on the air.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
Tickle your fancy.
Speaker 5 (01:13):
That's good one.
Speaker 4 (01:14):
Should you steal that from me?
Speaker 3 (01:15):
I did, because you just said that.
Speaker 4 (01:18):
I'm very ticklish, by the way, are you pause?
Speaker 5 (01:26):
Well, I will say this one real quick shout us
to Tony Paz. He said, y'all got me laughing over here. Almfa.
Speaker 4 (01:33):
At least we're doing something. If we're not making people laugh,
then what are we doing?
Speaker 3 (01:37):
Nothing?
Speaker 4 (01:37):
Exactly exactly nothing.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
By the way, Fowler fair with Jr. Gamble coming up
at bottom of the hour. We're gonna stick with what
the odd couple fans know and love of course baseball
topics with him. And we are watching a lot of
NFL preseason football on all these televisions. Your guy, Trey
Lance literally almost threw a pick six. Nice right, nice
Sexans defender.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
I'm excited about that.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
He's in regular season form.
Speaker 4 (02:04):
Yeah, okay, Week one.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
Right, and everybody's really excited about what was one with
the Raiders. They they're scheming guys open and they're running
through wide holes, and you know, Mendoza got a couple
of guys killed. But other than that, hey, it's week one,
Week one of the preseason.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
Week one of the preseason.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
You're not going to overreact now like Carson Beck, Then
what are you even doing?
Speaker 4 (02:24):
Yeah, why are we even talking about football? I don't know,
you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
I don't know. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
But I am very excited for this football season.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
What are you most excited about with the upcoming football season.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
There's a couple of teams that I that I I'm
over the Chargers and people saying they're good, good year.
That's my team, but it's we've been saying that every
years they are going to have a good year. Yeah,
don't say that to me right now, don't say that
to me. I'm really curious to see what Atlanta does.
I feel like with Atlanta for the last two three years,
(02:55):
we've been like, oh, they're going to be so good,
like on paper, they have so much talent, so much,
they have so much talent. Yeah, and they've left a
lot to be desired. So even though it's to a Tagobailoa,
he's gonna throw the ball, he will throw the ball.
So I'm excited to see what happens with Atlanta. Even
I'm not a fan of Atlanta. I just want to
see what they can do. I want them to be
(03:15):
good because of what you said everything on paper. I
am really curious to see what Patrick Mahomes looks like, because,
like I hope he looks bad because I'm for dynasties.
I think dynasties in any sport are good. So I
don't hate the Chiefs, And in fact, if the Chiefs
get back on top, I don't think that's a bad thing.
If people will hate Watch people other teams who are
(03:37):
not fans of the Chiefs fans will you know, get
together and they will hate Watch and all of that.
So I'm really curious to see what's gonna happen there.
I want to see what happens in the you know,
the division and the NFC North Division, like what they
can win exactly that doesn't happen most Nope, Nope, nope, nope. So, yeah,
(03:57):
there's a lot, there's a lot to look forward to.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
Are you buying Kyler Murray in Minnesota?
Speaker 4 (04:02):
Buying? In what sense? He's better than nine?
Speaker 3 (04:05):
Call him nine? Yeah, he's better than Oh my gosh,
there's his trademarket game.
Speaker 4 (04:10):
There's one JJ on the team and it ain't him
in my mind?
Speaker 3 (04:12):
Whoa disrespect to the McCarthy household.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
Sure, yes, your one quarter that you had good last year,
that you did well in does nothing for me?
Speaker 3 (04:22):
Can you just call him J instead of JJ? No,
he's calling him nine. Seems like you're like paying homage
to him. Yeah, no, because that's his alter.
Speaker 4 (04:28):
Ego, right, and his alter ego is hilarious.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
His alter ego sucks, that's my point.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
Right, So that's what I'm referring to him as nine.
I think Kyler Murray knows how to do the job.
So I think it'll be better than what we saw Minnesota.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
Because the bar is so low, that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (04:43):
Yeah, absolutely, so it's going to be better than what
we saw last year. And with the Vikings, like they
already have a good defense, so it's like he doesn't
have to do it.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
We have a good everything, they have a good every they.
Speaker 4 (04:52):
Have a great team. They have a great team, and
I think like they're coming out thinking we're going to
win this division. Like you said, all four teams think
that they can win the division. And the one thing,
the one team that I would not think they could
win the division would be the Packers. Packers to me
are the same team. It's like you're good, but you're
not great.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
Okay, you're good.
