(01:44):
Who should be.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
Eating cheesecake between breaks? Is that gonna be the case?
Speaker 1 (01:52):
Nah, I'm gonna save it for later on tonight. But yes,
how are you, mister Chris Bussard.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
I'm good. I wish you could mail me a piece
of that cheese vanilla bean.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
We got a nice we couldn't get a full one,
but we had what a lunch we had, Chris.
Speaker 6 (02:08):
Obviously we wish you would have been here. Uh, but
the rock.
Speaker 4 (02:12):
It was a weird lunch, was it.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
We're basically with our new wife and our ex girlfriend
isn't out of the picture.
Speaker 4 (02:17):
I know you, we're celebrating it, and I'm like, where's Chris.
It's weird. It was weird. And then Chris calls in
the middle of the lunch like you knew we were
out on behind your back. I didn't feel wanted either,
that like we don't he got phone? You know why?
He had a fasten you to run down. That's relax.
(02:39):
I'm halfway out the door now.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Mystake is getting cold right right, Chris, we had Adupe
beverages for lunch.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
We had cheesecakes. This is gonna be a.
Speaker 5 (02:49):
Crazy that's why the shop talk is.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
What it is. You think I might sit that one out?
All right?
Speaker 6 (02:57):
It's okay crazy, Oh no, it's all good. But yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
And of course, Chris, your last TV theme song Thursday.
We've had a lot of fun singing.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
Yes, Stevie Thing's on Thursday and Tyshon's Hour of Trivia.
That's right, So I better win. I have to go
out in a blaze of florid alis.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Alex, you know that second drink you had?
Speaker 4 (03:19):
That was payment?
Speaker 1 (03:20):
Oh fair enough, even though I didn't pay for anything,
but it was.
Speaker 6 (03:26):
It was good, Don and Scott, it was good. We
had a good time.
Speaker 5 (03:29):
Elijah, how old was the whole couple cruding? Yes, we
got DJ Alex Tyson. He's here obviously, Rob g, Rob
G you there on the updates, our man Steve. I
was waiting for the you know Steve here it is
Steve de Seger and on the social media, the Great
(03:51):
Elijah's here in studio too, you know, documenting your last
couple of shows and all that stuff.
Speaker 4 (04:00):
That's right.
Speaker 6 (04:01):
Tops how you feeling?
Speaker 4 (04:03):
And then there were two. I know, you know, the
closer it gets, you know, you feel a little sentimental.
Speaker 5 (04:09):
For sure, six years a long time it's been. It
has been like a two weeks celebration, so you know,
but it's.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
Good, Chris, I have a party, get for you ready.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
I went to Bill Cosby's house too. I had a
drink and I woke up dis rolled. Oh Rob, all right, Rob,
Well look, let's talk about this game.
Speaker 5 (04:39):
And now you have a prediction which is opposite me,
because uh, I have Josh Allen and the Bills going
into Miami and beating the Miami Dolphins.
Speaker 4 (04:55):
I'm picking twenty eight twenty fours.
Speaker 5 (04:57):
I'm not necessarily picking a blowout, but I just think
they're gonna put it on the Dolphins once again as
they usually do, and you feel otherwise.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
Yeah, I think sometimes, I know, we get caught into it.
Speaker 6 (05:09):
We talked about this before, Chris.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
With the Boston Celtics, and obviously people knew they were
a good team, but people really weren't buying in that
they could win and they could do what they needed
to do. And I'm not saying that the Dolphins are
gonna win the championship. I'm not okay, but sometimes you
don't win until you win, you know what I mean,
and you can sit around and talk about it. And
Buffalo didn't have the greatest game either. I mean, they
(05:35):
struggled Chris early on, and then of course Arizona's defense
just rolled over, so it wound up being, you know,
a huge comeback by Buffalo. So I'm not like all
convinced that Buffalo has turned the corner. They're gonna be
a juggernaut this year. We saw them struggle a lot
last year, a lot of changes. That was on Arizona.
(05:56):
Who was up what seventeen or they robbed he's seventeen
nothing or seventeen to three, Chris, what was the score?
