Speaker 4 (02:19):
It's a Finals Game two Spurs Knicks in San Antonio.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (02:24):
I feel like you needed me to bring some New
York City energy, obviously with the Knicks versus the Spurs
in game two, also with Aaron Judge not gonna be
playing for a little while, but the Red Sox are
in town, and you know there's a bunch to go
over in the wide world of sports.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
So thanks for having me back.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
Rob.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
Let's get into it all, no doubt about it. And
too soon. When you mentioned the Aaron Judge, it is uh,
you know.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
It's a it's too soon bro. There you go.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
It also hurts MLB bro. You know that's our guy
right there, Aaron Judge. But anyway, he'll be back. The
only thing that they have going is they got that
great starting which I think ultimately Keith ultimately will be
the reason they get back to the World Series. But anyway, yes,
we got a lot to get into. And remember you

(03:10):
can check us out on YouTube. You can watch us
going out. That's right coast to coast, Keith to New York.

just trying to show the guns because we're on YouTube.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
You know what I'm saying, if we got any ladies
out there watching it, I'll show him something and put
the put a jacket on. Aren't you married?

Steve the Seger's at the anchor desk. He'll keep us
updated throughout the program.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
And I've never heard of them. I've never heard of them.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
Elijah Yes is our social media google.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
All right, Rob G, let's set the stage.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
Let's set the stage, not the table for Game two
in US Antonio, where the Knicks have a one game
to none lead. Obviously a big game for the Spurs.

Speaker 6 (04:49):
It's a huge game for the Spurs's already said that
after losing Game one, they're more than likely to lose
this year. But if they lose Game two, you can
basically put a nail in the coffin. And as much
as we want to talk about our guy, Victor Wimbanyama,
he was fine statistically, didn't have his best shooting reforms
a game win, But the.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
Six for twenty one I ain't going I ain't gonna happen.

Speaker 6 (05:10):
But the rest of the young Spurs, the team that
we're so excited about, the one that Rob claimed early
on this season, didn't quite show up. And we don't
know if they're gonna show up here in Game two,
but we are very confident. Everybody knows this Wemby's gonna
show up.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
Everyone knows it's Twimby, no doubt. And I do want
to say this, Keith uh the pressure is on not
the Spurs, but on Wimby. He's the guy who's been

(05:45):
able to bounce back when having a stinker, when things
haven't gone right, when they've lost. And I don't have
any doubt that he's made of that. He has a
passion for it, he's all about it. He wants to win.
This is a young guy who's twenty two years old,
could just be like, Hey, this is great. What an experience.

(06:06):
We saw this when they made it into the finals, Keith,
do you remember the emotion that we saw from Wimby?

Speaker 2 (06:12):
People are like, do you like that? I like that.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
He's about that. He doesn't want to hear about the
team's too young. He's too young. Only veteran teams win
the NBA Finals. He is a prodigy. He is a unicorn.
He's something that we haven't seen, and time after time
I've seen him answer the bell during this whole season

(06:39):
and this stretch. I have very little doubt that you
won't get a six for twenty one performance. Am I
saying he's gonna go forty one and twenty four like
he did in Game one to shock Okse? No, I'm
not calling for that. He understands what's at stake. You

(07:00):
can't lose the first two games at home. Very few
teams have been able to bounce back from that. It's
just a recipe for a disaster. You already gave up
home court and it could easily be rectified. You win
game two, you go to Madison square guard, and you
win game three, you get home court.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Back. It's just that simple. It ain't the end of
the world.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
People overreact to one game the same way after Winby
went off in Game one, people were ready, go back
Keith and look at everybody.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
He's the greatest player. Look he will Jay he did. No,
it's a process. It's lengthy.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
Career.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
You got to put in time and energy and all
that other stuff. But tonight, you know, we talk about
all the time, tonight belongs to like some sort of
great beer you'd like to have tonight, let it be Wimby.
It's going to be about Winby tonight. And he will
respond big games when he's trailing in the series. He's