Speaker 4 (05:12):
You're a good team. You're gonna have competitive games and
you're gonna win some. But I don't trust the Packers.
Since Aaron Rodgers left, the best they've been has been
a seventh seed.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
I think they were a seventh seed three years in
a row, right, and I think so, yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:25):
Like they just can't get out of that that hump.
And again they're good.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
They're like a double digit win team, and then.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
And then and then that's it. I know what I'm
gonna get. I would be surprised if the Packers, and
not that I hate the Packers. If they do it,
that's great, but I just would not say the Packers
win that division.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
Okay, well, speaking of that division, Yeah, there's another team
I wanted to get your thoughts on because Ben Johnson
said this week to the Athletic Quote, You've got thirty
one other teams coming to training camps saying our goal
is to win a Super Bowl. Well, I want more
than that. I want to have the highest scoring offense ever,
(06:02):
which happens to be the twenty thirteen Broncos. I know
how many points per game they scored, which is thirty
seven point nine and I want to surpass them. I
want shutouts. I want blowouts. Ben Johnson is crazy because
not only are they not gonna have the highest scoring offense,
I'm willing to say that very confidently. I don't think
that's even like a hot take. I'll do you one better.
(06:23):
I think they're gonna miss the playoffs entirely. Ben Johnson
knows himself. He said it what two weeks ago. We
are the number one regression candidate for good reason because
last season, seven of their wins, including the playoff win,
occurred when trailing in the final two minutes of regulation.
Some people like Rob parkersaga, well, see they got the
(06:44):
clutch gene. They know how to win games. Caleb Williams,
oh god, have you seen the throw he made? Darred Lambeau,
Oh god, that kind of winning is not sustainable in
the NFL. We saw it happen a couple of years
back with the Kansas City Chiefs. They won off a
doink field goal, a botch field goal, snap, they won
(07:05):
off of a block field goal. They won off of
an egregious pass interference. There, they won a game where
Isaiah likely made the catch to tie it, but his
toe was out of bounds or it was overjer What
happened after they won like twelve straight one score games
that year. The next year, I think they lost six straight.
Like that's what happens. The law of averages says, all
(07:27):
the good fortune you had last season, all that late
game magic, all that iceman stuff from Caleb Williams is
gonna fade away very quickly. And speaking of Caleb Williams,
he's on the cover of Madden. Everybody likes him again, right.
He came out of college. He was the best quarterback
prospect we'd ever seen, or at least the best since
(07:49):
Andrew Luck. Last season, Caleb Williams, I don't know if
you know this, completed just fifty eight percent of his
passes okay, which is thirty second in the Football End League.
His off target rate, which means percentage of his passes
that were not even catchable, much less dropped like they
(08:11):
were so wide no one could even reach them with
their outstretched arm. Twenty JJ Justin Jefferson couldn't catch him.
More than twenty percent of his passes were deemed uncatchable.
One out of every five times he pulled his right
shoulder back and let it fly. He was just throwing
it to air to nobody. And that's part of the
(08:32):
reason why you got anonymous coaches telling the Athletic where
you're like, oh my god, there's games he's just not good.
You got another one telling ESPN wildly erratic, doesn't always
take the layups. Needs to be more mature at the
position between the erratic play of Caleb Williams between the
(08:54):
what is the word when something goes one way and
regression to the me In terms of the coming back,
that team is going to be the prime candidate to
be the most disappointing team in football this season.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
Yeah, it's impossible to not feel that way. As you mentioned,
seven games down in the final two minutes, so many
things had to go their way to end with that record. Right,
So now you have a tougher schedule and now teams
you kind of have a target on your back, especially
in this division, because for the last couple of years,
weren't you weren't that relevant compared to the Lions and
(09:30):
the Packers and the Vikings, and so now there's a
bit of a target on your back, and so naturally,
of course we're all gonna feel that this is the
team that's gonna regress the comments that Ben Johnson made.
I just was like, if I heard my coach say this,
I would this would rub me the wrong way. It's
almost like he's speaking like he's still an offensive coordinator.
(09:52):
Had the offensive coordinator said that, you'd be like, yeah, cool,
of course, let's get as many points as we possibly can.
