Speaker 6 (06:48):
They're saying?

Speaker 10 (06:48):
Damn, this took a long time to get to this

Speaker 6 (07:06):
In Detroit?

Speaker 4 (07:07):
And I'm gonna say this really quick, worse quickly.

Speaker 5 (07:11):
Our program director wanted us to end our theme song
for the Sports Night with Parker and the Van. We
had a song, right, want us to end it? We
stopped it for one day. We got so many calls
of people who will I righth that he had to
put it back on spineless.

Speaker 6 (07:29):
Okay, what I say about?

Speaker 10 (07:30):
There?

Speaker 6 (07:30):
You go? All right, let's get through less than one
percent of your audience calls in.

Speaker 10 (07:33):
But yes, ninety no, ninety minutes of the game once
to been off here and the big contest of course,
Victor wemb Be Nyama and the Santonio Spurs rolled through
the OKAC thunder dethrone the defending champs sitting on the
other side of the bracket, the New York Knicks dominating
the Eastern Conference eleven straight wins. Folks around the NBA

(07:54):
in the league offices are calling it a quote dream
matchup wemby versus m men.

Speaker 6 (08:01):
Rob Parker, I'm assuming you agree.

Speaker 5 (08:02):
I do it is because it has a lot of
elements that you want. First of all, you have the
number one media market and they haven't won since Moby
Dick was a guppy, so you have that excitement. This
isn't the Yankees up from the nineties, you know what
I mean, where they were winning all the time and
it was great. But you know, after a while, if

(08:23):
you remember in Atlanta when they won all those divisions,
went to the playoffs and all that, people stopped showing
up after a while, right they had Oh I've been
through that. I saw it. It was great. All right, Yeah,
I had my moment. I'm good now. You know, this
is a fever pitch, top media market, downtroden organization that

(08:43):
hadn't been able to win in a long time. I'm
not talking about going to the finals of nineteen ninety nine,
hadn't been able to win since nineteen seventy three. Then
you add this unbelievable young player just twenty two years oh,
guiding this young and up and coming team, and you

(09:03):
have to say that's the future of the league. Like
it is, I'll either want to see Wimby or I
want to see the Knicks win finally, do you know
what I mean? Like there is something for everybody. You
can root against New York right even though the Nicks
are more favorable this time because they haven't won in
a long time, so people don't have that kind of

(09:24):
hatred like when the Yankees will winning all the time,
you know what I mean, Or like the Dodgers now
where people root against the Dodgers now because they win
all the time. So I think those two combinations set
for a perfect example and a perfect finals and probably
will be one of the biggest that they unless it's
a four or five game situation, you know what I mean,
and uncompetitive from them, This will be one of the

(09:47):
NBA's best finals in a long time.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
Yeah, Rob, I mean you hit on some of the
key stuff right there. I mean, you're talking about New
York City and you get the perfect fever pitch of it.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
Rob.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
It ain't just New right, all right, it's New York,
but it is specifically the Knicks. As you know, you
know from being from New York, being a New Yorker,
the Knicks are beloved. They love their Knicks. They right
and credit the Knick fan base. They ride with you,
whether you're good, you're bad. It's ugly, Ben Steelers still
showing up, fat, Joe's still showing up, you know, Spike

(10:20):
Lee showing up good, bad and different.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Now they're finally good, and that's good for the NBA.
And I think.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Sometimes as a fan first of basketball before even my
own teams, this is great for the league where I
don't need the Knicks being great all the time and
the fans going crazy and burning up the city every year.
But the Knicks having this moment, the Knicks having his
real shot is great for the league.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
Absolutely. Then you go to the other side, and I
thought about it.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
The only other thing I could think of a scenario
specifically this year in the NBA would have been maybe
if you're the Lakers, just because you get the New
York LA thing kind of have the Yankees, Dodgers you
would have gotten that finally, right, That's the only thing
I could think that maybe will be bigger than this.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
And is this lebron'slast year? Luca? Can Luca beat his
old teammate in Jalen Brunson.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
That's the only one I think could have maybe been
a bigger case scenario.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
But with this you already mentioned.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
It is this the future or is this the now?
With Victor wibin Yama, is he the awe man he's
on his way, he's coming, he's coming, Or is this
man he's already here, he has planted his flag, he
has arrived. You ain't gotta worry about it in the future.
It is now, And I think you get that. You
also get the literal visual of the two best players

