Just.

Speaker 5 (01:25):
Everything he's driven and then shows up with a brunts
and knick shirts. I just don't get that.

Speaker 6 (01:31):
A conversation weekly where I'm defending the Clippers and he's
talk SMA.

Speaker 5 (01:37):
Weekly them with everything on the way, I will offer
Monti some bail and some grace.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Is because it is a vertically challenged united, like they're
united United. Small man, I was like that not huge,
but that's four eleven just because you're just because you're
three inches shorter than whiny. Look, I was five to nine.
I was five our freshman year.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
In high school.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
So you really don't get it.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
It's not six five at my senior year. But you know,
and then Groogle makes choices three more inches, but.

Speaker 7 (02:13):
That you know, be taller, be taller, choices, just be taller.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
I don't say that. You know the news going to
Turkey getting extra three see you can go get three inch.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Pause.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
That was kind of crazy. I had a pause over here.
Nobody ask you keep it over here. Okay, Alex will
know that. Alex, what do we call you to?

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Rob? You're the what? Oh lord? He he It's okay.
Can we hit the button? Shows are good when I'm here?
Can we hit the button? We're close to Chapman. Pause. No, see,
I told you he owns it. You can't put him
back into Mons knows what it.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Is.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Okay, cool, cool from just don't ron dog me now? Okay,
I don't know. I don't know.

Speaker 8 (03:03):
And so the next topic here, I don't even know
how to respond to that. The next topics nicks nicks.
All right, so check this out. Let's get to this.
There's there's been you, and it's been so long to
be honest with you. You and I'm Rob, and I have
a wing bet on this one. I believe Giannis will
be traded at some point before the season starts.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Yes, he doesn't, We'll see. There's been talks right now.
The latest talk is with Miami. They're saying this some
reports he personally has interested in Miami. Is obviously talking
with Miami. The conversation becomes, what do you have to
give up? Tyler Hero, A couple of other players, and
some picks to get him, so on and so forth.
But that's an interesting one because there's also folks wondering, well,
what was the more likely one prior to say, eight

(03:48):
months ago, Carlthony Town. Yes, so the conversation started to become.
But it seems like a good pick, a good match,
I should say, go ahead.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
But they don't have any fit in the first round
picks because mckil killed.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
So they like, that's crazy.

Speaker 5 (04:03):
That never was a thing that they the Knicks can
could pull off because they don't have the assets outside
of players.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
But but we know somehow things work out three way trades,
you can still make things happen. So the question starts
to be coming, and it's been a little bit of
reporting of what if you would have the idea that
the Knicks have been great this the season they were
the season was good, low, up and down. Maybe they
lost ten straight, they were, they were going through it,
and then they started to get back on track, they

(04:31):
figured out a better offensive scen and then we saw
obviously what they've done in the postseason. Now they're in
the finals, are up to one. But the question becomes
is this team full proof to the sense of let's
say they lose. Let's say they lose tonight. Now it's
two to you go home, the Spurs go home. They
win one. Maybe you win game six, but then you
lose a seven. And sentence on point is, let's say

(04:51):
they lose. Where are you with the idea of we tried,
we were good, we got close. It's time to bring
in up better player y. Nobody would do a dispute.
He's a better player Giannis and make that trade to say, hey,
we tried it with cat and a couple of years
and we got closed.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
But you making that trade.

Speaker 5 (05:10):
If they lose the finals, they are making that or
they're trying to make that trade. They lose these finals,
they're trying to make that trade. Why because teams are
only going to get better. The Celtics will be better,
the Pacers will be better. There'll be less different there.
You say, the Pacers over the Pistons. I'm sorry, I

(05:32):
don't know what, man. The Pistons, you know, and theory
will be better. The Wizards will be better, Orlando Orlando.
So you gotta start thinking, Okay, if we stand pat
do we have enough to do what we just did?
The path will be a little bit different for them.
So you want to get an injection. You want to

(05:54):
be able to you know who. I think what I
would do if if I were Milwaukee, what team you'll
be looking at me? Let me think, give me a
conference Western Conference thunder one thousand percent, give me chet
Hong grin, a bunch of past round for first round

(06:16):
draft picks and one of them other dudes sitting on
and give.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Me one of them solid bench players. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
So I do it in a heartbeat. I said that
when I called him set no check because he ain't
got no h heart.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
That'll change. Oh he'll get better. I mean no, no, no,
I'm saying that'll change.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Okay, See you have to when you have to compete
with what this Spurs. Well, we know the Spurs team
to be and and they're going to get better because
Harrison Barnes won't be there next year. They're going to
do some things to bolster that team, no matter if
they win or lose. So if I'm okay, see, I'm like, okay,

(06:58):
what do we need to do?