(08:04):
had a big games for his team.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Yeah, maybe I've just been in New York too long.
Last time I was on this show in New York,
the New York Knicks went up two to oh on
the Sixers, and I was trying to tell y'all, if
they go up two oh and go to Philly, its
wraps sweep brooms.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Now here we are hm.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
The last time the Knicks lost the game was April
twenty third, the night of the NFL Draft.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
I went to the Giants watch party out there at
Hudson yards.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
Then we walked to Madison Square Garden for the watch
party outside and watch them lose to the heat. They
haven't lost a game since. I don't think they lose tonight.
Everybody knows this Bronson. My thing is if Jalen Brunson
somehow Wolverine healed and that knee is fine, that ankle's fine,
and he's ready to go and locked in.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
He leads the way.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
He's the captain, and when it comes down to crunch time,
you know he's the clutch player of the year from
last here, he's gonna get it done. The thing about
being young as well is you don't know what you
don't know until you know. And I feel like they
are young and naive and ignorant. I feel like the
stuff that they said after the game wenb be talking about,
like yeah, I just gotta play normal.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
We gotta be better. I'm gonna be better. You can
be better and still lose.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
Wenby was not good in that first game, clanking the
ball off the side.

Speaker 4 (09:22):
Of the Wait a minute, brot him score thirty points
on thirty one shots. I'm not gonna let you give
a pass like no I I but but I got
they got the win covers everything. I get hit the
I get that, But he also took twelve for thirty one.
Ain't no Picasso. It ain't no Picasso. And now what

(09:42):
Landry Shaman's taking off. All I want you to say
is that they're gonna be Knights. When you put up
thirty one shots, you might get thirty. You ain't gonna
win every night. And when you shoot, you're gonna you're
not gonna bank everything. I guarantee you Keith in this game,
one of those big guys Cat, somebody will have two
fouls in the first quarter. I guarantee you that I've

(10:03):
covered the NBA since nineteen eighty seven.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
I know how this thing works. I will be looking
out for that. You can be looking out for how
it officiated.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
You can rough.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
House a guy like a Winby in the beginning. They're
not going to allow that to happen the entire series.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
They're not. They're not.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
And I'm just I'm not saying he's gonna rely on
free throws. He will get some space to be able
to operate. And all I'm saying is it's easy to
look at the Knicks and think they're gonna win every
game because they haven't lost.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
I get it in forty days, whatever you want to
do it.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
I watched the first three two and a half quarters
of that game, and the Spurs, to me, they weren't afraid.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
They didn't get run out of the gym.

Speaker 4 (10:43):
They were up by fourteen winby comes out the Knicks
going eleven zero run and they wind up.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
Losing that game. Not shooting like that again, Julian Champagne.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
That was from around the way. I know he's not
shooting like that. They better leave Dylan Harper in the game.
He's from Jersey, up there, not far from where I live.
These young boys are not ready for the seniority of
the Knicks. They smell blood in the water. They know
if they win the game after one game, it ain't
no no, y'all the way they closed them out in
that first game.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
Can I give you a Can I give you a? Phoenix?

Speaker 4 (11:15):
Suns up two oh in the NBA Finals, everybody crown.
Everybody wanted to crown.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Chris Paul. Do you remember the Sun Series?

Speaker 4 (11:23):
You remember that they were up to do Remember they
were up to oh what did everybody say?

Speaker 2 (11:29):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (11:30):
That was the year that that Giannis and the Bucks
beat the Brooklyn Nets, right, But.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
I'm asking you in the finals when they were down two,
don't all I'm saying isn't I was gonna say is
they also went down to the nets.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
I was at those games. They also went down to
the nets, so I knew, Yo, they're not out of it.
I'm not saying that the series is over.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
I'm not saying that you got that. You're bringing Nick
tonight over? So why I'm not saying that.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
What I'm saying is saying two years old.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
He hasn't proven anything to me. I don't care about
his Nike deal.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
That don't remember how much they want to push him
into the forty is the greatest player.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
He didn't look like the greatest player in the world
to laughing at him, but he's laughing at him.

Speaker 4 (12:14):
He's this year.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
Give me he's a boy. You gotta get some he
needs some milk. He gotta grow up, he gotta grow
into He's gotta he's not ready. First trip to everybody
knows and the Seam was in the finals his first
year in the proseason. Are you kidding me?

Speaker 7 (12:32):
What are you with?

Speaker 2 (12:33):
Sugar?

Speaker 6 (12:34):
Are you?

Speaker 2 (12:34):
Oka was banged up? Y'all didn't get me during that
Western Conference finals.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
Okayse was banged up, so you need to get for
legendary performances out of Wemby in the finals for the
Spurs to win. That's not gonna happen. It's not gonna happen.
He's not like that yet. And I can't wave TV.

