Don't forget. Coming up in about twenty eight minutes.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Antonio Daniels, the NBA Champ, Serious XM, NBA Radio, Pelicans
TV Analysts, Fox Sports Radio, NBA Analysts.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
I mean he is a hustler, no doubt about it.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
And we also have one's gotta go uh in this
hour of the program. But Keith, our number two, let's
talk some NFL, some more NFL. We talked about the
Chiefs and Rob g We got news. Players are getting
the let go left and right. You know, cap casualties,
they get whacked. They are getting whacked, as the mob
(01:54):
would say. Stefan Digg's got let go today right by
the Patriots, Yes, sir. But a big name who's gonna
be let go very soon.
Speaker 5 (02:03):
Big name, small stature like yours, truly, none other than
a former Arizona Cardinals quarterback.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Now Kyler Murray has been given his walking papers.
Speaker 5 (02:13):
Courtney ESPN's Adam Schefter he will be released this time
next week.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
He's out in Arizona.
Speaker 5 (02:20):
According to Schefter, Kyler reportedly wanted to be released, didn't
want to be traded because he allegedly already has two
teams he's hying and he thinks if he gets released,
have a better chance of winning.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Up in one of those two destinations.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
All right, here, here's where I'm gonna go. And I
know some people are gonna disagree. Keith, you'll probably disagree.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
Okay, Kyler Murray.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
Has been a failure in the NFL. And I know
people say, oh, you had a couple of Pro Bowls
and the Cardinals once was seven and zero and they
were pretty good, and they were doing this, and you
remember his.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
Hail Murray.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
Do you remember that Kylin Murray through that Hail Murray
and they won a game and they.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
Were talking about that.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Do you remember when Cliff Kingsbury said that him and
Patrick Mahomes were going to alternate MVPs. Do you remember
all that talk. Well, guess what, none of it came
to fruition. In fact, I'm so disappointed on how Kyler
Murray has turned out.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
I wanted him to go to baseball.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
He's the first player in the history of American sports
Keith who was drafted in the first round in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
And Major League Baseball.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
Nobody walking the planet has ever done that. That's how
talented of a player he was supposed to be. And
here we are, We're they're discarding him like he's nothing.
Like I'm just go ahead, move along here. I can
hear the cops.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
Nothing to see here, keep walking, don't stop. Kyler Murray.
Is that Kyler Murray doesn't matter.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Kyler Murray's a two time star athlete that nobody had
ever seen. You could talk about all the guys who
played football and baseball. Nobody was ever drafted in the
first round. Not hard it is to be drafted in
the first round of baseball, baseball and football. And here
we are. I don't know where he's going. People are
(04:22):
so desperate for quarterbacks. There'll be a place we go to,
the Jets. I don't know, because people are desperate. But
when I look at his career and where he is,
and I know Rob Ge joked about a stature and
size or whatever, and I know he's a little guy.
But people were expecting big things out of Kyler Murray.
(04:44):
Am I saying he can't keep continue to play somewhere
or go to another team, try to resurrect his career.
We've seen quarterbacks do that, but not of this caliber.
He was somebody we hadn't seen before. He had something nobody.
How many you can't say, Kenith, how many people can
you say about somebody doing something nobody.
Speaker 6 (05:07):
In the history of school? Might never happen again? Right,
might never happen again? I played baseball in football I
was nowhere near like, that's that's ridiculous, that's incredible. I
got a counter though. The book is still open on
the guy. He's twenty eight, and if he lands in
the right situation, like if he lands with Kevin O'Connell,
the Minnesota Vikings and Justin Jefferson, watch out. Now I
gotta go back because I followed his whole career. There
(05:30):
are people that regard him as the best high school
football player out of the state of Texas. Ever, he
just won state championship after state championship after state championship,
coming out of the Dallas area, playing in Jerry World.
He was the man like they talk about him in
high school, and if you look up his high school highlight,
he was unstoppable. He's explosive, he can run, he can throw.
There was no play that he could not make. Then
(05:52):
he goes to college and he's hitting home runs, he's
playing center field, he's also playing quarterback there. He wins
the Heisman. He comes out of Oklahoma, and of course
with Cliff Kingsbury and the Cardinals, they make sure that
they take him number one, and they had just taken
a quarterback. I think Josh Rosen you know, I almost
blanked on the name. It's coming back to me. But
then they're like, okay, now this is the Kyler Murray era.
(06:14):
Now he is a small guy. He got hurt a lot.
He wasn't available. The best ability is availability. You can't
be all that you can be if you're not always
on the field, if you're in the cold tub. Also,
they changed coaches around. I put some blame on Jonathan Gannon.
