Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hello again, Welcome. This is Connoisseur's Corner. I'm Jordan, and
joining me is my good friend mona dogof direct from
your Kitchen to use, a nutrition coach and culinary expert,
author of Satisfy and Satisfry, among others. Let's talk about
light bolonaise sauce. Any kind of bowlon a sauce is
okay with me, but yours is a great one.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
And what I've done is I've made it lighter. And
how I've made it lighter few ingredients. So the first
thing that I've done, My secret ingredient for the sauce
are carrots. And what carrots do. It adds natural sweetness
and actually helps reduce the acidity. They also use a
lighter meat like extra leine, ground chicken or turkey. And
once you have that incredible sauce and your kitchen's going
to smell so great, unbelievable meal. So let's get going.

(00:40):
So this is what you're going to do. You're gonna
heat one tablespoonful of olive oil and a stock pot
over medium heat, round a pound of ground chicken or
turkey until fully cooked. I like using the extra lean
add the half a cup of chopped carrot, one chopped onion,
and one tablespoon of mint scarlet. Saute for five minutes
until the carrots begin to soften. That's when your kitchen
is going to start smelling really good. And then you

(01:01):
add one twenty eight ounce of can crushed tomatoes, a
half a cup of chicken broth, three ounces of tomato
paste that's about half a can, two tablespoons of fresh
chopped basil, only, one teaspoon of sugar, one teaspoonful boltsamic vinegar,
teaspoonful oreganon, and some salt and pepper to the pot
and just stir to combine. Bring it to simmer reduced
to low. Cook for thirty to forty minutes. Remove the cover,

(01:24):
cook for an additional five minutes, and then you have
the most amazing sauce.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
As always, everything you bring us is amazing. Mona Dolgf
