They just trashing my fit Robed I always want to wear.
You gotta wear something to make the people talk. They
trashing my fitt because you got your name on your shirt.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
All right, Rob g the odd mob.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
I'm sure we got some comments or they're ripping on Keith,
or they got some NBA stuff.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
What we got. We got all kinds of stuff.
Speaker 5 (02:16):
But just most recently, going back to Rob's last comment
at the end of our one suggesting that because I
am a Mexican American. Here we go, and I must
be a soccer fan, Big Daddy, OU said, Rob definitely
all Caps racist, and Carlos says, yeah, we all know
Robb g. He is actually a hockey fan.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
There you go. But it doesn't mean like, okay.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
So if you were to say to me, well, Rob,
I know you're watching the NBA playoffs, what I think?
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (02:43):
He's saying that because I'm black, Like I'm watching basketball now.
If you said I had a fried chicken dinner and watermelon,
you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
But I didn't say anything. What's in that big go?
Is that kool aid? He said?
Speaker 1 (02:58):
I got kool aid? I got kool aid with the
dollar sugar in there.
Speaker 6 (03:02):
You got a fire alarm at your crib that just
keeps squeaking. Don't change the batteries. That is unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
You don't. I don't know how do people survive with that?
I see that on me so much. When that thing's
going off, Keith.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
You know what we will, it's like beep. I'm like, dude,
fix the battery, pull the battery out, do something.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
Players Jazz Chisholm Junior did an interview on MLB Network
with the fire alarm beeping, and Travis Etn did the
same thing, did a podcast with I'm saying Brown.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
I'm like, Yo, how do y'all live?
Speaker 2 (03:37):
How do you sleep?
Speaker 7 (03:39):
You don't hear that?
Speaker 3 (03:40):
Wild right? Easy fix?
Speaker 1 (03:43):
It would drive me crazy. Like when I hear a
chirp once or twice, I'm like, where's the battery. I'm
gonna get a new battery.
Speaker 5 (03:53):
We talked about this on and off there. Don't you
hate it when racial stereotypes end up being true? Like
I've told you a thousand times, I love my brothers
like to death. But when they parked their cars on
the lawn, I'm like, God, we did it again. There
you go, we did it again. I'm just like, what
are we doing?
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Guys? Come on? Doesn't help anybody. Why they gotta punk
it on the lawn.
Speaker 8 (04:14):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (04:15):
They could park the next time it's over and be
on the street. But they're like, nah, I'm just gonna
park it right there. We're good and then people drive
by the goes okay, see, I'm.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
Just we are bad.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
No, I'm just saying right all right, uh talking about
look speaking about looking bad. Rob g the Lakers are
going to look bad in this series, and we know
that Luca's not playing. Lebron is going to try to
rally the troops with mister Weez. But JJ Reddick said
(04:47):
something today, Rob g that just rubbed me the wrong way.
Speaker 5 (04:50):
Yeah, ahead of Game one, Lakers, you mentioned it fifteen
and a half point underdog.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
That is unbelieve had Lebron ever been a fifty to
a half point underdog.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
I don't know what, my god, but yeah, it's not
looking good for the Lakers.
Speaker 5 (05:03):
Everybody's expecting I don't need to lose this series, but
all likelihood to get sweat and JJ Reddick ahead of
Game one spoke about the task at hand going against
the defending champion thunder Tickulas.
Speaker 9 (05:14):
We saw stat in our morning meeting this morning, like
our teams that have had back to back or even
more than that.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
Ten or more that are net ratings in consecutive seasons.
Speaker 8 (05:25):
We're talking about the ninety five ninety fifty Bowls, the
ninety six to.
Speaker 4 (05:27):
Ninety seven Bowls, and then fix team through seventeen, where
you're literally talking about two of the.
Speaker 8 (05:32):
Greatest teams of all time.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
I said to a bunch of.