Speaker 2 (12:51):
I'm gonna turn it on. I'm gonna turn it on
eight seven seven, six sixty three sixty nine. Everyone knows
it's whim. That's right. Who are you taking tonight? In
Game two?

Speaker 4 (13:05):
The Spurs and the Knicks and Keith McPherson from New
York already saying the series is over County Spurs out.
That's where he is New York bias. I'm not buying it.
I'm in Los Angeles. I'm gonna give you an unfiltered,
real journalistic take on this series.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
I've been covering the league before Keith was even born.

Speaker 4 (13:28):
Facts eight seventh, ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 7 (13:33):
And you know what you need to do, stick and
stay unless by some reason you're buying into the Brunson
in the US AVA.

Speaker 4 (13:43):
There you go, hey, pro basketball fans or in full swing,
and guess what you can trade the entire you get
the series of on Calshi.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
That's right, Calshi.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
You can trade each game, props, combos, and more until
the confetti falls.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
No doubt you, guys.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
I've been riding the big Fella in San Antonio all
season long.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
I wrote a song about him a few months ago.

Speaker 4 (14:08):
We just released a music video this week and that's
doing big numbers right now on social, So I'm doing
it again. San Antonio is currently trading forty seven percent
to win these finals, which means a one hundred dollars
trade pays out two hundred and thirteen if they can
come back and win this series and win it all.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (14:32):
I think that's a smart play. I'm all about it.
That's the one I'll be making. On Calshi. You're trading
against peers in a live market meeting. There's no house,
and as the probability changes, right, you can buy in

Speaker 4 (16:03):
It's a funky flashback Friday here on the Couple. Rob Parker,
Keith McPherson in for Kelvin Washington, telephone number eight seven
seven ninety nine. On Fox talking about Game two, Nicks
and the Spurs. And remember, at the University of Maryland

(16:25):
Global Campus, you can choose for more than sixty five
graduate online degrees and certificates, including it's MBA with now
ten specializations, no application fee.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
What's today? Yeah, but you got to visit UMGC dot edu.

Speaker 4 (16:48):
All right, Keith, here we are. We're talking about game two.
Keith is like he expects to Nix to win. He's
basically counted out the Spurs after one game.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
I'm not there. I got win. Bouncing back, Where are you?
What do you think about tonight's game? Game two?

Speaker 4 (17:03):
In San Antonio eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox,
and we do want to hear from you.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
How about Louie in Texas? You're on the couple of
Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Louis?

Speaker 4 (17:14):
What's going on? Guys?

Speaker 2 (17:16):
How are you? I'm doing good? Ahead? What you got, buddy?

Speaker 4 (17:23):
So I'm gonna I'm gonna tell you that I live
here in Texas and Wemby is gonna live in the paint.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
For the rest of the series. He gonna bust down
a big old box of elbow MCCARONI. Hey, all right,
all right, I got you Wemby is going to play better.

Speaker 4 (17:44):
If the Knicks are counting on him to be six
for twenty one every game and think they're going to
that's going to be the way the series runs. I
just don't see it. I really don't. I don't think
they've watched this guy out. I'm talking about people who
are counting him out. They were down. People told me
that they couldn't win game six or seven against Okase.
That's what they did one game six and one game

(18:06):
seven on the road against the defending champs. Do not
count his team out one game. Keith does not make
a series eight seven, seven ninety nine.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
On Fox?

Speaker 4 (18:16):
What about Chris in Sacramento. You're on the couple of
Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Chris.

Speaker 5 (18:23):
Man?

Speaker 9 (18:23):
My boy, she is tripped in in New York tripping.
He's all in, not smoked, got New York smoked, didn't
game one.

Speaker 8 (18:36):
Ah, it's over, It's.

Speaker 4 (18:37):
Over, New York is ah New York Death.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
Wendy is about to show out. You just got down
playing a seven game.

Speaker 5 (18:45):
Yes, why New York has been chilling.

Speaker 4 (18:48):
He just got dumb playing a seven game series.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
It's a game. She can lose one take a press.

Speaker 4 (18:55):
Right, and you know what, Chris, they weren't on a sweep.
The Spurs were gonna sweep, so they were gonna lose
a game. I always say this, Keith, you never like
how you lose. You could lose by one, or you
could lose by thirty. You never like how you lose.
And you're gonna lose some games. You just have to
be able to bounce back. That's how you win a championship.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
Don't lose too many in the finals, that's it. What
do you mean they can't lose one?