He got fired. Right now they come in with Mike Lafloor,
Micha Laflor, Malik Willis, which you're talking about Willis. Obviously
(06:36):
his brother Matt Lafloor just coached him up. He probably
wants him to come out there to Arizona. So they
don't have any room for Kyler Murray. And I'll say this,
he got paid. They ran him his money. And here's
a little, you know, off camera stuff. I was actually
in La when he signed. It was the twenty twenty
two All Star Game in La. I went to Drake's
Club Delilah. They brought him and Jordan Clarkson through with
(06:58):
a bunch of models through this back door and he
was partying and celebrating the contract. So they said he
had a moder action off the field. They were taller
than him, but yo, they said he had distractions off
the field, right, he was a different kind of guy.
There was some story that popped up about the girl
that did his hair. They talked about him playing video
games and not being in a playbook. It just did
(07:20):
not work out. I think now it could work out somewhere.
The book is still open for him. I don't think
he wants to go play baseball. He should because he's
a small guy. I think he could make a killing
an MLB. But he loves the game of football. He
wants to prove people wrong. And because he's a twenty
eight year old athletic quarterback who was on the shelf
all last year, he's gonna be fresh this year. Somebody's
gonna give him an opportunity to win a starting job,
(07:42):
and we'll see what happens with Kyler Murray in twenty
twenty six. I don't think he's done. I can't say
he's a failure. I can't write him off just yet.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
Well, thirty eight forty eight and one in Arizona last
year had a career low in one hundred and ninety
two passing yards per game one ninety two, a career
low quick QBR forty seven point two. He's trending the
other way. I get what you're saying. Twenty eight sounds nice.
(08:09):
He should be ascending. And if you're a new coach
and you have a talent there, and you know all
the stuff that you just talked about, Keith, about changing
these coaches and injuries and all this, then you should
be able to take a look and go, you know what,
I can make this work because it's so hard to.
Speaker 4 (08:27):
Find a quarterback.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
The idea that the Cardinals are really pull the plug
on Kyler Murray speaks volumes.
Speaker 6 (08:36):
Because I need more than Kyler Murray and no contract
thing I get him now so that they don't trigger
another like twenty million dollars, so that they have that
money to build a team. You need a defense. Who
is the best offensive player he had around him? Don't
say Marvin Harrison, James Connor. Trey McBride emerged this year
with Jacoby Brissett. They kind of look at Kyler and say,
(08:57):
how come you couldn't get this out of Trey McBride, Like,
who is the best offensive player he had around? DeAndre
Hopkins no, they're DeAndre Hopkins.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
I get it, and I'm not I understand as a team,
but when you have a guy of that caliber, he's
supposed to also elevate people.
Speaker 4 (09:14):
That's what you're looking for.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
When you had when they drafted Josh Rose in the
year before for one year and you make that decision
right and say.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
We're gonna make everybody agree.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
But I'm trying to say, when you make a move
like that as a team, that sets you back.
Speaker 4 (09:31):
You know what I'm saying, to take a quarterback back
to back.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
Years that that that that set you back because you
could have gotten another player to help you and you
got rid of Josh Rose.
Speaker 4 (09:41):
And that's my point.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
So they believed that he was going to be that
guy and he's not that guy. And now you might
be bouncing around you might not. Maybe he's not going
to be what they thought he was going to be.
And maybe it worked in high school and college, it
doesn't always translate.
Speaker 7 (09:59):
All.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
What I'm saying is I'm looking at Kyler Murray and
I don't I'm not. I'm not seeing it. I look
at a failed court. He failed the guy who was
but they failed like anybody.
Speaker 6 (10:13):
We can't say the Cardinals are a great organization. We
can't say that the Cardinals did all that they could
around him. And that's what I'm looking at him, like, hey,
change the scenery, the right coach. That's why I keep
saying Minnesota. If you know, Minnesota is looking for somebody.
If he goes there, even if he goes to Atlanta
with Kevin Stefanski and Jean Robinson and Drake London and
Kyle Pitts and having some talent around him, he might
(10:34):
look like Vick out there. I'm not done with him.
I'm not done. Did you draft him in fantasy? Because
if you wasted a pick on him on a fantasy
year and he was your fantasy quarterback and it was
one of those dud years, you'll hold that grudge against
him forever. Did you have him in fantasy?
Speaker 8 (10:45):
No?
Speaker 1 (10:45):
No, no, no fantasy for me, But I know a
lot of people were definitely upset with.
Speaker 4 (10:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
The worst part is people probably lost money betting on him,
So that's another part that they hold against him. You
know what, We've seen quarterbacks go places and change or whatever,
but not an athlete of this caliber. That's what I'm
looking at, Like the idea that Kyler Murray's going somewhere
else because they feel like he's no good or doesn't
(11:14):
suit their purpose anymore.
