start with the NBA Playoffs. You're in New York. You
know the Knicks did that thing. They flexed their muscles,
Rob G. It was a pretty ugly game if you're
the Philadelphia seventy six ers.

Yeah, I mean it was a record setting performance there
by the New York Knickerbockers. They've won their last four games, Rob,
I don't know if you saw this by a combined
one hundred and twenty five points, can you say flu?

I'm sorry, Fluke. I don't know, maybe by twenty five.

It's a flu twenty five sounds like a trend to me,
and that's not it. I mean, they blew the doors
off of the Philadelphia seventy six ers. They won by
thirty nine points. They have just been running roughshot the
last three games there against Atlanta, Game one here against Philadelphia.

It's all coming up orange and blue. Right now in
the NBA.

But Keith, I know you want to tryst the Sixers,
so I'm gonna let you take the floor because we
got something to talk about.

Yeah, I mean, Philly did all that talking right. They
came back. They knocked off big bad Boston, but they
weren't big and bad again. Another series ends for Boston
and Tatum is not on the floor. But the Sixers fans,
they acted like they wanted this smoke with the Knicks
going back to twenty twenty four and the way that
they came out in Game one was a complete no

show and the amount of excuses afterwards. I'm like, come on, Philly,
y'all supposed to be tough. Come on, Philly. I thought
y'all were rying high. You know, Phillies fired their manager.
They start winning games, the Flyers winning overtime, they start
winning games. You know, they get Mkay Lemon in the draft.
Philly was pumping their chest out and then all of
a sudden, they got humbled in the garden and it

looked like the JV versus the eighth grade team. This
can't go on. I heard that the Knicks won't shoot
like this again. I heard that it was Oh, they
didn't get enough rest. You know it was a big
game seven series coming off of one day rest, and try.
I don't want the excuses you got embied back obviously
have Maxi and Paul George and Tsunami Poppy and VJ.

Edgecomb and everybody else that you got on that team.
I want to see the Sixers make this a series.
And right now I'm thinking they're about to get swept
or the gentleman suite.

what it's gonna Because they weren't supposed to beat the
Celtics either, right, and they look bad against the Celtics,
and guess what, They came back and won a Game

York against these Knicks who last year when they beat
the Celtics, everybody peddled them in to the NBA five.
All they gotta do is beat Indiana. Oh, they were

to go to against Indiana.

Game won and guess what.

They lost and lost that series. They have a new
coach because they couldn't get.

Like those games, they could have swept the Hawks. They

New York. There's a lot of over reaction.

Look at the team, everybody from Brunting to Cat, to
Mitch to Og to McHale to Josh Hart. They were
all clicking. And they've done this now three games in
a row. But that series, it doesn't one game. This
is a new series. It's game and.

Listen, building building in one game in New York and
you get what you wanted. And my point is, don't
count out the Sixers.

something coming back in that Boston series, down three.

That's when I'll believe that the Knicks are in the championship,

games they win, because I've seen.

The last time the Knicks won a championship, Moby Dick

rob if they leave two oh, if if the Knicks
leave and go down to Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly

But the only problem is you gotta remember this first

had heavy legs. They had played seven games in the
first round, and he was smart, we're not gonna win
this game.

We'll be ready for Game two, and the series doesn't
start in the NBA until the road team wins, So
the Knicks winning it at the Garden is not doesn't
mean the series is over. Go to Philadelphia, win Game three,
then maybe if you win, if you hold court at home.
But all the Sixers have to do is steal one game.
They're battle tested. They knocked off the Celtics. They were down.

Everybody in their uncle counted out the seventy six ers.
I'm not one of those guys. I've seen it before
the Knicks. The Knicks are from New York, they're from Missouri.
To show me state, they gotta show me before I
buy into this ragtag group. There hasn't been able to

they wanted. This was supposed to be the year, all right.
Everybody's injured, everybody's banged up. The Pacers, uh, the Celtics. Oh,
the knickas like it could be the next year to
get to the finals all.

my point, that doesn't matter talking about right now.

We're talking about right now, Rob They're They're eight point
favorites in game two. That's just which way do you want?
You want it to be the brunts and burner, you
want the bodega cat. I'm telling you, I was at
game one of the Hawks series. I thought for sure
they were they were a gentleman sweeping them, and they
lost back to back games by one point. They're not
losing back to back games by one game. Oh yeah,

You don't believe Keith for one minute that they're sweeping
the seventy six ers because I'll bet you twenty wings
and a tall one.

Okay, I'm without the gentleman sweep, but really, because.