Speaker 3 (19:21):
You're saying that the Knicks don't lose too many in
the finals, because before you look cause.

Speaker 4 (19:26):
Let me ask you this, if the Knicks had lost
game one, would you say the series was over because
they had won eleven in a row.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
Coming in, of course, I was telling people.

Speaker 3 (19:32):
I was telling people they were gonna lose when Brunson
went out, and then even when he came out, I
was just like, yo, they haven't lost in so long.
Their bounds to lose. Then when they won that game,
I'm like, come on, they little boy, them their two senior.
That experience is gonna play. Even with Mitch Johnson, right,
he's a little Boy as well experience plays with Mike Brown,
What can Brown do for you? They have too many answers.

(19:52):
We are about to see in a couple of hours.
Brown's been around for it, no one, He's been fired
five times. Stop that all of a sudden, that man
his res spen his respect. If they lose the next four,
you will not be saying what can Brown do for you?

Speaker 2 (20:05):
Would you?

Speaker 9 (20:05):
No?

Speaker 2 (20:06):
I'm asking you. No shot. No, there's no shots. You
forget about no shot. I'm telling you.

Speaker 4 (20:10):
When everybody was saying Devin Booker is the next Kobe
Bryant when they were up too, Oh, who was saying that?

Speaker 2 (20:16):
Split?

Speaker 3 (20:16):
Plenty of people in the NBA world out there in
l that New York NBA next Kobe? Yes, after they
were Kobe, we will love you like that book is
not no Kobe anything. Hey, Don and the up you're
on the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Don?

Speaker 5 (20:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (20:33):
What's up?

Speaker 4 (20:34):
Bro?

Speaker 6 (20:34):
Hey?

Speaker 7 (20:34):
Welcome before Keith love having me on that.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
Thank you so listen.

Speaker 9 (20:38):
Wemby Game one, he played like Philip Seymour Hoffman and
along came Paul.

Speaker 8 (20:43):
It was it was bad, It was.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
It was a bad day at the office. No doubt
about it.

Speaker 7 (20:48):
And they just got done playing seven games right. They
were at home, he played terrible. They're home again.

Speaker 4 (20:53):
It ain't home.

Speaker 5 (20:53):
It's home alone, man.

Speaker 4 (20:54):
And just like home alone, there's home alone.

Speaker 9 (20:56):
Two lost in New York, and we gonna be playing
like it's like they say in the show.

Speaker 7 (21:01):
His performance with the French call le, all right.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
He's about to be He's about to be fried like
French fries is also going to be Home invasion. Because
those Knicks fans did the calculations. They said, okay, flight,
hotel ticket cheaper than Madison Square Garden by thousands. We
out we out there in Texas. I'm telling you about
to see it again. It's been so long in New York.
I mean, people are what they're given. What they're paying

(21:28):
for Pride tickets and stuff is just outrageous. I've been
saving up. They've been saving up the last four years.

Speaker 4 (21:33):
Last four years, last forty years, fifty years that have
seem been good, the last ever, save it up since
the seventy seventy three. All right, uh, coming up, we're
gonna talk. I got a plan to keep the Yankees
above water. While Aaron Judge is out, I'm gonna share
that with you and Keith. That's coming up next. For first,

(21:56):
let's get you caught up, mister Steve. The Seger's at
the anchor desk yet, Steve.

Speaker 9 (22:00):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
All right, Steve, thank you, It is The Odd Couple.

Speaker 4 (22:14):
Rob Parker Keith McPherson on a funky flashback Friday, Game
two of the NBA Finals fastly approaching and guess what.
For over forty years, tire Rack has been helping customers
find the right tires for how, what and where they drive,
ship fast and free back by free road hazard protection
with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation when they

(22:39):
come to you tire rack dot Com the way tire
buying should be.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
All right, Keith, we got the news. You're in New York.
I know people bummed out.

