that tire buying should be. And right here, Martin VJ
is the way that SportsTalk radio should be.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
That's right. I gotta warm it up. I gotta gotta
lean into it. Yeah, lean again, Say what's your chess?
Say what your sportstock radio should be? Yeah, there you go,
say what's your chess.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
But we'll talk about little after suffering his first concussion
of this season, third of the last two, is now
back in the lineup.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
But he what sat out what was it?

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Eight?

Speaker 3 (01:00):
No, no, six weeks with this concussion.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Yeah, there is clear concussion protocol and we'll be shooting
up and starting for the Miami Dolphins as they play
host of the Arizona Cardinals. Dolphins four point favorites and
climbing in this game. They've been the favorite since BJ.
This is your favorite team and your self proclaimed favorite quarterback.
I'm actually asked for one moment I have to give you.
I have to give you some props here because when

(01:25):
Sean King said nobody has two as a top fifteen quarterback,
I let them off.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
You looked at me. You all didn't see it in here.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
But VJ, who is a light skinned black man, turned
purple instead of red high pass right rad will turn
the purple, took his headphones off, Smoke came out of
his ears.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
I'm shocked and didn't come over the air. Yeah. Hey, hey,
but you know what, And that's because I'm not worried
about that type of stuff. There's people that's gonna have
that type of stuff to say. But when my man
come back, all I need is for Mary to drop
this for me. And I'm good money man. All I
gotta do is here it is and we are there
we go, there we go. Ooh sins back oo, sins

(02:06):
back ooh since back oo sins back. And that's why
I don't worry about stuff like that. I saw you
looked at me when he said that foolishness that he's
a bottom tier NFL quarterback. You show me another office
that you take the quarterback off the field. Have y'all
been watching the Dolphins? I very painfully have been watching
the Miami Dolphins. It looks hor rah Bo. This gentleman

(02:31):
to my right, who I've now been doing radio with
for the last three years of our own show and
even before that, and other affiliates and do it a
lot of other stuff that y'all don't even know about,
have always bumped has about the backup quarterback position. I
keep telling people, if you were that good, you wouldn't
be a backup because you can't tell me. You can't
tell me there's thirty two good starting quarterbacks. So if

(02:53):
you're back up now, sorry, man, I'm gonna you suck.
You're not good. You're back up in the league where
there's now thirty two good How many good quarterbacks in
the league? You think twenty right about what twenty twenty
two good quarterbacks? Martin real talk? Sure, Okay, so then
there's ten guys that aren't even good. You can't you
can't break them. When we signed Huntley, I sat here

(03:16):
and told this, I'm not getting hyped off that we
held them out for a week. If you're gonna sign
somebody off another team's practice squad, bro, you gotta come
in and play now. We have time for you to
get the speed. Most playbooks not are the same, but
I mean run rights, run right, guys, run run left.
You ain't gotta worry about the blocking. The days that
they just turn in hand the football. Oh okay, this
is where we want you to throw the football, like,

(03:38):
let's do this. Let's do that. They have not been
able to do that to a Tagabyelaw, whether he's a systemer, whatever,
people want to try to put a tag on guys,
fine him off the field. This offense looks putred quick
sidebar about the defensive side of the ball, Anthony, we
were doing a very good job. Ask him, who's the
fourth ranked defense in the NFL right now? To Miami Dolphins.

(04:00):
What's the number one pass defense in the NFL? Right now?
If you could just get this office turning around that's
in the bottom half of the NFL, we can start
to move some things, Martin, I'll throw this to you
and ask you this question. Eight and three is what
he needs to go to get to the playoffs they
need there's no chance they got to go eight and three,
So so no chance. I mean, I didn't think they
were making the playoffs to start. To you, sure then

(04:21):
you didn't have them making the playoffs. And I'm not
even gonna try to incorporate the fact that they haven't
had their starting quarterback. I mean, I think they're going
eight and three. They have to go. A seven to
four is not gonna do it. They've got to get
to eight and three because nine wins is not gonna
get you in the playoffs in the AFC, I don't think.
And if it does, and it's because of a tie breaker,

(04:42):
it's not just gonna be oh, you're nine and seven,
you're in as well, you're nine and seven, But what's
your divisional record, what's your conference record? What's your record? Again,
we got to go through all the time breakers. If
you're going to try to incorporate a team in the
playoffs in AFC, A nine one is they got to
get to ten wins. I like eight and three. You
mark my words. This offense is going to go back
to being a hunting guys. Say what you want to

(05:02):
say about the Dolphins last year and how things fall
toed apart, offensive line falling apart, and them losing a
bunch of weapons. They were still the number one offense
in the NFL. They had the number one passing offense
in the NFL and the number three rushing offense in
the NFL. So this offense can't hum and turn it around.
But they've got to go eight and three. Last question
I got for you, Martin. Do they get a mulligan

(05:24):
this year some way, somehow because Tua has missed so
much time? Absolutely not, okay, just ask him, Just ask him.
So if they finished, say five hundred and finished five, well,
it can't finish five hundred seventeen games. Oh, let's say
what I get it? Nine eight nine? You're firing? Are you?
Are you saying? Hey, let's know we were paying too
many guys right now? No, I don't think you're there. Okay,

