Achy knee, stiff, back joints not cooperating. That's why some

doing it. And on those days, luckily, as a leave,
just one pill a leave provides up to twelve hours
of pay relief so that you can keep moving. Use
as directed, and don't forget to check out the Fox

highlights from our shows. I know, Shae was just saying
Kelvin the other day, man, do you guys have seven
of the top ten YouTube videos on the channel.
Speaker 5 (01:19):
Ten?
Speaker 3 (01:19):
I know he said, you guys are slacking. You know
what I'm saying, but be short to subscribe.
Speaker 6 (01:24):
Who's the other three?
Speaker 3 (01:25):
I have no idea, so you never missed. I think
they are three old odd couple episodes. Yeah, is that
what it is? Okay' yes, be be short of subscribe
so that you never miss our very best Fox Sports
Radio videos on YouTube. Don't forget coming up in about
twenty seven minutes Darren Smith, of course, he's a Kansas
(01:46):
City radio host and chiefs reporter. Will talk to him.
You know, some stuff fall out on Rice and what's
happening there.
Speaker 4 (01:53):
We'll do that.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
So we have a lot to do in this our
number two. But first, Kelvin Shane's gonna set the table here. Yeah, okay, Shay, Yeah,
that's okay, you can set the table. That's okay.
Speaker 7 (02:04):
I don't remember saying the seven out of ten thing,
but I'll definitely set this table.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
Don't don't kill the good story if you we're dealing
with a lot, Rob exactly. Just accept what Rob says
and okay, I accept it. I accept okay, but do
you have no problems? Uh?
Speaker 6 (02:23):
You rich the table exactly. You're trying not to.
Speaker 4 (02:26):
I'm trying not to.
Speaker 6 (02:27):
Say it, but you can't. You can't help it at all.
I look at it. I wish you were here, Kelvin.
Speaker 4 (02:31):
Just okay, Richard, that's all good. Set the table.
Speaker 7 (02:35):
Richard Jefferson has recently made headlines Can I set the table?
Speaker 6 (02:39):
Kevin?
Speaker 4 (02:39):
Go ahead?
Speaker 7 (02:40):
Richard Jefferson has recently made headlines for predicting that Team
USA will not be will not win the twenty twenty
eight Olympics and uh. He believes that other countries, mostly France,
will have a more cohesive and talent roster by then,
potentially surpassing the American team's star power. Jefferson's reasoning center
is that the US really relies on those individual players,
(03:03):
while other countries have been seeing those more cohesive or
better chemistry team team plays. So what do you think
about this? Do you think the US has a chance
at all? Or do you think that Richard Jefferson is right?
Speaker 5 (03:16):
Rob?
Speaker 6 (03:18):
Well, I'm gonna lise with like this for me this one.
I get his point.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
I think he's absolutely right to question it and consider it, buddy,
But I think he's wrong.
Speaker 6 (03:28):
Will there be great games?
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Will you need a herculean a flurry from somebody to
get it done?
Speaker 6 (03:34):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (03:34):
Now, he went on to talk about how we're losing KD,
We're losing Lebron, We're gonna lose stuph You know, these
guys are gonna age out.
Speaker 6 (03:41):
But here's what I just believe.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
I just believe eventually, they continue to find ways to
get it done. They continue to find ways to win.
And I think at the end of the day, we're
too deep. Rop when you look at the last ten
appearances we've had that I just looked up the last
ten Olympics with the men's basketball team. We won nine
goals and the only time that didn't happen the Brons.
Remember that was back in two thousand and four in Athens,
(04:03):
and that was that time. I believe Argentina got us
and we were upset about that, and that's when we
just stepped up. You had the redeemed team and all
that with Kobe and Lebron and Mellow and the guys,
and I just think we're too deep the challenge.
Speaker 6 (04:14):
This is why I think the other teams are challenged.
I will admit.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
They'll have two or three guys, right you guys for
your Serbia, you got Joki arguld be the best player
in the world. But the thing that I think separates
US is five through ten. I don't think everyone else
is five through ten are on our level, and.
Speaker 6 (04:31):
That to me is one of the separators.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
I think they'll always have two or three guys you know,
that are right there. They're NBA guys, right, They're NBA
guys that are just playing for their home countries. But
I think ultimately we're too deep and we have too
much talent, and it usually prevails.
Speaker 6 (04:46):
Now, the team of Sneaky one is Team.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Canada because you got RJ. Bart, who played some of
the best basketball his career this year. Obviously, you have
the reigning MVP and finals MVP in SGA. You mul Murray,
an All Star light guy, Andrew Nimhart, and then you
got Dylan Brooks, you got Lou Dort, Trey Lyles, you
got Kelly Olennok. So that's the team that kind of like, ooh,
(05:11):
they got some real dudes over there. But ultimately, Rob,
this is our game. We reigned supreme. We'll let it
be close. We'll hit a couple of game winners.
Speaker 6 (05:21):
But you had say you had sick you at say
we ain't losing hoops. Brother.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
I get his point as well, and as time goes on,
and I understand what he's talking about with the you know,
other countries having a more cohesive unit, and there's a
changing of the guard. But there is always a chance
when you put in some younger players, people who haven't
been on that stage, right, who haven't done it as much.
(05:52):
We saw Jason Tatum right not even get to play.
Speaker 6 (05:56):
Right, and but that experience was huge for him.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
No, but I'm just saying, like he didn't even get
a chance to play, and now you're gonna have it's
a changing of the guard.
