Speaker 1 (01:46):
He's back in the building. Welcome back. Good to have
you here. You were missed. Looked good online. I was
able to see some of the picks traveling around the country.
I didn't see you the Detroit stop. I did miss that.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
That was the last one I was. Last night I
watched Schooble.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
Pinch Scooble Man. The fact that he might not even
win the cy Young is crazy. If I just shouted
out the numbers, which is a credit to all the
other pictures who are having great season.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
But yeah, man, good week. Shout out to Martin, Shout
out to e.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
From Alden Polonies, Carrie Rhodes in one, Rob G, who
Mary Mary? I thought Alex was gonna be here. We
was gonna roast them, So now it's just you gott
to join in on the roast.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Man. I can't deal.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
I'm stuck between two robs now, rob G, the producers
now longer to produce. He robbed g on air, and
but he also lets you know that he has a
producers flair. Rob and that's he doing crazy numbers. He said,
Nobody doing numbers like me. I'm holding Fox Sports Radio
down as is online.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
Check out our YouTube page sponsored by rob G.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
That's what he told me, he said, even you now
seeing these numbers, it was crazy. I'm not seeing those numbers,
that's what he's saying. And you know you love your
numbers too. I don't know Larry June, Rob Parker. I
don't know who loved numbers more.
Speaker 4 (03:09):
I mean, if they're keeping track, like as I always
tell you, if they're not keeping track that I'm not interested.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
That's true.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
Like like if we're if we're playing uh sports and
you keep it scored and I want to win, we'll
keeping track of how many views you're getting.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
I want to be in the league. Listen.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
But the crazy thing is you're not in the lead
anymore of checking. Not numbers, maybe, but checking. Robb G
was like, hold on baby, no, literally, hold on baby,
put the baby down. Check let me check these numbers
real quick.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Robb G. Kilt it, Friday, that's right, kilt with the tea.
He killed it. We had a good time, so it's
good to have you back. Though.
Speaker 4 (03:47):
How about the rest of the week. Can I check
those numbers or no. I'm just saying, since we're talking
about rob G's all the numbers.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Good, yeah, we look it down, man, come on now,
up and they'll equal what I did.
Speaker 4 (03:57):
Okay, that's today saying, like we're talking numbers. I just
want to know you didn't mention any other numbers.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
I'm laughing because rob G was on them numbers and
I was like, okay, rob G, I liked that we
got Yes, we have a great show.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
And I want to say thanks to all my friends
and the ball games I went to and.
Speaker 4 (04:17):
Everything, and what one real big shout out to my
mentee Alex Alex Pernato man. So he we went to
the game at Yankee Stadium on Saturday, Yankees A's him
and Warren Frantz, another guy meant he and Alex had
on a Yankee hat with a Jackie Robinson logo on
(04:38):
the side and whatnot, and we just started talking.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
I was like, I love that hat right there, my god,
except for I.
Speaker 4 (04:44):
Wouldn't wear a Yankee hat or a med hat, even
though I like the logo of the Jackie Robinson. So
we're just having a conference that what size do you
normally wear on your ass.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
It's a seven and a half. I used to wear
seven to three. Just seven.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
No, it's not that bad conference station. He's like, okay, today,
there's a box at my door. Look at this, he
orders backwards. I didn't get a chance to see it.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
He ordered this hat. You see the Jackets got to
Jackie Robinson, h and Brooklyn. I can wear that.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
There's no Brooklyn Dodgers right, okay, and autographed on the inside.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
I didn't even see that.
Speaker 4 (05:24):
Rob G saw it because we talked about it first thing.
He said, oh, yeah, that's sweet. I'm like, oh, I
love this. Thank you, Alex, I appreciate that. Would you
like considerate when we are considerate, especially like I wasn't
looking for anything. We were just having a conversation that
it was. It was a really great time. Thanks everybody.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
Cool hat and everything.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
Yes, And I said, you know, I like it because
when you put when you get something new and you
wear it right away. Because I literally it wasn't the door.
As I was leaving, I saw I took it out
of boxe. Oh no, I'm wearing this all right. Let's
welcome in the couple crew. We wouldn't be able to
do this fine radio program without him. Rob G is
produce rob G on air. He's in over here with us.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
You know, Rob rob G did shows before.