(05:45):
you think it, okay, but I just think you know, Molly,
it counts against them.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
You can't like you knew this was a possibility. You're right,
you knew this was a possibility. You set up here
A wasted a lot of oxygen over whether our tour
was injury prone, right, you know.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
What I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
I was like, I'm not saying he's about to miss
a game because it's risk hurt or because he's got
a bad knee. But if he ends up missing a game,
it's gonna be a whole stretch a game, you know,
due to the nature of the way that he is.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
And it wasn't about him, I gotta defend myself. Wasn't
about him being injury proune. I just said, I want
to make sure that we made the same argument for
other quarterbacks that have been getting hurt. But the concussion thing. Listen,
I see the print here, very very cute, very cute, Patrick,
please slide listen. The one thing I will say that
goes against my guys this and this is just being real.

(06:34):
He's got to be smarter, and he's got to take
care of himself, and he's got to be available for
a scene. You don't have anything to prove you're not
running anybody over. Okay, so don't try that bleep again.
All right, oos, all right, you hear me talking. I
ride with you, dog I love you man, you quarterback,
my squad. I mess with you hard, but you listen.
You gotta do this right now. You can't be the

(06:54):
guy that think you got to prove, so you don't
have nothing to prove. It's okay to slide, get your
down so you don't take unnecessary hits. This is why
they have the office to have for you, where we're
releasing a ball quickly getting out because the offensive line
has been so bad for the last year and a
half to two years. Even before you got there, the
offensive line was trash. But now that you we got you,
we got to make sure you are in play. I

(07:15):
think he comes back. I think he's rusty to start
the game. I think he feels himself out. I'll be
watching it from so far. I'm actually covering the Chargers
of Saints on Sunday, so i'll be in sofar. I'm
leaving my house at eight thirty in the morning to
get to the stadium so i can set up in
the press box and then watch this full game on
my all my iPad while I'm waiting for a one
to fifteen kickoff, for a one twenty five kickoff, whatever

(07:35):
time the Charger in the Saints kickoff, so I will
be watching this game. I think Martin starts off slowly
because he's rusty. But you see the excitement, bro, You've
been seeing. It's on Twitter, everybody seeing what Tyreek is saying,
what Wadall was saying, what Anthony Weaver saying with the
defensive players saying, he is the guy, he is the leader,
he is the man, he is oos he leads this tribe. Man,
I got it. That's what he needs to come back

(07:56):
and do. I got no problem with that. Yeah, I
got I'm a three to fit it. Let's put it
bad on it. Let's put something on. Let's put it
on wax. Bro, I don't think that tour finishes the year. Wow,
we got to put a Burgerard two leader.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
I'm not trying to wish Ill on the I'm not.
I'm not saying that that well, I'm just all. I
just me and you and you know. However, many other
people are listening over million thousand, ahilliate, it's right million.
I want to make sure why I want to put
it on wax, Like, I'm not wishing Ill.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
I don't think but you just think he takes another hit.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
Let's say to what was concussion was extended like his
concussion break was extended for one more game.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
Who would start for the Dolphins today? My lord? You
know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
If if it was if it was coming back next
week you instead of this week, who would be the
Dolphins starting quarterback?

Speaker 3 (08:40):
Get on the plane in l a U. That's my point.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
Because it's not Skyler Thompson who was knocked out of
the first game he started with a rib injury.

Speaker 4 (08:47):
About Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
Well, I know it's not Tyler Homeley because Tyler only
didn't even practice the last two days because he's got
a shoulder injury. Literally going to be me, That's what
I'm saying. Guys, I understand that too is injury. Why
it was very scary and avoidable had he not had
had he slid, had he not absorbed that contact with
Tamarrow Hamlin. You know, I get it, But.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
This Dolphins offensive line has already had two quarterbacks you had.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
Knocked out in the pocket, and these guys are these
guys are scared to throw the ball. I'm sorry, I
got I'm watching the game. That's fine, I hear it.
I got you bet against the dolphinsis but every week
six he trust me. I am aware.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Yeah, I'm just saying I'm not saying that the back.
I am aware of how this thing has been going.
But the thing is whether he too has got the
quickest time to throw in the league tomorrow or not.
He's gonna take two sacks just because the Dolphins offensive
line can't blot.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Right, I'm not there, That's what That's why I was
when you signed the contract.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
You have him behind this patchwork offensive line. He's not
gonna make it through the year, point blank period. If
you're gonna put all you're gonna put sixty whatever million
into a tongue about Lowell, you gotta act like it.