The head coach do not say that. That is not
how you should view the upcoming season. And so it
left a bad taste in my mouth because I just
was like Ben Johnson, as I get what you're trying
to say. You're trying to lift up your quarterback and
(10:15):
say that you are gonna have success and that you
are gonna score a lot of points. And we like scoring,
we do, you know what I mean? It brings in
the eyeballs, we like it. But that comment was not
a head coach comment. That was an offensive coordinator comment.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
Well, he said even more stuff like that was the
one that got all the headlines. He also mentioned the
two thousand and three, two thousand and four Patriots who
won twenty one straight games, and he says, why can't
we do that? There's never an undefeated season. You know,
the moon is the super Bowl, but we're shooting beyond
that for the stars.
Speaker 4 (10:46):
What is beyond the super Bowl?
Speaker 3 (10:48):
I don't know a person is exact.
Speaker 4 (10:49):
I'm super confused. What is beyond the super Bowl? What
is the star he's talking about? That makes no sense
to me. None of it makes sense. And listen, benja
is quirky, quirky. We know that I liked Ben Johnson
last year. I like his weirdness, his intensity that comes
along with the weirdness, because you know your boyfriend Ata
(11:10):
Mendoza is weird, but he's a little bit, let's just say,
a little nicer, oh softer, right, Ben Johnson seems like,
I don't know, like he may he may have a
little evil in him, which I like. I like a
little evil in a person, especially in my head. Coach,
but you have to keep the main thing the main thing,
and the main thing is to win the Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
Yeah. Absolutely, And I'll tell you what to your original
point about these comments are okay from an oc, but
not from the coach. I said before last season that
I could envision a scenario where things go terribly bad
between him and Caleb Williams because the way he coaches
is very structured on time on target very Sean McVay,
(11:51):
Kyle Shanahan like, like, my system works, God bless you
my system. My system works. Trust the system. Make the
play that are there. Caleb Williams is not played like
that at all. He runs around, he scrambles back. He
makes a lot of plays happen. The game time touchdown
pass he had or the game winning touchdow maybe in
(12:11):
Green Bay was him rolling back twenty five yards and
throwing it blindly to the back corner of the ante.
That's not how you coach football. And so if Ben
Johnson had this idea that we are gonna be the
highest scoring offense ever and we're gonna be undefeated, and
that's the mindset he has going into it, he's gonna
be pulling his hair out by week three when he
(12:31):
sees Caleb Williams air mailing a five yard crossing route
or not hitting the seven yard out route that he
drew up, and he's gonna be scrambling back where he's
trying to chuck up a forty five yard past. Luther Burden.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
I was on the same page as you before that
pairing started. That the a type personality that is Ben Johnson.
I don't know how it's gonna mesh with the A
type personality that is Caleb Williams, A types in different ways,
you know. But like I was with you on that,
and then they had a successful year, but again a
successful year with a lot of things that went your
(13:07):
way that there's no way it's gonna happen this year
the way it happened for you last year. So it's
it's an interesting it's an interesting approach by Ben Johnson.
And listen, maybe Bears fans do like that that I
am saying we are gonna score the more, the most points,
We're gonna go undfeed it. You're gonna not gonna do
any of those, right, You're not gonna do any of those.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
Let me tell you any team who's ever said that,
never never did it.
Speaker 4 (13:29):
You, I'll do it. But that's fine. But maybe maybe
Bears fans like that, you know, Bears fans that had
have had not a lot to celebrate in so many years. Right, Yeah,
there's still gonna be There's still gonna be the Bears,
no matter where it was announced today, it doesn't matter
where they're going, there's still going to be the Chicago Bears.
So maybe maybe those fans liked it, but you and
(13:52):
I watching it from an outside perspective, it's just like this,
this didn't seem like the comments of a head coach.
It's it's like some again, an assistant coordinator, offensive coordinator specifically,
those comments can be made, but it's as a head
coach you have to You would like to think that
your head coach has a level head going into the
new season and has dissected everything that happened the last season,
(14:16):
and when he makes comments, it's like, no, I've let's
be realistic on what our season is going to.
Speaker 3 (14:21):
Let's worry about converting on third down, let's worry about
being good in the red zone. Let's worry about getting better.
Like I know, it's coach speak, right, but that's what
you kind of want from your head coach.
Speaker 4 (14:31):
Correct correct if it was, if it was still the
offensive coordator is like, yeah, say.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
Whatever, you watch sure, and let the wide receiver.
Speaker 4 (14:36):
Talk about say exactly.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
Like I don't need the quarterback and the head coach exactly. Well,
maybe we're crazy, maybe we don't get it, you know,
eight seven seven ninety nine out Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six six three sixty nine are the Bears
going to miss the playoffs next season. We say yes.
