to do coming up in our number three of the
odd Come here on a trash Talking Tuesday, A spirited
man audition of.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
Trash Talking Tuesday. I think we got people worked up.
We started it. Yeah, as matter of fact, we trash
you and then they trashed.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Oh yeah, we got one more hour. Watch it back.
Oh yeah, watch all yeah, watch it back.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
Bro all right, so today the news of the day.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
The Lakers had a press conference and they rolled out
the barrel and guess who fell out of it.

Speaker 4 (02:23):
It was Luca Dosh. You came out of the barrel.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
We're go join us Monday, and he's gonna start losing
weight go join us. He's gonna join our little run.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
We're gonna do starting Monday.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
But the big question, of course, was he was asked
about winning a championship with the Lakers and all that,
and here is.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
Luca obviously, Yeah, that's it. Win the championship. You don't
come here for nothing else in the championship. So I
have everything left to prove.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Yeah, everything, he says, he's got everything to prove. He's
coming to win a championship. And I know, like a
lot of people, well you know Lebron and Luca, you
don't want to see them because they're so great. They're
scorer is number one and two all time in the playoffs,
and you don't want to see those guys or whatever.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
I'm not buying it at all. And I'm gonna tell
you this, Kelvin.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Okay, I'm standing with the Dallas Mavericks on this.

Speaker 4 (03:23):
Wait, what hold that?

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Why I don't believe Luca's gonna win a championship with
Lebron with the Lakers. I'm not saying ever. Okay, with Lebron,
Luca will not nt win a championship. And I unless
he really turns things around, I get it. Last year

(03:45):
they went to the NBA Finals, right. Also, you remember
Denver got knocked off. It was weird, and things worked out.
They wind up getting there when people didn't think they
were even gonna make a run. And also Minnesota made
a run, right, And they're not the same team this
year as well. But my point is the West is
very tough, and right away people are pushing him to
the head. I know, I saw some people on the

(04:07):
talking heads on other networks talking about they're a number
one seed. No no, no, no, I shouldn't say that there
weren't the Lakers, but there were people who are on board,
on board with this, you know, the Lakers and this
whole notion that you don't want to see them and
all that. And I get it offensively what you're talking about,
but there's some other issues defensively, especially if nothing else

(04:29):
is done trade wise. I think this is an incomplete roster,
and I don't look at this as a championship roster.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
But I'm going to stick with the idea that.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
In the near future here and now, I'm with Dallas
that Luca under his conditions, under some of the stuff
that's gone on behind the scenes that people are talking
about that he's not, and that Lebron is not going
to be to transform him that quickly into this player that.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
People hoped he would be.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
I don't think anybody twenty five years old if you're
not there and you don't respect your body, and you
don't respect your craft and your profession and who you
are at twenty five, when you have everything going your way,
I don't think it gets better as you get older.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
I do not Lebron. You say he's in great shape.
He was always in great shape.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
He didn't get into great shape Zion where he is right,
He's not gonna be in great shape in five years.
You're gonna be like, oh my god, look at him.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
He's ripped. He's a back.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
No, I don't believe that, and I don't believe that
for Luca.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
So a couple of things. Number one, I'm gonna start
with this. Sometimes you need a why to make something happen.
A friend of you know this person too. I won't
put him out on the air. But heavyset in our profession,
writer and was always just big and got bigger than
he ever been, and one day, all of a sudden,

(06:01):
he just started working out, working out, posting, it all time.
Everybody was kind of championing him, and he lost like
almost two hundred pounds. And one day it was you
and I were doing our g you were a writer.
I didn't want to call rob you out.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
I'm sorry. And one day I got to sit with him. Robin.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
I said, hey, man, you know you've been doing your thing.
I've been supporting, You've been championing you. You lose lost
a lot wed I said, what what change? Like, I'm
sure you've what what he said? Man, I found my why.
And for him it was he was on an airplane
like he'd been a million times, and this man, this
freaking seatbelder. I don't know what's going on. What's going on?
Hey it's a flight attendant. Yeah, I think it's a jam.

(06:36):
And she said, no, it just you've you've exceeded it, right,
And so she had to add an adapter, and for
him that was his why, like I can't be living
my life where I need an adapter on an airplane.
And he lost a couple hundred punds legit, no zimpic,
none of that, just working out and every day he
would show you, I'm on a treadmill. I said that
to say, I believe this can be a why moment

(06:58):
for Luca.

Speaker 4 (06:59):
This can be the moment.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
Where he said, I've been better than everybody my whole life,
but now a team dumped me, A team said I'm
out on you. A team didn't believe that you can
become professional enough, didn't believe that you would take you
seriously enough, didn't believe that you cared about your craft
and being in shape and being a professional enough. This
may be the why. This may be the hard reset, right.
All he ever known in the NBA was being with

(07:22):
the Mavericks. This could be the reset for him to
be with the Lakers, that the expectations are with the Lakers,
with the limelight brings, with the Lakers being around a
Lebron and around the magic, in the reverence of Kobe
and the memory of Kobe.