Speaker 4 (06:04):
I don't think that this is a crazy take, cause.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
You are going to you are going to miss people
who have done it and won medals, you know what
I mean, and have had that experience. So I know
you want to always believe that it's always just going
to continue. But there was a down and dark period
for USA basketball, right you remember that, like, yeah, oh, four.
Speaker 6 (06:27):
That's what I meant four. And when they ended up
getting the bronze right.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
There, there was like it was like unbelievable that that
the US And then you start to look and we
talk about all the time about the MVPs, and I
know it's not enough. It doesn't mean that because the
Americans can't win an MVP anymore, that that's going to
translate totally over to uh, you know, the Olympics. But
(06:51):
there's reason that until you see the new corps, the
new group of players together and see them actually go
and compete, I think they are a disadvantage. And I
don't think Kelvin that they're the overriding favorites, even from
the United States.
Speaker 4 (07:07):
I really don't.
Speaker 5 (07:08):
Here.
Speaker 6 (07:08):
Here's another thing I'll add. I think everything they.
Speaker 4 (07:11):
Look at France.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
You know, they just talked about France got yeah, you
got friend, just have like three.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
Three top picks from France in the last few years, right, not.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
To mention Weinby's sitting there too, so I mean obviously
he played, he played this possible.
Speaker 6 (07:23):
You got, you got.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
France, you got Serbia, You've got Canada as teams that
are going to be formidable. Here's my thing, though, I
think the good thing about all this is we know this.
Speaker 6 (07:33):
I think the good thing about this we hear this.
I think the good thing about.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
This is the young players are sick of hearing about, oh,
we don't have American MVPs. All the world is catching up,
And I think That's why the system, the program, our
our international basketball program.
Speaker 6 (07:47):
Is taking this so seriously.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
While they're getting guys to buy in even in non
Olympic years, to getting guys to compete every couple of years,
they're getting them so that they're building up the program
so that Jason Tatum may not have played a lot
in this past one twenty four last year, but now
he's got those reps, that experience and understands what it takes.
That's why two thousand and eight was huge with the
Redeemed team because Kobe Bryant was there to show Lebron,
(08:10):
to show d Wade, to show mellow. No y'all think
y'all go hard, this is going hard. All you thought
you practice hard, This is practicing hard. And if you
watched any of those documentaries, read any of the stories
and articles, you know that's what Kobe brought. And I
think that's why Jason Tatum, Tyree's Halliburton BAM if BAM
is out of about you is to beat on the
(08:31):
team as well. But my point is you need those
young guys to see it so that four years from now,
which in twenty twenty eight in this case, they'll be
locked in loading ready like oh no, no, no, young fella,
this is how you do it.
Speaker 6 (08:41):
Ann Edwards, who also played, played as well.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
So hav an aunt there Tyre's Halliburton Bam Jason Tatum
was huge. Having those young guys so that they're so
locked in for twenty twenty eight that you don't have
to teach him.
Speaker 6 (08:54):
They can just teach the young guys.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
You already got some vets who are ready to do
it because the world is definitely there. The world is coming,
and it's not crazy to think we could lose. I
just think ultimately we find a way to eke it
out and get it done.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Yeah, I hear you, but I'm not as confident and convinced.
I'm actually going to side with Richard Jefferson on this
that there's a huge possibility and it might take Kelvin
and Olympics to get there, do you know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (09:21):
It might take one and somebody.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
With a more experienced team or that have been together longer,
you know what I mean, and maybe a little older,
and you know how it is, could could actually beat
to the United States and find them still trying to
find their way. So I'm gonna side with Richard Jefferson,
and I'm gonna say that the US of A won't
(09:46):
be the favorite and quite possibly could lose in the Olympics.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Jalen Brunson, They're gonna bring a whole bunch of young, young,
talented Americans, and France is gonna lose some of these
guys that have been the Batoons and the.
Speaker 6 (10:01):
A couple other players. Rudy Gobert might be out.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
They're gonna lose some of those guys while we're talking abouts.
Speaker 4 (10:06):
But not the wholesale change of the United States as have.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
Well, that's why again, having those our guys there now,
the Tatums, the halle Burns, the and Edwards like Edwards
in three more years is gonna be crazy. Tatum's gonna
be even better, Jaylen Brown will be you know, whoever,
Jalen Brunton, whoever they we end up sending are gonna
be incredible. But the world that listen, the world is
hooping ninety two Olympic team, the Dream Team is the
reason why we're struggling. We sent our pros that year
(10:33):
and created the atmosphere now where now we got to
compete hard as that because that team inspired the world
to play basketball and got everybody excited about hoops and
now the whole world just think.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
About where they were the dream team. I couldn't even
watch those games.
Speaker 6 (10:47):
They were blowing them out by forty.
Speaker 4 (10:48):
It was just it was unwatchable. I'm kidding.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
I watched, you know, like the beginning, just to see
Jordan and Barkley and all those guys on the court together.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
But I was like, dude, the same basketball, you know, you.
Speaker 6 (11:00):
Know what I mean.
Speaker 8 (11:00):
It was.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
It was ridiculous. Have you watched any of those games,
like on tape or whatever? Did you watch those?
Speaker 6 (11:07):
Yeah? I was watching it.
Speaker 5 (11:08):
I was.
Speaker 6 (11:08):
I was old enough, I was I was all in.
