is getting carried away? What do you have anything without
a logo?
Speaker 3 (03:23):
What are you talking?
Speaker 1 (03:23):
I don't mean a Nike logo, Adida's logo. I meant
can it? Can you do you just kid a hoodie?
It's a hoodie, a pullover. It's a pullover. Like so wait, wait, wait,
walk me through the You just copped that at Ross
for nine ninety nine. What's the next move you do?
You go straight to the mountain like Ross has it
on there, so you had to go somewhere.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
You got a guy in Connecticut in the gift shop.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
Yeah right, Rob, you didn't give it to nobody for Christmas.
You don't have to lie. Now, what do you is
that the next step, like you have to go get
it embroidered, like you just have to do that. You
don't ever, just like I have.
Speaker 4 (04:04):
Plenty of stuff that doesn't have anything on it. I
just don't wear during the radio shows because you know
people are watching us.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
So I have known you for like fifteen years. I
have never seen you that you have, Robgie, have you
ever seen him in anything like that? That they have
a school logo, email, every logo Fox.
Speaker 7 (04:23):
The only time he doesn't have a logos when he's
coming from USC because he's teaching. He got on the
polo or whatever. But anything that's athletic where it's got
a logo on it.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
No, it's not true because I'm a Gucci hoodie that
doesn't have anything on it.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
Of course you're not gotta run a five thousand dollars.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
Oh god, if I put everything a thing on every show,
you ain't that crazy.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
I have some that are just playing that might have
the Jordan's.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Never seen it. You never seen it?
Speaker 3 (04:49):
Yes, you have to.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
You know why you're my role model. That's my last point.
I suffer from, like I don't like to promote me itis, Robgie,
you suffer from. I don't like to promote me. I this.
I need some of you, Rob, because zoom and know
that again, Elijah, so our YouTube people can see this
and radio people. His thing says, Rob Parker's press box
(05:10):

Like that. It's I gotta step my game. I gotta
step my game up. I love it. We need I
seriously like, I have to do that more. I need
to do that.
Speaker 4 (05:27):
There's no promotion department for you, so you ain't lie
if you want to. If you want to be able
to put yourself out there and to be relevant and
people see stuff. Hey, I saw that odd couple. I
get it all the time. Oh that I saw what
you were wearing the other day.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
The couple. That's awesome. Whatever, whatever, it's just a way
of identifying you.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
And by the way, Audum Robertson are meteorologists. She wants
one of our pullover. I've ordered a few to this
TV station, and she keeps going, if y'all don't send
me one of those.
Speaker 3 (05:58):

Google and it's a Shay is this your last day?
Speaker 3 (06:36):
Is just Shane's last day? This is it. Shae's leaving,
one of our favorite people at the station.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
I wonder if he's going. Ain't back like Bree you think.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
No, No, He's got this big job and we're congratulations
in Mozel top Sha.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
Appreciate that shout out Calvin coming on my last day.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
First of all, I told you ten times get your picked.
Can I tell you say, did I tell you get
your pictures?
Speaker 2 (07:00):
Now?
Speaker 3 (07:00):
Then you did say that, but no, you know, I
thought you'd make an exception for me.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
But I kept telling you every day. I'm like, hey man,
I'm here, let's do it. Hey man, I'm here, let's
do it. No, I gotta wait till my beard is perfect,
till my curls are locked perfectly, That's what he would
say to me, Rob, I gotta wait till I'm smooth
faced and perfect.
Speaker 4 (07:17):
Well, all a little to do, say, Shay is best
of luck to you.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
You going to a new sports station here in l A.
And we'll miss them, all right, Yes.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Yes, yeah, do a great job over there, brother, good work.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
All right, Rob, g Let's get right to the basketball.
Speaker 4 (07:33):
And last night we were talking about the uh we
should say, the Lakers and the thunder and the file
calls and people that's all people talked about, the non
calls against the Lakers and stuff.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
Spell it up, guys.
