Did you got the memoir about wearing white today, we're
not supposed to wear white after Labor Day and we're
supposed to wait until the weather breaks.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
But you've got your United States Football lead a league.
Speaker 4 (03:01):
I know you're just wearing a hoodie. I actually went
to a game when I was in high school. I
covered the I didn't cover the league, but I went
to a game at Giant Stadium and said all the
way at the top and paid my nine dollars for
the Renegades.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Now the New.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
Jersey Generals, New Jersey General owned by one Donald Trump
at the time.

And look where you all are now, unbelievable crazy Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
Right?
Speaker 2 (03:35):
Man?
Speaker 4 (03:35):
A lot of stuff to get to, a lot of
football stuff, of course, going on basketball. You mentioned Tatum,
all that and much more. But first, let's welcome in
the odd couple crew. We wouldn't be able to do
this fine radio program without them. The sassy Rob g
is our producer, but Mexican is very sassy today.
Speaker 6 (03:55):
Energy Is it the weekend? Is it?
Speaker 4 (03:57):
You know he's tired of the last few days, No Kelvin,
so you know now he's trying to take it out
on me.
Speaker 6 (04:04):
Guy's gone. You know it's the problem.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
But that's a guy, that's that's his guy. Ped GZ
just got to cycle back on.
Speaker 4 (04:11):
That's the issue, and he's a little I think you
know what, Alex, I wasn't thinking about it. He's a
little mad because he saw the scale picture that I
sent him.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
I'm not getting jabbed. I'm not doing five days.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
In all natural, all natural row and already five pounds
off impressive rock right?
Speaker 6 (04:28):
Did you know?
Speaker 4 (04:29):
Once I get started, I'm getting there. So they say
I can't do it Martin, which is I'm gonna knock
off fifty one pounds between now and NABJ on August Tennis.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Wow, some way just threw the papers at me. What's
wrong with you? Rob G? Come over here. I've read
that's a side effect me and you're gonna fight? What
is that?
Speaker 6 (04:50):
I got to pull the curtain back for you, Rob Parker.
Rob Rob G's had a little loads energy lately.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Yeah, he's got something going on he should get nugenics.
Speaker 4 (04:56):
Yeah, unbelievable. Of course, Alex is our jury challenge, that's right.
Steve the Seger's at the anchor desk. He keep us
updated throughout the program. And of course Elijah, Elijah our
social media Google.
Speaker 6 (05:14):
He's like Kelvin. He's never here.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
Now you know what I'm Elijah doesn't show up. Kelvin's
not here. Alex, we're the glue to the odd couple.
Eight years, the glue. Rob g Any Company holiday he's
got for four days.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
He don't care. Nope, somebody's got to hold the show together.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
Me and Alex understand the assignments, no doubt, all right.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
And when cole weather sets in everyday aches and pains
can linger.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
But a leave's got your bat with up to twelve
hours of body pain relief per dose, a leave keeps
you going for the long lasting body pain relief.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
This winner.
Speaker 4 (05:51):
Try to leave used as directed for minor aches and pains.
All right, Rob g uh, we got news about the
ball to the Celtics.
Speaker 7 (06:01):
Oh now you want to talk to me. I get it, Rob,
because I need you to set the tab. See it's
kind of racist, but it's not racist.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
It's compared to it.
Speaker 5 (06:09):
Child, Right, you know this, guys, you've been acting up,
doesn't mean you don't have to still set the table.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
That's gotta be mar I'm a year older than you, sir.
I'm stay on that side, all right.
Speaker 7 (06:20):
Yeah, big news tonight, We're what three minutes away from
tip off, Jason Tatum making his triumphant return to the
floor in Boston, about ten and a half months removed
from tearing his achilles in the playoffs. According to ESPN's
George Saddano, Tatum not only is he gonna play tonight,
he is gonna start and there is reportedly no minutes restriction.
(06:43):
JT is full go for the Boston Celtics. You got
a problem with this, huh?
Speaker 5 (06:49):
Listen, I'm just saying the way that the conversation around
this has been presented, I think is missing, like such
a major part of it.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
And it go back to the way that.
Speaker 5 (07:00):
You get introduced to people, like when you get hired
in as like the janitor. Very rarely are you coming
in as the CEO. And for whatever reason, basketball reasons,
all types of reasons. Jason Tatum has been since the
moment he walked into Boston has been deemed as the guy.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
Really, you know what it was when he.
