Speaker 1 (00:05):
Well, here we go.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Why is the show over? What's happening?
Speaker 1 (00:11):
No, the show is beginning. Here we go. It's just beginning,
you know what. Uh no, it's never the end. This
show never ends. Well, welcome to the day. It is
our favorite day of the week. It is Food News Thursday. Froggy,
are you set and ready to go? I am setting,
ready to roll cock them, ready to shoot. Oh my god,
what will your food news countdown beat today? Oh we're
(00:32):
not going to start that this early in the morning.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
Yeah, but today is a special food day.
Speaker 4 (00:36):
It is Filet Mignon Day. Oh no, that's what they said,
national or inser.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
I don't know if it's not.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
I don't think there's national Filet mignon deals. However, we'll
take a look for those. You know what, don't get
mad at me for saying this. Nothing into it, you know,
the day they do call it the rolls Royce of meat.
But I know I like a little more of marveling,
a little more of fat, like a New York's trip.
Speaker 5 (01:04):
Like a.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Yeah, you know, they're very lean though, and you know
those in the no say that is the best steak
if you're going to get One's part of the cow.
What it is? Part of the cow. There are many
parts of the cow that I'm not going to eat.
May I give you the names of the parts of
the cow that I do not want to eat?
Speaker 6 (01:24):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (01:25):
No, well I'll start the file a. No, I'll eat
that before. A lot of parts of filets are buttery.
They're great. I don't know, but happy you know. If
I'll tell you what you could have mine, it's all good?
All right? So what we didn't officially open the show,
and I feel like we're kind of naked. Should we
open the show officially? Yeah? Here we go. Increase volume
(01:46):
and here we go. What's that noise? Wow? Elvis Doran Show.
(02:12):
Oh god, the country's most popular top forty one.
Speaker 7 (02:15):
Progra Elvis Duran in the morning show.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
Yeah, we're doing things kind of bat backwards, but that's okay.
Speaker 8 (02:25):
It is.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
It's Thursday. It's August thirteenth, and uh yeah, how about
some jaw rule. I'm gonna give you a little jaw
rule about it. We all welcome to Thursday. Y'all, come on,
come on and there you go.
Speaker 5 (02:46):
Go.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
Ru how's he doing? Is he swinging back? Is he's
starting any new music festivals or anything?
Speaker 7 (02:55):
Ruin.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Something brewing. All right, let's get on with the day.
Our first caller of the day is Justine. Justine is
here to make an announcement. Justine's announcement. Tomorrow is the
last day at your job. Really, Yes, good morning, Hello Alvis,
Good morning.
Speaker 9 (03:13):
I can't believe I'll talking to you. Guys.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Well, we can't believe you're here. Hold on, you're quitting
a job. But the good news you're starting a new
job next week. Right, So, doors open, doors closed, doors
open again.
Speaker 10 (03:23):
Right.
Speaker 9 (03:24):
Yeah, So I've been at my job for twenty five
years and it's time for a new opportunity. I had
a major heart surgery in January, right, so it opened up.
It made me think about a lot of things and
some changes. And thanks to you, thanks to all of
(03:45):
you guys, and you gave me the courage after all
these years, to quit and to move on and to
do something that's better for my mental health.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Oh wow, You know what, isn't it interesting how some
people do and some people don't. And when I say that,
notice the signs when devastating things happen in their lives.
You know, the universe is always giving us. It's always
the universe is always giving us the sign like, Okay,
big happening. It could be sad, but lessons to be learned.
Maybe it's time for you to rethink your life and
(04:16):
your journey. And they worked for you. It worked. That's good.
Speaker 9 (04:19):
It thanks to you guys and all your encouragement and
everything and listening to you guys every single day. I
had the nerve to go in and say this is it.
I need to do something better for my mental health.
So now I can't believe I got through.
Speaker 11 (04:33):
I was so excited.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Yeah, it's good to have your excitement here. So as
you make the transition into your new job, are any
other changes on the way. You're gonna cut your hair
really short? I mean, what's going on there?
Speaker 9 (04:46):
No, no, no, I like my hair long. I don't
like short hair, but no, not really, just just that.
And you know, actually, my daughter what we call like
that is getting engaged next week. So that's gonna be
very exciting.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Look, you know, it's great when life keeps rolling out
new stories, right, new things happening. So we're good to
have new stuff on the calendar and your new stuff,
Look at that, a new job next week. That's pretty cool.
So Justine what a great first caller of the day.
Come on, Nate, a full Elvis apparel line there for you.
Justine a shirt. It's a shirt and a hoodie. All right, Scotty, Scotty,
(05:28):
don't hang Scotty, don't hang your head in angst. Come on,
you need to ruin these shirts for them. We're backed up,
that's all I can say.
Speaker 8 (05:38):
Well, well, okay, well, thank you very much.
Speaker 9 (05:41):
I'm so happy. You guys make my day every single day,
and I'm so happy that I got through this.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
Morning as we are happy. Yes, congratulations.
Speaker 9 (05:51):
I'll let you know how it goes. I'll let you
know how it goes.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
You sound so happy. It's so nice.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
Yeah, you do sound happy. It's nice to have someone
sounding happy for watching this room. We love you, Justine.
I know we found one. Let's get into the three
things we need to know with Justin Dunn. We'd move
to Gandhi and then we move on with the day. Gandhi,
what's going on?
Speaker 7 (06:10):
Hello?
Speaker 3 (06:11):
All right?
Speaker 2 (06:11):
ICE agents may soon be wearing electric gloves capable of
delivering painful shocks. The Department of Homeland Security issued a
notice earlier this week saying ICE plans to spend twenty
million dollars on thousands of pairs of these electric gloves.
The Kentucky company that makes them say that they offer
a humane, low optics de escalation solution for many situations
facing officers, and that they leave no burns, marks or scars.
(06:34):
The DHS contract says the electric gloves could be distributed
as soon as next March. Of course, opponents say this
leaves room for undetectable and unnecessary brutality. The White House
has lifted the ban on TikTok on federal government devices.
