a live audience. That's right, All right, let's go big show.
Let me welcome in my co host. He is Keith
McPherson from WFAN in New York, filling in for kelvin Washington.
(02:43):
He did it yesterday. Here he is again, Keith, my man,
what's happening? How are you you're hold on?
Speaker 4 (02:50):
I already popped my headphones out. Let's get that back
in order, and then.
Speaker 5 (02:57):
I'm happy to be here.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
I feel like I went to sleep and the day
passed and I'm right back.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
The time flew.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
I'm ready to rock and I feel good because I
got the reps last night. This is my first time today,
so I gotta do better. I gotta crush it today.
I think I did all right yesterday, but there's always
room for improvement, so let's get it.
Speaker 5 (03:15):
No doubt, you did fine yesterday and great to have
you again tomorrow. Martin Weiss will be in for Kelvin Washington,
so we got fill ins until.
Speaker 4 (03:25):
Can shut out to Martin. Jarton inspired me. Martin inspired me,
so you know, free plug for the homies. I was
watching Martin last week fill in for you, and he
had on a hoodie that said God bless whoever hating
on me, and I'm like, yo, is he from my area?
Is he from Jersey Jersey? He's not from Jersey. We
do have a friend in common though. He knows Joel
(03:47):
Solomon and this company. The brothers that started this company
are from Lakewood, New Jersey, not too far from where
I grew up in Ocean Township, Mammouth County, New Jersey.
Speaker 5 (03:56):
So yeah, that's wild.
Speaker 10 (03:57):
I actually just was in Vegas one morning Sunday morning,
at like a well Saturday night Sunday morning, I saw
somebody walking with that sweatshirt and I just googled it
and bought it right then on the spot. So the
marketing was great. But now Joe Salvin told me to
look out for you. So happy to do the show?
Speaker 7 (04:14):
Do you today?
Speaker 5 (04:14):
My guy?
Speaker 7 (04:15):
There?
Speaker 5 (04:16):
We go appreciate it. Bro All right, hey, let's welcome
into Odd Couple crew, because we wouldn't be able to
do this fine radio program without them. Rob g is
our producer on Mexican that's right. Alex is our Engineer's
your challenge.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
No doubt. Of course, Martin Weiss is at the end
of that.
Speaker 5 (04:34):
He'll keep us.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Updated throughout the program.
Speaker 5 (04:37):
And of course Elijah is our social media guru. And
we should say that for over forty years, tyrach dot
com has been helping customers find the right tires for how,
what and where they drive ship fast and free. That's
right back, by free road hazard protection with convenient installation
(04:58):
options like mobile tire inst relation. Tyre reck dot com
the way tire buying should be. So a lot to
get into. On this TV theme song Thursday and and Keith,
just real quick, your favorite TV show. When we come
back from breaks, we do play TV themes. Do you
have one off the top of your head or Alex?
(05:19):
Can you can tell Alex at some point so you
could get your favorite TV theme song?
Speaker 4 (05:24):
Does it have to be like a sitcom?
Speaker 11 (05:27):
No?
Speaker 6 (05:27):
Any TV show, any TV show, an anime, cartoon, whatever
you want, mister dragon ball Z, stop it.
Speaker 5 (05:35):
You just you just got a look at that.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
POKEMONA very best. I don't really like. I mean, I
watched Family Matters, I watched you know, my brother and me.
I watched Fresh Prints, but I wouldn't say they're my favorites.
I watched them, but I don't have a I don't
have a number one. I gotta think. Let me give
me some time to think about.
Speaker 5 (05:57):
But you got the animate so there we go, all right.
Trade in the NFL, as we know, the NFL is
a lot of teams jockeying, some trades, people being released,
all kinds of movement expected as the free agent frenzy
is about to hit us, and of course teams need
to make moves so that they free up money to
make other moves. Rob g, you have the news in Chicago.
(06:19):
There was a movement with the Bear.
Speaker 12 (06:22):
That's right, big movement with Rob's favorite team, his favorite quarterback.
Kayler Williams all about Caleb, I don't I Hey, we
are not playing the damn song as we are.
Speaker 5 (06:31):
We are not we are if we are? Yes, Alex
is looking for it. I want to make sure that
Keith understands where I am with Caleb Williams. Where everybody
else there were lukewarm on the brother because he got
painted nails or whatever. He wasn't good. Rob, that's because
he wasn't good.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
I'm just saying, but go ahead, robbed you.
