It is because it has a lot of elements that
you want. First of all, you have the number one
media market, and they haven't won since Moby Dick was
a guppy, so you have that excitement. This isn't the
Yankees up from the nineties, you know what I mean,
where they were winning all the time and it was great.
But you know, after a while, if you remember in

Atlanta when they won all those divisions, went to the
playoffs and all that, people stopped showing up after a while,
right they had Oh I've been through that, I saw it.

You know, this is a fever pitch, top media market,
downtrod an organization that hadn't been able to win in
a long time. I'm not talking about going to the
finals of nineteen ninety nine, hadn't been able to win
since nineteen seventy three. Then you add this unbelievable young

player just twenty two years old, guiding this young and
up and coming team, and you have to say that's
the future of the league. Like it is, I'll either
want to see Wemby or I want to see the
Knicks win finally, do you know what I mean? Like
there is something for everybody. You can root against New York,

right even though the Knicks are more favorable this time
because they haven't won in a long time, so people
don't have that kind of hatred like when the Yankees
are winning all the time, you know what I mean,
Or like the Dodgers now, where people root against the
Dodgers now because they win all the time. So I
think those two combinations scept for a perfect example and
a perfect finals and probably will be one of the

biggest that there unless it's a four or five game situation,
you know what I mean, and uncompetitive.

finals in a long time.

Steelers still showing up, Fat Joe's still showing up, you know,
Spike Lee showing up good, bad and different.

Now they're finally good, and that's good for the NBA.

And I think sometimes as a fan first of basketball
before even my own teams, this is great for the
league where I don't need the Knicks being great all
the time and the fans going crazy and burning up
the city every every year, but the Knicks having this moment,
the Knicks having his real shot is great for the league.

Absolutely. Then you go to the other side. And I
thought about it.
Speaker 4 (03:14):
The only other thing I could think of a scenario
specifically this year in the NBA would have been maybe
if you're the Lakers, just because you get the New
York LA thing kind of the Yankees Dodgers, you would
have gotten that finally, right, That's the only thing I
could think that maybe will be bigger than this.

And is this Lebron's last year? Luca?
Speaker 4 (03:29):
Can Luca beat his old teammate in Jalen Brunton. That's
the only one I think could have maybe been a
bigger case scenario.

But with this you already mentioned.

It is this the future or is this the now?
With Victor wibin Yama, is he the awe man, he's
on his way, he's coming, he's coming, Or is this
man he's already here, he has planted his flag, he

And I think you get that.

You also get the literal visual of the two best
players on the on each team. You get David versus Goliath,
the six foot maybe six foot one Jalen Brunson doing

want to put Wimby, and you get that kind of
visual matchup which I'm going to exploit if I'm the NBA.

I'm putting so many David Goliath puns up in the stuff,
and I think that's gonna be great as well. So
it's the proving, you know, like the veterans we've been
through a little more grizzled versus young, upstart Spurs.

So I think there's just so many elements. It's the

The Spurs give them a few years, they seem to
always be in the finals. They're right back at it
again versus, as you mentioned, a team that hasn't been

Adam Silver, for all that this NBA season has had,
between gambling, tanking, is the All Star Game good or not?

that I can kind of maybe hang my hat on
the link. You know, it could be a great check
mark for the NBA and for Adam Silver.

I really do the Spurs and what they've been able
