Speaker 5 (04:03):
Yeah, and of course Elijah or social media guru. So
we got the full effect here on the couple on
this worship Wednesday. And I do want to say when
cole weather sets in every day, aches and pains can linger.
But the Leave's got your back, that's right, with up
to twelve hours of body pain relief per dose. A
(04:25):
leave keep you going with long lasting body pain relief
this winter. That's right, Try and leave use as director
for minor aches and paints. All right, Hey, Keith, let's
get started, Rob G. Let's start with the Kansas City Chiefs.
We got news today, spell it out.
Speaker 9 (04:46):
That's right, two teams headed in opposite directions. It seems
like the Kansas City Chiefs have done it again. They've
gotten rid of yet another All Pro player, this time
cornerback Trent McDuffie, sending him to Los Angeles to the
RAM for a first round pick this year, a fifth
and a sixth this year and a third round pick
next year, so the Rafts can go all in around
(05:07):
Rob's favorite quarterback stat Packer, I mean Matthew Stafford Ram
looking at making the Super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (05:12):
Run Chiefs to be determined. Keith, I don't know about you,
but this is official. I thought it was official last
year when the Chiefs didn't make the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
But this is even more official.
Speaker 5 (05:24):
The Chiefs dynasty wrong, whatever you want to call it,
is dead, dead as a door knob. Yet another All
Pro player out the door. Chris Jones is going to
be right behind that. And here's the thing. I get it.
For years, they thought, as long as you have Patrick Mahomes,
(05:46):
you got a chance, cause you.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Know what, he's that good. He's that guy.
Speaker 5 (05:52):
It don't matter who else you got, bringing any receivers,
bringing any other defensive players, we don't care.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
We'll still get to the super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (06:00):
It still cost terror in the AFC and have a
chance to win a championship. Those days are over. Last
year was a perfect example. People thought they were gonna
run it back because they went to the Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
They didn't even make the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (06:16):
And let's be honest, Patrick Mahomes is not the same
guy he hasn't been for two and a half years.
I don't care if they went to the super Bowl.
Look at it. He can't carry this roster.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
The Chiefs.
Speaker 5 (06:31):
I know they're moving to Kansas, but they've already moved on.
This chief party is over, Keith. I don't see.
Speaker 6 (06:41):
How, where, what, Andy Weed, whatever they're doing, that they're
gonna be able to keep this going.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
This dynasty is history.
Speaker 6 (06:50):
Oh great, it's raps and I'm here to see it.
I'm here for it. You love to see it. Actually,
I've had enough. Did you mention Travis Kelcey and Taylor
Swift and that whole thing being done? We don't ever
have to see that again on an NFL screen? And
how long does Andy Reid have with this team?
Speaker 7 (07:04):
Right?
Speaker 6 (07:04):
I know they're opening that stadium up in twenty thirty one.
That's a long time from now. It seems like they're
looking down the road. It seems like they're preparing for
the back end of mahomes career. Everybody wanted to talk
about Mahomes rings and how he was gonna chase down Brady. Well,
I guess they're planning for him to take a little
hiatus in the middle from going to super Bowls and
winning super Bowls, and maybe they try to backload his
(07:24):
career and build this team with these picks and get
ready for them because because they're cooked. Like this team
is done. You called it last year. I remember you
texted me the link early when you were saying that
they weren't making the playoffs, and I'm like, oh, if
you look at Vegas, everybody's saying they're going to go
on a run. And then you actually had me on
your show Thanksgiving when it was Chiefs versus Cowboys, and
(07:45):
I took the Chiefs. I bet on the Chiefs that night,
and when they lost to Dallas that night, I'm like,
they're finished. So yeah, it's the end. Farewell, happy trails.
I mean, that's a rap, and I don't know what
they're gonna do in these next couple of years, but
I'm not worried about it. Let somebody else get after it.
Speaker 5 (07:58):
And here's the thing I know they're gonna say, well,
Tom Brady went nine seasons, you know, in between super bowls.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
If you remember, right, the Patriots.
Speaker 5 (08:06):
People forget that, that's when the Giants put the beat
down on those two years and one Ali won those
two Super Bowls Patriots didn't win for like nine years.