Speaker 5 (06:52):
And any of it.
Speaker 12 (06:52):
Yeah, we'll get to Alex at effning for it. Big
trade in the NFL. Kayla Williams number one wide receiver
guard traded to the Buffalo Bills. Josh Allen's got a
new number one wide receiver. In summary, the Bills are
sending a twenty twenty six second round picked to Chicago
in exchange for DJ Moore and a fifth rounder this year.
The Bills will be guaranteeing fifteen and a half million
(07:15):
dollars of More's twenty three and a half million dollar
base salary in twenty twenty eight to facilitate the deal.
So long story short, DJ Moore out of Chicago and
the Bear suddenly flush with cash.
Speaker 5 (07:28):
No doubt about it. You got it, Alex, Here we go.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
This is for you. Keith, Here we go. And then
I saw his toss.
Speaker 5 (07:36):
I'm a believer and not a.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
Trace of doubt in my mind.
Speaker 5 (07:45):
I'm in love with Kleb. I'm a believer.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
I couldn't leave him if I tried.
Speaker 12 (07:56):
That's the last time we're playing it, because it's gotta
be the Sam Darnold version.
Speaker 5 (07:59):
I remember he never paid up. I'm gonna do it.
I'm gonna do it all right. Here we go, I'm
gonna start here, Keith, and I get it. I know
people hate to see you make move parts again. But
more was coming off. Some career lows fifty receptions, only
six hundred and eighty two yards, both career lows, six touchdowns.
(08:21):
And this was his third year with the Bears, and
you know, there was a lot of money on the
table there, and the Bears figured that they could get
that kind of production out of somebody else. Now for
the Bills, the Bills, I understand, they need receivers, and
they felt like, you know, here's this. I don't know
if it's a reason to celebrate because their receivers aren't
(08:43):
that good, But I look at it as a desperation
move in this case where Moore is at that time
in Chicago. Again, he's not coming in off of a
high or he did great. They don't move you if
you're the Bears because you had a great season, right.
They don't move you because they think we can't win
without you. That's not when you move people. You move
(09:04):
people when you go you're making too much money and
you weren't able to produce. So I'm not gonna be
mad at the Bears from moving on from a guy
who caught some big touchdowns for him, made some plays,
but overall is coming off of career lows. And if
I'm the Bills, do you feel better today? Now you
feel a little bit better? Did you solve all your
(09:25):
offensive issues and your wide receiver issues. I don't think
that that happened today either. So I think the Bears
made out better in this case, better than the Bills. Yeah,
the Bears won the trade.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
When I saw this trade come out, I immediately thought
about Joe Brady and his connection to DJ Moore from Carolina.
I immediately thought about Josh Allen the turnover machine. Now,
anybody that follows me, whether it's online or on air,
since twenty eighteen, I had a campaign against Josh Allen
the turnover machine. They wanted to talk about Dak that
(09:58):
year that he had all those interceptions. I'm like, yo,
Josh Allen does the same thing. And this year, going
into the Denver game, I have a video on my Instagram, Twitter, TikTok.
Speaker 5 (10:07):
Everywhere where. I basically read his mind.
Speaker 4 (10:10):
I'm like, he's gonna have a costly fumble, He's gonna
have a costly interception, maybe too he did have to.
He's gonna miss a wide open receiver. He's gonna lose
the game for them against the Denver Broncos defense. They
were crying in the club, remember after that game. They
were all they were all crying after they lost that
Denver Broncos game, and the Bills mafia got real loud, right,
they kick Sean McDermott to the curb, and then they
(10:33):
go out there and say all that about Keon Coleman,
and what did they just do? They paid a high
price for a receiver that's getting up there in age
when you got all these receivers coming in in the draft.
And what they will not do, what they refuse to do,
is blame Josh Allen. They want to say every year
he doesn't have the weapons. He's got two tight ends,
he's got Khalil Shakir, he's got guys. They got Brandon Cooks,
(10:55):
they got Curtis Simmy. They got enough guys to make
it happen. And he's got one of the best running
backs in the league. But what they won't do is
put it on Josh Allen. They will never just say
Josh didn't play good enough, Josh didn't take care of
the football going into the half. Josh made a mistake.
They will not put it on Josh Allen so now.
Speaker 5 (11:11):
And he made a huge mistake.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
Mean, they're picking up fifteen million dollars of this contract
and they gave up a second round pick for DJ Moore.
You could draft. Hey, listen, we'll see how it plays out.