Speaker 5 (06:03):
I want.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
I hope he didn't think like it was his first
time on.
Speaker 5 (06:06):
And they all do numbers, numbers, they all do numbers.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
That's just so that he could walk around in the
producer's room and you know, the other guys like look
up to him and go, he's only.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
A couple of course. Uh.
Speaker 4 (06:21):
Steve de Sager's at the also, I think we got
Saga Saga.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
Doing the uh social media. Yeah, and on the ones
and twos? Why you buget? All right, let's just get there.
Let's do it.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
A lot of stuff to talk about, including Lebron James
robb G.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Do you just want to James, I don't think yeah,
I'll say you because.
Speaker 5 (06:53):
Just before the show started, the Lakers lost a very
key member of their team. Last year three and deep
layer Drian Phinney Smith left the Lakers to take a
four year deal with the Houston Rockets.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Might not seem like a big deal to unless you're a.
Speaker 5 (07:06):
Big Laker fan like we are, but one of the
reasons why that happened a Lisa Gordon. Rob Parker is
because Lebron James that you know what. I know, I'm
about to be forty one years old, but I got
a fifty two million dollar player options stare at me
in the face. I'm gonna go ahead and pick that up.
And then after I pick it up, I'm gonna put
out a statement from my agent through ESPN saying I
(07:29):
want to be for a championship and the Lakers are
building for the future. I understand that, but I value
a realistic chance of winning it all, making it seem
like he's going to decide on his future in Los
Angeles depending on how the rest of this free agency
thing goes. And losing DFS not a good start. They
did pivot though, and signed Jake Laravia. I know you
(07:52):
guys are big fans of his.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
Well, oh yeah, I saw the movie Jake Lawrence of Arabia.
No as good as it gets, I mean, I don't
know about that. Here's my point, and I'm just gonna
say that.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
You walk in here right now, I'll be like, hey,
how you doing, Lebron makes no sense? None of it
makes sense, Kelvin.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
When you're gonna be forty one and you've played twenty
years in the NBA. There's only one reason you're playing, right,
to try to win a championship. Last year you got Luca.
Everybody went to the ram to the mat for you.
Oh yeah, I don't see any being out west that
scares me. Luca and Lebron I take them any day,
and they got knocked out in first round, right, okay,
(08:32):
So to take all the money that you can, I'm
against players giving money back.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Rob g for years, Kelvin, you know I'm not into that.
For years.
Speaker 4 (08:46):
I've said I would never give any money back for years.
But when it comes to Lebron and his unique situation,
he's the one where the money that I'm not playing
all these years just to play out the string. So
you need help, you need other players. It doesn't make
(09:08):
sense to me at all why you would need to
pick up all that money when you need other pieces,
and you saw what happened last postseason. Do you want
to play twenty three years and only win four championships?
Speaker 2 (09:22):
Like?
Speaker 4 (09:22):
The longer you play we talked about this, the worse
it looks because there ain't nothing special about four championships
in twenty three I don't care how many times you
win four championships in twenty three years is not that impressive.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
So I think he's made a big mistake.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
It doesn't sound like he's really trying to win to me,
because I would be working closely with the Lakers. What
do you need from me in order for us to
get another piece? And you know what I mean, and
really trying to work to get this out. All the
other players, no, let them figure it out. But Lebron
and his situation, his age is no way in the world.
(09:57):
He should just be taking the most money that's going
to hinder the organization.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
I think Lebron is lebroning, and I think the Lakers
are lakering. You have two organizations, which I do believe
is gonna be changing now in the new ownership. But
Lebron is doing what Lebron does. Lebron is going to
protect Lebron. He's gonna look out for Lebron. I think
he took his haircut when he went to college also
known as Miami Heat University, and I think that was
his one time where he said, all right, d way
(10:24):
you taking one too?
Speaker 2 (10:25):
All right?
Speaker 1 (10:25):
Cool, see boss, You're gonna take one too, all right?