(11:30):
on each team. You get David versus Goliath, the six
foot maybe six foot one Jalen Brunson doing his thing
versus the seven four five six wherever you want to
put wimby, And you get that kind of visual matchup.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Which I'm going to exploit if I'm the NBA.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
I'm putting so many David Goliath puns up in the stuff,
and I think that's gonna be great as well. So
it's the proven you know, like the veterans we've been
through a little more grizzled versus young start Spurs.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
So I think there's just so many elements. It's the
here they go again.

Speaker 1 (12:04):
The Spurs give them a few years, they seem to
always be in the finals. They're right back at it
again versus, as you mentioned, a team that hasn't been
since ninety nine and a team that hasn't won it
in what fifty three years?

Speaker 2 (12:15):
So I think it's a great scenario.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
Adam Silver, for all that this NBA season has had,
between gambling, tanking, is the All.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
Star Game good or not?

Speaker 1 (12:26):
All these other conversations, he can kind of at least
go whow, thank god the basketball guys gave us something
that I can kind of maybe hang my hat on
the link, you know, could be a great check mark
for the NBA and for Adam Silver.

Speaker 5 (12:40):
All Right, it's some prediction time, and we do want
to hear from you as well, eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox, But first we'll give hours. I'll start
and I'll just make it real simple. Yeah, I love,
I really do the Spurs and what they've been able
to do. I think the whole process of elimination, and

(13:02):
oh my god, you know, like they need to take steps.
They took steps. They took giant steps, not baby steps.
And these steps are going to be completed because you
have somebody that breaks the mold, is a trendsetter, is
leading the way. You're watching it right before your eyes.

(13:25):
And he's not perfect, he's not a finished product. But
there's no way. I cannot think that Weinby's gonna get
it done. I just I think that Wemby's gonna get
it done. So I'm going with the Spurs in six
games over the New York Knickerbockers.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
Everything you said, I totally get.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
They've been so hungry Rob, and I'll give him credit, like,
as usually a young team, you look lost, you look
you know, you look fumbled and disheveled. They look locked
in like this is year four, five, six for them
as opposed to being and twenty two. That their main
three guys in there. But I'm gonna go with the
Knicks in seven in a very very tight and competitive series.

(14:10):
But I'm going next simply because Rob, I'm just going
with history.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
That the older not ancients, but older.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
Veteran kind of been through the playoffs last few years,
got close, could have been them last year, but the
Pacers got them.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
I'm just going with that only because of that. I'm
picking them.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
Winby's remarkable castlan, a normal two year vert Harper and
a normal veteran. But I'm going with the Knicks just
being able to grind it out, to grown, man it
out and find a way to win.

Speaker 5 (14:40):
I think you're making a huge mistake. And remember this.
Let's mark this down. You'll be on the wrong side
of NBA history when this is all said and done.
You can't get on the Winby bandwagon after this by
going with that ragtag Nick team that's been put together.
I'm not going to have it. You're off the Winby
and wagon.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
We're all on it.

Speaker 4 (15:01):
Everyone knows it's whims.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
You want to be ahead of you want on have it? No, no,
do ahead of it.

Speaker 5 (15:11):
You don't want to be You're getting to be on
the wrong side of history. That one I just told you,
don't do that.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
I'm the one who set up here and told you Wimby, No, No,
you're the best player ever you. Yeah, but that set
up here and told no, what is you Winmy okay?

Speaker 5 (15:25):
Scenes you picked okay See in game six and seven?
Shut up, because I'm not bother what you says. Now
you're gonna sit there about I picked. I meant Whimmy
is the best player ever. But I'm gonna pick okay
See in game six or seven. How does that make sense?
It makes this is? This is his last year?

Speaker 4 (15:45):
Makes no sense?

Speaker 8 (15:45):
Way?

Speaker 2 (15:46):
This is his last year.

Speaker 4 (15:46):
No, I'm trying to tell you every time.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
What do you do? Hold on? Wait, pump the brakes? No, No,
I see what's going here. I see what's going on here.