Speaker 4 (11:11):
Was like, but you know what I'm talking They were bad.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
Oh yeah, you were watching it to see how many
dunks will Pipping and Jordan get? How many do would
Larry Bird shoot? You know, five sixtrees, which, by the way,
was a lot back then. You just wanted to watch
the fan fare. How bad would they beat them? Guys
were asking for autographs during the game, trying to put
their armorround. It was like that scene from Coming to
America when they come out of the bathroom. May I
have my picture with you? It's like, hold on, that'll
(11:36):
be in the middle of the game right now, let
me asking for a picture. So yeah, I just think
that ninety two team is a reason why we're struggling
right now. Why so hard to beat these teams because
they've been hooping ever since the rest of the world
and caught.
Speaker 4 (11:47):
Up, no doubt, all right?
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine, six sixty three sixty nine. USA basketball Is
it steady as it goes and everything will be just fine,
there's plenty of USA talent or could there be trouble
in the water, As Richard Jefferson said, that's right, big time.
Speaker 4 (12:12):
We want to hear from you.
Speaker 3 (12:13):
What do you think going forward the Olympics where USA
basketball is eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
Speaker 4 (12:20):
We know there's a changing up the guard, but Kelvin.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
Thinks there's plenty of guard to change and will be
just good or not? Eight seven seven ninety nine on
Fox eight seven seven, nine, nine, six sixty three sixty nine.
Speaker 4 (12:33):
It is the odd.
Speaker 3 (12:34):

Speaker 1 (13:48):
Darren Smith, Kansas City Radio Hosts and Chiefs reporter We'll
talk some NFL action with him in just a little
bit right now, Rob and I talking about Richard Jefferson
went on the pod and recently talked about the idea
that he he believes Team USA may lose in twenty twenty.
Speaker 6 (14:03):
Eight Olympics here in Los Angeles. Is definite world specific Yeah, no,
I'm right, he said.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
He specifically said yeah, uh huh, and he mentioned that
the France would be obviously a team that could give
him a challenge.
Speaker 6 (14:16):
For sure. I think they pull it out ultimately.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
I think they're getting our you young crop ready, but
it is gonna be tough. Rob thinks is actually likely
they could lose come twenty twenty eight.
Speaker 6 (14:27):
What say you? Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
Who we got Robed Anthony in Washington. You're on the
couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Anthony? How you
doing doing great? How are you doing good?
Speaker 2 (14:38):
Great?
Speaker 9 (14:39):
Great, wonderful way.
Speaker 8 (14:40):
I'm excited for the weekend here.
Speaker 4 (14:42):
But you got big plans. What's going on?
Speaker 8 (14:45):
I'm going fishing very not fish fish every weekend. Yeah,
but as far as you know, USA, you gotta take it.
I mean you hear it every every time the Olympics
and the Olympics, not along the way, but every time
the Olympics coming around for the past three Olympics. Yeah,
everyone talk about the world catching up, the world catching up.
I don't necessarily I agree the world's catching up, but
(15:08):
I'm not concerned at all.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
But you gotta admit there's a big difference between ninety
two and the USA winning by forty or fifty points.
Speaker 4 (15:16):
Every game with the world. You remember back then.
Speaker 8 (15:18):
I mean, I'm not gonna think about that because I
was born in ninety three.
Speaker 3 (15:25):
Unfortunately, I was big into my career already back in
ninety three.
Speaker 4 (15:28):
My god, oh god, he was with pop Flag.
Speaker 8 (15:32):
We got Cooper Flag coming. Cameron, you can't forget Cameron.
Boozer is probably gonna be the next take coming up.
So we do got young guys, but I think it's
an advantage. We got the home court coming up in
twenty twenty eight, and by the next Olympics we'll win
that Nextlymping, there'll be more experienced. So I thank you
guys for taking my call and know you out.
Speaker 4 (15:49):
Thank you Anthony Pi a part man.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
Thank you for just getting keeping the young group ready.
So you got the Lebrons and kds. But then you
get the next grew ready so that they're the old
heads the next go round.
Speaker 6 (15:58):
Who we got JR?
Speaker 3 (16:00):
In Indianapolis, you're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (16:03):
What's up, JR?
Speaker 10 (16:05):
What's fellas? How you doing tonight?
Speaker 6 (16:07):
Doing great? How are you going to do?
Speaker 10 (16:09):
I'm doing good? You know. I'm in Kaitlyn Clarkville at WNBAU.
Speaker 4 (16:13):
Did they cat did they cancel that? Did they cancel
the All Star Game?
Speaker 6 (16:17):
Or no?
Speaker 10 (16:18):
Come man, it's a bigger picture. Even though she is
a big picture, it's still a bigger picture.
Speaker 6 (16:24):
Now, JR.
Speaker 3 (16:25):
Let me ask you, are you going, like what's the
atmosphere there in Indianapolis?
Speaker 10 (16:29):
The atmosphere is pretty it's pretty dynamic. We have another
event going on as well as the All Star Game,
So Indianapolis downtown is like really live right now.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
So and there's a chance that if I was downtown
I wouldn't get hit by a tumbleweek because there's too
many people out there.
Speaker 11 (16:47):
Stop here, Rob, stop, I'm doing the midweth like, go ahead.
I just feel like Rob, I very rarely agree with you. No, wow,
very rarely agree with you. But we don't have any
ogs like Kobe or in the league right now to
(17:07):
pass that tortell or even take the temperature to know
that we need to adjust. Kobe Salady lost in O four,
came back.
Speaker 10 (17:15):
This is what we're gonna do. This the game plan,
decide you're gonna win, and he ushered him to a
gold medal. Man right told us, I don't even want
that title. I don't want the responsibility on ont none
of that. Jason Tatum might not even be back to
the regular his regular self.