Speaker 7 (07:52):
I don't want to make it seem like it's so
because I'm the resident Laker fan on this show. Is
But when you have Legion of Hoops, when you have ESPN,
when you have bet MGM, when do you have bleach
your freaking foot locker weighing in on the officiating in
that game? You know it's gone bad. Now, in case
you lived under a rock, last night, game two Oklahoma
(08:13):
City wins going away as they.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
Were expected to, it did the Lakers didn't cover the fifteen,
and then I couldn't do that and couldn't do that.
Speaker 7 (08:19):
No, the Oklahoma City closed for most of the game,
and they pulled away in the third.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
And fourth quarter.
Speaker 7 (08:23):
They end up win going away, but all anybody wanted
to talk about was the Oklahoma City Thunder and what
they do to the officiating.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
On two hands one.
Speaker 7 (08:32):
Number one, they will grab, clutch, hold, elbow, whatever it takes.
On the defensive end, it's part of what makes them
such an elite defensive team.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
Kudos to them.
Speaker 7 (08:44):
But on the flip side, on the offensive end, they
will flop and flail and whine and cry and do
all the things that people hate about today's NBA.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
It was so bad.
Speaker 7 (08:54):
You had Austin Reeves calling the official a word I
can't say on the air and have a powow with
them after the game and in the post game, JJ
Reddick let his frustrations be known.
Speaker 8 (09:06):
Yeah, I mean, I sarcastically said the other day they
were the most disruptive team without fouling. I mean they
have a few guys that foul on every possession and
all the good defenses. Do you know SGA gets like
a I don't even know a touch fowl. I guess
on the drive there was a stretch where four straight possessions.
Our guys got absolutely clobbered trying to make an entry
(09:26):
pass to Jackson and Jalen Williams is grabbing his jersey
with both arms. That's a turn, like we just they're
hard enough to play. They're hard enough to play. You've
got to be able to just call it if they fail,
and they do.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
Fail, you know, I can't stand JJ reddick. I'll just
be clear with that button. I'm gonna say.
Speaker 4 (09:45):
This, this is why nobody likes the Oklahoma City Thunder
when people last how come people don't embrace this team?
Speaker 3 (09:57):
It was through draft picks?
Speaker 4 (10:00):
Do that the idea that that it was homegrown and
they built this and they and their young, exciting guys
and they win and they all they do is win,
and and why don't people embrace this franchise? Last night
was exhibit a on why people don't embrace the OKC Thunder.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
Their garbage. It's a terrible watch.
Speaker 4 (10:25):
During the regular season, right, It's unbelievable how much they
get away with it.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
Yes, they play great defense because they do foul SGA
all he does is get calls.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
He's doing the same thing to everybody else, and no
call it when he's doing it, and when people do
it to him, they call it.
Speaker 3 (10:48):
It is unwatchable.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
Normally, I don't want to hear the coach JJ Reddick
bellyaching about officials. But we've seen this act long enough
and it's awful to watch. It's a bad brand of basketball.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
It is. It's not it's must turn off TV. That's
what it is.
Speaker 4 (11:08):
Must turn off TV because who wants to watch this garbage?
Speaker 3 (11:13):
I heard somebody say.
Speaker 4 (11:14):
Adam filling your me con minionaires, are you kidding me?
I've been covering this damn league since nineteen eighty seven
and it is absolute garbage to watch what people watched
last night. The idea that foot locker would chime in
and they're not even trying to hawk any sneakers tells
you all you need to know. It was that bad,
(11:35):
that blatant, that people don't even want to What is this?
Speaker 3 (11:39):
Can you let them play basketball and earn it? If
they're that great? Awful?
Speaker 4 (11:45):
Kelvin, I'm telling you absolutely, why would you watch that?
Speaker 1 (11:50):
Yeah? What what made it crazy, Rob is when the
Pistons won yesterday to you guys's point, all the sites,
hey good comeback or o K that a big fourth
quarter when the Knicks on a nixt you know they
eke out a win and gets six, or when the
Spurs win, way to come back, bounce back from a game,
when the Thunder win. This wasn't just comments in the
hater section or something. This was coming from sight saying
(12:13):
look at all these non calls, or look at SGA here,
or look at check flopping. And that's what made it
interesting because you expect comments to hate right comin. People
are and hey, oh this person that Lebron is of this,
Katie's of that. That's what the comments section is for.