Speaker 5 (06:59):
Bring in a Yiannis and getting rid of a couple
of players and those picks that you couldn't possibly use.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
They got two first round draft picks this year. Too
many picks, right, they don't need that much help. But
Ayana's on that team. Brother, we just a whole different.
That's what I would be doing. I said the same thing.
I said it on the air, I said the minute
I saw Check because I'll tell you why I said this,
because you know what Check did when he was at
Gonzaggen when it was crunch time and Turns didn't show up.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
You know what he did, Drew Timmy showed up, ye exactly.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
You know what he did in a couple of the
playoff series it was early in his career against didn't
show up. And then you know what he did last
year in the finals they won, he didn't show up
twenty percent from three I think it was twelve.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
A game like this is supposed to be an all
NBA caliber.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
Guy, right, you know what he didn't do when they
needed the most show up versus the Spurs. So my
point is I've seen enough where I'm not saying you're
gonna a quality player, good player in this league. You
don't show up for me to go like j dub
you go, Nana. I'm straight, he's he's hungry. I'm good
I'm good. I would give rid of chat and I

(08:06):
like him, but he can go to Yeah, yeah, I
can find it. Yeah, if you're not going to get
a package like that from any other team, good player
coming back and Chad the role player, and the other
Jay Williams and some picks, and no one has that
to offer, and your fans can say, I see what
we're doing. I'll stall it. I'm okay for a couple
of years of a rebuild your fans. You got him
a ring a few years ago, you'll be right. But

(08:27):
bringing it back to the Knicks, I the struggle I
would have with it is why I wouldn't do it,
is because I think Giannie is a better player, but
he's not as versatile as Cat. And that's to me
what makes this, what makes Cat for me interesting with
this team, Giannis is kind of a one trick pony,

(08:47):
and when the pony is tricking, can't stop, you can't
stop it.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
I agree Kareem was the one trick pony to thirty
eight thousand tricks.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
But here's the and he needed help and he got
he got with magic and then he went.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
On the right.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
Remember he won, he didn't he did win, but that
was like eight years later until he was nine years later.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
They did something. But look, Giannis is the better player.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
But also my concern Giannis has become injury prone the
last two three years. And also it's strange, as great
as he is, and you you know this, Leiley, we're
starting to give these guys these all time great these
multiple MVP guys like he, he and Joker have more
than Kobe in Shack, which is crazy, but they're not

(09:25):
as dependable. You get what I'm saying, Like Joker losing
to a car A, a Anthony Edwards list, He's in
and out of the lineup Minnesota team. He would be
blasted in you know, ten years ago twelve if it
was an MVP. Gianna's being an MVP arguably best top one,
two three player in the league, never really being a

(09:46):
threat in the postseason other than the year he won it.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
Like he's not a threat, Ephim. That is concerning to me.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
You get what I'm saying, Like, because guys the Kobe's,
the Lebron's, the Stell, like the those guys, the Shacks,
the King, they were threats year in year out. He's
MVP losing first, Oh, Gay lose maybe the second round.
They don't even sniff the Western Conference regularly, let alone
the finals.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
Got forbid.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
I'm not even saying you gotta win it, but you
got there. Man, he's three, he should have four me piece,
so he would be a four time MVP winner who
doesn't even get out of nowhere in the playoffs. So
I don't know what's going on with these guys. And
that's why I get to Giannest, what's going on that
you're not that effective? And Dragon, I'm not even saying
you gotta be in the final. You can't drag your
team to the Eastern Conference finals. You're that great. You're
the won two, three, four best player in the league.

(10:30):
So I would be concerned with that. And also like
Karl Anthony Towns Versatiley now, his motor drives me up insane.
Sometimes there's nights where I gotta go, hello, hello you there, Cat,
Cat focus, focus, focus. You don't have to do that
with you, honest, But I think I'm steven if they lose,
I'm tightening up, finding this, you know, a piece here
or there, and I'm running it back with this team.

(10:52):
We're veteran, we've gotten better, We're right there. We would
have in this this scenario losing a game seven or so,
game six or seven, and I'm saying we're running back.
We're gonna get a couple of improvements off the bench.
Maybe I don't know, you know, makes it gets better.
Maybe there's a small, you know, minute trade to be had,
but I'm running it back. I don't think that Yannis
necessarily would fit what they're trying to do, and I

(11:14):
don't know where he fits the thunder I agree, I
do agree with that.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
So you don't think Yannis onto the compo fits with
the Knicks.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
I don't know the versatility, meaning like if if Brunton
is the guy, can Yannis do more? Like is he
gonna accept another role? Whereas Carlton Towns could be the
best player of the night.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
We can second throw the ball to Yanni's.