Speaker 6 (05:35):
People yesterday off site that we're you know, talking about
this series.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
To me, I said, to get the thunder one of
the it's one of the greatest teams ever in NBA histrum.
Speaker 8 (05:44):
That's just the reality they are. They're that good. I
think our.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Guys recognize that and respect that, and we know with
what kind of task.
Speaker 8 (05:50):
We have in front of us.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
No, they are not one of the greatest teams in
NBA history, JJ Reddick. What bloading is that they won
a championship. We gave him a parade, We threw the
confetti at them. They also win seven games against Denver
and seven games against Indiana. If Halliburnon didn't get hurt,
(06:13):
they might have lost that championship. I don't care what
the numbers say. This is a typical coach speak. JJ
Reddick thinks everybody's a dummy. You know what he's saying.
Kathy's saying, we're gonna get drubbed. So I'm gonna soften
the blow. I'm gonna tell you how great they are,
so no one's gonna look at me and say, oh,
(06:35):
the Lakers are garbage or they're trash, or how embarrassing.
Even with Lebron, everybody talks about how great he is
and the numbers he's still putting up, and nobody gives
him a damn chance.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
I get it o case.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
He's a defending champs and they are a hell of
a team, but to crown them with one championship that
they wanted, the greatest teams of all time? Can you stop?
Can you pump the breaks? Can you give us a break?
JJ Reddick is full of boloney. JJ Redick is a
three dollar bill. JJ Reddick is disingenuous. It's coach b Keith.
(07:16):
He's trying to deflect and tell you there's nothing to
see here. He's warning Laker fans don't worry we are
losing because they're so great. I never heard of defeatist
attitude before you even get into a series. My god,
do you know that thing's called upsets? I'm not buying
(07:36):
JJ Reddick. Well you know JJ was in the media.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
This is a Jedi mind trick, and it's smart, honestly,
because the almighty Lakers don't even belong on the court
with one of the greatest teams of all time. If
he's right about them, they might go back to back
champs and they're gonna say Hey, JJ was trying to
tell us, and you know what it is. It's you
underpromise and you hope that you overperform. If the Lakers
win one game, and then it's like, ooh, look at
(08:01):
the Lakers. Look at the job JJ's doing. If they
win two games, Oh, we got a series now. And
you know, he's just kind of like you said, throwing
platitudes at him this off in the blow.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
I get it.
Speaker 4 (08:10):
I understand it. I would do the same thing. I
would be like, hey, huh, listen, these guys are great.
We don't belong on the same hardwood as these guys.
It's gonna be a tough series. Maybe it's also a
Jedi mind trick to get in their heads where they
kind of come in thinking it's gonna be sweet they've
been off for a little while.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
Maybe even get that first game. No, they're not getting
that first game. It smiting and a half point under
the gold again smoothed.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
You think Vegas gives away fifteen and a half points.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
No, seriously, they.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
Look at this and go, no, there's no match up here.
What are you talking about? Ain't no way. Ariita Franklin
sang that song Alex can we get that. Ain't no way,
Ariita Franklin. Ain't no way, But he's gonna sit here
and tell you that they're the greatest.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
Just call it. I believe in my god.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
I know on paper we're over match, we're not supposed
to compete and win this thing, but I believe in
my guys. This is it, Areta, let's hear it. This
is JJ Reddick on the piano. Was Aretha Franklin's gonna
be singing?
Speaker 3 (09:16):
Keith?
Speaker 1 (09:18):
There you go, Ain't no way, Aretha Franklin. JJ Reddick
on the piano. He don't love the Lakers. He just
said it. He's too busy flossing the OKC thunder. They
say lossing? Is that what it iss?
Speaker 3 (09:38):
Glazing? You know what I'm saying. Yeah, glazing, that's what
he's doing. Close.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Okay, hey.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
You get my point, Keith Man. Yeah, I knew what
she was getting at what you were alluding to. I
hate it. I hate it, man. Where's the competition? Do
you know? There've been some great upsets in sports history?
They really have. There have been some. That's why we play.