Speaker 4 (06:02):
And to lose that game, you know, like they were down.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
I think it was seventeen to nothing, but you get
my point, and they wound up losing. So I'm not saying,
I'm not predicting they're gonna put a seventy piece on
the bills or it's gonna be anything of that.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
ILK.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
I just think at some point, you just win one
and I think it's time. It's a feel, Chris, I
can't give you x'es and o's and tell you exactly
why they're going to win, other than there's a feel
like this is one that they could finally exercise that
demon and just go out have a game, win and
(06:39):
then put this story like you can't beat the Bills
behind them, and then they could just so happen, especially
the way they came back where they were down and
out of it and we saw Tyreek Hill detained by
the police, and just the way that they're Opening Day
and everything started for them wasn't great, and then they
got off to such a horrific start, but they came
(07:01):
back and were able to win, and this would be
another uh game for them to say, yeah, things are
changing around here in Miami and that that's all they
have to go for.
Speaker 5 (07:12):
Well, first I'll say this, they are not the Boston Celtics.
That Celtics team had been to several East Yeah, but
there was yeah, but they had, but they had still
been to several Eastern Conference finals and you know, obviously
been to an NBA finals.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
The Dolphins haven't been anything close to that.
Speaker 5 (07:32):
Now, they may don't want a playoff game, yeah, but
I mean, there was less reason to doubt the Celtics
than there is to doubt the Dolphins. The Dolphins needed
because Tua is one in six against the Bills, and.
Speaker 4 (07:49):
He and Mike McCarthy have talked about this.
Speaker 5 (07:51):
Narrative that's out there and rightly so, that the Dolphins
can't beat the good teams, not just Buffalo, but good
teams period. They were one and six last year against
playoff teams. They beat up on the Chumps, but one
and six against playoff teams. And then Tua is one
in six against Buffalo. So Buffalo is one of those
(08:14):
good teams that they just haven't been able to play with.
And last year Rob Buffalo smacked them around. The Dolphins,
of course, put seventy points on Denver, feeling good about themselves.
Everybody is like, oh my gosh, what in the world
is Miami about to do? And the very next week
(08:37):
Buffalo smacks them forty eight to twenty and send them
back to Earth. Then they need to beat Buffalo for
the division crown. At the end of the season. Buffalo
beats them, doesn't blow them out, but beats them again.
And the thing is this, Rob Josh Allen has had
his way with the Miami Dolphins, or yeah, with the
(08:58):
Miami Dolphins, and that is one of the issues that
they're gonna have to overcome the day. That's just one
I'm gonna give you. Because Josh Allen's eleven and two
against the Dolphins. He throws for two hundred and eighty
six yards a game on average against them, thirty six touchdowns,
nine interceptions, and a one ZHO nine passer rating. Josh
(09:20):
Allen doesn't always have that hive of passer rating, so
he he has his weight with the Dolphins.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
And then here's the other thing.
Speaker 5 (09:26):
Tyreek Hill has struggled against the Dolphins or the Bills.
I mean not, you know, not dominated the way he
typically does. In seven regular season games, and this includes
some of them when he was in Kansas City and
obviously had Patrick Mahomes throwing to him.
Speaker 4 (09:44):
He's only averages fifty.
Speaker 5 (09:45):
Two yards a game, fewer than ten yards per catch,
and has two touchdowns in the seven game.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
So they they got a lot to overcome.
Speaker 5 (09:57):
I'm not saying it's impossible, but I I think Buffalo
is a tougher team. I think they're leaning into that
toughness when they got rid of Defined Diggs and they're saying, look,
we're gonna run the ball.
Speaker 4 (10:10):
We got two tight ends.
Speaker 5 (10:11):
That are really good, and they think they can have
their way with the Dolphins, and I think they will tonight.
But I think a good game twenty eight, twenty four
and Buffalo prevailed.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
And the last time they played it was a one
score game, right, Yeah, that was the division crap. Miami
had the ball two minutes left at their thirty seven
and to it through a pick and they wound up losing.
Speaker 6 (10:31):
So it wasn't like they got run out of their
own building. They lost.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
I just think that they can change their fortunes and
they will, so I'm looking forward to it.
Speaker 5 (10:40):
You have them winning this division? Was that your prediction? No,
Miami or I don't remember?
Speaker 4 (10:44):
We did?
Speaker 6 (10:45):
Do we do that?
Speaker 7 (10:46):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (10:46):
We did? We did? Yeah, because we did our playoff picks?