The move follows a Justice Department opinion finding that employees
can legally download TikTok under the platform's new US joint venture,
(06:55):
which is majority owned by American investors. TikTok's Chinese parent company,
Byte Dance Change a nineteen point nine percent stake, while Oracle,
silver Lake and MGX each hold fifteen percent. And finally,
the FTC says it's sending money two thousands of grub
hub users to settle a lawsuit alleging that the delivery
service tricks customers with hidden fees. The payments will total
(07:18):
more than twenty three million dollars. It comes after the
FTC and Illinois Attorney General accused the company back in
twenty twenty four of using illegal and deceptive practices. Grub
Hub was also accused of deceiving its drivers about how
much money they would make and listing restaurants on its
platform without their permission. And those are your three things?
Speaker 1 (07:36):
Are you ready for your Thursday? Yeah, let's go get them.
Speaker 7 (07:40):
I've never said this before with Tommy Didaria. Is there
anything you've ever said before that you want to share?
Steve open your free iHeartRadio app search.
Speaker 12 (07:49):
I've never said this before, and listen today Elvis Duran
in the Morning Show.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
Capital one offering no fees or minimums on checking account
and Capital one cafes are open seven days a week
to assist with your banking needs. What's in your wallet?
Terms apply? I see Capital one dot com slash bank guy,
Capital one NA member fd I c oh god, it's
so good to be back.
Speaker 12 (08:17):
Okay, this is Elvis Duran in the Morning Show.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
So what did you wake up to today? I mean,
sometimes you wake up and there's a message from someone
you're like, oh God, here we go, or great news,
or you wake up to a filthy kitchen or clothes
that haven't been folded laundry. Not what'd you wake up to? Anyone?
Speaker 2 (08:35):
I had a nightmare and that was exciting. But when
I woke up, it was like twelve forty five. So
then I went outside and looked for the meteors to
know event.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
Did you see anything?
Speaker 2 (08:44):
Nothing? Just a bunch of clouds and the lights of
New York City.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
Okay, all right, so you woke up, you woke up
to nothing, but you had a nightmare. Okay, all right,
what about you, frog? What'd you wake up to today?
There was twelve fifteen in the morning count as a
wake up? Yeah, wait, you woke up? What'd you wake
up to? I woke up to this sound. Oh no,
Lisa's about to vomit in the bed. It was Rex
(09:08):
and he's standing in the bed doing it. I'm like no, no, no, no, no.
So I took I whipped my shirt off really fast
and caught it with my shirt because I'm like, I
don't want who what it wanted on the bed, and
I didn't have time to get a towel. So what
do you know? That's a nice visual? Thank you for sure,
and anyone else wake up to anything?
Speaker 3 (09:27):
Last year I woke up at three thirty.
Speaker 4 (09:29):
I mean I felt like I tossed and turned all night,
but three thirty was when the cat starts beating me
with his paws to get up and give him a snack.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
Get up? Yep? Is it true that what you wake
up to kind of sets the pace for the day.
I don't know, Nate, what did you wake up to?
So this was her name? I know I was alone,
and that was part of the problem because I was.
I actually slept well, but I woke up I had
to pee, but I was at full staff. Guys sharing this,
guys all know the issue you have when you you
(10:00):
have that but you have to pee, you basically have
to do a handstand. You do. Yeah, you gotta leaned
against the walls. Yeah, you don't want to break it. So, yeah,
something women will never understand that.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
That's crazy.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
Well mine's not as exciting as that. But I woke
up to a filthy kitchen. I made pizza last night,
and my god, I've I've got to clean it up
at some point today. It's a mess. A lot of
people say I can't go to bed with a dirty kitchen. Well,
you know, I prefer to go to bed with a
dirty kitchen and deal with it the next day. If
you make a dirty kitchen happen, then you eat and
(10:37):
you're like, bolt, I don't want to like clean screw that.
Speaker 7 (10:40):
No.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
Yeah, so now I've got flour. I've got lots of
stuff to pick up today, but not as exciting as
you nate. It wasn't that exciting. And it goes away. Okay,
we don't have to continue the conversation.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
Yeah, I just didn't know that. I bet a lot
of people didn't know that. Well we do now, and
you keep telling them, you want to tell them some more?
What else is there that's about it? Keep going? Oh,
I woke up with a lot of look, dirty kitchen.
What'd you wake with a hard arm? Oh? Problem? Okay,
all right, let's get into horse comps. He was doing
it today. Oh it's food news Thursday. Froggy's doing them.
(11:16):
Who are you doing with Frog? Well, we're gonna do
it's the brain injury boys. I thought we should do
a do it horse cops. I like it.
Speaker 13 (11:24):
Let's go Frog, you start, all right, I'll go first.
If you're celebrating a birthday today, happy birthday to you.
You celebrate with a Sebastian Stan and wim is it
mazar Mazer Debbie mazar Leo. Not every room needs your
energy today, Save it for the people and places that
actually deserve.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
You your day. It's a six. Does that mean I
can leave? This room doesn't need my energy? No, we
deserve you. We definitely deserve you. Damn it. Hey Virgo,
organize something at home or at work that has been
quietly bothering you. The shift will be instant. Your days
of seven Libra A colleague, your friend leans on you,
and you show up for them in a way that
(12:04):
does not go unnoticed. Your day's an eight Scorpio. Something
you have been watching quietly from the sidelines finally confirms
exactly what you thought. Your day's a nine Sagittarius. Get
outside and move your body. Whatever is weighing on your
mind will feel lighter after twenty minutes. Your days in
eight Capricorn. Let someone else take the lead on something today.
(12:25):
Stepping back is not the same as giving up. Remember
that your day a super six.
Speaker 13 (12:31):
Aquarius and offbeat approach to a problem gets people talking
about you in exactly the way you like.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
Your day's nine Pisces, a door opens that you had
given up on and the timing couldn't be more perfect.
Your day, oh, of course A ten.
Speaker 13 (12:46):
Aries that channel the restless energy into something productive before
it starts working against you.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
Your days an eight Taurus. Your comfort zone is calling
your name loudly today, but staying where, staying there is
what keeps you stuck. Push on through your day. A
fantastic five Jim and I.
Speaker 13 (13:04):
A throwaway line and a conversation sparks an idea that
you cannot stop thinking about all day long.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
Your day is A nine and cancer. Protect your piece
today like it is the most valuable thing you own,
because right now it is your day. A seven and
those are your Thursday morning horoscopes. Look at it. A
list of the most hated words in English language. Are
you ready for those?