Speaker 4 (11:16):
That's the shock to me.
Speaker 6 (11:17):
Not the money.
Speaker 9 (11:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
The money, yeah, but he had to get a certain
amount of talent. I get the money, but you you
bite the bullet if the guy's good enough, you do
if you think that he can do it. And they're saying,
we'd rather start over and have a bad team and
go hope that we find a quarterback. Fifteen teams need
a quarterback. That's how hard it is to get a quarterback.
(11:41):
For when you let go of a quarterback, it tells
you a lot about them, That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (11:47):
Yeah, I mean this is the same team that hired
Mike Lafleur after he was the Jets failed offensive coordinator
three years ago. You know what I'm saying, Like that quickly,
he spends two years under Sean McVay. We all know
Sean McVay calls that off. He's got a head coaching job,
and he does. I'm sure he doesn't want to, you know,
start over with Kyler Murray. He wants to start fresh.
He doesn't want to inherit. Kyler Murray. They don't want
(12:08):
to run run him. That money. Good for Kyler Murray
to get up out of here. He got his back,
he got paid. Now go somewhere else and prove to
the league that you can still play, that you can
still run, that you can still throw and make plays
in a different situation. I think it's he still got
another he still got another life in the NFL. I'm
not ready to write him off. He hte me off,
but he ain't right back.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
You know what I'm saying, all right, eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven nine nine, six
sixty three sixty nine. Has Kyler Murray been a failure
in the NFL? I say yes. Keith says no.
Speaker 4 (12:39):

from you.

(14:27):
We were talking about Kyler Murray. I feel like the
book is still open on the twenty eight year old quarterback,
former college baseball player, first round draft pick in MLB
and NFL. Rob says he's cooked. Rob says he's done.
He failed. It didn't work out. It had to work out.
So if you want to get involved with the conversation,
hit us up right now eight seven seven nine nine
(14:49):
nine on Fox. That's eight seven seven nine nine nine Nfox,
and we're gonna get back to the phones. How you feeling, Rob,
let's do it?
Speaker 4 (15:00):
Yeah, I want.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
I'm wondering where people are on this and uh, I
just expected more from Kyler Murray. He's a unique athlete
and it didn't pan out, and that the Cardinals are
moving on from him, that's a bad sign if you're
a Kyler Murray fan.
Speaker 6 (15:15):
Okay, let's hear from you. Let'll see what we got.
Let's go to Joe in Idaho. You're on the odd
Couple with Rob Parker and Keith McPherson. Here filling in
for Kevin Washington. What's up, Joe? Okay, Sir Jeremy in Boise. Correction,
Jeremy in Boise is first up?
Speaker 3 (15:34):
Right now?
Speaker 6 (15:35):
You're on the odd couple with Rob Parker Keith McPherson
filling in for Kevin Washington.
Speaker 12 (15:40):
Yeah, sure, what's up? Guys? Take on Kyler is? You know,
he's a good young man. And you know, I'm an
NFC West guy living out west here and I watch
him his whole career. I think he might be done.
He you know, every time a new call of duty
comes out, he disappears. And I think that, you know,
I think that the kid. You know, it's the biggest
(16:02):
position in sports, you know, and if you're not gonna
put in the metal work, then you know your body's
gonna pay. And you know he's not gonna last. He's
not made for this league for very long. So I
don't know. I like the guy, but you know, if
you're not into a Peyton Manny style with your brain,
you're not gonna go.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
But you know what, thank you appreciate the call and
keep you remember this. They had to write in this
contract that he had to watch film. Do you remember
that of course, Okay, that's what I'm saying, Like you
can't act like that's not it, Like he was all
locked in and it was all the coaching and all
the other players and everybody else. That's what bothers me.
(16:39):
The idea that you would even have to put that
in a contract scares me.
Speaker 6 (16:44):
Yeah, but I feel like it's more of an internet narrative,
and sometimes when these things trend on the Internet, we
just believe them. But Kyler Murray did come out and say,
at my size, as small as I am, you think
I'm not watching film, you think I'm not preparing, like
I have to over prepare to be able to pete
at this level. Being my set wouldn't have been in.
Speaker 4 (17:02):
The contract if it was an issue. And you know
that if it.
Speaker 6 (17:05):
Might have been an issue at some point, because they
don't have ways to track that now, like if they
give you an iPad, they can they can tell how
long you watch the videos on the iPad and this,
that and the other. It might have been in the
contract at one point. But I do kind of believe him,
like there's no way he was going out there Johnny
Manziel style, like not reading the playbook at Wait a minute.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
Don't you remember JaMarcus Russell with the Raiders. They gave
they gave him a blank tape and they asked them,
did you watch it? Come on, man, they gave a
tape DVD or that boy was different. It was like
they gave a blank one. How did everything go?