Speaker 4 (07:38):
This could be a hard reset for him.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
So I do believe there's a possibility that now short term, No,
I don't believe they're gonna win a championship, becuse they
only got about what a year and a half run
the rest of the season and probably next year. My
guess ish right, that's what it is. Yeah, So I
don't expect the championship with he and Lebron. Now, I
do think they will be a tough out. I one
hundred percent believe that because if I.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Got those I don't defensively, I think the Fuka score
you want, But if you can't stop the other team.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
That's a lot to ask for to stop those two
A motivated, ticked off Luca and a Lebron who's just stilling.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
But Luca has missed playoff action as well because he's
always the bodies always.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
Yeah, but he went dragged the team to the finals
last year, played all the way through there, even hobbling.
So but now, long term, I won thousand percent expect
Luca to win a championship, if not multiple. He's just
that good. Anybody in NBA history just who's just been
that good has won a ring eventually, maybe one, maybe six.
But anybody that good as Luca is and will continue

(08:39):
to be, is absolutely gonna win a championship. So futuristically,
absolutely mark it down. Luca Donchers will win minimum one,
probably two, if not more rings this next year and
a half two years. I don't expect him and Lebron
to necessarily win, but I also don't believe they're gonna
be easy out. I wouldn't want to draw them in
the postseason because this is gonna take.

Speaker 3 (08:59):
What does that mean? What does that mean? Okay, you
don't want to draw the No, you don't want to
draw them for what reason? Because they're gonna win. I
don't understand what that means.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
Because you may be prior to him. No, No, I'm
not gonna answer prior to this trade. Okay, you may
have looked at the Lakers and said.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
Why him and Anthony Davis they won a championship right
because they went to the they went to the Western
Conference finals.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
Two years ago.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Why so, I'll tell you, is that Luca is that
dynamic that you have no answer for him.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
We have complained about Anthony Davis. What Andy Davis defense?
He can protect it. No, No, you're missing something that's
a big part of what Lakers and I agree with
you on that.

Speaker 4 (09:36):
But Luca is just that good that you know he's
I mean, throw this out at you. I don't know
if you knew this.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
Luca's never played defense, and word at land him in
the finals. Guess what, Kyrie Irving has never done play
defense and they landed him in the finals. And I'm
not saying they're going to you. I would prefer you
play defense, what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
But now you got two guys though you got to
Now you got two main guys.

Speaker 4 (09:58):
I call him the old Laker, and but one.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
Guy's forty years old, right, okay, and another guy who
ballooned up to two sixty.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
Now he didn't look like to I mean that what
I'm just saying.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
But that was during the season where they would worried
about him, right, because you put on so much ting.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
Now but my point is, you don't make this trade
knowing Lebron can't play that he just can't at this point,
knowing historically Luca never plays. He No, it's the future.
But what I'm saying, but it's the future. But you
want to also try to maximize your chance with Lebron.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
Why not? Literally? Why not?

Speaker 1 (10:33):
And so they're going to make a trade or two
or get even if a pick up a mid level
guy who can just Hey, bro, all we need from
you is defense. And I'm telling you now, if they
get in the postseason matchup somebody you don't want to
play a motivated tik doll.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
They're going to win. So I don't know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
Prior to this trade, you would have been like, it's
easy out if you're Oklahoma City, or if you're maybe
a Deaver or you'd have been.

Speaker 4 (10:57):
Like, oh, we got Anthony Davis, so he was in.
He out with Lebron. I don't understand it easy out.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
But what I'm saying is you're looking at them and saying,
this is the same team for you know, they they
won't have enough.

Speaker 4 (11:08):
Oh man, they just don't have enough, this Laker team enough.
And Lebron is.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
A tough out because the postseason comes down to possessions
and if the Lucas as well, you have to get
But if Luca has a ball or Lebron, every possession
is going to be a good possession. That may you
may not make every shot, that's just part of the game,
but every possession is going to be a great possession
When both of them have the ball. That is just

(11:32):
I mean, I don't know we've ever seen two guys
with that kind of I just.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
I think that there's some other issues with Luca that
need to be addressed at some point, and we'll see
what we'll starting with us. He is about to get
down to what to eighteen. Yeah, okay, we'll see if
that works out.

Speaker 4 (11:50):
But yeah, I'm not buying it. I mean, ask you
the long term, I said, he is you think he
ever gonna.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
Win win one? This is a chance when I don't know,
he's twenty five years old. Could he in one championship?