Speaker 5 (15:56):
And I can pick Wimpy to win a series, but
I'm not crowning him. I've to play three years on
the crown.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
If he doesn't win a series, doesn't mean he could
go on and have one watch.

Speaker 5 (16:04):
You see when the Knicks lose, You'll be like, well,
I go, you're right, Mike Brown, I guess can't. Yeah,
I guess they reverted back to when they lost to
the Pacer. Yeah, I guess they didn't play. Anybody go
all in on Wimby to get on the bandwagon. Don't
be left behind. Everyone knows it's whim.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
Get on it.

Speaker 4 (16:29):
Now, Matey's on it. I don't believe it. Alex is
on it.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
We're all ought to believe you.

Speaker 4 (16:36):
This is a Wimby station, a Weimby's show.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
Rogie, you already know what it is, singing Go New York,
Go New York.

Speaker 4 (16:44):
No, we don't put that on.

Speaker 5 (16:45):
I don't want to hear that it eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox. We're not doing that. That's a
song from the nineties. Get with it. My song's from
the sixth.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
Song from the set sixties.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
Lol, your song been in the grave at twenty five thirty?

Speaker 5 (17:01):
Who are you picking? How many games? Eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox. You want to hear your predictions?
How many games? And why are you gonna? Are you
gonna be with Kelvin and Buck history and be on
the wrong side of history?

Speaker 4 (17:15):
Are you with me and Wimby b one nose?

Speaker 6 (17:19):
It's whim.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
And I still dare sit the song there?

Speaker 5 (17:25):
It is all right. It is the odd couple, Rob Parker,
Kelvin Washington. On this Worship Wednesday. We want to hear
from you eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox, where
we deliver insight, not noise, and we value your calls.

Speaker 4 (17:36):
Call in.

Speaker 5 (17:37):
We want to hear your opinion as well, do it
now and you know what you else you need to do, Alex, stick.

Speaker 7 (17:44):
And stay unless you're like uncle Kelvin on the wrong
side of history in the US of Ay, no.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
Doubt, Ge, you better jump in on this acting like
that his.

Speaker 4 (17:52):
Mic is broken. Let me tell you this, Kelvin.

Speaker 5 (17:55):
When M drive first came to me, I'll be honest,
like the Knicks, I've never heard of it.

Speaker 1 (18:02):
I know, I know mister born in New York, I
ain't heard of him either, But honestly, man, I started
paying attention, as you know, to what was going on
my body, trying to get in shape, so I had
to pay attention to M drive.

Speaker 4 (18:12):
Same after forty you know I'm hovering around now.

Speaker 6 (18:16):
You know we're saying it's counting.

Speaker 5 (18:17):
Rob energy drops, weight won't move, the gym stops giving
back what you put in.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
And then at a certain point you start the question like.

Speaker 4 (18:25):
Is it me it's not.

Speaker 5 (18:28):
It's testosterone, did you hear me? It's testosterone. It declines
after forty and it takes everything with you.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
So that is why M drive was created. It's built
exactly for that. You take two capsules in the morning,
or you make the smoothie or shape. And with clinically
testing ingredients they have, they support healthy testosterone, energy and metabolism.

Speaker 4 (18:48):
Here's what really got me. A scientist named Gary Keyhole.

Speaker 5 (18:52):
He built this thing almost twenty years ago for himself
after the same change.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
That's right. And look, we've been talking about it for
so long.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
You and I were trying to get mindful of our body,
mindful of our health. We're trying to get in shape.
It's important and AM drive is absolutely a part of that.

Speaker 4 (19:07):
Over one million men use it.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
And here's what's cool.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
Sixty day money back guarantee sixty days.

Speaker 4 (19:15):
And we're in the middle of this and so far,
let me tell you.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
It is working. Your boys are getting the results. You

My girlfriend is a Knicks fan, so I'm going with
the Spurs in six.

Speaker 4 (21:47):
Very nice, Derek, I love it, Derek.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
Now you're not coming over to my house of rob house,
you know. Don't you want to make her happy?

Speaker 4 (21:55):
No?