This ain't the same party you just mentioned Andy Weid,
who's a poor chop away from retiring. This is not
the same where the Chiefs are gonna cheat like the
Patriots did in the second half of Tom Brady's career
(08:29):
that helped them win more championships because they knew the
other team's signals.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
I'm not buying it.
Speaker 5 (08:35):
I think this is If you're a Chiefs fan, you
gotta look at this and say, why why are they
not going to push all the chips in the middle
of the table and say to yourself, you really want
to waste Patrick Mahomes the next five or six years
like it's now or never. And if Travis Kelce's coming back,
(08:57):
you think he's coming back now. I'm not positive he
might look at this and go, what are we doing here?
But I'm not surprised because I remember when Patrick Mahomes
signed that back team friendly contract.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
You remember that, Oh, do what Tom Brady did.
Speaker 5 (09:13):
This will help you win long term, And all they're
doing is shedding Pro Bowl players who make who make money,
who got to be paid, and they can't kick the
can down the road. Anymore, and Patrick Mahomes ain't the
same guy. It's over in Kansas City.
Speaker 6 (09:31):
Yeah, and it's also their division too, right, the Denver
Broncos emerged this year and they're not going anywhere for
a little while with their quarterback defense. Obviously the head coach.
You also figure the Chargers, you know, they were a
playoff team this year, quarterback head coach, get that defense
a little bit better. Who knows what the Raiders turn
into now with Clint Kubiak, maybe Fernando Mendoza. We already
(09:52):
mentioned Tom Brady wants. Tom Brady wants that organization to
start winning. So maybe the Chiefs are trying to get low.
Maybe the Hunt family's like, hey, we had our on
the parades, super Bowls, we made our money. Let's chill
for a little bit, open up our new place, and
then we'll try to attack this thing for the you know,
the twilight of Patrick Mahomes's career.
Speaker 5 (10:10):
And here's the other thing too. Look at the quarterbacks
in the AFC. There's nothing but young quarterbacks.
Speaker 7 (10:17):
Right.
Speaker 5 (10:18):
Lamar is still trying to win his go to his
Super Bowl, win a super Bowl. Right, You got the
same thing, Josh Allen and Buffalo another guy there.
Speaker 6 (10:29):
We just saw the Patriots with a young quarterback, right
like like Drake May, Drake May, Lawrence, Trevor Lawrence.
Speaker 5 (10:37):
We just talked about who we talk about with the Chargers,
uh and and all these young quarterbacks in the AFC.
So it's not going to be a smooth ride. It's
not gonna be what we saw when he started out
of the gate. He was unbelievable. My old partner Chris
Bussard said he was Jordan esque and he was chasing.
Speaker 3 (10:59):
Everybody thought he gonna chase down Brady.
Speaker 5 (11:01):
He didn't even pass Joe Montana, Joe Montana's four ton
the Super Bowl. How did Patrick Mahomes chase down Joe Montana?
Speaker 3 (11:09):
He didn't.
Speaker 5 (11:11):
And now they're ready to say we're going to punt,
We're going to get rid of players that you need
to win and hope that Patrick Mahomes can do his magic.
He just hasn't done his magic enough over the last
few years for me to feel good about the Chiefs.
Speaker 6 (11:30):
Hey, it's the NFL. What does that stand for? Not
for long. As soon as you're ready to say somebody's
a dynasty, they're gonna run the table. This is the
next Tom Brady injury happens, free agency happens, like I
think they just they let go of Juwan Taylor. Isaiah
Pacheco is gonna hit free ating, like this team is
gonna look completely different. And they had their issues the
(11:50):
last two years, even the year that they got to
the Super Bowl. I mean, they had so many last
minute comeback victories two years ago. They were almost fraudulent.
I don't want to call him Frost, so.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
They weren't known. No, no, they were fraudulent.
Speaker 5 (12:01):
And all of those lucky wins and people were hitting
me upright with the field goals and people.
Speaker 6 (12:07):
Were falling with flooky.
Speaker 5 (12:08):
It was very fluky. And you looked at it and said,
are they really that good? Are they lucky? Because I
thought they were more lucky than good. And they haven't
been that team that was dominant when he first went.
When Patrick Mahomes took over, You remember throwing the ball
Tyreek Hill downfield.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
They were scoring.