Speaker 6 (13:27):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (13:28):
And we use them a lot, and we do we
do acknowledge the fact that they are hated. First of all,
the word moist, moist is just it. It's like, it's
like the champion of hated words. In my opinion, I
don't know moist You with me? Phlem Yeah, yeah. Not
only do we dislike what it stands for, it it's
sort of related to the word moist, but the spelling
(13:49):
is just it's just frightening. The word squelch. Here, here's
the thing about the word squelch. The word squelch, it
means one thing that we understand, but it's just it.
It sounds like some sort of cringey sucking water sound.
Doesn't squelch it does.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
So I am traumatized by the word squelch because I
watch Game of Thrones and I do it with the
captions on, and there's a lot of squelching, and it's
not great. It's usually a knife through a body part
of some sort.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
That's fun.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
But I use the word squelch meaning you know, the
meaning you turn off something, you make it silent, right,
you squelched it? Okay, Another one, the word whatever. People
don't like the word whatever.
Speaker 7 (14:26):
Yeah, I get that.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
It's just it's annoying whatever exactly, irregardless. Can we just
erase irregardless?
Speaker 2 (14:35):
I hate if it came a word. It was so
fun to laugh at it not being a word, and
now it's a word.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
Regardless is the standard word I'm assuming right, like like
this like that. Have you ever seen an interview with
the captions on and you see like this, like like
like the word where word like where we're like, you
know people use that word like a lot, right, like
like and then finally ready, panties, Yeah, gross, don't put
(15:05):
them with the first word. But you know what, guys
were underwear? That's that's not gross? Is it underwear?
Speaker 6 (15:10):
No?
Speaker 2 (15:11):
No, But like, what is the sexy way to talk
about underwear? Because underwear sounds like yeah, whatever, panties sounds
a little sexier, but it's a horrid word.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
Well what is the sexy well lingerie?
Speaker 2 (15:22):
But you know, I don't know, no idea, but I
hate the word panties.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
Were brief box or briefs and nothing sexy about that
in your garments, Nate, like the word undies, that's that's
that's sexy. Yeah, that's sexy if you're into young kids exactly.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
It's like child's word.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
Scary underwear.
Speaker 6 (15:47):
What do you like?
Speaker 1 (15:48):
I don't know. I just pataloons. No, I just use boxers,
box of briefsky underwear.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
My dad used to call it moods, right, scary?
Speaker 1 (16:00):
Did you have more words that people don't like? Kiddos,
doggos and hubbos kiddo, doggo hubbo, I don't like I
don't like hubby hubby makes me cringe like mole hubby.
That's my hubby's favorite sad ways, Okay, great, even your hubby,
go enjoy your sandwich the kiddos. Yeah, but do we
(16:21):
agree out of all those words, it's panties number one?
Pretty bad? All right, all in favor of panties being
the most hated word on earth, say I all right, hello, yeah, Hello, alday,
Elvis dan in The Morning Show.
Speaker 12 (16:38):
Text US at fifty five one hundred standard data and
messaging rates may apply.
Speaker 7 (16:43):
Elvis Duran and The Morning Show.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
You know what, when summertime comes, flies and you know,
I have the doors open a lot to let the
dogs in and out, you know whatever. But the flies
come in and they're zooming around. It looks like it
looks like LaGuardia Airport here taking off, and it's just
it's just not stop. They have they have their own
(17:07):
tower like directing them anyway. So I'm trying to you
go up to the fly. There is a science I've heard.
You're supposed to just as fast as you as you can,
just whack.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
You know, and something white if it's on a white surface,
because they can't see the contrast. Allegedly, oh.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
I have been slapping surfaces for four days now and
I haven't. I haven't hit a fly my hand it
gets the surface. So we have one of those tennis
racket bug zapper things. Oh yeah, the one you know,
so when Alex isn't chasing me around the house with it. Wait,
those things are painful, by the way. You know you've
have you been hit by one of those frog You
(17:47):
felt it? Right? Absolutely, they're painful.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
Are we talking?
Speaker 13 (17:54):
It's not it's a nine volt battery. Yeah, but it's
the it's the shock. It's see what wait a second,
He'll just.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
Happen When you do get one, it's like it is
a Barbecue's like it's like whoa, and maybe maybe a
little smoke will come off. You'll say, whoa. But these
flies are everywhere. I can't. I can't, I just can't.
They're always landing on my ankle. You slap them, you
never get them. But it's one of the prices we
pay for loving summer so much.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
Yeah, it's pretty great, you know. I always catch the
bug and take them outside. But flies, I don't feel
bad if they accidentally die in the process.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
Where do you draw the line between being a conserver
of flies and a murderer of flies.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
Well, if I accidentally kill it and it dies, I
don't feel bad. The other ones I'd feel really bad.
Flies I'm like tried.
Speaker 4 (18:43):
I try to shush them out the house, like I
try to like guide them towards the door or the window.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
Are you kidding me? How do you see? As a kid,
I'm sure Nate did this.
Speaker 13 (18:54):
I would catch them with my hands like this like
a cup, shake it around, like make it dizzy, and
then let it go fly in a circle.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
And then you could kill it a little bit hands No,
because he loves making it dizzy, watching it flail around.
Then he kills it. You cup it with your hands,
you shake it for a bit, and you drop it
on the counter, And that is kind of cruel. I think,
(19:23):
I don't know. That is some Jeffrey Dahmer stuff right there.
Then everyone's talking about the salt gun. Yes you should.
I'm surprised Alex doesn't have a whole arsenal of those things. No,
first of all, he would shoot me with it. It shoots.
It shoots salt. Yeah, I I don't exactly know how
(19:44):
big the salt is, but it shoots. It's called an
assault gun and it's got a little salt crystals and
you're able to like shoot the flies on the wing.
So it's no So then who cleans up the salt
on the kitchen floor? I'm okay, rather have buzzing around
or salt on the ground. Well, neither, there's gotta be
(20:05):
a way. I mean, I would use it on my
baked potato. I will look into that, all right, Danielle, Yes,
so much going on? Where are you all right? Well?
Speaker 4 (20:15):
Pit Bull has announced can you believe it's his fourteenth
studio album.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
Whoa fourteenth?