Speaker 6 (21:55):
No, no, don't worry about that.

Speaker 9 (21:58):
Every time you guys say play the bit, everybody knows
it's Wemby. I always sing and Wemby has slam dunks
and sits, stands back and hits that three.

Speaker 4 (22:11):
Hey, don't worry.

Speaker 5 (22:12):
We got the song coming on to debut in the
last hour of the show.

Speaker 4 (22:15):
I have a fuller version of it.

Speaker 2 (22:17):
Can't hear my headphones already.

Speaker 6 (22:19):
Very nice.

Speaker 4 (22:19):
Hey Derek, are you there? Let's hear it. This is
for you. Everyone knows swim Appreciate you.

Speaker 9 (22:28):
Derek and b had slam Dunks can sit back and
hit that three.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
I love it, Alex, you gotta get that.

Speaker 4 (22:37):
Appreciate it all right.

Speaker 5 (22:39):
Damon in New York, you're on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (22:42):
What's up, Damon? How are you?

Speaker 6 (22:47):
Damon?

Speaker 2 (22:47):
Going on?

Speaker 11 (22:49):
Ahead?

Speaker 2 (22:51):
How you brothers doing today? All right, we're doing great, man,
Thank you?

Speaker 11 (22:55):
All right, longtime listener.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
Is my third time call. We appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (23:00):
Thank you, Derek ahead.

Speaker 6 (23:01):
Yeah, oh oh it's Damon.

Speaker 4 (23:04):
By the way, Damon, Damon, Demi.

Speaker 11 (23:06):
Okay, okay, yeah, tell Vin.

Speaker 9 (23:09):
I like you, man, but I'm mad to go with
mister rab on this one. Man.

Speaker 3 (23:13):
I'm gotta I gotta san Antonio in six.

Speaker 5 (23:16):
There you go another one. You know why, because everybody
knows it's wimby. Everyone knows it's whimsy. Right, there you go.
Damon is on board. He called it from New York
and he picking his spurs. Let's squeeze in one more.
How about Roger and Michigan. You're on the odd couple
of Fox Sports Radio. We're going for the hat trick.

(23:39):
Where are you, Roger?

Speaker 11 (23:41):
I'm on though WI Charlotte, West, Michigan, and I just
want to run something down to you. Everybody up here
was like all the Pistons, the Pistons. I told them
guys two years ago, Man, the Pistons are gonna trash
out and die. Then they did. I used to watch
the Spurs player when I lived down there years ago,
and I saw them knock down Michael George than the
Bulls in their second year championship. Beaver and I've been

(24:03):
a Spurs fan since. I'm picking the Spurs and six
and it's gonna be a winby thirty five foot splashdown says.

Speaker 4 (24:11):
There we go, every one, though it was a twimy unbelievable.
We screened three thousand calls to this radio show. Had
all three were wemby calls? Is that unbelievable?

Speaker 2 (24:25):
Shout out to the two.

Speaker 4 (24:28):
Nineteen seven of unbelievable, Right, Rogie and.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
Their sweating Rogerie got carpal tunnel from answer the phone
all those times day.

Speaker 5 (24:38):
Ro robbg was working so hard he thought he was
in the Ten Commandments, you know, what I'm saying.

Speaker 6 (24:43):
I'm just saying.

Speaker 2 (24:46):
You can say that.

Speaker 1 (24:49):
Oh boy, all right, shout to everybody all two thousand
nine d and ninety seven.

Speaker 2 (24:53):
I couldn't get through. We appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (24:55):
Why we got more on this, including the coaches angle
as well.

Speaker 4 (25:00):
Monty, you better be on board.

Speaker 6 (25:02):
I can't wait.

Speaker 2 (25:02):
Yeah, that's here, Manzi, Belanjos who you got.

Speaker 8 (25:05):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm Eastern,
four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
Well, I tell you, Manzi, thank you so much. It's
just just amazing. The enlightenment is crazy. Our couple Robert
Kelvin on a worship Wednesday, Tyreck Player of the Day.
Shechl City on the way as well. But again, we're
getting you ready for Game one of the NBA Finals
in probably less than an hour now, Rob g. We
talked about this last year, almost a year ago exactly

(25:40):
the Knicks made the decision to move on from Tips.
Then they got Mike Brown and so now we just
talked about it with Monty eleven game wedding streak, they
haven't lost in like a month and a half, and
they got a new coach and he did his thing.