Speaker 3 (09:56):
Well, let me ask you this, how do you get
to seventeen? The line was bad last year. Dad, guys
knocked out last year and he got through seventeen games.
So I don't think it's the line. Listen, those guys
that knocked out are holding the ball, scared to throw
the ball. Eventually, Yes, you are gonna get knocked out.
Tua is going to be imprinted and to this offense.
Sunday they will get back to getting the ball out
of his hands. It might take two secs if things

(10:17):
covering it, he just goes down and you go put
a hand on counts as a sack. Fine, But as
far as the line giving it up and just getting
him blasted back there, I don't see that coming. It
didn't happen to him last year because they get the
ball out of his hand. Quack. And also to a
smart enough to throw the ball away. This concussion that
he went through and it was stupid and I said
it when it happened, it felt like it was toa
trying to prove no, I'm back. I could be I

(10:39):
could be a tough quarterback. But we don't need that
out of view. It's okay if you feel that way, fine,
but we don't need that from you, okay. So just
do what's your favorite live with your famous line. You
love for quarterbacks. You love quarter You love quarterbacks that
do what do what they told, do what you're told.
Just follow it the rect Just follow it. That's all
you gotta do. You don't have to be Pat Mahomes.

(10:59):
You don't have to be John Al but you don't
have to be Tom Brady. You don't have to be
paid Manny. By the way, quick sidebar. Do you know
I love this guy as an actor and his commercials
or what. I honestly haven't seen. Oh. I think the
new painting is a wow because I'm painting Manning and
she's like, yeah, Payton.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
No.

Speaker 4 (11:19):
Personally, I think Eli is a lot funnier. I thought
that Eli is funny. I think Eli is funnier because
he's such a weird looking dude and like, you know,
he's weird ash but he knows he is. And then
the Kenny Powers thing, I thought that was hilarious.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
Yeah, that that was pretty good. But with oos Man,
like I said, I'm I think he's gonna be just fine.
You gotta be smarter from here. I watched all the
press conferences as much as I could to get to
get a vibe, to get a fill from it, and
he and he said it, I gotta be available for
my team. I need to play smarter. I think he
will do so. I think he finished the year. They're
gonna go eight and three. They'll make the playoffs and
we'll see what happens from there. No, I just three.

(11:56):
And if they do, they can't they have to be
a wild card. No, we may not have to walk
down Buffalo. Now, hold up. Now here's the thing. It's
not so much as walking down Buffalo. Buffalo could come
back to the pack. We don't necessarily have to walk
Buffalo down. Dolphins are currently below the pack. If Buffalo
could come back, they're two and they're two and a half,

(12:16):
they're two and a half a half. We have Arizona,
then we have Buffalo in the re in the rematch
up there the following week. Then we have the Rams.
I'll be at that game covering that game. That is
a Monday night game. Then we have the the the
I'm sorry, the Raiders, the Patriots at Green Bay's gonna
be a tech game, the bum aass Jets, Houston, San
fran We don't know what Sana Frean's gonna look like. Cleveland.
Cleveland sold it off, the Bumbash just to finish it off. Listen.

(12:37):
Even even the back end of this schedule is very winnable,
especially when you're carrying the number three or four rate
defense in the Leagueage defense travels and the running game
will be better. We couldn't run the football because no
one was threatened by the pass. When you can't throw
the football, you can't run the football. Because they'll just
put eight and nine men in the box and where
you're gonna go from there. It's just looked. It's looked,

(12:59):
pu Bro, it's going to look much different with oos
back in the pocket. I expect that it is looked
much hope he's able to stay up right. Oh say
also real quick, bar, because you know we always do.
We start to like each other, so now we give
each other our props when we pick stuff. You called
it on Deshaun Watson and Cleveland this year. Bro, what's
that you call you? You said this was going to
be you remember remember the back and forth we had

(13:21):
about that about a month and a half, like in
the summer's letting something. We're doing all our Yeah, you
know that one man, this is this is bad. Him
going down with that Achilles. Now, like, could his career
be over Marion very well? Could have been the last
game we played. It's not.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
I mean, because let's talk about a fall from He
lost his athleticism that he had in Houston.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
It's gone. It was gone.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
I mean, yeah, twenty percent of it left. He just
snapped at Achilles.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
It's yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
And not to mention it's not like he was exactly
lighting the world on fire. No as the Browns quarterback.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
No, and they should be world, they should be wholetel
sellers Man, get Garrett out of it. See what you
can probably get for Chubb. You already moved on from cool.
I would and djoku the t I mean start selling everybody.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
Coming up next, dive into World Series Game one an
Garrett Cole still on the mound looking to get the
last out of the bottom of the fourth inning, and
he likely will right here. Look, we're about halfway through one,
hey man, about halfway through Game one. No score thus
far Cole verse Flairty, both of them been throwing well,
only two hits for the Yankees, one for the Dodgers

(14:28):
three total. Coming up next, a World Series question that
needs answering. Martin Wis's VJ Husky and for Rob Parker
and Calvin Washington on the Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in

Speaker 2 (14:51):
We are broadcasting live from the Tireck dot Com studios.
Martin Wis's VJ Husky filling in for Rob Parker and
covin Washington.

