Here you go, Okay, on the planet. There you go,
at least when people are still awake. Sorry about that
perfect couch. I've been saying it for for the last
nine years. All right, write it down, committed to memory,
eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. For you layman
out there can't figure out the letters and numbers, it's
(02:22):
eight seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.
And if you hear feedback on the line when you
do calling, it's your own fault. It means only one thing.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
You forgot to turn down the radio.
Speaker 1 (02:35):

That boy out there in them streets. It's up to you. Now,
you're taking advantage of all those twenty five cents sodas
out there at the stay, at the station you're at.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
You know, Hey, you already know look at that, hey,
twenty five cents, Alex rob G We've already Alex, I've
said this to you. Kelvin Knowles, why are we paying
a dollar twenty five in Los Angeles at the I
Heart at the iHeart soda machine and in New York
(03:40):
twenty five cents? Discuss the dollar ninety nine at discuss
in the corner, Rodney five cents.
Speaker 6 (03:47):
Take it easy when you go through security trying to
bring a whole two hundred and sixty five I got, yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
Got two cases, two cases.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
But you make it easy.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
It's not worth it because you know when you check
in your bag, they're gonna charge.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
Me ninety dollars for the bag. Good point, trying to
lose the pain of it. What do you mean this
is a comfort the bag? Exactly?
Speaker 4 (04:07):
He got rid of that one.
Speaker 6 (04:08):
No but happy funky flashback Friday man, we got a bust.
Speaker 4 (04:11):
To get you feeling good. Is it warm out there?
What's the weather like?
Speaker 2 (04:15):
In New York. Warm out here.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
It is a roaster, Alex, I need barbecue sauce on
my back.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
It's that hot.
Speaker 6 (04:22):
Now, let me ask you this Rob before we get
to the show. I know you're you obviously got the Spurs,
and you know you don't necessarily hate the Knicks per se.
Speaker 4 (04:31):
That's me maybe speaking for you. You might hate them, but
I don't.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
I don't hate just Cotton.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
I know. That's why I said.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
That's why. Oh you hate the Pistons.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Oh you hate the Lions. Oh you hate the Knicks.
Oh you hate the Lakers because I don't pick them.
Speaker 4 (04:44):
No, the only teams you hate you hate o' tani.
Speaker 5 (04:47):
No, I don't, okay you Hey, that man had told me,
I mean, he has to win a side Young for me.
Speaker 6 (04:55):
Now you know when he wins the sid Young this year,
you're gonna be like, he's got to win three side youngs.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
You already know you're gonna push that go bus.
Speaker 6 (05:02):
But no, I was asking you, what is it like
the buzz with the New York For those of us
who are in New York, the Knicks's energy, they're excit.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Just yeah, just everybody everybody has on Knick stuff a
hat you walk on down the street. You know, New
York is a big place, and I've told you this
a million times, and it's just true.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
The Knicks are the only team in this city.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
This is a city that's very diverse, some nine pro teams, right,
there's a lot of different allegiances, but there's only one
allegiance in basketball, and it's the Knicks. So it does
have a different feel for me. And just seeing I
was on the escalator at a TJ Max real quick
and there's just a middle aged woman on the phone
(05:43):
with somebody and she's breaking down the game like a
nick I'm talking about like a fifty year old woman.
So I don't know who she's talking to, but she's
talking basketball about the Knicks. Hey, after we come back
from twenty nine points, come on, we're gonna go to
San Antonia.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
Get this done. I'm like, I wanted to check out.
I was like, no way, no, how happen?

Speaker 6 (06:44):
Was that he ain't break another arm? You remember he
slid down in Milwaukee.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
That was bad. That was so bad, so bad. David
Vassy like, what are you doing? You know?
Speaker 4 (06:56):
He tried his best to keep it real. All right,
gut's get to it.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
Let's welcome into the Couple crew, because you wouldn't be
able to do this fine radio program without him.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Okay, Alex, of course is our engineer.
Speaker 4 (07:07):
Behind the curt.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
One more time, Alex.
Speaker 4 (07:12):
Behind the curt.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
I know we got Rob g is our producer. But
in studio Brandon again, Yes, I'm here, there's me.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
Is that Brandon the Rooster? Yes?