Everybody put their hands in say haircut on three, one
two three, haircut, and they all took a haircut. And
I think since then he said, nah, everything I went through,
every endured, I'm not doing and I know what I
mean to this league and I'm not doing.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Does it hinder him? Yes? Could we be looking at
the last.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
You know, four years of his career if you already
include a couple years and maybe the next couple of
years similar to Kobe, maybe it won't be injury wise
because because Kobe was all battered down, beat down, injured.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
We knew that.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
But remember Kobe wasn't taking no haircut either, And I
think they've just realized. I think those caliber players are like, nah.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
Kobe wasn't trying to get catch Michael Jordan, like like,
that's that's where Lebron is.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
And I get, But Kobe thinks.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
But you know the thing I always told you, Rob,
and I truly believe. I think he knows. For those
who say Lebron's to go, he's to go. And I
think those who say na, he never, he won't be.
So I don't think it matters. It's more like he
can't if he wins five, he doesn't get Jordan.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
What is he playing for?
Speaker 3 (11:21):
So?
Speaker 1 (11:21):
I think he wants a great question. I think he
absolutely wants the money. I think he absolutely wants to
still just be relevant, be around. I truly believe he
wants to try to play with Bryce. Maybe not with
the Lakers, maybe it's with Cleveland. A ceremonial year with Cleveland.
I think he wants Bryce in the NBA, which is
very likely, whether he's a you know, second round, sixtieth pick, whatever,
but I think it's likely. And I think he's like, hey,
(11:43):
if a championship happens by happen stance, not great. But
this is what he's does and this is what the
Lakers do. You put in some sweat equity with us,
You be there for us, you want us a ring,
you are, we are indebted to you. This is what
they've done. You know, you and I have talked about
they keep the rambuses around. Uh, they keep people. Kobe
was different Kobe. I'm not arguing they got a shock.
(12:05):
I mean like, like, let's not act like but they
drafted this when you draft his son, no, but but
but my point is he's not Kobe was a Laker.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
You know what I mean? From they want to put
it twenty years. So they did that.
Speaker 4 (12:20):
They didn't make the playoffs his last five years. Whatever,
they gave all the money. It was bad business, it
really was. But they felt, like Kobe was saying, that's
what they do.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
They keep their head coaches or Byron Scott, like they
bring people in the Laker world. Magic is in him,
just out, magic is in, magic is out. This is
kind of what the Lakers do. But this makes no
sense for Lebron.
Speaker 4 (12:41):
I'm that serious, Like to have two years where you,
especially if you don't do anything with Luca, you think
that looks good on his resume that you had Luca
five times First Team All NBA and you're not.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
You know, there's some couple of years with Ads like
all right, y'all should have but they couldn't even go
to the final.
Speaker 4 (13:00):
You don't win it, but you go or at least
not or at least get in the playoffs without the playing.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
Like, and he had some of those years with AD
two where you would be like, all right, I'm not
saying y'all had to beat everybody losing the first round
or only get to the second round.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
So I just think Lebron is trying at this point
dictate everything. I'm gonna get all the money. I'm gonna
put the pressure on y'all money. I'm already gonna put
the already got my out. My out is we ain't
have enough. Then I go to play with Cleveland for
a ceremony of a year he ain't going or you know
wherever the Knicks for finally one year whatever it is,
(13:35):
and then and then he rides off to the sunset.
So I think he has it set up where he
can only win from it. We win a ring, great,
we lose, we ain't have enough. That's how he's trying
to play it, position it well.
Speaker 4 (13:47):
But that that don't even make any sense to me,
because then your agent comes out talking about trying to
win like like they are.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
We're gonna monitor.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
What they couldn't even does Lebron right? Does Lebron really? Dude,
I'm not I'm the first one. I don't believe anybody
should give money back. But in his situation where what
he's doing, the reason he's still playing, there's nothing to
play for. He's the all time leading scorer, like there's
nothing to play for. If he claims rings don't matter, right,
(14:14):
and he's done his his career and he's great, and
the people think he's good. What what is left to
be honest? Okay, you play with your son.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
He's trying to play with both of them. Rup, Well
that's gonna happen. They're gonna be here.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
No oh no, I agree. I'm not saying that because
they maybe ownership is going to be in with that.
I don't. I don't believe that. I don't think the
Lakers are bigger than that.