Speaker 12 (17:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (17:41):
I watched the coach there is Come on man, Nah,
that's crazy to me. I played a little bit of
college football, right. I played quarterback at James Madison University
on the bench, the backups, backup, third string, and even
I had DVDs that I had to go to my
dorm room and pop in because we would get quizzed
on it. Right, we're opening up against UNC. We're in
the film room. Hey, mcpher's in. What covers they in?
Speaker 8 (18:01):
All?
Speaker 12 (18:01):
Right?
Speaker 6 (18:01):
Third down, we're gonna go three wide receivers? What do
you expect here? Like, I just I have a hard
time believing that these guys don't watch film in the NFL,
Because if you don't watch film in the NFL, you're
you're gonna get you gonna get cooked.
Speaker 4 (18:14):
Seven seven ninety nine on Fox, Keith, we got another one.
Speaker 6 (18:17):
Yeah, let's see do doop do doop? Do doop, did doop.
Let's go to coach. I'm talking about playing football. Let's
go to coach in Orlando. Coach, talk to us, what
do you got?
Speaker 8 (18:27):
I think he still has some things in the tank.
You know. I look at him, and he got the money,
but I don't think they ever really put all the
pieces around him. Honestly, I think there's at least nine
NFL teams he could go to. He'd go to Falcons, Vikings, Titans, Jets, Texans, Titans, Dolphins, Brown, Saints,
and Raiders. And they're better at quarterback with him than
(18:49):
any of the guys they have paints.
Speaker 6 (18:51):
Yeah, the Titans and Saints just found their rookie quarterbacks
last year.
Speaker 4 (18:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (18:57):
I don't care be out there.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
But here's my thing. Kyler Murray was supposed to be special.
Can you admit at least that he was special? Because
he was supposed.
Speaker 8 (19:07):
To be when I saw him with Fitts and some
of those guys, when he had some things he was making.
Speaker 3 (19:13):
Some place, he had special moments.
Speaker 8 (19:16):
They gave him what he needed.
Speaker 4 (19:18):
I just this is my only issue.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
And I hear you, thanks for the car, appreciate it,
But Keith, every quarterback that fails is the system. He
don't have weapons, Like it's an easy way out.
Speaker 4 (19:30):
You're not.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
When you get drafted to a bad team, you're supposed
to elevate that team. Peyton Manning went to a bad
Colts team. You can't keep always making it. And I
know they built the roster rock right and he was terrible.
But I'm saying you are supposed to be the reason.
Everybody told Joe Burrow don't go to Cincinnati. That's a
bad organization. What did he do with second year to
(19:53):
come to the Super Bowl? So I'm not going to
buy that. Every quarterback that fails, oh you know, it
wasn't s Am Darnold's fault.
Speaker 4 (20:01):
It was the Jets fault.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
It wasn't uh uh this guy's fault.
Speaker 4 (20:05):
It's always like the team, the offensive.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
Coordinator, the coach, the offensive line, the receivers. Come on, man,
you gotta take if we're gonna give you glory when
things work out. You can't push it off on everybody.
Let's get another call. In eight seven, seven ninety nine
on Fox, we got all right.
Speaker 6 (20:25):
Next up is Andrew in Alaska. You're on the odd
couple with Rob Parker, Keith McPherson. What you got. Let's
go to actually John and Andrew drop, Andrew Andrew drop.
Let's go to John and Clovis next, Clo, how are
you John?
Speaker 9 (20:45):
I'm good. Guys, Kinda Murray is gonna have a repirse.
It's gonna be a situation where I think this was
the fact that he apologized to me. Let me know
that this young man is gonna make some necessary changes
to improve his game. He's young enough, he's got talent,
he's smallish, there have been some injuries, but I think
(21:06):
that's the talent's there. And I think what happens is
is sometimes you need a little bit of a wake
up call to stop your pedestal, and then you've got
to rededicate yourself to your craft. And so I can
see him having a renaissance a la Sam Donald.
Speaker 12 (21:22):
I really can't.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
Everybody's not Sam Donald. I know people like to make
that case and Baker Mayfield. For every one of those guys,
there's a ton of.
Speaker 9 (21:30):
Guys guys that have done it too, though, Rob, you.
Speaker 1 (21:34):
Know, I know, I don't time, I know, but there's
also a ton of guys who never got better, who
never Ryan Leaf was supposedly gonna be this next guy.