Speaker 4 (22:47):
Aaron Judge on the IL four to six weeks, probably
closer to six weeks right with the fracture in his rib.
Just what's the buzz there? Just about Judge being out
and and a lot of people have high expectations.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
For the Yankee.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
At least, you know, these Yankee fans have the knicks
cause with Judge, we know now he's not gonna win MVP.
We know now he's not gonna be in the All
Star Game. We know now we're gonna go into this
June swoon, which a lot of fans call the Boone
June Swoon because through Aaron Boone's tenure, the team dips
off in June. Didn't we just say a couple weeks ago,
look at the Yankees. Wow, the Yankees are back. And

(23:26):
then it's the same old same. So we have experience
with Judge going down this year, we have better reinforcements
than we've had in the past. But it's not fun.
This is the best hitter in the game. It's the
captain of the teams. Is the face of baseball. And
the thing about the Yankees that grinds my gears. They
always try to hide it. They'll do little things like
d him and then give them a day off. And

(23:47):
I was at the stadium Tuesday, and I got there
early for an event, and then I get the alert
that he's not in the lineup. And I'm like, I
just know, I know what's happening. Yeah, I'm like, I
cover it up.

Speaker 4 (23:58):
Well, he played every game, so when he's out of
the lineup, you always go, oh, what's going on here,
something's happening. Now here's my solution. And I've been saying
this for a while. I think the Yankees need to
make a big move. And I know you like the
the reserves and the team they put together and all that,
but I'm sorry, you gotta go get somebody else, a

(24:19):
big time player, a player who has that potential who
could fit in and play. There's a lot of you know,
reserve players who are okay. But the guy I would
go get is Fernando Tattis Junior. And I know people
are gonna be like, oh, that contract. He's twenty seven
years old. And here's the thing. I think he needs

(24:41):
a change of scenery from San Diego and you might
be able to get him because he's he's only got
one home run, you know what I mean, And he's
on a down, having a kind of a Down's batt
in two seventy but he's only got one home run.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
Finally, get a home run a season and maybe.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
The Padres, pay some of the money, you know what,
I mean, to move on from him, change the scenery
and insert him in the lineup, because I'm not so
sure they have enough. Stanton is hurt. You go go
get a younger guy to to uh, to add to
that lineup and maybe to change of scenery to the
Bronx could be something heaped an electric kind of player

(25:20):
instead of sitting pat and hoping as you talk about
you survived the June swoon, and make a bowl move
instead of just kind of no name reserved players who
are all batting under two hundred. There's a ton of
them on that lineup who won't hitting anything.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
I don't know. You like the lineup seven eighty nine, No,
of course not. You don't like changes the catchers.

Speaker 3 (25:44):
The catchers don't hit in the bottom of the order,
Ryan McMahon or Vaulpi or Jose Cabaliro.

Speaker 9 (25:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (25:52):
And I'll say this, Rob Ferdanotatis has been rumored for years.
I remember fans joking about him coming here before he
signed that contract, saying they're not gonna retire twenty three.
Unlike the New York Football Giants that unretired numbers, the
Yankees would never unretire Don Mattings number.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
But this is a guy that would come here, play
right field and be electric, and yes, turn it on.
One home run for this guy.

Speaker 3 (26:11):
The way he swings, the way that he can adjust
his swing, the way that he hits the ball out
of the park, it'd be great. But I'm telling you this,
the Yankees won't do it because they won't give up
what it would take to get him.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
There's zero chance they're not giving up their top prospects.
They're not giving it up.

Speaker 4 (26:24):
If you're trying to win a World Series you haven't
won since two thousand and nine.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
Enough with the prospects two years ago. I don't care
about the prospects.

Speaker 4 (26:33):
They got a pitching staff, right, you got a starting
rotation that's World Series worthy. You need hitting, You go out,
go get a guy. The only reason he's available is
he's down trodden right now. Doesn't mean that you add
him that he can't swooze. He's twenty seven years, always
got a long way to go. I would love if
you're the Yankees, you go and get him, and he

(26:55):
has five good years or whatever it is, and you
win a World Series or two.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
What's worth it?

Speaker 4 (27:00):
You can't keep saying, Oh, I don't want to give
up anybody. Oh, these guys down in the minor league,
that's all good, And well, where do you play him
when Judge comes back? Because Judge isn't done for the season.
He will be looked at in four to six weeks.
We expect him back in August. Where do you play
Fernando Tatis. He's started on the infield, he started at
third base, He's played second base.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
Can he play third he played?

Speaker 4 (27:21):
I'm not he's not going back to short He's not
going back to the short stuff. But I'm just probably
can't play left field and Yankee State. Can't he play
third base? He could play third base?