But to me, this is the Bills mafia being loud,
and this is them folding. This is Billy being folding,
saying yeah, we'll go get a guy. What's the price
for aj Brown? If you just paid this much for
(11:33):
DJ Moore, I'm with you.
Speaker 5 (11:36):
I don't look at it as DJ Moore is not
going to fix Josh Allen and fix the problems that
they have there. I get it. You know, he's had
some good years and whatnot three years in Chicago, but
last year was a clear sign. You don't give up
on a guy like that if you really believe that
(11:57):
he's a part of your offense, a big part with
your quarterback. You know, like you just don't go away
from people if you don't have to. But they looked
at it and said, not at twenty nine million or whatever.
He was right old, we can do better. And again
there are receivers out there, are people that you can replace.
And I think the Bills. If you're a Bills fan,
(12:18):
are you excited, thrilled or do you feel like, Okay,
we're in the mix again for the AFC Championship Game.
I don't know if that's that kind of move today.
Speaker 4 (12:28):
And for the Bears, if you go back and remember
he was politicking and campaigning for them to keep Justin Fields.
Look at the season Justin Fields just had the last
two seasons Justin Field's that's a great point. Nobody's listening
to you, Dj Moore, and then not for nothing, Ben
Johnson comes in the Mad Scientists. Let Ben Johnson cook
with Luther Burden and Romo o'doonsay. They don't need DJ Moore.
(12:49):
Dj Moore, he was never really as big on Kayleb
Williams as you are ever And even though Kayleb Williams
threw him the ball I met. There was one game
I bet on DJ Moore to score and he did.
I think it was the Niners game. Everybody score but
DJ Moore. I'm like, man, they don't even need this guy.
Speaker 5 (13:04):
And so they made the move. Today eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox is our telephone number, eight seven
seven nine to nine six sixty three sixty nine. Where
are you on this? Did the Bills get better? Did
they fix one of their problems? Are you if you're
a Bears fan or you're crying in your beard that
(13:26):
DJ Moore has gone north to Buffalo? Where are you?
Who won this trade? Who made the right move here?
You hate to give up players sometimes, and I get it.
People get comfortable and familiar with people, Keith, but there's
change in the NFL and sometimes you got to move on,
(13:47):
and you'd rather give up on somebody a year early
than a year late and coming off career lows. I
think the Bears did the right thing. We want to
hear from you on this TV theme song Thursday. Rob Parker,
Keith mcpheerson in for Kelvin Washington right here on Fox

that on TV theme song Thursday? Do you Alex Kith?
What was that that took me back to after school?
Speaker 4 (15:50):
That took me back to, you know, my brother coming
home with the VHS tapes that were that were in
Japanese dubbed and like they had the English sub titles
underneath them, Dragon Ball Z from Goku to Vegeta to Go,
ten to the Trunks to Go, Like I was a
kid watching that consistently. Find out next time on Dragon
(16:13):
Ball Z. That was a blast from the pass right there.
Speaker 5 (16:16):
There you go. It is a TV theme song Thursday
here on the Odd Couple. But we're talking the Bears
and the Bills and the trade DJ Moore? Where are you?
That's right? Who won the trade? You like of your
Bill's friend, Bill's god. DJ Moore showing up? And if
you're Chicago, you disappointed mad that he's not there anymore.
Let's kick it off in Chicago with Harold. You're on
(16:40):
the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up? Harold?
Speaker 7 (16:43):
What's up?
Speaker 8 (16:44):
Guys? What's going on?
Speaker 11 (16:45):
You guys?
Speaker 7 (16:45):
Names?
Speaker 5 (16:46):
Keith right, Yes, Keith McPherson.
Speaker 8 (16:48):
What's what's up? You must be around my age if
you're talking about VHS's of Dragon ball Z. Because I'm
turning forty tomorrow, so I'm thirty seven.
Speaker 5 (16:59):
Yeah, my brother, Yeah, my brother is ten years older
than he. So he introduced it to me and Harold,
Happy birthday tomorrow, forty years old. That's a milestone. Very nice.
Speaker 11 (17:11):
Thank you.
Speaker 8 (17:11):
My knees feel old though, my knees feels six me.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
All right, you're DJ more the Bears?
Speaker 5 (17:18):
What do you think?
Speaker 7 (17:19):
I don't like it?
Speaker 8 (17:20):
I'm still I'm still not. I haven't processed it yet.