I think what shocked me this time was actual legitimate
outlets leading with that, you know, leading with those those concerns,
(12:35):
leading with the flopping. Because normally they would just say
SGA in a Thunder take control of the series, or
they were saying do you not see that? Do you
not see this? And when the first thing I would
I'm scrolling that's everybody from basketball guys blogs I follow.
That was the main thing everyone talked about. And when
you start to dive into it, rob what made me
(12:56):
upset was that. Okay, if it's one thing to get
it an offensive file Ali James Harden style, he did
for years, and that's not what SGA does. That's one thing.
You can't do it on the other end. You can't
be supposedly tough and good on defense and rugged on
defense and then be acting real weak on the offensive,
(13:17):
falling and flopping everywhere. Right, that doesn't make sense. The
Pistons they're rugged, they get in there, they know they
muck you up a little bit. The Spurs do the
same thing. Got a bunch of guys who defense. They
don't flop and flail everywhere. And I think that's why
people get upset with the Thunder because they are good
defensively they do. They are handsy and a are little rough,
And you're okay with that because you would think those
(13:37):
guys can accept that and take that. On the other end,
that's not the case. And when you look at Check
not even getting hit in the face and flying everywhere,
SGA dag near broke ass arms and gave him a
shot to the ribs, and what's flabbergasted when the refs
call to follow him. I'm like, dude, we all saw
you grab his arm and elbow him. It's absolutely unnecessary.
(13:58):
And I'll say it this way, Rob, what makes this
team difficult? And you've I've been biting my tongue. I've
been wanting to watch more. I've been thinking maybe we're
having where exaggerating a little bit. Last night, As I
told ROGGI was kind of the final show for me
because I'm thinking, all right, well, you know what, maybe
it's not that bad, Maybe we're overreacting. Maybe it's just
a day and age. What makes it upsetting is because
(14:19):
they don't have to do this. You know what made
some people upset with Barry Bonds and Alex Rodriguez and
Roger Clemens is because those three were amazing pre allegedly
steroids for a couple of them, they were great. And
that's what made people upset, because, man, you're a rod
You already with the most talent. They gave you two
hundred and fifty million dollars because you were that great.
(14:41):
Now you're doing steroids, and it's like, you don't have
to you're already great. And I think that's what the
Oklahoma City thundered. Y'all don't have to flop and flail
you're the deepest team by far, you have the best
scorer in the league, you played great defense, you got
a good roster. You don't have to do that. You're
the reigning champs. And I think that's why people are
set with it. You don't have to you don't have
(15:02):
to take the juice if you will, because you're already great.
You're already Barry Bond's amazing, Roger Clemens, A Rodney, these guys,
why are we tainting what you do? And that's what
the thunder are doing. They're tainting the greatness of the
team because now they're overclouded by that. That's all we're
looking at. That's all we're focusing on. And it's unnecessary
and I needed because they're so deep, they're so well coached,
(15:24):
they got the best score in the league, and they
can win without it. And I think that's what's frustrating round.
They're not a desperate team, you know what I mean?
Where this Hey, what we gonna do? This is all
we can do. They're not that, so it makes people go, well,
why are y'all doing that? You don't even need to
do this. It's like Mike Tyson in his prime was
putting salt on his gloves, so you know the blind
is his opponent. It's like you're Tyson nineteen eighty eight,
(15:46):
knocking everybody out in ten seconds. The last thing you
need to do is be finding other ways to cheat.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
All right?
Speaker 4 (15:50):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven

Rob eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. It seems
like the basketball world is just starting to really turn
on Oka see if they hadn't already. Last night was
a tough watch. I'm not gonna lie. There were some
calls I was perplexed by, like the and one Lebron
got right in front of the refs, Stan van Gundy.
(18:03):
Everybody's like, uh duh, like that's in the refs, Like nope,
it was some weird stuff going on to be to
for sure. Eight seven seven nine nine, Oh Fox, so
we got wrong.
Speaker 3 (18:11):
I want you to know. My worm has already turned,
so we're okay, okay, all.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
Right, Hey yeah, yeah, it's Friday night for sure for you.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
Aaron in Washington, you're on the Collins though.