Speaker 4 (12:00):
Yes? All right, but I'm saying he's not winning one
with Lebron.

Speaker 1 (12:04):
This what people that think is that short? If this
is what happened two years ago, we might have a cop.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
Just don't if some people think they're that great and
him and Lebron or magic together, I just I don't see.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
I think there's gonna be a blast to watch.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
All right, Well, Luca win a championship during his Lakers career.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
We'll continue that conversation next with you.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
It is the Odd Couple eight seven, seven ninety nine
on Fox eight seven, seven nine nine six sixty three
sixty nine.

Speaker 4 (12:28):
We'll see.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
But I'm signing with the UH with the Dallas Mavericks
on this. I'm betting that they have a better shot
than Lebron.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
And Luca in the next few years than the Lakers. Two.
I'll give you one year. That's it. What you mean
one year. You got one year, all right? We want
to win this year. Stick and stay if you believe
Luca can ben here on the US of A.

Speaker 2 (12:51):

as Rob said earlier, a very spirited trash talking Tuesday.

Speaker 4 (13:11):

Speaker 1 (13:14):

Speaker 1 (13:36):
Uh, Luca winning a championship with the Lakers is something
we're asking you.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
Do you think that's gonna happen, especially we're.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
Talking about with Lebron because I'm not saying ten years
from now, but I'm talking about.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
Lan Bron Bron get it Done Done eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox Who.

Speaker 4 (13:53):
We got all right?

Speaker 3 (13:54):
Jimmy from Motor Beach, you're on the odd couple. Is
it Myrtle Beach or Motor I don't know. I heard
a Motor Beach.

Speaker 4 (14:00):
I never heard of most. Hey Jimmy, you're on the out.

Speaker 6 (14:04):
Hey brother, how are you doing tonight?

Speaker 4 (14:06):
Doing great? How are you doing? Okay?

Speaker 6 (14:09):
Let me tell you that when you think about where
Ron Polak is, he's just not the leader of the Lakers. Now.
He was Kobe's guy for what ten twelve years? He
knows all about conditioning. And then you take to Lebron,
who is the conditioning king. You put Luca in a
room with them for six months, and you could have
an MVP next year. And Lebrono had twelve thirteen, fifteen

(14:31):
assists a night while he's feeding that kid. I understand
they're going to go after that center in Utah to
make up for the defensive deficiencies. But I think it's
a great combination and it might even push out and
extend Lebron's career for an extra year.

Speaker 4 (14:45):
It's a great point.

Speaker 3 (14:46):
That last point is a great I think you're wishful
thinking into thinking that Luca all of a sudden uh
is going to be in better condition as he gets older.

Speaker 4 (14:55):
I disagree with that.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
Have you seen it any worse?

Speaker 3 (14:59):
It's he has some bad habits that need to change.
That's what I'm talking.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
Why can't he win to marry make that change? Like
Michael Jackson, I'm thank.

Speaker 4 (15:09):
You for the call. Appreciate it. Jimmy, thanks, They appreciate it.
Andre and Massachusetta people in the box. They can't change
their life. Ron, you're in the eye couple of Fox Sports.
Can go six months be eating horrible and then six
months being great. I can do it. He kept showing
you I've done it. Did he trade me a way
away at twenty five years old? Uh? Dre, you're in
the odd couple. What's up?

Speaker 7 (15:30):
Hey?

Speaker 8 (15:30):
What's going on?

Speaker 9 (15:31):
Thanks taking the call?

Speaker 4 (15:32):
Listen.

Speaker 9 (15:32):
Of course, Luca don Chicic can make an NBA finals
and win the NBA Finals with Lebron James because this
is the best teammate that he's had, and you saw
what happened. He was able to get it done with
Kyrie Irving in a year when they weren't supposed to
break through and make the finals. So, of course, with Lebron,
who even though he's long in the tooth, it's later
on in his career, Lebron is no. Lebron is still

(15:54):
keeping track or he calculates these things, and now he
sees that he has an opportunity. We so what the
Lakers could do and what they couldn't do. That iteration
was not gonna win a championship, and everybody knew it.
But the reason that this is a better opportunity is
because Luka Doncis and I personally don't buy any of
this conditioning nonsense. Babe Ruth in great shape?

Speaker 3 (16:14):
Can you stop? Stop you talking about a player from
the twenties? Come on, Trey, see what you by? Come
on now, come on, really, Baby Ruth stopping Ray. They
didn't trade Baby Ruth because he ate eight hot dogs. Okay.

Speaker 4 (16:28):
The reason that the Red Sox traded Baby Ruth.

Speaker 3 (16:31):
Because the owner needed money and the Yankees paid the
money for the They didn't get rid of him because.