Speaker 3 (14:59):
On the odd couple.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
Here on Fox Sports Radio, there are things to Rapid Radios.
They are the national official communication device of Fox Sports Radio.
Rapid radios are the instant push to talk walkie talkies.
They offer national LTE coverage, no subscription or monthly fees.
Business owners can keep in touch with up to two
hundred staff at one time. Good for the owners, it's
got to stick for the staff. We go to rapid
radios dot com. Now we're up to sixty percent off

(15:22):
for free shipping. I think about it. I mean think
about it. You're saying you're sitting there in the back
trying to duck off, and I do your work, and
all of a sudden you're wrapping radios people right, Rappid Radio,
says baby Mary Mac report back to the office.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
Place copy right. I won't say what network it is,
but I used to be in a network, and I
used to be around a network where they had walkie talkies,
same type of thing. And I'd be at the grocery
store and see somebody want that's supposed to be at work, Like,
what are you doing? If they need me, they'll hit
me and the place was so big that you could say,
you're yeah, I'm in Building J thirty five, which is

(15:59):
a cross. So it's gonna take you a minute to
get to wherever they need you to get to. So
I've seen those radio things work. That's fun. And I've
seen those radio things were in that in that man
or Kim Possible said, call me, text me, was it?
Call me? You know what? Never mind I fail, I fail,
I mean hashtag old. You don't know our you know

(16:21):
that's possible finger all right, Kim Possible the cartoon, Right, yeah, okay, right,
come on, people care about sports World Series tired now
nothing nothing.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
Jack Flarity just got out seventy two pitches in the
fifth so far for Jack Flery. Surprising for me. No,
you know, actually you called it man.

Speaker 3 (16:40):
Both these guys settled in after they both gave up
some power, you know, some gave up some some strikes earlier,
gave up some contact early. Both have settled in three
total hits like this is a picture's duel is definitely
number one. Yeah, you got but nothing that only only
Freddy Freeman's triple but by Martin's baseball knowledge. No, it
was with the air. Yeah, okay, no days right, the

(17:01):
air double with it double with an air. That's the
only thing we've seen that's even been close to threatening here.
I think he listen. It's game one, I know, but
I ride my I ride my horse, I ride, I
ride the arm. Man. If these guys are both going,
somebody else is gonna have to make a move for
me to make a move. I'm sticking with Garrett Cole,

(17:21):
all right. If I'm the Dodgers, I'm sticking with my guy,
like I'm sticking with what's got me here. He's only
giving up two hits. Garrett Cole's only giving up one.
Both of these guys need to ride out what we're
in the fifth right now, right, if I'm not mistaken,
both of these guys need to ride up the top
of the six. I say, you picked them through the
six and if it's still zero zero two hits, the
one hit in an air, I bring them both. I

(17:41):
try them both out to the bump and the seventh.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
I'm gonna keep trying my guy milk Flarity as much
as they can as this. I'm not saying that you shouldn't,
but the DoD this has found money a little bit
with clarity still going and the Dodger starters to average
three and a half innings start so far. But who
needs this Merle's World series more to cement their legacy?

(18:04):
Show Hal Tani or Aaron Judge, I believe it's show Heletani.
I think it's so Tani.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
I think it's I think Aaron Judges legacy is almost
pretty much okay. I don't don't. I don't find it
in jeopardy. I don't look at Aaron Judge and think
that he doesn't have it. Listen, he plays for the Yankees, okay,
and it's the only team he's played for it. Shoe
didn't play for the Angels, right, so he played there
and even though he was great there and that they
weren't good. And I know baseball is a lot of
moving parts, like it's just like football at the quarterback positions,

(18:35):
not basketball. We can't just get a ball to Kobe
or get a ball to Jordan and say go get
it for me. Right, can't get the ball to kd
and just say go get it for me. Baseball is
a lot different much like football, also like hockey too,
But I think it's on show, hey, because of the
price tag. The attention, and they've they've kicked us all
out of the breast box there. It's it's all, you know.
It's a lot of a lot of international media attention.

(18:58):
He pitches, he hits, he does. This is people consider
the best player in baseball. They might be the best
pitcher in baseball. It is you've gotta go get a
ring being that good. Plus whose team is more loaded?
I think the Dodgers team is more loaded. So you
got all this talent, and you have La and you
have the money in the back end and everything, and
you can't get it done. I don't think that it

(19:20):
will damage Judge if they lose this. If the Dodgers lose,
you're not gonna question the old tiny deal, but you're
gonna go, Okay, what's up with Dave Roberts, Like, what's
going if the yanggas uses. I don't think they're firing Boone.
I think if they lose. I think if the Dodgers lose,
they could be firing Dave Robs.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
They fired Dave Roberts after the managing job he has
done this postseason. That would be astronomically stupid.

Speaker 3 (19:42):
Well, we've seen Austin Longkan astronomically stupid things done plenty
of times in sports, namely firing coaches and managers. I
could see it, absolutely can see it. All this talent
all these years, been a masterclass, and we.

Speaker 2 (19:57):
Gave you soh Hey, they don't have any starting pitching.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
They are in the World Series. I got you. You don't.
You got you luck into that, No, you don't. But
at the end of the day, the point that he's
at right now, what what is it, nine out of
the last ten or eleven ls? Right? Okay, he's back
to the World Series for the third time. Think about that,
he's back for the third time. They got the COVID
and then they have the one that they lost in
Game seven at home. This is his third time there.