Speaker 4 (14:36):
You did it, you know, and I just can't see
them if Lebron and Luca and they're not winning, you
know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (14:44):
And the gist.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
Mark Waters and his new ownership ain't doing that. But
he absolutely trying to play a Bryce. Absolutely, he's gonna
play a Brice and call it a career.
Speaker 4 (14:52):
Absolutely eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven
seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
Is simple.
Speaker 4 (14:58):
If Lebron is serious about winning a championship, why didn't
he take a pay cup?
Speaker 2 (15:04):
We'll continue that conversation next with you. Are you with Kelvin?
Speaker 4 (15:07):
He's just he wants the money and he doesn't feel
like he wants to win or I'm just thinking it's
just selfish. He should be trying at all costs to
give himself a chance to win. If you're going to
play in that makes I'm with you, But Rob, he
is making I'm Lebron. I don't take haircuts. I'm worth it.
Look what I've done for you. Look it up down
(15:28):
the league. I'm getting my fifty two meal. All right,

That is a Negro spiritual. I don't know how I
feel about that. It is a Magic City Monday with
the Odd Couple, Rob Parker kelvin Washington, Rod's beck in
the build it early.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
And uh, if you got what's that? Was just my
first vacation in ten months. It felt good. Delda.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
Yep, you know I made fun of you, by the way,
when you're gone, I'm sure, I said. I said, Rob
will take some many vacations and then don't count them
until he takes a vaca v No. But to me,
two or three days that's not a vacation. Okay, now
your week off as a vacation. I gotta do better.
I told you y'all sit down and said you also
encourage me, I'll do better. Take some time time, real
time off, hey, real quick, ak knees, stiff, back joints
(17:16):
not cooperating. Some days your body's just like nope. And
on those days, lucky there's a leave with just one
pill of leave provides up to twelve hours of pain relief,
so you can keep on moving.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
Use as directed, all right?
Speaker 1 (17:29):
Eight seven seven ninety nine On Fox, Robin not talking
about the Lakers or Lebron has opted in with fifty
two mil to stay another year with the Lakers, and
good for the Lakers, bad for him, so he have
taken a pay cut to get more players. He's complaining
about players who want to win now or get the
money when you can, brother, which you say? Eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (17:48):
Tony in DC, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio. What's up Tony.
Speaker 7 (17:55):
Rob and Georgia Tour? But next year you go, man,
the next time you go, you gotta shore in some
of the food at the ballparks.
Speaker 4 (18:02):
Many Right now I'm not eating like I used to, Tony,
But yeah, I had a You're right, normally I show
all the food, but you know everybody here knowing lost.
Speaker 2 (18:12):
You got to catch him on the football tour because
then he'll be back.
Speaker 7 (18:15):
And I know you're getting ready for your gold girls
towards all up.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
That's right.
Speaker 7 (18:20):
I think about your people that got you any position
in life, the rail Rob Parker fans, those old women
aren't going nowhere.
Speaker 4 (18:27):
Well, well, well they are going somewhere, Tony, they are,
but it's a pine box.
Speaker 2 (18:32):
They ain't got much longer. Tony, go ahead.
Speaker 7 (18:36):
Well, this Lebron thing, it's like I was telling Rob
g On, it's almost like that relative that comes to
town and they overstate they're welcome. I think he's overstated
his walking with the Lakers because I know Laker fans
are like, I can't wait for this guy to.
Speaker 8 (18:50):
Leave, you know.
Speaker 7 (18:51):
And another thing to me is he wants to see
what the Lakers are doing. Bro, you have no calling this.
This is your last year here, regardless. You know what
I'm saying. We're focusing on Luca. So if we're concerned
about anybody, it's Luca. And another thing is then Austin
reeves reject on contract ex since recently. Yeah, So if
(19:12):
I'm the Lakers, I'm trying to be around Luca. I
think Austin Reeves a good third.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
I wouldn't let Austin Reeves go ahead. I'm that serious,
I will.
Speaker 7 (19:21):
Lebron has no say in this. He really has no say.
And the sad part of this is I've never seen
in any sport where a great, a legendary player like
Lebron where so many people are like, I can't wait
till he leaves right.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
Well, be cause you, but Tony, you could wear out
your welcome.