Rob Parker says no. Calvin Washington, I think agrees with us.
(14:58):

(17:38):
All right, Fowler Fair coming up in about five minutes.
But we opened the show talking about Jade and Daniels
and him standing on business when it comes to the
number five at LSU, I made you look horrible in
the open. I totally destroyed your entire argument that he
was wrong and you don't think he's doing the right thing.
(17:59):
Have you come to your senses now about jayde and
Daniels and his beef with that?
Speaker 4 (18:02):
Was you? No, you cuckoo bird, You cuckoo bird. You
couldn't have been more wrong. And what you said standing
on what business? What is the business? What is he
getting out of this?
Speaker 3 (18:12):
A lot of good airplan from that?
Speaker 4 (18:14):
Let me tell you. Let me tell you what he's
not getting any of that. We are not having positive
conversations about this because, as you said, it's petty, but
I'm fine with it. Okay, So that's what the conversation is.
You're saying, I'm cool with it because I'm petty. Listen,
I'm petty too. I hold grudges, I get all that.
This is just one of those ones that even if
(18:34):
he feels like this, even if he's upset deep down
inside and he's like, I cannot believe they have given
my number, I am going to don't say it out loud, don't.
That's the advice that he should have been.
Speaker 3 (18:46):
Didn't he wrote a letter?
Speaker 4 (18:47):
Yeah no, that's almost worse. The point is, the point
is it was said. He said it to somebody, who
then said it out loud, who then wanted to compare
it to Joe Burrow. All of this to me, it
does nothing good for Jayden and Daniels. It really doesn't.
And uh, he wants this to be handled privately. That's
literally the exact opposite of what's happening, and they're claiming
(19:08):
that he wants the trophy back, Like, what are we doing?
Speaker 3 (19:11):
Did try to handle it privately?
Speaker 4 (19:13):
Uh? Clearly not.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
If I send you a letter a week ago, it
came out a week later. So I'm assuming that somebody
in the LSU department is like, can you believe what
Jaden Daniels is doing right now?
Speaker 4 (19:25):
Uh huh. So to think that this wasn't going to
get out, that's another who again, bad advice.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
It's like, if you want to know, nothing can be
private anymore.
Speaker 4 (19:32):
Nothing can be private no more at all at all.
I mean, you and I can have our private conversations
because we keep it here.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
But like in person, like they would have said, he
would have driven down to the LSU.
Speaker 4 (19:42):
You have no idea how many times I'm texting you
because I want to talk smack on someone and then
I delete it because I don't want it to be
I don't want there to be proof. And I was like,
I'll just say to him in person. There's so many
times today as we were texting, I was I take delete, delete,
de Lee. I'm just gonna send this tim in person.
He does not need to have a copy of me
saying this. So it's just it was never gonna be
(20:02):
kept quiet. It was never gonna be kept private. So
is this really is the juice worth the squeeze? No,
there's nothing.
Speaker 3 (20:11):
For him now in the NFL, of course.
Speaker 4 (20:14):
Not.
Speaker 3 (20:14):
Okay, Now it's a discussion point in training camp when
you should be worried about the upcoming season for him individually,
when you bring up the fact you mentioned Joe Burrow,
because that's the most recent ever knows about. There's only
been two other Heisman trophy winns Now, it's you history
Joe Burrow and this guy Billy Cannon nineteen fifty nine.
Both of those guys have never had their jersey worn
(20:35):
ever again, so there is some precedent. So I understand
why he feels this way because you've already said if
you win the Heisman at LSU, we are gonna no
longer let anyone wear that jersey and instead you give
it to a cornerback because Brian Kelly in an effort
to save his job in Baton Rouge, which he got
(20:57):
fired for. Anyways, this kid, in addition to the whatever
million dollars we're giving you, I'm also going to give
you the number five jersey because we're family here in LSU.
Speaker 4 (21:10):
I love how you keep missing the little detail that
the other two heisman won the national championship.
Speaker 3 (21:17):
I think that that twenty seventeen to one in national
chap There's none of their jerseys are retired.
Speaker 4 (21:22):
Right, But you're tying it to being a heisman.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
Because that's the common thing.
Speaker 4 (21:29):
I and the endo. But the two and the one
are not the same.
Speaker 3 (21:33):
They're kind of the same.
Speaker 4 (21:34):
An A plus is different than an A minus.
Speaker 3 (21:36):
It's still a four point zero.
Speaker 4 (21:37):
No, it's not.