Speaker 3 (27:30):
You wouldn't want that that They tried to throw Jazz
in the third base two years ago and that didn't
work out.

Speaker 4 (27:36):
Okay, Jazz is better leave Jazz. That's saying bas they
believe can't who they heard. I'm asking you, Ryman, he
couldn't play third but they won't do it. No, Ryan
McMahon's not the answer.

Speaker 3 (27:45):
I was reading about them potentially going to get East
Soak Parades in a trade. But I'll say this, they
believe in the young guys. They have Spencer Jones is
back up with the team tonight. Well, he hasn't hit
a home run yet. He's been terrible, but this is
a second cup of coffee. We hope that now second
time around, the lights aren't too bright. Jason de Minguez
just commenced his rehab stint. He'll be back. They hope
that the Martian can be out of this world. They

(28:07):
also do believe in guys.

Speaker 4 (28:09):
Last year, Jason were you, I mean, he had a
disappointing year to me, I mean, I know we've heard it.

Speaker 3 (28:15):
Because he didn't get enough reps, he couldn't play, because
Trent Grisham was in the way. Nobody expected last year
him to be what he is. They got the qualifying
offer out to him, he took it. They expect him
to show up. And you know who's got to show
up through this stretch. Jazz Chisholm, who said he was
gonna have an Otani year fifty to fifty.

Speaker 2 (28:31):
Jazz Chisholm, who said he was gonna get it. He's
hitting better, but I need him to be a lot better.

Speaker 3 (28:36):
If Hey, you're going into free agency, bro, this is
the time, and Ben Rice already Homer tonight. They believe
in that young guy. He's been a star. He's going
to be in the All Star Game. Last time I checked,
it was still one nothing and yes it still is.
And and Bellinger. They paid Bellinger more money than Judge
this year to be here. Belly was just player of
the Month last year. He's got to continue in the
last but not least. John Carlos Danton paging John Carlos Danton.

(28:59):
It's time to come out and play again. Hello, Stanton,
where are you?

Speaker 2 (29:02):
We need you? No doubt.

Speaker 4 (29:04):
I think that's somebody who's if you can get him back.
And he was hitting before he got hurt.

Speaker 2 (29:09):
He you know what I mean. He wasn't hitting home runs,
but he's actually hitting anybody average.

Speaker 4 (29:13):
Yes, that's what I'm He was definitely doing that like
driving in runs or whatever, which I thought was great
because you know, the home run ball is gonna come
for him, and you know what kind of postseasons he has,
which is always big as well. So I'm just saying,
like to just stand pat when there's there's somebody out
there that you could get and put the third And
if you really feel good about McMahon, as you know,

(29:36):
late innings no, I'm talking about to play defensively, to
come in in the eighth or ninth inning defensively. I'd
be all right with that. As long as Tattoos can
get three at bats, you know what I mean, or
three or four bats, then I don't have a problem
with it.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
That's all.

Speaker 4 (29:50):
I just think the Yankees have a team in the
American League that could win. I do because of the
American League is nothing this year. Why don't should they
should win the division? The Rays showed you that they're
not as great as we thought.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
Another season at the Rays have gotten out of the
gate fast and that's kind of worn off. But let's
come back to Brian Cashman. When has Brian Cashman made
a move because of an injury. He's not gonna have
a knee jerk reaction to this. He's gonna let these
guys play. He feels like he built out the team.
And they even have guys like a med Rosario and
Cay Bairo that can play in the outfield, back out there, but.

Speaker 4 (30:24):
They're not they're not Fernando Tattist Junior. I'm sorry, I
would love to have it, but what juice would that beat?
In New York I'm just asking you the fans.

Speaker 3 (30:32):
I got the locks, I got the long hair coming
out of the back of the hat. I mean, I
would love to see Fernando Tatis bring his swag to
New York. Domnic Conno, Dominicano, Dominicanda, like the BX, the
Dominican vibes and the BX.

Speaker 2 (30:44):
He'd be great here.

Speaker 3 (30:45):
But there's no way Cashman gives up his top prospects
in June or July to make that happen when he
knows Judges coming back and he has some reinforcements coming
back as well.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
All right, I'm just throwing it out there.

Speaker 4 (30:59):
I just think that because I just think Tattos need
somebody to go get him, needs a change the scenery.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
Don't you think it? Yeah, I really do. I just think, yeah,
it's over there.