Speaker 4 (19:39):
He's been here for a long time, like like seriously,
and at some point people do get tired of you,
keep tired of talking about you. It happens Trey in Texas.
You're in the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Tray?
Speaker 8 (19:52):
Hey man, what's up?
Speaker 5 (19:53):
Guys?
Speaker 8 (19:55):
Man?
Speaker 2 (19:55):
Yeah, where you been?
Speaker 8 (19:57):
Oh man, it's working, man, I.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
Hear you work, can do that. That's right? What you got, man?
Speaker 8 (20:02):
You got you gotta warn everybody. Man likes in advance.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
What when I take off?
Speaker 4 (20:08):
You did tell you all that for a little bit, Hey, Trey,
you know I got to take off once in a while.
Speaker 8 (20:12):
Come on, man, Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
That's true. What you got.
Speaker 8 (20:15):
But uh man, man, he need should opt out. Not
in my gosh, it's like a carousel with this guy,
like he wants all the attention. It's just like, dude,
come on.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
I'm with you. What's too much? Okay, dude, go away.
At some point, if I'm the Lakers, I would have said,
do you shure you want to come back? Because yeah,
it's cool. You know we had to run. We're gonna
strip this thing down a lot. You don't and you
don't want to be and you know it's funny.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
I'm watching Thanks, Thanks trading real quick, last Dance for
the one hundred ninety eight times, just kind of like
you need can you put on.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
The reruns to the Golden Girls or something?
Speaker 1 (20:51):
But before I go to bed, I just you know,
throwing the sports man Jordan and Lebron we talked about
best who's best who one thing they are polar opposite
on and is the best at in this case where
no one would argue. Man, he loves some Lebron loves them,
Lebron mj loving, but he loved the duck away and
Lebron is like, put me on the show, give me
the shop, give me this podcast, give me this, give
(21:13):
me that.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
I'm like, dang Bron.
Speaker 4 (21:17):
Yeah, Mike wasn't into all that Reese in Lexington. You're
on they couple of Fox sportuadio. What's up, Reese?
Speaker 9 (21:24):
What's up?
Speaker 8 (21:25):
Guys? How you I'm good man, I'm good. I'll get
to the point. You know, I appreciate Lebron, but it's
like watching the last few years watching the Lakers like
watching a rerun TV show. I mean, it's the same
old game. I mean, he doesn't lose the needle. The
Lakers are handcuffed with him and they change. I mean,
(21:48):
the most exciting thing about the Lakers season this year
they're trading for Duke Luca. Is watching a kid that
don't belong in the NBA.
Speaker 2 (21:56):
That's so sad. It's sad.
Speaker 4 (21:58):
And you know what, when they got Luca, go think
about where everybody was sky high. Oh oh, look for
the Lakers Lebron enter Josh, remember all that talk.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
I mean, it was a nice little run and you
thought this might be something and it ended up being
a first round exit.
Speaker 4 (22:15):
First round disappointing big time. A lot of people picked them.
Speaker 1 (22:18):
Oh yeah, you had uh Anthony Edwards talking about uh
Luca Pluca f Luca Timber wasn't five, by the way,
he made one for himself because the thunder beating was
pretty funny.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
I like him, man, he knows how a good time.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
Andy Kevinisky joining us, the co host of the Lockdow
Lakers podcast.
Speaker 2 (22:33):

man sphere like that, We'll talk to Akam about what's
going on to the move face head.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
Like, oh God, here's Rob. Yeah he's back. Rob Gee,
you gotta get used to it.

Speaker 3 (22:50):

Speaker 1 (23:01):
App' stea Couple Robin Kelvin on the Magic City Monday
Fox Sports Radio. We're joined now by Andy Kamininski, co
host of the Lockdown Lakers podcast, which go ahead, Rob,
get it out, real quick, go ahead.
Speaker 2 (23:12):
I never missed a podcast. That's right, we go. We
know if that makes you get that at cav Bro host. Sorry, Andy,
what's up man?
Speaker 3 (23:20):
How you guys doing doing good.