You know they you know they're gonna protect home court,
and I do expect, you know, Tyrese Maxey to bounce back.
But the way that the Knicks have clicked in the
last three games, something has changed. And when I was
looking at.

The basketball on the other side and they had a stinker,
don't don't don't lump in the seventy six ers with
the with the Hawks. Don't lump them in. That's not
the same it WASWKS game. It would be like saying, oh, yeah,
the Pistons are gonna win the NBA Championship. Because they
came back against a a Orlando Magic team that that

missed twenty seven straight shots and had their second best
player hurt. That's not how you you gauge it. It
was one game. They won the game. I tip my cap,
but one game does not make a series, and you
need to stop with that. This is where the difference
between uh, you young guys who were prisoners of the moment.

Yes, they don't play until tomorrow night, so all I
can go off of is their last three games. They
dismantled the Hawks where you turn the game off at
halftime in the elimination game, and it was the same
damn thing for Game one against the Sixers. So what
I'm saying is this is a snowball effect. They are
steam rolling teams now, they are playing the best in

the playoffs, and if they are rested, they were the
first team in the East to advance healthy connected under
Mike Brown. I don't see this train stopping, and I
don't see a flopping, limping Joel Embiid turning it on
against whom I don't see VJ Edgecomb, a rookie turning
it on Maxie. I'll give you because I've seen Maxi
ball against him two years ago. We know what type

of time he's on. Is Paul George gonna be heroic?

I just think the Knicks have enough depth, they have
enough experience as a team, Like this is Knickson five
or six. I don't think it's going seven. I don't
expect to sweep. And I give you that game one.
Don't believe just game one. But Yo, like, are they
looking like they can stop the Knicks? The Knicks are
the only team that's gonna stop the Knicks in the
East is looking like maybe it is. I want to
get ahead of myself, but I was impressed with Game one.

I was impressed with Game six and five against the Hawks.
I'm not no Knicks fan. I'm surrounded by Knicks fans.
They're surrounding the whole seventh av They're gonna have to
shut that down.

about the Pacers beating the Knicks game one in the
Eastern Conference Finals, that's.

One thing I'm telling y'all. The Knicks run there building.

If they do not split like this, this game tomorrow
night is gonna be pivotal. And the Knicks in the
post game, we're definitely talking like, yeah, we know it's
just one game. We haven't won anything yet, but I'm
telling you there's no home court advantage for Philly and
they're not facing Boston. There's a lot of different looks
and weapons and ways that the Knicks can get at
you offensively and defensively. It's a problem if Mikale Bridges

is cooking you. It's not just brunts and it's not
just cats. So I know it's one game. It's one game.
Nothing's over yet, But I just I don't see it.
I don't see this Sixers team coming together late in
the season as they have and knocking down this Knicks
team that is battle tested last year and this year.

Yeah, I don't know. I just think the Knicks have
a history of not getting it done, crumbling when you
think they have an easy path. I think that's my
stop is that we've seen this movie before, right. They
would throttling the Pacers until the final two minutes and
thirty seconds at home and then choke down. A colossal

game would tip that series. Would you agree with that?
I mean that was colossal. So you beat the you
beat the seventy six Ers, you beat the snot out
of them in game one. If the Sixers win Game two,
you don't feel the same. That's how quickly it can change.

If the Sixers come back, put together a dominant performance
and Cat and Brunton Berner uh fades out or whatever
it plays hero ball like they do sometimes when they
lose and they play hero ball. Then all of a sudden,

you look at.

Yeah, but the Hawks. That wasn't a nomaly. Teams don't.
Teams don't play like that. A shoot like that, that'll
never happen again. That was one of those games that
just happened and you look at it and you just
leave it over there. It's like it's like the Pistons
game with the magic missing. What were they one for
twenty in the fourth quarter? What?

An anomaly, never gonna happen. The Celtics just shot terribly again,
missed one hundred threes, right.

gonna shoot like they shot in Game one again. They might.

Let's start with the the Knicks and the Sixers. And
Keith is convinced the Knicks are going to the finals.
They won game one. I know I'm not there. I'm
not there with one game. I know how this plays out.
Where are you on this? Because I've just seen this
movie too many times with the Knicks.

