Speaker 4 (05:01):
My hot dogs were really good New York one hundred
percent beef. They with the with the natural casing, so
they snap when you bid them.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
The New York is in these snaps. You're always talking
about that it's good and it snaps. They got the
hot dog. That's the snap. So anyway, all right, let's
welcome in the act couple of crew. We wouldn't be
able to do this fine radio show without them.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
And of course, Saga is our social media Google Saga,
I can't see me?
Speaker 2 (05:45):

Speaker 1 (05:47):
On the YouTube for the youtubeians racist there?
Speaker 2 (05:52):
I am boy? Look at that? What you mean? I

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Oh we look cute. We got our red all red well,
I got black and red hoodies on. Look at that weird?
Speaker 2 (05:59):
Just what is that saying? Oh? Soul folks, s O
l E though like shoe sole like shot to them.
Speaker 4 (06:05):
I gotta tell you I scored the greatest deal in
the history of mankind today.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
Oh boy, I want to hear it. We're okay real quick.
At what is that? JD You know?
Speaker 4 (06:16):
Yeah, yeah, we get sneakers and all kinds of apparel.
So can you see this?
Speaker 2 (06:20):
We see then Jordan hoodie so you can see the Jordan.
I'm trying to get the.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
I can't see if it's something else below because you yeah,
whatever you're trying to show is we cannot see. All right,
at this point, just stand up. We got to see it.
We're committed to it. Now, stand up, we got to
see it.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
Now.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
Shot to YouTube radio will tell you what it is.
It is a red hoodie. Roger getting mad.
Speaker 4 (06:40):
You see the Jordan with the with the with the
Nike logosh underneath.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
No, I'm gonna say we do, but we don't for
some reason we don't. I don't know if it's like
a six XL and it goes down to your knee.
We can't see it. But Dan get you got the deal?
How much was it? Twenty bucks? Unbelievable Jordan hoodie for
twenty bucks, that's clean, that's clean, unbelievable. So they so
you didn't get a little.
Speaker 4 (07:04):
You know, no, because it cost me sixty five to
get a suitcase back. So that would just defeat the
whole purpose point. All right, It is the odd couple
on this Worship Wednesday. A lot to get to and
we should say that.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
Rob g.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
The odd couple on the YouTube channel. I wanted to say,
first make sure you subscribe. Just search odd couple FSR
on YouTube again, just search odd couple fs R on YouTube.
All right, Uh, Rob G. People are ratting and raving
about Wemby.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
What a setup.
Speaker 6 (07:42):
I better set up for that switch you're wearing. Rob,
For all of seven people watching on YouTube, we got
to talk about that.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
Ah.
Speaker 6 (07:51):
This is a radio medium to talk about sports.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
But it's okay. Look at that.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
Yes, hey, Rob, Rob Parker, tell him, don't act like
our numbers.
Speaker 7 (08:00):
I'll be doing good on socials. Okay, they go see
it back, Rob G. Atlans in Montana. The people watching
on YouTube right now. For any event, Tony Victor wen.
Speaker 6 (08:10):
Banyama had himself a ball game last night in a
pivotal name five.
Speaker 4 (08:14):
Remember the next time you disrespect our numbers, I want
you to show what's your numbers on your podcast.
Speaker 6 (08:20):
Hey, if we go subscriber count versus watchers were Okay,
I'm just saying I get like of our subscribers are
all watching me. I can't say the same thing about
the oticame. But any event, Victor winn Banyama had himself
a ball game game five.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
They win going away.
Speaker 6 (08:35):
There are now three to Weenby finished with twenty seven
seventeen five assists and three blocks.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
Just a monster on both ends of the floor.
Speaker 6 (08:43):
And after the game, Paul Pierce said on his podcast
that Victor winn Banyama, already in his only healthy season,
NBA best player he's ever seen.
Speaker 8 (08:51):
Nicholas this is the best basketball player I've ever seen play.
He is the most complete player we've ever seen.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
Play the game.
Speaker 8 (09:03):
Like we can talk about Brod GEORGEO. He is the
most complete player in the history of the game.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
Like the way he.