Speaker 1 (23:22):
Uh, you know, not quite as good as Lebron opting
into fifty two millions. But Rob and I were just
talking about. Took some calls on U are you on
the team of where Rich Paul is saying, and they
literally just put on the screen again. Oh, Lebron wants
to win now, he's but he's also concerned about the future.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
But give me fifty min two million. What do you
make of this opting in.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
The first time in his career because he never had to,
because he always got new deals or left the team.
Speaker 9 (23:46):
My read on it is that Lebron and Rich Paul,
I think accurately, since that there would not be the
same opportunity for Lebron to make fifty two point six
million dollars as a free agent with any team that
he would even consider joining. And my read is also
that the Lakers did not offer Lebron yet another one
(24:10):
plus one set up at that number in perpetuity, so
this was, if nothing else, their best way to set
it up. So where if Lebron does want to get traded,
it is possible, if still extremely complicated on a bunch
of different levels, like even if Lebron demands a trade
(24:32):
it is much easier set than done.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
You will elaborate. I mean, you know why saw well.
Speaker 9 (24:39):
To begin there's only so many teams that have fifty
two million dollars worth of players that they can afford
to send over without completely gutting their infrastructure. Where Lebron
would want to join. You have to make sure that
this is a deal that works for the Lakers, And
because Lebron has a no trade clause, he essentially is
(25:01):
part of the negotiating. It is essentially a three team deal.
And for all your listeners who remember in two thousand
and seven when Kobe demanded a trade, he also had
a no trade clause, And one of the reasons that
it never happened is you're essentially negotiating the Lakers, Team
X and Kobe. And that's a really difficult deal to
(25:24):
make work because the same players that in this case
Lebron would want to play with at least some of them,
are going to be the same players that the Lakers want.
And the truth is the Lakers don't have to do
any of this. Like Lebron may have a no trade clause,
but he doesn't have a you have to trade the clause,
you know, like he's not. Nobody's obligated to do anything,
(25:46):
and I seriously doubt Lebron is gonna crap away one
of his last remaining seasons in the league in some
type of holdout. So it is it's very juicy. Don't
get me wrong. I'm looking forward to our numbers at
lockdown Lakers over this week. But it's much easier said
(26:07):
than done, and much more dramatic than I think is
something that's easy to make.
Speaker 4 (26:11):
Take lice well, the idea that Lebron I don't understand
where we are in Lebron's like to keep playing. The
only reason you got to be playing, right, isn't to
be the all time leading scorer, which you are, is
to win more championships and to get closer to Michael Jordan.
That's got to be the only reason when you're forty
(26:32):
going to be forty one years old. So my point is,
how much is enough as far as not wanting to
just take a contract to help the Lakers build a
better team. Everybody andy when they got Luca, Oh, you
don't want to see Lebron and Lucer.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
I don't know about you.
Speaker 4 (26:52):
Who in the West would you rather have Lebron and Luca,
all these other teams and everybody bought in and they
got knocked out in the first round, and yet he's
willing to go back with the same squad.
Speaker 2 (27:02):
Again, I don't get it.
Speaker 9 (27:04):
Well, I mean again, when you look at I mean,
without getting to the weed, to the cap rules and
cap space and all that, there's not a lot of
availability for Lebron to join teams, I guess, other than
either like a taxpayer mid level or a veteran's minimum
stuff like that. But then you're talking about Lebron taking
(27:25):
tens of millions of dollars in pay cut. I realize
he's a billionaire, but at the same time, that's still
a lot of money like that is in the no.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
I get that under normal circumstances.
Speaker 4 (27:36):
Andy, I'm an anti players taking less than their value
to help the team.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
I'm against that. In Lebron's case.
Speaker 4 (27:44):
There's only one reason you're still playing is because you're
trying to win more.
Speaker 2 (27:50):
That's my point. He's the one.
Speaker 4 (27:52):
If you're going to play to be forty two or
forty three, wouldn't that be the reason because you're trying
to win?
Speaker 9 (27:58):
Sure? Sure, I mean I think I imagine that Lebron
thinks he could potentially have his cake and eat it too,
and if he needs to demand the trade that, I
think the Lakers will work to try to come up
with something that works for both sides. Like I think,
I think they will do their best to honor Lebron,
(28:20):
and you know, honor what he's meant to the Lakers,
what he's meant to the league, all of that stuff,
and show respect to you know, a superstar icon the
way that is their franchise ethos. But they're not obligated
to take a terrible deal just to make Lebron happy.