Speaker 5 (17:30):
Right.
Speaker 10 (17:31):
We might be in trouble because European teams played team ball.
Speaker 9 (17:35):
They always trump.
Speaker 4 (17:36):
Yeah, there's no doubt.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
Hold on, hold on with all this trump. We don't
want nine goals except one bronze back and four.
Speaker 10 (17:43):
Now I understand that. But you even having this conversation
right now, we know that the dynamic is trained.
Speaker 4 (17:51):
Know that I'm with you, Jay, are that that the dynamic.
Speaker 6 (17:55):
Has without a doubt.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
But listen, it's not business as, it's not businesses. It
hasn't made business used about twenty something.
Speaker 10 (18:02):
Right, Basketball is gonna win USA. Go No, No, I
agree with that.
Speaker 6 (18:06):
I agree with that.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
A j R.
Speaker 4 (18:08):
Enjoy Indianapolis and the w NB. Are you going, Yeah,
think that.
Speaker 10 (18:14):
Now I'm not going because I gotta work, but I
would go, Okay, I would. I still support women's basketball
and it needs to be out there.
Speaker 6 (18:23):
Have you went to and see Caitlyn played before?
Speaker 5 (18:25):
I have?
Speaker 10 (18:26):
And she's a killer? Hey everything she she is worth
the bill.
Speaker 6 (18:31):
Okay, right there you go that the bill is only
sixty something bucks. Now, Rob was just now.
Speaker 10 (18:37):
Come on down. Both of y'all all.
Speaker 6 (18:38):
Appreciate our family out there in Naptown for sure.
Speaker 3 (18:42):
John in South Carolina, you're in the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (18:46):
What's up, John?
Speaker 9 (18:48):
Hey, how you guys doing doing great?
Speaker 4 (18:49):
How are you buddy?
Speaker 5 (18:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (18:52):
So the first thing I want to say is I
think it was I think it was Robbed that made
the comment about ninety two changed everything. You got to
remember the saying be careful what you wish for, right.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
Yeah, that's true. Hey, uh John, thanks for the call
for radios up. We can't get the feedback.
Speaker 6 (19:14):
Andre like listening to yourself.
Speaker 4 (19:16):
I don't know why everybody does that. The first thing
when they I knew that, and I knew.
Speaker 7 (19:23):
He always say I could like I could hear your
radio on the back, like make sure if we put
you up to turn it off or if they're on speaker,
like I always tell them, but it happens a lot.
I think they get they get too excited. Say that's
what it is.
Speaker 3 (19:37):
There's an episode of Perry Mason about turning the radio
down when you call, and at the end that was
what he used to find the killer. And he said, remember,
when you call into a sport a radio talk show,
you have to.
Speaker 4 (19:51):
Turn your radio down. And that's how I got the guy.
Speaker 6 (19:54):
Was some concerned.
Speaker 4 (19:55):
I'm sorry, Right Andre in Massachusett, you're on the.
Speaker 6 (20:01):
Those episode numbers. It was episode no.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
I don't know, Andream Massachusetts joined the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 9 (20:09):
Hey how you doing?
Speaker 12 (20:10):
Thanks for taking a call. Shout out to Perry Mason.
Also Colombo, Okay.
Speaker 4 (20:15):
That's right.
Speaker 6 (20:16):
Any other lawyers and private eyes you want to hit, you.
Speaker 12 (20:19):
Know what I mean. Colomboy just reminded me he was
always gonna find who did the crime, and he knew
from the beginning, but he just worked his way in there.
So you know, Perry Mason in Colombo. But in terms
of Team USA, don't we don't need a private eye.
I think they're gonna keep it rolling right from twenty
twenty four right to the next Olympiad. As other callers
have said that the pantry is already being restocked. Cooper flag,
(20:43):
not just Cooper flag, the Cameron Boozer, who's going to
duke next year. People are gonna know his name. Aj
Debants are right here in the Commonwealth, the pride of Brockton, Massachusetts.
He's going to be out in YU doing his thing.
So we have the young Lions coming up, and then
we also have the younger players coming into their veteran status.
Im thinking about Anthony Edwards to lead the charge. You
can throw one of d Aaron Fox down there in
(21:03):
the Lone Star state. You know, people listen to Team
USA basketball used to be something that the players sure
and they didn't want to do it and they didn't
understand how it benefited them. Now based on the leadership
with Jerry Colangelo, you know, and what Mike Chefski did
running the team. You know, teams people want to play
for tim us did they want to build their brand.
They want to go out there and maintain that dominance.
(21:23):
There was a hiccup in the World Championship, so Lebron
kind of came in with his crew to write the
ship Lebron's Steph kd that the veteran players, but I
don't think he did that, only the pass the baton
to the next group for them to go back to
Silver Lebron. So I think they're going to pass the torch.
I'm looking for Anthony Edwards to lead the charge and
then Cooper Aj Cameron Boozer, the next generation coming up
(21:46):
through the ranks to us solidify it that we can
maintain the gold standard. France is coming, France is there.
They're development programming out of this world. But we got
we gotta go toe to toe with them and maintain that.
Speaker 3 (21:57):
Yep, Andre, all I want to say to you is polyvoufony.
Speaker 6 (22:01):
We we we wi.
Speaker 4 (22:03):
There you go, my man, have a great weekend.
