Redevelopment Begins On Boston's Mary Ellen McCormack Housing Complex

There's a lot of hustle and bustle here with construction
equipment breaking ground at the Mary Allen McCormick Housing Complex,
first built in nineteen thirty eight, now in Boston.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
We also know that being the first will soon mean
that you're the oldest if you don't maintain things over
in time and renovate and redo them. So today we're
making right on that part of it with what will
be beautiful, incredible spaces and homes.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Mayor Michelle Woo took part in the ceremony, talking about
the refurbishments and redevelopment of the area.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Including the twenty two hundred new homes that will be created.
This is going to be absolutely spectacular for our residents.

Housing will be made available for low and middle income earners,
as well as units set aside and market rate. Construction
on the first phase is expected to wrap up in