We love DJ. When it came to the big catches,
he caught them all as much as his stats went down, total.
I know Caleb had to divide the ball a lot,
but his PERR was still up there. But I guess
it's Chicago fans. We just don't trust Rome yet, but
eventually he has to step it up. Colton, of course,
(17:42):
is our best receiver, and we've got lu De Burton,
so the next wave is coming in. But as far
as when you need the go to guy, I think
it's fair to say last season, at least, I can't
speak for the other seasons, it was DJ. That's okay,
we need a game winning touchdown, we need something to
save the day. And and DJ state healthy two majority.
That's the thing too. A lot of people don't talk about.
(18:03):
Luther and Rome were injured periodically. Even Coltston got injured
towards the end, DJ was consistently healthy. So as a
Bears fan, I am afraid of that health factor. But
Bill's got the number one receiver they wanted. They've been
going at this for a while. The wide receiver market's
kind of banned right now. It's DJ Moore, Stefan Diggs
or AJ Brown, So it's like between those three, I think,
(18:26):
in my opinion, DJ's probably the safest.
Speaker 5 (18:29):
Yeah, I would say safest. Yeah. AJ Brown might be
the one that could be over the top, you know
what I mean, if he performed well and had his
head on right. But we appreciate it, Thanks, Harold, appreciate you.
James in Virginia, you're on the Odd Couple of Fox
Sports Radio. What's up, James?
Speaker 2 (18:44):
How are you?
Speaker 3 (18:46):
Oh?
Speaker 9 (18:47):
Thank you for taking my call? Gentlemen, Happy Thursday. Man
to Luther the Commander's Odd Couple OG. No doubt, I
got it, no doubt, man, I've mean since day one.
Rob a man, I gotta disagree with y'all those real
world because a lot of the points of man here
just some minutes ago. DJ Moore is a solid receiver
in the NFL. He immediately becomes the past receiver in Buffalo.
Speaker 5 (19:10):
Yeah, but what does that say about? What does that
say about the receivers in Buffalo? As he's coming off
of career lows. That's all I'm saying. And at that price, No,
without a doubt.
Speaker 9 (19:19):
But like he said, they had so many mouths to
feat in Chicago. They can't give him the ball every
time when they needed a big play. He showed up
and tell me this show like the draft is a
hit or miss boom er Bus. You never know what
you're gonna get from a rookie.
Speaker 13 (19:33):
I mean, tell me last.
Speaker 9 (19:34):
Year the rookie that grew up a receiver maybe burning,
but he was in and out the lineup. Like my
man said. All I'm saying, though, is they got a
proven debt in the NFL that's on the right side
of thirty, ready to produce, ready to win. Now. I
think it's a good move for Buffalo, but they're gonna
have to add more. They're gonna have to do more
for Josh Allen. All right, I have a great day, man,
(19:58):
for lot the commanders.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
Thank you, James, appreciate you.
Speaker 5 (20:01):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine. On Fox, Brody in Phoenix,
you're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (20:08):
What's up, Brody?
Speaker 7 (20:09):
How are you hey?
Speaker 13 (20:10):
How's it going?
Speaker 5 (20:11):
Guys doing great?
Speaker 13 (20:13):
I just want to say, normally I agree with a
lot of your takes. As a Buffalo Bills fan myself,
I have to disagree on this one.
Speaker 7 (20:19):
All right.
Speaker 8 (20:20):
You look back in the.
Speaker 13 (20:21):
Past couple of years, Josh Allen has always missed the
number one. He's never had one. In the books, the
NFL is a game where you give and take and
we haven't had a lot of luck in the draft,
especially in those first two rounds lately, so I think
this is a good take finally getting a sure thing.
And look, Josh Allen makes mistakes, but the reason he's
always forced to play that hero ball and having a
sure thing on the field really helps him, especially the
(20:43):
last year when we were missing in keda for a while.
I think it's gonna be important to have a guy
that you can be relied on in those big situations,
which we find ourselves in quite a bit.
Speaker 5 (20:51):
All right, appreciate that, and we appreciate you, Jody, Thanks
for Brody, thanks for calling in on the odd couple.
All right. Coming up next, Henry McKenna from Fox Sports.
Of course, he's an NFL Foxsports dot Com. He's an
NFL reporter. We'll get into the movement all these other
players may be moving on in the trade and all
kinds of stuff like that. But Firs, let's get you
(21:11):
caught up with mister Martin Weiss.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live.