Speaker 8 (09:13):
Influences the defense, and he's just then when he turns
it on the offense, and he's just making all kinds
of shots, the type of shots that he's making at
this size, even the ones he missed where he got
foul and they through the love Andy still he almost
made it Like I'm looking like to contort his body
the way he does it at that size, the put
back and one he reaches his hand with the touches,
(09:34):
like all.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
This little stuff. I'm looking at the like the little
things that.
Speaker 8 (09:37):
He's doing as a guy that size, and it's just
like unbelievable.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
And go ahead, right, no, I'm just gonna say, am
I supposed to Paul Pierce, He's the one who doesn't
have Lebron in his top ten.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
I'm supposed to change now sitting around with kg kg
be keeping it real. I think he's changed him a bit.
You sure, because he did.
Speaker 4 (09:57):
I was supposed to listen to his basketball analysis on
other players when he couldn't even keep it real with Lebron.
Now he's gonna tell me Weinby's the greatest whoever.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
He is, mature rob, I'll tell you what I don't.
He's right in a sense that we have, Like we
throw that around a lot. Somebody's a freak, somebody's a unicorn,
somebody's of this. Somebody that we called perzingis a unicorn.
And he was, Wow, he can move pretty well. He
can you know, he can shoot the three.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
He's big.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
Obviously, this is something completely different. And his term complete
player is the scary part because he's only twenty two
and he's already that. Like by now, you could say, oh, Lebron,
we saw what he was gonna be coming. But you
could say he's gotta work on his jump shot, or
he's good defensively, but there's the next level he could
get you.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
And Jordan doesn't make his teammates better at this point,
in his.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Career, he already does all of that, and that's what
makes it scary. So to me, we start having that
conversation of like, well, dang, he's the most complete he's
people are already saying he's the best player in the
league now and he could you know, how many MVPs
will he win? And I think one of the things
I started to think about we had this conversation before too,
and I don't know where you are on it. A
lot of people will gauge the best base simply off
(11:06):
off of rings, like all right, well this person has
x amount of rings in any in any league, you know,
whether it be a quarterback, whether it be an NBA,
that makes him the best. You can't be the best
unless you have six or seven rings in the ABA,
right you gotta.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
That's not how it goes.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
But people aren't gonna people aren't gonna uh say that
a guy who hasn't done anything yet, who's still trying
to get there, didn't even win the you know, like
hasn't won He hadn't he didn't win any awards like
out of the womb that you're going to crown him
as the greatest ever, Like like I just think that
it has more to do with that rather than winning rings.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
He hasn't won anything.
Speaker 4 (11:41):
If they lose this series, people gonna be ranting and
raving in the streets, Oh, Wemby's the greatest player or
ever played.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
No, they won't. I think so, not every yees obviously
what we have. But I'm saying they'll say he's the
best player in the NBA right now, and they'll say.
Speaker 4 (11:54):
Sam Duncan was a hell of a player, right didn't
There's not too many things he didn't do well.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
And I'm talking about for his position.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
Guess what nobody even taught guy won five out of
six championships.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
I don't know what he didn't do. What is he?
Call him the big fundamessage.
Speaker 4 (12:07):
Fund and that and that and nobody and nobody ever
ranted and waved about Tim Duncan. And I'm not saying
that that Wimby can't get there. You know him out
front on the Wimby stuff. But I'm not there like
where everybody just wants to crown people to prematurely.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
And I don't know how to disagree with all.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
Yeah, I don't disagree with the crowd, but I think
what makes him scary is what what Paul was saying,
the completion porsh of it because Tim Duncan, for all
of his greatness, Tim Duncan was a step back hitting threes.
Tim Duncan wasn't grabbing a rebound, bringing the ball up,
passing point guards at seven five seven six, like. It's
freakish and usually we can put holes in a game, right, joker.
(12:47):
As good as he is offensively well, he obviously has
massive limitations defensively and there's things that he can't do
agility wise. He's not athletic like that, right, which was
fine because he's been the best player for the last
handful of years. And you can going down to Luca.