We didn't do Did we do them?
Speaker 2 (10:51):
No?
Speaker 4 (10:51):
We did the division? So who do you don't have
Buffalo even making the playoffs though?
Speaker 6 (10:55):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (10:56):
So who do you have out of that division making
the playoffs? I don't even remember if I even did
the whole thing yet, I have to look at it.
I could you remember? I just knew you know, you
picked the Jets, right, Buffalo? Y'all got the Jets winning
the Vision.
Speaker 5 (11:07):
But I do have Buffalo, and this might be a
little over overextended myself, but I do have those three
teams through Buffalo and Miami making the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (11:17):
We'll see. So I think Miami is good.
Speaker 5 (11:19):
You know, I respect them, but I just think they're
a finesse team. I tease them like they're a breakdancers.
And I think Buffalo is a tough, hard nosed team,
so I think they're gonna be too physical. But we'll
see two of those. He's got to get it done.
I'll say this, Rob. If him and m Mike McDaniel
(11:40):
acknowledging the narrative that they can't be good teams, they
can't be Buffalo if they lose tonight at home, I
think that narrative is going to be in the backs
of their minds until they every time they play a
good team this year and win, I think they'll they'll
they'll go a long way in erasing it, but that's
(12:01):
what you have to do. To erase a thought like that,
a mental stronghold or something like that, is you have
to overcome it. And so tonight's their chance. I don't
think they do. Rob thinks they do. What are your thoughts?

I think that was within the Was that within the
first year of the show? First year or two? Right, Alex?
Speaker 4 (13:26):
Maybe?
Speaker 5 (13:27):
Yeah, it was definitely within the first two, but maybe
even the first one.
Speaker 4 (13:31):
I remember that there was a video of that.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
Yeah, it was a video where it was the old
studio side by side back then. That was a great
on a TV theme song. Thursday, we figured we had
to play that. Well, Rob, I'm gonna tell you this.
Speaker 5 (13:46):
As soon as I told my wife, you know, I
was uh gonna leave the odd couple. We we bought
an apartment on the East side of Manhattan.

All right, eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, Is
this the night that the Miami Dolphins make a statement
and beat one of Their nemesis is the Buffalo Bills,
who have won six of the last seven against them.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
All right, Darren and Montana, you're on the odd couple,
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (14:52):
What you got, Darren? How are you?
Speaker 7 (14:54):
Oh my god, thank you guys so much. How to
follow that? Moving on up?
Speaker 6 (14:58):
Yes? Come on, that's all that's an all time song, all.
Speaker 7 (15:02):
Time kidding me? How about this?
Speaker 9 (15:06):
Moving on up? I go Miami, moving on up? They
remind they remind me kind of what they're doing. Honestly,
Mike McDaniels reminds me of the Miami Miamivice. I mean,
there's gotta be a Miami vice him with him. But
either way, they remind me of ac. They remind me
(15:26):
of San Francisco and Buffalo Bills, the Buffalo They're moving
on up. What they're doing is great.
Speaker 4 (15:33):
I don't think they have the defense.
Speaker 5 (15:34):
Now, maybe they played well, you know, I mean, I
thought they played a tough game against Jacksonville, but they
Kansas City's got a great defense, and obviously San Francisco
has a great defense. So if they gonna be like that,
then we'll see.
Speaker 4 (15:47):
They'll show us tonight, I guess all.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
Right, Darren, Thanks buddy, appreciated, dre Andre and Massachusetts.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Dray,
how you doing?
Speaker 10 (15:58):
Thanks for taking the call us and I am gonna concurr.
Speaker 7 (16:01):
Listen.
Speaker 10 (16:02):
This is the Miami Dolphins time to shine and beat.
Speaker 7 (16:05):
The Buffalo Bills.
Speaker 10 (16:06):
But they're just a better team overall. What do you
invest in all these weapons for a Tyreek Hill, a
wattle paying to a Tugaby Lowell, having Kalais Campbell on
the defense? Right, the Miami Dolphins have the teachers in
place where if the Buffalo Bills have gone with the
lesses more mind us what they are they? This is
if they're not if it doesn't get done, now, what
is it ever gonna get done? Specifically for the coach
(16:28):
Miami Mike who I love the swagger, the gold watch,
wearing the shades and the interviews. He's gonna win some
big games.