Speaker 4 (20:20):
It's called Pitcoin, Okay? He announced it on social media.
He said Pitcoin rises October eighth, and then of course
he added Dolly at the end of that.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
And do you know how many things he has his
hand in.
Speaker 4 (20:33):
He's got missed three h five records, He's got a
vodka he just said again his book of world record
for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps. This
guy is very busy. And now his fourteenth studio album
is on the way.
Speaker 6 (20:47):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (20:47):
The Jonas Brothers.
Speaker 4 (20:49):
They will be performing at the first NFL regular season
game in Australia. It's one day after the NFL kickoff
game on September ninth, the Los Angeles Rams and the
same San Francisco john What is it San Francisco forty
nine ers?
Speaker 12 (21:03):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
We'll face off in Melbourne.
Speaker 4 (21:06):
At halftime, the Jonas brothers will take the football field.
Now people are wondering, is this an audition for the
Super Bowl halftime show.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
I guess it could be. We will see it.
Speaker 10 (21:18):
Give me fun.
Speaker 1 (21:18):
Let me tell you whoever their manager is. They're constantly
doing something.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
Oh my gosh, they're always busy.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
The Jonahs brothers are always flying to and fro and
doing something, always always crazy. They wear me out.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
I know they need to take a break, take a vacation.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
Jonas Travis Kelcey commented for the first time about his
wedding night.
Speaker 3 (21:37):
He kept it very brief.
Speaker 4 (21:38):
I was during yesterday's media availability at the Kansas City
Chiefs training camp, and he said the wedding was the
best night of my life. I appreciate everybody who came
out and celebrated and had fun with us. It was
crazy night, full of a lot of celebration. But it's football, baby,
he went on to say. By the way, he did
say it was his childhood dream to be at the garden,
and he thanked the owners of MSG obviously for allowing
(22:00):
them to have the opportunity to get married there. So
we always hear about people and their encounters with celebrities,
but what about celebrities and they're crazy.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
Encounters with fans.
Speaker 4 (22:12):
So can you believe that somebody once left a baby
named Jolene on Dolly Parton's doorstep with the note saying
Dolly please take care of her, and Dolly had to
turn the baby over to child services woods yep, m m.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
Yep, yep. Crazy.
Speaker 4 (22:28):
The Jonas brothers once received a baby shark preserved in
some kind of a tube from a fan, So that's
always fun.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
Let's see what else.
Speaker 4 (22:36):
Harry potterstar Rupert Grint once was invited to hang out
with a bunch of drag queens and he said yes,
he said, They ended up dressing him in dragon They
all went out for bagels at four o'clock in the morning.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
So that turned out to be a fantastic night full.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
I've invited out with drag queens. You always say yes.
Speaker 3 (22:56):
You always have to say yes, always, never decline never.
Speaker 2 (22:59):
And Joe Kerr, who.
Speaker 4 (23:00):
Plays Steve Harrington and stranger things. He says, a fan
once asked for a lock of his hair, and obviously
he said, no, that's not gonna happen.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
Crazy. So what are we watching?
Speaker 4 (23:11):
We do have NFL preseason football, Froggy, How excited are you?
Speaker 3 (23:16):
We've got the Steelers and the Packers.
Speaker 4 (23:18):
We've got the forty nine Ers, and we've got the
Titans tonight on Netflix the Field of Dreams the Major
League Baseball game in Iowa with the Phillies and the Twins,
so that will be fun. You also have all twelve
episodes of the third season of Tires with Shane Gillis
on Netflix.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
And don't forget Camp Rock.
Speaker 4 (23:34):
Three once again with the Jonas Brothers tonight at eight
pm Eastern Time on the Disney Channel.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
And that's my Danielle report.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
See they do too much, Hey day had three stories
on your report three.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
I hope they have a new Christmas movie this year.
I'm sure they're working follow up to last year's. It
was so cute.
Speaker 1 (23:50):
Hey, Speaking of TV, last night, episode three of the
Shards came out and I didn't get to watch it
because Alex wasn't with me and we have that role. Well,
you can't watch it without me, and you know that's
a bummer to see this. Well, I did nothing. I
went outside and just hung out and didn't have any music,
didn't have a phone, just hung up with the dogs.
(24:11):
It was nice.
Speaker 2 (24:12):
That soundslus.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
Do you ever ever go ahead and just watch something
and then when Alex comes you we just watch it
again and pretend you haven't seen it. I haven't done that,
but I'm considering it. It's like he's allergic to shrimp.
I feel like I'm cheating on him when I eat shrimp. Yeah,
because he can't. That would I feel I would feel
like I was cheating on him a little bit. Do
you anyone else?
Speaker 3 (24:34):
I agree? I won't do it, but Lois Sheldon will do.
Speaker 4 (24:37):
He'll start a show and then he'll go, oh, Danielle
would really like this show. So he'll stop watching it
until I can watch it with him because he knows
that I would.
Speaker 3 (24:46):
Like it, which I think is very sweet. That's a
nice thing to do, Cary.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
I do this with restaurants my girlfriend because we're such foodies.
And if I decide to go to a restaurant with you,
or like Nate or anybody else, and before I go
there with my girlfriend. I get a little I feel
guilty that I've gone through that restaurant and I've experienced
that food without her, So okay, I mean it purely
means you're going through life with someone, you'd like to
(25:11):
share things with them, right with that, but it's still
goneh He's like, Nah.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
We lived far apart.
Speaker 7 (25:18):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
We are on different timeframes and like different schedules, so
if I need to watch them', I'm gonna watch. Well,
that makes sense, but I have in the past rewound
it went all the way back to the beginning so
that it doesn't look like it's been watched.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
Yeah, because netflixs will tell on you. It's a little
red bar goes.
Speaker 4 (25:33):
No way, do you ever watch things on the phone together,
like if you want to watch a show together?
Speaker 1 (25:37):
No, hell no, I haven't done that, but thanks, thanks
for the suggestion. Yeah, you know you would have to
sync it up. Yeah, because I know that sometimes when
Alex and I fly side by side, we'll want to
watch the same movie on our screens, so it so
I make him do it. I mean, Alex sync them
up so we push play at the same time and
you see the same but his is always like a
(25:58):
beat off, you know, left to to the late or
to the ahead. Right. Yeah, so everyone, so you'll you'll
look over and cheat with their screen.