Speaker 6 (12:25):
They got a pro Tyrek day. They got to get
Tyreek back for this run. Oh so this is going
to be old timer's day. Now you want to go
back and bring the van back together.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
I don't see it.
Speaker 6 (12:34):
Yeah, Patrick, Mahomes and Tyreek Hi'll be rehabbing together in
Missouri somewhere, and then they're getting rid of Arrowhead. How
do you get rid of one of the best home
field advantages, one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL
because you want to have sweets and you want to
be able to, you know, have Travis Kelce and Taylor
Swift come back in five years and show them how
fancy you guys are. Whatever, y'all. I'm sorry, I'm a hater.
(12:56):
They won so much. I'm praying on their downfall. I'm
not sad to see them in the situation out there
in right now, all right, we want.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
To hear from you.
Speaker 5 (13:04):

Lot to get to in this first hour to program,
I'm saying it, the Chiefs Dynasty is all done shedding
more players. Patrick Mahomes cannot nt carry a depleted roster.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
Where are you eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox?
Speaker 5 (15:35):
And let's start here with six foot eight Aquarius in Atlanta.
Speaker 3 (15:43):
You're on the Odd Couple of Fox Sports Radio. What
you got? How are you?
Speaker 2 (15:47):
It was on and Wrap?
Speaker 8 (15:48):
How you doing, brother?
Speaker 7 (15:48):
Doing fine?
Speaker 3 (15:49):
Doing well? What's up my man?
Speaker 8 (15:52):
Yes, sir, My think is I'm just trying to think.
You know, when Tom Brady won his first three championships,
saying he hit the injury the following year where he
set out the full season and the Pats you know,
had to make personnel changes, you know, to kind of
get that fantasy backed up and rolling. I'm just kind
of wondering, do you guys think that the teams have
the cache, the financial stability and the know how to
(16:16):
go out and revamp a team around Patrick Mahomes like
they did with the Patriots? And can Andy Reid stay
the course as long as Belichick did to kind of
fulfill that that legacy.
Speaker 3 (16:30):
Keith, where are.
Speaker 5 (16:30):
You on that?
Speaker 3 (16:31):
I just don't.
Speaker 5 (16:34):
I don't think so. And Patrick's coming off obviously a
big injury. You know, when you start looking at everything.
Andy Reid's older, the bend's not the same. Travis Kelce
he plays one more year or not?
Speaker 3 (16:45):
Where are you on this? Can they do?
Speaker 6 (16:47):
They're about the fold? I just I don't see it.
I maybe through the draft, and I think that they
have drafted well through the years. They drafted Trent McDuffie
and he was all pro. I think they can build
through the draft. And I'm very interested in seeing what
they do this year in the draft. And that's gonna
signal a lot as far as like where they're headed.
Like does Jeremiah Love fall to them at nine? Now
(17:08):
they've got two picks in the first round, nine and
twenty nine. Like I think they're gonna try and do
it through the draft, draft and develop their own and
we'll see when Mahomes comes back. Like you mentioned a
great point about Tom Brady taking the year off, I
think that was the year Matt Castle got to rock.
Speaker 7 (17:23):
Right.
Speaker 6 (17:23):
Who's the option behind Mahomes? Is it Gardner? Minshew?
Speaker 3 (17:26):
Who?
Speaker 6 (17:27):
Chris Alutakan? I don't, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
I would.
Speaker 6 (17:30):
I wouldn't rush Mahomes back, but he's a guy. You
can't make him sit down and sit still. When he's
ready to go, He's.
Speaker 5 (17:36):
Gonna come back, right. There's no way Patrick Mahomes is
taking a year off. I don't believe it under any circumstance.
As soon as soon as he had the surgery, talking
about he's gonna make it back in time for the season,
right at some point.
Speaker 3 (17:51):
I mean, I get it.
Speaker 5 (17:52):
I would rather that he's fully healthy, but I don't
think he's that guy. Carson in Texas, you're on the
odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Carson?
Speaker 3 (18:00):
How are you?
Speaker 11 (18:01):
I'm all right, Rob, Thanks for having me on. I
love the show, but I can't take the Patrick Mahomes slander.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
All right, push back.
Speaker 5 (18:11):
I'm willing for you to push back. We appreciate your
support on the show. Well, but Patrick ate the same quarterback?