Speaker 1 (07:27):
I think they call you something else branded, but I
can't sit on the radio.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
I'm just saying, Rob, don't get fired. Okay, I'm sorry
you get fired.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
Get in New York.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
I know, I know, I know, Like, don't come back
to l a Couple.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
We'll send your stuff, right, I think I heard Manzi Blango. Yeah, correct, Yes,
Manzi's at the anchored that she'll keep us updated throughout
the program. And Saga says on the social media detail
tonight and he's in for Elijah and so full of fact.
There you go, all right, there you go, and Kelvin,
(08:06):
we should say this that the World Cup is well
underway and even they're ready to play in Los Angeles, right, oh.
Speaker 4 (08:15):
Yeah, it's going down.
Speaker 6 (08:15):
We had obviously, Mexico won their game last night, their match,
and everybody's excited about that. Obviously us living in southern California,
large Mexican, Mexican American population, so folks are excited.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
And you start to do anything wrong with that.
Speaker 4 (08:29):
No, no, no, we love it.
Speaker 6 (08:33):
But so now obviously everybody's excited about the United States
men's national team.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
Their first matter kicking it off.
Speaker 6 (08:40):
That's gonna be today of course, going against Paraguay, and
so this begins. It begins to me, rob which what
they've been trying to do, and you know this, You've
been in sports for years, really get America on the
mainstream when it comes to soccer or football, to get
people into it, to really have a team that can compete,
not just throw somebody out there, throw a team out there,
(09:02):
and they get Miley watch. So this is supposed to
be the team ROB that has a chance to really
do that.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
So it is led by Christian Pulisic. He is one
of the better players.
Speaker 6 (09:11):
Of course, he plays for ac Milan Series A, and
he's supposed to be the young superstar to feed for
them to really get this team going. You also had
the coach Marciano Pachi Pratchettino, who jacked this roster. Thank
you appreciate that, who picked this roster. Some people a
little skeptical of him, but the point is a larger point, Rob.
This team has been together for about eight years now,
(09:34):
since most of them were teenagers. You've got a group
of guys that they put an emphasis on saying, all right,
you are gonna be the future. You guys are gonna
be the team that gets Americans in the soccer, that
gets Americas excited because we know the World Cup is coming.
So we're gonna put a lot into you, give you
the resources, and a lot's gonna be riding on this.
Because again, matches are here all across North America, but
(09:55):
specifically in Los Angeles.
Speaker 4 (09:57):
You got a lot of people are watching.
Speaker 6 (09:59):
This team's been again for a long time, and people
are gonna hope that they can finally get past the quarterfinals,
which they've the last two times we've been in it.
That's as far as we've gotten. We didn't make it
a few years back.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
You know.
Speaker 6 (10:11):
So, so the question is, can this be the team
to ignite something where my daughters, rob Gi has daughters,
you know, who are younger little boys. People can get
excited about it and start to formulate where American kids
are playing soccer all the way through, because that's fine.
Its to be weird, rob everybody kind of played soccer
here in America is like you the first sport you
(10:33):
throw a kid into, but it.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
Doesn't stick, you know what I mean? Like oh, little Tammy, little.
Speaker 6 (10:38):
Bobby, little Derek is playing little All they're doing is
running around and the parents just to have them run
around so that they can fall asleep at night.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
Don't respect, don't.
Speaker 4 (10:48):
Don't disrespect our parenting like that.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Okay, we everybody get into soccer. Just run around for
two hours, so.
Speaker 4 (10:55):
You're gonna bet at night. But that's what's gonna be interesting.
Speaker 6 (10:58):
This team is is really gonna be the one people
are saying, can this start some type of boom? I
don't ever think it'll be as it is in other countries,
because for them its life or death. We know that
we've seen how serious they take their soccer. We don't
take it that seriously here. But can it be the
one that gets it going, that maybe goes further than
expected pastor quarterfinals for once it actually starts some type
(11:19):
of where kids like, oh, I actually want to ride
through with soccer, not just enjoy it when I was five, six,
eight years old. And that's what's on the line tonight,
rob not just tonight, but obviously through this whole entire
World Cup, and it'll be interesting to see. I don't
fully expect them to go past the quarterfinals. It's gonna
get too difficult. You're gonna play teams that have the
best players in the world, that have been doing this
year in year out.