Speaker 2 (26:06):
And go God, exactly, that's we try to watch sporting
events together and that's terrible because one of us will
always be like ten to fifteen seconds ahead, so celebrating
and then ruining it for your one.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
So you know, God, these are the problems that really
are fir so devastating, right, these are first world problems. Hey,
do we have any games or something fun we can
get into.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
Maybe we could do a family feud. I feel like
we haven't done that in a long time.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
Argue, yes, we do, OK, how do we do this?
What do we do? We've done in a million times?
I don't even know how it works. You just go
to break, we come back and then we beat each
other up. Okay, let me come on.
Speaker 7 (26:38):
I listen to you guys every morning with tel Vister
ran in the Morning Show.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
Let's speak to you.
Speaker 7 (27:06):
Who are you, Elvis?
Speaker 1 (27:11):
We're talking about the Lakers selling to Bob Iger and
Josh Kushner for twelve and a half billion dollars. Look
at that, and there's no Lebron there is there? What's
going on? I wonder what's going on there? How much
would they pay if Lebron was there? I wonder? It's
(27:33):
so out of our league? Why don't even care? Oh gosh,
what's scary. Gotta get tickets to the opening game for
the Knicks, Knicks sixers at the Garden. Look did you
see the town? Oh my god. We gotta get tickets.
We gotta go. Okay, they're saying that the Knicks sixers
game at the Garden, the prices for those seats are
(27:54):
the same as the finals last year. Yes, yes, season. Absolutely,
Like there's Alex found seats for tens of thousands of
dollars for I mean this game.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
That is crazy.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
So yeah, I know. But it's exciting though, I mean,
none of us are gonna pay that kind of money.
You'll see that. But it's exciting that there's something thrilling
going on to the Garden. Other than a wedding, you know.
And it's ring day. They get their rings on that
day too. Is that at the gardeners? That in Philly garden?
Speaker 3 (28:19):
Is that the banner too?
Speaker 1 (28:20):
They picked all the good stuff happens on that day
from their championship. Can you imagine? You know, after we
pay fifteenth grad for the seats for the big game,
we're going to roll over to the West coast and
spend twelve and a half billion for the Lakers. Mat Hey,
speaking of someone won that billion plus power ball?
Speaker 2 (28:41):
It was powerball yesterday. Is somebody in Illinois? The cash
value over four hundred and fifty million dollars. It's the
largest power ball this year and the eighth largest in
history to one person.
Speaker 1 (28:53):
Yeah, I won fifteen dollars iron ball And uh so, yeah,
a lot of money, a lot of money talk going
on today. Isn't that crazy? Uh So we're getting into
the feud really?
Speaker 7 (29:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (29:08):
Do you really feel like I mean, we really kind
of yell and pick at each other all day long? Well,
why do we want to make a game out of it? Well?
You know this, this is a reason to yell and
pick at each other. How about that? Well, then here
you go whoa to the feud? We got two families.
Come on, Nate, spell it out. Okay, so the two
families that I'm gonna take the family immediately here next
(29:30):
to me, which is going to be Dan yelled, Gandhi
and Scary. Right, that's family number one? Froggy and Scottie Bee.
Oh where is Scotty Bee? Can you find Scotty Bee? Well,
he can't play family feud while he's pooping. He'll play
from the bowl. So Froggy and Scotty Bee, you're gonna
be with your big daddy, Elvis. How about that? Well, well,
(29:50):
hold on this. These teams are stacked. Yes, I think
this is very fair. Doesn't everybody that's me that was
placed for the other team. Yeah, you know, maybe you
should surprise us today, Elvis and play for your own team.
How about that? Scott Scotty's very good. If he's very good,
I'm gonna make Scotti the captain of your team. Hello,
(30:13):
Then I have less reason to be loyal. So the
first question on the big board, Scotti, B You're up
to bat first?
Speaker 6 (30:22):
Right?
Speaker 1 (30:22):
Five answers? We asked our massive studio audience here behind us,
name something A drunken guy might do just.
Speaker 10 (30:28):
Like a dog.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
Hmmm, uh, poop in the street? How atty drunken guys
have you seen do that? Scotty bee you okay, well
you'd be right the number one response or in the street.
So Elvis, what are we playing already? I'm assuming you
(30:50):
want to continue playing. I doubt you want to pass?
Do we want? You know what we're going to pass?
The strategy is the Scotty Scotty knows his game shows
all right, Okay, you're passing, Danielle, You're name something a
drunken guy might do just like a dog. Four answers
left on the board.
Speaker 3 (31:11):
Fall asleep outside on the street, fall.
Speaker 1 (31:14):
Asleep, yes, fall asleep on the floor on the streets,
somewhere that you don't normally fall asleep.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
How many answers are there are?
Speaker 1 (31:22):
Three left? Three left? Gandhi something a drunken guy might
do just like a dog?
Speaker 2 (31:26):
Hump something?
Speaker 1 (31:28):
Yes? Wow God For most popular response, I gotta do
that next time I drink. That sounds like fun on
the alcohol scary.
Speaker 12 (31:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:38):
Name something a drunken guy might do just like a dog.
Two answers left. You guys are on fire, I know,
gotta be puke puke. Yeah, show me puke. Wow, they
may sweep this.
Speaker 7 (31:52):
One.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
You got one, okay, you got one more left, but
I got the I've got the one that will win.
If you don't get this. No buzzers either, Danielle bark like, yeah,
you're right, hit that buzzer like, yeah, one left, Gandhi.
(32:17):
Name something a drunk guy might do, just like a
dog when he's drunk.
Speaker 2 (32:21):
Eat all the food, get the monchies, get the us.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
Is a good answer? Not sorry, scary? Oh my god,
to you. They're gonna steal this. Drunk people do I'm
gonna say, droolol Is that what you do when you
get drunk?
Speaker 3 (32:39):
Yes, when he's sober he does that.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
You'd be right.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
Wood job.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
You know, all the great answers were so so missing
from this. Your answer to what's the question again? Name
something a drunken guy might do just like a dog.
I would say, lick as balls?
Speaker 12 (33:05):
Do you do that?