Speaker 3 (18:23):
Not at box.
Speaker 5 (18:25):
Hey, what's going on?
Speaker 10 (18:26):
Tellas that you gotta doing?
Speaker 1 (18:27):
What's up?
Speaker 2 (18:29):
Good Man?
Speaker 10 (18:30):
Love you guys, love love love you love tuning in.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
Man, Thank you man.
Speaker 1 (18:33):
I appreciate you.
Speaker 10 (18:34):
Aaron, absolutely, Man, Man, I'm a little confused by your
guys take though, because Lebron and Austin Reeves, Man, they
flop all the time. That's that's how the Austin Reeve's
bread and butter is floppy.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
No, no, no, no, you're right. There are other people, but
this is it's not only that.
Speaker 4 (18:52):
It's that the thunder get to they get to grab
on people. That's they're they're so good defensively and they
do they do that, but they flop as well. And
your lead guy s g a, that's what they free
throw what they call him the free throw merchant. Merchant,
I mean, let me add that's not that's not but
Lebron is out there, he's out there grabbing it.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
No.
Speaker 3 (19:15):
But I'm just.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
Saying like, okay, let me let me let me er,
let me answer, let me answer your question. Why I
get what you're saying. People try to draw files. That's
happened for years, right, that's part of it. Reggie Miller
was good and he's one of my top five favorite players,
not best ever, I'm saying my personal five favorite players
growing up. The difference is with the thunder when you
watch them, it's don't exactly like there's the difference between
(19:37):
I got in there, you bought me a little bit,
and I added a little extra flair to get a file.
I get that. That's part of the game I'm talking about.
Even when they're on defense and if a guy you know,
post them up and turns the pivots a little bit
and Check goes flying like his jaw got broken, and
then you see the replay he was never even touched
in the face. It's the it's the over exaggeration or
(19:57):
the acting. That's one thing. If you get in the paint,
get a body, pull a little extra on it. That's
part of the game I'm talking about. You can't flop
on offense and defense and especially try to be a
tough team. It's just it's.
Speaker 3 (20:10):
A bad watch. It really is.
Speaker 4 (20:12):
Kevin in Culver City. You're on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio. What's up, keV?
Speaker 1 (20:17):
That is good all the time, all the time.
Speaker 5 (20:21):
Uh, check this out. I'm gonna go Kendrick Lamar euphoria
And this is what I think about Bulal Womers. He's
under I hate the way they walk, I hate the
way they sneak.
Speaker 3 (20:33):
I'm with you, I'm with you.
Speaker 5 (20:35):
And it just shows why Shi's great friends with Drake.
It just makes sense. Now, look, you you've got a
team who plays like they're playing defense in two thousand
and two, the only team in the NBA who play
defense like it's two thousand and two and get away
with it. And then on the other end, you can't
defend him if you sneeze on side. He goes to
the line, I said, I'm gonna just shot one more shot,
(20:55):
and then if they do it, got turning it off.
Marcus Smart is in the film. He doesn't even touch
him and they call a foul and Marcus smart size
of the line. I turned it off, aid, I can't
take it anymore. It's not watchable basketball. It's not enjoyable
like the Warriors.
Speaker 3 (21:08):
With the books. It's a bad watch, Kevin.
Speaker 5 (21:12):
Yeah, it's not enjoyable like Kobe and Shaq. This is
not a great team. This is a team who's entitled
and they feel like they should get every call and
they should not play basketball like that. It's not a
good watch and it's not a good look for the NBA.
It's disturbing and it's terrible. These guys are so so
so lame. I can't stand the thunder.
Speaker 4 (21:31):
Oh there you go, no doubt, Thank you, keV. Let's
squeeze in real quick. Ac from Bangladesh. You're on the
couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (21:40):
What's up?
Speaker 4 (21:40):
A wow?
Speaker 5 (21:42):
Thank you, thank you so much for taking my call.
Yeah wow, all right, let's talk about the officials for
a moment. You know, everybody puts like players, they criticize
their officials, they get fined and suspended.