As great as he is offensively scoring, he doesn't play defense,
doesn't get sucked into the hole. He has to have
the ball and say when he can do whatever you want.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
Oh you want me to just have nineteen to night
and nineteen rebounds and ten blocks.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
Cool, I got that all the night. I got a job,
a forty piece. I can do that. You want threes,
you want dunks, you want lamps. That's what I think
you get. The Paul Pierce's and all the old heads,
not even just us, the fans. I'm talking to the
old head players looking atim like I don't know what
I'm watching. I've never seen anything like this. This is
the greatest thing I've ever seen. And when I hear
those guys, you fans can say it because we overreact
(13:34):
all the time, and for the greats to be saying
I don't know what I'm witnessing, this is insane.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
And to me, you have to win championships. You mean
the same grade to Pooh Pooh Lebron, James, those greats, Oh,
don't break up, Paul Pierce in his poo poo Andron
Paul Pierce. It's a lot of it's a lot of
well because they only pooh pool Lebron when we're talking
about the like is it Jordan and Lebron and now
gone poop pool Lebron. But in the top ten, No, no,
they don't.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
I don't have no top being on earth that does
not have Lebron in the top ten.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
There's plenty. There's plenty, Rob g. Do you know a
human being who has those have Lebron in their top ten?
Thank you, Rob? Maybe top three. I would get there.
Oh he ain't in my top three.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
Fine, Martin, you know something about you got somebody who
don't having the top ten.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
Okay, I thought I was going crazy there, but.
Speaker 4 (14:20):
Money Kenny Smith and it was a Kenny or Charles.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
You can go back to the list they updated them.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
Yes, okay, I'm a skip to that name you just said, Martin,
thank you, uh, because we know a game that's being
played right there, no real person living in reality in
the year of twenty twenty six. Our lord, he's got
him at nine. Yeah, yeah, I got Kenny Smith has
me at ten.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
Win.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
That's what That's what I'm trying to tost like. Kenny
Smith has Ron James at ten.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
Yes he does. And you're right away you wanted to
discount me.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
I do want to discount and now I'm about to
discount Kenny. And I love Kenny. Y'all know always say yo,
Kenny won.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
What he does.
Speaker 4 (15:02):
Kenny Smith is great, he want I love this. All
I'm telling you is is just not everybody.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
Wait, Kenny Smith just is saying Alex Hippy with an update.
We just now have breaking news. Kenny Smith now has
him in the top five. Okay, so what do I
gotta wait? Rob g to the end of his game,
he'll put He'll put him in his top three by
the end of his game. Top five is fine if
you want to do that, because he's gonna play homage
to the Wilts and the Bill Russells. I'm okay with that.
I get that. Any My point is Wimby now at
(15:30):
this point obviously got to be healthy. He's got to
continue to dominate's gotta win some things. But my last
point was gonna be and it's kind of I'll say
my point and I'll ask you a question, Rob. I
don't view things as you have to have, for instance,
six or seven rings to be the best. I think
if you can because things are contextualized, meaning if Winby
plays twelve years, because you know after that he justk
he couldn't stay healthy or whatever may be, and he
(15:52):
were to win four in those twelve years and he
did what he did and four or five six times
Defensive Player of the Year and four or five m
vps and all that. To me, you can be the
best ever. And I'm not saying it's currently. What I'm
saying is without have to match the rings. For me,
you don't have to have six or seven or eight
past Jordan.
Speaker 4 (16:07):
I think I think you're discounting when you say that,
it's an insult to Michael Jordan that you think it's
just his rings.
Speaker 9 (16:14):
No, I'm I'm talking about you know, no, But I'm
just talking about the idea you you push Jordan's rings
out there as as that Wimby doesn't have to win six.
Speaker 4 (16:26):
Michael Jordan is the all time leading scorer in the postseason,
averaging over thirty points a game. We could go on
about the defensive awards he made, he won ten times
in a row, the scoring leader, Like his career is
so much bigger than rings.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
When people just say that, I don't think people I'm
with you, and I don't think really know what Michael
Jordan's body of work.
Speaker 4 (16:50):
And if you're telling me, I would take Michael Jordanova
Wimby any day, any any day of the week. Michael
Jordanova Wimby. He's the most complete player I saw Jordan.
I'm not listen. Jordan's Jordan. There's a few people I'll
ever argue.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
With some who would you take Wemby? Complete players? Can
you come as complete win player?