Speaker 5 (11:44):
And get out of the way because you can't stay
in front of him and you can't stop him from
getting to his spot.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
But if I make him shoot, and that's been the issue,
If I make him have to shoot.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
Free, that's when you have Brunton is closing.

Speaker 5 (11:59):
That's what that's how you that's how you play off
each other, right, Like it's it's if you close out
on them, are you back up off of them?

Speaker 3 (12:10):
You swing it?

Speaker 5 (12:11):
He says that the high screening roll between Brunton and
no Yannis, it's unstoppable. Bro, It's nothing you can do
to stop it. It's nothing you can do to stop it.
So here, so here's here's so we'll leave it there.
If we're playing hypothetical Giannis, the reports are then Miami's interested,

(12:32):
some other teams are interested.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
They're fielding calls. I have him leaving at some point.
Me and Rob have a bet, he says, No. I say, yes,
we had little wings bet on that you, I believe
are saying he's gone at some point as well.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
Wherever it may be, we don't know.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
But if the Knicks word somehow to lose, would you
explore the Carl Anthony Towns trade that everybody was thinking
about for the last year, or would you say running Back,
we got to the finals, we were within the game
and winning this thing. Running Back eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
We're gonna get these phone calls from you. Yeah, what

(13:03):
are you doing right there?

Speaker 3 (13:05):
Right now?

Speaker 9 (13:05):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (13:05):
You're talking to Ephraim, not me. I'm thinking you're talking
to you here to eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
Would you trade him if they were to lose this series?
Are you back into Gianna swift Stakes or do you
say no, We're good. We're gonna run it back and
see what we can do. We want to hear from you.
It's the Yacht Couple on a worship Wednesday E from
his end for Rob kelvin Washington. Don't forget Michael Thompson
coming up in about fifteen minutes as well. It's the

(13:26):
Ya Couple Fox Sports Radio. But before that, I got
to tell you about Calshi. I've been informing you and

and you can trade the entire tournament on CALSI and
on Calshi you can trade every match for the opening
stage all the way to the final. You know me, listen,
I love Paris, have been there, beautiful place me and
my wife have gone. And I love the Eiffel Tower.

(13:47):
You know all the French things. They got great food
out there, French champagne. But check this out. With that
in mind, I'm thinking you might want to think about
this one France currently trading at sixteen percent to win
it all, meaning go one hundred dollars trade pays out
over six six hundred dollars if they win soccer's biggest prize. Now,
France is loaded with top end talent, and I gotta
think they got a chance to win it all this year.

(14:07):
So caush listen. You're gonna be trading against peers in
a live market, meaning there's no house and as the
probability changes, you can buy in and out of your position.
So for a limited time, download the Calshi app and
use code odd odd to get ten dollars when you
trade ten. That's Caushi ka l Shi Caushi trade on anything.

Speaker 10 (14:26):
Restrictions and eligibility apply. Not available in all states. It
must be eighteen plus. Trading involve significant risk. Consider if
it's approriate for your financial circumstances. Prices and value may difference.

Let's give this part. You're listening to Fox Sports.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
Radio from I do want to ask you this real quick?
A couple rob Parkers out. We got my man he
Frami with me kelvin Washington on a worship Wednesday. By
the way, for over forty years, Tyreck's been helping customers
find the right tires for how for one, for where
they drive ship fast and free back by free road
has a protection and of course with convenient installation options

(15:39):
like mobile tire installation tire reck dot com the way
tire buying should be. Craig can't wait to talk to
Michael Thompson a little bit. Uh Grand Slam by the way,
Dodgers six to one over the uh Pirates right now, Man,
they're kicking their butt the last couple games. Think they
had like ten runs at seven in the second?

Speaker 3 (15:56):
Was it seventh in? So good?

Speaker 2 (15:58):
Yeah, they're on fire right now. I want to ask
you this the show they're showing the kind of the
tip off getting ready for the game, and they're showing
us some celebrities. It's New York. You and I and
Rob even talked about it yesterday. Just I felt and
I believe you agreed that the Knicks they felt like
the Tents team. They felt the pressure of the whole city.

(16:19):
It's been thirty, you know, twenty some years since we
blend in the finals game, it's been fifty three years
since we won one, and just all of that. They
felt tight that first quarter. What's it like in the
NBA is different because they're on you. The celebrities are
right literally you can dive in their laps trying to
save a ball.

Speaker 3 (16:37):
But how does that feel?