Speaker 6 (22:05):
I thought you were Brad Turner for a minute. You
know he stay over there hanging out at it.
Speaker 4 (22:08):
Yeah he does.
Speaker 6 (22:09):
My goodness, you.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
Must have a plenty of Marriott points because he's always
some point.
Speaker 1 (22:13):
He's there so frequently it's actually kind of ridiculous. So
shout to him, shot to thank you off for calls.
We appreciate that as always.
Speaker 4 (22:19):
Brad Turner from the LA time.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
Yeah, that's what we're referencing right there all right on
the way we got who are you coming up again,
Darren Smith from Kendaren Smith. That's right, Kansas City will
talks minifoaction with him right now. Steven Saga is gonna
get your set on what's trending.
Speaker 13 (22:33):
Heysty hey there before we get to the baseball Scottie
Scheffler leads the open by one stroke after second round
sixty four in Northern Ireland. Baseball resumed at Wrigley Field today.
Cub speed Boston four to one, ending the Red Sox
ten game winning streak. At Philadelphia, Phillies and Angels tied
four to four in the top of the six. Bryce
Harper a three run homer. White Sox leading six to
(22:53):
one at Pittsburgh in the bottom of the sixth inning,
the Padres are up one nothing at Washington. Top of
the seventh, Padres started Dylan Cez went five and a
third scoreless innings with ten strikeouts and no walks. The
Blue Jays lead the Giants four nothing. In the top
of the fifth. Giants starter Justin Verlander, who's zero to
seven this year, had no strikeouts tonight, lasted just two
(23:14):
and two thirds gave up four runs, nine hits at Toronto.
The Mats at home, now trailing the Reds three to
two in the sixth inning. Juan Soto with an early
homer for New York Marlins had five to four over
the Royals in the sixth. It's the Guardians eight one
over the A's in the top of the six, Braves
leading the Yankee six nothing bottom of the fourth. All
(23:35):
bullpen night for the Yanks, as pitcher Max Freed is
out with a blister. Should return next week. The Rays
are shutting out the Orioles five nothing in the bottom
of the fourth. Tigers at Rangers scoreless in the bottom
of the second inning. One of the Lake games. We'll
have Milwaukee winners of seven straight at the Dodgers against
Tyler glasnow in La. By the way, Shoe Otani will
pitch Monday for the Dodgers against the Twins. As for
(23:57):
the football news, most NFL team we'll have their veterans
reports training camp. On the twenty second, Packers wide receiver
Christian Watson was placed on the pup list. Raiders defensive
tackle Christian Wilkins with the bad foot was placed on
the physically unable to perform list. Forty nine ers wide
receiver Brandon Ayuk is on the pup list as his
wide receiver Ricky Piersoll. In the quarterfinal of the Women's
(24:21):
Soccer euro Spain eliminated host Switzerland. The next IndyCar Race
is Sunday on Fox TV on the streets of Toronto.
Speaker 6 (24:27):
Back to you, all right, Steve, thank you so much.
We are the odd couple.
Speaker 1 (24:31):
Rod Parker Kevin Washington on a Fucky flashback Friday, joined
now by our man Darren Smith, Kansas City radio host
and Chiefs reporter.
Speaker 6 (24:38):
You can find him on ex Darren Smith in FLD.
What's up man?
Speaker 9 (24:43):
Not much?
Speaker 5 (24:44):
Kevin? How you are doing this evening?
Speaker 6 (24:45):
You're doing good?
Speaker 5 (24:46):
Man?
Speaker 6 (24:47):
What you got on a red suit?
Speaker 5 (24:48):
Right now?
Speaker 6 (24:48):
You got on the Chiefs read you got on a
red one?
Speaker 5 (24:52):
No, I'm sitting back watching the shy right about now?
Speaker 6 (24:55):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (24:56):
Oh the shout out to the shot all right, Hey,
it got too crazy for me. I fell off about
season two for me, Darren Man. We rob talked about
this yesterday with she Rice. Obviously a tough situation. The
speeding one hundred nineteen hundred twenty miles ends up leaving
the scene of a six car pile up that he
was responsible for.
Speaker 6 (25:14):
Just walk us through.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
Now it's respect that he has a five year probation period,
but he can service thirty day sentence at any given point.
Speaker 4 (25:21):
What do you make of that? Real?
Speaker 6 (25:22):
What do you make of that? What are the chief saying?
Speaker 5 (25:25):
The chiefs haven't? Really the chiefs hasn't. They have not
said anything. To be quite honest, this is the first
I've ever heard of someone being able to serve time
in that manner. I mean, you know, I guess if
you guys some good lawyers, and you know, I don't
want to. I don't want to make any sumption on
how a lot of that stuff got taken care of.
But yeah, I mean, if I'm she Rice, I'm doing.
(25:45):
I'm doing one weekend a year or or possible I'm doing.
You know, I'm doing my thirty days right after the
Super Bowl parade next year. Get it out the way.
Speaker 3 (25:55):
Why does he care about the Eagle super Bowl Parade?
I don't understand. Well, so, yeah, I do. You know,
I'm gonna say that the just yeah so so, no
word at all from the Chiese. There been mom on
this whole thing.
Speaker 5 (26:12):
Yes, as it relates to over the last couple of days. Yes,
they've been h they've been very quiet about it, which
they shouldn't because, I mean, because right now you don't
know what one I think it kind of it kind
of came out of nowhere because nobody was expecting it,
because we didn't even know that he was good, he
had gotten the court or anything like that, because everybody
expected this to be taken care of the off season
the next year. So the fact that all the stuff
(26:34):
was was put out yesterday and that he's and it
was important that he was he was, he was settling
one of the one of the cases. But then you know,
but then one of the reporters today stated that you
know that nothing has been done in that manner. So
right now he's not looking good as it relates to that.