(20:23):
You got to catch this in and right now, Garrett
Cole is mowing down Dodger batters as he just strikes
out another one.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
Well, that's the second that's the second strike, first second strike.
I'm sorry, you're good to me, it's judge. To me,
it's judge old. Tony's got a ten year deal. He'll
be a Dodger forever. I'm not saying that it's not
imperative to win a title on either side of things.
But we talked about it with Brandon Cuddy works for
the athletic Yankees greatness. And I actually misspoke when I

(20:53):
asked the question. I said, does Aaron Judges toot cement
himself as a Yankee? Obviously not. I meant to say
as a Yankee?

Speaker 3 (21:00):
Great? Oh by Aaron.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Think about all the great things he's done as a
as a New York Yankee, winning a World Series isn't
one of them. He's gotta get that done, in my opinion,
to be cemented in one of the all time great
New York Yankees, a team that has more world more championships.
In a little bit, we just had a development in
the baseball game, and for that I will kick it

(21:24):
over to Isaac Loancron to give us the latest on
the World Series.

Speaker 3 (21:27):
Lay everything out what Isaac on this.

Speaker 5 (21:31):
Perfect timing because Key k Hernandez of the Dodgers just
tripled into the right field corner with Game one of
the World Series scoreless between the Dodgers and Yankees, with
one out in the bottom of the fifth inning. Before
hernandez Is triple moments ago, Yankee starter Garrett Cole had
retired eleven Dodgers in a row, including a strikeout of
show Hey Otani. So no score. Bottom of the fifth inning,

(21:55):
one out, Key k Hernandez of the Dodgers at third,
and Will Smith, who struck on the second inning, at
the plate with account of zero to one. Both Dodger
hits have been triples. Freddie Freeman trippled down the left
field line with two outs on the bottle of the
first against colebo was stranded there. Yankees left runners at
second base in each of the first two winnings, both
starters pretty much locked in. Since then, we mentioned Cole

(22:17):
had retired eleven in a row, while Dodgers starting pitcher
Jack Flaherty has retired eight of the last nine Yankees
he's faced and has struck out five in five innings.
So again no score. Dodgers and Yankees, bottom of the
fifth Game one of the World Series. But Key k
Hernandez a third, Will Smith at the plate, he lefts
a fly ball to right field. Juan Soto makes the catch,

(22:39):
Hernandez tags up from third. The throat of the plate
is not in time, and Key k Hernandez has scored
the first run of the World Series on a sacrifice
fly RBI by the Dodgers Will Smith. In the NBA
right now, the New York Knicks have a ninety five
to sixty four lead over the Indiana Pacers after three,
led by twenty one points by Michael Bridges. Jalen Brunton

(23:00):
has twenty, Karl Anthony Towns has eighteen points and thirteen rebounds,
and the Toronto Raptors up ninety eight to seventy six
seventy nine rather over the Philadelphia seventy six ers with
seven sixteen left to play in the fourth quarter, and
again in Game one of the World Series, the Los
Angeles Dodgers have just taken a one nothing lead over
the New York Yankees in the bottom of the fifth

(23:20):
fell us back to.

Speaker 2 (23:21):
You, how do you like Juan Soto double hopping it
into the home play from left fild.

Speaker 5 (23:26):
Yeah, memories of Barry Bonds and Francisco Cabrera back in
the day with Sid Bream, I should say, back in.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
The day, oh, man, because what I saw I pick
up the ball, I was like, Oh, he's gone, he's
gonna He's out of there.

Speaker 3 (23:38):
And yeah, the ball took you know, that ball wasn't
it wasn't even hit deep that was show that was
shallow right that one delivered the home play man. He
needed Uber eats man to get that one. There goodness crazious.
But there we are, first run for the for the
die for the Doyers. The Doyers are up on the Yankee.
So this has been a great game, won man. Gavin

(23:58):
Lux coming up the back, Garrett col standing there. They
got Juan Soto cam on right now, like, what are
you gonna do?

Speaker 2 (24:04):
I have a feeling, you know, spoiler alert, he's he's
not done yet today.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
Oh no, no, no, no, no, you get Garrett stays in it.
No no, no, I'll talk about wat Oh no, no, no
no no, he's not done either with someone. There's a
there's a big hit coming. These pitchers have been holding
it down. I just think, I think when you get
to these bullpens is when one of these batters are
going to take advantage of a bad pitch.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
So moving from one LA team to another, the Los
Angeles Chargers you kind of hinted at this second ago,
but they are right now three and three, and if
the playoffs starting today would currently be the eight seed. Unfortunately,
that means they'd be going home after playing seventeen vj

(24:44):
They obviously have the Saints loading coming up next. But
the Chargers, especially on the offensive side of the ball,
have not been able to kind of click in the
way that that some people expected. When you know, when
when Jim Harbwall came all finally off coach to unlock
Justin Herbert, Well, that quite hasn't quite happened yet. They've looked,

(25:05):
they've looked demonstrably better than they did under Brendon Staley,
but still not quite to me at least AFC contenders.
Where do you fall on the Chargers? Do you still
expect them to make the playoffs after this five hundred
start through seven weeks?