Speaker 4 (17:10):
Is Michael Jordan could play on the defensive end, could
could shoot, could make the big baskets in the big moments.
He did everything. I don't know what he could whatever
you needed him to do, make the right pass in
the right situation. Hey, Steve Kerr, be ready, be wide open,
the balls coming to you. What did he not do?
He did everything you ask.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
As a players.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
This is not a him as much as I've never
seen someone this be seven. Just like we never saw
the two guard be that dominant. It was always about
the big man, and that's what made Jordan's like, wow,
look at this two guard take it over. We've never
seen that before. I've never now, we've never seen Winby
what he's able to do now. Obviously he's got to
do it and do it for ten plus years and win.
But I've like, I don't know where the flaw is
right now in his game. He can hit me at range,
(17:54):
he can hit three, he can spin off, he can shoot,
he can pass, he can defend. It's it's absurd what
we're seeing already at twenty two years old.
Speaker 4 (18:02):
All right eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight
seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Is
Wimby needs six wings to be considered the best and
most complete player in NBA history.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
Who would you take Jordan or Wemby? Just curious? We'll
continue that conversation next with you.
Speaker 4 (18:19):

(20:03):
Uh the idea that Wemby is the most complete player ever?
Speaker 2 (20:08):
Is he not?
Speaker 1 (20:08):
Is he on his way? Is he nowhere near? Is
someone else? Eight seven seven niney nine on Fox? Who
we got Greg and Wichita. You're on the odd couple
of Fox Sportsuadio.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
What's up? Greg?
Speaker 11 (20:18):
Eveding, gentlemen, I gotta go with Rob on this one.
It's too soon to tell a couple of things that
I think concerned me about Wemby is the possible temper
issues and earlier in the year, he was campaigning for
himself to be in.
Speaker 10 (20:36):
That.
Speaker 11 (20:37):
If you ask me, the joy r own Horn is
what killed Lebron. If Lebron had never said anything about
Goat and I'm better than Jordan ever, people would look
at him differently than they do. They just would. He
needs to be careful and act like Duncan and just
go out and play. That's all he's gotta do.
Speaker 4 (20:59):
I love that advice. I love that advice. You don't
need the campaign for anything. People will recognize your talent
all the time. They just will. Eight seven seven ninety
nine Off box, Tony uh In DC, Tony DC, You're
in the couple of box sports radio.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
What's up, Tony?
Speaker 12 (21:17):
Hello?
Speaker 5 (21:17):
Is this thing on the worst? It is his perspective
and Kelvin, my man, you need some perspective.
Speaker 2 (21:26):
Break it down for me.
Speaker 5 (21:27):
Look, Wimby is great defensively okay, But where I think
Paul Pierce makes the mistake is Wimby lets teams off
the hook offensively because he shoots too many threes. This
is the differenstreet him at MJ. I'm just uoing MJ
as an example. MJ always played to his offensive strings.
(21:51):
Can Lee I'm going to dunk on you, dunk on you.
When he got that post game down, I'm gonna put
you in the torture chamber in the post Weinby sometimes
falls in love with the three. He's a great talent,
but we're gonna see if he has the will. He
has the physical attributes, but does he have the mental
will to impose his will on his series is from
(22:16):
here on out and places his offensive strings no matter
what the defense throws at him.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
I love that call, Tony, appreciate the call.
Speaker 4 (22:27):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox and Squeeze one
more end We got time yep, Sean, Sean and Sacramento.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
You're in the odd couple. Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 12 (22:37):
Yeah, old, I'll go from another mother because O kill me.
My brother's behind the board, May real quick loving the
m Drive commercial. Hopefully that's a getting unk all the
way busted up. During his little marathon exercise sessions, he
keeps put all line, Greg Man, look Wemby's feeling, I
ain't gonna out to here what you're talking about? Too
early or too early? I think that just shows you
(22:59):
he has a high. You're sealing the Michael Jordans. I
mean Wenby looks like Jordan at the end of Space Jam,
when he's reaching out and just stretching out, ducking on
all those looney tunes at the very end. So I
think giving his physical attributes, he has a higher ceiling.
But I'm with Uncle on this one.
Speaker 6 (23:14):
Man.