Speaker 4 (11:40):
So I don't expect it.
Speaker 6 (11:41):
But this is why you hope and you watch Olympics,
you watch World Cups because you hope for miracles, You
hope for things you unexpected. Shoot, you watch that going
NBA finals to see things you never thought you'd see.
So these stadds are stacked against them past the quarterfinal,
passed around the sixteen.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
But this is the best team, the best chance we've
had in a long time.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
Yeah, I just I think you have some lofty goals
that are just don't seem obtainable to me.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
And I don't care how long they've been together.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
These other countries with the World Cup or whatever, they're
not the favorite, you know what I mean, Like it
would be a miracle on ice.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
Yes, sorry, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
It would be of that if the United States were
able to win a World Cup here in the United States.
Speaker 6 (12:25):
Just let me Hollywood would there would be twenty six
movies in nine months.
Speaker 4 (12:30):
That's how fast they get those movies out.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
No, right, I just I don't, I don't know. It
just seems an awful task. The women you got. You
just mentioned you have daughters and getting them interested in
Rob g has a couple of daughters, right, And the
women have won the World Cup and it didn't move
the needle as popular as they are. And I'm just
I'm not saying, Kelvin that they're not popular, right, because
(12:55):
they are, right, they are.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
The women's soccer in the United States is boom me.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
They won, and yet it didn't move the needle like
you would have thought every little girl should be running
around kicking a soccer ball, right right, right, I don't
think we're there.
Speaker 4 (13:12):
I do think I just think it's a go ahead.
Speaker 6 (13:15):
I was just gonna say I think that I think
women are a little bit more advancing than men, Like
I think they're more into it, we're more we're more
successful as a whole when it comes to soccer. It's
kind of like gymnastics, right the women team is always competitive,
always good versus our men's gymnastics team.
Speaker 7 (13:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
I get that, but I just.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
I'm you know, so you're saying if they win a championship,
this is going to turn the country, like like, well,
oh no, no, if.
Speaker 6 (13:45):
They won the world the entire World Cup, absolutely right,
because they're there.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
If they could win the World Cup, and I still
don't think it's going to turn the country.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
I just don't.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
I think people will sit up and take notice, take
great pride in the American team winning, you know what
I mean, and saying how awesome it was. But do
I really believe this country is fractured and that's why
even with team no, just people care more about New
(14:15):
York and Detroit than they do the United States. They do,
and they care about their teams and what's closer to them,
not that they wouldn't enjoy.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
Don't give me. I'm not saying that we're different.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
A lot of these countries are small compared to Howard. Yeah,
and they don't have a professional league, right or leagues
of that we have. So their allegiance is with their
country that do you know what I'm saying, more so
than their league, local league that they have.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
It's not of this magnitude.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
I think that's the difference in what makes it so
hard for people to fully embrace soccer. Kelvin, I'm sixty two.
When I was a kid, they were telling me how
soccer was coming. I'm not forty years ago, right, No
longer than that fifty years ago.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
All soccer is.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
Going to be bigger than baseball and football. I'm telling
you everybody around the world play soccer. They told me
that and tried to convince me that also the leader
system was going to be the way that we determined
our beverages. No, the new math that was taught that,
Oh no, it's not a quarter anymore, it's a leader
or whatever, how much is a leader? It's like a
(15:29):
weird number and all we got out of that system, Kelvin,
it's a two leters soda, nothing else.
Speaker 4 (15:36):
And Michigan came out of me. I said, two leater pop.
You know what's what we call it?
Speaker 2 (15:40):
Michigan exactly.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
So all right, eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox
eight seven seven nine nine, six sixty three sixty nine.
Would a deep running the World Cup make soccer mainstream.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
In the US of A?
Speaker 1 (15:54):
We'll continue that conversation next with you. It is the
odd couple where we deliver insight and not noise, and
we value your phone calls. You want to hear from
you your opinion. This is not a podcast, this is
a radio show. We want to hear from you. Eight
seven to seven ninety nine on Fox, Rob Parker, Kelvin, Washington,
(16:16):
And you know.