Speaker 4 (16:35):
Miami Dogs did those weapons last year?
Speaker 10 (16:39):
They did, and they toured seventy points against the against
against Denver.
Speaker 5 (16:43):
Why even bringing that up Denver? But how they score against.
Speaker 10 (16:47):
Buffalo, that's my point.
Speaker 4 (16:50):
Chris thirty four in two games.
Speaker 10 (16:52):
They didn't play well in big spots against good teams.
So that's the that's the standard they have to cross,
and this year I think that they're ready and they'll
do it. The better team it's their time. I'm going
with Miami. They's taking the call.
Speaker 4 (17:04):
YEP, appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
Brian in Tennessee, Tennessee, you're on the odd couple Fox
Sports Waite, what's up.
Speaker 11 (17:12):
George and Weezy.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
I'm George, George. That's right with the fro line.
Speaker 7 (17:22):
Yes, I'm a Homer.
Speaker 11 (17:25):
I've been a Dolphins fan for fifty four years, so
it's no Dolphins.
Speaker 5 (17:31):
Yeah, this is the this is the I respect y'all
sticking behind your team, and.
Speaker 4 (17:36):
We'll see tonight. Maybe they'll proved me wrong.
Speaker 5 (17:38):
They're kind of to me there there that I'll believe
it when I see it.
Speaker 11 (17:43):
Yeah, I know. But on any given day, any given team,
you know what I'm saying, Well, look, they do have talent.
Speaker 4 (17:50):
I love their talent.
Speaker 5 (17:51):
They've got some of the best skilled players, you know,
one of the best skill groups in the league.
Speaker 4 (17:57):
And Tua.
Speaker 5 (17:58):
I don't think tuas like on that top tier or
even second tier quarterbacks.
Speaker 4 (18:05):
He's good and I think he'sier.
Speaker 1 (18:08):
I mean he led uh and like he was in
the top five and like four to five and four
of the five you know, top quarterback.
Speaker 5 (18:17):
Uh, say, what do you used to say with Dak
can't be the good team?
Speaker 7 (18:22):
No?
Speaker 5 (18:22):
I mean, and I think in some way like he
doesn't have the strongest arm, which in the requirement, but
he doesn't.
Speaker 4 (18:29):
He's not that mobile. I think he's paint by numbers
and uh.
Speaker 5 (18:34):
And then when they play good teams to take some
of that stuff away. I think that's why he struggles,
because he's not the most innovative guy off schedule.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
But I just think that there's a progression as a
time he can make that next leap.
Speaker 4 (18:47):
I'm not saying gonna be.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
A top tier quarterback, but he can. There's room for improvement,
and I think he has talent, So I'm not I
haven't closed the book to say that he is who
he is and there's no growth there.
Speaker 6 (18:59):
I still think they could be growth.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
Lewis in Florida, You're in the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (19:04):
What's up, Lewis, What's up? What's up?
Speaker 7 (19:09):
Long time? Long time?
Speaker 1 (19:11):
Listen the first time going wow, you all got it
right after the wire, you know, Chris living Tomorrow, you know,
Hey one and a half days left.
Speaker 7 (19:22):
The Dons. We gotta do it tonight, man, we gotta
do it. They've been beating down bus all this time.
Speaker 11 (19:28):
It's times.
Speaker 7 (19:29):
The time is now, all right.
Speaker 4 (19:31):
I'm with you.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
And if they do win, that probably will be that
moment Chris, where it's like, Okay, uh, you gotta win.
You gotta get to that point. And I think that
that that'll happen tonight. It's what's funny. They're only two
and a half point favorites right, Normally it's three. So
that's a little something that Vegas is telling you. But
that's a that's a good bet there. To take Dolphins
(19:53):
minus two and a half. They win by three, you're
good to go.
Speaker 4 (19:57):
All right. It is the odd Couple.
Speaker 5 (19:59):
Speaking of the Dolphins, there be are columnists down there
for the Sun Sentinel. Chris Perkins will join us around
the corner.
Speaker 2 (20:08):
But first, Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk

Speaker 5 (20:20):
It's the Eye Couple live from the Tirereck dot com studios.