Speaker 2 (16:38):
And I know maybe it maybe it wasn't apples apples
in the NFL because you know the distance between you,
the distance is a big thing. But what do you
think that's like? You know, was it for you just
maybe even when you were playing ball collegiately, like just
that feel of like do you do you lie to yourself?
It doesn't matter, do you get used to it? Is
it always a big deal. Walk me through that.

Speaker 5 (16:56):
The thing about football and the difference between football ball
in basketball number one arena size, we don't have any there.
You can't get to me right.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
You can scream from behind the bench and do it
all of that, but there is no real interaction or
shouldn't be interaction between UH players and fans and football.

Speaker 3 (17:16):
Our biggest thing.

Speaker 5 (17:17):
Is when you're on the road, the noise, because everything
is verbal communication for us, and when you're in a
stadium where you can't hear anything. That's the difficulty of that.
And being in a game where offensively it's eleven of us.
All eleven have to be on the same page. If
one is off or reading another book, then everything is off.

(17:41):
So there's a hyper focus there. And in the NBA,
one guy can get into a zone and I mean
getting like a mental zone or lock in and save
the entire team. We've seen Brount to do. One guy
can just be like I got it. And football there
is no I got it guy. Quarterback. If he's throwing

(18:04):
dimes and he's those two minute drives and they're driving
down to score, those are five guys in front giving
everything they have for that moment to happen. And if
those guys I've been on that line. I know I've
been the guy who didn't. My second year, I think
we're driving down and gave up a sack, fumbled. Game

(18:26):
is over like it if everyone's not on point, it's
not working. In the NBA, Kobe can take it, get
out the way, Jordan can take it. Get out the way, Brunson,
get out the way Victor right the Lebron. That's the difference.
So when you're compartmentalize the elements right.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
The thing I.

Speaker 5 (18:49):
Loved about Jordan and Kobe and that mentality that they had,
even Magic had this, Wimby has it right. I think
the world's getting a chance to see who wouldn't be
is and mentally the mentality he's playing.

Speaker 3 (19:05):
Don't let that nice call to me. Bro.

Speaker 5 (19:08):
He is a dog like he hasn't. And that's what
I was saying earlier. His team is, he's leading them,
they're following his lead. You can't be a dog or
not be a dog and being there trying to be
with like, you know, fight. So I just think in
basketball a player can shoot you in or out of it.

Speaker 3 (19:32):
Ask James Harden this real this real talk, right.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
So so I'm looking at because I'm looking at again,
the impetus is just looking at this, uh this Nick crowd.
I mean it is crazy. It was too big Game three,
it was too much. The President was there, they got
the tickets work out of control, had to be there
three much and the players felt that it was very,

(20:01):
very tense. I told you what, I know what I
felt about. Uh, Taylor Brunton wanted to show out in front.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
Of the guarden. You you already know. You score forty
to fifty in the garden. Man, you're immortal.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
You win Game three of the NBA Finals putting up forty,
the president and.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
All just all this. You are the finals MVP. Well
he didn't do it.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
They lost. They kept it close with step shot out.
We haven't given credit. All the games have been close.
Stefan Castle brother he three to put the back up
five with Harper about Minnesota. Harper and I'm I'm a
Laker fan and I'm watching Spurs like damn, because you're
all listen, we all see what the Spurs about that. Oh,

(20:45):
the Spurs and the Thunder are basically telling the Western
Conference step your game because its great. As the Spurs
are right now the Thunder at home saying, if we
had Jay Dubb that was supposed to be us. He
only played fifty I'm not saying it, but I'm saying
that's what the yourselves. Yes, I believe it would have been.
I believe fifty three minutes is all he played that
whole seven game Series three.

Speaker 5 (21:05):
I picked the Spurs back in February to win it all. Yeah,
so i've they're just a better team. I thought the
Thunder again j Doub. But my point is they're saying, hey,
we got j Doub. It's a difficit. The Spurs are saying, hey,
this is you catching us in our early twenties. Right
what you think is gonna be as the years for
resident the rest of the Western Conference.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
If you're the Lakers who feel like they might have missed.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
The boat, I'm out, as Michael Thompson, I'll do this
all right, Michael Thompson on the other side, right now,
Manci Belanos Millennials, I have.

Speaker 12 (21:37):
An update on your question about the fans outside of
Madison Square Garden because all the thousand people you said, right,
apparently Dolan the owner what's his first ye, James Dolan.
That guy apparently he stopped it from the thousand fans,
and he claimed that it was because it wasn't for everybody,
that it was too limited. So not even the thousand
fans are going to be able to watch outside of

(22:00):
Madison Square Garden.