Speaker 8 (16:16):
What you need to do, stick and stay to start
watching the glory of US soccer in the US of A.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
That's right out.
Speaker 6 (16:26):
Everybody's excited about it, and that's going to be happening
at nine eastern six out here on the West.
Speaker 4 (16:31):
But let's talk about it.
Speaker 6 (16:32):
The world's biggest soccer tournament has arrived and you could
trade the entire tournament on Calci and on CALSI you
can trade every match from the opening stage all the
way to the final.
Speaker 4 (16:41):
So you know me right Ben to Paris. My wife
speaks French. I love it out there, but check it out.
Speaker 6 (16:46):
You can also trade everything we're talking about with trans
and what they're going to be able to do.
Speaker 4 (16:51):
Keep an eye on them.
Speaker 6 (16:51):
Trading at sixteen percent to win it all, meaning one
hundred dollars trade is going to pay out over six
hundred dollars if they were to win the biggest prize.
Francis loaded. They got top tier talent and I think
they got a chance to do it all this year.
Keep an eye on them. So on Calci, you're trading
against peers in a live market, meaning there's no house
and as the possibility changes, the probability changes. You can
(17:12):
buy in and out of your position. So for a
limited time, make sure you download the Cashie app. Okay,
all you gotta do is download it ka l Shi
that's Calcy. Then use the code odd odd to get
ten dollars when your trade ten Calci trade on anything.
Speaker 8 (17:28):
Restrictions and to eligibility apply. Not available in all states.
It must be eighteen plus trading of all significant risk.
Consider if it's appropriate for your financial circumstances. Prices and

A seven seven ninety nine one Fox.
Speaker 7 (19:39):
I know it.
Speaker 6 (19:40):
It is never gonna be football or anything like that.
We know that NBA MLB. But a deep run, let alone,
a championship run. Candice men's national team start a revolution,
dang and a soccer revolution for the young kids.
Speaker 4 (19:55):
Who were coming up. Can they do it?
Speaker 6 (19:57):
I think they could. Rob says, no, what do you say?
Who we got Marty in Kentucky. You're on the couple
of Fox Sports Radio. What's up Marty?
Speaker 2 (20:05):
What's up?
Speaker 6 (20:06):
Rob?
Speaker 2 (20:06):
What's up? Calvin?
Speaker 9 (20:07):
Doing this?
Speaker 10 (20:08):
Right?
Speaker 3 (20:08):
Up?
Speaker 2 (20:08):
Aday? Doing great?
Speaker 1 (20:12):
Rob?
Speaker 11 (20:12):
I couldn't agree more. It's our three major sports are
just two ingrained in US, just like just like hockey
in Canada, and that's not gonna change.
Speaker 1 (20:23):
Eater.
Speaker 12 (20:23):
Yeah, just you know, it's it's I know a lot
of it's environmental what we see and what's marketed, but
I don't think it's only that. I honestly believe, like
I've watched.
Speaker 11 (20:36):
My brother have a third generation basketball player as a kid,
and now I have a third to two third generation
basketball players and children. I almost think that some of
these things are not just environmental, but it just starts
to become a part of it. It's in our.
Speaker 12 (20:52):
DNA, and I don't think it's changing. I think soccer
could rise popularity, but it will never touch those two.
Oh no, no, I agree with.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
That, Marty.
Speaker 4 (21:02):
I don't think anything will the touch. Thank you for
the call.
Speaker 6 (21:04):
But but I wonder, Rob, could it be like UFC
where it was a nothing in the eighties and nineties
here it didn't matter.
Speaker 4 (21:10):
But now it's about to be in the White House,
so it's you know.
Speaker 1 (21:14):
But the flip side of that is that boxing went away,
like you know that we know, you know what I mean,
like that that helped the USC because boxing disappeared and
they only had a few fights every so often and
people couldn't watch them.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
I'm just saying, like, you know what I mean, there
was a miss box with it.
Speaker 6 (21:31):
I mean, you were boxing and baseball back in the
fifty forty, fifty sixties.
Speaker 1 (21:34):
It was the biggest thing going. Jeff in Phoenix, you're
in the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (21:40):
What's up, Jeff?