Speaker 12 (23:14):
Jordan was just a killer sixth titles that six tried,
and I think that's something Wenby hasn't reached. It is
that mental toughness that I'm gonna take you. I'm gonna
kill you. I don't care if you rage bade me.
I'm gonna take this rage and turn it into points
and a win. So I'm a to ride with Jordan
on this one. But I hear you, Kelby, give the
man three more years. If it results of at least
two titles, you might have a shot at best of
(23:37):
all times.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
Yeah, I think I know, great point Dre.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
It's just obviously the completion like Jordan's completed, like the
Kobe's completed, shack you know people we put up at
the Greats. I'm going more so on the idea too,
of what Paul Prish was saying. Just when I watch him,
I don't see where like the flaw is all man,
if only he this, if only that In the scary part, I.
Speaker 4 (23:56):
Thought Tony brought up a good point, like who can
stop him? And he might fall in love with the
three and you might realize that, dude, you don't need
to do that. Well Chamberlain, No, I'm just saying, but
Chamberlain does though, or Kareem.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
They just kept doing the same thing. Why because nobody
could stop it. But I think that's what attributes Rob.
I give your sentiment, Hey, you're seven five, go be
seven five. I think we'll make some freakishes.
Speaker 1 (24:19):
He's this guy can grab a rebound, cross up, point
guards and step pop for three, just the same guy
who can set a pick slipping and catching out of
you down low. Like that's what makes some freakish is
he can do all of that, And that's what's scary
about him is the fact that he can pull up
from it. He can hit you with a jump hook,
he can hit you from three, and you're like, my gosh,
you're supposed to have limitations.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
In the same camp, everybody else doesn't think so, so
everybody else doesn't thinks all right, there you have all
three people who call the odd couple just didn't agree
with it. People just it's just premature. I do this,
we do this.
Speaker 4 (24:52):
We do this a lot in sports, and that's where
people push back.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
I will not I completely get it.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
And if you if your argument is ever a guy
named Michael Jordan, I will never have an art. I
will totally get to what you which is somebody saying
on that somebody who people say is his son, there's
something he could do better.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
We'll tell you that right now. Mart Weiss is getting
you up there.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm Eastern,
four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
Thank you, Martin, appreciate it. I Couple Rob Parker Kevin
Washington on a worship Wednesday. Sheckl City on the Way.
Also your tire rec play of the day, And as
Martin was just mentioning, we'll give a little preview of
the Pistons Calves game coming up here shortly, Rob g
the Timberwolves lose me in the they're calling it the
winby revenge game. Winby comes back looks amazing.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
As a matter of fact, he scored what was it
eighteen points in the first period.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
The first quarter? I mean, his dude, we talked about
it moments ago. He's absolutely insane. Anthony Edwards, though, is
he's not detoured by that right now with his team.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
No, he's still feeling confidence. They didn't get this win.
Speaker 6 (26:04):
The problem is you mentioned Victor wayn Beniama seems to
have reached peak wemby already eighteen and six in the
first quarter. He didn't have to do a wholesence, that's
the way, and they just ran going away. They won
by twenty nine points. It is their second straight game.
I believe that they've won by They've won the consecutive
home playoff games by twenty nine points or more for
the first time franchise history.
Speaker 2 (26:23):
So tough sledding right now for at Man and these Wolves.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
You know one thing I want for at Man this offseason.
I think he's I think he's an incredible talent. He
obviously his team has gotten to the Western Conference Finals
and obviously still has a chance.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
Anything can happen in the next couple of games.
Speaker 1 (26:38):
But Rob, you've been covering this league, you know that
since for forty years watching the game, I've been watching
it Rob gu as well, and I've mentioned it before,
the next level for him to really step up and
be that thing for his team. And I think it's
a lot of young players in this league, Rob, and
we talk about it. Maybe it's the AAU, Maybe it's
just the way they're being trained, because everybody has their
own personal trainer growing up now. But they need to
(27:00):
get back to having those set spots on the floor
when it's crunch time. You know, when it's four or
five minutes left in the game, you need a bucket,
you need something to get to. Guys are frantic. It's
chaotic and they and they're all thirty five thirty eight
feet away from the rim and it's high pick and roll.