Our next guest is a columnist for the Sun Sentinel
down in Miami. We welcome in front of the show,
Chris Perkins. Chris, how are you?
Speaker 4 (20:31):
What's up? Chris?
Speaker 7 (20:33):
What's up? Man? I'm hoping for a peaceful pregame tonight
so far. So there you go.
Speaker 1 (20:38):
Nobody, nobody, nobody, Well you put it hands before the game?
Speaker 7 (20:43):
No, fortunately not. But I did the scene women, so
it was all good.
Speaker 5 (20:47):
Well, and we're gonna give you some credit because we
saw your column.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
Yeah, not your typical local Homer column, like so many
people tend to war.
Speaker 5 (20:56):
And even a lot of people just nationally are Look,
I do think the cops were excessive with Tyreek, but
he didn't help the situation.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
He did.
Speaker 4 (21:05):
Yeah, he was.
Speaker 5 (21:06):
Disrespectful what you said, he wasn't and he, you know,
rolling up tenant windows one cop A cop doesn't know, like,
what are you doing in there?
Speaker 4 (21:15):
I can't see a thing, you know.
Speaker 5 (21:17):
And so I credit you for, you know, basically calling
it like it is and not just dumping on the cops.
Who again, I think we're excessive for sure, and deserves
some criticism, but Tyreek is certainly not blameless in this.
Speaker 7 (21:33):
Yeah, and you know what, the way I look at
it is, you know, the race was a factor and
the police were more at fault than Tyreek. But it's close.
Tyreek can't be such a knumblehead, like you're a black man.
You can't roll up your window and a cop like that.
I mean, we can talk about fair or not, but
the reality he is, if you do that, there's gonna
(21:55):
be problems. And so you know that you had a
cop looking for a fight and Hyreek the reason to
fight and where we are right now.
Speaker 6 (22:03):
And the other thing too, And I think Tyreek, I
get it.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
You know, nobody wants to be put in handcuffs or whatever,
but now you know, with his history dealing with cops
or whatever, now he wants the cop fired.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
And I just it just.
Speaker 1 (22:18):
Seemed like it's a lot, you know what I mean
for a guy who's got a lot of running with
the police exactly.
Speaker 7 (22:24):
And you know what I don't like is that how
it just becomes this big political thing and everybody plays
their roles right, and you know, and like, I just
don't know that that's going to lead to change. You know,
if you're serious about change, why don't we take a
different route Because what we've done for the last three
decades is not working. If you go from Rodney King
(22:45):
through George Floyd. What we're doing isn't working. So let's
try something different. Let's try some respect for each other
and maybe that'll work.
Speaker 4 (22:54):
Yeah, no, no questions.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
I've told Christas before too. You know, I have a
lot of people in my family who are cops. Her
brother was an FBI agent, was an Atlanta cop.
Speaker 4 (23:04):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
I have a lot of people in my family who
are in law enforcement and they want to stay safe.
Speaker 6 (23:11):
Everybody does.
Speaker 7 (23:13):
Yeah, right, I'm trying to reach out to a couple
of black police associations. They got skinned in the game
both ways, no pun intended. But I haven't gotten any
response yet, but I'm gonna I'm gonna keep but I
don't want to belabor this story. I'll probably just kind
of let it go if nothing else happens, because we've
heard enough. It's time to get back to football. But
I think they would have interesting perspectives.
Speaker 5 (23:35):
Absolutely, and let's do that. Now, get back to football.
So we know the situation. The Dolphins one in six
last year against playoff teams, one in six against Buffalo
with two at quarterback, Josh Allen's been able to have
his way with the Dolphins over the last few years.
How big to you is this game for the Dolphins?
Speaker 4 (23:56):
And is it?
Speaker 5 (23:57):
I mean it's not a literal must win, but psycha,
is this kind of a must win for them?
Speaker 7 (24:03):
Yeah? You know what, I call it a need to win.
You know it's too early for a must win, but
you need to win this game for a lot of
reasons for your psyche, because you're at home. You know,
under Mike McDaniel, the Dolphins are seven and one at
home in September, and are seven and one in September
four and oh at home in September, so you want
(24:24):
to kind of keep that home dominance going. This is
one of those steps to getting you a home playoff
game that you so badly need. This is one of
those steps to win in the AFC East, which you
need to do. This is one of those steps to
exercising those demons about Yes, you were one and six
against playoff teams last year. You're three and twelve against
(24:45):
playoff teams under Mike McDaniel. And I'll tell you all
something else. If they lose tonight, I'm gonna have to
start thinking are the Dolphins getting out coached in these games.