Well, look, the thing I was excited about was actually
watching what was supposed to be a matchup of bigs, right,
Carl Anthony Towns. You got Joel and B and B
both considered themselves stretch five. So I was interested in seeing,
you know, you know, who was gonna dominate and impose
themselves on the opposing opponent, uh, physically and obviously Karl
(22:17):
Anthony Towns came out on top with that. And look,
I knew that it would kind of be lopsided. The
Sixers coming off that series that they had seven games.
It's a hard turnaround to get yourselves back up to
start the second round of the series. I expected it
to go similar to that. I didn't know by that much,

but you know, I'm I'm looking for Look, Max, he's
not gonna play like that. I think that young rookie
good Lord for Philly. He's the He's the real deal,
all right, He's the real deal. They have an excellent
headscomb and that building block edge comb. I think this

will even out this series. That even out. I won't
give the New York Knicks the championship right now, but
they definitely have a stronger team in terms of playing
their roles and playing well.

definitely think they get past the Sixers and Embiid. And
that's where I want to focus on with you. What
version of Embiid are we about to see in this series?
Jalen Brown just talked about him flopping and getting his whistles.

You know, he's always hurt, he's always on the ground.

I feel like the only way we see the Sixers
come back and compete is if Embiid takes over, because
he can be unstoppable at times, but I really don't
think that he's gonna be able to do that. What
are your thoughts on Embiid and his impact in this series?

And I feel I share some of those same sentiments
Jalen Brown had, Like I on my group text, I
was like, I can't take it. You can't be that
big and that strong and fall that much. There's a
reason why he's always getting banged up. He's on the
ground far too much to be that big. You can't

shoot a fade away jump shot from the free throw
line and end up on the ground. You can't get
the ball in the post last series and Derek White
guarding you and you turn around, you throw the ball
up and you end up on the ground. Like at
that size, you can't play like that. And as long
as Joel Ebiid is looking for the foul and not

powering through it, they're not going to go far. And
you look at his numbers the first half of those
games where he had explosions, he was shooting threes. I mean, Joe,
if you look at his numbers before that game yesterday
against the Knicks, he was shooting fifteen percent from three.
He was three for twenty. I don't need that. I
don't need a trail three from you. He never rolls

to the basket. He's a pick and pop big when
no one was on the court that could guard him
down low. And if as long as he's has that mentality,
he's not going to match Karl Anthony Towns, Force or
Robinson for down load. He doesn't want any part of
the down low game. And that's a shame.

a good friend, really good friend who played won a
championship in the NBA, Glenn Big Baby Davis. We were

talking about Victor woman Yama and his abilities, and he
said something that resonated with me. Glenn told me something
that resonated with me that I would like to see
the women Yama. Dudes, easy shots make the game easy. Yes,
we know you can bring the ball up the court,
you can go twing tweens, step back three, You got

all the moves, but at seven five, you don't need
all the moves. If he can simplify his game and
just pick you apart with the easy but high post,
no one can block your shot. He'll shoot eighty percent
from there. Even if he got down into the low post,
he shoots eighty five percent down there. No one can
block your shots. If he stopped trying to show people

his bag and everything. Number one. It'll it'll save him
from injuries. I'm telling you he we had that convers
I had that conversation with Big Baby, and that next
day was the day he came down and hit his
head on the ground, right, Like you have to at
some at that size, the game should be as easy

But can we talk about ant Man his impact? I
feel like, you know, he came out like wwe like
they didn't know he was gonna play. It's like, is

I think that's gonna go a long way for them.

What do you think about ant Man and his impact
versus Wenby and the Spurs in this series.

Look, we expect that from ant whether he was gonna
play or not. I'm glad he came out and came
off the bench and played. He gave eighteen points, he
played some big minutes he had you know, down the stretch,
he almost gave that game away, right, So he's got
to be better there down the But in that series,
I think the biggest part of this series and has

been in the playoffs of Minnesota is the stifled power
right Rudy Gobert. I think he's the only person in
the league that Wimby has to really try to shoot
over and the round. And you know, it makes sense

can't go on. I heard that the Knicks won't shoot

But all the Sixers have to do is steal one game.
They're battle tested. They knocked off the Celtics. They were down.

I'm not one of those guys. I've seen it before
the Knicks. The Knicks are from New York, they're from Missouri.
To show me state, they gotta show me before I
buy into this ragtag group. There hasn't been able to

Everybody's injured, everybody's banged up. The Pacers, uh, the Celtics. Oh,

game one of the Hawks series. I thought for sure

lost back to back games by one point. They're not

the same it WASWKS game. It would be like saying, oh, yeah,

player hurt. That's not how you you gauge it. It
was one game. They won the game. I tip my cap,
but one game does not make a series, and you
need to stop with that. This is where the difference

can go off of is their last three games. They

steam rolling teams now, they are playing the best in

the playoffs, and if they are rested, they were the
first team in the East to advance healthy connected under
Mike Brown. I don't see this train stopping, and I
don't see a flopping, limping Joel Embiid turning it on
against whom I don't see VJ Edgecomb, a rookie turning
it on Maxie. I'll give you because I've seen Maxi
ball against him two years ago. We know what type

I just think the Knicks have enough depth, they have
enough experience as a team, Like this is Knickson five

the only team that's gonna stop the Knicks in the
East is looking like maybe it is. I want to

telling you there's no home court advantage for Philly and
they're not facing Boston. There's a lot of different looks
and weapons and ways that the Knicks can get at
you offensively and defensively. It's a problem if Mikale Bridges

just cats. So I know it's one game. It's one game.
Nothing's over yet, But I just I don't see it.
I don't see this Sixers team coming together late in
the season as they have and knocking down this Knicks
team that is battle tested last year and this year.