Speaker 4 (31:07):
Yeah, it's over I just I couldn't believe he didn't
have a home run until last week or whatever. I mean,
it's amazing, all right. Uh, things have gone from bad
to worse in the NFL. And guess what we'll get
into that next. It is the Odd Couple Rob Parker
Keith McPherson, where we deliver insight, not noise.

Speaker 2 (31:28):
Right here, on Fox Sports Radio, and you know.

Speaker 7 (31:30):
What you need to do, Stick and stay because everybody
knows it's time for Wenby.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
In the US of area, everyone knows it's Twimy.

Speaker 9 (31:44):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (31:56):
It is the Odd Couple on a funky flashback for alrightay,
Rob Parker, Keith McPherson in for Kelvin Washington, and Alex
is digging deep in the crates there on this Friday.
Of course, Game two of the NBA Finals will be
coming up at about eight thirty Eastern time.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
But now it's time for the tire Rack player today
and the.

Speaker 5 (32:22):
Pitch swinging a looper shallow Ren center field. That's a basin.
Cubs win the ball game. Pete bro Armstrong delivers what
a finish. The Cubs have stored four runs with a
great ninth inning rally.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
This is one for the memory banks, all right. That
was Cubs Radio to play Today, brought to you by
tire Rack.

Speaker 4 (32:47):
For over forty years, tire Rack has been helping customers
find the white tires for how, what and where they
drive ship fast and free back by free Road has
a protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installations,
tire rack dot Com. The way tire buying should be, Keith.
Now it's time for a little Shekel City.

Speaker 9 (33:09):
Welcome to Shekel City, the whole base for Rob Parkers,
Dally Dix against the spread.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
I last night I was two and one.

Speaker 4 (33:24):
That brings my season total to one fifty five and
one twenty seven.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
Not bad.

Speaker 7 (33:31):
Right.

Speaker 4 (33:31):
There we go, and we're going tonight with the Dodgers
and Angels another US Freeway series. I got to Dodgers
as the best bet minus one and a half runs
against the Angels. I'm gonna take the Washington Nationals on
the road against Arizona. I'm gonna take Washington plus one
and a half runs. And the Mets are in San

(33:55):
Diego to take on the Padres. I'm gonna take the
Padres minus one and a half run.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
So again, here we go.

Speaker 4 (34:01):
Best bet Dodgers minus one and a half, Nationals plus
one and a half and the Padres minus one and
a half.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
And remember this, Keith, I'm not telling you who to
bet on. I'm telling you who I bet? Did I
knew that?

Speaker 5 (34:18):
There?

Speaker 4 (34:18):
You go, all right, Keith, you got a problem with
the NFL. A bad offseason continues. Yeah, it's just it's disappointing.
Is disappointing.

Speaker 3 (34:27):
You go from the scandal with Stefan Diggs and he
goes to trial and he actually comes out of there
not guilty, and you say, okay, okay, cool, right, they
already threw the dirt on him though they already buried
him though he's out of New England, and a lot
of people didn't keep up with that. But then you
get into this offseason and I just feel like these
guys have so much time away from football, they're bound

(34:47):
to get in trouble with social media, with the money
they have, with the amount of girls that they have
around them, the fast cars that they drive.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
You know, we hear about Nolan Smith going one.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
Thirty seven, one hundred and thirty seven miles an hour
in a seventy mile an hour zone.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
You know, we wait when he did.

Speaker 4 (35:04):
A thousand players in the NFL, only a handful get
in trouble. I think that's like base It's kind of
like the general population, don't you think.

Speaker 2 (35:12):
You just know what handful.

Speaker 3 (35:14):
Yeah, no, I think we don't know half of them.
That really what I'm talking about caught up. Oh, but
we don't know about most people in their daily lives
and what they're doing. Josh Jacobs now with domestic violence
and Jonathan Cooper with domestic violence. Again innocent until proven guilty.
But it just comes up as a stain on the
NFL where people say, especially right now, Robin I wasn't

(35:36):
on during this time. And I don't want to get
deep into it, but you know how many people started
wagging their finger after everyone got upset about Jackson Dart
and Abdul Carter and then they said, well, look at
Josh Jacobs, now look at Jonathan Cooper, and I'm like,
the two things are not the same.

Speaker 4 (35:49):
That's what connected, right, That's what people do when they're
looking their reaching. They can't talk about the subject at hand,
so they dig, and they want to dig up anything
bad about anybody to you use that as a.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
As the reason why I agree with you, which is ridiculous.