Speaker 1 (33:06):
I should have been on there or you know, Okay,
ask the question again. Name something a drunken guy might
do just like a dog. Go to white Castle? Yeah, people,
you have all the wrong answers. Are these people you
you you talk to are just all stupid. I'm so sorry.
Your team is stupid.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
We did very well.
Speaker 1 (33:27):
I'm sorry. Did you call this team stupid or stupid?
Speaker 7 (33:30):
No?
Speaker 1 (33:30):
No did I You just said that. That's what Elvis said.
You guys are stupid. I didn't say we're stupid. They're stupid. Round,
we're not stupid. No, you're stupid. Do you want to
play a ye? Yes, because you're stupid.
Speaker 3 (33:49):
It's stupid, idiot, You're stupid.
Speaker 1 (33:53):
Stupid, stupid. All right, name a reason and stupid might
be one of the responses, don't people answers. It could
be I'm not saying that a woman isn't attracted to
a man. Six answers on the board.
Speaker 3 (34:12):
Okay, I'm gonna say bad breath, bad breath.
Speaker 1 (34:16):
Yep. However, the number four most popular response still name
a reason a woman isn't attracted to a man. Not
sure you can answer this question?
Speaker 8 (34:29):
What I'm what?
Speaker 1 (34:33):
You're gay? Aren't you gay? Okay? So what's the question again?
By the way, for the record, you are the worst
host ever that it's not a true game unless you
say that question. A woman isn't attracted to a man
because he stinks? Stinks? Not on there? Sorry, Sorry, stinking
(34:57):
wasn't all right? I guess see the people you pulled,
they're into stinky guys, so they tell you. So, you've
got five answers left? Are you playing or you pass?
Speaker 6 (35:07):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (35:08):
Play all right? Gandhi? Name of reason a woman isn't
attracted to a man? Look at Look at Froggy's yawning
and falling asleep over there. Froggy, stay alert. You got
to steal this there.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
Sorry, I want to say because he has a podcast,
but I'm not saying, oh, because he's.
Speaker 1 (35:25):
Ugly, Because he's ugly, show me ugly? Very good?
Speaker 9 (35:35):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (35:36):
Scary? Yeah. Why wouldn't a woman be attracted to a
man because he's fat? He's fat, he's heavy, he's heavy,
he's out of shape, he's out of shape.
Speaker 4 (35:48):
More adjectives, guys, Okay, Danielle, he's a bad dresser.
Speaker 1 (35:55):
Bad dresser. That's a good one. Yeah, that would be
good if it was on there, right on there, that
that should be on there. This is the bogus game
of you got four left? Shandhi. Why wouldn't a woman
be attracted to a man.
Speaker 2 (36:14):
He's married?
Speaker 1 (36:17):
Yeah, no, they like the attached fellas.
Speaker 2 (36:23):
We like fat married guys.
Speaker 1 (36:26):
You got an opportunity to steal here, guys, Okay, okay,
let's discuss it. He's gay or he's got a tiny
schle Yeah, he's he looks like a politician. I don't know, God,
I don't know. A woman isn't attracted to him. Man,
there's four left that you guys have. I got one
(36:46):
because he's poor, he has no money.
Speaker 2 (36:49):
Every answer is gonna be hurtful whatever.
Speaker 10 (36:53):
I like that.
Speaker 1 (36:54):
Scott he's got he's got no money or bad job whatever,
not having any money broke pretty good jobs on there. Wow,
Elvis actually came through us, So the answers you were missing. Creepy,
he's creepy, right like Scott's carry he's bald, yes, somewhere
like guys. And the number one response, he's short, short, shut.
(37:23):
I've got like four of those.
Speaker 2 (37:26):
It's a good thing you're gay.
Speaker 1 (37:29):
Believe it's gay. Guys are worse. All right, Well, it's
a tie. So I guess we all agree to disagree.
Speaker 3 (37:35):
All the show.
Speaker 1 (37:36):
We all love each other. Good job, good job, and
here you go. All right, so hey, we have actually
heard from our friend Paul who went on that date
last night or to that dating event. Maybe we'll get
him on coming up. We have a thousand dollar free
money phone tap coming like fifteen twenty thirty minutes whatever.
Whenever he gets here, it happens.
Speaker 7 (37:52):
I ever wondered what we look like.
Speaker 1 (37:54):
Do you think I look in bread?
Speaker 13 (37:55):
I do.
Speaker 12 (37:56):
Follow us on Instagram at Elvis Duran show us to
ran in the Morning Show.
Speaker 14 (38:01):
Thank you guys.
Speaker 2 (38:02):
I love you and I listened to you every day
on my way to work.
Speaker 1 (38:05):
You guys are awesome.
Speaker 11 (38:06):
I mean everyone is hilarious.
Speaker 9 (38:08):
They talk about you guys like your friends.
Speaker 7 (38:09):
Good morning.
Speaker 12 (38:10):
I love you.
Speaker 7 (38:11):
This is Elvis Duran in the Morning Show.
Speaker 1 (38:14):
I love a good saga. I love a good story
that keeps going. So yesterday morning we spoke with It
was yesterday, wasn't it. Yes, Yes, we spoke with our
friend Paul, our listener Paul in Pembrooke Pines, Florida, and
he was so excited and nervous about a singles dinner
he was going to attend last night, and we said,
(38:36):
you know, in this great conversation, I mean, there was
so much to the conversation, but we all agreed at
the end of the conversation, if he wanted to he
would get in touch with us today to let us
know how the dinner went. So Paul is here and
we're ready to spill the tea with Paul. Hi, Paul,
good morning, welcome back for day two.
Speaker 8 (38:56):
Good morning, good morning, good morning.
Speaker 2 (38:58):
You sound tired?
Speaker 1 (38:59):
Yeah, okay, let's not jump to you, Paul. Guys, guys, guys, really,
can you please try to be polite? For one, when
Nate called you, Paul, the first thing out of his
mind went hello, Paul, are you waking up alone? Can
we please? Can we please? So, Paul, you went to
(39:22):
this singles dinner list and you you were definitely anxious
over this. Tell us how it rolled out for you.