Yeah, I don't know. I just think the Knicks have
a history of not getting it done, crumbling when you
think they have an easy path. I think that's my
stop is that we've seen this movie before, right. They
would throttling the Pacers until the final two minutes and

I mean that was colossal. So you beat the you
beat the seventy six Ers, you beat the snot out
of them in game one. If the Sixers win Game two,
you don't feel the same. That's how quickly it can change.

If the Sixers come back, put together a dominant performance

Where are you on this? Because I've just seen this
movie too many times with the Knicks.

Well, look, the thing I was excited about was actually
watching what was supposed to be a matchup of bigs, right,
Carl Anthony Towns. You got Joel and B and B
both considered themselves stretch five. So I was interested in seeing,
you know, you know, who was gonna dominate and impose
themselves on the opposing opponent, uh, physically and obviously Karl
(22:17):
Anthony Towns came out on top with that. And look,
I knew that it would kind of be lopsided. The
Sixers coming off that series that they had seven games.
It's a hard turnaround to get yourselves back up to
start the second round of the series. I expected it
to go similar to that. I didn't know by that much,

but you know, I'm I'm looking for Look, Max, he's
not gonna play like that. I think that young rookie
good Lord for Philly. He's the He's the real deal,
all right, He's the real deal. They have an excellent
headscomb and that building block edge comb. I think this
(23:04):
will even out this series. That even out. I won't
give the New York Knicks the championship right now, but
they definitely have a stronger team in terms of playing
their roles and playing well.
Speaker 7 (23:21):
Yeah, I'm not giving them a championship yet, but I
definitely think they get past the Sixers and Embiid. And
that's where I want to focus on with you. What
version of Embiid are we about to see in this series?
Jalen Brown just talked about him flopping and getting his whistles.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
You know, he's always hurt, he's always on the ground.
Speaker 7 (23:38):
I feel like the only way we see the Sixers
come back and compete is if Embiid takes over, because
he can be unstoppable at times, but I really don't
think that he's gonna be able to do that. What
are your thoughts on Embiid and his impact in this series?
Speaker 6 (23:51):
And I feel I share some of those same sentiments
Jalen Brown had, Like I on my group text, I
was like, I can't take it. You can't be that
big and that strong and fall that much. There's a
reason why he's always getting banged up. He's on the
ground far too much to be that big. You can't
(24:11):
shoot a fade away jump shot from the free throw
line and end up on the ground. You can't get
the ball in the post last series and Derek White
guarding you and you turn around, you throw the ball
up and you end up on the ground. Like at
that size, you can't play like that. And as long
as Joel Ebiid is looking for the foul and not
(24:32):
powering through it, they're not going to go far. And
you look at his numbers the first half of those
games where he had explosions, he was shooting threes. I mean, Joe,
if you look at his numbers before that game yesterday
against the Knicks, he was shooting fifteen percent from three.
He was three for twenty. I don't need that. I
don't need a trail three from you. He never rolls
(24:54):
to the basket. He's a pick and pop big when
no one was on the court that could guard him
down low. And if as long as he's has that mentality,
he's not going to match Karl Anthony Towns, Force or
Robinson for down load. He doesn't want any part of
the down low game. And that's a shame.

I wanted to ask you about my favorite player right now,
and we're talking about Wimby. Uh are you when it
comes to Wimby? Can we say that you would like

to see him play big sometimes, you know what I mean,
like and not settle for just shooting from the perimeter
Like I mean, I know how good he is, but
last night was one of those examples where you said,
can you can you play big?

I'll do this now. Last night he was two from
eight I think from three point lands. He was shooting
seventy percent from anywhere inside the three point line, but
he took eight threes as long as Victor Woman Yama
is taking eight or more threes, You're not gonna win.