Speaker 3 (21:38):
Yes, it is is all the way through all your grades,
it's still a four point.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
No, it is not.
Speaker 4 (21:45):
That is incorrect information. Can somebody verify that?
Speaker 7 (21:48):
Right?
Speaker 4 (21:48):
Hello, look alive over there, kids, they're not paying a
ten're not paying attention. Yeah, if you get an A minus,
is it still a four point zero?
Speaker 8 (21:55):
No?
Speaker 7 (21:55):
Right?
Speaker 3 (21:56):
Yes, yeah it is.
Speaker 4 (21:57):
It is.
Speaker 5 (21:58):
Yes, it is all is just a base Yeah, there's
no way.
Speaker 4 (22:02):
So how do you have more than a four point.
Speaker 3 (22:03):
Zero cause you get advanced classes where it counts an
extra pump? Oh my gosh, I don't know if it
was right. We just broke Nazi r.
Speaker 4 (22:12):
That makes no sense to me. That makes no sense
to me.
Speaker 3 (22:16):
No, it doesn't.
Speaker 4 (22:16):
I think NA plus gets you more. It doesn't matter,
even if that's wrong, even if if I'm I'm wrong
on that, the comparison is not the same. Also, again,
life is unfair. I'm sorry, Jayden Daniels. Maybe if Joe
Burrow's season happened because the other guy, when did it happen?
Speaker 3 (22:32):
Nineteen fifty nine?
Speaker 4 (22:33):
Okay, great, so let's say Joe Burrow would have done
this in nineteen ninety five, and then it was Jaden Daniels. Maybe,
but the fact that they happened so close to each other,
it's unfair to Jayden Daniels's life is unfair. I'm sorry,
I'm sorry, but no, this is not This is not
helping you in any way, shape or form, not for
your career, not for your character, your image. You were
you didn't need to do this. Even if you were mad,
(22:55):
you should have been told suck it up, it's fine,
don't make this a thing.
Speaker 3 (22:59):
Well, you know who is helping our character and image
and brand, Brianna mirrou at the update disk.
Speaker 4 (23:04):
That's right. Can you tell him that he's wrong? Ron Gi,
you're wrong?
Speaker 8 (23:11):
And also you know I do you have turtles by
any chance. No, why didn't we get straws from Starbucks?
Speaker 3 (23:18):
What do you mean when you brought the drinks? Right,
they gave me a bag and you didn't check.
Speaker 4 (23:23):
To see if there were straws.
Speaker 3 (23:24):
No, why because I don't go to Starbucks. I thought
they put him in the bag for you.
Speaker 4 (23:28):
But Monty, I don't blame him.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
No, what's a turtle that.
Speaker 4 (23:34):
I What does the turtle have to do? Because the
turtle and the straws in the got you got you,
It's all connected. There we go, Okay, I'm sorry, I
got it. You don't get it. There was for a
long time, like I don't know, four or five years ago,
it was this whole conversation of getting rid of straws
because there was a video of a sea turtle or
they pulled and they were like, we gotta have straws anymore. No, listen,
(23:58):
I jumped on that bandwagon and I bought plastic straws
for my like reusable ones. And so now everybody has
a eco typically friendly straw.
Speaker 5 (24:06):
But by the way, just before you go over, you
were right, Monci. If it is an A, it's a
GPA scale of a four point zero, but an A
minus is where three point seven points?
Speaker 4 (24:15):
Really, I'm gonna need jaw to once again stand on
business my business, because I was right. Thank you so much.
I read that to you.
Speaker 8 (24:25):
I thought it was an A was an A and
a plus.
Speaker 5 (24:32):
It says a minus will below four point zero?
Speaker 3 (24:34):
Who are trusting Google? Yeah, like they never been.
Speaker 5 (24:37):
Wrong before Google. I actually did a deep dive.
Speaker 4 (24:40):
Did you like look at a school district.
Speaker 5 (24:41):
Or something or what multiple? I went to Robb's wife.
Oh yeah, robbed your wife's next, She's the winner.
Speaker 4 (24:49):
I love Lauren Mike drops, So my I'm done. That's
where I walk away because that's what I like to
end on a high note. I like to end on
high notes. So I think I'm done here.
Speaker 3 (24:59):
Yeah, I mean, and you and I have like fruit.
Speaker 4 (25:01):
In our drink. We really need a straw. She doesn't
even have that. She could do it better.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
Real did not say anything to me all show. And
the one thing she says is you didn't get me
a straw.