That's why we love the games.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
You know why it's the ultimate reality TV it is.
That's why the only thing that moves the needle today
in today's society live sporting events and national news.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
That's all.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
Nothing else. Nobody watches television like that. Nobody cares about
movies being dropped all not like this because we don't
know what's gonna happen. That's why we watch. If we
knew all the time that the home team or the
best team was gonna win, Keith, it would be it
wouldn't even be interesting. The Yankees. The Yankees have a
(10:46):
great tradition. They haven't won since two thousand and nine. Oh,
why you gotta go there? Because I'm just trying to
make the case that it ain't automatic. It ain't automatic.
The Dodgers, right, they've won back to back. Last year,
the Blue Jays had eight chances to beat them in.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
The World Series. Would you agree eight? Or did? And
they couldn't get it done.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
And that's how the Dodgers won their back to back
World Series.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
That's why we gamble on this stuff.
Speaker 4 (11:14):
That's why you know somebody's gonna get paid fifty thousand
dollars to go watch the World Cup. That's why sports
are undefeated in ratings and in ticket sales, and there
are a million shows like the one we're doing right now,
and there's gonna be another one after and it goes
on all day and all night across this great country
and globe with people talking sports because we care. Why
(11:34):
do we care so much? Because it's unknown, the results
are unknown. We can't wait to see what happens. One percent,
one hundred percent. All right, Uh, it is the couple
on the trash talking Tuesday and coming up. Wemby's coordination
may have You may have to put.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
It on hold, Okay, because everybody was ready to coordinate
this guy and we might have to do that. We'll
continue that next. We'll talk about Wimby or Gumby, whatever
you want to call him. It is the Odd Couple.

And Keith, you are I own the Timberwolves again. After
one game? You are all about the t Wolves. Are
(14:05):
they dangerous? Can they get past Wemby and knowsa Spurs?
Speaker 4 (14:11):
Yeah, I gotta add one one game to my name,
that's my one name game. I liked what I saw,
you know, I just look at the team, and I
look at their resilience. When you lose Dante DiVincenzo Io
slow mo, and everybody's ready to write you off because
you're facing Nikola Jokic and a team that has won
a championship. I know they didn't have Aaron Gordon, but
they you know, that's a team that has been battle
(14:32):
tested and has gone the distance and has a multiple
time MVP. Everybody was ready to write them off and
say what they could not do, and they showed a
lot of grit, you know, not having an ant man,
they went out there and guys like Julius Randall, Like
I watched a lot of Julius Randall here in New York.
I'm proud of that guy, Like he's grown up a lot,
matured a lot, he's ready for the role he's in McDaniels.
(14:56):
They've got veterans Mike Conley. Like that's another thing too
about the team, their face, and they just have guys
that have done it. Nas Reid, he's from around the way,
Like they just have I think the right mentality, the
right metal. I think they're a gritty team. I think
they're locked in. I know it is just one game.
They shot a little bit better than them, they rebounded
a little bit better than them, and ultimately in Game
(15:17):
one they were better than them. Is that going to
go the distance for a five, six, seven game series.
I don't know, but I was impressed with the Timberwolves
coming off of what they did to end the Nugget
season and then to start in San Antonio against Wenby
and the Spurs and quiet all that hype down.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
Yeah, I get it.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
And you win a game on the road we talk
about in the playoffs is where people go, wow, Okay,
they did a real deal, because we talk about the
playoffs starting every time a road team wins a game,
and they did it to start the whole series and
the expectations for the Spurs. But again, it's one game.
(15:55):
It's a seven game series. Beating a team four times
is hard. And we've seen ant Man and the Timberwolves
the last couple of years right where people were ready.
I remember two years ago they had them in the finals.