Speaker 4 (22:03):
Party, not outside of Madison Square Garden.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
What's the point?

Speaker 4 (22:06):
Exactly exactly.

Speaker 13 (22:07):
But he stopped it, so it was a proof for
nine hundred and ninety nine fans, and he stopped it
because he said it wasn't for everybody.

Speaker 4 (22:15):
It was.

Speaker 2 (22:15):
That doesn't help It sounds like if everybody came, so
it was it.

Speaker 3 (22:20):
If we can't help it for everybody, we can't have
it for nobody.

Speaker 4 (22:22):
Yeah, that's that's kind of what he said. Makes no sense. No,
you really can't. But that game is about to tip off.

Speaker 13 (22:28):
We'll see if the Knicks extend they're leading the series
three to one, or if the Spurs tied the tie
the series at Madison Square Garden and other news and
sports will start in baseball, where the Orioles lead the
Mariners right now three zero, bottom of the seventh inning.
Pete Alonso started things off for Baltimore with the home
run all Marlins against the Diamondbacks eight zero bottom of
the sixth inning about to start in Miami, Ryan Ward

(22:50):
with a grand slam.

Speaker 4 (22:51):
For the Dodgers. They lead the Pirates six to one.

Speaker 13 (22:53):
Bottom of the sixth In Pittsburgh, Twins are edging the
Tigers in Detroit one zero after two innings. All Phillies
against the Bluejays, It's six to zero. Top of the
fifth inning. Kyle Schwarber with his twenty fourth home run
of the season. The Cardinals are blanking the Mets seven zero,
bottom of the fourth there and the Royals lead the
Rangers one zero after three innings. And the found news
for you as the Chiefs and quarterback Patrick Mahomes have

(23:14):
extended his contract by two years, so his deal is
now worth five hundred and four point seventy five million.
It goes through twenty thirty three. In twenty twenty seven,
his average annual salary is going to be sixty four million,
the highest for any player in NFL history.

Speaker 4 (23:28):
Colds wide receiver.

Speaker 6 (23:29):
Alec Pierce can miss parts of training camp and maybe
more as he continues to rehab from off season ankle
surgery that he had in March. Green Bay Packers tied
end Tucker Kraft says he's going to be playing in
Week one against Minnesota as he tries to return from
a torn.

Speaker 12 (23:43):
ACL Back to you guys, all right, Monsei, yes.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
Thank you, Yes, it is the odd couple. Kelvin Washington.
We got Ef salam housein for Rob on this worship Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
One's gotta go on the way. I think you're like this, Alex.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
They gotta come talk to you, gotta we gotta record
something after this next break.

Speaker 3 (23:59):
But join out by our man Michael.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
Thompson, two time NBA champion, Lakers radio analysts Champagne and nuts.
If you want to follow him, all shut up in advance.
If you want to follow him on X Michael, what's up?

Speaker 9 (24:13):
Man?

Speaker 3 (24:13):
How are you going to talk to you? Guys?

Speaker 9 (24:15):
Not excited? And I just hope my Spurs can win
the extend the series again tonight.

Speaker 3 (24:19):
Okay, well, hold on, way, what is this? Mine? What?
What is this? My Spurs? Can you elaborate? Please?

Speaker 9 (24:25):
I love this team, man, they are they are they
are so good, so young. I love Rembley, the new
face of the NBA, and I want to I want
them to put their stamp on the league this year
as NBA champions because they are going to be around
for the next fifteen years, well as young as and
didn't they are.

Speaker 5 (24:41):
Let me let me ask you to that point, what
is it about this team? What do you see in
this team? The youth, but the tenacity that what do
you see that that has you know, is taken the
league by storm.

Speaker 9 (24:54):
They're fairless, they are not intimidated by anybody. In spite
of their youth, They're not afraid to compete every night,
especially Stefan Castle, he says the tone Billan Harper man,
Ron Harper short taught that boy how to compete because
obviously Ron Harper competed in one of the greatest competitors
in the world, next to Michael Jordan and of course
Kobe Bryant. So I'm sure he passed along those stories

(25:15):
about those two guys, about how those guys competed, also
Ron himself. So when you see these young boys go
out there, and now Vic gulbn Benyama has the same
type of Kobe mentality. All he cares about his winning. Man,
I just love how mature they offer their age.