Speaker 10 (21:42):
I think the USA soccer they simply haven't tapped into
our real resources. Imagine basketball without the error of recruiting
lower income kids from lower income families. So what we're
not doing is we have tons and tons, especially in
the Southwest, tons of families from South America. And if
(22:02):
he's as a school teacher, I see them on the playground.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
I wonder why aren't.
Speaker 10 (22:06):
These kids in club soccer? So they rely too much
on the pay to play model, and they funnel those
kids up in the system. And if you look at
at the team itself, I think there's only three to
four players that have deep groups in South America. Despite
the population of Hispanics and South Americans, it's just not
(22:28):
tapped into and it's unfortunate.
Speaker 4 (22:29):
Man, who was this again, I'm sorry to get his name.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
That's Jeff and Phoenix and Jeff.
Speaker 4 (22:34):
And that was a brilliant call, Jeff, brilliant, brilliant point.
Speaker 6 (22:39):
I had a coworker whose sons are really good, and
she told me rob about a story where there's a
really good kid and his dad played at a high
level and only thing he wanted was a son to
keep getting elevated these clubs and get the certain types
of minutes and didn't want to go here. And so
if you became where, if you're not in these clubs,
you're not in these clicks, you're not in these kids,
you won't play or it doesn't matter. Meanwhile, these other
(23:01):
countries getting kids like he mentioned, out of poorer areas
who are amazing.
Speaker 4 (23:04):
So that's a great point.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
Hey, real quick, one more Jersey Mike from North Carolina,
you're on the odd couple Fox Sports Radio because we
got Leon coming up.
Speaker 2 (23:13):
So you got Jersey, Mike, you got? You got a
minute there? What you got, buddy?
Speaker 13 (23:19):
Great because I'm actually been trying to call him with
a thirty second song that's a parody of the Chiers
theme song. I might only have one game left, it
to a Wemby, and I still believe they can win it,
and I want to put that energy out the cany
indulge me for a second. Yes, go ahead, making your
way to the NBA finals.
Speaker 14 (23:36):
Take so you got. When you like to find the way,
sometimes you gotta go win number one in the lottery
fourteen percent, and then train him with Poppy America's pop.
You gonna go where you can't be over his seven
foot five frame.
Speaker 4 (23:56):
You gotta go.
Speaker 14 (23:57):
Where everybody knows.
Speaker 4 (23:59):
It's Wemby.
Speaker 14 (24:00):
Everybody knows it Wemb. Everybody knows Wemb.
Speaker 6 (24:07):
Love it.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
Yeah, Alex Rocket Racket Fouler Jersey, Mike.
Speaker 4 (24:16):
That might have been fair.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
Fair that's a fair ball Jersey.
Speaker 4 (24:23):
Yeah, little Robrado too.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
That was amazing.
Speaker 10 (24:27):
That was good.
Speaker 6 (24:27):
That was.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
Yes, do that do that? We'll play that when Weinby
and him come back and win the series. Okay, let's I'll.
Speaker 4 (24:34):
Tell you I know who doesn't want to hear it.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
Leon, that's right, I gotta play that Wemby song to Leon.
I mean that one. He probably will throw up in
his mouth right now.
Speaker 6 (24:44):

Why is it that I've been waiting to talk to you?
Speaker 2 (27:10):
I know you've been waiting to talk to me. Kevin.
We already had a back and forth, so I already
know Leon.
Speaker 4 (27:15):
Go ahead, Cook, I didn't even go straight to Leon
before Leon.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
Before you go off on me? Okay?
Speaker 1 (27:21):
And where the Knicks are one game away from the championship,
I do want you to know that I picked the
Spurs in six games, and you, being a singer and producer,
I have to break this song out.
Speaker 2 (27:32):
So you could hear it and then you could go off.
All right.
Speaker 1 (27:35):
Here's the song that I have for Wemby, who's heading
out to the NBA Finals. Call in the name.
Speaker 17 (27:56):
That's lighter than Air, who's been in down to get
into MSG. Everyone knows it's wim Be, who's tripping down
the streets of New York City smiling at everybody he
sees who's.
Speaker 18 (28:15):
Reaching out to capture this moment? Everyone knows it's wim Be.