Speaker 4 (21:53):
I think it's time to put the officials in the boot.
Speaker 1 (21:56):
Good point.
Speaker 5 (21:57):
Yeah, they should be suspended.
Speaker 1 (21:59):
They should.
Speaker 5 (21:59):
They should be fun because you're messing up in high
intense playoff game when after my regular season, guys, where's
about flyoffs? You're messing up the flow. This has been
going on in basketball and football. It's like what's the
point of watching Hollywood movies.
Speaker 10 (22:13):
That he's going right, thank you, no doubt he's.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
Got a good point. They got to legislate it out
and and and I think David Stern would have like
caught wind of this, saw this heard from his audience,
you know, his viewership, and people, all right, we got
a this this offseason. We nipping this in the butt.
And Adam Silver hears about it again. Nobody's listening part
of the game. Like I said, Rob, you go on
to paint, you get a file like you try to
(22:37):
exaggerate that happens. But the tune of for everything. They're
exactly exaggerating on defense, exaggerating on charges, they're exaggerating on
free trying to draw free throws. It's it's it's too much.
But I'll give you a guy or two. Their whole
team doesn't.
Speaker 4 (22:51):
But Luca is like that, he's a hard watch to
comps a fair point every single play. Oh dude, okay,
Like like everything's playing.
Speaker 1 (23:01):
He'll stop, he won't run back on defense.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
I agree, I am right, Like like he's a great player.
What are you doing?
Speaker 4 (23:07):
Every call like, no, no shot that he misses doesn't
because somebody I don't.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
Know, no, no, no it will y'all open the door,
he opens his hands or all my every y'all changed
the lights, y'all did something. There's some reason why exactly. Yeah,
Lucas got it bad too, because his isn't only just
like he may not flyop his just like you said,
it might be a little flop, but it's also I
gotta talk to the ref. I gotta not get back
(23:33):
on defense, and he hurts his team because they end
up being four on five because he's gotta dog get
back waste of the time out, you know. So yeah,
I'm hear you on that all. I appreciate the cause
everybody on that. Obviously, we still got more to see
during the playoffs'll see if the refs maybe get a
hold of this as well. Somebody who actually might even
be responsible for some of his file merchant stuff he
(23:54):
got exposed. We'll tell you who and what we're talking
about after we get to Steve.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm Eastern,
four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
Hey Steve, thank you appreciate it. Odd Couple, Rob Parker,
Kelvin Washington on a fucking Flashback Friday, we got Shekel
City on the Way Play of the day as well.
Plus we got, of course, as he's just mentioned, got
the Knicks underway. We'll see how they fare without a
particular player on their roster. Rob g there was somebody
we talked about a couple of days ago, had a
bad game, but Santy, it had nothing to do with
(24:31):
the Pistons, And you know, I'm gonna be back watch.
I'm gonna show you what I'm gonna do, not so fast.
Didn't look like he did that last night.
Speaker 7 (24:38):
Now we talked about a little bit during the show yesterday.
James Harden went slim Jim Harden on them again and
he delivered a vintage Harden performance in the postseason, which
is not something that you want. Shot three of thirteen,
missed all four to three points, had four turnovers, second
straight game in the series in the fourth time in
nine playoff games this year that Harden has more turnovers
than made baskets.
Speaker 3 (24:59):
All right, it was the twentieth.
