talking about this back their year. Pablo Tory ain't playing around.
So Pablo Tory finds out his podcast on the latest
episode there that apparently that aspiration deal that Kawhi was
you know, had allegedly isn't the only one. So scoreboard

manufacturer Daktronics, they built that one hundred million dollar video boards.
By the way, I still haven't been to the into
a dome. I know you've been there a handful of times.
The clip into it just spectacular, like, well, so the
company that built all those screens in there, and they
had apparently hired Kawhi to a multimillion dollar sponsorship deal

for which he has done, of course, no work, And
that is according to Pablo Tory, And of course he
has some sources. One at a high level source set
under contract for into a Dome went on to say
that he's a thousand percent sure that they were circumventing
the salary cap when it comes to this. So people
with it, yeah, and they went on to say real

quick that they're not a company that you would see
a celebrity endorser for.

It wasn't coming out on their end.

The Clippers were technically kind of funding it, and it
was funneling money from the Clippers to Daktronics back to Kawhi.

Yeah, are you on this because you know where I'm
going to make my deal. You know where you are,
and I rather hear you get where you are.

My main issue is just a little bit the contrast
that I think of where you're gonna go is if
you're Adam Silver and the whole point of the collective
bargaining agreement. Right, you get to the owners, you get
the players, they all come together and we all agree.
You'll say, all right, we all agree on this. This
certain amount of money, certain amount of dollars is what
you have to spend. Think it's like nearly two hundred

million or whatever it is. And here are the rules.
Here's what you can do, here's what you can't do.
And the point is to make it fair for all team.
So everybody's on the up and up, and they all
have a chance to compete, and so you have teams
that are circumventing that.

And to me, this is where I have issue with Kawhi.

If this was just a scenario where he said, hey,
I'm Clippers want to come back to LA and from Riverside,
which is, you know, right outside of LA and it
helped me out and now I will figure it out.
Let's get you there, and oh, we all we got
this thing some endorsement, and Kawhi is just kind of oh,
I don't know.

Dennis, specifically Uncle Dennis when you go back to the Raptors,
try to pull this move off with the Raptors, and
the Raptors said, no, we love you, we want a
championship with you. We want you to extend the contract,
stay with us, but we ain't doing those shady stuff.
And then for them to just go to LA and
not just go on the up and up, but say hey,
we'll come only if you signed a regular contract with

the NBA on the up and up, and then we
do some shady stuff. And that's where you getting too,
the Aspiration deal. And now we're finding out allegedly about
this Dektronic deal. So I feel Kawhi Leonard is absolutely
responsible because if Uncle Dinnis.

You go for this, you sign on, you're getting the
reaping the benefits for it, and it ain't had to do
no work.

the money you know, going with this, you know that's

door in there so that we can get into Kawhi
for another sponsorship and endorsement, which he ain't did nothing for.

This is where you gotta make sure you levered the
hammer if you're Adam Silver. My last point, but and
it's a big butt we're talking maybe Nicki Minajs.

doesn't come down on anybody about anything, and so it's
nothing's gonna happen. And I also think the owners, Rob,
I I think the owners who would have to get
involved in this, I don't think they want you to
make a big fuss about it. If Adam Silver doesn't
say the owners, hey, what do you guys want to do?

Because I think they got skeleton in their closets. I
think they've got some things that they've done. And I
don't think Kawhy is the only one that is part
taking into some of this shady going on with some
extra money, some random endorsements, and I think they're like, look,
just find Steve Balmer a couple bucks.

and cocaine mixture of just you know, recreational drugs. So
he passed away sadly again at the age of twenty
nine back in May. But they just found out they've
now released the information of what it was there Rob.
But it just got me to thinking Rob first and foremost.
You know, obviously prayers and condolcas to his family. That's
just hard to deal with. Twenty nine years old, so

much life ahead of him, good player, really good role
player in the NBA, probably had another five six year
career ahead of him, and you know, gone so early.

But it just made me think.

Of, man, how for multiple different reasons, Right, you have
a tragic death like his, you have the trading of
Desmond Banks to Orlando, you have all the stuff that
happen with joh Wick turned to John Morant, you know,
and Triple J now up there in Utah, like Dylan
Brooks now just getting a big contract with the Suns.