Speaker 5 (07:20):
Dunked on Lebron in that Game six in the Eastern
Conference playoffs in his rookie year, and ever since then,
it's been Jason Tatum is the guy. So I'm not mad,
and I think what he's done in terms of rehabbing,
in terms of coming back. Look two hundred and ninety
eight days ago, it says that Tatum tore his achilles
and he was able to come back, and like that
(07:40):
is a testament to his body's furthought that he would
be a year testament to his work ethic, all of
that is incredible. However, this is the thing that I
find to be fascinating is the Boston Celtics right now.
Had Jason Tatum played this entire season, you wouldn't have
said that they could be much better than they are
right now in terms of win losses, in terms of
state in the East, that their second or third in
(08:02):
the East. Have been one of the best teams in
the Eastern Conference all year. Right, maybe they're the one
seasons out of the two seed. But Jalen Brown has
the second highest uses rate. He was the Finals MVP
last year. He is an MVP candidate this year has
played a ton of games. Like I get that the
MVP candidacy is like the sixty five game thing, but
you know what that also means that Jalen Brown's been
(08:23):
available and he's been the guy. And now hearing the
report from Saddano, like Rob g just said that Jason
Tatum is walking into the starting lineup with no minutes restriction,
makes it seem that the conversation around it teems off
to me because the common refrain Rob has been, well,
if you can get seventy percent of Jason Tatum, the
Celtics are gonna be that much better. If you can
(08:44):
get Jason Tatum, he's just gonna stand in the corner
and shoot threes.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
If you're gonna get the Jason Tatum that's gonna be.
Speaker 5 (08:49):
Comfortable being a role player, then everything's gonna be fine.
What I have felt about Jason Tatum and I think
if you asked Jason Tatum, he will tell you he
has no.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
Interest in being a role player.
Speaker 5 (09:00):
He has very's very into his legacy in terms of
he wants to look in terms of how he deems
himself losing the finals MVP or not winning the Finals MVP.
I know took a shot to him because you can
see it and when he talks to it, and this
is a guy rob to put a pin in it.
He clearly cares about NBA legacy because when he won
the championship, he did all of the you know, anything
(09:23):
is possible, did the Kobe picture, all of the pictures
and all of the moments that he saw from NBA
legends of his childhood. He relived them with the trophy.
You're not telling me that this guy's not coming back
trying to win a Finals MVP this year. And I
think that when you have a Batman in Robins situation
like it has been in Boston since the arrival of
(09:45):
Jason Tatum and now all of a sudden, Batman's been
out for a year and Robin has been fighting crime
just as well, you know, like that's it, And now
I just think it's tough. It can be a tough
situation for everybody to come back and be copoesthetic with
Ason Tan coming back and taking the exact same role
that he used to have.
Speaker 4 (10:04):
I totally disagree, and I'm gonna say this, whenever you
can add talent to your team and your roster as
you try to make a chance at a climb to
try to get to an NBA championship.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
I don't see why you wouldn't.
Speaker 4 (10:20):
And this is not coming back to the same team
because they got rid of a lot of veterans al Horford,
they traded Porzingis, they got rid of people, and he's
coming back and a lot of young guys have been
able to plug up the boat. And you're right, Jalen
Brown should be considered for the MVP because everybody rode
off the Celtics. And even if Tatum didn't win, he
(10:43):
didn't win the NBA Finals MVP, but he led the
team in every step the big major category for the
NBA Finals, So he didn't win it, but he was
a big contributor and let it every single major category.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
People can look it up.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
It was weird that he didn't win it, but he
was a major factor. You always add talent. They have
to know what he feels like, and they have to
believe that he can just go out there and play
and he doesn't have to come in and start off
the bench. If they believe he's put in the work
and he's completely healthy to go.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
Out and start and play and just play.
Speaker 4 (11:25):
Then that's where they are on this I gotta believe
that they're not gonna rush the guy out there for
no reason. No, and you say that they can't be
better their second, they're not first. The Pistons are first.
The Pistons have a five game lead. I don't know
how you don't welcome back a player of this caliber
to a young team that overachieved all year. And now
(11:47):
the reinforcements have come. Now the calvarry has come, and
now they can acquiesce and get back into like a like, oh,
he's gonna mess up everything.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
No no, no, no no.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
The game plan was him and Jalen Brown and the
other people, and now that he's back, those other players
will have to adjust around those two, those two players.