There's a lot of guys who never panned out, and
all I'm saying is there's a chance.
Speaker 4 (21:48):
I just don't feel like it.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
I feel like Kyler Murray was supposed to be something
special and it didn't happen.
Speaker 4 (21:54):
That's just that's where I'm at, all Right.
Speaker 6 (21:57):
Okay, we got to get to the break. We've got
NBA Champion Antonio Daniels coming up next, but first let's
get to Monsey Belanos for the latest in sport.
Speaker 3 (22:06):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in

Speaker 1 (22:18):
Thank you, Monti. It is the odd couple here on
a worship Wednesday. Rob Parker, Keith McPherson in for Kelvin Washington.
Now let's bring in our guy, Antonio Daniels, NBA Champ,
Sirius Exam, NBA Radio, Pelicans TV analysts, and of course
Fox Sports Radio NBA analysts. Antonio, what's up? Say hi
(22:42):
to Keith McPherson filling in for Kelvin.
Speaker 7 (22:45):
What's up?
Speaker 4 (22:47):
How are you?
Speaker 7 (22:48):
I'm blessed man? You know I am.
Speaker 4 (22:50):
I know you are and the hardest worker out there.
Let's start here.
Speaker 1 (22:55):
I do want to get to we're gonna I want
to ask you about the Pistons and their shooting, but
let me start with Luke and JJ. What you saw
on the sidelines, their little uh tay to tay, whatever
you want to call it. We got an issue here.
I remember the last time a coach didn't kind of
get along with Luca over defense.
Speaker 4 (23:12):
His name was Rick Carlisle and that didn't work out.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
Is JJ in trouble of maybe not being around now
that him and Luca aren't on the same page.
Speaker 7 (23:21):
Well, I wouldn't say him and Luca aren't on the
same page. You know, throughout the course of an NBA season,
you're going to have the often it's just more is
made of it because it's the Los Angeles Lakers. It's
gonna happen. There is no star player and coach that
see eye to eye on every situation.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
I agree with that, but it's the same issue with
him defensively.
Speaker 4 (23:45):
Like a lot of people bashed the Mavericks, and I
get it.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
Maybe they didn't like the trade, thought they could have
gotten more for him.
Speaker 4 (23:51):
I'll give you that, but there's a reason.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
They didn't want to sink three hundred and fifty million
dollars into a guy was a five time All NBA player,
and we see it and I'm there.
Speaker 7 (24:04):
But now you're talking about too completely.
Speaker 4 (24:06):
I'm asking you, but I'm what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
The issue has to be isn't this about defense or
doing that?
Speaker 4 (24:11):
I mean, it can't be about them scoring. What are
they talking about?
Speaker 2 (24:14):
What is it to me?
Speaker 7 (24:15):
But it can be about a lot of things, Honestly,
it can be about it. It can be about many things.
It doesn't just have to be about defense. It can
be about who Luca was behind closed doors. And these
are things I don't know. It's work ethic, it can
be the complaining, it could be anything. I don't know,
but there is something to be said. There is something
(24:38):
to be said, and I will go I will go
on the record. I have gone on record on our
Serahs XM show and saying, you know, I thought it
was a fullish trade. But I've also gone on record
in saying, but I'm also not at work with Luca
every day, right, so it's easy to kind of kind
of say how we feel about it when we don't
(24:58):
have to work with somebody every day. I don't know
who he was behind closed doors. I don't know how
difficult he wants to deal with behind closed doors. So
we can sit on the outside of the practice facility
and say, man, you know what, they need to suck
it up and just pay the man. Well, you don't
know what adding three hundred and fifty million dollars on
top of a problem already, how much that kid elevator
(25:21):
escalate that problem.
Speaker 6 (25:23):
It's a slippery slope. But uh, the Lake Show is
Lucas Show. So where do we go from here? If
we're gonna assume that JJ is out, Like, who do
you bring in that's gonna be able to grab Lucas
and he's gonna be okay with it?
Speaker 7 (25:36):
Why are we assuming that JJ's out?
Speaker 6 (25:41):
That's what that's saying.
Speaker 4 (25:42):
No, I mean it's no, there's no report that he's
out at all. And it's Lucas Show.
Speaker 6 (25:47):
If this is a rich see everybody could all.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
I'm saying, yeah, well, because we saw with Rick call
All they didn't get along.
Speaker 4 (25:55):
And I'm just.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
Saying star players and you know this, Antonio, you play
in the league. They have say over who the coach
is going to be, they do if they don't like them.
Speaker 4 (26:04):
Correct.