Speaker 3 (25:21):
Yes? I do. They should have won Monday, and I
know they didn't, but I thought they they had the
game in their hand. Kyler Murray is just a special talent.
But then also you get some penalties that give first
downs on that last drive and set up for that
for the go ahead, for the go ahead field goal
to win that football game. But yes, I still believe
in him, and that's because this is what Jimmy Burgers does.
They may not, you know, be blowing the scoreboard up,

(25:43):
but what they are, they're gonna do is They're gonna
beat you up on both lines of scrimmage. They're going
to be strong at the point of attack. This is
what they do. They're going to run the football. I
told Martin do a commercial break. They're making JK. Dobbins
look like an NFL running back. Okay, and tight end
after tight end after tight end. I'm not even gonnaut
like I knew who that guy was. The other night,
I really had to give rewind a few players and say,

(26:03):
who the hell does he keep throwing the ball to?
Who's just making catch up? Then the guy took his
helmet off. He looked forty five. His brother looks old
like it's but it's hardball. It's what he does. And
that listen, it's his first year. Think about guy, it's
his first six games coaching this team. They're going to
turn this thing up a little bit. And I'm very
interesting to see this game. I'm glad I'm gonna be

(26:24):
there so far covering it on Sunday because you do
have a talented team and the Saints coming in. Not
sure if Derek car is gonna be ready to go.
If not. As Spencer Rattler, that defense has also been
playing monstrous this year. They're not getting blown off the field,
They're not getting just moved up and down on the
field against their own will, especially at the point of attack.
So I expect them to win. It's a home game.
They could be foreign too, going in this game looking

(26:45):
at a five and two start, but I think that
they'll be fine. The offense does have to pick it up.
But once again, you gotta get rid of some guys
to start the year because you gotta free up money.
You gotta let some older guys going. That's what they did.
But still Khalil mac Derwin, James Boss hurt again. He
was in streak close on Monday night. Surprise, surprise, the
bols of brothers hurt in the NFL. But I do
look at this schedule coming up. Think about it. They

(27:06):
got the Saints at home that dub. They got Cleveland
dub they got Tennessee coming in dub, they got Cincinnati
coming in. Toss up up. It's a tass up game.
It's a tass up game because once again they're going
to be physical at the point of attack. I'll tell
you this, I guarantee the Bengals won't come in here
and walks up and down the field on them. I
guarantee you that's not gonna happen. But then you got Baltimore.

(27:27):
I think Baltimore will come in here and give them
an l at Atlanta, and then of course k C,
which is a game they led most of and then
once again, Casey's defense keeps the game close enough for
Mahomie to do Mahomie things and you end up losing
that close football game. I still think they're a playoff team.
I still like nine or ten wins with this team.
I don't see why they can't do it. And they'll
start to get some other guys back that's kind of

(27:49):
deemed up and banged up also, And the longer this
year goes, I think it's the more this team is
going to wear on their opponents, and the tougher and
stronger they'll get coming down the stretch, we'll see. I
lean the other way. I think right now they are.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
Out of the playoffs, and partly because I just don't
I just don't believe in their ability to score points
when they need it. Like I also don't believe the
problem is though I also don't believe in the Broncos
ability to score points, or you know some of the
other teams who are down here, Like I the problem is,
I think that these teams, some of these teams are

(28:24):
so good, right like you look at the Steelers right now,
and there I should say we're so good to start
the year. You look at the Steelers five and two,
right the Colts. Colts have a better record than the
Broncos have a better record than them. Chargers are starting
behind one win behind all those teams. If you just
started it right here right now, that's gonna be a
lot of distance to make up. The good thing for them,
at least they have a game against the Broncos that

(28:47):
they will have to play. They still have to settle that.
That will impact that.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
But what if it went out there and slap them
around though I'm saying they have what well, yeah, yeah,
they'll play them again, have a better record right now,
they're in the playoffs, so they have a chance to
settle that again.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
But also you no concern of Cincinnati coming up. So
you said at Miami's about to go eight and three
and make the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (29:07):
I do think Miami's going eight and three and made
the playoffs. But this was Both of these teams were
playoff teams to me at the beginning the year. So
I'm not gonna change it now because of the way
things are gone. The one thing I do love about
this this league, Martin, it's a long season and we
got to week. You and I sit here and and
other people man, Guys that we know, guys that we
work with, and guys that we listen to and watch
whatever we all think. One of my favorite sayings about
the NFL season at this point, we all think we

(29:28):
have it figured out until we realize every Sunday we don't.
We do. We think we know what's gonna happen. We
think we got all figured out because we saw this
and we see this going. There's really only one or
two real constants in the NFL right now, and that's
the Browns. Are the worst team in the league, along
the Patriots and the Chiefs. Certain defeated. Everything else is
a coin flip from Sunday to Sunday. You just have

(29:50):
to get on the field. It's like look at the Rams.
You get two games in a four or five day
span that normally doesn't vote well for a team, but
you get the Raiders that you take care of business,
right and division not a division gamescuse me, but in
a game that you need a team that you should be,
you take care of that. Do you get, honestly, you
get a hot Minnesota team that comes in last night
who's only got one loss on a last second game

(30:12):
against a team that people love in NFC, and that's
the Detroit Lions, right but you put up third, you
get that dub you beat them by ten, You control
the game from the middle of the second quarter all
the way through. You take the best receiver in football
and you take them out of the game plan. And
we just we we don't know from week to week.
We can look at the schedule. We don't know who's
gonna be starting, who's gonna be hurt, who's gonna be

(30:32):
I just think that physicality travels, running game travels, defense travels.
That stuff travels. And right now I was trying to
look up where they're ranked in defense right now, as
far as the defense is concerned, as far as you
know where they're where they are, as far as yards
per game and the things that nature. Like I said,
I know people are now blowing top ten there we
go right there. So number eight in the league in defense.
So he's got the middle of the road offense right now.

