you know what did you see the baseball ratings?

Speaker 3 (01:24):
The TV ratings that came out.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Going well or really well good, really really well, their
national exclusive games are of forty four percent from last
year and you ready, best start.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
In nine years. So they got all these.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Great players medals before has been a couple of years
agoing you got stars in New York and LA.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
You got all these young players.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Paul Skeins is pitching his butt off of Pittsburgh. A
lot of bad teams are like in the mix, you
know what I mean, not terrible.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
That's huge.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
That's huge people interest because you don't want to be
out of it. You don't want to be the Mets, right,
my bad, Oh my god. Here's another question, Rob.

Speaker 5 (01:59):
This is kind of out of nowhere, But does the
fact that Paul Skeins and before that, Justin Verlander are
involved with Starlits and you know Instagram model people that
are known outside of baseball, you think that's played any
kind of role in what's happening.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
That's so interesting. I don't think so, because.

Speaker 5 (02:17):
People try to say that with Kelsey and Taylor Swift,
I don't think because the NFL is a different animal.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
But do you think that with I think there is
a difference of why that that would because she her
Beyonce and bad Bunny or like the three by far
biggest people in the world. So it's different if you
have a celebrity and then there's Taylor Swift level of celebrity.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Uh, you can be with the hotty that's or this,
that and the other.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
But Beyonce Taylor Swift, bad bunny, that's a whole other strategy.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
You're in a ye.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
But it's good for people to find out, you know
what I mean. But I don't think yeah, And.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
I think it's the momentum for me personally. I think
it's that they keep having you know, two three good
season drama. You know, uh changes, brutal change, a great
great point rule change. He said, yeah, no, that that
really really helped. And you know I pushed back on
it when it started.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
I didn't want it to be bache donized because I
thought they were making a game for people who don't
like base don't take you know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (03:11):
Yeah, and you wind up alienating your your faithful That's.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
Always a that's a tough point right there, Robers. Right,
any business, I don't care if you're Coca Cola. You
want to grow, right, how do we get new people?
How do we get new uh, you know, fans of
our product. But but on the flip side, we don't
want to alienate. We don't want to get them out
of here. We don't want to do this.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
We don't. That's a tough that's tough.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
How do you grow the Because now I think NFL
is going through that where we're all starting to stop
going over Steve, stop having these games where nobody cares,
doesn't look for right, the field's messed up, teams aren't happy,
the scores are all weird like, but they're like, we're
trying to go.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
We maxed out in America? Right, Who is it?

Speaker 4 (03:46):
If you're not a football fan at this point, you're
not probably a football fan in you know, and so
they're probably take over the globe. But that's a tough
business model for anybody's trying to grow the brand.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
No doubt, all right, Rob G. Draymond Green. We got
a tie game in Detroit.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Yeah, wow, seventy nine all but ten forty to go,
a lot of time to go.

Speaker 5 (04:09):
K Mitchell putting the calves on his back twenty five
point six rebounds to make up for James Harden three
of twelve three turn.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
It ain't them, it's me, Rob G. Very it's what
he said.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
This is this is a big game because if you're
the Cavaliers and you can take this, then you go
to go home to at the crib. Yeah, I mean,
that's that's why it's always harder.

Speaker 5 (04:29):
I think.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
I think it's harder for the home team, you know
what I mean?

Speaker 1 (04:32):
I think it is because they only have to split,
do you know what I mean? Like that they don't
expect to be the Pacers last year to win the
two games at Madison Square guard and you just think
we could get one.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
We're in a better spot.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Doesn't mean you automatically win the two at home, but
you have a way better shot.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
Yeah, I mean, and then you feel like if you
get one and now you got to at home, you're
up three to one. That's how you know, your mind
start to do the math. Then we just got to
win one of the last three.

Speaker 5 (04:56):
Cleveland now up too. Here's the thing for Detroit quickly
before we get to the next topic. Can't only an
eight shot attempt so far?

Speaker 3 (05:01):
Yeah, I don't understand it. It's been a week tennis,
so he's doing a lot of good work out there.
But which is fine.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
I don't mind, but we need to score, but you're
not gonna win many games where you're just gonna shoot
eight toimes.