Speaker 2 (27:17):
And if it didn't work, okay, I gotta back it up.
Can you come give me another pick?
Speaker 1 (27:20):
You come give me another in a frantic Now it's
eight seconds left on the shot clock and it moved.
Didn't work. Now I just throw the ball to a guy.
Teammates's got to chuck it up. And Edwards's next evolution
to his game is being where he knows his sweet spots,
where he can get there where we know, Okay, if
you're his teammates. All right, we're gonna get him the
ball on this elbow or his left wing or the
left hash is where he likes it. And typically he's
(27:40):
gonna do this, which means I'm an back cut here,
or I'm gonna pop up at top of the key
and get his three point shot. That's gonna make the
games a little bit easier for him rob and for
a lot of young guys in the league where it's
not all freestyle, frantic thirty five feet away, high pick
and roll. Let me just I don't know, let me
just add living freestyle it. There's a point in the
game we're all out of breath, We're tired, the season's
(28:02):
been long, we're all winded, guys are broken down, bodies
beat up a little bit where we need to know
this is what you're gonna do. When we just talked
about Jordan, right, you knew Jordan wanted to get on
that elbow and he was gonna be able to get
to a shot or if they doubled, he was gonna
be able. You mentioned it kick it out to curve.
He knew what he was gonna do. Kobe Bryant, you
knew he wanted to get to that sweet spot or
two where he had to move. I'm a face up
(28:23):
the rim, I'm a back them down. Tim duncan give
me on that left block because I can either hit
it off the glass or I can come across the
middle with a sweeping right hook.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
That's when I'm watching at Edwards.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
There are times when like, oh he doesn't he can't
get to the basket or his shot. He can't get
that bucket the way he needs it. So it's kind
of freestyling and you can see his teammates don't know
how to react. They're like what he would have been doing?
Speaker 2 (28:42):
Where we're going? What should I be?
Speaker 1 (28:43):
And I think a lot of young guys could benefit
from having that two or three spots on the floor,
or you know, I want to get the ball here.
You know what I want to do here? You know
I got two or three options from those spots. And
I just watch a lot of games right now, we
talk about it. Jalen Brunton previously to this nice on
It's all frantic, right, Kay Cunningham, he kind of has
(29:04):
more sweet spots than the average, but same thing where
it's like I gotta figure this thing out. Donovan Mitchell
could benefit from that. I think a lot of young
stars should really go back and look at the peak
eight like late eighties, nineties or two thousands, where guys
knew where they wanted to be on the floor. Charles
Barkley knew what side of the block he wanted to
be Onkin knew where he wanted to be. So that
can make it easier for myself and make it easier
(29:25):
for the team. And I see a lot of frantic ball,
a lot of trying to figure this thing out on
the fly, and guys don't know where to be and
they're out of place.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
And I think they could benefit from that.
Speaker 4 (29:36):
Yeah, I hear you. I mean I just I think
he'll look at this season. I don't know, like it
just doesn't seem like that's the way they coach nowadays.
We talked about it with I don't know the Orlando
Magic when they went to.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
Their front point when we did hit that, then.
Speaker 4 (29:55):
Like like there's no play that you have set up,
you know what I mean for a basket where where
we're in the drought and you set up a play
and we don't see that. I don't, I don't. And
then it was the other one who else had a
really bad stretch. You know what, We've seen teams not
(30:15):
score for a long period of time, the Hawks where
they couldn't just the Hawks had it, couldn't get a basket,
like there's no play drawing up, there's no spot for
your your star player, like.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
This is a sweet spot.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
Let's rib with when Bernard King he wanted that left block,
like you know what I mean, Like I'm dude, I'm
I'm five six years old and I was watching you.
He you knew where he wanted. I'm just give me
the ball out here. I'm about to punish somebody.
Speaker 4 (30:43):
And Isaiah at the Cobo Hall, that was incredible.
Speaker 2 (30:48):
I watched that game. I was I think it was
in high school.
Speaker 4 (30:51):
Just to unbelieve the Knicks did not lead that game, Kevin,
I think you know this until they got the last
basket that put him ahead. They never led. The game
was either tied, you know what I mean, or they
were behind. And that was an epic battle. But NOI
King and Isaiah Thomas. That was basketball and Cobo Hall.
