Welcome to Connoisseur's Corner. I'm Jordan Rich and we're about
to talk about Asian cuisine with one of the most
famous and celebrated restaurants not only in New England but
throughout the country, Kyle Loon and Sauga, celebrating their seventy
fifth anniversary this year. And joining me is Bobby Wong.
And before we talk about the evolution of the cuisine,
let's talk about how proud you are of this very
important milestone.

Anytime you're around long enough, people start calling you at tradition,
So that's great.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Seventy five years. Can you give us a brief history?
What was like seventy five years ago? I know you
weren't around, but some people were.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Yeah, well, seventy five years ago was my grandparents. My
pair're the one that started in nineteen fifty in a
long time since then. My parents took it over in
nineteen fifty eight and they grew the restaurant from the
original forty seat restaurant to twelve hundred seats over the years,
and we were the next alliance. So they was handed
down to us, and so we've been grateful enough to

be able to carry on the legacy. And now we're
at the seventy fifth year, and it just went by
so fast. I remember as a kid when I first
started working there fourteen years old. Fifteen years old Washington Dishes,
and it seems like a blurr now, but it was
like a blink of an eye. And now we're at
this stage.