Speaker 4 (05:12):
It's just if you watch the first half, other guys
were getting off right. You had a sure Thompson scoring
and he doesn't normally score.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
You had.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
And so I think that third quarter, I think he
was still in that like, oh the flow.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
I'm gonna be in the flow of it.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Even a right lea that thirteen point leaders a two
point deficits right now, you want to hop on in here.
That's a that's a fifteen point turnaround from the first quarter.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
And the only thing you can hope is, you know,
or not the only thing, but you're hoping that all
right now, you haven't had to force it, So go
ahead and start forcing a little bit if you're the pitches.
But yeah, do you heat and your boys waking up?
Like Rob g was just saying, Donavian Mitchell's playing well
because he had been strom he had scored twenty five
points or.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
More and they got still ten and a half minutes ago.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
So he hadn't scored since Game one of the first round.
Now he's there now.

Speaker 5 (06:01):
Well, speaking of forcing it, there's another person in the
basketball world who's been forcing into the last couple of days.
Just have to deal with him. Then, Rob Parker's favorite
player out of Michigan State.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
We can't even get away from him this game.

Speaker 5 (06:13):
He's from Raymond Money Green has been filling in for
Shack on inside the NBA, and last night during the broadcast.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
Chuck said something to the effect.

Speaker 5 (06:22):
Of the Warriors run is over. You guys are not
gonna win a championship. You're too old. It happens to
everybody as great as you were thirty six, thirty seven
years old, it happens. Draymond didn't seem to respond to
that in a classy fashion.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
Take a listen. Sports all for young people.

Speaker 6 (06:39):
You hope to have a great, long career, but the
sports nobody wins when that thirty seven eight.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
You said what you said, I didn't want to hear
if he believes what you're talking.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
Yeah, I mean, I think the goal is just to
not look like you in the Houston Rockets uniform.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
Yeah, as ultimately the goal for us, like, we don't
want to if I look like that.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
Did you see it? I'm just asking I saw it.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
Nobody laughed because it wasn't funny. It was it was.
If I'm gonna just be honest, you know, I'm not
with the podcast, right. If I'm not with the podcast
where people don't.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
Put effort in, that's what I should say.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Okay, if you're doing a podcast and you're pushing back
and you're asking questions, and you're giving some information and
you're not doing inside jokes and and all this kind
of stuff.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
I'm okay.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
But the idea that some TV executive I don't know
where where ESPN, wherever it could be, looks at Draymond
Green and thinks that they have the next Charles Barkley.
He's Charles Barkley two point zero. They could not be
more wrong. I'm sorry because I don't get it. Charles Barkley.

(07:54):
What he said wasn't a rip on the Warriors. It
was realistic. He named all the other team. He was
real with. It wasn't the Draymond you suck. That's not
what the conversation was. Draymond sitting there, there's a conversation
about teams getting older, and that was natural. Draymond turned
into mean girl.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
He's just mean.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
He's not funny, he's not insightful. You can't say anything
to him. Without him getting his panties in a bunch.
How is that good television? It ain't good television. Even
when Charles Barkley's ripping on something, there's a degree of humor.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
He could laugh at hisself.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Oh, Draymond can't laugh at hisself.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
It's always me against everybody. Oh, don't say that. You
can't say anything to me. I'm gonna cut you down.
Nobody laughed on that.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Set about Charles Barkley in a rocket uniform because it
wasn't funny. You were just trying to be mean spirited
because you've been blessed to win four championships. I got
news for you. You want close to the talent Charles Barkley,
Wall Honey, not even close. So don't even like this

(09:08):
whole idea. You could go ahead and play that game.
Charles never won, so he's not a great player. I'm sorry,
I'm not on that bus. I covered Charles Barkley during
those years. You need to pop into YouTube. Go to YouTube,
or pop in a VHS tape and watch Charles Barkley MVP.
He was a great player.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
He didn't win.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
Everybody doesn't win. That doesn't make you better than him.
And for you to be so damned sensitive every time
somebody has something to say, it's pathetic.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
Yeah, and you mentioned something.

Speaker 4 (09:41):
If you're gonna be on TV, if you're gonna be
on radio, one of the things you have to be
is self deprecating, you know that.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
Yeah, we make fun of ourselves.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
We roast ourselves or we roast you, U roast me,
We go rob g you leg swinging and all like
this is.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
It's a part of it.