To me a healthy Jason Tatum, I'm swinging away from
the Knicks. I'm swinging away from the Pistons. I'm swinging
(12:21):
away from the Cavaliers. I say they are the favorites
to come out of the East if he's stay sealthy
and just.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
Plays with what they've done.
Speaker 4 (12:31):
So I totally understand it because the only reason they
lost to the Knicks. If you remember the first two games,
they blew double digits fourth quarter leads, and they shot
horrendous from three point That can never happen again. I
don't care what basketball team you're talking about. In the postseason,
they missed seventy five out of one hundred shots, and
(12:53):
they lost those two games to the you know, lost
those games to the Knicks that turn that series around.
They'll never do that again. They're the favorites in the
East with Jason Tatum. Without Jason Tatum, they're not the
favorites in the East. So I don't know what the
conversation with. So that's my point.
Speaker 5 (13:08):
It's that is the common refrain, and I don't disagree
with Obviously, if you could add a guy who's been
fourteen first time All NBA, you should, right. I'm not
saying that this is a bad thing or anything for
the Boston Celtics. I'm saying just in terms of, like
on a basketball fit, of course, if we're playing video games,
of course, But these are people, and Jalen Brown is
(13:29):
a guy who from my eye, it looks like he
has taken a back seat for the entirety of his
NBA career, and even when you go to the Olympics,
didn't make the Olympic team. For Jason Tatum to go
and sit on the bench, like I think that there
is a level of Jalen Brown says, I have not
gotten the amount of credit and respect in this league
(13:51):
that is worthy of a player of my stature. And
part of the reason why is because Jayson tatums right
on my same team. I'm just saying it's something to
look out for because I don't I don't think that
the Boston Celtics now, all of a sudden.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
Are just the odds on favorite.
Speaker 5 (14:04):
I have to see Tatum come back and be himself
first before I can feel good about that.
Speaker 4 (14:08):
I don't know. Just Tatum, when you think about became
just a sixth player in NBA history to lead a
team to a championship, and he led the team in points, rebounds,
and assist in the postseason. Doesn't happen all the time.
I know he didn't win the MVP, so a lot
of people want to discount it. But when you do
that and you're the sixth player all time in the
league's been around for a million years, all right, eight seven,
(14:29):
seven ninety nine on Fox, we want to hear from you,
will Tatum's return mess things up for the Celtics or
does he actually make them the favorites in the East
Like I think, we want to hear from you eight
seven to seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven,
nine nine, six sixty three sixty nine. Rob Parker, Martin Weise,

Speaker 6 (16:33):
Got the year.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
What year was that?
Speaker 6 (16:35):
Nineteen eighty three?
Speaker 2 (16:37):
Okay, so that was right out that That was right after.
Speaker 8 (16:41):
High school, your second year covering the league, right, yeah,
look nineteen eighty seven. Oh okay, don't don't age me
that much, all right, eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.
Don't forget Henry McKenna from Fox Sports. He's an NFL reporter.
He's going to join us at the bottom of the hour.
But first, Martin up. Martin's not that jiggy with it.
(17:02):
Thinks that Tatum's return could mess things up for Boston.
I'm not going to paint you into a box. I
think it's a great thing, and I think it makes
them the favorites in the East.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, we want to
hear from you.
Speaker 5 (17:14):
Let's go to Woody Intera. Say, Woody, you're on the
eye couple Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 9 (17:20):
Hey, what is the seventh I think also that Tatum's
return makes Boston the favorite of the East. Now, of
course it's not. I mean, if he gets injured, you know,
just all is being said, if he's healthy, oh yeah, fact.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
Oh yeah, he's got to be healthy, right, no doubt about.
Speaker 9 (17:36):
I'm with you, But I think your co host here,
you know, we're fart with Jalen Brown. The wording in it,
he's been a victim of because the guy said Jalen
Brown has taken a back seat, you know, as a favorite.
I guess he's trying to say to Tatum. But the
fact is he didn't. He's never took in the back seat.