Not even the roof had collapse. I think at the
(31:12):
Pontiac Overdome or something, and it was at the smallest
vesue in downtown Detroit.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
It's incredible.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
Yeah, man, I think he went for like fifty six
or something. Zeke went for like forty eight or not.
It was just it was insane. But that's my point.
And I watched sometimes I watch these games, and you know,
you knew where Kobe wanted. I mentioned the Banar king,
you knew where even just like I said a Larry Bird,
everybody kind of had those sweet spots.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
We need a bucket here. We knew where Kareem was
gonna go.
Speaker 1 (31:35):
And I think young guys should kind of take it,
take note of that so that it makes it a
little easier for them. Like you mentioned, Polo Ben Carroll
should have a spot. There's no way Orlando should just
be frantically. Polo should know because especially his big bodied
he likes to post. So this is where I want
to get it. Y'all go over there, they double I
kick it to you, and I want to see more
of that, and I think that's gonna help it as
he continues evolved, he's still very young, still very talented.
(31:58):
He can get better from that. All right, on the
way Shekel City, We'll see how Rob did. Also, your
tirec player. Today, we got a big one coming up
in Detroit. Hosting the cast for Game five. It is
The I Couple on a worship Wednesday, Robin Kelvin Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (32:10):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm Eastern,
four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (32:21):
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
I Couple, Rob Parker Kelvin Washington on a worship Wednesday.
Still not going on next hour. We got Antonio Daniels.
That's right, Ady, gonna join us next hour, looking forward
to that. And that's right, Olden Poloniese. After that final
hour we'll have him jump on as well, so we'll
get some good NBA breakdown.
Speaker 2 (32:43):
What's his name when he was six years old? Was it?
Young Man? Young?
Speaker 1 (32:46):
Young and young and Poloniese so stupid. I'm just saying
with the teenage Poloniese too. Yeah, we'll get to them
in a little bit. Right now, it's time for Shekel City.
Speaker 3 (33:02):
Come Shekel City, the whole base for Rob Parker's Daley
dis against the spread, all.
Speaker 2 (33:13):
Right, two and one last night, one thirty three and.
Speaker 9 (33:17):
One oh three thirty games, over five hundred books of
the spread.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
Nobody had radio history.
Speaker 1 (33:27):
Nobody history. You are a radio fan for decades. That's
a bold statement.
Speaker 2 (33:33):
Brother.
Speaker 4 (33:34):
I'm just saying, all right, here we go. My best bet.
I'm taking the Calves plus four and a half. Cleve
in Detroit against the Pistons. I think they cover, they win,
so they win the game. O plus four and a half.
I got James Harden goes off.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
Oh that's my prediction. James Harden goes off, nodding on.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
I think they're gonna say, Donovan, you can get thirty
thirty five. We ain't lett nobody else. That would be
my approach about JB. Well, but that's the whole point
of it. There you go, all right, all right? Also
some Major League Baseball. I got the Padres plus one
and a half.
Speaker 4 (34:20):
The Padres are in Milwaukee taking on the Brewers.
Speaker 2 (34:25):
So Padres plus.
Speaker 4 (34:26):
One and a half and the Dodgers, who can't win
a game and have lost the first two games of
the series.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
To the Giants, who are really bad. It's really bad.
Speaker 4 (34:34):
But I'm gonna take the Dodgers minus one and a half.
I think Otani's on the mound tonight, isn't oi pitch.
I got actually peat there, I think so so so.
I got the Dodgers minus one and a half hosting
the Giants. I got the Padres plus one and a
half in Milwaukee, and I'm taking the Cavs plus four
and a half in Detroit against the Pistons. And remember,
(34:57):
I'm not telling you.
Speaker 2 (34:59):
Who the bet, I'm telling you WHWHI better? I did
do that. I did do that.
Speaker 1 (35:09):
You know how it goes to get those weird just
slumps in baseball where it could be an individual player.
Speaker 2 (35:14):
He runs in one hundred and thirteen at bats. Who
would have told you that?
Speaker 1 (35:18):
Yeah, dude. By the way, I was looking at Aaron Judge.