Speaker 7 (25:01):
Time in which he shot twenty five percent or less
from the field, breaking a tie with Bob Coosey for
the most such playoff games in AA history. And it
was the thirty sixth time he's had three or fewer
mainfield goals in the playoff game. Vintas James Harden just
not the kind of vintad you want.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
You know what else to Rob g I saw he
right now is tied for fifth at five straight seasons
from twenty nineteen through I think last season. We'll see
how to see how this one ends. But of most
seasons losing in the second round, Patrick Ewing was on
that list as well, a few other people were on
that list. So for all of the talent, you wonder, man,
(25:39):
what the heck for MVP winning for multiple times finishing
second or third MVPs. The matt just doesn't match when
it comes to the postseason, Rob, and that's what makes
its weird. But I've watching the games, Rob, and obviously
it's almost unfair to expect it. At this point, he's
what thirty six years old, give or take. But I
think what it has been for him is the one
(26:01):
tracked mind of his game. What I mean is if
he's not kind of probing and getting into pain and
kind of getting some files and getting the free throw
line or hitting that step back three, he kind of
becomes I don't want to say useless, but he's not
doing anything else. And I think that's what becomes a
problem with his game, rob is if the shot ain't going,
(26:21):
or if he's gassed a little bit and maybe has
some conditioning issues. But when you see other guys, they're
able to say. I'll give you an example. There's been
a lot of debate about Dwayne Wade or James Harden
over the last couple of years, like who would you
wear take Dwayne Wade James Harden. And the reason why
you say Dwayne Wade is because, well, Dwayne Wade's gonna
play defense. Dwayne Wade's gonna dive on the floor, he's
(26:43):
gonna block shots, and he's gonna obviously attack the rim.
And James Harden, I think is a more natural offensive
player than barely you know, And I think when I
watched him play, I'm like, man, he can't go do
the other things and get him self ignited or the team. Rob,
like I said, he's not gonna jump into this table
saving a ball. He's not gonna lock down a guy.
He's not gonna say the shot ain't going to night, Rob.
(27:04):
But I guarantee you I'm gonna get fifteen rebounds, you know.
And I remember guys like a Rondo in his prime.
Obviously he could have seven points, but cound been the
best player on the floor because he'll have seventeen assists,
you know, three four steals, some rebounds and Harden. It
just seems like when it's going bad, he doesn't transfer
that to any other part of the game. And I
think that's what hurts and Rob was when you watch it,
(27:26):
I'm like, well, last Night gets the pistons, they're locking
them down. He can't dribble in front of these young guys.
They're younger, they're faster, more athletic. It happens. It happens
to everybody. Lebron sometimes can't do that because guys like
they can just stick in front of them. So then
he has a luxury O. I'm gonna go on the
post and I'm a big body people, right, Other people
have or I'm gonna block some shots and James just
becomes useless out there. Rob And that's what I see
(27:47):
where he can't transfer it, excuse me to any other
part of his game. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (27:54):
I think.
Speaker 4 (27:55):
I mean, I hear you piling on. Obviously, when he
came to Cleveland, he made them better. They thought it,
winning a lot of games, and he just doesn't do
it in the postseason. I can't explain it. And I
mean they were nineteen and seven with him when he
showed up there, and he could score and do some stuff.
And when he gets into the playoffs, for whatever reason,
he can't make shots. If he makes three of those
(28:16):
three pointers, they win that game. Like seriously, it ain't
that far off. But you can't go three for thirteen
and zero for four or five, you.
Speaker 3 (28:25):
Know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (28:26):
When you're not giving him anything offensively, he's not gonna
grab a ton of rebounds and do a lot of
other stuff.
Speaker 3 (28:31):
He's a scorer.
Speaker 4 (28:32):
He needs to score, and if he doesn't score, then
you're right, then he's not gonna be effective. You can't
have a night like that. He didn't even have to have.
He didn't have to be ten for thirteen. You think
if he made two or three big threes in a
couple of those spots where they would be, it ain't
that far off. That's the scary thing is that it
ain't that far off. They didn't get run out the building.
(28:54):
That game was a close game until the very ind
But you need somebody like him to make shots. Even
know what else to say about him, like he can't
seem to make shots in the postseason, I don't care.
Speaker 3 (29:05):
I think he's playing that.
Speaker 1 (29:07):
Yeah. For me, though, I won't just simplify it for
the shots because I hear what you're saying, right, he's
not he's not making them. I get that.