Speaker 4 (24:56):
I'm glad, I'm glad. I'm glad.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
I'm glad you brought that up, because it's easy to
always point to the quarterback, you know. And let's look
at the coaching because it's on two sides. It's defensive
end offensive, it's not just one sided. And why can't
they close out?
Speaker 4 (25:12):
Last year?
Speaker 1 (25:12):
They had a chance to win that game at the
end right and to it through a pick with two
minutes to go, and they wind up losing a Buffalo.
Speaker 4 (25:20):
I thought for most of that game they were gonna
win that game. I did when I was watching it.
Speaker 7 (25:25):
Yeah, and look these games where you know they're one
and six. Last year against playoff teams, they were outscored
by an average of thirty two to sixteam. I don't
know what's worse that you allow thirty two.
Speaker 4 (25:37):
Per Yes, you're right, right, right, thank you? Right?
Speaker 7 (25:41):
I mean, come on, and this is the offensive team.
I've got to start seeing some results from this offense.
That it doesn't make me popular down here, but we
got to see this offense start doing something or else
you're gonna have to start looking at them like what
are y'all really about here?
Speaker 4 (25:57):
And maybe you put it on McDaniel.
Speaker 5 (25:59):
But I want to ask, do you why do you
think Tua it's not just that he's lost. You look
at his stats against the good teams, and they're they're very,
very bad, you know, especially compared to what he does
against the other teams. So do you put that on
McDaniel or is that more on too and other players?
Speaker 7 (26:18):
I think it's on the entire offense. The offense starts
with McDaniel. But you know last year, in those seven
games against playoff teams, Tua had eight touchdown seven interceptions.
Tyreek had no one hundred yard games, Jaylen Bottom no
one hundred yard games. Raheem mostered at running back, who
had a franchise record of eighteen rushing touchdowns, he had
(26:41):
one against a playoff team. So it's everybody. Is this
your two receivers, it's your quarterback as your running back,
as your coach, it's your whole offensive system. And look,
we've seen like teams do a lot of different things.
You know. My thing is this offense is about two things,
Tyreek and the fear of Tyree. And I think that
(27:02):
really the good teams catch on to that. And not
only are they playing two deep safeties, to take away
the big play from Wadel and Tyreek. But last year
we saw Bill Belichick use three deep safeties and a
shadowing Tyreek underneath with Christian Gonzales. We saw Wink Martindale
of the New York Giants, who is known for blitz,
(27:24):
and he didn't blitz. We've seen the second time that
they played Belichick, he had linebackers and safeties lined up
in different spots. Teams are getting creative against the Dolphins
because they know if we stop Tyreek, we have a
good chance. This offense really can't score. And so that's
kind of where coaching comes in. Also, why don't you
use your tight ends? Why why don't you use your
(27:46):
slot receiver. You've got to build a complete offense, and
this is just kind of an offense built on Steve.
I was telling somebody the Dolphins are an interesting experiment
and the gray Beards, y'all will appreciate this. I said,
it's kind of like the NFL put LT and Ronnie
Lot out there for defense, and Mike McDaniels has said, Okay,
here's Ronald on me and Maya and Willie Gold and
(28:07):
it's like, you know, it's not really working that great.
Speaker 5 (28:12):
Right, that's a great point though about the scheme, because
you're right, Tyreek has not gotten it done against not
just the Bills, but a lot of the top teams.
Speaker 7 (28:21):
Correct, that's correct. They were eight to er last year
when Tyreek had one hundred or more yards and then
let's see, so they finished eleven and seven. So what's
that three and seven when he had fewer than one hundred.
He did have ninety nine against Dallas. They did beat
a playoff team twenty two to twenty. But even in
that game, the offense scored one touchdown. Jason Sanders hat
(28:44):
five field goals.
Speaker 1 (28:45):
How all different this tour? Is he relaxed? Now he's
got the money? I thought that they had to pay him.
They've been looking for a franchise quarterback for a long time.
I don't know what other alternative they had. So is
he relaxed? Is he different?