I'm guessing he's looking for a way to maintain his
(28:41):
salary while giving himself, as nothing else, the ability to
potentially get moved and also too, I mean, there's there's
an element of I think if Lebron can avoid it,
he doesn't want to be away from his family. You know,
he's been settled in La. His post career life has
been really in the works in the real time over
(29:02):
the last several years. And truthfully, if the winning championships
was the be all and all priority, and I'm not
saying Lebron doesn't want to win, I think he truly
does he plays too hard at his age to not
want to win. But if winning championships was truly the
number one thing, he would have left a few years
(29:22):
ago because the Lakers haven't been in front running position
to win in a while. And I and by the way,
I don't say that the disparage Lebron. I'm not saying
that it's anything.
Speaker 4 (29:32):
Revealing about his Yeah, but but but I think but Andy,
I mean, he had to get the scoring record from Kareem.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
There were other reasons to keep playing, you know what
I mean.
Speaker 4 (29:42):
So so well, I'm just saying, at this point where
he is and his stats and his numbers and everything,
there's only one thing left on the table if you're
going to change anybody's mind, right, and is that if
him and Luca would have win two more championships and
he finishes with a flurry and then he has a
he matches my Michael Jordan, you might have a conversation.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
So that's my point that this is where you're wrong.
Speaker 9 (30:05):
This is where you're wrong. The conversation is the yes,
the conversation is a rigged Marlow game. Because the people
who've already decided it's Michael Jordan's Lebron could rip off
Can in a row and their minds will never be changed,
because they'll say six and oh, and they'll say the
league is soft now, they'll say whatever, like the conversation
is non existent, like it's not real.
Speaker 4 (30:25):
I think, I think, I could, I get what I said,
But but the difference is.
Speaker 2 (30:30):
Here, and I hear what your point?
Speaker 4 (30:32):
My only my only differ, My only difference though is
in his mind. And and the Lebron people who say
he's the goat, they would just have a stronger footing.
Speaker 9 (30:46):
Where how strong the footing, the footing doesn't matter, Like
if all of that mattered was championships, it will be
Bill Russell like Kareem has.
Speaker 2 (30:56):
There there there were eight teams and when Bill Russell.
Speaker 9 (31:00):
But the lodger and Kareem has the exact same amount
of championships as MJ. Like why is his six somehow
less than MJ's Because for people at six and oho
Like again, the people have made up their mind, have
made up their mind. There is no convincing them. So
in that sense, like the idea of well, I can
get myself that much closer to Jordan and there'll be
(31:21):
no more argument.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
Yes, there will be Yeah, I'm andie, I'm the same
as you. It's not he's your go to. He's not
at this plat forty one almost so you either decided
he's not who he is. What was he playing for
he wants this is the last one where course short
on time and he has what he's playing for. I
think it is money because I think he views it
as money in relevancy, I'm worth the Do you know
who I am to this team?
Speaker 2 (31:40):
Do you know who I'm in the league? I'm worth
the fifty two?
Speaker 1 (31:42):
And lastly, real quick Bryce, how much I believe he
wants to play with both sons and then walking to
play with the Lakers. Not with no, no, no, not with
in the same team. I'm saying, both of my sons
are in the NBA. There's going to be a game
where all three James family members are on the court.
Speaker 9 (31:58):
That's that's insane. I don't mean your I don't mean
your supposition. I mean, like, the thought of that is
just bonkers. I of course it's gonna happen, Like I
really do feel like it is going to happen. And
truth be told, I have no idea how good Bryce
is or isn't. It's just it's a pretty amazing story.
(32:24):
Like I mean, it's it's both amazing, ridiculous, mind blowing,
you know, cartoonish like it's it's all of it, but
it is unique. And I and I Calvin to your point,
I do think because I do believe Lebron is aware
that at this point people have made up their minds.
The thing that he is looking to do is the
(32:47):
thing that nobody else has, like play with his son,
like play this many seasons, like be the Olympics MVP
at his age, like doing things that nobody else has done.