Speaker 3 (29:14):
No, but you can't do three for thirteen that that's
what he does.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
But what I'm saying is, Rob, you've been watching this
league since nineteen to watching it forever, but covering it
since nineteen eighty seven. My point is there's an effort
factor that I think that's big for me because you
know this guys, shots don't fall. Some nights for Jordan included,
he had some playoff games when we actually look back,
like ooh, some finals games like ooh, Kobe Bryant Game seven,
(29:39):
seven to twenty three or whatever it was, but he
had almost twenty rebounds, Like, give me something else. And
I think that's what makes it even more glaring, is
that he becomes so one sided, like this is all
you're gonna do. Whereas, again, when you're competitive in a postseason,
maybe it ain't falling, but you see the effort. I'm
diving on the floor, like I said, I'm pumping the
(29:59):
crowd up, I'm taking charge, I'm doing other things that
just say, you know what, my guy's shot ain't falling
the night. But Dagan, he got us going dagging, He
ignited us dagging. He was still leading, and it's like,
just because a few shots don't fall, where does he go? Dude?
I have watched him now for twelve years.
Speaker 4 (30:16):
I've watched him too, see playoff game as well. I
know he doesn't always do it. He's had you could
you could go look at his record. He's had big
nights as well in the postseason where he made a
ton of shots. If he's not at this point of
his career and his age, if he's not, if his
SHOT's not going and he's useless, I mean, I don't
know what to say to you other than.
Speaker 1 (30:36):
That that, But I'm saying that I don't know they diving.
Speaker 3 (30:39):
On the four that they need from him. They need
him to make baskets.
Speaker 4 (30:44):
All of the bravado and waving flat towels and diving
for loose baul that sounds good. But if he's still
three for if he's still for three for thirteen, you
need scoring for him.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
You need and if he's getting me extra possessions by
taking the charge, by diving on the floor like Larry
Bird and all these, he needs.
Speaker 4 (31:04):
To make baskets. I disagree. He needs baskets. You can't
have a terrible he can't keep shooting like that. You
can't baskets over either.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
And that's my point. He plays with a very laxa daisical.
It doesn't make sense for a guy that great. That's
why we're having this conversation. If he was Kevin Martin,
got you whatever, if he were some other gether whatever.
It's that during your regular season, he's been one of
the best five players the last twenty years, and you're like,
why is this guy less than when you're playing more
minutes of the postseason, because minutes matter and gay you know,
(31:39):
and your numbers go down when Historically great guys numbers
go up, and that's what makes it so glaring for
him and to me, there are other ways to affect
the game. You can you can provide extra oomph if
you want. He just doesn't have it, and so to
me it makes it even more glaring. On the way,
Sheckel City tirec Player of the Day. And also we
got a game going on right now, because the Nicks
(32:00):
be a little hot water. If somebody isn't there to
play and play, well, we'll tell you about. It's the
I Couple. Funcky Flashback Friday, Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple

is gonna join us from Spectrum Networks. We talked some
Lakers with hers. My girl NICKI will chop it over
her next hour and we got Mark Fucky Comadina last
(32:41):
hour essentially sports and Fox Sports NBA Insider was Fox
Sports Radio NBA Insider, so we'll talk to him as well.
So a lot to get you still on this funky
flashback Friday right now at a time for Shekel City.
Speaker 2 (32:55):
Welcome two, Shekel City, the home bay for Rob Parkers
daily dicks against the scrap.
Speaker 4 (33:07):
All right, here we go, Shekel City. One in one
last night, one nine and ninety eight. Yay, thank you tonight.
Uh Spurs got the Spurs minus five and a half.
I know they won by a million the other game,
but over the Timberwolves. So Spurs minus five and a half. Uh,
(33:28):
Yankees are at the Brewers got the Yankees minus one
and a half, and the Royals are hosting the Tigers.
Speaker 3 (33:36):
Royals minus one and a half.
Speaker 4 (33:38):
So again, Royals minus one and a half, Yankees minus
one and a half, and the Spurs minus five and
a half. And remember, I'm not telling you who the better,
oh haul, I'm telling you who I bet on.
Speaker 1 (33:53):
That's right, all right? See how you do? Let us
get you now. A tire rec player of the day
Reees puts it up, drives the pays out of control,
throws it away.
Speaker 3 (34:06):
Cruso's got it chased.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
In the open court.
Speaker 1 (34:08):
Look out Blovia, me watch.
Speaker 4 (34:09):
The baby with a two hand up til Miss Alexhander
punctuates a ten to hing spurt.
Speaker 3 (34:14):
Caruso plays the crowd.