Speaker 4 (09:54):
Seriously, we make boomerang breed you know it just it's
what you it's part of It's part of the game,
if you will, and anytime, and that's why people get
mad at Shacks sometimes because Shak's always got the jokes
and all that. But anytime they bring up something or
somebody roll some good what is it? You ain't gonna rings,
chuck and we all go shack that. It's kind of
as low bro and low brow. It is like that,

(10:16):
don't get mad and Shack got you good, and then
you you you ain't got no rings. Like that that's
all you ever can go to. You ain't got the rings.
And it's the same thing with Draymond. It's like Austin
Rivers said dude, you're high, IQ, you got this, but
what are you talking about that? He you know, he
stunted your career. Now you gotta go low. Your daddy
did this, and yet Chuck cracking. Chuck makes a great
point and then you, oh, you try to have a

(10:37):
better creery. By the way, you know what, Chuck was
averaging them years like sixteen and twelve, you know what
I mean, Like they were in the postseason. So like, uh,
y'all didn't make the postseason and you weren't averaging sixteen
and twelve, So, uh, how do you want to doesn't
you want.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
To look at least look like that?

Speaker 1 (10:57):
But did you did you hear the teams that he
mentioned when he talked about it Isaiah's pistons when it
is six.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
He would say he got all the great teams.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
It's a point when it ends absolutely and so it's
all the great teams. And it's to me, he's doing
a disservice too, because I feel like he's burning himself
at both ends of the candle right now. What I
mean by that is like you're you're obviously still playing,
so you're in the NBA and you're on the team,
but you're doing all this they're talking here, we already
talk about and then you got a going apology to

(11:27):
our I said too much. Shouldn't have said this, should
have said that your team is struggling right now, and
it's to me, you're talking about your coach, Steve Well,
potential coach who knows Steve, Steve Kirk. So to me,
we're getting in a place where it's like, dude, you're
doing too much. Your team ain't playing well right now.
You gotta struggle this year. You're talking too much about
your own coach, you're talking staff about other players. You're
on TV talking about too much with with Charles Barkley,

(11:49):
who should have earned the respect you know, of that show,
has been the star of that show for twenty plus years.
So to me, Draymond is doing too much and he's
burning out at so many different angles, you know, and
fastest of his life right now. So again I just
I've had enough. I'll pass. I'm okay, I'm with you,
I'm okay.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
And in Charles's four years in Houston, averaging sixteen, twelve
and four, including averaging eighteen and twelve during their run
to the Western Conference finals, so one like he.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
Was it didn't even make sense. That's why I already
knew this.

Speaker 4 (12:22):
They were in the Western Conference finals, they were in
the postseason. Y'all didn't make the postseason, like, y'all haven't
looked great.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
And Dreda's putting up sixteen and twelve and Draymond never
averaged what a double digit rebound? Come on, man, stop it,
sye chuck nice on that one because or.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
More than fourteen points ever, and he's acting like and
that was the end of Charles too right right we again?
If you're I just don't the TV executive. I want
people to say stuff. I don't want everything to be agreed.
I don't want everybody to be singing kombay y'all and
everybody's great.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
We're not. That's not what we're looking for.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
But to just be mean, just to be mean, I
don't know what the appeal is in that. And Charles
can't say anything to you without you being offended.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
It's gonna be a long, eighty two game season if
anytime somebody says, man his knees about shot like.

Speaker 3 (13:15):
Yours anyway, your dude.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
That's you gotta and it's there is a and by
the way, there is a talent to it. I know
people don't think that Charles Barkley is talented on television.
He's not just goofy. He knows exactly what he's doing.
He knows what to say, when to say it, how
to say it, and obviously he's being authentically himself.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
But there is a talent. And just because you're like tough.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
Guy, you know, loud guy, and I mean, it doesn't
mean you're gonna be great TV, doesn't mean you're gonna
be great podcast. And again if you and then that's
the point too. Are you a player? Are you on TV?

Speaker 3 (13:44):
What are you doing?

Speaker 4 (13:45):
Because you're being hyper sensitive for a player when part
of being a player is being.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
Critiqued seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine,
six sixty three sixty nine.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
Is Draymond good for television? Or is he just the
mean girl? Because that's what I think. He's just mean.
We'll continue that conversation next with you.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
It is the odd couple where we deliver insight, not
noise right here on Fox Sports Radio.

who's doing nothing?

Speaker 4 (15:37):

(16:02):
there at the top, all right.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
Eight seven seven ninety nine.

Speaker 4 (16:05):
On Fox taking calls Draymond Green, it's just all over
the play podcast TV, even front Row with this Pistons game,
and I'm Draymond out, and I know you feel me
on that.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
I am too, all right, So let's go with Andrea Massachusetts.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up?
Dright knowing?