Speaker 7 (26:05):
Well, star players, this is a bigger topic because star
players are the most powerful voices in any organization. In
any organization, this is why it bothers me when star
players say things like, well, I wanted to play, but
they wouldn't let me right stop it.
Speaker 4 (26:23):
I agree with you on that coach.
Speaker 7 (26:25):
Yeah, if you want that coach to be fired and
fired if you want a player to get traded these
trading so you have all this power, but you don't
have the power of a performance staff to tell him
you know what, I feel good enough, I'm gonna go
out and play tonight. Yeah, there's no more powerful voice
in any organization than an actual star player.
Speaker 4 (26:43):
I'm with you all the way. I tell people all
the time.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
We argue about if they really wanted to play and
they could play, they could play, no doubt about it.
Speaker 4 (26:52):
Let's go to the Cavaliers beat the Pistons.
Speaker 1 (26:55):
No Donovan, Mitchell and even when they lost of the
previous game in Detroit, there was no Harden or Donovan
and they had to go to overtime in order to
beat Cleveland. And the issue I have with the Pissons.
As good as their season has been, is their shooting there.
Three point shooting has been really bad. And I look
(27:18):
at it. Can you really make a run a real
run when you shoot that poorly from long range?
Speaker 7 (27:26):
What depends on what you mean by a real run?
Speaker 1 (27:28):
Like there are people thinking they're going to the finals.
I'm not in that camp, but there are people who
believe that.
Speaker 7 (27:34):
I can see them going to the finals. I think
two things can be true. At the same time, I
can see them going to the finals, we're also recognizing
their three point shooting the problem because if you go
back to a year ago, rob what they had alongside
Kate Cunningham, alongside Isaiah Stewart, alongside Jalen Durant. They had
(27:54):
Malite Easley and they had Tim Hardaway Junior. So they
had two guys that were considered floor stretchers that you
have to honor their ability to shoot the basketball. And
now what happens is you have a Sir Thompson, great athlete, right,
you have Ron Hollins, great athlete. They play incredibly hard,
but they shrink the floor. So now you're content with
(28:18):
those guys shooting. The one guy that they have that
you have to honor his ability to shoot the balls,
Duncan Robinson, and you can actually kick the floor toward
Kate Huntingham and pay special attention to Duncan Robinson and
tell everyone else like, we'll live with those guys shooting.
You weren't doing that with Tim Hardaway Jr. And you
weren't doing that with elite Beasley. Now those guys now
(28:41):
I was the elite Beasley dealing with the NBA investigation
and Tim Hardaway Jr. Now Being in dipper that left
a big three point shooting hole in Detroit. In Detroit,
in my opinion, I do agree with that.
Speaker 6 (28:54):
We're on the phone right now with Antonio Daniel's NBA
Champion Serious XM NBA Race, Pelicans TV analyst, Fox Sports Radio,
NBA analysts now looking at the Pistons and the anonymous
player from the Cleveland Cavaliers that said they're not on
our level, they can't play with us. You know they're
not in me CLASSA. How do you feel about this
(29:15):
Cleveland Cavaliers team coming together now with the Beard, with
Donovan Mitchell and them making a push if it might
not be the Pistons that are going to be the
Kings of the East.
Speaker 7 (29:26):
With with the Cleveland Cavaliers, I'm in a man. They
got to show me. Come in there, they got to
show me face. They have to because I know this.
I know how good they can look in the regular season,
right And I say that to say this, I know
how good James Harden has looked for many years in
the regular.
Speaker 13 (29:44):
Season and then comes the postseason, right exactly, And as
we know, as we know, when you're talking about teams
that have the potential and ability to.
Speaker 7 (29:55):
Reach the Conference finals of the NBA Finals, this is
their team. The Cleveland Cavaliers, like some of these other
teams like Oklahoma City, like the Knicks, like the Pistons,
they're going to be just by the postseason, playing the temple.
Because if you have a great regular season you get
eliminated first round, it's an unsuccessful season. If you have
a subpart regular season and advance to the conference finals,
(30:16):
it's a successful season. So with the Cleveland cavaliebs, I'm
not there yet. I am not there yet. They're going
to have to show me. From the second week of April.
Speaker 4 (30:25):
Moving on, I hear you. I know They're eight and
one so far. With James harm. But we've seen that
movie before.
Speaker 1 (30:31):
Let's finish here, Antonio with the controversy in the association,
Magic City Night, Magic City Monday coming up on the
sixteenth in Atlanta, the Magic against the Hawks. We, of
course here on the odd couple have a we call
off show Magic City Monday after the Fame Strip Club there,
(30:56):
one of the Spurs players pushback said the NBA should
be ashamed of themselves by doing this.
Speaker 4 (31:02):
Where are you on this? Is this a big controversy
to you?