Can you just admit that did you watch?
Speaker 3 (18:20):
You watched?
Speaker 11 (18:20):
Of course I watched. Of course I watched, And last
I checked, he was in the super Bowl a little
bit over a year ago. So I mean he last
year they had a depleted roster. But he's been to
the super Bowl four times, three time champ, three times
super Bowl and VP two time NFL and VP.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
Yeah, but but but aren't they more depleted?
Speaker 11 (18:41):
They think their team is, But Patrick Mahomes is not.
Speaker 5 (18:45):
Do you think he's the same quarterback when he burst
onto the scene in the NFL absolutely and coming.
Speaker 3 (18:51):
Off a knee injury, he's going to be better.
Speaker 11 (18:55):
I think he's gonna be the same guy. He's gonna
he's gonna heal, he's gonna come.
Speaker 6 (18:59):
Back, always running for his life. Now he's coming off
a knee injury. He's gonna have me in the pocket.
They got to get that line together, They got to
get his weapons together, they got to get hid Rice together.
It is if you're worthy together, Like he's gonna have
to throw the ball.
Speaker 11 (19:11):
But nobody in the NFL right now has a track
record of doing more with less than Patrick Mahomes, and
when he comes back this year, he's going to continue
to do that for probably five seven more years, and
he's gonna get more Supermol rings and continue to dominate.
Speaker 5 (19:25):
They I think your kidd I understand you're you're a Mahomes.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
Guy and all that.
Speaker 5 (19:29):
A lot of fans out, but which is fine. But
the idea, thanks for the call. We appreciate that, Carson. Uh,
the idea that Mahomes ain't done on Kansas City ain't done.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
And they gonna just keep rolling. I just don't see it.
Speaker 5 (19:42):
The AFC's stockpile full of quarterbacks, guys who are eventually
going to break through.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
We saw New England come out of nowhere.
Speaker 5 (19:49):
You can't tell me that Lamar or Josh Allen ain't
at some point gonna win. Let's go to Jackson, Kansas City.
Speaker 6 (19:57):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (19:57):
Here we go with the Homer take, but we'll take
it any where. You're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio. What's up Jackson?
Speaker 7 (20:03):
What's up?
Speaker 8 (20:04):
Rob?
Speaker 7 (20:04):
Appreciate you checking.
Speaker 3 (20:05):
My call, no doubt.
Speaker 7 (20:07):
What's going on?
Speaker 8 (20:08):
Key?
Speaker 6 (20:09):
It's good?
Speaker 7 (20:10):
Well, of course I called to tell you that you
have no idea, what you're talking about women.
Speaker 5 (20:15):
Before you go forward, Before you go forward, I just
want you to answer one question.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
Did I tell you last year that they wouldn't make
the playoffs? This this Pat?
Speaker 5 (20:23):
Did I not that?
Speaker 7 (20:26):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (20:27):
Right, okay, okay, okay, okay, told.
Speaker 7 (20:29):
Me the whole year before. Okay, they went to the
Super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (20:32):
I never told you they weren't going to make the
playoffs before. But go ahead, I want to hear your points.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
Go ahead, all right.
Speaker 7 (20:37):
So my point is, first of all, you just missed
that they don't pay anybody is absolutely not true. They
paid Pat when it was time to pay him. They
paid Trey Smith, they paid Crete Humphrey, they paid Chris Jones.
I mean they've always They paid Carl Loftis, they paid
all of these guys. Bro And so secondly, when you're
(20:59):
talking about what the trade that they just made with McDuffie,
if we remember the trade that brought McDuffie here as
a first round pick was when they traded Tyreek Hill
and they turned around and went to two went to
three Super Bowls in a row, and one two of them.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
Yeah, but you're living in the past.
Speaker 5 (21:17):
Patrick's not the same guy, and and the team is
not the same. I hear you, and I understand you
want to wallow in those Super Bowls and you want
to act like it just happened the other day.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
It ain't the same team. Do you do?
Speaker 5 (21:31):
You remember the Super Bowl, Keith? They got Molly Watt
by the Eagles.
Speaker 6 (21:36):
It was embarrassing, they were it was scrambling, hitting his
head on the turf, and then he wasn't right the
rest of the game when under the rest in the
Super Bowl is reps. And now he's got a bum knee.
