Speaker 1 (00:01):
Get your hands together, and we're gonna start to party.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Start part I'm ready to party. The Elvis DA Ran
After Party.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
Welcome to the After Party Podcast. We're gonna go back
in time.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Guys, We're gonna go back in time.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
We're gonna go back in time to twenty eleven.

Speaker 4 (00:25):
Caitlyn.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Caitlyn, who you hear on the phone, was an intern
with us in twenty eleven. Oh wow, that was a
long time ago. How many do the man? Fifteen years?

Speaker 4 (00:37):
Yeah? No, what's that? Well?

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Yeah, fifteen fifty okay, So, Caitlin, what has happened to
you since you interned on our Caveden radio show.

Speaker 4 (00:48):
Oh? Boy, well I met someone a few years after.
So I got married in twenty nineteen, had my first
son in twenty twenty one, and my second son in
twenty two.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Oh wow, you've been.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
So busy, and you don't you busy?

Speaker 3 (01:04):
We haven't accomplished anything since you left?

Speaker 4 (01:06):
No, you definitely have.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Well, So, Caitlin, I was told that one of your
memories from interning with us fifteen years ago was when
Guy Fieri first visited our show before he was a
big superstar. Is that true?

Speaker 4 (01:18):
Yes? So he came with a whole posse, and I
had to go downstairs to get him, and he told
me that the interns got better looking every semester.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Oh guy, the hehoor Well that was nice, you know,
that's how he That charm has paid off for him, obviously.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
All these years away, it certainly has.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
So what was it like working here? Was this a
happy place fifteen years ago? Because memory, we have no
memory of it fifteen years ago.

Speaker 4 (01:47):
Yes, I was talking to Diamond, lots of different people,
but still, you know, happy. Everybody was incredible. I told
her my stepdad had to bring me in on Thursday
mornings at five am. So I came from Connecticut.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
So him and I left at three thirty in the
morning to get there.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Oh my god.

Speaker 4 (02:08):
And then on Tuesday mornings, I took the train from
New Haven. So I took the four fourteen am train
and got to you guys for seven am.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
Yeah, you're up before us.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
Well, So to anyone out there who wants to be
an intern, let's say here or anywhere else, what do
you get? What did you get from being an intern
that made you different and approached the world in a
different way, in a better way.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
Well, that's Yeah, that's definitely why I texted this morning too.
I just you guys taught me how to honestly just
be a better person and be good to people. Everybody
that I met, everyone that I talked to. I have,
you know, big dreams of obviously, you know I'm still
in advertising, I just do it in a different way now.
So I you guys taught me literally how to be

(02:54):
who I am today.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Truly.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
It was the best four and a half months of
my life, truly, And then I graduated did and here
we are.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
I have a question.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Okay, so if somebody were to say to you, give
me some scoop behind the scenes info about the Alvista
and Morning show, what would you say?

Speaker 3 (03:12):
It's easy for you to ask that question because you
weren't here when I asked it.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
That is why I asked it.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
So Carla was the phone producer at the time, so
obviously I always I still text her, so obviously, you know,
I think about you know, there was no gossip to
be had about her and Anthony at that time. It
was just everybody had their It was still as crazy
as it sounds today, like everybody had their task that
they had to do, you know, on the Morning show

(03:41):
during the Morning show after I remember going in and
sitting with Scary when he was editing Brody when he
was editing just everybody, like learning what everybody's job was,
and then the super topics. I don't, I don't. There
wasn't much to Were you for the same show? What
do you mean? Yeah? But I feel like we're all

(04:03):
nice time. Yeah, we're all nice to you.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
Were we all nice?

Speaker 4 (04:07):
Oh? Yes? Oh yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
Did you ask if Scary hit on her, because that's
always the question.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
No, No, he didn't.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
Okay, but that was a long time ago. You mentioned
Scary was actually editing. He doesn't edit anyone. I've got people. Well, no,
he doesn't have people. We had to find people. I
think it's fascinating because you know, I bet we I mean,
we've had I would say thousands of interns come through

(04:35):
here in our thirty years.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Yeah, and you do wonder like how are they doing?

Speaker 4 (04:40):
You?

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Wonder like how are you? And hearing your story?

Speaker 4 (04:42):
It was great, it is And we talked about we
I gave you two bits that I never thought would
see the light of day. So one of them was
how people my age. I was twenty one when I
interned they don't date so and Danielle was like, I
just want somebody to take you out for a slice
of pizza. And I was like, it's just not It's

(05:04):
just not what happens anymore, right, So he talks about that. Honestly,
my girlfriends that aren't you know, with anybody. No, there's
no like real dating. I don't know what it is.
You don't go and meet people at a bar. You
guys were talking about that too, like you don't just
walk into a bar and hope to find someone.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Anymore, Okay, And what was the other bit?

Speaker 4 (05:26):
Oh, this one. I went on spring break while I
was working for you guys, and I meet out with
this guy on the beach. And then I saw him
the next day and I ignored him because he had
a Star Wars shirt on, and I was like, I
can't be.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
I don't know, he looked really hot on the beach,
and then when I.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
Saw the Star Wars shirt in the elevator, I just
pretended like I didn't know.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
Well, if he was holl on the beach, you can
always peel that Star Wars shirt, right, Well, that's so cool,
you know, But I will be honest, we have heard
from some sources that some interns did not enjoy their
time here. Oh really really?

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Oh I didn't know that.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
Yeah I could we I so, I and we.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
One of the interns we had wasn't wasn't the biggest
everybody's cup of tea during my time. I'll be honest,
I remember that. Oh wow, wow.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
Interesting you guys get paid either, right, you were before
the paid interns.

Speaker 4 (06:30):
I was waiting before the paid interns, so I was.
I was using my own cash to take the train.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
Wow, I'm glad you did.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
What's up, Nate? You may have already answered this question, Caitlin,
but what bigger life lesson do you think you learn
from the people here that you carry with you every
single day into no matter what the situation you encounter.
What lesson did you learn with us that has helped
you be the person you are now?

Speaker 4 (06:57):
Well? I learned how to talk to people. I feel
like when you're a senior in college, you don't really
know how to You know, you're taking all these classes
and you're learning your major. But you guys taught me that, Like,
everybody has a story, right, everybody has something that they
want to say. So in every job that I've had
in advertising, I've kind of taken that with me and
learned that I have to ask the right questions. I

(07:20):
have to, you know, not judge anybody. You know, no
do judge a book by its cover. So that's probably
the biggest lesson I learned. I just learned how wonderful
you guys were to everybody. And I think my stepdad says,
everything you learned from there is shaped you who you are, So.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
That's so cool. Good, Well, look, thank you, Caitlin. Sure
do you appreciate you checking back in with us, of course,
and we're honored to have you here and I'm so
glad you're at their love in your life. Congratulations on
your life, Caitlin. Good for you, Thank you, thank you,
thank

Speaker 4 (07:54):
You, Bye bye, part you to