Speaker 10 (25:54):
Yeah, they haven't lost it over forty days, and this
eleven game stretch statistically the single gradest eleven games rich
regular old postseason in NBA history.

Speaker 5 (26:02):
Just like you were telling me about OKAC and their
numbers how great they were.

Speaker 6 (26:06):
But go ahead, that's cool. I picked the Spurson that series, right, I.

Speaker 4 (26:08):
Know you did, but saying how numbers can play.

Speaker 6 (26:12):
Out this time? All effects?

Speaker 5 (26:14):
Right, we talked about it. Oh, they got their rating,
was hired than any other ta Okay.

Speaker 10 (26:18):
That's right, You're gonna play the games. But the New
York Knicks Tom Tableaux got to the Eastern Conference finals,
got acted favorite of Mike Brown, and Mike Brown very
quietly has turned this team into a juggernaut. So I
have to assume now, Rob Parker, you especially, you're gonna
admit now that Mike Brown is just a great head coach.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
Right, Rob Parker admitt No way.

Speaker 4 (26:37):
No how.

Speaker 5 (26:39):
This Nick run is an indictment of Tibbs. This is
why Tibbs was fired last year. Kelvin belly Egg couldn't
believe it, didn't think he should be fired This is
why Tibbs was fired because they beat the defending champs
last year and then lost at the first two games
at home and wind up getting to the finals. And

(27:01):
this is just a continuation. It's no surprise coming into
this season. The Knicks had a clear path. They didn't
live up to the expectations on how people expected them
to play, but this was their chance. People are acting
like this is out of nowhere. This is not out
of anywhere. Milwaukee was down, Indiana was down, Boston was down.

(27:23):
The Knicks was supposed to be here from the East.
They were, and they took a wall and they got
here with some play. But I'm not crowning Mike Brown,
Charlie Brown, whatever you want to call him. Yet if
he went the championship, then we'll have another conversation.

Speaker 4 (27:39):
But the Knicks were here last year.

Speaker 5 (27:41):
They were supposed to be here last year after they
beat the Celtics, the defending champs, and they didn't get
it done.

Speaker 4 (27:48):
I told you Tim should be fired. The Knicks was smart.

Speaker 5 (27:52):
They got rid of them because you can't afford to
have a team not win when they knock off the
defending champs and then lose back back games at homeless
thought this year.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
Rob, how are you gonna tell me they should have
fired Tims? They fire him, that's fine. They bring in
Mike Brown.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
He's gotten the team.

Speaker 1 (28:08):
To the finals first time in twenty six, twenty seven years,
And you don't want to give me an the credit
that would make any sense. You said they need to
make a change. They made the change, they got the guy.
They're here now, and you still ain't you going back
to Timbs now?

Speaker 5 (28:21):
Alter in Diamis, it's an indictment because he should have
got there last year and these team should have got
there last year.

Speaker 4 (28:28):
That's what the indictmental.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
But you, but you also are saying how easy their
path was this year. So Timms had a much harder
path and was a game away from getting to the finals.
But Mike Brown, according to you and others, had the
easier path.

Speaker 2 (28:44):
Atlanta was easy. Uh, Philly was easy, The Cavs were easy.

Speaker 1 (28:48):
So it should be nothing on Mike Brown, right, because
Tims had a much harder road according to you know
the way we're trying.

Speaker 5 (28:54):
To say it, No, no, no, Last year they beat
the defending champs. Last year they beat the defending champs,
and Buddy in their uncle expected the Knicks to get
to the finals. That was the disappointment last year. TIS
didn't respond. They didn't respond to TIBs after game one. Okay,
you lost game one. You gave up a fourteen point
lead with two and a half minutes to go, and

(29:15):
then you should come.

Speaker 4 (29:16):
Back right, shake that game off. What they do in
game two?

Speaker 5 (29:20):
They got blowed out in that game, losing by eight
or ten or twelve points or whatever it was.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
But what I'm saying is, so, why can't Mike Brown
get the credit?