Remember that they didn't get it done.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
Last year. They couldn't get it done.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
Like they have a hurdle to jump over, and I'm
not sure the hurdle is not too steep because Wemby's
going to play better, He's not going to have that
kind of and I know he had went twelve blocks
and all kinds of stuff, but didn't shoot like he
could have. And they only lost by two. And it
doesn't matter if you lose by two or forty. They
(16:35):
won the game. I say it all the time. Sports
has a short menu, it's wins and losses. But I
just again, Minnesota is one of those teams that I
have to see it happened for them.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
I still like the Spurs.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
I didn't think the Spurs were gonna sweep them or
anything like that. So it wasn't the idea that the
San Antonio wasn't gonna lose any games, you know, it
ain't like JJ and the Lakers, where people don't expect
them to be able to stay in the building with uh, Okay, see,
this is supposed to be a series. Uh. The Spurs
(17:11):
are young, they got an unbelievable player in Wimby, but
the Timberwolves have been knocking on the door the last
couple of years, so I just expected more, not a
runaway on either side. I still like the Spurs even
though they're down one nothing in the series.
Speaker 4 (17:29):
Yeah, I feel like a lot of people obviously do
want to see the Spurs versus Okay see, because the
Spurs stepped to them a couple of times in the
regular season. Right, it's you know, it's the more you know,
it's what you want to see is the more flashy,
glamorous matchup to see them advanced. But I'm telling you,
Chris Finch and this bunch, they're gritty, they have the metal.
(17:49):
I can't think of the other words for just a
veteran team that is bonded together and focused right now,
and they're overcoming injuries and they're saying, you know, we've
got enough with what we have.
Speaker 3 (17:59):
We're gonna play. Everybody's gonna play.
Speaker 4 (18:01):
We're gonna find a way to get it done and
have an ant Man backed Wolverine, the young boy that's
able to recover like that. You know, it just flipped
the script for them, because once you see ant Man
go down, it's like, oh, they're cooked. That's their main guy.
He's bad, no doubt.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
I mean, if if you are a Timberwolves fan, you're
feeling good and went into the they did exactly what
you want to do, which is still one on the
road right, thinking you could come home win two and
then you're up three to one like that is the
game plan that gives you the best chance to win.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
It's not that easy.
Speaker 1 (18:35):
All the Spurs have to do, obviously, is win and
then go to Minnesota and take one to get the
series back to where they want to. So it's not
impossible for the Spurs to come back and win two
games in a row, or three games in a row
for that matter.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
I expected to be a series.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
It would have been an even better series if Minnesota
was fully healthy, you know, and wasn't missing anybody. So
I'm looking forward to it. I'm not down on Winby,
not down on the Spurs. I'm still believing in that
young team I don't think they do. I don't know
if they're gonna get to the championship, but I do
want to see that series them and okay see, it
would be great.
Speaker 4 (19:11):
Yeah, I don't even mentioned Rudy go Beart. We we
the Frenchman facing off. Like that's a big matchup, right there,
Go Bear versus Wenby. Wenby wants to knock him off.
Wenby feels like he's already better than him, and obviously
the multiple time Defensive Player of the Year has got
something to say about that. Like there's a you know,
a very intriguing match up here for the rest of
the series. I don't care who wins. I know that
(19:33):
the sexy pick is to have the Spurs go face
okay see, assuming that okay see is there. But I
think there's this is gonna be a battle. I think,
you know, the Spurs will play differently. Wemby will assert himself.
He has to be the star, he has to be
the guy. He can't have eleven points like a guy
off the bench had eleven points. But you know, it's
a long series. It's only game one. I just I
(19:54):
got to put respect on the Minnesota timber Wolves because
they could have tucked their tails.
Speaker 3 (19:57):
They could have laid down and died.
Speaker 4 (19:59):
They could have easily been I'm like, ah, man, you
know we don't have our full compliment of players.
Speaker 3 (20:03):
Now the rest of these guys stepped up all right, eight.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
Seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven nine
nine six sixty three sixty nine. If you want to
start lining up for trash talking, because coming up next
we're gonna talk with Michael Grady from NBA on Prime
NBA on NBC.