Speaker 5 (21:26):
It is the Odd Couple, Rob Parker Keith McPherson filling
in for kelvin Washington, eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.
As we wait for our guests, we'll also continue making
taking some of these phone calls about the Bears and
Bill's trade. Who won the trade? Where are you on that?
So let's do that, Keith, let's go to Trent in Wichita.
(21:46):
You're on the Odd Couple Fox Sports Radio. What's up?
Speaker 7 (21:49):
Trent?
Speaker 11 (21:49):
My man?
Speaker 3 (21:50):
All right, here's the deal.
Speaker 9 (21:52):
Man.
Speaker 11 (21:52):
As a Bears fan, I like it. I think it
gives us. It gives us a chance to free up
some money. And with our guard, with our center leaving,
we gotta we got to replace some things and we
got to work on that defense. So and we have
plenty plenty to put your hand ready to catch some balls.
You know, Burden the last first seven games last year
(22:15):
a one hundred and fifty yards. Last nine games he
had five hundred, you know, I mean he came on strong.
And you know DJ Moore, he's a good solid receiver.
But the guy, you know, Dunes. They missed four or
five games last year and Moore, you would think More's
numbers would be better. You know what I mean, since
since he.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
Didn't, that's a good point and they weren't.
Speaker 11 (22:36):
And so there was some games where he was he
didn't even get have a catch, you know, I mean
he goes silent sometimes and uh so I think I
mean losing him. We want to lose him now. But
we cleared the we clear the cap space and we
got guys. Burden's ready to take off man burdens of
stud and with Lovelt and Comment, we're gonna keep Comment
and we're gonna get the two tight ends and we'll
(22:57):
be ready.
Speaker 5 (22:58):
And Trent and Keith, I want to ask you this.
I want to put it out there. We've seen this
before in the NFL. Somebody there's a bad play. You
lose a playoff game, Keith, and you don't come back
to play. It was a miscommunication when they lost that
game with DJ Moore didn't continue on that route. Am
(23:18):
I right? Like, like we've seen that happen and this
could be part of it. I remember the on side
kick where the Packers didn't go to the Super Bowl
against Seattle. You remember that the tight end knock the
ball from Jordy Nelson's hand and he didn't come back
to the Packers. We've seen this before. I wonder if
the Dj Moore play Uh to Lose that playoff game
(23:41):
had something to do with this as well.
Speaker 4 (23:43):
It very well could have.
Speaker 5 (23:45):
I'm blanking on the play. It was the end the game.
You remember that they come back and they go to overtime.
It throws a touchdown and they always say one play,
but it was an interception and to end it for
the Bears.
Speaker 4 (23:59):
So they could have watched the film and very much
put that one on Dj Moore.
Speaker 5 (24:03):
I'm just throwing it out there.
Speaker 4 (24:04):
I think Caleb Williams, that's not a reason to necessarily
move on from him, trade him.
Speaker 5 (24:08):
I'm telling you.
Speaker 4 (24:09):
It was the money, and sometimes guys need a change
of scenery, right. I think he's got a little bit
of an attitude, like we've got some things that we've
seen in the past and we don't necessarily know. But
maybe he wasn't all in. Maybe he wasn't like if
they had a back and forth after that in the
film and he felt some kind of way, they're probably like, bro,
we're not running you this money. Let's see what we
can get for him, right, We've got younger guys, we
(24:30):
can draft another receiver, and not for nothing. Like they've
got the two headed monster in the backfield too, with
swift and a young guy, and like they've got two
tight ends, like they have options. And again I go
back to Ben Johnson. Ben Johnson can make it work
with anybody. And Caleb Williams has started to come into
his own. If DJ Moore is like the elder statesman
of that offense and feels like he should be the
number one and hasn't actually been the number one, go
(24:53):
be the number one with Joe Brady, Go be the
number one with Josh Allen in Buffalo. Good luck trying
to get those guys back.
Speaker 5 (24:59):
To the right. And I hear you, and I just
throw that out there because I've seen it happen before.
And when it's a play like that where it looked
like he stopped running the route and wound up being
an interception, and you're coming off career lows on receptions,
you know, in yards, I think when you factor that
in and you're right, the amount of money he's making,
(25:19):
they can go. We can get the production that we
got from him from from somebody making far less. Let's
squeeze in another call, Jordan in Atlanta. You're on the
eye couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Jordan, How
are you?
Speaker 8 (25:33):
What's going on?