Speaker 4 (25:10):
Well, you you were responsible, but I understand if you're
handed a bag that you're just like, okay, everything's in there. Hi, Robbie,
I said, Hi, Hi, straw. I just had a question.
Speaker 5 (25:25):
That's messed up. She literally started the show by saying,
how this is a dream come true to have both
of you on the show.
Speaker 4 (25:30):
What did you want me to do? Come in there
every every segment and be like, oh my god, great guys, yes, yes,
my gosh, you make our head bigger, make our head bigger.
Speaker 3 (25:39):
You made this happen.
Speaker 8 (25:40):
Oh thank you guys.
Speaker 4 (25:41):
You're so sweet.
Speaker 8 (25:42):
Think yo, great job. Let's do it again. Actually, let's
do this recurring. Oh okay, should I tell Steve like, hey,
you got the day off?
Speaker 4 (25:50):
Yeah you should.
Speaker 8 (25:50):
We'll get him Dodger tickets and then I'll just oh,
that's perfect effects who might get my dream?
Speaker 4 (25:56):
Love it? What Alex you want?
Speaker 5 (25:58):
He was not going to come in and do There's
way sup professional for that. He had a better chance
of people not using straws.
Speaker 8 (26:05):
Y'all just come in on my free time and just
stare at you guys and get some hopcorn.
Speaker 4 (26:08):
Just sit there with Steve di Stiggert.
Speaker 8 (26:12):
I like, yeah, let me just come in yeah actually
yeah no, actually, let me go get another job and
then leave for like a month and then come back
and then just get here in the anchor studio and
just hijack the mic.
Speaker 4 (26:22):
There you go do that. Okay, Yeah, see tomorrow, see tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (26:27):
All right, it is the odd couple with me Rob
g Monty Bilano sitting in for the odd couple. Wanted
to let you know that, Alex, you said in my ear,
there's no ja. There's a good reason for that, because JR.
Just text me totally freegot for God. We spoke the
other day. I'm in the streets, so I think that
means he is not going to be joined.
Speaker 5 (26:44):
I've choosed with Rob Parker.
Speaker 4 (26:45):
I was gonna say, yeah, he's okay, you're kidding me.
Speaker 5 (26:49):
All he is, huh, priorities, living in his best life.
Speaker 4 (26:54):
It's fine. Let's let's talk about or I was gonna
say we could talk about how upset I was about
Andy po bastball conversation. Yeah wait, I got one. I
got one. Andy Pa has I love you. But you
are not allowed to call a challenge anymore. Nope, you
can't do it. I don't care. I don't care. You
cannot do it. This stuff with the ABS challenge. I
(27:14):
have made fun of so many players that have like
called the challenge and they're all like, oh, I'm so right.
They start taking off their gear, pretending they're gonna go
take their walk because it's not a third strike, because
it's so bad, and it's hilarious. When it's my own team,
it bothers me. It's hilarious when it's another team. It
bothers me when it's my team. And Andy pa has Yesterday,
in the first inning, Rob g challenges a third strike
(27:38):
call for no reason. We don't have a man on base.
It's the first inning, it is a scoreless game, and
Andy Baugh has challenge is not a strike, No, Poppy,
it couldn't have been more of a strike. And he
started all like, it's just like this seems more like
an ego thing. I believe he is eleven of twenty five,
not from the plate in his ABS challenge, serious eleven
(28:00):
of twenty five.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
That is on.
Speaker 4 (28:04):
And then there are reports. Jack Harris, who covers the Dodgers,
said that Dave Roberts spoke to the team ahead of
Tuesday's game and mentioned how they needed to be a
little bit more careful and more you know, I have
a reason when they're gonna use the abs chiwer or
where they're gonna use a challenge, And then he still
did it in the first inning, in the first inning.
(28:24):
I don't get it. It's upsetting me. And Andy bos
is having such a great season, so I shouldn't be upset.
He's great. But stop calling a challenge. You know what
I'm saying, don't do it.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
You know what's funny about Andy Paez is I'm not
a baseball fan, like really, like I covered it for
work because I have to because I live in La Biosmosis.
I follow the Dodgers. I have Dodgers gear because of that,
but because I don't watch baseball on a night to
night basis. A couple of years ago, I would see
the box scores or read the stories to talk about
(28:57):
it on the show, and I would see this name
in center field went two for four and robbed a
home run, and I swore that it was Andy Pages. Yeah,
most people, I had no idea. So when it came
down to the playoffs and I have to really watch
it for work, like Andy Andy Pages is not black. No, no,
(29:25):
he's not, and he's like awesome, Like he's better defensively
than the except this season he's better defensively than he
ever was offensive and that's not something you see very often.