Speaker 4 (16:35):
He was Bigrey. Oh stop, Drey, you're my man.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
But come on now, there is a certain thing Ruth
a better condition and nobody's saying that. Luca clearly has
been absurdly insanely good. It's all right to ask him
to be in better shape, period, Like, that's nothing wrong
with that.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
I think he can still get the job done. You
don't make a move like that.

Speaker 4 (16:56):
Jet.

Speaker 3 (16:56):
But because it's not his ability, we all know how
good he is and how great of a player he is.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
That's what I'm trying to get to you.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
But party, he was so good that he is eligible
for the Super Mess because he hit all of the criteria.

Speaker 4 (17:11):
That you need. No, you're right.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
And it's also they're thinking, I don't agree with the move.
If I'm the Mavericks that was I think that's crazy.
But they're also thinking long term, and he has to
think long term. If I want to play this game
another ten twelve years, I gotta get in better shape.

Speaker 4 (17:25):
He's got like a thirty five year old body. He
has to get in better shape. Drake Thatt's just period.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
Even if we let's say the trade never happened, we
just happened to be talking about the Mavericks. Say they're in
the finals again, that's a conversation we would have again
even without this trade.

Speaker 3 (17:38):
Mason from the Bay Area, you're in the baseball Fox
Sports radio.

Speaker 7 (17:42):
What's up, Hey, guys, great show.

Speaker 10 (17:45):
Loved the trash talk earlier.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
Yeah, and they were fired up what they doubt Mason God.

Speaker 10 (17:51):
But you know, I don't think it's out of the
realm of possibility that it happens. But at the same time,
I don't think like that's been the big talk of
what what is expected right now? I mean, yeah, I
mean it's ushering, ushering whatever. Lebron concerts right, go ahead,

(18:12):
you know they're moving Lebron out stage left. You know,
his time is over. But I don't think that that
is the main concern right now about the Lakers winning
a championship right here, right now. Heck yeah, it'd be
a great cherry on top. But I don't see that
really happening. But I don't think that's what's expected right now.
I mean, we saw those odds makers, you know, move

(18:34):
the lines in the Lakers favors. I thought that was,
you know, just a money scam of sorts. You know,
it is a scam, it's a right.

Speaker 3 (18:43):
What what they do in Vegas is they try to
make it so that people will pour money money on something.
Wise nobody will put it on. I mean, like people
need to be smart about this. This is a it's
a ruse, no doubt about it.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
All right, appreciate the call, Mason, Thank you, baby.

Speaker 3 (18:59):
Yeah, Brandon and over side California couple, Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (19:03):
What's up beat?

Speaker 8 (19:05):
I'm good, I'm good. What's going on, y'all?

Speaker 4 (19:07):
Hi, y'all here in New Orleans living it up? Brother?

Speaker 3 (19:09):
Did you buy did you buy a Lakers season tickets
for the rest of the year.

Speaker 8 (19:14):
No, I didn't, not a Lakers saying that's right, that's right.

Speaker 4 (19:19):
I do know that.

Speaker 8 (19:23):
No, they're not gonna win a championship. No, you said
there right on the point, Rob, they gotta play defense.
You got two guys. They played some of the worst
defense in the league now, especially with Lebron because he's
just old.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
At what point Lebron had the worst, right, Rob, g
He had the worst plus minus, the worst defensive rating
in the entire lead.

Speaker 4 (19:47):
It's not.

Speaker 8 (19:49):
Yeah, they have to you get They're gonna have to
learn how to play defense. Yeah, they're gonna be able
to score. I'm not We're not no one. I don't
think anyone ever saying that they're not gonna be able
to score. But they are gonna have to learn how
to play some type of defense, and I think and
another thing that that might affect Luca though in general.
Remember he's going to the just the same way you

(20:09):
say Aaron Rodgers going to New York, and you're dealing
with that media market. You're dealing with what the second
biggest media market. So we're gonna really see Luca just
in general, because before you heard it, you'll hear about
Luca on sports in there or Fox Sports or whatever,
click on the social media. But now we're gonna know
him because he's in LA with the Lakers and he's

(20:32):
gonna have to perform almost every night.

Speaker 3 (20:34):
And I agree, you know what, And they'll look at
him a little closer because he got traded away, dumped.
So now what it's a thing out there right, like,
what's wrong with him? I'm gonna look at her close.
Is he working out hanging out?

Speaker 1 (20:49):
Is he that I'm telling y'all that beer thing with
Michael Finley.

Speaker 4 (20:53):
We all laughed.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
That was a serious thing because you can tell the
organization had expectations and requirements of him, and so him
sitting there having a beer, I guarantee you they had
a here's what you.

Speaker 4 (21:02):
See away We wad back for it because he's like,
are you kidding me?