Speaker 4 (29:00):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (29:01):
That's he's cemented in there to just be able to
go out there and play.
Speaker 7 (29:06):
Now, Yeah, he is different. And y'all will appreciate this
as medium members. So and just to explain it to everybody, listen, quarterbacks,
the starting quarterback usually speaks once a week. Usually on Wednesday,
usually on the podium, and when you see him in
the locker room, you maybe you can go up and
talk to him. You kind of don't want to bother
him to it. Some quarterbacks have been real good. Ryan
(29:28):
Fitzpatrick was real good about talking just chatting casually during
the week. Chad Pennington was real good about chatt and
Tenant so was so so to a first two league.
First two years in the league were the COVID years
and under Brian Flores, So I'm not sure that he
had the greatest socialization. Last year he kind of started
talking to us a little bit. But this year there's
(29:51):
been a couple of casual conversations we've had with Tua.
And I know that everybody talked about how he's been
on the podium, but I judge it by the locker room,
and he's been real chill with us. In the locker room,
you can kind of make casual conversation, right and and
you guys know that's a that's a big time that
a quarterback is comfortable in his own skin when he
can just kind of casually chat with the media, he
(30:12):
has no fear that it's going to be taken out
of context or published or anything like that that shows
a certain level of comfort and trust. And and I
really look at that, and I believe that as far
as here's how I know too. It's more comfortable in
his own skin this year.
Speaker 4 (30:27):
All right, that's Chris Perkins.
Speaker 7 (30:34):
All right, fella Hey, anytime, y'all know that anytime?
Speaker 1 (30:37):

Speaker 6 (31:04):

Speaker 4 (31:08):

Speaker 5 (31:10):

It's time, y'all for Shekel City.
Speaker 2 (31:56):
Welcome to Shekel City, the whole base for Rob Parkers,
Dalley Dicks against the spread.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
All right, here we go. Shekel City off to a
good start in September. I was one and two last night,
so not a great night. But my total, I'm a woman.
It's ten and five. Alex. You can't beat that ten
and five? Are you kidding?
Speaker 4 (32:22):
Fifteen?
Speaker 1 (32:23):
Bet you win ten of them in Vegas terms, you're
cleaning out. I'm cleaning up, no doubt about it. All right,
here we go tonight. My best bet Brewers minus one
and a half. They're at the San Francisco Giants football.
I'm gonna take the Dolphins minus two and a half.
They get off the schneid against the Bouffalo Bills, and
I'm gonna go with the Mariners. They need to win
(32:45):
minus one and a half runs at home against the Padres.
So I got the Mariners minus one and a half,
the Dolphins minus two and a half and the Brewers
minus one and a half. And remember, Alex, I'm not
telling you who to bet on. I'm just telling you
who I bet on, exactly right.
Speaker 4 (33:06):
Thank you, Rob?
Speaker 1 (33:07):
Did you hear that ten and five so far since
we we started the clock in September?
Speaker 4 (33:13):
Did you include the one in four from the Pigs
to pick off? Hello?
Speaker 6 (33:18):
Could I can?
Speaker 4 (33:19):
Hello?
Speaker 11 (33:22):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (33:22):
You can use my four and one? Man, I don't
need it. Kell's not using it and you can't take it,
Rob g Kell. You should be able to use the fourth.
Speaker 6 (33:31):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (33:32):
No, and't I'm about.
Speaker 5 (33:33):
To go five and oh tomorrow I'm gonna put him
in a nine to one. He should do it, but
it's up it's up to him, all right. You got
an interesting take. I think show hal time he's gonna
be the MVP in the National League.
Speaker 4 (33:50):
You what would this be his third?
Speaker 3 (33:51):
Right?
Speaker 6 (33:52):
Yep?
Speaker 4 (33:53):
Wow, you're saying not so fast.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
I think he's gonna win because I do believe Chris
he's gonna get to the fifty fifty. And that's why
I believe he's gonna win. Now, my only thing is
there's never been a DH. Now if he goes fifty
to fifty fifty home run, fifty stone bases.
Speaker 4 (34:11):
It's historic. Okay, it's historic.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
There's no way to discount a Chris pooh pooh it nothing.