Speaker 1 (34:16):
It's a rousing loud in mob City. Baby. That is
that is thunder radio right there on the call. That's
your tire reck play the day. And for over forty years,
Tirec's been helping customers find the rights for tires, for how,
for what, and for where. The drive ship fast and
free back by free road has a protection with convenient
installation options like mobile tire installation tire rec dot com.
(34:39):
It is the way tire buying should be. Just getting
you updated on this game. We got eight twenty left
in the second quarter. The Knicks are up thirty eight
to thirty five, seventy six ers, first game back at home,
so that they're faring pretty well. Rob, It's gonna be
interesting for me watching this series and really watching the
whole postseason. Man. I think kind of the secret sauce
(35:01):
to this next team has been og Nanobi. I think
he's been incredible. He's a luxury for them and that
they can throw him on a two guard a big
a four, he can guard the wings down low. He's
making all of his shots. He's averaging like twenty four
plus points, sixty plus field goal percenters, shooting like sixty
percent rob from three. He's been spectacular for them because
(35:24):
you kind of already know what Brun's is gonna do,
right you have high expectations. Not playing great right now,
two for eight, five points, but you kind of know
what he's gonna do. Karthey Town's performing better the last
handful of games, but Og has been that best, most
consistent player for them throughout this postseason. So it's gonna
be interesting this hamstring. How severe is it? Is it
just miss a game? Your back is it? I'm not
(35:46):
ever gonna be really myself because I think he's the
key compart. I've been telling Jason Smith this. As you know,
we've talked about his knicks. I said, that's the guy
that scares me if I'm another team, because Brunston just
mark him down for twenty eight you know what I mean.
That's just he's every every team, not every team. A
lot of teams have that guy sga him, you know,
Luca Cade and it's like what you talk about with
the Pistons, right, who's going to be the other guys?
(36:09):
And Og has been so good and that's what makes
them scary now that he finally has found his role,
his footing, and it's been spectacular for them. So I'm
interested to see man with this hamstring? Is it just
I needed a night off, a couple of nights off,
or is this gonna be a lingering thing?
Speaker 3 (36:25):
I mean, nobody knows. We're not doctors. I mean, you
never know. We saw.
Speaker 4 (36:32):
Harris for the Pistons go down looking like he had
tore his.
Speaker 1 (36:37):
Did you see what happened? Did you actually see the
you know now that we get obviously angles after games
and whatnot, Donovan Mitchell grabbed his hit when he went by,
so you know, he's trying to full speed keep up
with Donovan and him holding his leg like made him
kind of like pop his you know, pop his hip
a little bit when you can see when you see
the replay, Donovan grabbed him.
Speaker 3 (36:55):
But anyway, go ahead, Yeah, I mean we just don't know.
I mean, long road ahead. I did.
Speaker 4 (37:02):
It didn't sound like he was done and that was
it and you have no chance of playing or anything
like that, you know, but you just don't know, and
you depends on how they're playing, and if they feel
like they can win one of the next two in Philly,
then you don't have to rush them back if they
if they lose them, then you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (37:18):
You got to figure out how big of an.
Speaker 4 (37:21):
Impact he makes and whether or not you want to
try to put him out there because you need them.
Speaker 3 (37:25):
So it all depends. If you win the night, then
obviously there's no rush.
Speaker 1 (37:29):
Oh yeah, if you win a night, you tell him
have a seat. Even if you lose game would that
be game four? You know what I mean, because we're
up three to one, we take have a seat for
another one, just to make sure he's best if you
towards the Eastern Conference Finals. But what I think has
been great about him The last time we saw him
was on Wednesday in Game two, thirty seven minutes, twenty
four points, five boards. Like I told you, he's been
(37:49):
able to play both sides of the ball. He's been great.
And you look at his season average, rob he was
averaging sixteen seventeen points, five rebounds, only shooting forty eight percent.
Not only forty percent is fine, but to be shooting
sixty plus and scoring sixty seven eight more points a game.
That is very, very impressive for him man, So they're
definitely gonna need him back at some point. There's somebody
(38:11):
they're saying is already better than one of their team's greats.
We don't agree.