Speaker 6 (16:25):
Thanks taking the call. Listen.

Speaker 8 (16:26):
In terms of Draymond Green, you could be good for television.
In terms of your ratings while not being particularly good
at television in terms of your approach, how you conduct
your business, and his whole am always about being unapologetic,
you know, and I'm gonna say what I want to say,
when I want to say how I want to say it,
you know. But at the end of the day, there's
not really too much substance that goes along with it.

Speaker 6 (16:47):
The fact of the.

Speaker 8 (16:47):
Matter is he wants to because he's spent so much
time time puffing his chest out, you know, he gets
in these disputes and it just undermines his credibility, right,
I mean, is there's no way in the world Draymond
Green is an all time great player. When you're out
there averaging a triple single for your entire right and
never driving the bus, You've won championships, just what so
is Steve Kerr, So is John Paxton, So is Harace Grant.

(17:10):
They were on the bus. They didn't drive any of
those buses. So for him to get in these disputes
with Charles Barkley, yeah, he doesn't have any championships. Neiss
Patrick ew and Karl Malone or John Stockton, but they
drove all of those buses. They walked points.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
And that's the difference to Dre.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
No battles Dre and Rob.

Speaker 4 (17:26):
That's the difference between Shaq can say some things. At
least Shaq was shack right, so you can say some
things to Chuck. Draymond is not on Chuck's level, like
individual talent, not even in the same stratosphere. So it
gets a little bit offensive. And by the way, you
know this too, Rob, thank and Dre appreciate the call.
There is something to like, you know this, like welcoming

(17:47):
you on the set. I know he's been there for
a couple of years, but you know what I mean,
like you're coming in a little hot.

Speaker 3 (17:52):
He don't care come in a little hot. I agree,
you get what.

Speaker 4 (17:55):
I'm saying, Like like I don't when I got in spectrum,
I'm not gonna hop on Joselle Fernandez legend in the game.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
I'm here and it's like, well.

Speaker 1 (18:02):
Right, you know you don't have to do all that,
all right? What about uh, Jerome and Charleston. We haven't
heard from Jerome in a minute. You're in the couple
of Fox Sports Radio. What's happening?

Speaker 9 (18:12):
Oh, that's because I've been black ball eight.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
What do you mean you blackball.

Speaker 9 (18:18):
We don't block the meet Stephen Smith, don't want to
talk to me.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
We don't blackball anybody? What blackball?

Speaker 9 (18:26):
Stephen Smith, Judy don't want to talk to me. Hey,
Jamon breeds the riding coat tails for you. And by
the way, ask Charles Brockley, how do you live thirty
something million dollars gambling? And where's your wife? I never
see you in public? Worter, you've been married?

Speaker 3 (18:40):
What we're talking about? Come on.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
Now you're black ball? Get off the radio, thank you,
thank you. I mean, what does that have to do
with it?

Speaker 3 (18:52):
How do we get there?

Speaker 1 (18:53):
Because he wanted to? You want to go ahead and
and uh pick on Charles Barkley. I just don't get
the correlation, right, I just don't. Well, that's not what
we're talking about. Brandon and Riverside.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
You're in the wild day with the Cause next Locke Roger,
you hear that?

Speaker 2 (19:11):
What is that?

Speaker 3 (19:11):
What is that?

Speaker 5 (19:12):
Hey?

Speaker 9 (19:13):
Hey, my man over there?

Speaker 6 (19:14):
He alan out. But I'm tired of Draymond.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
He would love to have Charles Barkley last year in
the NBA stack line.

Speaker 9 (19:26):
If he actually had that stat line.

Speaker 6 (19:28):
The Warriors probably would have made the playoffs.

Speaker 9 (19:30):
This year and missed the play.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
In if he was playing like that, that's a good point.

Speaker 9 (19:33):
It's just it's just a loblo, Like why do you
gotta go loblo with him?

Speaker 3 (19:37):
And said wasn't even person It wasn't even.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
Personal personally team.

Speaker 8 (19:46):
It was like when he said that if he would
have said that out there on the street, so when
somebody right would have just started fighting him, Like, man,
where'd that come from?

Speaker 9 (19:52):
Like he's just he's just gonna say something that most inappropriate.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
Especially about the most women.