He's getting up there in age. It's not gonna be
as sweet as it was for that start of his career.
I'm telling y'all, you know, father time is undefeated. I
(21:56):
just think it's gonna be a little rough.
Speaker 5 (21:58):
No doubt about it. All right, let's get you caught
up here.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm Eastern,
four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 5 (22:13):
All right, Monzie, thank you very much. It is The
Odd Couple here Fox Sports Radio. On a worship Wednesday,
Rob Parker, Keith McPherson in for kelvin Washington.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
He's off for a couple of days.
Speaker 5 (22:25):
We are glad to have Keith Ford next couple of
days with us here on Fox Sports Radio. And Rob
g we just heard a little bit of we just
heard some story about Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers and
the whole nine yards.
Speaker 3 (22:40):
He was noncommittal.
Speaker 9 (22:41):
That's right, Rob, Your third favorite Aaron in the world,
behind Aaron Judge and Aaron Mallard.
Speaker 3 (22:46):
Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 5 (22:48):
Right, he's moved down to third place now, right, he's
number three.
Speaker 9 (22:52):
When you got first Aaron Judge, Aaron Judges winning in
your pocket, and then Aaron Aaron Mallin number two.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
All right, that's right.
Speaker 9 (22:59):
So Aaron Rodgers was on Pat McAfee again for the
Rogers Wednesdays, and they asked him very specifically, like, Hey,
are you going to be back in Pittsburgh next season?
What's going on? What's the timeline? Aaron Rodgers, you said,
very non committal.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
Take a listen.
Speaker 12 (23:13):
I talked to Mike, I've talked to Omar. There's been
no deadline that's been you know, that's been put in
front of me. There's no contract, you know, offer or anything.
So there's nothing that I'm you know, having to debate
between I'm, you know, free agent and you know again,
I'm I'm enjoying my time with my wife and enjoying
(23:36):
this part of the off season, and and you know,
I think there's conversations to be added down the line,
but right now I'm not not. There hasn't been any
progressive conversations.
Speaker 6 (23:49):
All right, yeah, take your time, we got we got
all twenty twenty six. Listen, I got it. I gotta
go in on this. Some of my people in the chat, No,
Aaron Rodgers is the song that does in and it
just goes on and on. My friends, some people started
singing it not knowing what it was, and they will
(24:11):
keep on singing it forever, just because why do we
do this? Why do we entertain this guy? Pat McAfee
pays him to be on this show anytime he pops
up from wherever he is with his wired in headphones,
with his ridiculous takes, his conspiracy theories and just taking
his sweet old time.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
We lean into it.
Speaker 6 (24:31):
We played in so now Mike McCarthy, Mike McCarthy's got
to be pulling his hair out, like yo, here we
go again, deja vu with this guy. I gotta deal
with this guy. The Packers kicked him to the curb
and said, no, Moss, We're good. We got Jordan Love.
The Jets played that game and you saw how Karma
came in four plays in took him up out of there.
And then they played it a second year and then
last year. Aaron Glenn and to the Steelers he is old.
(24:55):
I just said father time is undefeated. Aaron like, bro,
Aaron Rodgers, hang it up, He's cooked. I can't do
this anymore. How long has he been in the league.
We just watched his Enigma Netflix show, Like, why does
he get this much attention for a guy that can't move?
The game has passed him by. He's made all of
his money. He's like the highest paid player ever next
(25:15):
to Matthew Stafford. I can't do another year of this,
Just retire.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
Hang it up.
Speaker 6 (25:21):
You got to the playoffs last year. What else do
you need?
Speaker 5 (25:25):
I'm gonna push back and Pittsburgh last year. I'll give
you this. Do you know what Aaron Rodgers record was
last year for the Steelers ten and six? Ten and six.
They hadn't had a quarterback a real quarterback.
Speaker 6 (25:41):
Are we applauding ten and six? No, Steelers didn't go
nine to eight.
Speaker 5 (25:46):
No, they won the division with Aaron Rodgers, with the
guy you want to disappear, you can pooh pull it
all you want.
Speaker 6 (25:53):
They came division. We already know about the Browns the Bagels.
Speaker 8 (26:00):
This year is not.
Speaker 6 (26:00):
Gonna be like that.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
No, who cares about that.