Speaker 3 (26:52):
Okay, so what about where are we on? What do
you think the NFL is going to do? Uh, Calvin,
are you two and four? Two to four games?
Speaker 6 (26:59):
I was, I was six, I was six to eight.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
Yeah, I'm I'm more there and uh if if they
did the whole season, I wouldn't be mad.
Speaker 5 (27:08):
Well, well, I mean, the the citizen and me would
agree with you, but I think the reporting me is
going to go to the tuo to four area, I
think because my great, look, what he did was horby wrong.
And and at the time I thought that he should
have came there with to him last year because in
my opinion, you have to you have to send out
(27:29):
a message. And and the fact that they kind of
wait until you know all the stuff, uh you know,
of course there's some kind of takes his place, it
kind of lessens to blow in my opinion versus versus
you know.
Speaker 3 (27:41):
And they don't have to wait and and and and
all reality, once you signed Kelvin a contract, right and
you're playing under a CBA, they have jurisdiction, they don't
they there could be a penalty.
Speaker 4 (27:53):
We saw the NFL.
Speaker 3 (27:55):
How did they levy uh penalties against Codds in college
who got tacked twos? You remember that they weren't even
in the NFL at the time. So so your gut
is two to four, that's what you're thinking.
Speaker 5 (28:08):
Yeah, I mean because it looks just because of the
time that has passed, even because if you think about
the running back from from from Cleveland, you know he's
probably gonna get six games because of you know, just
cover the recency bias, and so that's the reason I'm.
Speaker 4 (28:22):
Going to Well, here's my thing.
Speaker 3 (28:24):
The idea that he wasn't drunk and yet he still
walked away from what was going on there is the
part that bothers me. And I guess what that gun's
in there too? Is that what they had? Did they
leave guns behind?
Speaker 5 (28:37):
I'm not sure about that. But look, but but I'm
gonna be honest with you. And you know, I know
we look about hometown by so much. I have a
real problem with it because because of how things I've
been in car accident before. So for me, I take
a personal about the negligence and the street racing and
putting people's laves in danger and stuff like that, and
the fact that you know, even if he does get
to the four or whatever amount of games, personally, you know,
(29:00):
I got an issue with it. But you know, but
this is this is what the CBA is all about.
Speaker 1 (29:05):
Yeah, I mean, that's do they want to make an
example because we got the Shador Sanders with those couple
of speeding issues. You got Addison Receiver up there in
Minnesota having some issues just you know, just found liable.
He no completely no contest for another traffic issue, So
it seems like this stuff is prevalent right now.
Speaker 6 (29:23):
He was one at a certain point. Is the NFL
going to make an example of him?
Speaker 1 (29:26):
He is Darren Smith, Kansas City, ready to hosts the
Chiefs reporter on with theyd Couple, Robin Kelvin on a
funky Flashback Friday.
Speaker 6 (29:34):
I wonder say we'll just stay with the Chiefs.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
You got Patrick Mahomes who has said he wants to
recently that he wanted to just get back to having fun.
That he believes they've had too much pressure on the shoulders.
Guys were tight, guys were so heavy on let's try
to threepeat. And he said, we got to get just
get back to having fun. Do you think it's that simple?
And what do you make is kind of the issue
why he hasn't been the Patrick Mahomes of old the
last couple of seasons, the.
Speaker 5 (29:57):
Last couple of seasons, And look, I said, I think
a lot of it had to do with the enemy
not being there as EOC not. Granted, they won the
Super Bowl against San fran but if you look at
those games, they only had one real board. I'm thinking
might have been against Chicago two years ago.
Speaker 4 (30:12):
But I agree with you. Even those games, they just
weren't that impressive.
Speaker 5 (30:17):
Yeah, And it's funny because a lot of people are
making it seem like the Chiefs of villains and people
just hate it when I said, I said, the reason
why it feels the way because the Chiefs have been
playing close games instead of you know, because to ue
it two years ago, three years ago when they won
the Super Bowl against the Eagles, they led the league
in scoring. So one of those things you could is
you could count on during that time, especially if you're
(30:38):
in the sports betting, you could always kind of the
Chiefs either winning, covering the point spread, or more importantly,
players hitting the stats. Patrick has not. Patrick has not
played well the last two seasons and for a lot
of people to get upset whether you know, he's ranked
umber one overall the players, the top quarterback. I think
he's still in the top quarterback, but he has not
been the top player in the NFL. And you know,
(31:00):
I guess that I have disagreements, which he's keen to
because you can say he has not played well and
they still be the best team because of the overall
talent and the coaching and stuff like that, and then
playing well as certain at certain points of the ball
game where you allow the other team to beat themselves.
Speaker 3 (31:14):
So I'm with you and people they think if you
say he's he's not the best quarterback in the league,
that's a that's a lifetime achievement, you know, award kind
of thing that they give him.
Speaker 4 (31:27):
But you're right. And the perfect.
Speaker 3 (31:28):
Example, Darren is this, how can your team go fifteen
and two. You're the quarterback, right, and you get zero
first place votes for MVP.
Speaker 4 (31:40):
Seriously, zero, not of.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
Handhold, not all he made all the big plays like zero.