Speaker 4 (19:57):
By father time we know that other time he's undefeated,
Like that's that's a fact. That's not like a he
didn't say anything about you and you from sacking off Michigan.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
It's something personal or something.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
And listen to the teams he mentioned all great teams right,
Larry Bird Celtics and Isaiah Thomas or something, trump them bulls,
trump the pistols like like that. I thought it was harmless.
That's why I think he's mister mean girl. Like it's
like he's just trying to be mean for no reason.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
It just and it made no sense, especially again it's
something that's rooted in facts, Like it's not even like
this look like we we know this what happens in
all sports.

Speaker 3 (20:34):
You get old, teams got to move on.

Speaker 4 (20:36):
And the Spurs took a diff for years because they
got old, and Genobi got old, and Parker and Timmy
and you had to move on.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
That's just part of the game, all right.

Speaker 6 (20:44):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (20:45):
Coming up Foul or Fair with j R. Gamble.

Speaker 6 (20:48):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (20:48):
Wow, we'll see what Rob GI's cooked up for that.
But right now, if it is bre, it is for we.

Speaker 3 (21:08):
All right, Britt, thank you, have a great night. It's him,
all right, it is the Oka.

Speaker 4 (21:12):
He's rob Im Kelvin here on a TV theme so
on Thursday, last call. Coming up here in just a
little bit. Right now, it is time for Foul or
Fair with JR.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
Camp.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
It was a big week in the big leagues.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
Who's A, Who's A?

Speaker 2 (21:31):
Is it foul or is it fair? And now from
mlbanbro dot com, here's JR.

Speaker 5 (21:39):
Gamball that's dollar fair here on the Fox Sports Radio
saying we're going around the diamond business, all the biggest
headlines in Major League Baseball, nor do so proper.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
We gotta be a real expert.

Speaker 5 (21:50):
We had to bring in a guy who told O, tany,
you know what, do one side. I think it's gonna
work out for you. Yep, none other than the man
they made the legend himself. Ja are gamble.

Speaker 6 (22:02):
Greetings, Greetings, Greetings America. I am all with the odd couple.
Therefore I'm special.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
You are special? Brother? What's happening? All right, let's go.

Speaker 6 (22:11):
I'm good. How you got?

Speaker 3 (22:13):
Excellent?

Speaker 5 (22:13):
Man?

Speaker 3 (22:14):
Excellent?

Speaker 5 (22:15):
All right, guys, let's get to it. I got three
baseball topics, and because Jr. Is the star, the segment
gets the first crack that every single one. So let's
get to it.

Speaker 3 (22:23):
Number one.

Speaker 5 (22:24):
Despite having the third highest hard hit rating baseball, Padre
Starr and Rob Parker's side piece, Fernando tattoos.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
This hurts my soul. I know it does. I had
I know it does.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
I had a man crush with it when he came
into the bag. I'm just probably judge. But he's like, okay,
but wait, he might not be him talent wise. No,
I mean, where was the crush level? Which was the
higher crush.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
That's always Aaron Judge, you sound.

Speaker 9 (22:49):
All.

Speaker 4 (22:50):
It might be Aaron Judge, might be the ex wife Tattoos,
might be that girlfriend that got away that you always
talking if.

Speaker 3 (22:56):
It was Tattoos, smile of maybe.

Speaker 5 (23:01):
Us tatis Jor has not hit a single home run
so far this season. Thirty six game homes is easily
the longest of his career, but even still, Padre is
only four games back of the Brave for the best
record in baseball. They're right there with the Dodgers. Then
l West Jr. Foul or fair to say Tatisa's sudden
loss of power is really no big deal.

Speaker 6 (23:21):
Foul. That is a foul ball, and I'm not letting
the most Is that easy? Come If it was any
other player, I say it's not a big deal. But
come on, for a guy that was called with PD
at the height of his talent numbers and got a
record contract out of it, it was never the same
and now we just ignore it like it never happened

(23:42):
because he is a good player, he's talented. Barnes was
just back, but Hans was two, you know, So it's
a bad look bad with a capital bad. No bueno Poppy,
This guy was supposed to have a generational package of
power and speed. Twenty twenty one, his first season, forty four,
forty two bombs going crazy all of a sudden serves

(24:03):
the eighty game p be suspended against Pop Combine forty six.
The last two seasons none this year, never had one
hundred RBI season. Man, come on, I love that dease.
He has a lot of talent. But did something We
have to figure out? Who is he?