Speaker 3 (20:20):
You know him from the Nets, right.
Speaker 4 (20:21):
We go back, man, we still live in the same
hood and work with the Brooklyn Nets.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
Yeakay, So Michael Grady's coming up.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
We'll talk to him, but first let's get you caught
up with mister Steve de Seger.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
listen live.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
All right, Steve, thank you, It is the odd couple
on a trash Talking Tuesday. Rob Parker, Keith McPherson in
for Kelvin Washington. Kelvin will be back tomorrow here on
the program. And uh now, let's walk in out, guess
Michael Gradyoho, of course from NBA on Prime and NBA
(21:05):
on NBC, and we know Keith throws him from the
nets when he did net stuff, and we know he
worked for the Timberwolves.
Speaker 3 (21:12):
Welcome to the Odd cuple. I don't think you've ever
been on before? Am I wrong? Michael?
Speaker 8 (21:18):
I'm gonna have to check my text. That's how I know.
I think I've been on before. Yeah, it's just been
a minute. It's been a minute.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
I was gonna say, maybe you're right, it's just been
a minute. Welcome to the show. Appreciate you, my man.
I do want to start with the Timberwolves, since you
did work there, and just the idea of them stealing
Game one and how big that.
Speaker 3 (21:38):
Could be in this series against the Spurs.
Speaker 8 (21:42):
I think it's gonna be big. You know, San Antonio.
They are the two seat for a reason. They're legit,
They're an outstanding team. Victor Winbinyama is tremendous. But the
one question that a lot of folks had about the
San Antonio Spurs was just that of experience. It's a young,
dynamic group, but there is something to be said about
having gone through the postseason battles, and after getting past Portland,
(22:08):
you know, in the opening round, a team that obviously
didn't have postseason experience itself. Now they're facing the Minnesota
squad that's been to the Western Conference Finals two years
in a row, that know what it's like to go
through the wars and what it takes to navigate the
postseason and get into a conference finals, and Minnesota is
motivated to take it a step further this season. So
(22:30):
it was big to get game one, and it also
big obviously to get Anthony Edwards back out there. I
gues it's remarkable. He's long been called Wolverine around the Timberwolves,
with the training staff and his teammates, the way his
just ridiculous ability to recover in a short amount of time.
(22:50):
That was a nasty hyper extension. So for him to
come out there, give his team a boost, give him
to give him everything he had was inspiring across the board.
You add that to the you know, greats coaching job
by Chris Finch and the experience factor. As I said before,
it was a big win from Minnesota, and now San
Antonio has to you know, make some adjustments of their
(23:11):
own and figure things.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
Out and grow up quick, Grady. What's up?
Speaker 8 (23:15):
Man?
Speaker 4 (23:15):
Is good to hear from you, Keith mcpheers and here
in New York feeling in for Kelvin Washing team one.
Super proud of you. Everybody over in Nets world is
proud of you. You got out of there at the
right time, out.
Speaker 8 (23:27):
The time it is. Uh. You know, Brooklyn still home.
I live in I live in Brooklyn, and so it's
it's much love, uh for sure, But no doubt, man.
I I left right at the as that KD Kyrie
Irving James Hard and Harrow was coming to a close,
(23:47):
and then I hitched my wagon to Anthony Edwards. Never
would have known that it would gone this would have
gone this way, and I certainly didn't expect the Nets
to go the direction that they went in the last
few years. But it's going to look up for them.
It gonna get a good pick I like Jordy, and
it's still a vibe at Barkley Center. But those are
some good years, Keith.
Speaker 4 (24:06):
Well, here's a New York based question for you. Julius Randall.
I know you remember seeing him with the Knicks. You
know he took a lot of flak being the leader.
Speaker 3 (24:13):
Of the Knicks. He got frustrated.