Speaker 4 (29:34):
No, No, And then this year, he's just elevating the player.
Speaker 3 (29:37):
Yeah, because now I've been watching this season the.
Speaker 4 (29:39):
Entire he's been our best player. You're right, I agree
with that, and has elevated all parts of his game
except challenging balls and strikes.
Speaker 3 (29:48):
Well, that's harder to do than he looks.
Speaker 4 (29:49):
Then don't do it. I'm not asking you. Don't have
to do it, nobody's telling you to do it, and
why would you do it in the first sinning, aside
from doing it from an ego perspectives.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
Like those NBA players are like after.
Speaker 4 (30:00):
Everything started on that one, don't that to me? If
you do this, it should you know how it's only
coaches can call it. Yes, if a player does it.
If I'm a ref, I'm just giving it to them.
Oh you know the challenge yep. Yeah, it's so annoying
to see everyone do this that I would just change
the rule. If you do this, we're gonna listen to you.
It doesn't have to be a coach, and that way
(30:22):
we won't see this happen thirty seven times a quarter.
Speaker 3 (30:26):
All right, Yes, that's fair. Yes, according to Manci, is
that a tease for working on the weekend show?
Speaker 4 (30:32):
Sometimes it happens. Not always, but sometimes there's According to.
Speaker 3 (30:35):
Amancie, all right, well, I was getting text from JR. Gamble.
He's apologizing for not coming in. It's because he's with
Rob Parker. Well, and Rob wants us to make sure
we're taking phone calls because.
Speaker 9 (30:44):
You know, it's the phone. It's the radio show is
not a podcast. We need to take these phone calls.
I see the lines lit up like a Christmas tree
throughout the entire show. I guess I'll take one now
to appease everybody who's complaining about it in the chat.
And Rob Parker, let's get started with Jeffrey in Tucson. Jeffrey,
(31:05):
you're on the Acoba Fox Sports Reader, Which you guy.
Speaker 7 (31:07):
Jeffrey, Hello, Jeffrey Stemmer, Tucson Toro mascot. In regard to
the Kayli Williams, if he was such a good quarterback,
they would not be in a situation where they always
have to come back with them three or four minutes.
And on my bucket, this is two things to do
Route sixty six and to buy Monci a shirty temple
(31:30):
because I don't do alcohol. Have a great evening, all right.
Speaker 3 (31:34):
I'll take a Shirley Temple with you, and she'll probably
drink enough alcohol for the both.
Speaker 4 (31:39):
They will. It's fine. I'll do it, don't worry. But
I'll also have a Shirley temple.
Speaker 3 (31:42):
Those are really good.
Speaker 4 (31:43):
I like a Shirley Temple. But I don't like a cherry.
Speaker 3 (31:46):
What like?
Speaker 4 (31:47):
I don't like biting into a cherry. I've never liked it.
I don't biting into it.
Speaker 3 (31:53):
I don't.
Speaker 4 (31:54):
Yeah, it comes on Sundays. I love a Sunday. I
love a Sunday. I love a banana split. You know
what I'm saying. I've never liked a cherry. I've never,
but I flavor.
Speaker 3 (32:05):
Pause. Pause, that's a good conversation you guys are having.
Speaker 4 (32:12):
Yeah, No, I can keep going.
Speaker 3 (32:17):
Aren't you like a vegetarian?
Speaker 4 (32:19):
I am a vegetarian.
Speaker 3 (32:20):
So aren't you supposed to like every fruit and vegetable
because you can't have meat.
Speaker 4 (32:24):
I like a lot of fruits and vegetables. It doesn't
mean I have to like everything. My favorite berry is
a strawberry. Like a strawberry, you know what I'm saying.
Even when they're a little chart, I don't mind when
they're sweet. Even better, I love that. I don't like pineapple,
but I like pineapple flavor, like pineapple and tequila. I
can sit on that all day. But biting into a pineapple,
(32:45):
I don't like the texture. I'm big on texture, so
I don't like mushrooms. They're rubbery. You know what I'm saying.
I like play with it. When I haven't, I'm gonna stop.
Speaker 3 (32:55):
The chat is blowing up right now. Gosh, all right,
it is The Odd Couple. One more segment ago. We're
gonna finish strong. It's me Rob g Monteblino sitting in

Speaker 4 (34:47):
You know who thought of that?