Speaker 4 (24:21):
Yeah, something's wrong here.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
I'm foul.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
That is a foul ball.

Speaker 3 (24:28):
That dude was that.

Speaker 1 (24:30):
Dude to start his career unbelievable musty TV. And there's
no way how do you get thirty six game without
hitting a home run? He's just too talented. He made
the All Star team a couple of years ago, right,
was it two years ago? I don't think it was
last year.

Speaker 6 (24:45):
Yeah, but the numbers are the numbers, right, But.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
I'm just saying, like, yeah, so it's shocking to me
that he's in this homer Lit streak.

Speaker 3 (24:53):
And no, we just can't like pooh pooh it.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
I'm going foul and my point is a foul. But
I really don't have to say much because you guys
touched on it. But I also think it's because too
we've seen this happen in sports. You guys know this
Tiger Woods. It wasn't physical. Stuff gets mental for you
and everybody's looking at you. The steroids, pds you ain't
And I think there you know this in baseball. Once
you get a little off, the mentals ain't right, things

(25:17):
just don't add up.

Speaker 3 (25:17):
You can't. You kind of lose yourself. And I think
that plays a role as well.

Speaker 5 (25:20):
All right, story number two, I hope so for Rob's sake, Rob.

Speaker 3 (25:27):
With them.

Speaker 4 (25:28):
Yeah, oh yeah, Robin is willing to have him back
and make you know.

Speaker 3 (25:31):
All right, uh sorry number two.

Speaker 5 (25:33):
Since getting shellacked on opening Day, which we talked about,
Paul Skis made us all look stupid. He's five and
zero zero point seven four e r giving up your
twelve fifth three runs across twenty and the third innings.

Speaker 3 (25:44):
He's awesome.

Speaker 5 (25:45):
In fact, his career era of two point zero one
the lowest by any picture through his first sixty three
starts in over one hundred years.

Speaker 3 (25:54):
Since Moby Dick.

Speaker 6 (25:54):
Was a guppy, they fought a staff or anything.

Speaker 5 (25:57):
You ain't lying about that they are fault or it's
fair to say that Skeens is unquestionably, undoubtedly, indisputably the
best pitcher in baseball right now.

Speaker 6 (26:07):
I mean, I'm not going out on a limb here,
fair a football.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
To me.

Speaker 6 (26:12):
He's been he's been back for quite some time. It's
just a matter of when he gets traded to the
Yankees and becaus the icon that he you know, he's
depth in the beat. I mean, there's a couple of
guys who's had you can throw into the mix consistently,
get busy on the mound to reach school baller. Dylan
Ceaes is nasty Girl's still around. He's actually pitching into

(26:33):
the sixth as an old man instead of when young
man when he couldn't get out the fourth. But Skeins
has been that guy, and he's young, and he gets
on a real team, you're going to see a next
level of greatness. I truly believe that what he's doing now,
and it can't be fully appreciated on a franchise like Pittsburgh,
who they're not a bad franchise, they're just never trying

(26:54):
to win. So yeah, man, I can't wait until.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
He moves on. Actually, I think it's fair.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
And here's the other problem, you know, like Schoolbul one
back to back. Uh, Young's right in the American League
and uh, and I get it, but Skeens has been
pretty amazing. And now with Schooble being hurt or whatnot,
it's easy to look over and say what Paul Skins
has done, But Schoolbo was right there if you said

(27:23):
said and there's no way that you could look at
that and not think of Schoolbul as well.

Speaker 3 (27:28):
So yeah, I'm with you both on that. That's as fair.

Speaker 4 (27:32):
And what you just you mentioned something that'll be interesting, Wow,
big shot? Uh what will he ever be able to
like have a team built around him?

Speaker 3 (27:41):
Right now?

Speaker 4 (27:42):
They're you know, they're doing on either middle of their division,
you're twenty one and seventeen.

Speaker 3 (27:46):
But will he ever be able to be that guy there?

Speaker 4 (27:48):
And that's what's gonna be interesting because Pittsburgh finally gonna
spend money, finally built around him or you mentioned it,
is he gonna have to be a Yankee, He's gonna
have to be a Dodger, or he's gonna have to
be a met or something to get out of there.
That's what's gonna be interesting to me to see can
he succeed there? And finally have something good going, or
he's gonna have to get out.