Speaker 5 (31:47):
But here's the thing. My push back to that is
that again, just like I said, they have you know,
even though they've won, they've been winning ugly and Patrick
has not put up the quarter cooll stand.
Speaker 4 (31:56):
No, but that's what I'm saying. That's why he didn't
get any.
Speaker 5 (31:59):
Votes to that too. But also I think because they
were trying to go for three p all that other stuff,
that he literally would have had to go undefeated in
the regular season for him to win the VP.
Speaker 4 (32:09):
No, but I'm not saying to win it.
Speaker 3 (32:11):
But no vote for a fifteen to two team is
what I'm No votes, Yeah, I mean.
Speaker 5 (32:15):
I get it. I get it. I Guessack would be.
You know, I can't even say, I can't even say
voted for team because Lamar probably should have won the MVP.
Speaker 6 (32:24):
Yes, so it was voter fatigue.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
It just wasn't for Patrick Gills, for Lamar Jackson. That's
exactly I told Rob that was gonna happen.
Speaker 3 (32:32):
Yeah, okay, you told that. You told me he's gonna
win the All Pro two first Team All Pro.
Speaker 4 (32:37):
No, no, I.
Speaker 6 (32:38):
Didn't say that.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
I told you Lamar Jackson was gonna not win it
even though he was the best player.
Speaker 6 (32:42):
It is the best player. He's the best player in
football to me.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
If Patrick Mahomes is still the guy if it comes
down to a big play, and I think.
Speaker 6 (32:49):
That's what he has in fact. Oh yeah, no, no,
you're right that they have.
Speaker 3 (32:56):
Yeah, that was unprecedented what happened where you got these
former football players taking care of their friend.
Speaker 6 (33:02):
Boy, you're a black former athletes. Boy, Hey, Darren, have
a wonderful week here. We appreciate you as always, Thank you, Bud.
Get back to the shot.
Speaker 1 (33:13):
All right, there's a chosen team in La, Rob says,
and the person their newest player said, gave the stiff
arm the old heisman to the Lakers.
Speaker 6 (33:21):
We'll talk about it. It's the Odd Couple.
Speaker 1 (33:23):
Robi Kelvin on a Funky Flashback Friday, Fox Sports Radio.

Fox Sports Radio. It is the Odd Couple.
Speaker 1 (33:41):
Rob Parker Kevin Washington on a Funky Flashback Friday. DJ
Ally Alex on the Ones and twos Achy Knees. What
about a stiff back? Your joints not cooperating? Well, some
days your body's just like nope. We've all had those
days before, right, And on those days, luckily there is
a leave with just one pill a lead. He provides
up to twelve hours of paying relief so you can
(34:03):
keep moving. Make sure you use as directed, all right, Rob,
you called the Clippers the chosen Team?
Speaker 6 (34:10):
Is that what you're calling him? They are?
Speaker 3 (34:13):
They seem to be able to get everybody. Everybody seems
to always wind up going to the Clippers. And and Shay,
you can jump in here because the story is Kelvin. Yeah,
that Bradley Beal rejected the Lakers.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
Should you say any matam bodom No, no, no, blook.
Speaker 7 (34:35):
He rejected Lebron and the Lakers. It seems like he
did not want to go there. He had an option,
but he chose kawhi En hardened with the Clippers. Not
really sure why. It could be Lebron. It could be
maybe this the la the personality that he has, he
couldn't do it. He couldn't take the big lights. I mean,
it really makes no sense to me on why he
(34:55):
would do this, especially because I think money wise was
the same amount of money. Maybe he might get more
reps on the Clippers. It could be like a legacy
thing for him, but even then, like you have a
better chance of winning with the Lakers in my opinion,
So I really see no point in this other than
he just doesn't want to play with Lebron, Like that's
the only thing.
Speaker 6 (35:10):
I have to I disagree so profoundly with Usha.
Speaker 7 (35:15):
Play it on me.
Speaker 1 (35:16):
The Clippers have it what we all agree the Clippers
have before, even before breathybille ever inks his deal a
better a better.
Speaker 6 (35:23):
Roster right than the Clippers.
Speaker 1 (35:25):
Yeah, okay, so I'm going to better healthy Yeah even yes,
healthy that I have a healthy Kawhi Leonard, Yeah, I have, yeah,
Zuboch I have now John Collins, dude. I have a
bunch of nice role players on the bench as well.
And I have a great coach. I have a great
owner and a new arena. And here's the other key
component we talked about this. I don't have to have
(35:48):
the crazy circus that comes with being a Laker every
minute the spotlight. I might go have twenty four games
and shoot eight four, eleven for three and then they go, oh,
the next game sixty Oh, he's what's wrong with him?
He's the problem. Like, I don't think he wants to
deal with that. I can kind of escape in Clipperville,
not be be under the radar, even if they're playing well,
(36:08):
even if they go, you know, fifty eight and was
it thirty four?
Speaker 6 (36:12):
Still be under the radar, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (36:15):
But here's the other thing that fits his uh but
how is he want to be under the radar when
he went to Phoenix?
Speaker 12 (36:21):
Right?
Speaker 3 (36:21):
Okay, he was traded there and that was with a
lot of expectation.
Speaker 4 (36:25):
Trade hold on.
Speaker 3 (36:26):
And here's the other thing, Lebron and Luca that could
be something special. You are trying to improve your name
that basically has been in mud in the NBA, right
like as an overpaid guy who really hasn't done anything correct.
Speaker 6 (36:42):
Here's the issue. Here's the issue, I hear you.