(17:57):
He's just been giving a back seat through media and narratives,
you know what I mean. So if Tatum gets injured,
it's not his fault right, and he just goes out
and play. If people choose Tatum over him on one
of the most travesty is taking Dereck White over him
like there's nothing he can do. I think he should
be saluted that he went out and just kept praying.
(18:18):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (18:19):
I agree, I agree because everybody wrote them all for
this season.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
You know that they got rid of all the veterans.
Speaker 4 (18:25):
They were like, okay, we'll just take a flyer we'll
put on this season.
Speaker 9 (18:30):
And they still had him written off until this prior
news that Tatum's coming back, the boss is pretty good.
Speaker 5 (18:36):
But see, that's my point though, that's my point. What
he is that this team is forty one and twenty
one second in the East, and nobody in America until
yes I should say nobody in America, but until yesterday,
nobody was talking about how the Celtics for a prohibitive
favorite in the East.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
The East was wide open.
Speaker 5 (18:54):
All of a sudden, Jason Tatum can come back, and
it's like, oh, no other prohibitive favorites. When I got
a guy who is the third pick in the draft
has been to every conference finals. Jason Tatum has been
to Jalen Brown was right there like that.
Speaker 4 (19:08):
But you're adding a guy who in the playoffs only
the sixth player of all time to do it the
leading and points.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
I mean, but you're acting like that doesn't matter.
Speaker 5 (19:20):
I'm not pooling any of them. This is not nothing
is anti Jason Tatum. But like what saying was, and
that's how it goes there.
Speaker 4 (19:31):
It's it's uh, it's Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones.
That's that's it's it's Diana Ross and the Supremes. Somebody's
out front. But what's Michael Jackson and the Jackson Five?
Speaker 2 (19:42):
All right?
Speaker 5 (19:43):
But what happened if Michael Jackson couldn't sing for a
year and a half and all of a sudden Tito's
records got.
Speaker 4 (19:48):
More but they didn't get but they didn't get more
SPA because they're not first. They're not leading that second.
They're not first. If there was first, maybe you'd have
a better argument. But they're not even first the second
five games.
Speaker 5 (20:00):
Out right there atop of the Eastern they were with Jason.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
We'll go seven ninety nine on foughts, go to.
Speaker 5 (20:06):
Andre in Massachusetts on the ground out there in near Boston,
on the common world they're in the odd couple.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
What you got, how you doing?
Speaker 10 (20:16):
Thanks for taking the call. Yeah, well we're parking the
cars tonight and a lot of the night man's.
Speaker 9 (20:23):
A wicked tits wacked pitta.
Speaker 10 (20:26):
You know that he was out and now he's back
in the mixing. So yeah, the fans here are exuberant
and feeling that the winds at our back.
Speaker 9 (20:34):
Now.
Speaker 10 (20:34):
Listen, you know, in terms of this dynamic d or combination,
why can't they be Butch Cassidy and the Sun Dance
Kid And what I mean What I mean by that
is the Celtics. They do have a strong culture and
these guys came into the league together and they're both
drafted by the Celtics, developed by the Celtics. It is
true their personalities are different. Okay, it's not the same
(20:54):
as Steph and Klay Thompson, you know, where they're finishing
each other sentences, hanging out all the time off the court,
But there is a mutual respect and they understand how
to play together effectively. And so I do feel this
makes the Celtics the favorites in the Eastern Conference because
the Pistons are the new kids on the block. You
don't know what you don't know, and so they're gonna
(21:15):
need to experience what it's like to be in these
high leverage games. I think they can make a conference semifinals,
maybe even break through to the conference finals, but they
haven't been on that level yet. That's why I give
the edge the Celtics. I don't think that makes the
favorites in the league, but this is a very dangerous
team now that Tatum is back and he's in the mix,
and they have the weapons and the depth. Now took
a pete for a championship, thanks Tech Nicole.
Speaker 4 (21:35):
No doubt and then Martin. The other thing too is
Jalen Brown. You know you hurts yourself too because he's
too busy putting uh hair a die on everybody's uniform
in the NBA. I mean that's the bad blocks.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
Look, he's trying to leave his mark. He can't even
leave it mark.
Speaker 5 (21:52):
He said, why can't they be Butch Cassidy and the
Sundance Kids. Did the Sundance kid know he could never
be Butch Cassidy?
Speaker 2 (21:58):
Do you know what I'm saying? Like, did Robin know
he could never be? Batman? But it's all that's framed
right now. And I don't know if that's the case.