Speaker 8 (39:29):
I was definitely anxious, and the day actually was rolling
out very How do you say I? How do you
say this? I have my work earlier in the day,
and they gave me this. I'm I'm a carpenter. So
they gave me this really difficult job job to do
upfittering Jupiter, which is like an hour and a half
(39:50):
north of where the actual dinner was supposed to be.
And it turns out that that it became more complicated
than it was supposed to. And I planned my day
that I was supposed to have dinner, and I told
my boss and I actually showed up to the tender
twenty minutes late, and I was like, I was practically devastated.
I was like, I'm so sorry guys that I'm here
and here. So they were really happy. They they they
(40:13):
were very I don't know what the word is. They
were coming in comedy.
Speaker 1 (40:19):
Okay, so is funny my brand entrance pretty then you did?
Isn't funny? How we always make it seem like it's
going to be worse than it really turns out to be.
Speaker 8 (40:29):
Of course, of course, because trust me, I was pissed off.
I was like, I'm not gonna they're not gonna let
me in. I'm gonna be late.
Speaker 1 (40:35):
Okay, so you're you're lathered up. So you get there
and they welcome you. So what's the mode and the mood? Like,
how many other guys are there? What's set the table?
Speaker 10 (40:46):
Set?
Speaker 8 (40:46):
Set set the table. We were at this very nice
Italian restaurant that had over the head, over the priced pasta.
There's about six other people there, which.
Speaker 1 (40:56):
Was very nice.
Speaker 8 (40:57):
The age demographic was very mixed. I think like the
oldest person was in his sixties and the youngest person
was in their thirties. I'm thirty nine, so it was
a very mixed age, which I'm perfectly fine with. I
love mixing around. But it was very nice. We had
great conversation. Uh, I learned about different people. We a
(41:18):
lot of them came from different areas. Some of them
were from Jersey, some of them were from New York.
Another person was from Georgia.
Speaker 1 (41:24):
So we had that.
Speaker 8 (41:25):
Chemistry of wanting to either move further north. I would
like to move further north and get and get out
of South Florida heat. That they were saying how they
wanted to come down to South Florida because they wanted
to get out of the neat the the New Jersey
weather that was too cold. So we had that conversation
going on. I was actually very happy that politics never
(41:46):
came up. That was that was really nice.
Speaker 1 (41:47):
That's yeah, all right.
Speaker 2 (41:49):
That's so.
Speaker 1 (41:50):
Was there any particular person you clicked with more than
the others?
Speaker 10 (41:54):
Possibly?
Speaker 3 (41:55):
Oh, okay, tell Paul do tail.
Speaker 8 (41:58):
There there was there There was one person on the
other side of the table and he was definitely making
eyes at me. I was making eyes eyes at him.
So we had that chemistry. We had a good conversation,
I will say, which I appreciate. Which I appreciated, And
it was because it was my first time there, and
I told everyone, this is my first dinner. All the
other gentlemen that were there, they had had many dinners
(42:21):
prior prior, prior to me. My running joke with them
was I was the virgin at the table. They had
had plenty, Yes, exactly, they had had plenty of dinners.
They pretty much had like their groups. So the gentleman
that I was making eyes with across the table, he
(42:42):
had been there several times before. And like, what I'm
trying to get at is that I didn't really exchange numbers,
or no one really exchanges numbers with me, because I
was a virgin at the table. I was the first one,
So they didn't really have any kind of chemistry to
go off of of like, oh, we like this guy, yet,
we don't like this guy yet, even the even and
(43:07):
the guy I made eyes at, which I'm perfectly fine
with because it was the first dinner. So I even
told them, I'm going to be doing this every weekend
from now.
Speaker 1 (43:14):
I love this.
Speaker 8 (43:14):
You guys are our great group. Even if I don't
connect it back with you guys. The app that I
use at the end of the dinner, it tells you
who did you like, who did you didn't like, how
was the experience, how was the restaurant, and you just
go down the list and Okay, I swiped right on
that person.
Speaker 1 (43:32):
Okay, that's good. A right, so good. So it's not
like you walked out with a total loss. There's still
a connection through the app and through the organization of everything.
So I mean, when you were sitting there and hanging
out with these guys, did you feel yourself becoming more
and more at ease with the concept of meeting people
like this.
Speaker 5 (43:50):
Oh?
Speaker 8 (43:51):
Yes, most most definitely. And the beginning I stay secluded
in my little bubble. But as conversations started opening up,
I was like, oh, you guys talk about co try, Oh,
you guys talk about this and that. Oh it started.
I compared myself to them, and I was like, oh,
I could talk about this stuff. Yeah, I know a
lot about this stuff. And that's when my Yeah, that's
when I started opening up and I had things to
(44:13):
talk about with them, and yeah, it was nice.
Speaker 10 (44:15):
I felt included.
Speaker 2 (44:17):
I know you were looking for a potential Zaddy type
person did that work out? Was this the person that
you found?
Speaker 10 (44:25):
No?
Speaker 8 (44:26):
Oh, she actually was Addy. I don't think we understood
the conversation yesterday. Yesterday I said in my earlier years,
I liked that I was looking for a quote daddy figure.
Nowadays in my older in my older age, yes, older
is my preferred age area. But I don't I'm not
(44:49):
looking for a daddy.
Speaker 2 (44:50):
Okay, okay, thank you for clearing that up.
Speaker 10 (44:53):
Yet.
Speaker 1 (44:53):
We love a good clarification there, Paul, Ye, you're fine. Well, well,
I'm glad that the through the app that you can
you can remain in contact. It's not a lost night. Yeah,
and uh, you know that's that's good. And so are
you looking forward to doing this again? Do you find
yourself at ease enough to be able to walk into
another room like this and do it?
Speaker 9 (45:13):
Oh?
Speaker 8 (45:14):
Most definitely, most definitely right. I would definitely love to
do it again, either with yeah, definitely, thank you, thank you,
with this established app or a different one like that.
I don't know if I want to pay sixty dollars
for positive again.
Speaker 1 (45:28):
But you know, we'll see. Yeah, Okay, you know, at
the end of the day, it's just it's water and
flower so I get you all right, this is good. See,
if I was in your position, Paul, I would be terrified.
I wouldn't be able to do what you did. So
as anxious as you were, going in, congratulations you did.
You did a lot compared to a lot of people
like me would have a problem doing that. Plus you
(45:49):
walked into a kind of a hive of people that
already were familiar with each other. That's another thing going,
oh great, these people do know each other. But this
is the questions.