Speaker 4 (24:14):
He was hitting mac books out of coaches hands and
doing the thumbs down. And you know he always had
like a rough go with the Knicks. You know, it's tough,
it's New York. Can you speak to his maturity? Can
you speak to like I feel like he's a different
guy in Minnesota and that probably was the best thing
to happen to him. He's so mature now in his
career after a couple of different stops. Can you speak
about you know, what you've seen in Julius Randall in
(24:36):
the role he's playing for the Timberwolves.
Speaker 8 (24:38):
Yeah, Keith, it just it just takes time with a
couple of things there. Number One, as you said, it's
it's hard to be a star player in New York.
It's a starves fan base that's so desperate for excellence,
a deep postseason run. And I think any star player
on that roster over the years has stelped that pressure,
(25:01):
has felt whether it's the intimidation of the moment, whatever
it may be, and just that pressure. And so yeah,
I'm sure he would be the first movement that there
was time that he didn't handle it well, I'm sure
he would also acknowledge that there was a lot of
stuff that wasn't fair, but it comes with the territory
when you're a leader on the New York Knicks. Last
(25:22):
season wasn't smooth failing from the start for Julius Randall
because that trade happened a day before the start of
training camp, and so you can just imagine the shockwave
through your system and through your whole family of I'm thinking,
I'm getting ready to start training camp with the New
York Knicks, and now I'm dealt to Minnesota, and I
got to get accustomed to an entirely different team. And
(25:43):
it wasn't until towards the end of the season where
he really started building a chemistry with the guys around him.
Then you fast forward to the start of this season.
He had a full off season to get accustomed to
what it's like to live in Minnesota, get his family
fully moved in and comfortable, and he was just different
guy at the start of this season. So I think
there's also great balance on this Minnesota squad. You know,
(26:06):
Ant is obviously the guy, Rudy Gobert as the anchor
on defense. You got Nasri coming off the bench, and
what he's able to do with his dynamic presence. He
has a much more defined role on this Minnesota squad
in a role that I think he's comfortable with, and
I think he's settled in really well. So I think
he's matured. I think this trade has worked out. You know,
(26:28):
you don't see a lot of trades where you say, oh,
this is pretty even on both sides. I would say
that trades are not going to be pretty even.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
Our guest is Michael Grady, of course, NBA on Prime
and NBA on NBC play by play man. I want
to change gears and talk about the Lakers and Oka
se Vegas is counting out the Lakers at fifteen and
a half points underdogs, and we also heard JJ Reddick.
(26:54):
Of course, the Lakers coach already crowned Okac is one
of the greatest teams of all time, according to him.
Speaker 3 (27:00):
Do the Lakers have a shot?
Speaker 1 (27:01):
Is this a four game sweep or or what are
we watching here with no Luca.
Speaker 8 (27:06):
I again, all respects to the Lakers. You know, a
fan of that group of fandom, JJ, you know they
took care of business against Houston. I just really don't
see very many, very many roads that leads to a
series when for the l A Lakers, even if Luca
(27:27):
comes back, I just I just really don't see it
because of what what JJ is alluding to. This being
one of the best, you know, better teams as symbols,
and they're a hungry team. They're they're not a squad
that's satisfied. They dealt with injuries throughout the entire year,
and everybody that that Mark Dagnall put out on the
floor just played like a rabid bunch of dogs and
(27:49):
it was just it was really impressive to watch the desire,
uh the defensive intensity and the focus. It's easy to
get satisfied after a championship, and so the way that
they approached this year, even with all the injuries, to
have the excellence that they had and knowing that they
(28:10):
need to get ready for this moment. Now, they're just
a hunger group. They're just a really hunger group. And
it's been a while since we've seen a repeat champion.
I think, Okay, see Barndon injury is going to have
every opportunity to do that this season. I don't think
it'll be a sweet rob but I can see a
gentleman sweep.
Speaker 3 (28:29):
Yeah, all right, one more Keith.
Speaker 4 (28:31):
Yeah, you mentioned James Harden being in Brooklyn in that
Big Three era and we've obviously seen him go to
multiple different teams and now he's with Kenny Atkinson who
was in Brooklyn and I know you were there, you know,
covering the nets during that era and Jared Allen Solee.