Speaker 1 (21:05):
D we just won the Western Conference Final championship. You
getting ready to go to And he's like, nah, bro,
give me that because that has X amount of calories,
X amount of SODI Dad, And you can tell they
were absolutely serious about that.

Speaker 4 (21:16):
You know who loves the Mavericks. Carrie Rose loves the Mavericks.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
Former NFL All Pro and of course Fox Sports Radio
Weekend Home.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
Carry Roase's allegiances all over the place. He's like a
big Yankee fan.

Speaker 4 (21:29):
Loves Lamar Jacks, right right, Harry, and now the Mavericks.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
Yeah, we'll ask him about all that his allegiance in
just a minute. Looking forward to chopping it up with Carry.
But right now, Isaac lower Kron has what's trending?

Speaker 4 (21:39):
What somebody low ye got.

Speaker 11 (21:41):
Bad news for Carrie because the Mavericks just lost that
Philadelphia moments ago one eighteen to one sixteen.

Speaker 4 (21:48):
Joelle covered the spread. Oh my god, yeah it was
one of the half one and a half. Oh my god.
The Sixers covered the spread well about that, you would know,
thank guy right there.

Speaker 11 (22:02):
Tomorrow we have Joel embiid to think because triple double
in his first game since January fourth, He hit the
game winning layup with twenty two seconds to play to
put Philadelphia up one seventeen to one sixteen. But then
no word yet on whether this was for Rob Parker,
but Joel Embiid just happened to hit an insurance free

(22:24):
throw with five points seven left in the fourth quarter
to make it a two point.

Speaker 4 (22:29):
Hit throws for you. That's all right, I love that dude.

Speaker 11 (22:33):
All business when it comes to Rob Parker. Folks twenty
nine points, eleven rebounds, ten assists in thirty six minutes.
By the way, Max Christi fifteen points and nine rebounds
off the bench in his Mavericks debut. Right now, the
Boston Celtics up ninety two to eighty at Cleveland two
minutes into the fourth quarter, the Cavaliers shooting thirty eight

(22:54):
percent from the field. They are eight out of thirty
one from three point range, and the New York Knicks
up on one to eighty eight at Toronto thirty seconds
out of the fourth quarter. Carl Anthony Towns with twenty
two points and seventeen rebounds in twenty nine minutes of action,
finally got a sneak preview for the two of you

(23:14):
on your way to the super Bowl media party. Okay,
here's what it sounded like just minutes ago. Fox Sports
Greg Allman posted this clip of the award winning New
Orleans Edna Carr High School Marching Band performing just moments
ago at the super Bowl media party.

Speaker 4 (23:36):
Okay, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey jiddy.

Speaker 11 (23:42):
Huh and this just in free gumbo, free gumbo, I
repeat at the super Bowl media party. So you better
hurry down there.

Speaker 4 (23:53):
Guys will get it. You are always tapped in man.

Speaker 3 (23:56):
Yes, and the party is until eleven o'clock Local times.

Speaker 4 (24:00):
We got it already started, dude. No, no, I'm saying
it is ends at eleven o'clock local times.

Speaker 11 (24:07):
Me with a party for degenerate media members. And it
ends that early.

Speaker 4 (24:12):
Yes, well they did.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
We found out that our hotel, the bar, and the
restaurants staying open till two.

Speaker 4 (24:17):
Because of us. Yeah, there you go. Party. We were
all old and she was making fun of Usilo. She said,
we're gonna call it a night.

Speaker 1 (24:25):
She said, they have paid us to stay up un
till two for the Fox people. Like oh okay, so
and then just wait till the end of the way.
It says early. It's early, It's Tuesday.

Speaker 4 (24:34):
All right. I love thank you by you.

Speaker 1 (24:36):

So I was walking around New Orleans. Felt good doing that.
All right, It's time for Carry Roase to join the show.
Former NFL All Pro Fox Sports Radio Weekend os man.

Speaker 4 (25:08):
Carry Road some music. We don't have you carry What's
what's matter? You know he's an artist. We could use
one of your songs. Carry Yeah. How are you buddy?

Speaker 7 (25:16):
Yeah? Y'all dropped the ball. I mean I thought we
loved each other.

Speaker 4 (25:19):
I thought, yes, yeah right, Alex. You know Alex, we
gotta get a Carry Road song, Yeah, one to carry?

Speaker 3 (25:27):
So yes, absolutely, Carrol, how excited are you?

Speaker 4 (25:31):
Are you? Are you mad? Or you want to refund
off your Dallas Mavericks. Where are you on this?

Speaker 12 (25:38):
I do not want to refund.