Speaker 2 (25:35):
Doing great?
Speaker 5 (25:36):
How are you?
Speaker 7 (25:36):
Go?
Speaker 5 (25:36):
Ahead, Buddy, I will.
Speaker 7 (25:38):
Say I think the I think the Bears, I mean
both teams won. I think you know, now my man
is going to go to Buffalo, you know, reth the
fresh air. He'll feel more needed and necessary out in Buffalo.
And I think the capitol that the Bears get back,
they can apply to the defense and try to build
a traditional Bears, you know, solidified defense going forward. Now
(26:00):
they have you know, ar believe they probably they probably
have their best quarterback ever in their in their team's
history right now, you know, on the rise. Now they
can build a defense. But I want to say something
really quick about my man. He was talking about Josh
Allen and saying how Josh Allen will turnover machine. Then
you gotta admit, Josh Allen has improved the last couple
of years, the more pieces he's gotten, and the way
(26:21):
you were dogging them out for turnovers. Man, I thought
you were talking about Kaitlyn Clark.
Speaker 9 (26:24):
Man.
Speaker 7 (26:24):
I'm like, come on, man, cull him a break.
Speaker 4 (26:28):
I don't watch too much Kaitlyn Clark. But I'm telling
y'all go look up the number since twenty eighteen. He
turns the ball over and it is the type of
thing that damned him in that playoff loss. But nobody
wanted to call that out. Nobody wanted to call out
his two interceptions, his two fumbles because he's the golden boy, right,
Even so somebody.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
That vp.
Speaker 7 (26:49):
What you're saying, they don't call him out. Who is
day because everybody in mainstream sports, they always always not everybody.
Speaker 4 (26:55):
And if we go back to like Dan Orlovsky Chase Daniel,
those guys were saying, ah, man like they were feeling
bad for him because he cried at the podium he
turned the ball over.
Speaker 5 (27:04):
When CJ. Stroud was turning the ball over. They killed
him in the playoffs.
Speaker 7 (27:08):
I would hate to hear you Kevin Clark and Matlass,
but you know I appreciate you.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
Bro.
Speaker 4 (27:12):
Yeah, I've seen like two Caitlin Clark games. I'm not
gonna hold you. I'm not really watching Iowa or the
Indiana fever is I got I got too much else
on my plate to watch.
Speaker 5 (27:21):
I don't really watch Kaitlyn Clark.
Speaker 4 (27:23):
And she was hurt and she didn't even come in
and playing in Barkley's when she was supposed to play Liberty.
Speaker 5 (27:27):
I got no analysis on her.
Speaker 4 (27:29):
I think she's better than Peyton Pritchard, right, I think,
you know, Reggie kind of missed with that one. But
I don't watch Kitlyn Clark, who I don't. I don't
watch w NBA too much.
Speaker 5 (27:37):
Yeah, I never missed the w NBA. I never watched it,
so I never miss it. I'm just saying it is
add couple Rob Parker, Keith McPherson in for Kelvin Washington
and the other two things I just wanted to get
in quickly too. Is uh Tua Tua and Kyler Murray
(27:59):
just your What do you think those guys could wind up?
It's interesting, you know, I told you I thought Kyler
Murray failed in the NFL so far. I mean, this
guy was one of the most elite athletes we've ever seen,
first round in the NFL, first round in MLB, and
he's on his way as the Cardinals are cool with
parting ways and moving on without him.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
What about Tua? Where are you on Tua and his ability?
Speaker 5 (28:25):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (28:26):
I think I read a report today that they want
somebody to take on his contract and give up a
first round pick for Tua.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
For well, the Jets and you're in New York.
Speaker 4 (28:36):
Nah, no way, no way, no way that they faced him.
Speaker 6 (28:40):
He was an indivision no seventy piece at one point.
Are we forgetting that the Broncos? Or who is that against?
It was the Broncos. Absolutely, it was the Broncos. Tua
needs everything perfect around him. He needs a good offensive line,
he needs a good run game. He needs receivers, dynamic receivers.
He needs to write play calls.
Speaker 4 (29:00):
I don't think he's done either, but he has an
injury history, concussion history. I think anybody that's willing to
give up a first round pick and take on his
contract is crazy.
Speaker 5 (29:09):
They paid him well, gonna work with McDaniel. You ask
for the moon. I don't think anybody's given that up.
I agree with you, those are some high demands, But
there could be some dumb teams, right like, hey, you
throw it out there and see what they think and
then you know what you really want to take for him.