I could keep bringing it back around to our Brooklyn nets.
What do you think about the Cavs. What do you
think about their chances with Detroit.
Speaker 8 (28:52):
I like Cleveland, as you mentioned, all the all the
connections going back to Brooklyn with Kenny and Jared Allen
and guys like that, those guys the coaching staff as well.
I was really underwhelmed with how they performed against Toronto.
I think the main reason that series with Toronto with
seven games was because the Raptors simply played harder than
the Cavaliers, and if they had a little bit more talent,
(29:14):
they're disposed of, whether it be a brandon ingram or
an emmanual quickly. In that series, plus the factor of
playing harder than the Cavaliers, I think it would be
Detroit against Toronto right now. I just can't really explain
why Toronto simply from a hustle, extra efforts. Standpoint outplayed Cleveland,
so now they and because they didn't really ramp it
(29:36):
up the way that they needed to. Now they're playing
a Detroit team that, Okay, you can say they won
seven games with an A seed, but that wasn't your
typical eight seed in Orlando. So I just see the
aggression of Detroit. I see their physicality. I love how
hard they play, even if they're struggling on the offensive end.
And I think they're gonna I think they're gonna overwhelm
the Cavaliers. And I don't know how long this particular
(29:59):
series is going to go, but I just think that
that Destroit is needed to get over that hump over Orlando,
and now they can sort of exhale, continue to dig
into what they do, and they're going to be.
Speaker 1 (30:10):
A tough out need all right, Michael Grady, appreciate you.
Thanks for joining the odd Couple, my man. Thank you

a kick a field, go man.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
All right, let's kick it off with the Lightning Rod
in Detroit. You're on the couple Fox Sports Radio. Who
you trashing Lightning Rod?
Speaker 7 (32:11):
Oh? Just a whole group of people. And you're probably
in that mix to as well. Because I got the
trash bag, right, I got the trash bag, and what's
going into the trash? People talking trash about the Lakers
cannot be okay? See they can be okay. See, first
of all, you have the ultimate player coach in Lebron James.
You got the ultimate connection of Ebony and Ivory. They
(32:34):
could go down as the Magic Johnson and Larry Bird
of this current current day if they work it together right,
if they work their connection together right, they can be okay.
See as far as people talking about Lebron, James is old,
first of all, he's the only older person on there.
The other cats are thull brid young, young, young dogs.
(32:54):
So if Lebron needs to take a break and sit
on the bench, get back in, do his player coach thing,
work the straight the whole thing, the narrative correctly. It'll
all work out. It can be Okaycee, and it's time
for OKAC to lose. And I'm trashing anybody thinking that
Keln Cheppernick cannot should not have a tryout in black host,
any black GM that's not going to give this man
(33:15):
a chance, I'm trashing them as well.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
All right, you got a full trush bag. We got
you all over the place. Yeah, okay, eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox. I know rob G wants to
try somebody. I know Keith has somebody in his bag.
I just I already know.
Speaker 3 (33:32):
This one's personal for you.
Speaker 5 (33:33):
I'm trashing producer Shane, who's in here eating lunch during
the show. Two weeks ago, Shane calls me real heart
to heart, crying on the phone. Rob Gie, I want
to be part of the show. I want to do
all your social media clips, whatever it takes. I love
the odd couple. And now he's leaving, he's going on
to another station. And then on top of that, rob G,
I'm doing this new show. I need all the tips
(33:53):
you can get you how to make this show like
pick Aside. Bro got a promise, Shane, No.
Speaker 1 (33:58):
That's all right, I'm stand it. Shay all over the place.
Congratulations model top all right. Keith, what you got? Who
you trash?
Speaker 3 (34:07):
We got more?
Speaker 1 (34:07):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox Call in you
want to jump in?
Speaker 3 (34:11):
You got time? Keith? Who you got? We got?