It's the odd couple.
Speaker 5 (22:06):
Maybe you should have left got them going to a
smallst city and taking that one over.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
Oh there you go.
Speaker 4 (22:10):
All right, Hey, let's get you caught up with mister
Steve de Sager.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
How's that?
Speaker 3 (22:16):

Speaker 4 (22:28):
And now let's get into the NFL. Henry mckinna, Fox
Sports NFL reporter joining us here on a Friday. And Henry,
how are you? What's happening to say hi to Martin?
Speaker 11 (22:40):
I'm good. What's up Martin? Here?
Speaker 2 (22:42):
I'm doing good man. A lot of stuff going on
keeping you busy?
Speaker 11 (22:45):
I know.
Speaker 4 (22:46):
I want to start with the Taylor Decker asking the
lines to be released after ten years?
Speaker 2 (22:52):
What do you make of that? Is he going to Chicago?
Speaker 4 (22:54):
Is there some some Ben Johnson juice going on?
Speaker 2 (22:57):
What's happening?
Speaker 11 (23:00):
Yeah? I mean I imagine it's things like this often
have to do with money, right, and so I imagine,
you know, things weren't quite working out with that with
that contract situation. And so he decided he wanted to leave. Ultimately,
I think it actually says something interesting about the Lions, right,
(23:21):
Like the Lions used to be the offense that nobody
wanted to leave. And as you noted, Ben Johnson's gone,
as we saw at the end of the year, like
that offense didn't quite look like it had the juice
that it once had. And yeah, and so I you know,
it's notable when a tackle wants to deveil and doesn't
(23:41):
want to take a pay cut or doesn't want to
accept the salary that he's got just to play with
what was once the most explosive and exciting offensive in
the league and is now just sort of middle of
the pack.
Speaker 2 (23:55):
Quarterback Malik Willis is like the bell of the ball.
What'd you talk about Willis? Well that it's kind of
how I feel about it.
Speaker 5 (24:02):
Like if Malik Willis was the pretvious girl of the dance,
I'm definitely going home by myself. But it doesn't seem
like the NFL teams are going to be in that bow.
Where do you think Malik Willis ends up? And at
what number do you think it's.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
Going to be at?
Speaker 11 (24:15):
Yeah, guys, I am I am so guilty here because
I'm totally enamored with Malik Willis. I understand that he
I think that the like current pervading statistic around him
is this. It's set like when you cut off the
screen passes and sort of like the junk plays and
the gimmicks and the checkdowns. He's only thrown twenty eight
(24:37):
passes downfield, and so like, you know, he could end
up making one million per drop back that he's ever
thrown for the for the Packers.
Speaker 6 (24:47):
Good work, you get it.
Speaker 11 (24:49):
So, yeah, exactly, So it's like, based on the twenty
eight you know, passes he for Downfield last year, he's
going to make twenty eight per year at his next home.
I know it sounds crazy, I really do. I think
like that, you know, somewhere between twenty five probably probably
about twenty five million a year, which was north of
(25:09):
what Justin Fields made with the Jets last year. Obviously
that didn't.
Speaker 2 (25:13):
End well, well, that was a bad one, right there,
no doubt.
Speaker 11 (25:15):
Yeah, but it'll be south of where you know, guys
like Daniel Jones and Sam Darnold and obviously Baker Mayfield.
This sort of like other journeyman types that have gone
on to cashing in other places. And that's because it'll
remind you sort of like, you know, maybe this is
a deep cut for people, But remember when Matt Slinn loses,
(25:37):
you know, signed a lot of money with Seattle after
barely playing behind Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 4 (25:42):
But do you remember that the Lions got him paid
because you do six touchdowns the last game of the
year against the Lion.