Speaker 3 (25:29):
That is true.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
I mean, you're your best players twenty two, twenty one,
and twenty and here you are just down one game
in the NBA Finals. Would you would think, you say,
this is what I was banking on, Michael, I picked
the Knicks just simply based off the Spurs are incredible.
But I'm like the NBA history, they're just too young.
They can be changing history. I wanted to ask you this.
I asked Ethan this. You played in La, of course,
with the Lakers in the peak, like the heyday of

(25:50):
the eighties, Showtime, Lakers, Magic, yourself Worthy, the whole nine
cap as well. That was when La was La in right,
celebrities everywhere. I said, maybe that rivals what we saw
in the Knicks in Game three? How did you compartmentalize that?
Or maybe it didn't? Did it when you first felt
that because that was the first game the Knicks were

(26:11):
in the finals at home, the whole city's on you,
all the pressure haven't won in fifty three years. President
Trump is there. I mean, that would have been a lot.
How would you have handled that when you were playing?

Speaker 9 (26:22):
Oh you kidding you guys, typical media people. You all,
you guys are overreacting. That's the standard game for the Lakers.
All the celebrities you saw, Dan, you you can come
to a Laker game player Charlotte, and you have those
type of celebrities of their game. And then of course
when the big teams come in, when Janni's or Step
or the Knicks come in, or you know, Webby comes in,
then the celebrities come out even more than what you

(26:42):
saw in New York the other night. So, and the
tickets don't cost fifty thousand dollars to get in for
some people. So what they saw in New York was great.
It's great to see all the famous people there and
enjoying the show. But that's standard, that's routine in LA
when the Lakers are a Laker game.

Speaker 5 (26:56):
I was telling him, Michael Jackson used to be at
the Laker game. What are we talking about here?

Speaker 2 (27:01):
First of all, both of you, are I agree with
you in the age it does at right now? No,
you there is not a Laker game like what we
just saw.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
Are you kidding me?

Speaker 9 (27:12):
They're off just about us. Say the forty one games,
I would say, as many celebrities at that game game
to game three, I would say, out of forty one
home games with the Lakers, twenty five games are like that.

Speaker 3 (27:24):
We were in regular games, just so you know.

Speaker 9 (27:27):
Regular games, regular season games, and when the playoffs starts,
that's when they really show up. So what you saw
in New York City, they have had a massive guard.
It's cool and I'm not underplaying it, but that's the
Lakers that you are under play.

Speaker 3 (27:38):
But we appreciate how you are. Michael. Let's talk about
the Lakers.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
Let's talk about what they when you're watching the Spurs,
when you saw that that series the Western Conference Finals
with the Thunder and the Spurs, and then you look
at the Lakers, what do the Lakers need to do
this offseason to compete?

Speaker 9 (27:58):
We got to play better detail. So obviously they got
a revamp their roster. I'm sure they'll bring Lebron back,
Austin Reeves will be back, but they got to get
some guys who on the wing who can compete and
defend the way the Thunder and the Spurs defend. Now
who they are, we don't know. That's their their job
to put together those type of players to bring them in.
But they got to bring in wing defenders who can
go out there and compete on the defensive end like

(28:19):
the Spurs and the Thunder do. And you know, even
though I love the Spurs and the fact that they're
there and they're doing it. They wouldn't have been in
the finals to the Thunder with healthy.

Speaker 3 (28:26):
That's what That's what I said.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
I thought Jaylen Williams being out only playing fifty three
minutes or so that whole series was the difference.

Speaker 9 (28:33):
And don't forget aj Mitchell. He was the best player
against the Lakers in the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (28:37):
Well, you know, stay with Ethan and I were talking
about this, the Lakers. You could go Houston, you could
go Denver. I mean, there are a bunch of teams
who thought, oh man, we got a window. Now we
got some players. If you the Lakers, okay, we got
we got Reeves and Luca And does everybody all notice now.

Speaker 3 (28:53):
Like, well, we gave it a shot.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
Because this is the Spurs and thunder League for the
next four or five years, and maybe Boston does a
right move and they're right back in it. You know,
obviously I love the Pistons to be but I don't
know if they're on this caliber.

Speaker 3 (29:06):
So is how do you.

Speaker 2 (29:08):
Look at this if you're any other team and not
think it's the Spurs or Thunders to be had for
the next halful of years.

Speaker 9 (29:14):
Yeah, they're the standard Obviously the Knicks have them to
say about it because they're up too to one, right,
and they this year, so they better win it this
year because this is the thunder are gonna learn the
Spurs gonna learn from this experience and only get better.

Speaker 3 (29:25):
This thing.

Speaker 9 (29:26):
This is the this is the worst we're gonna see Harper,
Castle and Wendy played this season. That's how much better
they're gonna be get year in and year out. So
the league is unnoticed. The championship maybe after this year,
is gonna have to go through San Antonio or Oklahoma
City for the next decade.