Speaker 6 (26:03):
I'm about to get a quarterback that can move in
this league, at least move in the pocket.
Speaker 5 (26:09):
He's forty two, Rob, I know he's forty two. But
I'm saying to you, do you know what this? The
NFL doesn't have quarterbacks. Look around, they have quarterbacks. Don't
proper quarterbacks coming in in the draft.
Speaker 3 (26:23):
Ain't nobody talking about no draft.
Speaker 5 (26:25):
I'm talking about quarterbacks who are proven, who can play.
Speaker 6 (26:29):
And you could say whatever. The Rivers, they these little guys,
no country for old man. These old guys saw Philip
Rivers and now none one of Philip Rivers was a
bad uh Britain back. But now Aaron Rodgers says he
can play. Until he was Tom Brady's age, Tom Brady
played to the forty four forty five Philip Rivers comes back.
Now these guys just want to drag this out. I
know he doesn't want to go to camp, and they
(26:51):
probably will entertain him.
Speaker 5 (26:52):
They will let time there's a chance who should play.
They don't have a quarterback.
Speaker 6 (26:58):
And until they Jill Howard, they shouldn't dragon to have
him quarterback. My points signed, somebody, go sign somebody. Michael
Carton coming in, McCarty's coming in because they kicked Tomlin
to the curve. Well, Tomlin stepped down, but Tomlin couldn't
get them to the promised land. He was just good enough,
just good enough, just good enough, which is not good enough.
And Aaron Rodgers coming back is gonna be mid again.
(27:20):
I'm telling you we're alwaysting our time entertaining his guy,
so and so instead of being mid, you're gonna go
up three and and fourteen to three games because Dealers coaching,
they're not gonna know the Steelers will win, because you're
gonna win more games. He'll probably win another nine or
ten games with a serviceable quarterback. Oh you exactly who
that's going.
Speaker 5 (27:40):
But there's the issue, and it's easy to say, go
get somebody else, go do is all I know? If
you're the Steelers from a year ago. Aaron Rodgers connected
with that team. They were he was ten and six
when he played. He missed a couple of games to injury. Right,
he played, he was ten and six. They wanted the
(28:00):
They got smoked in the postseason, the playoff game. I'll
give you that against a really good defense in the Texans.
Speaker 6 (28:09):
And you shouldn't even have got to the playoffs. Now
I'm thinking about it, well, but they didn't. What happened
They won the game. And all I'm saying to live yeah,
all right, that that's called football. And you could sit
here all day and talk about why left, why right?
Speaker 3 (28:20):
The football can give you all of that.
Speaker 5 (28:22):
If I did that with Tom Brady, who's the low
the luckiest of all time, I could take away for
his Super Bowls about being lucky.
Speaker 3 (28:30):
So all I'm.
Speaker 6 (28:30):
Saying is, but Rogers got won Super Bowl. He's not
getting another one. If you want to be made, bring
him back. He's not taking you to the Promised Land.
Stop wasting.
Speaker 5 (28:38):
Okay, I'm gonna give you exhibit A on why you're
off base. Okay, Peyton Manning won a Super Bowl as
the ten man with Denver.
Speaker 3 (28:46):
Do you remember the defense was stat Okay?
Speaker 5 (28:49):
But but my point is he wasn't the quarterback that
he was prior and he won a Super Bowl. He
threw for less than two hundred yards, he threw one touchdown,
one pick. Different game. No initiate the game differently. In
the game, you can win and if you have the
right quarterback. I'll tell you right now, if Aaron Rodgers
(29:10):
was on the Texas last year, they would have won
the Super Bowl with that defense.
Speaker 6 (29:13):
I'll give you that. I'll get you that. Okaj Strauviss
just handing the ball over. But I don't trying to.
Steelers have enough around Aaron Rodgers with the first year
not first year head coach, but obviously the first year
of Mike McCarthy coaching the Steelers to actually be any
better than they were last year. I think it'll be
another wasted year and then Aaron Rodgers will bow out.
He should just ride off into the sunset with the
(29:34):
fact that he played for another story franchise got them
to the playoffs, and that's it. Bro Go check with
your wife being malible, be on the beach, go go
go do ayahuasca, like go go do anything else. I'm
good on Aaron Rodgers saga. Another year it is no Moss,
no moss.