Speaker 11 (25:48):
Actly. Yeah, So this is similar where you've got to,
you know, back up not coincidentally in Green Bay because
they have a really good system there of developing quarterbacks,
and you know he's going to pash in. I just
think the thing about Mike Wells I really like is
that you go back to his draft profile. Tracy got
(26:10):
like athletic, really impressive arm, good enough measurables in terms
of height and weight, and excellent speed. So you have
a guy that has upside. He goes to the Titans
and obviously he doesn't succeed because they don't know how
to develop a quarterback. But he goes to Green Bay
where Lafleur teaches him how to manage games, how to
(26:30):
run an offense, how to not be rash, and how
to make good decisions and how to keep your team
in a position to win. And so maybe he didn't
look like the most incredible quarterback and maybe there's such
a small sample size that we don't know. But I
just think if he is good, if he is as
good as we think he was, albeit in twenty eight
(26:54):
four twenty eight downfield throws, if that can project to
a bigger sample, then it's worth twenty five million, you know,
and especially if you can figure out how to make
it look like seventy five million, uh when you announced
the deal and then you look at the closure details
and it's really only twenty five or forty guaranteed over
the first two years. So it is ultimately kind of
(27:14):
like a Justin Fields deal at like it's really at
its bones, but you maybe make it look bigger at
first announcement, so everybody feels good about how big and
impressive it is.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
So just what do you think you wind up where?
Speaker 11 (27:30):
I So there's there's the realistic option, which is which
is Arizona. Obviously, uh, Lafleur's brother just got hired as
the head coach there. So if there's anybody.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
That's why the NFL stands for nepotism, we'll go ahead, one.
Speaker 11 (27:46):
Yeah, the Shanahan's, Belichick's the Lafleur's now so the yeah,
so Matt Lafleur, his little brother's Mike. Mike's the new
head coach in Arizona. So if there's anyone that's going
to give like a detailed recommendation and make Mike comfortable paying,
(28:06):
you know what is more than necessary for a guy
that has such a small Staples eye. Matt has seen
behind the scenes the much greater Staples size, which is like,
who is this guy? What's he like a practice? What's
he like in the media room? Is he going to
be the kind of guy you want to sign to
a bigger deal and take that risk? So if anyone's
going to give a good referral, it's an honest one.
(28:28):
It's from brother to brother. The other name the other
team that I think would be interesting, mostly to me,
but hopefully to the team themselves is the Steelers, and
I think that you put him in with a McCarthy offense,
you put him in with a DK metcalf and a
Jalen Warren, you can kind of defeat because Willis has
(28:51):
impressive mobility, you can kind of defeat some of the
shortcomings on the offensive line, although that still does need
to be addressed, but we've got the off season to
do it. I like the Steelers just organizationally too, Like
you can't underestimate a functional company setting you up to
succeed versus a dysfunctional company, and those exist within the NFL.
(29:15):
Like the Packers are a super functional company, quote unquote,
the Steelers are a super functional company. The Browns, the Cardinals,
and the Titans are not right. So Willis has scene
one already, the Titans, He's seen another that's functional Packers.
I'd like him to make a good decision, a smart decision,
go to an organization that can actually set him up
(29:36):
to succeed. To me, that's more than Steelers. But I
can understand why he might want to go get that
bag and he might want to go to the Cardinals.
Speaker 5 (29:44):
That Henry McKenna here on the Odd Couples Fox Sports
National NFL writer, I got what quick one for you,
because you just said about the functional and dysfunctional organizations
in the NFL. Raiders haven't won one playoff game or
only made the playoff one since two thousand and two.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
And I heard Mike Shilver today on Dan Patrick's show.
Speaker 5 (30:02):
Saying that Alex Guerrero has like kind of an outsized
influence in the locker room or in the organization because
Brady's not there on a day to day basis, and
it feels like Guerrero is kind of like a pipeline
to Brady and it's one of the reasons that Max
wants out.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
Max Crosby wants out.
Speaker 5 (30:18):
And I found that fascinating that Crosby, who has kind
of been quote unquote this raider for life, has seen
a ton of dysfunction in Vegas and is now apparently
according to Mike Silver and other reports that he's going
to be traded within the week. That like, now, this
is like the final straw. What do you make of that?
Speaker 11 (30:36):
Yeah, the straw that breaks the camel's back, right, this
is this is I mean, I was privy to the
dysfunction in New England where Guerrero had a roll in
New England, and it was you know, to this day,
I think people still debate like how substantial was his role,
Like how much of a point of this function was
(31:01):
he was he creating problems between Belichick and Brady? Did
Belichick dislike him so far as we know, and as
was sort of like reported way back when by Seth
Wickersham by ESPN. You know, Guerrero created problems in New
England and and sort of necessitated Uh. Eventually he was like,
(31:23):
not really on the facility anymore, but if you talk
to players, you know. Brian Hoyer, former Patriots back up
tweeted about it. I think a few days ago. Hoyer
was like, when I was in New England and he
said Vegas, which surprising because I don't actually know what
the timeline was with that. But when Hoyer was in
(31:45):
New England, he said, like players were fighting to get
time with Guerrera, uh, and that and that they often,
you know, always walked away from a session with Guerrero
feeling better than when they entered it. So, you know,
to to some degree, it's like he's successful at what
he does on a player by player basis, But is
(32:05):
he creating like a macro point of tension with an
organizations from like, you know, year to year?