And when Be has long legs, that handle.
Speaker 19 (28:29):
Is no live And when Be has wings to fly
above the crowd, above the crowd, above the crowd, above
the crowd.
Speaker 2 (28:43):
All right, there you go, Leander my Wimby song.
Speaker 7 (28:48):
Okay, okay, okay.
Speaker 20 (28:53):
Okay, I listen, rob, I surrender.
Speaker 11 (29:01):
I don't care.
Speaker 7 (29:03):
I don't care. Whatever it is you want to say,
it's all caught with me.
Speaker 21 (29:07):
Please just don't.
Speaker 16 (29:08):
Play that song again. I tell you, I'm throwing in
the white flag.
Speaker 20 (29:16):
That was That was my kryptonite right there, that song
there is you.
Speaker 1 (29:21):
I got you, hey, hey on On the real tip,
where were you watching it? Were you at the guard?
Where were you when the Knicks came back to twenty
nine point? Were you at home?
Speaker 7 (29:32):
Where were you second row? Then look at that.
Speaker 21 (29:38):
Right behind your girl?
Speaker 4 (29:42):
Who that which girl? Taylor?
Speaker 9 (29:45):
Who else?
Speaker 16 (29:46):
Who else they talk about?
Speaker 2 (29:47):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (29:48):
Taylor? Okay?
Speaker 2 (29:49):
Because then then now like questioning whether she's a Nick
fan or whatever.
Speaker 16 (29:53):
I don't know, but you know, you know the thing is, look,
life in general is a trendy thing. So you know,
we got Nick fans from all around a country where
every famous person now has been a Knicks fan in
their whole life.
Speaker 9 (30:09):
You know how that goes.
Speaker 1 (30:11):
When I see Jimmy Johnson wearing a Nick T shirt
as an eighty year old man, I'm I'm okay, I'm.
Speaker 16 (30:18):
Like, wow, yeah, telling you something.
Speaker 7 (30:20):
It's a beautiful thing.
Speaker 21 (30:21):
Is bringing people together.
Speaker 16 (30:24):
You know, it's like every walk of life, you know,
everybody's just so happy. You know, I got Jimmy Sallon
hugging me from one side of me.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
I got.
Speaker 16 (30:35):
Who else huging me for the next side?
Speaker 7 (30:36):
Win?
Speaker 9 (30:36):
The former Nick players jumping on me.
Speaker 7 (30:38):
It's like, it's crazy, No, not me.
Speaker 1 (30:40):
Ask you but Leon. Okay, so they win, but they
were down twenty nine points. Be honest, where were you?
Were you calling Mike Brown, Charlie Brown? Were you distraught?
Were you like, we're going to blow this? We went
up two oh in San Antonio.
Speaker 2 (30:56):
We lose this game. We've given it right back to them,
and we're in trouble. Where was your head? Give it?
Give me the mental part right there? First half?
Speaker 16 (31:04):
Well, first, I want to just.
Speaker 7 (31:07):
Give this game a proper name and definition.
Speaker 16 (31:14):
Okay, it was the agony and the ecstasy, Okay, that
was this game. If he had to give this game
a name, that was it. Because the agony that we
were feeling at halftime and in that third quarter was beyond.
We waited for this final moment, and here we are
down twenty nine points. We're all looking at each other
(31:34):
like you got to be kidding me, you got to
be kidding me. And then everyone's talking to me like, well,
a lot of people leaving.
Speaker 21 (31:44):
They're going home.
Speaker 20 (31:44):
I said, do you know the price of them tickets?
Speaker 2 (31:47):
Ain't nobody going nowhere?
Speaker 20 (31:48):
Ain't nobody going home. Ain't nobody going home to see
they rout the roof with the other team.
Speaker 16 (31:53):
They go home with that price.
Speaker 6 (31:57):
Speaking of the other team, Leon, let me ask you.
You guys have to be there second role. What's it
like to see Wenby? I haven't seen him in person.
I pretty much seen everybody at least in rob seven
foot five, gangly are skilled, though not like a big guy,
you know, can't move, he's not lurch.
Speaker 4 (32:14):
What was it like to witness him and s he
like man? This judas I would imagine an alien.