Speaker 7 (31:06):
I don't. I don't think it's a big controversy. But
I also think that Luke Cortnett has a right. He
has a white to voices opinion. He has a white
to voice his opinion he has. Everybody doesn't live by
the same morals and values. So what's okay to someone
isn't okay to somebody else, as far as you know,
just just living its concerns.
Speaker 1 (31:28):
I agree with that. But here's my pushback is, you
don't have to participate. You don't have to go like
like people wanted for years to the oh the rap music.
We want to outlaw it, we want to destroy the
I've heard that forever. If you're not interested in that
gangster rap and all that Curson and all that it.
Speaker 4 (31:47):
Don't listen to it, don't buy it, and the same.
Speaker 7 (31:50):
Thing go ahead, Like you don't have to listen to
it or buy it to have an opinion on it.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
No, I didn't say that, but that the talk about Cornett, Yeah,
he's talking about cancer. That he could denounce it, cancel it.
Why because that's the way you live your life. I'm
going to say here and say, whether you entertain strip
clubs or not, it's a legitimate business. They pay taxes,
it's not against the law. Why are we okay with gambling?
(32:18):
Did he come out against gambling the law?
Speaker 7 (32:20):
Though? But the thing is he's not saying it against
the law. He's just saying that like from the way
that he feels, this isn't in my moral code, and
that's okay, that's all right because some people don't gamble,
some people don't do strip clubs.
Speaker 2 (32:35):
Why people don't.
Speaker 7 (32:35):
Do this, some people don't drink whatever. God made us
all different, and he made us all different for a reason.
But in making us all different, that doesn't mean that
we have to keep our opinions towards I did say
you shouldn't say anything.
Speaker 4 (32:48):
I agree.
Speaker 1 (32:49):
I agree with that. I just think it was interesting.
I would love to read his take on gambling and
where he is on that. That's all all right here, Antonio,
I appreciate it, my man, as we appreciate you for
your knowledge. Antonio Daniels of course serious XM, NBA Radio
and of course here Fox Sports Radio NBA analyst.
Speaker 7 (33:09):
Thank you, my man.
Speaker 1 (33:11):
All right, thanks bro, all right, coming up next, one's
gotta go.
Speaker 4 (33:15):
Can't wait. You'll love this game, Antonio. One's gotta go.
Speaker 9 (33:19):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (33:19):
Here on the odd Couple, Fox Sports Radio on a
worship Wednesday, Rob Parker, Keith McPherson in for Kelvin Washington.
Speaker 4 (33:27):
And you know what you need to do, Alex, what's
that stick?
Speaker 10 (33:30):
And stay to hope that you even get half as
many jobs as Antonio Daniels and Robs.
Speaker 3 (33:36):

Keith McPherson in for Kelvin Washington. He's got a few
days off, Keith will be joining us again tomorrow. I
appreciate him stepping in. And for over forty years, tire
Rack has been helping customers find the right tires for how,
(34:09):
what and.
Speaker 4 (34:10):
Where they drive.
Speaker 1 (34:11):
That's right, ship fast and free back by free road
has a protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire
installations when they come to you tireraq dot com the
way tire buying should be.
Speaker 4 (34:25):
It is now time for one's gotta go.
Speaker 6 (34:33):
Five of crowds is that when I'm blaming an even number,
figure it out.
Speaker 5 (34:41):
One's got to go the segment where we settle the
score once and for all. We got five things. One
of ms gotta go. Not to be mentioned again. Don't
have you guys heard about this Bush Stadium, home of
the Saint Louis Cardinals tickets. I want to go to
Bush for upcoming home games, allowing fans to eat all
they want in the Coca Cola unlimited all you can
eat tickets. The seats are located in an area called
(35:04):
Big Macland. Just I love the fatness coming out of
Saint Louis.
Speaker 4 (35:07):
Alex.
Speaker 2 (35:08):
Okay, I got five talking about you. You are ballpark foods.
One of them's gotta go can do it. Here we go.
Speaker 1 (35:17):
But it's twenty nine dollars right all you can eat.
Speaker 10 (35:22):
Not anymore.
Speaker 3 (35:23):
I'll the pavilions.
Speaker 1 (35:26):
Yeah, twenty nine dollars all you can eat. That's not bad,
all right, we got right Here we go.
Speaker 5 (35:30):
Here are the foods hot dogs, not chos, popcorn, fries,
and peanuts. These are all by the way in the
section for Bush Stadium. Rob Parker, one's gotta go. The
woman to go first is easy, Rob, go, This is easy.
No peanuts, I know, take me out to the ball game.