Speaker 4 (34:14):
Caller from Detroit to this back to twenty thirteen with
Kaepernick and Lebron. He must be thinking about twenty twelve,
twenty thirteen, Kaepernick and Lebron. But let's stay in Detroit.
Framburgh Valdez. Just go to any search engine and type
in Framber Valdez. I don't know what is wrong with Bro.
He's got an attitude. He is trash. If you remember
last year when he was with the Houston Astros, he
(34:36):
crossed up his catcher, Sezar Salazar. Yeah, he threw a
ball to hit him because he was mad after he
gave up a homer. So he gets mad again tonight
the Tigers are facing the Red Sox. He gives up
a couple homers. He hits Trevor Story. The bench is clear.
It's all over the Twitter timeline, baseball people talking about it.
Got what hone off the game with Framberg Valdez. This
(34:57):
guy's a trash can I'm trashing him because he's got
an attitude. That's why the whole winter nobody wanted to
sign him. And then the only place that signed him
was his former manager, A. J. Hinch, who came from
the Astros who's now with Detroit. They said, come on,
we got to bring him in, especially with what just
happened with school Boy. Imagine they didn't have fran Burvaldez.
That guy's trash. Nobody's gonna want him in any clubhouse.
(35:18):
I don't want to see him again. There's something wrong
with this guy. He needs an attitude adjustment.
Speaker 3 (35:22):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (35:22):
How about MJ in New Orleans join the odd couple
of fox sportsuating?
Speaker 3 (35:26):
Who you trashing?
Speaker 7 (35:27):
MJ?
Speaker 11 (35:29):
I'm trashing the new media number Cameron Gows aka Killer Cham.
Have you guys heard what this guy told Screaming eight
this morning that if Lebron wins another championship, it's two
because Brian's on the squad. Have you heard that? Hey man?
Every year there is if Lebron does this with that magic.
(35:53):
If he loses again this year, should he give up
to rings.
Speaker 8 (35:56):
I'm with that.
Speaker 11 (35:57):
I'm trashing that guy.
Speaker 9 (35:59):
You guys have a great.
Speaker 3 (36:00):
Show, appreciate it. Yeah, it's always a cam. It's always
some new.
Speaker 1 (36:05):
Rules or trying to figure out how you can get
him some more rings. How about Kurt in North Dakota.
You're in the Odd Couple of Fox Sports Radio. Who
you trashing? Kurt?
Speaker 9 (36:16):
Thanks for taking my call, Rob. I'm gonna trash Keith McPherson,
just gently, Keith, because I love you, I respect you.
But earlier in the show, you said there are a
million shows like this one, and you're exactly wrong. Keith.
There's only one show like the Odd Couple, and there's
a million shows that want to be like the DCH Couple,
Thecht Couples of Family. You've got listeners from over the country.
(36:36):
They feel great respect to their to the yacht couple
of crew, and uh, that's really all I got.
Speaker 3 (36:43):
So, yeah, you misinterpreted. I'm always I'm a fan of
the show.
Speaker 4 (36:47):
I'm saying there's a ton of sports talk shows because
we love sports.
Speaker 3 (36:52):
That wasn't a shot at fun. I'm updating my trash.
Speaker 5 (36:54):
I'm trashing Kurt in North Dakota for saying that there's
only one art that is a lie.
Speaker 3 (36:59):
What is Rob that?
Speaker 5 (37:00):
I've been seven different versions of the Odd Couple, all
including Rob Parker, but that's different.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
One was nothing unique about this show.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
One was local, one was a year thirty years ago,
one was twenty years ago.
Speaker 3 (37:11):
It was a brand. That's right, not five. That's all good.
I sit back to the bar, not seven.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
I know my own radio partner in Detroit, Mike Stone,
He's always like, oh yeah, I went to the original whatever.
Speaker 3 (37:24):
Then there was Chris.
Speaker 1 (37:24):
This was one in a million, and now you all right,
stick and stay