Speaker 5 (29:50):
I'm just like I don't get caught up personally, Like
it doesn't bother me. If a guy wants to play.
He played well last year. I remember two years ago
when everybody said he was watched. He had the same
stats as Patrick Mahomes. With all the Mahomes people call in,
Go look up the stats. Two years ago, the year
that Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs went to the Super Bowl,
Aaron Rodgers had the same exact stats as Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 6 (30:13):
The stats can be misleading. Aaron, he doesn't necessary like
his arm is still there, but he doesn't necessarily have
that like speed that he had them getting the ball
to where it's got to go. Even some accuracy. He
misses some throws.
Speaker 3 (30:25):
He's old.
Speaker 6 (30:26):
And the last thing I'll say about him, he's scared
to take a hit. He's chucking duck. He does not
want to get hit because he's old and he's fragile.
He's a tough game. He's a rough game. He's gonna
get hit, old man.
Speaker 5 (30:36):
He's still he still won ten games. And the division
you could discount at all you want. The Steelers have
one division. I would run a Banks. That'll be because
of Mike McCarthy and his history with Aaron Rodgers, and
it could be one year until they can find a quarterback.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
They don't have a quarterback. That's the only reason.
Speaker 5 (30:54):
If they really had a guy in the house for
the quarterback position, they wouldn't do it.
Speaker 3 (30:58):
I agree with.
Speaker 6 (30:59):
You, day a happy go pay Malik Williston.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
What you're talking about Willis? They ain't doing that.
Speaker 6 (31:05):
Talking about Malik Willis. Does he want to go to
the Cardinals or does he want to go to the Steelers?
All right, Steelers drafted? Can he pick it and passed
on him a couple of years back? Run it back,
bring Mike Malik Willison. I'm telling you Aaron Rodgers is
cooked and he always makes it about himself and he
blames people and he's it's never him, it's never him.
I couldn't do it. I wouldn't want to do it
(31:25):
if I was Mike McCarthy nor Moss. No thanks, all right,
we're going to the association. And are the Pistons frauds?
Speaker 3 (31:32):
Yes or no?
Speaker 5 (31:33):
We'll talk about that next. It is the odd couple
in the little sheckle city. And you know what you
need to do stick.
Speaker 6 (31:39):
And stay, especially if you feel like this in the
US of are Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 2 (31:45):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
It is The Odd Couple, Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (32:00):
On a worship Wednesday, Rock Halm Moist after that, Rob Parker,
Keith McPherson filling in for Kelvin Washington right here on
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
And don't forget coming up.
Speaker 5 (32:16):
We got a lot of stuff to get to an
hour number two including Antonio Daniels. Will do that and
much more. But first it's time for the player today.
Speaker 13 (32:28):
Cavs by fine Shrewder quickly into the four court Shrewder
on the handoff to Harden at the half court line.
Harden with the ball in his hands. Harden on the
left hand, dribble left in the lane.
Speaker 3 (32:40):
Thanks Goars, James.
Speaker 5 (32:42):
Hardon Play Today Calves Radio. There you go. That was
a big win for the Calves. No, Donovan Mitchell, right,
and that's right, and they still beat the Pistons. All right, Keith,
Now it's time for the That was it I'm sorry
(33:03):
that was the player today. I meant to say that,
and the player today was brought to you by tire Rack.

(33:25):
way tire buying should be.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
Now it's time for Shekel City.
Speaker 2 (33:28):
Welcome to Shekel City, of the home base for Rob
Parkers Day dicks against the spread?
Speaker 7 (33:37):
What did I.
Speaker 3 (33:40):
Knew that I did do that last night on Shekel City.
I was two and one. My record now is sixty
and thirty eight.
Speaker 5 (33:50):
Ol Ge Elijah Monsey, Keith, you hear that?
Speaker 3 (33:56):
Sixty and thirty eight when I'm.
Speaker 5 (33:58):
Picking against the spread Vegas. That's right, all right. Here's
my picks for the night. I got the Clippers minus
twelve and a half. They host the Indiana Pacers here
in Los Angeles. I got the Portland trail Blazers minus
ten and a half. They're in Memphis taking on the Grizzlies.