Maybe you can squeeze out another a little bit more
extra draft pick, you know what I mean, or something
(29:32):
of that ilk. But a first round pick and the
entire contract. Absolutely not. Otherwise he was that great, you
would still keep him, wouldn't you.
Speaker 4 (29:40):
Through the Dolphins, and I don't think there's any teams
that are ready to win now that are that desperate.
There's no match for me, there's no Definitely not the Jets.
Speaker 5 (29:48):
Do you expect the Jets to take any of the
available quarterbacks out there rather than saying they're gonna go
with a young quarterback and build and they don't care
if they lose. I think they may t for a
backup type.
Speaker 4 (30:01):
I was talking about Tyson Bagent as we speak on
the Bears and DJ Moore.
Speaker 5 (30:05):
Tyson Bagent.
Speaker 4 (30:06):
I like his story and I think quietly he's one
of the better backups in the league. They also will
probably sign a free agent. I think they trade for
a veteran and sign a free agent because their quarterback
room right now is nothing.
Speaker 5 (30:19):
It's Brady Cook.
Speaker 4 (30:20):
Tyrod wants to come back, but Tyrod is about to
be thirty six, thirty seven, and then Justin Fields is
gonna you know, they're gonna cut him. They need to
rebuild their quarterback room. Maybe they do draft a rookie,
but you can't rely on them. In this league, you're
always gonna need two quarterbacks for the most part. I
think that they go get a Tanner McKee or a
Davis Mills or a Tyson Bagent. But then also they
(30:42):
explore Kyler Murray or Kirk Cousins.
Speaker 5 (30:45):
Or I just wonder that you know, at some point,
if you're Aaron Glenn, do you need to start winning
some games. I know it's okay. They let you off
a whoint. They let you off the hook on the
first year. You had a horrible first year, and most
guys would have been fired after that year. Remember he's
a defensive guy and they had no interceptions. I mean,
(31:07):
there was a lot to dislike. The way he handle
the media. You remember he wouldn't even announce it the
starting quarterback. It was really bad. I would have fired
Aaron Glenn, but the Jets didn't do it. I think
he needs to win some games this year, all right.
It is the odd couple on the TV theme song Thursday,
Rob Parker and Keith McPherson in for Kelvin Washington coming.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
Up next, got a lot play today.
Speaker 5 (31:32):
Shekel City and did you see what the Pelicans did
to my man? Stephen A?
Speaker 2 (31:38):
I want to get Keith's take on that and much more.
Speaker 5 (31:41):
It is the odd couple, and you know what you
need to do, stick and stay because Steven A'll say
something like this in the USAA.
Speaker 14 (31:49):
Kelvin, you don't understand, you don't understand.
Speaker 5 (31:53):
Just the facts, just the facts.
Speaker 14 (31:54):
Okay, look, okay, we're gonna pooh pooh that attitude. We're
gonna poo poo that. That's not what we're going to
do here on this show. I'm doing a Rob Parker
imitation in case my audience doesn't know.
Speaker 3 (32:05):

Couple of Fox Sports Radio, Rob Parker, Keith McPherson filling
in for Kelvin Washington, and Man. Still a lot to
get to on the program. Starting with the play of
the day, Let's.
Speaker 4 (32:38):
Do it, Bridgets driving Paskinzalees up with the right hand.
Speaker 2 (32:43):
Make shot is good.
Speaker 5 (32:45):
Miles Bridges now with six.
Speaker 4 (32:46):
Points two back of Larry Johnson, first by the top
three and Hornet's history, career, field.

protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation tire
rack dot Com. The way tire buying should be. All right,
let's do some Shekel City Keith. There we go.
Speaker 3 (33:24):
Welcome to Shekel City, the whole base for Rob Parker's
day Dicks against the spread.
Speaker 5 (33:35):
I did, Yes, I did. Last night. I was one
and two on my picks. I'm now sixty one and
forty though, Alex No. One and two ain't no good.
This bits is a mega money. Then you go, all right,
bad night last night. Here we go. I'm gonna make
it up for everybody tonight. My best bet. I'm taking
(33:56):
the Spurs minus two and a half in San Antonio,
taking on the distance. I got Minnesota at home minus
four and a half taking on the Raptors, and I'm
gonna go with the Phoenix Sons minus twelve and a half.