Speaker 5 (29:27):
If every when they win a championship, I'll give Mike
Brown credit.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
This team was already ain't.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
Even gave it no credit. You told him if they
get to the finals, you'll give a credit.

Speaker 5 (29:34):
I gotta wait to see it.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
I wait, I gotta wait.

Speaker 5 (29:39):
Mike Brown is so good, he's been fired like five times.
Look at his I'm not acting like by making it
like he's coach. I'm not acting like. What I'm saying
is he came into a pressure cooker. Rarely do you
walk into something and the finals is the only thing.
Usually somebody's fired because the team isn't good and you
order mid or something and you walk in you're supposed

(30:00):
to improve. Com is don't win a national championship. Anybody
can win a national championship.

Speaker 6 (30:04):
What championship?

Speaker 1 (30:05):
How we go back to college where college coaches are
every seventy to you smiling, You even know what.

Speaker 5 (30:09):
I'm saying, the idea that you win and I'm not.
They didn't win anything yet when they losed, and we'll see,
we'll see what when they if they lose to the
young Wimby and the twenty two year old team and
they got the veteran team and they lose this series.
I want to hear what the narrative will be on
the conversation, and the ain't gonna be the same. I'll
tell you what.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
I highly doubt it's gonna be more about winby because
what it'll take for them to win. I'll just say this,
this is I agree Mike Brown still has something to prove.
He's been good as a coach before you got My
team's better. I agree with that, But I'm saying I
give him credit for when the Knicks got stagnant and
we're like, I don't know, something seems off, Like what's
going on? Remember they had the ten game lose the Street,

(30:50):
they right at the ship. We're like, oh, here come
the next they they're being terrible right at the ship.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
Getting the postseason, you're down to one of the Hawks.

Speaker 1 (30:57):
Oh see there they go right at the ship and
opened up the offense.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
And now he's got Michael Bridges looking like he is.
He's peaked. You know.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
John starts before that Game seven and he can't miss.
He's got the offense loan. He's running through the high
post with town. So I'll give him credit. Nobody's saying
he's the return of Phil Jackson or anything, but I'll
give him credit that he's found a way to ignite
this offense, ignaite this team. Eleven in a row and
twenty four point win margin is crazy, So I got
to give him some credit. But now he still has

(31:27):
one more level to to earn our respect in the finals.

Speaker 5 (31:31):
Why give him credit. I'll wait till it's all over.
I got no credit for Mike Brown. What's what is
your American Express card?

Speaker 1 (31:38):
Why'd you give him some American Express given you got
twenty two cards. I see it every day. You pull
out your money, you pull out your credit card. I
don't know why you do that.

Speaker 4 (31:45):
What is that all about trying to figure out what
I'm doing here.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
That's all Man, be sitting here talking to me dead
in my eyes.

Speaker 1 (31:50):
You know, I just think the Lakers need it and
then pull it out twenty two dollars in my face.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
Why I don't want to see that. Rob.

Speaker 4 (31:57):
I'm still carrying cash, Alex.

Speaker 2 (31:58):
That's how old I can cash to. I'm with you
on that all right.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
All the way, we got your tyrec play today Shekel
City as well, and a little bit more. Getting you
ready for Game one of the NBA Finals. It is

Speaker 8 (33:50):
Welcome to Shekel City, the home base for Rob Parker's
daily Dicks against the sprat.

Speaker 5 (34:02):
All right, one and two last night, one fifty three
and one, twenty three, thirty games over five hundred. How
about them apples, It's not too shabby this late in
the game tonight, my best bet, I'm taking the Spurs.

Speaker 4 (34:20):
Minus four and a half hosting the Nickabockers. Nickson do
four loss?

Speaker 6 (34:26):
How about a double digit loss? Nickson do four loss?

Speaker 5 (34:28):
It'll happen in San Antonio that Yankees minus one and
a half.

Speaker 6 (34:33):
They're hosting the.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
Yankees?

Speaker 4 (34:38):
When how how?

Speaker 2 (34:41):
How how it told you that's not funny? Nomo rod?
Since I saw the video, I didn't realize he got
hit in the face that hard? My guys?