And then I got the Milwaukee Bucks minus one and
(34:20):
a half. They're hosting the Atlanta Hawks. So here we
go again, the Bucks minus one and a half, Trail
Blazers minus ten and a half, and the Clippers minus
twelve and a half and Keith guess what, I'm not
telling you who to bet on. I'm telling you who
I bet on. All right, let's go to the Pistons.
(34:41):
And I know people always like Rob is a Detroit hater,
Rob G. Last night, I don't care anybody says that
was a nice win for the Cavaliers. No, Donovan Mitchell
and Rob G, you have some details, right.
Speaker 3 (34:56):
Yeah, you know.
Speaker 9 (34:56):
Coming into the game, the big headline was that the
anonymically the Cavs players said that the Pistons are not
in our class. And it's like, well, they proved it
last night because with that Donovan Mitchell down a couple
of starters, they beat the Pistons. And to your point, Rob,
the Detroit Pistons since the All Star Break, they cannot
hit the red side of a barn coming into last night,
tune twenty six percent from deep on the season, twenty
(35:19):
eighth and three pointers made per game, twenty six and
three point percentage.
Speaker 3 (35:23):
Tough scene for our Pistons.
Speaker 5 (35:25):
I know, because you guys have adopted the Pistons here
because of Kelvin. Kelvin Washington from Michigan, so he's a
big Piston slappy. But Keith, this is what worries me
about the Pistons. And I know they have the best
record in the NBA, right, don't They have the best
record in the NBA? I know in the East. But
the problem is they're shooting. Their three point shooting is atrocious.
(35:48):
How do you make those baskets in the postseason? It
can't be all Kate Cunningham, who else Who's gonna make
a big basket? They dominated the Knicks this last year,
you know this, in the regular season, and what happened.
Speaker 3 (36:03):
The Knicks won the playoffs series. The Knicks won. The
Pistons couldn't even win a home game in the playoffs.
Speaker 6 (36:09):
I'm in here watching the Knicks now they're actually playing
against the team with the best record, because it says
forty eight and fifteen on my screen, and I'm like,
I don't think the Pistons. The Pistons have forty five
forty five, so second, so they have the best record
in the EASE East. But either way, you know, a
couple of weeks ago, they beat the Knicks in the
garden and then that's when the caid MVP stuff started to,
(36:31):
you know, really peak. The odds were going up. He
even said it with his chest about MVP stuff, and
like you know, he dropped forty in the garden and
everybody was saying, whoa, look at the big bad Pistons.
They made a statement, but they've come down a little bit.
Last Friday, they probably should have lost to Cleveland in overtime.
They barely you know, escaped that without Harden, without Mitchell.
(36:52):
And then last about that, right, it took overtime for
the Pistons to beat them without Harden didn't play in
that game either, right, two guys, So I mean anonymous
or not, It doesn't matter who says it. Ball don't lie.
We saw it last night. Cleveland is not worried about them.
And it's weird because this night tonight is week to
(37:12):
week in the NBA, and I know the Knicks are
worried about the Pistons because they got swept by him
and they lost by an average of twenty eight points
in the three contests, and it seems like the Pistons
turn up for the Knicks because of last year. Last
year the Knicks went to Detroit and they beat them
all three games. Right but right now the Cavs look
at the Pistons like, you can't rock with us. You're
not in Miklasa.
Speaker 5 (37:33):
So and here's the other thing too, with Harden, since
he got there eight and one, like you could say whatever,
they're eight and one.
Speaker 3 (37:40):
I know Harden is not a.
Speaker 5 (37:41):
Postseason player something to look at, but I just think
when you have such a deficiency, they gotta figure that out.
You can't shoot that poorly from three in this man's
NBA and expect to win a lot of playoff games.
I just don't think that. I think that's going to ultimately.
They have the other stuff. They play defense, they play hard,
they're physical. I like a lot of stuff about the Pistons.
Speaker 6 (38:04):
The shoe gotta bring. They got to get their boy
Milik Beasley back in somehow.
Speaker 3 (38:08):
Yeah, where is it? What happened to that?
Speaker 6 (38:11):
Some things went on? I think he's in Puerto Rico.
He took he took the under. He's out of the
league now.
Speaker 5 (38:16):
I think, what the sound I'm sorry you are number
two of the odd couples coming up stick and stings,