Speaker 16 (32:19):
Yeah, you know, I've seen him a couple of times
and it's yeah, it's amazing, you know, it'spensively because of
how long.
Speaker 21 (32:25):
His limbs are and how easy it is to just
throw the ball up to him and he can just
put it in from anywhere. I mean when his when
his skill level in cruise and he puts on some weights, like, yeah,
it's gonna be crazy. But what's really amazed me was
his jumper.
Speaker 7 (32:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 21 (32:42):
I mean, yo, he pulls up.
Speaker 16 (32:44):
From anywhere and you know you're not blocking it. That's
why I don't understand why anyone gets a foul on
him when he shoot a jumper, Like, were you really thinking.
Speaker 7 (32:52):
You're blocking it?
Speaker 4 (32:54):
Right?
Speaker 1 (32:54):
Right?
Speaker 2 (32:54):
Why are you jumping into him?
Speaker 4 (32:56):
Like how you jumping into him?
Speaker 7 (32:58):
Touching him?
Speaker 1 (32:58):
Like?
Speaker 7 (32:59):
What is that about?
Speaker 9 (33:00):
Okay, not to waste the time.
Speaker 2 (33:04):
Hey, let me ask you.
Speaker 1 (33:05):
Okay, I'm not trying to drink the knicks and say
it's over whatever, But right now, who's leading in your
mind to be the MVP if they do go on
to win, because obviously they need to get another win
and we're not drinking them.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
They have not won anything.
Speaker 1 (33:20):
But just uh, in the beginning, I think it was
Cat because the first couple of games he kind of
helped win me down.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
Then I think it was you know, Brunton was kind
of there.
Speaker 1 (33:30):
Now, og, So who do you have if we were
to say, okay, they win the next game and we
got to pick an MVP.
Speaker 7 (33:39):
Okay, are you asking me who I think they would pick?
Speaker 2 (33:42):
Yeah, yeah, yep, yep.
Speaker 7 (33:44):
Yeah, Well I think they will pick is Jalen Brunton.
Speaker 2 (33:47):
See, I agree with you.
Speaker 16 (33:48):
I know the reason why I'm going to say Jalen
Brunton because they want to pick Jalen Brunton.
Speaker 9 (33:53):
He's the star of the team.
Speaker 7 (33:54):
He's a story and he's done nothing.
Speaker 16 (33:57):
To take himself out of that competition.
Speaker 2 (34:00):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 7 (34:00):
He's only improved itself as far as that category is concerned.
Speaker 21 (34:05):
Now, do you have a case for o G.
Speaker 7 (34:09):
Well, if you're looking at the entire body, well, the
game is played.
Speaker 16 (34:12):
On both sides of the court, right right right, and
he is stella in Stella on defense.
Speaker 20 (34:19):
I mean, everyone keeps talking about that tip and it's
gonna go in history.
Speaker 7 (34:22):
But without without the block, there.
Speaker 1 (34:25):
Is no was that a block or foul? I've seen pictures, Kelvin,
I sent you the picture you did.
Speaker 20 (34:31):
I've seen pictures too, but you know what it is
in the block.
Speaker 11 (34:34):
If they don't call it.
Speaker 4 (34:36):
No, I can't by the way, they came out and
said the NBA said that it wasn't the foul. I
was shocked. The NBA has come out, saw.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
The picture and and and Leon. You saw it too
right after it. Yeah, I saw it.
Speaker 20 (34:49):
But I'll tell you one thing.
Speaker 7 (34:51):
I didn't see Fox complaining.
Speaker 2 (34:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (34:55):
I think he knew he shouldn't. He was supposed to
drive it out, like.
Speaker 1 (34:57):
Uh, you basketball, You play basketball, dude, Come on, like
that is elementary basketball.
Speaker 2 (35:04):
You have the lead and the ball with ten seconds
to go, you do not take a shot.
Speaker 16 (35:09):
Okay, Okay. So this would have to say.
Speaker 7 (35:14):
From a basketball professive, when you're in a game and
it's especially a tight game, last in a game like that,
and there's a loose ball and the ball is going
towards your bucket, you usually try to scoop it up
as quick as you possibly can and just put it
in the bucket. Done, okay, And that's what.