Speaker 6 (34:50):
How how how? All right?

Speaker 12 (34:54):
Coming back at me and the Brewers minus one and
a half hosting the Giant, There we go, who is
minus one and a half? Yankees minus one and a half,
and the best bets Spurs minus two and a half.

Speaker 4 (35:07):
I remember, I'm not telling you who to bet on.
I'm telling you who I better.

Speaker 2 (35:14):
All right, there you have it, Checho City rob G.

Speaker 1 (35:17):
What is this talk about the idea that the Knicks
being the biggest long shot ever?

Speaker 10 (35:23):
Yeah, it's crazy to say about a team that's one
eleven straight by a record number. But according to multiple
sports books, and I know Ross Men's a lot of
time in the sports books.

Speaker 6 (35:31):
Oh yeah, the New York.

Speaker 10 (35:33):
Knicks coming into these playoffs were over twenty to one.

Speaker 6 (35:37):
Odds to win the NBA Championship.

Speaker 10 (35:39):
Part of it being that everybody was on the Thunder
and the Spurs and the Eastern Conference think they were
the third seed. Everybody was on Boston, so nobody was
really buying these New York Knicks.

Speaker 5 (35:49):
So now no, because this season was sure to be
about getting there, and then they sputtered, you know what
I mean. So people going into the playoffs were like, okay.

Speaker 10 (35:58):
So now if they get it done, they will statistically
be the longest long shot in NBA history to win
an NBA championship.

Speaker 6 (36:07):
Something.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
Nothing, I'm gonna go nothing.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
I get the literal numbers of it all. Excuse me,
but they've been in the postseason. They've got a core
that's been together. Like to me, this isn't like out
of the blue like some random idy. I feel more
like the Pacers. And I know they had a great
second half, but Rob and I admit it, we talked
about it. We didn't even think about them. Nobody was

(36:32):
really talking about the Pacers. It was all their Nick's
gonna do something all Boston. Obviously, this like there were
other conversations being specifically in the Eastern Conference.

Speaker 2 (36:42):
This Nick team. Rob said it.

Speaker 1 (36:44):
They were supposed to get here, or at least be here.
They were supposed to make some noise. They've got good players.
I think Jaylen Brunts is the star. I know Rob doesn't,
and so they've got good players. I just don't think
it's that crazy to me, Like, if the Knicks winning,
I don't think anybody's gonna be shocked, even if you
picked the Spur. I don't think Rob would be shocked,
even though he's picked the Spurs at least I'm speaking
for him.

Speaker 2 (37:03):
But I view more than I would have been to
lose this.

Speaker 6 (37:06):
What would you think?

Speaker 5 (37:07):
What like, seriously, if the Nicks lose this series, not
just shocked, would you be like you'll be shocked at
a young team in winby one?

Speaker 2 (37:16):
No? I think this No, because I told you they
had me.

Speaker 1 (37:19):
I didn't even want I wrote with the thunder based
off already, Hey, they already want it. They got to,
you know, get knocked off, give them that credit. The
Spurs been scary all season. They've beating all the good teams.
They beat up on the Thunder.

Speaker 4 (37:31):
Even Thunder during the regular shiit I know, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (37:33):
So the Spurs aren't they're freaks. They're freaks.

Speaker 1 (37:36):
Stefan Castle is not supposed to be this doggish, this
strong at twenty one right, taking it to people hungry
on both ends of the court. Winby's not supposed to
drop forty and twenty and block every shot and care
and cry and be so much like they're weird. They're
an anomaly, which is why again I picked Like normally,
i'd have picked the Nicks in five or six, some

(37:57):
young random team that made it say it was fluky. No,
the Spurs are scary and they absolutely can win this thing,
so I don't. But also I don't think anybody will
be shocked if the next one, I think, or do
would you?

Speaker 2 (38:10):
I know you picked the Spurs, you'd be shocked at
the next one.

Speaker 5 (38:13):
I would be shocked if they beat Wimby. I would, Okay,
I would, despite I really think Wemby is We're gonna
see something that we're not supposed to see or haven't seen.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
Well, speaking of Winby. I think he might be under
some pressure.