They host the Chicago Bulls again, Spurs minus two and
a half, Minnesota minus four and a half, and the
(34:21):
Phoenix Sons minus twelve and a half. There you go,
And remember, Keith, I'm not telling you who to bet on.
I'm telling you who I bet on. All right, rob
g there was there was a little something going on
between the New Orleans Pelicans and mister stephen A. Smith.
Speaker 2 (34:39):
Uh so much soda, he responded on his show.
Speaker 12 (34:42):
First, thank, we don't call hm stephen around here, right, Well,
we call him Steve because we've known we go way back,
like four flats on the CADILLACIY.
Speaker 5 (34:49):
No doubt. Yeah Steve Smith.
Speaker 7 (34:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (34:50):
Wait, in case you didn't know what was going on, Steven,
excuse me take you back. Ziowa was at the interview
with the ESPN and they talked about, you know, what
went wrong with him in New Orleans and him being
out of the lineup so frequently during his NBA career,
and stephen A watched that interview I think with Milke
Andrews and came to the conclusion, waste Zion has got
(35:11):
a food addiction. He just can't put the fourth down.
That's the biggest problem, and that has sparked a social
media firestorm between the Pelicans social media team and Steven
and himself, so much so that he's gone on television
saying like, you don't want to make an enemy out
of the Pelicans on first take, it's been a whole
big deal. Rob, You've been in a similar situation with
(35:33):
the New England Patriots. Do you have a problem with
what's going down with New Orleans and Stephen A.
Speaker 5 (35:38):
I don't because I had the same thing, Keith. I
said that the Kansas City Chiefs would beat the New
England Patriots in that AFC. Was that AFC Championship game
early on in Mahomes' career. The Patriots wind up winning,
and I'd said all the stuff about them, that it
was time their reign of terror would be over and
on there what was it, Rob Gidia Twitter? They had
(36:01):
four million followers, Keith, and they played my clips in
all the game, all the touchdowns and all the great
plays that the Patriots played. So I was like, I'm
okay with that. If you're so bothered you know that
what I'm saying that you want to put me on
your platform and kind of rub it in my face
a little bit. I'm okay with it. We do this
(36:24):
for a living. We're critiquing people. We're criticizing people. I'm okay,
what about you When it comes for pushback from teams.
Speaker 4 (36:34):
When it comes to pushback from teams or fans or
other commentators, it's all good. That's how the machine works, Right.
You're supposed to evoke emotion, You're supposed to get a reaction.
You're supposed to say stuff that people care about. Right,
and with this social media era, right, I used to
be a social media manager here in the city. I
worked at MTV, I worked at Foubo TV. I even
worked at rock Nation, jay Z's company with the NFL players,
(36:57):
everybody's thinking about how to go viral. Everybody's thinking about
how to get a laugh. Everybody's thinking about how to
get retweets and shares. So this stuff is all good
as long as it doesn't get too personal. I know
what I'll say about steven A is like steven A
got the rise out of everybody because now there are
people talking about, Hey, he should have been more had
more sympathy about the addiction, the food addiction. Hey, steven
(37:18):
A's got a platform he's got to be more responsible
with his platform. It's like, whoa, whoa, this is going
in ten different ways.
Speaker 5 (37:24):
Now, Yeah, I think it could get too far out
there if it's fun and poking back and forth. But
I'm with you on this. If you're out there and
you have a platform and you're doing stuff, even what
I did with the Patriots, right, and I say that
and there's no reaction from them, do I really matter?
Maybe they don't even care what I say. For them
(37:45):
to take the time to take what I said and
edit that in and put it on their social media
for four million people to see it tells you that
I've gotten what I wanted, which was to get on
their nerves to make the needle move a little bit.
And I think that's what we're here for. The worst
thing you can be in this business is where no
(38:07):
one has an opinion about what you said. Keith. You
want to be all the way to the right or
all the way to the left.
Speaker 2 (38:14):
You want people to love you.
Speaker 5 (38:16):
Keith is the best thing since sliced bread, or Keith
is horrible.
Speaker 2 (38:20):
I can't stand that, dude, Like that's where you want
to be. You don't want to be in the middle.
Speaker 5 (38:26):
So I thought it was funny, and I know Steve
didn't like it because they showed some of his basketball
play I'm slipping down and him boxing, and always baseball play,
you know. I mean, the Patriots could have showed my
baseball plays and it wouldn't have been a pretty picture.
But it's all good. Our number two is coming up
(38:46):
the odd couple weeks, so that's right, stick and stack America.