Speaker 7 (25:39):
I'm a Dallas Mavericks fan first, But I mean, obviously
the way the trade went down and the ramifications that
it can be down the line, it's just it's pretty
despicable when you when you think of when you think
of the way it went down. Now, obviously they still
have a chance to win. They're going to be really
they're going to be a detaining once everything kind of
message together. But man, I mean the thing about Luca

(26:02):
Man and he had just bought a fifteen million dollar
house and was getting settled there and he thought that
was home. Man, that's just tough. I've been traded without
knowing as well. And then you know, I found out
I was traded on Sports Center.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
So wait a minute, So you man, you had the
TV on and they said, oh, Kerry Rose today was
traded and found out.

Speaker 7 (26:24):
Well, I was just getting half Moore workout. I had
a talk with the Jets. They wanted me back. We're
gonna we're gonna bring you back. We're gonna make it,
We're gonna handle it. I'm in La working out, getting
down on the workout. I'm sitting down in front of
the TV about to each and uh, Sports Center comes
up there this jet had flew the coop.

Speaker 6 (26:42):
I'm like, what jet?

Speaker 7 (26:43):
And it was me.

Speaker 4 (26:47):
Yeah, I know how man.

Speaker 1 (26:49):
I mean, Luca obviously was shook by it, shocked by it.
I saw his dad on some uh some show I
don't know, in another in another country.

Speaker 4 (26:57):
He was. He was talking about it. He was shocked
by it too, all right.

Speaker 1 (27:01):
So then let me ask you this. When we were
just talking about Luca winning a championship. You live in La,
so you keep up with the Lakers. You think he
and Ron a mess? Well, can they win one?

Speaker 7 (27:12):
They're not gonna have been one right now? No, I
mean that team isn't constructed to win. I mean this
is obviously a move for the future. I mean this
is like a mass exodus of what it's been. I
mean Lebron will play one more or two more years possibly,
and I mean obviously next year they'll be what equipped
to possibly make a run. But this year, I mean
they're not gonna win this year.

Speaker 4 (27:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (27:34):
And I think when you look at it and and
you follow the Mavericks, I want to get back to Luca.
The way that they handled this telling me there's something
that they saw or they experience that they didn't like
enough carry to offer a twenty five year old who's
hit all of the triggers to be a Supermax get

(27:56):
three hundred and fifty million dollars. They do it in
the club oak of midnight, you know, one o'clock in
the morning, East Coast time. Don't let him know, don't
let his agent know. Right like, there was something there
that that that shook them about Luca and going forward?

Speaker 4 (28:14):
Would you agree with that?

Speaker 7 (28:16):
One hundred? I mean this is deeper. I mean this
is deeper than basketball. I mean there's been conspiracy theory,
theories already going on that the new owner, new owner group,
Patrick Dumont and all those guys are Fasino people. They
want to move to team to Vegas. I mean, there's
so many things there.

Speaker 4 (28:30):
That's one.

Speaker 7 (28:31):
But also I mean with Luca Man and I mean
even I'm a fan, I'm a super fan of Ballast
and when I watched them play, there were times when
I was irritated with some of the stuff he would do,
just some of the actics. I mean, the constant rating
of the rest and not getting back on dec.

Speaker 3 (28:46):
I think that I think he's so good that that's
so ugly. I think that takes away from his game.

Speaker 7 (28:52):
It does. It really, it really makes it bad to
watch because the flow, when he's in flow and he's
balling and and everything, that's right. I mean, see, he's
one of the best in the world, and that's no debate, yep.
But when it gets when he gets into that stuff though,
it's just it's it's a little it's a little irritating,
all right.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
Carry let's get back to some NFL action here. We
got the Eagles and we got the Chiefs. So much
has been made. Let me ask you when you play
a team that may be it was for you in
the same division with the Patriots, Like they got a
bunch of calls, right, Tom Brady's got all a bunch
of favorable calls, and we have a lot of people
who are saying the Chiefs are getting the whistle? Now,
how did you go about that? Was that back of

(29:29):
your head, like how did you compete? Feeling as if, man,
we're up against that team and we might be up
against the Reps too, as a lot of people seem
to think with the Chiefs.

Speaker 7 (29:38):
Oh, it ain't no seam in the state. Don't don't
be PGK. The Chiefs get a lot of calls, man,
a lot of questionable calls too. But yes, you're right.
I mean, when you play teams like that, you know
you have to do everything by the letter of the
law and there you got to let the rest of
it play out. But you can't go into the game
thinking they're going to get a call and not play

(30:00):
hard through the whistle like that. You just got to
do that. If you don't, you're gonna end up hurting
yourself or costing your team. So I mean, yes, that's
in the back of your mind, but it doesn't change
the mentality. You got to go out and compete hard.
And I think with the teams and I think the
Patrick Mahomes in general, I mean, teams know that he's
going to get called, so you just got to go hard.
You got they got to hit that guy.