Speaker 5 (29:41):
Let me let me ask you this about the Knicks.
If the Knicks and the San Antonio comes back and
wins this series, and and and San Antonio are the
NBA champions, what do the Knicks do?

Speaker 3 (29:54):
Do they go after Giannis? Do they make changes?

Speaker 5 (29:57):
What do you see the Knicks doing if they do
give up this lead and lose the finals?

Speaker 9 (30:03):
Yeah, that's a great question. If they lose. If they
win the finals, you bring the same guys back next year.
But you're right, if they blow this, I will go
ahead and get Giannest because you need somebody who is
not going to be afraid to compete against Webby, and
Giannis would not back down against Webby.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
Yeah, we agree on that he doesn't.

Speaker 2 (30:20):
He has that competitive edge that sometimes Carly Towns it disappears,
and that's kind of been the knock throughout his career
that you question where it is.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
I want to bring it back to the Lakers.

Speaker 2 (30:29):
And by the way, Michael Thompson on with the id
couple Kelvin Washington, he for Slama to worship Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (30:34):
Where are we with Lebron? For you bring them back?
Time to move on?

Speaker 2 (30:39):
You know, I mean because a lot of people are
you know, Austin you got to figure out what you're
gonna do with Austin Reeves.

Speaker 3 (30:43):
Where are you as far as do you like the three?

Speaker 2 (30:45):
If you want to call it headed monster and run
it back and see what you got, or are you saying, hey,
maybe it's trying to just have two of the three.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
Whoever it may be, No.

Speaker 9 (30:53):
Bring Lebron back, because when Luca and Austin Reeves were healthy,
Lebron was the third auction. So he was able to
pay himself and can serve a lot of energy because
he didn't have to worry about carrying the team.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
Every night.

Speaker 9 (31:04):
He could let Luca and Austin Reeves carry the heavy
load and then Lebron to take his spots. So coming
back at forty two years of age in December, being
the third the option on the team will help preserve
his energy and you know, making making less stress on
his body. So I think coming back with Weeves and
Luca being the number one or two options is the better,
better solution, better situation for Lebron and going anywhere else.

Speaker 5 (31:26):
What and what do those contracts look like? Is Lebron
on a team friendly deal or is Austin Reeves on
the team friendly deal? Because if those two guys maximize
their their they're worth, we don't have any and I
say week because I'm all Lakers, we don't have any
room to add other pieces to that roster that we

(31:47):
desperately need.

Speaker 9 (31:48):
Yeah, I think Austin Austin is the dude to make
forty eight man on a max deal forty eight man
a year. Lebron could obviously making fifty something there, but
I think they both are going to take a little
bit less, a little bit less to make the salaries
structure work for the Lakers. How much less, I don't know,
obviously Austin's gonna get a huge raise. Lebron might take
a little take cut, but just so you know, maybe

(32:10):
you'll have to try to survive on thirty five to
thirty seven, man, and.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
A hard life is hard. Michael, Yeah, all right, we'll
get you out of here on this one.

Speaker 3 (32:20):
Game four.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
We're half full of minutes away from tip off. Who
you got in this one?

Speaker 9 (32:24):
I would be shocked if the Knicks loose tonight. This
is desperate desperation time for them, even though if they
lost will only be two two. But whoever wins this
game tonight is going to win the championship. The Knicks, no,
they have to go back to San Antonio up three one.
And of course the Spurs know if we lose tonight,
I can't see them beating the Knicks here in game
six when it comes down to that. So tonight I

(32:46):
think it's the Knicks are gonna be the more desperate team.

Speaker 2 (32:48):
All right, We'll have to wait and see. That's why
they play the games. Michael, Thank you, man, thanks you
for all the best.

Speaker 3 (32:52):
Of the family.

Speaker 9 (32:53):
All right, boys, good to talk to you.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
Absolutely one of the best right there. Michael Thompson Raidy

can attest just a good dude man, great hilarious, funny,
good dude man, great family. All right, on the way,

you love music too, So I think you'll enjoy We're

few minutes ago the national anthem. That's the little clue.

Speaker 3 (33:18):
I'll give you. One's got to go. As next as

The Pro the Week goes to White Sox rookie Brandon Montgomery.
He had a two run walk off home run in
the MLB debut last night, so again, now that makes sense.

Speaker 3 (34:15):
While he was going crazy on that home run.

Speaker 2 (34:17):
Call congratulated Montgomery for being our Express Pro of the Week.
All right, so let's get to this. It is now
time for ones. Got to go crow.

Speaker 8 (34:28):
Funny even number, figure it out.

Speaker 2 (34:32):
Hear me out, Moncey Brandon, Elijah, Alex Infram, my dad,
go self, here we go.