I don't know if he's hit one of the last
twenty four hours. I think he was at sixteen or something.
I was like, is that sixteen old?
Speaker 2 (35:24):
Rest? I looked at that the other day and like
I said, maybe I think it was yesterday.
Speaker 4 (35:30):
It's like it's May fourteenth, thirteenth, he's got sixteen.
Speaker 2 (35:34):
And I looked at it and.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
I was like, Oh, they mean like over the months
of May, over his career or something. I'm like, I know,
they don't mean this year my gosh. Yeah, he dude,
he's a hitting machine. And like you always say, I mean,
it's gonna be interesting when it's all sitting down for
him as far as the right hand hitter.
Speaker 4 (35:49):
Like what, yeah, he could wind up being Now, he
got a long way to go, but he could.
Speaker 2 (35:53):
He's on that path and to be doing it.
Speaker 1 (35:55):
And I know this sounds crazy because in real life
I'm looking up just to make sure I'm right about this,
But I was gonna say his age is not he's
not young for you know, he.
Speaker 4 (36:06):
Came up late, came up late. That's the thing that's
incredible about his numbers.
Speaker 2 (36:10):
He's thirty four and I know that's not old and
you're still.
Speaker 4 (36:13):
No, but he didn't come up until six years ago
or six seven years ago, Like that's crazy.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
So yeah, just to see what he's doing at you know,
thirty four, still extremely mobile, still playing.
Speaker 4 (36:23):
You know, I still think the one stat Kelvin seriously,
and we talked about it. If he's the fifty home
runs this year, fifty, No, that'll be five years fifty
or more home runs. Nobody in the history of baseball's
ever done it. Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Barry but nobody
and jump out on a limb, barring injury.
Speaker 2 (36:44):
I think he's gonna do it.
Speaker 1 (36:45):
I mean this just is pretty much mark him down
for high fifties, low sixties.
Speaker 2 (36:49):
At this point every year. So it's been remarkable. But
going back real quick, we got in a couple of
minutes before top of the hour and getting ready for
this game. So you got James Harden going off. I
think this What I mean is I don't expect him
to turn the ball over and have more turn.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
I don't expect forty five give you know what I
mean for him saying he has what twenty four no turnovers?
Speaker 2 (37:09):
Eight he said, doing you know what he's been doing
in Cleveland.
Speaker 4 (37:11):
Just if he plays that kind of game, they have
a great shot to win tonight.
Speaker 2 (37:16):
I really, I just think Kay looks tired to me.
Speaker 4 (37:19):
I'm just that's I'm not saying he looks tired and
I don't know where the rest is coming.
Speaker 1 (37:25):
I'm gonna match your heart and going off because I
think Kate and Donovan are gonna do what they do
and I'm gonna see you at Tobias Harris. I think
he comes back to what he had been for them
when he had that seven game stretch of twenty plus.
I think Tobias Harris at home is gonna make big shots.
Speaker 2 (37:39):
I think he.
Speaker 1 (37:39):
I think he's gonna be that key cock tonight for them,
and you already know on the other end of it
is for me, I Jalen Darren bruh. This just ain't
the playoffs run. So I'm gonna start you to keep
your morale high. But I'm I'm pulling. I'm Paul Reid
Blewyn and whistle. Come on here, Paul Reed, you come in,
get some of these minutes. Green at some of these minutes,
(38:01):
because I can't have you out there. My six foot
ten to eleven, two hundred and sixty five buff guy
getting two rebounds in almost thirty minutes, rob four rebounds
the game before that, I can't. I can't do that.
So if I'm if I'm JB. Bickerstaff, I'm I'm going quickly.
My timeout, whistle is gonna be quick, and my substitutions
are gonna be quick. If I see Jayalen Duran just
(38:22):
out there, just existing, not dominating down low, not blocking shots,
not you know, filing hard.
Speaker 2 (38:29):
Even if I don't see any of that, you gotta go.
Speaker 1 (38:32):
And by the way, speaking of filing hard, I'm gonna
need them to file somebody hard. If Donovan Mitchell tries
to go for forty and a half against to Rob,
y'all better file somebody, dang it.
Speaker 2 (38:41):
That's just ridiculous.