Speaker 12 (30:20):
You can't.

Speaker 7 (30:21):
You can't worry about not you know, making making a
mistake and hitting them late. Like you have to hit
him because he's at the point now where he can
manipulate some of those calls. He's kind of running down
the sideline knowing he's not going to get to us
and then fake. It's just it's that part makes me
sick too, just they.

Speaker 6 (30:36):
Got to hit him.

Speaker 3 (30:38):
And I'll say this, for the officials to come out
with a statement tells you how loud it has been,
Carrie right. I mean I've been covering the league since
what year, kept nineteen eighty seven? Nineteen eighty seven, okay,
because I say it all the time, and I never
remember officials having to come out with a statement to
say that they don't help a team. Think about that

(31:02):
means that's how loud it was right from NFL America.

Speaker 7 (31:06):
It's not even yet. I mean not even just fans
or you know, the casual fan, Watson. This is coming
from players, right, Like players are like this, what are
you doing? I mean, it's gotten to the point where
it's just blanktly obvious. And I think it comes down
to I mean, there's a lot of factors there. There's
a lot of factors in play with that same they
got the world's attention, obviously the Taylor Swift effect, but

(31:29):
you know, like when you have that that adoration for somebody,
you give them the benefit of the dolls in life
in general, I think the NFL gives them the benefit
of the doubt. And I think that's the part where
even if they're not cheating, you can't go into any
game giving anybody the benefit of the dolls.

Speaker 4 (31:46):
I think they've just master how to manipulate it, like
like an.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
Charges. I'm saying. They act like Patrick Mahomes literally acts.

Speaker 3 (31:55):
Like right right, and they for it though. Yeah, And
I just wonder, can you imagine if if because of
all of the talk and all that, there is some
call that doesn't get called at time?

Speaker 4 (32:09):
Do you know what I mean, one that they don't
get Do you know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (32:12):
Because everybody's watching, the referees know, everybody knows. And if
they see some fake penalty on the Super Bowl and
Patrick Flys.

Speaker 1 (32:23):
Gonna be one, you know what I mean, minutes he
gonna get something. Carry we gotta go, man, ending with this,
what's your score?

Speaker 4 (32:30):
Who's winning? Who you got?

Speaker 3 (32:32):
Man?

Speaker 6 (32:33):
My heart?

Speaker 7 (32:34):
Obviously, I mean Philadelphia is a better team on paper,
but it looks like all the cards are in, all
the chips are in on the Chiefs. Man, I think
the Chiefs are gonna pull it out. Why without the rest?

Speaker 1 (32:49):
He said, because the rest there you go, man. Carry
Rose appreciate your breaking. Man, you gotta tell about they
can find a new album or so. I know you'd
be dropping some music on them.

Speaker 7 (32:59):
Oh real, So you guys have fun, don't eat too much.

Speaker 1 (33:01):
Well, I can't promise you that we're getting ready to
go do that right now, Carrie Man, thank you so much.
All right, carry Roe says the Chiefs win because of
the refs. That's aim say because of Patrick Holmes. Last
Call eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. It sounds
like last Call here. We know the only people in

the Travis Matthew. But I got the nice little polo
on you. No, you had an odd couple shirt on
then you just switched them. I just want something different

Speaker 4 (33:57):

Speaker 1 (33:58):

chain that's underneath.

This is the last in the back?

Speaker 4 (34:45):
All right, call, no call? Who we got Max from Georgia.

Speaker 3 (34:50):
You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio and guess what, Max,
You're the last call?

Speaker 4 (34:55):
What's hey?

Speaker 3 (34:57):
Rob?

Speaker 12 (34:57):
How you doing Bro long time, no talk. Such an
old conversation between Rob and I.

Speaker 7 (35:04):
I remember when.

Speaker 12 (35:05):
This was trash talk. So I had a trash talk
go and I hope that's okay, Yes, okay. So I'm
talking about Patrick Mahomes given the current situation, so I'm
gonna do this. So to me, MJ's three piece.

Speaker 13 (35:19):
He did it in the air where he didn't have
the rest to help him, he didn't have the league
to help him. He got over the Pistons, the Celtics,
he leveled up, he hit the weight room, he got
over the Jordan Wolves. The current level of play in.

Speaker 12 (35:31):
Competition right now in the NFL is blackluster, to say
the least, even Tom Brady's air, not least Joe Montana's air.
The defense could actually hit you. I mean, why do
you think Tom Brady ever lost the Super Bowl? He
got hit right now. Patrick Mahomes is Lebron James of
the NFL. He's being forced down our throats and he's

(35:53):
helped constantly.

Speaker 7 (35:55):
Both don't have a.

Speaker 12 (35:56):
Signature play worth memory, and either the Finals nor Super Bowl.