Speaker 3 (34:39):
All right.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
So I got to thinking, Monty, turn my head around
real quick. I got to think, and I said to myself.
I said to myself, you know what, self, self, part
of the NBA pageantry at any sporting event, of course,
is the national anthem. And I said, what about some
great ones that have happened throughout history. Fergie, just speak,

(35:01):
you ask, you shall receive.

Speaker 3 (35:04):
Hit me a little bit more than Alex.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
Players reactions, Oh many, Steph Draymond. And the best part
of it is too shout out to Swaye, the remix guy,
when he turned it into a no No, they put
the dances to it.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
Oh that's amazing.

Speaker 2 (35:24):
So no not Fergie shot to Fergy though that was.
We appreciate that one. We got some really good ones
and one's gotta go. It's gonna be tough, guys, all right,
So Alex hit us with anyone you want, and I'll
kind of tell who it was and what.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
Stop.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
Lady, lady, gotta okay for time safe. We're gonna get
you a few seconds, just.

Speaker 5 (35:53):
For two fouls early fouls called Anthony Towns. He's on
the bench.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
Oh gosh, okay, all right, lady, God God will keep
you op there. Scoring am all right? Now give me
with another one. Okay, we look biased like that ain't
going nowhere.

Speaker 3 (36:18):
It ain't going nowhere. MARVII gay Monty. I think we
snitched on ourselves with that.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
Good look Marvin Gaye, one of the epic ones of
the NBA All Star Weekend back in the eighties.

Speaker 14 (36:26):
Next act, where do that?

Speaker 3 (36:39):
Once she start going? But that wasn't even a good part.
That's why I said, once she started going? All right?
So when do you Houston?

Speaker 2 (36:44):
We know at the Super Bowl I believe it was
ninety ninety or ninety one.

Speaker 3 (36:48):
All right? And what else we got?

Speaker 2 (36:54):
Jimmy you know me on YouTube and you see our bias.

Speaker 3 (37:10):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (37:12):
You clearly didn't do all that for Lady got Hey
Man last but not least Christ all right, there you
have it, Marvin Gay, Whitney, Lady God God, Chris Stapleton,

(37:35):
Who am I missing?

Speaker 3 (37:37):
Marn Gay Whitney, Jimmy Hendris, Jimmy Hendriss, and Fergie. Okay,
Fergy is at it? We know that, all right? Who
you got five? You can go? No, no, no, no, I'm
gonna let guest first. I'm not a guest.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
No no, he's gotten the couch we already discussed. He's
got a Manzi Brandon.

Speaker 3 (37:55):
I hate it. I hate it.

Speaker 4 (37:56):
It's Lady Ghana. I don't know why I hate it. Sorry.

Speaker 13 (38:00):
There's something about the rest of them sounds so slightly
different and.

Speaker 4 (38:03):
Is incredible, incredible.

Speaker 13 (38:06):
But out of the ones we just heard, like even
Chris Stapleton gave me with his raspy work, it was
so good, it has to be out of those, it
has to be Lady Gaga Brandon.

Speaker 7 (38:17):
It's easily Lady Gaga only it's particularly close Alex Marvin
Gaye bro.

Speaker 3 (38:24):
This not even I'll tell you why racist? Because where's
where's the.

Speaker 2 (38:30):
Why? Racist?

Speaker 7 (38:31):
The simple The crew he had was terrible. The music
was louder than him. I could barely hear his time.

Speaker 3 (38:39):
Engineered. Yes, Elijah, come to the mic for me.

Speaker 7 (38:48):
Because it was Broadway, more Broadway, not.

Speaker 3 (38:54):
Racist like Whitney's.

Speaker 2 (38:55):
Sadney was out of this world. Jimmy is the most
creative thing we have, no one ever and so was
Marvin Gay. Nobody ever broke it down. So Marvin Gate Jackson,
who were you?

Speaker 1 (39:07):
Lady?

Speaker 3 (39:07):
Guy got by.

Speaker 7 (39:11):
The crowd.

Speaker 3 (39:20):
He's missing it. Do you know why the crowd was
doing that? You know how it's normally.

Speaker 2 (39:25):
Just silent and you just because it was a move
get to your It was like in thek I said,
racist lady, bye bye. Okay, come on now that Marvin
Gay bro that you want to talk about burn the
house down, Whitney Houston. We had never heard anyone do

(39:47):
it like Marvin Gay. Well, Jimmy Hendrick switched it up
to it was a club. You were in the club,
so you get out some way in on social media
on that Marvin Gay can't go nowhere, You going somewhere