You're not gonna win because you take away two things.
You take them away from the basket for rebounds and
easy putbacks, and you're making someone who's unguardable takes shots
that you can get from anybody. A good friend of mine,
a good friend, really good friend who played won a
championship in the NBA, Glenn Big Baby Davis. We were

talking about Victor woman Yama and his abilities, and he
said something that resonated with me. Glenn told me something
that resonated with me that I would like to see
the women Yama. Dudes, easy shots make the game easy. Yes,
we know you can bring the ball up the court,
you can go twing tweens, step back three, You got
(26:55):
all the moves, but at seven five, you don't need
all the moves. If he can simplify his game and
just pick you apart with the easy but high post,
no one can block your shot. He'll shoot eighty percent
from there. Even if he got down into the low post,
he shoots eighty five percent down there. No one can
block your shots. If he stopped trying to show people

his bag and everything. Number one. It'll it'll save him
from injuries. I'm telling you he we had that convers
I had that conversation with Big Baby, and that next
day was the day he came down and hit his
head on the ground, right, Like you have to at
some at that size, the game should be as easy
as possible. The reason Kareem scored so many points is

he had a shot that no one could stop. Miser
women Yama has.

That right, and you don't have to do it for
yourself because everybody knows one thing. Everyone knows it's whimsy,
no doubt.

Go ahead, Timberwolves, ant Man. I just look at the
timber Wolves as a more experienced team. They got the
coaching edge, and I feel like they got more dogs
on their team.

Only game one again, we're not giving them the series,
But can we talk about ant Man his impact? I
feel like, you know, he came out like wwe like
they didn't know he was gonna play. It's like, is
that ant Man's music and having that guy, having that dog,
that killer instinct, that superstar.

I think that's gonna go a long way for them.

What do you think about ant Man and his impact
versus Wenby and the Spurs in this series.

Look, we expect that from ant whether he was gonna
play or not. I'm glad he came out and came
off the bench and played. He gave eighteen points, he
played some big minutes he had you know, down the stretch,
he almost gave that game away, right, So he's got
to be better there down the But in that series,
I think the biggest part of this series and has

been in the playoffs of Minnesota is the stifled power
right Rudy Gobert. I think he's the only person in
the league that Wimby has to really try to shoot
over and the round. And you know, it makes sense

why Winby was taking so many threes and then when
you take him out and he has to guard nas
Red like he's a real stretch five, like he would
rather shoot threes than anything. For Again, it also pulls
Wimby away from the paint. He had twelve blocks last night,
but knowing they got all the rebounds, they got all

the the the they got the ball of Minnesota off
of those blocks. Because no one they're under size everywhere else.

The Lakers and people aren't giving them a chance at

And I'm like, Oh, he's gonna be sitting in a
fish powl while everybody watched him.

What if he has to go to the bathroom, What

They better have a downstairs bathroom. This is called the
Chief World Cup Watcher. This role fifty one hundred and
four matches a thirty nine day tournament. It's gonna kick
off when they do Boston Red Sox versus Yankees on Fox.
They're gonna announce it on June sixth, and then when
everything concludes July twenty six, it'll be done. But to
take home fifty thousand dollars for watching the World Cup.

Most people are gonna watch it anyway. Now, let me
ask you if I did it.
Speaker 5 (36:32):
It cannot nap if I sleep through some of the matches,
or do you have to stay away?

I mean my career TV would be on, but I
probably would be sleep because I'll have no intention.

you can't do that. Well, I was a gonna say
my career started in the MLB Fan Cave. And the
whole premise of the MRB Fan Cave was these eight
fans watch every pitch of every game.

You can show up to the fan Cave and watch
with them.
Speaker 7 (36:58):
And we weren't allowed to sleep, we weren't allowed to
take naps, we were allowed to leave. And that's what
I was trying to figure out, what this guy is
This guy allowed to go sleep at night?
Speaker 2 (37:07):
Are they going to give him an apartment?
Speaker 6 (37:08):

We had nice apartments? That was the thing they didn't
say about us. We had six thousand dollars a month
eight months. They took care a lot of things. We
were nice apartments in soho for this stunt, this activation?
That was eight of us?

What you always that? I remember that that was twenty fourteen.
Speaker 7 (37:23):
That was Derek Jeter's final season, and that was the
final season of the fan Cave because we ruined it.
Man Fred came in the next year bud Selig was done.
He got rid of it. No more fan cave after that.
But I was in the last one.
Speaker 5 (37:34):
That's pretty cool. This one sounds something rob G. You're
a soccer fan, right, would you do that? That is
incredibly racist?
Speaker 2 (37:42):
Roper? What what? Because I said it was racists? Is
the one who played soccer? But I thought you like
you don't like soccer? Racist?
Speaker 5 (37:50):
So because I'm Mexican, I like soccer, Robbo, can I
say that I didn't like freakball?