Speaker 7 (36:00):
That's my last call. Good to hear from you, Rob.

Speaker 3 (36:03):
You do well, no doubt, Thank you, Max and I'm
glad that you're still listening to the.

Speaker 4 (36:08):
Pro we are. Thank you for the block by Lebron.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
That's like the most iconic, one of the most iconic
players in the finals.

Speaker 4 (36:14):
Ever who made the shot Kyrie? Okay, that that means No,
I'm just asking. I just want to make sure that
you know.

Speaker 1 (36:23):
I just want to make sure that you know that
I know that you know I want to make and
if they score that layup, that might be game set. Okay,
but you still need somebody to knock down that Kyrie
did and Lebron wasn't gonna do it.

Speaker 4 (36:34):
You already know that.

Speaker 1 (36:35):
Why why can't Why can't Why I got to be
bringing up that he had to missignature moment and you
want to bring up Kyrie.

Speaker 4 (36:39):
I'm just saying the trap talking right now, Hey, you can't.
We ain't got time. We can finish this.

Speaker 3 (36:47):
You know, shoot to touch your wife telling her to
turn the radio back.

Speaker 1 (36:52):
That's right, Rob, I've to tell you that what my
wife she said. No, that's what he's talking about my wife.
Somebody's like, oh, you listening to Calvin's news show, and
oh yes, she's like, oh yeah, listen.

Speaker 4 (37:01):
Sometimes they're like, oh, kind of like, well, why does
she say like this? She's like, they argue too much.
I turned.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
I turned when they started arguing. She said it so
casually too all right, real quick, I was. I was
watching all the shows today and some of the buzz
was that the Packers president is petitioning to get rid
of the tush push. He said it has no place,
and it used to be outlawed and banned, and now
he said he thinks it should be. It's too hard

(37:28):
to regulate, and he thinks it's just a play that
the NFL should get rid of.

Speaker 4 (37:32):
I say no, because there's only one team that doesn't
does it?

Speaker 1 (37:35):
Well, Josh Allen tries it was two for five against
the Chiefs. Why do I got to get rid of
something that really only one team really does.

Speaker 3 (37:42):
I think that he's right, actually, and I'm gonna tell
you why, why, Because why shouldn't you put in a
play where you have your guys stand around like to
protect the guy has the ball and and just move
forward and continue to like.

Speaker 4 (37:58):
Like, I don't know why no one's done that. And
I'm not talking about just for a yard or two.

Speaker 3 (38:03):
You get the ball, your guys, the offensive.

Speaker 4 (38:07):
Line're gonna push them forward and they get.

Speaker 3 (38:09):
And then the other guys they put push them forward
and just go for ten yards, like you keep your
footing and you can Why you're no, what I'm saying,
you can't do that?

Speaker 4 (38:22):
Why can't you? It's the same thing what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (38:24):
Physically, they cannot do that, just the easy Why nobody
other than the Eagles can do the No. But but
I know they have the offensive line. But I'm saying that,
But I'm saying, I'm saying I would try to do that.

Speaker 1 (38:37):
The push looks like a quarterback snak, which has been
around a gazillion years.

Speaker 4 (38:40):
Right. No, but they're literally That's what I'm saying. Why
can't you push it?

Speaker 3 (38:45):
I need three hiking the ball and everybody push them forward.
Got the running back or something that is too obvious
where they would change it, Like.

Speaker 4 (38:54):
I'm not blocking. We're just standing up like like the
old Spartans. You know that when they used to fight,
they had the right right right, the little shield and
shield and they would just stand there and go forward
and just move forward.

Speaker 1 (39:04):
What will be interesting is if somebody brings up this
and says it's not fair that if I pick up
the defender robs and I take them backwards. It's for
a progress you push them forward. It's until we tackle him.
That's so I'm saying that that part, I would say,
why is it fair that the offense gets this is
what I'm saying. This is well, you'd have brought up

(39:26):
three hundred and Spartaka and and and I'm.

Speaker 3 (39:28):
Just giving you like an idea that that nobody's done it.

Speaker 4 (39:33):
But I would push the envelope.

Speaker 3 (39:34):
If I was a coaching the NFL, I think I
would try to design to play. Have the guys stand up,
get the get the ball carrier or a quarterback he's
in the middle, surround him and just move forward and
just walk forward as far as far as I can.

Speaker 4 (39:50):
The defenders can't do anything. What can they do? Dive
at knees? Okay, yeah, people will start getting hurt. You
can't tackle tackle my knees.

Speaker 1 (39:58):
I'm gonna stop this. Tom Brady rules in a no lies. Yeah,
so all right, we ode our way to the media party. Yeah,
I'm hungry.

Speaker 3 (40:05):
Were the Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon is coming
up next?