Speaker 3 (34:48):
Damn byer Isaac.
Speaker 4 (34:50):
Really early on he said, he's like, oh on AIRV
and B and we were just like, great.
Speaker 10 (35:00):
Love it.
Speaker 4 (35:00):
It's stuck. It's stuck.
Speaker 3 (35:04):
That's really good.
Speaker 4 (35:04):
Yeah, Isaac Longe Crown, thank you so much. Shout out Wow.
Speaker 3 (35:08):
Dan Bayer and I think it was Mike Harmon had
a segment that they did. I don't know, if I'm
pretty sure they don't. They had a Sunday morning show
and it was hot takes and sausage. Okay, And I
told myself, if I ever do a morning show, I
am stealing that from them takes and they'll never know. Yeah,
they'll never pay attention to it. And it's like, I'm
full disclosure. I'm stealing it.
Speaker 2 (35:28):
Go for it.
Speaker 4 (35:29):
Yeah, they're not paying attention.
Speaker 3 (35:31):
On AIRBNBM take that too.
Speaker 4 (35:32):
No, you can't rob g. It doesn't make sense. Why
because there's no b in your name.
Speaker 3 (35:37):
My nieces and nephew call me uncle Bob, Bobby. Yeah,
my mom calls me that, my wife calls me that Bobby.
Speaker 4 (35:44):
They do a Bobby is I don't know. I don't
know if I call you Bobby.
Speaker 3 (35:48):
Well, the reason is because my mom has always wanted
to keep me like the smallest one pop. Sure, And
so if you know my mom at all, I've met her.
Anyone who knows me on that level. It's always been Bobby.
I get that.
Speaker 4 (36:00):
Yeah, my mom because my name is monsterrat, right, and
my mom says, Monsita to keep me little.
Speaker 3 (36:06):
You know, it'll be fifty five years old.
Speaker 4 (36:08):
I'm gonna be mona.
Speaker 5 (36:09):
Both your parents wasted time. You guys aren't growing anymore,
you know what?
Speaker 7 (36:13):
So funny?
Speaker 5 (36:14):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (36:14):
I think jack in Tang gives you the right to
say whatever you want. It doesn't.
Speaker 5 (36:18):
It's America, that's true, ye, Jackson Town.
Speaker 3 (36:22):

Speaker 5 (37:01):

Speaker 10 (37:03):
Probably Probably I'm trashan I'm trash and Rob Parker, right?
And why am I trash and Rob Parker? Because I'm
a mentee of Rob Parker and He's had a lot
of mentee parties. Okay, in Los Angeles, and I'm in
Los Angeles, guys, and no, no, no, no, it's never
strip clubs.
Speaker 5 (37:21):
It's always let's go to cheesecake. Let's go.
Speaker 10 (37:24):
Let me buy you a fourteen dollars cheesecake. Let me
bring you a let me bring you a Jordan branded
Fox Sports Radio hoodie. Where's my strip club?
Speaker 3 (37:34):
Well, Parker, what are we doing?
Speaker 4 (37:35):
You left us for a new job, so you wouldn't
have been able to go to Atlanta.
Speaker 3 (37:38):
You can't come in.
Speaker 4 (37:39):
You're busy, You're tied.
Speaker 5 (37:40):
I am tied up.
Speaker 4 (37:41):
It's like you just got married.
Speaker 3 (37:42):
You're missing the B and NABJ. I'm a little huge.
Speaker 5 (37:47):
Well I'm a little huge. Well it's only skin color
someone else.
Speaker 3 (37:53):
I don't know. Okay, I feel like it's named that
for a reason. I think so NAHJ.
Speaker 5 (37:57):
I think is one I went to nab this year.
That's the casual, it's the one in Vegas. It's the
one for the normals.
Speaker 4 (38:04):
That's that's got to be.
Speaker 11 (38:07):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (38:08):

Speaker 4 (38:12):
But you were never going to go. You were never
going to go.
Speaker 5 (38:14):
If I was invited, I have cousins in Helena.
Speaker 4 (38:16):
Okay, but you were gone.
Speaker 10 (38:17):
Actually you would have had a grand time, fully exposed
mentee night in on Roscoe in venture.
Speaker 4 (38:24):
Let's do it, let's go right.
Speaker 3 (38:27):

Speaker 4 (38:39):
Wonderful A plus.
Speaker 5 (38:42):