Because playing for the goat status honestly is a waste
of Lebron's time because again, these lists are imaginary and
(33:10):
he is not going to make up. There are old
heads for whom he There is nothing he can do.
And I think Lebron is smart enough to recognize that, Like,
he will not convince these people. That's a pointless motivation.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
Yeah, and now I'm with you on that.
Speaker 1 (33:27):
Just blaze a different pat that's the only thing he
can do. Andy, We're up against it, man, Thank you
so much. As always, Andy. Kevinisky won half of the
cambers on ex go gimme folgo listen to the pod
as well, the Lockdown Lakers podcast. And yeah, as you mentioned,
it should be doing some numbers this week for sure.
Speaker 9 (33:43):
Very excited.
Speaker 8 (33:44):
Man.
Speaker 9 (33:44):
It's always fun with you guys.
Speaker 2 (33:45):
Thanks all right it kay, appreciate it.

Mary Mack, He's gonna remix the song I did.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
It was like, wake that ass off. I got a
golden ticket, Golden ab pass.
Speaker 1 (34:32):
Yeah, don't ever dispect this again. No, by the way,
this is like what's your favorite song? This is on
that level. Okay, Neil Diamond, Bruce Springsting, whatever this is
on that level.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
Though, wake that ass up, wake that well? What did
he do? Vax that?
Speaker 1 (34:46):
Remember they did the vax, y'all remember that during the
COVID when they paid Juvy to do Vaxtad.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
Hit the vax.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
Everybody was mad at you falling for the scandemic, Juvie.

City defeating us today. That's right, were about to bet

Speaker 2 (35:10):
You got all right?
Speaker 4 (35:10):
So the last time I was here, I wound up
going three and oh that night for shackle City.
Speaker 2 (35:16):
I'm up to one sixty six and one sixty nine.
Speaker 1 (35:21):
Okay, all right, all right, so you want three and
o tonight, baby, here we go and pick it is
already in the books because the Red Sox they were
up yeah, seven nothing.
Speaker 2 (35:31):
What did you want a right? See? I got to
pick the Red Sox and that game. So you got one?
All right?
Speaker 4 (35:35):
Two more to go? You back you back five hundred? Yes, uh,
I got the oaklan Age tonight and I don't have
the other at the Oaklan Age and the Saint Louis Cardinals. Okay,
and I just got to get the numbers. Oh okay, quick,
just take the time. Why why are you looking for that?
Speaker 2 (35:51):
Mary?
Speaker 1 (35:52):
And I did want to know, so I want you
to find that. You can give us the scores, and
then we got to ask you something after that. Mary,
all right, what is the other thing you want to ask?
Speaker 5 (35:59):
Well?
Speaker 2 (35:59):
Why are you looking for that? Mary? And I want
to know? Did you get a chance to see her? Oh?
Stop it, what are you talking about?
Speaker 4 (36:05):
No?
Speaker 1 (36:05):
No, no, me and Mary wanted one to know Mary exactly.
We ain't want to know did you get a chance
to see her? We don't have time for all that. Oh,
but we're trying to help you out. Yes, did you
get a chance to see he did? Come on, man, No, no,
you keep thinking because I'm losing weight. It's not because
you're losing weight. We know you do this annually, right,
but Rogers, yeah, give it, that's what you uh.
Speaker 4 (36:29):
Oakland a's or winning three nothing in that game? And
I also have to say, oh, they're they're playing the way.
So I have the a's plus one and a half
runs there and Saint Louis, Saint Louis plus one and
a half. They play Pittsburgh. So remember, I'm not telling
you who to bet on. I'm telling you who. I'm
honest Louis care Rob, and be honest with you. I
don't know of all the times how much I didn't care.
(36:51):
This time top tier didn't care. No, I don't even know.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
You literally could have. I'm picking the Kelvin Washington's versus Roger. No.
I did not see her. No, I did not see her.
He acknowledged there's a her, though I did not see Ah.
Like that, we're getting closer. It's all good, Rob, g
is it just gonna be just She's just her?
Speaker 1 (37:10):
Like everybody has that uncle that ta that t o
that they've just been together thirty years but they won't commit.
Speaker 8 (37:16):