I'm telling you he's gonna win. But if you don't,
you leave the door open for people who are looking
at Francisco Lindor and if the Mets are able to
make the playoffs, Chris from where they started, where he started,
(34:35):
what he's been able to do yesterday was another notch
in his cap.
Speaker 4 (34:38):
Remember I mentioned Lindu a couple weeks ago when people thought.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
Craig but Chris. Yesterday, they were getting no hitt in
the ninth inning.
Speaker 4 (34:47):
What do you do? He didn't break up the.
Speaker 1 (34:49):
No it eat a home run, the tide the game,
and break up the no hitting. The Mets win on
the win sixty two in that game against Toronto. So
it's stuff like that that people can look. And Lindor's
not just a good shortstop, Chris, He's a gold glove
shortstop right right.
Speaker 4 (35:07):
So that's all I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
I'm not saying I believe show Hay is going to win,
but I'm telling you there are people out there who
don't buy into that DH thing. That you're not playing
the entire game that there's offense and defense and Lindor
does more and all that.
Speaker 5 (35:26):
Here's the thing, Lindor is hitting two sixty eight. No, Chris,
I got it. I mean, and I get that batting
average isn't quite as important as it used to be,
you know.
Speaker 4 (35:36):
To the analytics guys.
Speaker 1 (35:37):
But people can say that show Hayes not batting three hundred.
He's bating, but two.
Speaker 4 (35:43):
Ninety, that's not on the doudible, you know what I mean.
Speaker 12 (35:46):
And here and show Hey is leading the league in runs,
leading the league in home runs, RBI, slugging percentage, ops
ops plus, and total basis.
Speaker 4 (35:59):
And here's why. And I agree with you.
Speaker 5 (36:02):
I think he'll get He's got like about fifteen games left, right, Yeah,
I think he'll get the fifty to fifty and these
three homers and two stolen base.
Speaker 4 (36:10):
I think he'll get it.
Speaker 1 (36:11):
So it'll wind up being mood, you know what I mean, right,
But I'm just saying if he doesn't, it just leaves
the door open for people to discount the DH and
not play in the field.
Speaker 5 (36:22):
That's fair because it is just a DH. But I
would say this why, I don't even think he needs
the fifty to fifty. I think he'll get it, but
he already robed. And we talked about the stolen bases,
and the bases are bigger and you can only throw
over the first base twice run, but that does make
it easier to steal bases than it used to be.
(36:45):
But here's the deal, that rob There's never been a
fifty forty season, fifty homers, forty steals.
Speaker 4 (36:54):
So forget fifty to fifty. There's never been a fifty
forty year.
Speaker 5 (36:58):
And so show hey, assuming he gets to fifty, we'll
do something no one else done, and you won't be
able to say it's the basis because the guys that
sole forty bases and then hit the homers, they never
could get to fifty at least in that same season.
Speaker 4 (37:15):
And show he already robbed.
Speaker 5 (37:17):
In a season where a guy stole forty or more bases,
he's already hit the most homers. Forty seven. It was
our Finzo Soriano with forty six. Yeah, I think it
was with the yank I think it was with the Yankees,
but it was forty six.
Speaker 4 (37:31):
He was a good Oh yeah he was. He was
really nice.
Speaker 5 (37:35):
And then it was he's got forty eight stolen bases.
No one who's hit forty or more homers. Well, Akunya
have forty one homers and seventy three steals, so he
had the most steals. But I'm just saying, like you
can argue, Show has already done something that no one's done,
(37:55):
which is to have, you know, have the most homers
of any player that stole forty or more PA.
Speaker 1 (38:01):
I get that, Chris, I get that. But there's something
magical about fifty to fifty.
Speaker 7 (38:06):
Yo.
Speaker 4 (38:06):
Yeah, you definitely want it. You definitely want it, and
again I think you'll get it.
Speaker 5 (38:11):
But I agree with that, and you might be right
because there you know, baseball has a lot of traditionalists
and they yeah.
Speaker 1 (38:19):
You say to yourself, think about David Ortiz in his career.
He never won an MVP, right, and good Martinez with
Seattle never won an MVP.
Speaker 5 (38:27):
And it's something to it if you're not playing the field.
I mean, there is a little legitimacy to that. All Right,
we got two hours left, y'all know what to do.
Speaker 4 (38:35):
Lock it