Speaker 5 (28:05):
Of there all right, Fowler Fair a couple of Fox
Sports Mlbpro dot Com Managing editor JR. Gamble with the
Fella's last one, he still up by six at thirteen
and twenty one. The San Francisco Giants, off of their
worst start in franchise hists, had their first winless road
trips in college two, all of which becomes even more

(28:26):
eyebrow raising when you consider that this offseason they made
Tony Vattello the first coach in baseball history to go
directly from college to the majors without any professional coaching
experience in between. Jr. Foul or Fair say that Votello
is destined to be a one hit wonder in the Bay.

Speaker 9 (28:46):
Fair it's a ball.

Speaker 6 (28:49):
But if he wasn't a college coach, Fellows, he's still
being jefinitely being fired. Being that this is the worst
start in that proud franchise's history, that's a tough pill
to swallow, even for a team right that has its
work cut out for it in the NL West. My
thing is baseball is baseball. One thing. A manager needs
his talent and the Fotello's credit, he really doesn't happen.

(29:10):
This isn't like a vintage Giants team. Is actually one
of the worst and least talented Giants teams we've ever seen,
even with Devers. You know, I mean the no win
situation for me from the beginning for a really really
good season manager. But to you know, try to make
history and bring a guy from college onto this team.

(29:31):
It just wasn't equipped for any success. And I'm not
sure if he can manage it. Not Honestly, it doesn't
look like he can.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
He can, Yeah, a fair.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
And Buster Posey will be on that bus too, because seriously,
that was a huge gamble and you can't only just
look at Botello and blame it on him being in
that spot.

Speaker 3 (29:53):
But Buster, what are you doing? Kelvinsoy, what what do
you do? You can't do.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
That in a division to Dodgers and Padres, You're gonna
let a guy manage one on the job, learn on
the job.

Speaker 3 (30:05):
It doesn't even make sense.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
And then they got a Ricky Dieck roster, you know,
like I don't, I don't even understand it. But but
but I'm with j R. Like you lose enough, they're
gonna get somebody else. I don't care how long you
were there, what kind of contract you have. If if
the players lose faith in the manager in the clubhouse,
he's gonna be done.

Speaker 3 (30:25):
I don't know about that. You've seen the Mets. I
don't know about that, y'all. The Mets seem to be
riding this thing on out. Uh, I'm fair, all right, listen.

Speaker 4 (30:34):
The problem is, and you guys know this, he may
have had a chance to do something great, like oh wow,
look at this, maybe it can be done. The problem
is he sure didn't have the groceries to cook the
right meals, Like they don't have to act to the
roster in set up for him.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
And it doesn't even seem like they're really trying to
win right now.

Speaker 4 (30:50):
I don't know if they're gonna wait out the Dodgers run, like,
let's just, you know, let's just give it a few
years and see what we can do after that. If
they're trying to grow something, but he was already gonna
be uphill battle as not having any professional managing experience.
Then you walk into an organization right now that is
not of their glory days. They don't know what they're
doing so, it's it's a double failure. So absolutely only

(31:11):
one saving grace. Managers aren't The managers are old now
and because of the way, will you just do what
we ask we got the lineup party for you. They
can pacify you, like all right, just you just you'll
be Okay, you'll be.

Speaker 1 (31:23):
But you gotta sell thatt to fans though, and I'm serious,
like you keep losing and then you can't make any
player moves. They're not going to accept that. Like what
but a bust of poser? You stepping down? You know
what I mean? Or like like at some point somebody
they need blood from someone if he says trust the process.

Speaker 2 (31:42):
Okay, when does.

Speaker 6 (31:44):
That ever works?

Speaker 3 (31:46):
It doesn't work.

Speaker 6 (31:47):
John L. Way.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
They keep doing it. They keep doing it, all right, JR.
Appreciate you, JR.

Speaker 4 (31:54):
Thank you, no doubt, and check out all the good
work on mlbbro dot com.

Speaker 1 (32:00):
I'm telling you, if you're on social media, you see
our content.

Speaker 3 (32:05):
It's almost impossible not to see it. It's all over
MLB bro.

Speaker 4 (32:08):
Because what you need to know, right Alex, you know
you know how sometimes you might have to fight somebody.
They ain't they ain't carrying it, you know, they're they're
doing their their half, picking up the slack. Donovan Mitchell
might have to beat up James Harden in the locker room.
What did I call him yesterday? Oh that was too much,
hard to remember before. When you need them, you know,

(32:30):
choke somebody out, punch them whatever, Snuff them out the playoff,
pull the Purfoult