Speaker 4 (36:05):
But this is the NFL. This is the NFL. Uh,
these things continue to happen. I don't know how you
you change it. I really I don't know, like people
are going to even people making a lot of money,
even people have celebrity. There's a guy driving a bus
in New York right now who's stringing along eight women

(36:26):
and got nine kids.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
You know what, I'm serious, Keith, I'm dead serious. So out.
So it ain't just NFL players who are doing stuff,
and I.

Speaker 4 (36:35):
Get it the high profile, they represent the organization and
there's all kinds of other stuff that goes in the
Diana Mussini thing.

Speaker 2 (36:43):
Do you throw that in the mix? Is that another
not a.

Speaker 3 (36:47):
Good look, right? Not a good lefinitely, not nothing. No
charges filed, but not a good look, right man?

Speaker 4 (36:52):
The NFL, uh, you know, for a long time, what
was it, what was the nickname rob G the national
fell in the league right for felony because there were
so many people with felonies, not mistermeanors like, it was
pretty amazing. I don't know, it's it's a little depressing
because you would think that people you know, with that

(37:13):
kind of with so much to lose and all that,
would have, you know, their lives a little bit better
buttoned up?

Speaker 2 (37:19):
Is that what you're saying?

Speaker 3 (37:20):
Yeah, Rashi Rice is another one. Rashi Rice might have
to face jail time. He violated his probation.

Speaker 4 (37:25):
I don't know how's he I don't know how he's
not getting jail time this time. I mean right, I
think he has to report. Right, there's no way to
get out of that thirty days. So it's just not
a good look for the league and these young brothers
in the league.

Speaker 3 (37:37):
And I hate to see the conversation on the internet
that comes out around them because it's, like like you said,
it's stuff that goes on in everyday life in general population.
But it gives people another thing to say, look at
these guys, look at these football players.

Speaker 2 (37:51):
Yeah, it is. The NFL's always had that.

Speaker 4 (37:54):
And whenever get young people, you know, with a lot
of money and a lot of time and whatnot, Randon,
I you, there's all kinds of stuff.

Speaker 2 (38:02):
You gotta you keep running them off.

Speaker 4 (38:04):
I get because but there, But but there are a
lot of guys too, And I'm gonna stick stick up
for those guys because there's over a thousand football players.
A lot of people you don't hear from. You know,
you don't know anything about them. They have a family,
you know what I mean, They play football, They're not
in trouble. So you gotta be careful about a broad
brush that all NFL players are caught up in this
kind of stuff, and social media is a handful, there's

(38:27):
no doubt about it.

Speaker 2 (38:28):
Not all.

Speaker 3 (38:29):
But but they're not a good look in the offseason
that all these brothers keep popping up with these things and.

Speaker 2 (38:35):
I don't know, they can't.

Speaker 3 (38:35):
You can't babysit them all, like Dez Brian had a
babysitter for a while.

Speaker 2 (38:38):
You can't.

Speaker 3 (38:39):
You can't put somebody there to watch all these guys.
It's gonna happen, but it's not great. It's not a
good look.

Speaker 4 (38:45):
What is uh?

Speaker 2 (38:47):
Has the Jackson Dart I do Carter thing died down
in New York or where?

Speaker 6 (38:52):
No?

Speaker 3 (38:52):
I mean, it's it's certainly quiet now because the Nicks
in the finals and the Knicks and even with signing
Odell and Juju in Braxton Barrios. But people are using
it as a joke, right, they said, like, oh Odell
actually signed with the Giants. That's just even though even
though the quarterbacks supported Donald Trump.

Speaker 2 (39:13):
Yeah, that was that to me.

Speaker 4 (39:16):
And I heard people say it like a smoke screen,
you know, like that was another one of those to
give let's have something to talk about.

Speaker 2 (39:22):
When they signed those three guys.

Speaker 4 (39:23):
And O'Dell is another guy who I don't know what
he still has, you know what I mean, if there's
anything left money.

Speaker 3 (39:30):
You know, he took he took everybody out to nice
prime rib dinner at a prime whatever it is.

Speaker 2 (39:36):
I wouldn't know here in New York.

Speaker 3 (39:37):
I've never been in there, but he took all the
receivers all right to dinner, flexing our number twenty odd couples.

Speaker 2 (39:43):