(35:50):
Hot dog, peanuts and crack of jacks. I'll go without
the peanuts. I'm good on the peanuts. Enough salt, Keith
your baseball guy. That's why you gotta go.
Speaker 6 (36:02):
I'm in the city. I'm in New York. Hot dogs
gotta go. No glzies. You can't be a glzzy gobbler.
Glazzy in my mouth. You're caught on camera at the
stadium eating a glizzy.
Speaker 4 (36:14):
No, no, why you do that?
Speaker 10 (36:18):
Rob loves the glizzies. What I'm just spised to drop? Rob,
I'm with you. No peanuts here, baby, Why too much mess?
I don't want to have to put all my hands
and all that all the time. It's just it's and
all No, no, I'd rather have French fries, something else, peanuts.
Speaker 6 (36:33):
We can afford something better here.
Speaker 3 (36:34):
Okay, it's all you can eat. I think the answer
is peanuts.
Speaker 10 (36:38):
But I will tell you, like if somebody has I'm
never getting peanuts at the ballpark.
Speaker 3 (36:42):
I'm eating everything else.
Speaker 2 (36:43):
But if someone has peanuts, I thoroughly enjoy them. So
I just feel hypocritical, but I think it's peanuts.
Speaker 5 (36:48):
I know rob G where he is like a split
because everyone knows this is a glizzy free zone here
on the.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
You know it's not, Yes, it is.
Speaker 5 (36:57):
We're talking about Costco where it's a dollar fifty and
you get a drink with it.
Speaker 4 (37:00):
Like you don't get a Glizzy.
Speaker 2 (37:02):
We don't go well when.
Speaker 5 (37:03):
You go to Costco, that's different because it's such a
good deal you might as well do it. But I'm
not gonna pay even with the all you can eat
it's like thirty dollars a ticket whatever it equates to,
like four dollars a Glizzy.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
We ain't doing that.
Speaker 6 (37:14):
But you can have more Glizzies.
Speaker 2 (37:17):
There never can be too many, robb G.
Speaker 4 (37:20):
You could have two Glizzies in your bult.
Speaker 2 (37:22):
You could one in your mouth.
Speaker 5 (37:25):
You could do that to Rob, like making yourself laugh,
which is like double fist respect that Keith gets its
double fisting.
Speaker 4 (37:33):
Glizzies is wild.
Speaker 6 (37:35):
We've said Glasy way too much of this show.
Speaker 4 (37:38):
Keith is like, this is my last time on the show,
talk about.
Speaker 2 (37:43):
No votes for nachos, popcorn and fries and.
Speaker 4 (37:47):
Those so Rob g unbelievable.
Speaker 5 (37:50):
I mean you want to hear the rest of the
food that's in there. This is a pretty good deal.
So this is a good deal. Team should do it.
Speaker 2 (37:55):
Unlimited soft drinks, no beer obviously, but.
Speaker 1 (37:57):
If you go to Dodger Stadium, a diet coke is
ten dollars, so imagine if you're.
Speaker 5 (38:01):
Paid chicken tenders, Brats, Brots, Brots, rots, Htto chips, ice
cream cut, which is just the bigger CSI it is.
Speaker 2 (38:16):
It is a good deal, twenty nine dollars.
Speaker 3 (38:18):
Yan deal, a great deal.
Speaker 2 (38:20):
Until the eighthing.
Speaker 5 (38:21):
So you better hope it's not a pictures due like
it better be an offensive explosion.
Speaker 6 (38:26):
They've been struggling to get people in the Bush Stadium,
so they don't care who's pitching. This is gonna work, though,
the Fat Boys are coming to clean them out. Oh yeah,
this is gonna work. It is gonna work, And it
makes sense. You don't want to price it out.
Speaker 1 (38:39):
You actually want to sell on volume because if you're
if the prices are too high, a lot of people
just will go without, you know what I mean, They'll
best be like, I'm not buying a ten dollars soda
on principle.
Speaker 4 (38:53):
They just won't do it. So it's amazing.
Speaker 1 (38:57):
One thing I love about Yankee Stadium they got three
different hot dogs there.
Speaker 4 (39:02):
Come on, you know that you.
Speaker 6 (39:03):
Never had I don't, I don't partake. You don't have
hot dogs at all, never ever bought a hot dog
hot dog in Yankee Stadium.
Speaker 4 (39:12):
What are you talking about.
Speaker 6 (39:13):
I'm in the bodega. I'm at broso you can bring
food in at the Bronx. I've had the Dominican spot
with a plastic bag and a brown paper bag bringing
in rice and beans. I'm not doing all that, all right,
All right?
Speaker 1 (39:25):
Our number three on the odd couples coming up, Glizzy free,
I promise