(30:54):
But that defense, that charge of defense is a top
ten defense that they're gonna show up every Sunday, and
being at home with the Saints coming in, Yeah, you
got Kamara And did I see a lave's out Sunday?
That is a lave? Is he did he clear? I
think he cleared ccussion protocol, But I'm not sure if
they're still gonna play expected to return. I expect the sturt. Okay,
so you do get a love back on Taysom Hill
off the the ccussion of Taysom Hill. I think it's

(31:16):
gonna be a dog fight. Unspoken yet whether Taysom Hill
will be playing tight end or quarterback. Yeah, it's gonna
be a dog fight. It's gonna be a fistfight type
of game. I expect a very physical game, but on
the road for the Saints to come in, especially if
Spencer Ratler is the quarterback. He's hardball. Is gonna have
something cooked up for him that he hasn't seen before. Defensively,
they'll run the football, they'll hit the tight ends. I

(31:39):
think they'll get this dubbing and move on to four
and three. You're saying that four and three right now
with some of these other teams we thought were gonna
be better right in the AFC, you're you're, you're sitting
pretty good, Aaron Judge.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
Right now to two count one on the one. Uh,
let's see Jack Flairty with the pitch. Okay, that's the ball.

Speaker 3 (31:55):
I'm shitting what an eighty with an eighty mile an
hour sinker? This foll playoffs have been exceptional every year
the last four or five years, the baseball playoffs have
been since you and I've had this show together, we
get the best time of the year. We get Saturdays
in our time slot. We've watched hockey playoff, hockey playoff,
basketball playoff, football, World Series playoff baseball Like this time slot,

(32:18):
man is just beautiful. We get to see some real
good stuff. Man. Aaron Judge is now struck out in
sixteen of his last thirty four at bats in the postseason.
That is, he's a home run hitter. So we all
know that by now. You know, getting on base not bad.
He's a home run hitter.

Speaker 2 (32:36):
Getting on base in fact good. Yeah, that's my take.
Getting on base coming up next, Look Flarity is dealing
right now. Man Flarity's dealing for the Dodgers right now.
The rich, somehow, some way continue to get richer in
the NFL.

Speaker 3 (32:54):
What are my man saying? Breaking bad? They can't get
getting away with this? But will it matter? We'll get come.
We'll get to that coming. Next to Martin wiit's VJ.

Speaker 2 (33:02):
Husky And for Rob Parker covin Washington on the A
couple on Fox Sports Radio.

the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio

Speaker 3 (33:20):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
Freddy Freeman folded his arms and watched as the ball
flew out of savez Ravine after Jack Flair de laid
one and Giancarlos Danton took care of it all right,
I mean now two to one Yankees, top of the
sixth inning. Doctors make a pitching change. Anthony band out
there and I was on his fifth pitch. We'll keep

(33:41):
you updated again. Anthony Rizzo up to the play. Oh
one count, one out so far Jash Chisholm on first base.
This baseball game has uh there had been uh concerning
developments if you're a Dodgers.

Speaker 3 (33:55):
Fan, turning developments, uh no, it's only two to one,
two to one, top of the six. They're fine, they're okay.
But I I would think, uh, scoring position just a
stolen base now by Banda. So I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
There's a picture of my bad Chisholm. So. Uh no,

(34:16):
it's two, it's two to one. It's right there still
for the Dodgers. But this is what I talked about
with the Yankees. That lineup, they have so much. Someone's
gonna get hot, and someone's gonna put the ball over
the wall eventually. And if you got a couple of
guys on base, it's not just one run. It's a
run or two. And that's what they get. It's one nothing.
Dodgers get the triple. Sodo throws in a lollipop, as

(34:40):
Mark as Martin called it, throws a lollipop in slides
in one nothing. Everybody's feeling good. LA bars are blowing
up right now. All the cheesecake factories and and Buffalo
Wiawei's are going crazy in the valley. And then Juan
Carlos Stanton, my friend, somebody tried to say his name
is Mike. His name is not Mike. Mana, you said Mike.

(35:01):
You say it right, man, say said it from down
the street. So it's like whatever, yeah, down the street.
We're in the valley. How many Latinos and spans No,
I liveing in Tino. Let me tell you something that
I mean that there's not a spin that that's not
that that's qualifier you think it is? Yeah, exactly at
all I live in in Cino. Okay, I know how
many of my Latino in the span of brothers and

(35:22):
sistans are walking.

Speaker 4 (35:23):
Around ran the city Panoramas.