Speaker 2 (32:11):
Right?
Speaker 11 (32:12):
Both things could be.
Speaker 6 (32:13):
True, all right.
Speaker 4 (32:14):
Henry McKenna, Fox Sports NFL reporter joining us here on
the odd couple. Thanks Henry, we appreciate it. I know
you're busy. It's the busy time of the year. Appreciate

Two and one, last night, sixty three and forty one,
all of the seasons.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
That stop making picks sixty.
Speaker 4 (34:52):
Three and forty one, two and one, last night, Here
we go tonight. I got the Phoenix Suns minus five
and a half.
Speaker 2 (34:59):
They're hosting the New Orlean Pelicans. That's my best bet.
Lakers minus nine and a half.
Speaker 4 (35:06):
They're hosting the Indiana Pacers and the Clippers.
Speaker 2 (35:09):
Plus six and a half.
Speaker 12 (35:10):
They were in San Antonio taking on the Spurs again,
son Domo best bet minus five and a half, Clippers
plus six and a half in San Antonio and the
Los Angeles Lakers minus nine and a half at home
taking on the Pacers.
Speaker 4 (35:30):
And remember, Martin Weiss, I'm not telling you who to
bet on. I'm telling you who I bet on. Thank goodness,
Let's get to the Let's get to the Lakers and
Lebron James rob g last night watching that video, Martin,
you saw it. Lebron James folds down right and he's
acting like he heard I don't know what shoulder was first,
(35:53):
which one did.
Speaker 2 (35:53):
He grab the right? It was his right elbow right.
Speaker 4 (35:59):
But then when when they came to get him, he
switched elbows to the left. And now he's out tonight
like I just when you watch it. I don't know
if Lebron knows how the world is set up now,
but there's cameras everywhere in angles and none of it
makes sense to me. I don't understand why dis late
(36:20):
in the game, you're still faking like which where you
got hurd? Or I get it, you missed the shot,
the referee didn't call it. I'm gonna go down and
scream and I'm heard, but you grab one elbow first
and then and then the other elbow.
Speaker 2 (36:34):
What is this? I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 5 (36:38):
I was sitting at the update desk last night and
for about fifteen to twenty seconds, I was like, is
this real now?
Speaker 2 (36:49):
It was not on first fall? On first fall, I
was like, get up right.
Speaker 5 (36:53):
But also, ironically enough, ifs Jason Tatum makes his debut
two enty ninety eight days after playing, I thought Tatum
was faking the first time he when he went down
with dculous on first glance. Then they go back to
the second shot and you see Tatum spinning around in
the circus, like, oh, he's really hurt. When they and
we played it in the play of the day when
they blew when they because they wasn't bleeped in the broadcast,
(37:14):
and Lebron let out an F word that was like got.
Speaker 2 (37:17):
Picked up by the camera.
Speaker 5 (37:18):
But when you grab the right the cause I know,
for that moment I was like, oh, no, not like this,
Like I'm thinking he might have really hurt himself, Like
this is not the way I want to see Lebron
go out this year, and then see them come back
in the game two minutes later, I was just like
I was mad at myself for for for falling for
I just it's mind boggling to me, Like, do you
(37:41):
see the videos on social media with all the fakes
where he's grabbing his head and didn't even get hit,
you know, going up for a basket and all this.
Speaker 2 (37:50):
It's like it's over and over.
Speaker 4 (37:51):
There's so many of these videos where Lebron acts like
something happens to him, and I just it doesn't. It
doesn't bother you that I'm asking you, being Lebron, that
you come off as phony when you do that when
the camera angles clearly say that it doesn't matter. All right,
Our number two is coming up here on the Odd Couple,
(38:13):
and we got a prediction about one football team and
you'll like it.