About three years ago, Rob, that Memphis Grizzly team, we
were all like, man, they are you know that near
like the Spurs is if you will, now of just like, man,
here they come and watch out for them. And you know,
they were like the thunder of a couple of years
ago when you're like, hey, they're on their way. Man.
They had the number two seed and the West and
you know you're just looking at them like this team

with jab Morett, Triple J, Dylan Brooks, you know, Desmond Bays,
so on and so forth.

So Pablo Tory finds out his podcast on the latest
episode there that apparently that aspiration deal that Kawhi was
you know, had allegedly isn't the only one. So scoreboard

manufacturer Daktronics, they built that one hundred million dollar video boards.
By the way, I still haven't been to the into
a dome. I know you've been there a handful of times.
The clip into it just spectacular, like, well, so the
company that built all those screens in there, and they
had apparently hired Kawhi to a multimillion dollar sponsorship deal

for which he has done, of course, no work, And
that is according to Pablo Tory, And of course he
has some sources. One at a high level source set
under contract for into a Dome went on to say
that he's a thousand percent sure that they were circumventing
the salary cap when it comes to this. So people
with it, yeah, and they went on to say real

quick that they're not a company that you would see
a celebrity endorser for.

It wasn't coming out on their end.

The Clippers were technically kind of funding it, and it
was funneling money from the Clippers to Daktronics back to Kawhi.

My main issue is just a little bit the contrast
that I think of where you're gonna go is if
you're Adam Silver and the whole point of the collective
bargaining agreement. Right, you get to the owners, you get
the players, they all come together and we all agree.
You'll say, all right, we all agree on this. This
certain amount of money, certain amount of dollars is what
you have to spend. Think it's like nearly two hundred

million or whatever it is. And here are the rules.
Here's what you can do, here's what you can't do.
And the point is to make it fair for all team.

And you know, in this league, half of the league
would give up their quarterback in a minute if they
thought they could get a quarterback to improve their quarterback play.
There's so many bad quarterbacks. Sean I just if you
don't want Baker, that's fine. But if you really think
that he's your guy, and you look at what happened
last year and say a lot of that. I thought
they did him dirty in Cleveland when they won that

playoff game. The next year he played injured. You remember that, Sean,
and they held it against him. He went out there
and played, he was not healthy. They didn't do well,
and then they Jeni Hi him out of Cleveland and
they've been looking for a quarterback ever since.

theory out there in the sports universe.

Drew Aller and Fernando Mendoza played himself into the number
one pick in the draft. So I'm just saying, I

If you look at most recent Super Bowl teams, at
least half of their core players are generally playing for
big contracts. Everybody on the Rams already got paid.

We know Brandon Clark, who was a really good player
for the Memphis Grizzlies, passed on May eleventh out here
actually in the valley here in southern California, at the
age of twenty nine. And it was now they're saying
they it was an accidental effect death that had heroin

and cocaine mixture of just you know, recreational drugs. So
he passed away sadly again at the age of twenty
nine back in May. But they just found out they've
now released the information of what it was there Rob.
But it just got me to thinking Rob first and foremost.
You know, obviously prayers and condolcas to his family. That's
just hard to deal with. Twenty nine years old, so

much life ahead of him, good player, really good role
player in the NBA, probably had another five six year
career ahead of him, and you know, gone so early.

But it just made me think.
Speaker 5 (36:29):
Of, man, how for multiple different reasons, Right, you have
a tragic death like his, you have the trading of
Desmond Banks to Orlando, you have all the stuff that
happen with joh Wick turned to John Morant, you know,
and Triple J now up there in Utah, like Dylan
Brooks now just getting a big contract with the Suns.
(36:49):
About three years ago, Rob, that Memphis Grizzly team, we
were all like, man, they are you know that near
like the Spurs is if you will, now of just like, man,
here they come and watch out for them. And you know,
they were like the thunder of a couple of years
ago when you're like, hey, they're on their way. Man.
They had the number two seed and the West and
you know you're just looking at them like this team

with jab Morett, Triple J, Dylan Brooks, you know, Desmond Bays,
so on and so forth.

You're like, man, this is the team of the future
in the West.

And it's just amazing how fast things can change. And
as much as I don't want to talk about it
because it pays me well, but you always bring up
the window being closed with the Lions. There's been other
teams in the NBA where it's closed. Like, you got
to make stuff happen when that window's there, because in
the blink of an eye, organizations can change, Rob.

moment and looking at those circumstances and people.

because of where they were.

And then that's when that long drought started again, was
right after that.