Speaker 3 (35:26):
Look, man, listen, don't be don't don't get your feelings
because you was all high. Y'all was up one nothing.
Now your squad is down. Come on, be a man. Now.
I'm taking this still. I'm telling you the games. Now,
it's the sixth in it you're one swing away from
tying or taking the lead. It's a two to one game.
That's why I'm telling Martin, there's I don't think there's
anything to be worried about right now. It happens this,
This is what there's great players in this the World series. Man,

(35:47):
there they're fine. Martin. I feel like you think this
is this is over.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
I thought the Yankees are gonna win Game one from
the start of Okay, all right, well I told you
I didn't think Dodgors were getting both. There's gonna be
a surprise, honestly, was that the pitching lasted this long
for flarity, For flarity, okay, I didn't expect.

Speaker 3 (36:04):
I did not expect that at all. Yeah, and he's
outings go through five innings was very impressive for me.
Let's set the stage though, two to one top of
the six. They just initially they just did an intentional walk,
so you got runners on first and second with two outs.
Now you put him on and this guy gets an
RBI and right here it goes three one. You get

(36:24):
an outfield hitting there and he turns third and scores
because they're running on two outs, right and you now
now were talking, you could be in some trouble going
late into this game because we don't trust the Dodgers' bullpen.
I'll tell you what, if.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
I get a one more freaking email or text message
about this dog on election, I can wait too fast forward.

Speaker 3 (36:42):
Why do you not block that stuff? Just too much?
Just too much. I don't get any of it. I've
blocked all the emails. I get none of it. I
get none of it. Imailing anyway, y'all better vote.

Speaker 2 (36:52):
I'm emailing back and said, you know what, very concerning
for me where I got some issues too.

Speaker 3 (36:58):
I'd like to discuss anyway. Football all right?

Speaker 2 (37:02):
The Kansas City Chiefs make a trade for DeAndre Hopkins,
who was toiling away in Tennesse City, Tennesse City, Tennessee.
I cannot think of a single moment in DeAndre Hopkins
Tennessee Titans career.

Speaker 3 (37:15):
Oh, I got one hell Mary from Calamary that was
in his Arizona Cardinal career. Like I said, I can't
take him a single moment. No, DeAndre Hopkins Tennessee Titans.
You go to Tennessee almost to you know. I don't
want to use to say die, but remember what happened
Randy Moss Right, football players go to Tennessee the way
old people go to Florida. Exactly so.

Speaker 2 (37:33):
But the hop now traded to Kansas City. He says
he keeps a Chris Jones. Apparently it is his buddy.
He's been a big fan of Pat. He talked about
how great Andy Reid was. He was when Andy Reid
was in when they were playing against these other old
time when he was in Houston. What will be the
impact if any feel fore just saint none, that DeAndre

(37:54):
Hopkins will have on Kansas City?

Speaker 3 (37:56):
All Right, you know it's none. Would beat a cop out,
But I gotta have like a barometer, right, like, it's
got to be a meet or up hit zero, then
it'd be nothing. So we're in. But it's not gonna
be that. It's not he pays. He plays with Mahome,
he plays the best quarterback on the planet, so it's
not gonna be that. I think this could be the
impact that Juju had two years ago. I think it

(38:17):
could be that type of impact because he is a talent. Guys,
A lot of times we said this about Christian McCaffery,
at least I did. That hamstring started to hurt a
whole lot when he was in Carolina when he could
see the riding on the wall that they weren't gonna
be good. I think DeAndre still got a lot in
the tank. I think DeAndre there was a very popular
take here with our our good friend Rob Parker and

(38:38):
his feelings about it that I heard doing one of
the commercial breaks I missed on the week when he
said it, But I don't think I think this is
a hey, the way they turned these around, he probably
said it yesterday. Yeah, I don't think that is a
bad I don't think this is a bad move at all.
I think this is Hey, we're realizing that we need
a receiver. Okay, we've lost the guy for the year

(38:58):
or for the ir period, however long he's gonna be
on it. We can't just keep throwing to the titles.
Kelsey is older. You can see Kelsey is really just
pacing himself. I like this move to work out, even
though I don't want it too, because I'm an AFC
guy with the Dolphins and out who wants to see
the Chiefs get better. I think this move works out
just fine. Men, I think DeAndre still got a lot
left in the tank. He just wasn't showing it, because

(39:20):
why would you show up for will Levice. Well, that's
the thing, that's what we're gonna We're gonna find out
real quick, real just how much gas is left on
that bad boy, because that's gonna be that's the key
for me. How much you think I think he has
enough to make an impack I I think I don't
he's got more. I don't think. I don't think it's so.

Speaker 2 (39:36):
I don't think it'll be the same what we saw
in Arizona for Brian Kyler. But DeAndre Hopkins is a
guy who does not have to be open to catch
the ball. And that is such a skill when you
have a quarterback like Mahomes who can buy time and
buy time by time. Watch right, like that was why
it was part of the reason why Kyler he was
able to buy time by the time and it was
worked a little bit, you know.

Speaker 3 (39:56):
Now A lot of that had to do with playing.
Is this Is this the new close off couple's track? Okay,
all right?

Speaker 2 (40:03):
Coming up next, we just saw the Dodgers gonna have
a jamboking everybody now, Jason Smith, My Carmen.

Speaker 3 (40:09):