Speaker 1 (36:44):
The issue is if he were coming in and he
was Lebron Luca and me meaning bradle Bill, brad you
know Bill. The issue is there's also Austin Reeves, and
I feel like he knows that guy to.
Speaker 6 (36:58):
Be the next after that. I'm gonna be such a
small portion of it's such small, you know.
Speaker 4 (37:03):
Bill a Reeves?
Speaker 6 (37:04):
Okay, yeah, well I think a lot of people will
take you.
Speaker 7 (37:07):
Bill would be the third option.
Speaker 1 (37:09):
No, absolutely, absolutely Austin Reeves.
Speaker 7 (37:13):
Reason is too hot and cold.
Speaker 4 (37:14):
Yes he is.
Speaker 7 (37:15):
You saw it in the postseases it's too hot and cold.
Speaker 6 (37:17):
I love it. Let up here, do y'all? Do y'all
know what Austin Reeves was doing?
Speaker 7 (37:21):
He he was averaging twenty points again, No, I saw
every what do you do?
Speaker 6 (37:26):
You know what Bradley Bill was averaging?
Speaker 7 (37:28):
Okay, yeah, but he was also on the suns with Kat.
It's a completely different You can't say that though.
Speaker 6 (37:32):
Wait okay, wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait
wait wait how because Luca is way more, way more dominant.
Why did they what they want him?
Speaker 5 (37:39):
Then?
Speaker 4 (37:39):
Why would they want him?
Speaker 6 (37:40):
No, because you want is a guy who shot almost
fifty forty.
Speaker 5 (37:44):
You take that.
Speaker 6 (37:44):
No, he's a quality pleasure.
Speaker 4 (37:46):
I'm saying exactly.
Speaker 3 (37:47):
But you gotta admit that Austin Reeves postseason made people
question a little bit like he wasn't.
Speaker 4 (37:56):
Ready for prime time that. I'm just saying.
Speaker 1 (37:58):
I can't believe y'all try Austin Reves this point is
a better player than Bradley Bill.
Speaker 3 (38:01):
I'm just saying when I saw the post I saw
the postseason. I know he's younger and all the other
stuff postseason made people go he ain't.
Speaker 4 (38:09):
The third option for sure. That's what That's okay, That's
all I'm saying.
Speaker 7 (38:12):
Luca and Lebron are covered. Fifty thirty seconds on the clock,
Luca Lebron are covered. Who you giving the ball to?
Austin Reeve has been balling you, So you're giving the playoffs?
Speaker 4 (38:22):
I'm asking you in the postseason, and he was spotty.
Speaker 7 (38:25):
Arguing with that because I do think it's very close,
Like I think reasons let me tell you why.
Speaker 1 (38:29):
I'm gonna tell you why it's not just a shot.
By the way, I always take that scenario, people say,
who do you want to shot? That's a terrible because
there's people I would name that weren't even the stars.
They just can shoot the ball, Steve Kerb, but then
you don't want him on your team. Yeah, So what
I mean is Austin Reeves can create shots for himself
and others. Austin Reeves can run the offense, and I
think that's the advantage he can.
Speaker 6 (38:48):
He can also fit in the role better.
Speaker 1 (38:50):
I think Bradley Bill has not mastered to what to
do if I'm not the guy?
Speaker 6 (38:54):
Would you agree with that? If I'm not the guy?
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (38:57):
If he was the guy in Washington, he was a
third all NBA player, But when he's not the singular guy,
I don't.
Speaker 6 (39:04):
Think he's found his role well. And I just think you.
Speaker 7 (39:07):
Don't think he fits into that third role like he could.
He plays on a high level, but he just won't
be able to fit into its.
Speaker 1 (39:14):
Spun the block on him, they say, look, what's up.
You know, we're trying to see if you want to
roll with it, they offered. The reports are that they
had extensive conversations, but he himself never was fully interested.
Speaker 6 (39:24):
So I just think he wants to tell you they didn't.
Speaker 3 (39:26):
We'll tell you if they had nothing to do with
because there are all the players who didn't want to
come play with Lebron, and especially I think after they've
seen like what happened to Westbrook. There you go, he
was escaped, you know what I mean, And they agree
they really made him out to be it was his fault.
Speaker 1 (39:42):
And he's went on to play some solid basketball with
the Clippers then with the Nuggets last season. I think
Bradley Beal doesn't want to be Isaiah Thomas, Dion Waiters,
Russell Westbrook. You know, all these guys that gotta come in,
d low will come in and it's like I'm here
and you know, it just doesn't work out. And now
I'm the scapegoat. I'm the fall guy. And I think
(40:02):
he doesn't want that. He can go with the Clippers,
be low key, they'll win fifty games. He can be
in the postseason because you don't know, Listen, Lebron James
is about to be forty one with a million miles
of basketball. If he is nicked up, not even fully
injured like a whole season. But if he's banged up enough,
Bradley been like, now the person gonna be on me
and Luca, that ain't that great. And I think that's
(40:24):
what he's saying.
Speaker 4 (40:25):
It's just another guy.
Speaker 3 (40:26):
I'm just saying, where you have a chance, where you
look at Lebron and Luca that maybe you know everybody
was counting them in just it wasn't that long ago,
you know what I mean. Like there's still that part
of maybe you could be a part of something, Maybe
you could somehow, some way sneak in a championship, somehow.
Speaker 1 (40:43):
Welles Ronne got somebody fired because the strip clubs, we
gotta talk about it.
Speaker 2 (40:47):