Speaker 16 (35:34):
I think he was doing. He thought there's no way Fox,
one of the fastest guys.
Speaker 7 (35:38):
In the league. He said, this is a lay up
to him.
Speaker 20 (35:42):
I don't think he even thought, oh, he was gonna
get to him.
Speaker 2 (35:45):
But that, but it doesn't even.
Speaker 20 (35:49):
No, No, I'm not saying you shouldn't have pulled it out.
What I'm saying is that you're not thinking then when
the ball is moving to the bucket and you're rusting
at full speed to get it and realize you have
a layer. So what I'm saying instinct took over there,
not thought.
Speaker 7 (36:04):
Is that the right thing here?
Speaker 16 (36:05):
In hindsight we can kill.
Speaker 11 (36:06):
Them for it.
Speaker 20 (36:07):
But I'm telling you, as a ballplayer, when that ball
is moving and you're moving at the quickest seed to
grab and you think there's an open lay up here,
you take it.
Speaker 4 (36:16):
Yeah, yeah, I can understand that too. Real quick. We
only got a second.
Speaker 6 (36:21):
I was gonna ask Game five tonight if I can
san Antoni, is it a rap?
Speaker 2 (36:25):
Do y'all tomorrow?
Speaker 4 (36:26):
Do y'all win it tomorrow? Or are we going back
to New York?
Speaker 7 (36:32):
I want us to win it tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (36:34):
I want you don't want the series go on?
Speaker 14 (36:36):
Right?
Speaker 16 (36:37):
I wanted to win tomorrow.
Speaker 20 (36:38):
I mean, you know, oh, great, we can win it
in Magic's great guard.
Speaker 16 (36:41):
That's no guarantee. That's no guarantee.
Speaker 7 (36:45):
You saw the last game.
Speaker 20 (36:46):
It took us a tip to win it.
Speaker 4 (36:48):
Yeah, Okay, that's no guarantee that.
Speaker 20 (36:51):
Only one team is even one on their floor. I
don't want to take chances if you're watching the same
series that I'm watching.
Speaker 9 (36:59):
Okay, these sanitonial spurs, these young boys, they about a
game away from figuring this out, okay, and I don't
want to be playing that when.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
They figure it out. Okay, that's a great point.
Speaker 4 (37:13):
That's basketball.
Speaker 1 (37:14):
And when you started this segment, you talked about the
agony and the ecstasy of the Knicks. Uh that come
back when and I'm going to tell you about my
ecstasy and agony. It's I have to reverse because I
was in ecstasy until the bag fell off of her
head and then it was agony.
Speaker 2 (37:30):
So you know, we're kind of close, you know, Rob, Rob.
Speaker 16 (37:37):
I was so so happy that you have a steady
job and that you don't venture off into these other
things that you.

Speaker 2 (39:54):
Dude, it was wooty damn d last night because I
had no bets.
Speaker 1 (40:00):
Remember, we did not bet, so I'm still at one
fifty nine and one thirty two, twenty seven games over
five hundred, one fifty nine and one thirty two.
Speaker 2 (40:12):
Here we go tonight, three basketball, I mean three baseball games.
Speaker 1 (40:15):
I'm gonna take the A's in Sacramento minus one and
a half hosting the Rockies. Then I got the Raise
minus one and a half in Anaheim taking on the Angels,
and I got the Cubs plus one and a half
take it on the Giants.
Speaker 2 (40:37):
I think the Blue Jays just hit a three run
home run in the first inning. I'm looking at that game,
so we're not picking that again.
Speaker 1 (40:43):
I got cub plus one and a half, Raised minus
one and a half, and the A's minus one and
a half.
Speaker 6 (40:49):
And remember, Kelvin, I'm not telling you who to bet on.

Speaker 6 (41:44):
It might be five heartbeats by an edge. My favorite
things that Leon did. Five heart beats, cool runnings, above
the rim, temptations was great. Uh, little Richard Cliffhanger, he
was in a bunch of good stuff. I think it's
the I think it's five heart beats for me.
Speaker 2 (42:00):
I agree.
Speaker 4 (42:02):
A lot of people say above the rim as well
as a good one. Stick with your boys.