Speaker 8 (45:58):
They pretty much knew each other, me walking and blind o,
the Hi, I'm the outsider.
Speaker 10 (46:03):
Nice.
Speaker 1 (46:04):
But the fact that they all knew each other is
still they still were going to the app to get together,
so they're still open for new people obviously.
Speaker 2 (46:11):
So I think that's one of the most important things
to do in life in general, is be the new
kid somewhere. Keep trying it, because you learn a lot
about yourself that way.
Speaker 8 (46:20):
One of the gentlemen that I had a conversation with
he said, and I don't want to say anything about
the app because they do help us learn that, they
do help us find new friends. He was like, if
we see we'll have a good dinner that we won't
have a good dinner. If we have that good dinner,
then we'll just privately, like get in touch with all
those people and we'll and we'll we'll put a group
(46:44):
together on our own cell phones and stuff, and then
we'll anytime we go out together.
Speaker 1 (46:52):
Well, I mean, look, you know, you go into these
things with the intention of looking for that special person,
But isn't it great just to make friends and then
from that friend circle, Well, then you can find more
people in the pool to connect with, you know, And
I think that's a way to do it. It trolled
dinner from an app. All right, there you go. I
love hearing the outcome from last night. I hope you
(47:14):
continue to do things like this, Paul. It sounds like
you're great at it.
Speaker 8 (47:17):
Actually I do too, And I honestly was shocked that
your listeners were like, oh, I want to know how
Paul's do how Paul's doing, because honestly, I've been single
my entire life. I'm thirty nine, So to get that
positive feedback of other people wanting to know how my
life is going, it was definitely a nice thing to hear.
Speaker 1 (47:38):
Well, you know, first of all, we all want to
make sure you weren't murdered or anything crazy. Yeah, right,
that's always a plus. But you know, also, but one
final question for you, how do you rate how you
did last night walking into this this situation. How do
you think you did? Did you do better than you
thought you would do?
Speaker 8 (47:57):
I definitely thought I did better than I thought I
did because, like, because, like I said, I was showing
up late. My entire day was like, Oh, they're not
gonna let me in. I'm showing up late. So I
I was already at like a five, and I wanted
to be at an eight. But when I walked in
and they welcomed me in with open arms and we
exchanged names and stuff, and I sat down, my shoulders relaxed,
(48:18):
and I was like, oh, okay, I like this good.
And then I started opening up and talking and I
was like, okay, yeah, this is an eight.
Speaker 5 (48:25):
I like this.
Speaker 8 (48:25):
I mean, I didn't find the one, so it wasn't
the ten.
Speaker 1 (48:28):
But I know, but you felt you did great. You
felt you feel good about walking out, You felt satisfied,
satisfied with the night.
Speaker 8 (48:36):
You're good, yes, yes, yes, And the food actually was
very good. It's just I'm not paying fifty five dollars for.
Speaker 2 (48:44):
The company though, right, not the pasta.
Speaker 1 (48:46):
Yeah, yeah, there you go. All right, he's bothered by
the pasta. That's the third mention of the pasta companys, Gandhi,
what's up?
Speaker 2 (48:55):
Has this changed Diamond's opinion at all about attending a
singles event for herself?
Speaker 1 (49:00):
Let's go go and ask her. She's right behind you, Hello, Diamond, Hi, Yeah?
Does this change? Hearing how Paul went from anxious to
okay about this? How would you consider it?
Speaker 5 (49:11):
No?
Speaker 2 (49:12):
Well, you know, I'm happy for you, Paul, but no, no,
it's still.
Speaker 1 (49:20):
Enough, okay, you dog, all right? All right, well, Paul,
thank you so much. We appreciate it. And stay in
touch with this. Let us know how you're doing.
Speaker 8 (49:28):
Okay, of course, of course, let everyone know that I
did really well. If they could hear me that it
did really well. So because they can hear you, Paul, I.
Speaker 1 (49:37):
Heard you say that. That's that's the most important thing.
All right, Paul, thank you so much. Go go have
a great day, keep on listening. Okay, alright, thank you,
love you more, and you have Diamond to the point.
Speaker 3 (49:47):
No, yeah, all right, I.
Speaker 4 (49:50):
Really think Paul would have been okay with the price
of the pasta if he had gotten something.
Speaker 3 (49:54):
Maybe.
Speaker 1 (50:00):
I agree with Yeah, that was the best money ever
spent on. All right, let's get into the three things
we need to know. Gandhi, what's going on?
Speaker 7 (50:08):
All right?
Speaker 2 (50:09):
Iran is blocking the Straight of Hormuves until the US
accepts all of its conditions. Iranian authorities made the claim
yesterday after President Trump said the US had total control
of the oil shipping lane. Both sides are calling for
reparations from the other. C NBC says data from a
trade intelligence firm shows traffic through hor Moves is at
its lowest level since May. The analysis said just over
(50:30):
a dozen ships passed through the Straight of Hormves on Tuesday,
compared to the daily average of one hundred and thirty
ships in February. A Massachusetts teen is accused of killing
his mother and younger brother, and investigators are looking into
the possible role that AI played in these murders. Police
in the town of Acton, just outside of Boston, said
that they arrested a seventeen year old after his mother
(50:52):
and fourteen year old brother were found dead inside their
home Tuesday night. Middlesex District Attorney Marion Ryan says the
teen had been using the Internet and chat GPT to
make searches for theoretical ideas, and finally, I feel like Elvis,
this one's specifically for you. Italy. Yeah, famous Parmisano reggiano
cheese is so valuable that a bank actually accepts wheels
(51:14):
of it as loan collateral, but climate change is now
putting that system under strain. For decades, the bank has
loaned money to dairy farmers using young cheese wheels as security,
aging them in climate controlled vaults until they're ready to sell.
I had no idea. One vault alone holds more than
half a million wheels worth over three hundred and forty
(51:34):
million dollars.
Speaker 1 (51:36):
Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (51:37):
Yeah, but we know that Europe has had a really
hot summer, and the record heat waves have made keeping
all that cheese cool much more expensive, driving daily energy
use up about thirty percent. The heat is also hurting
the cows themselves, since they eat less and produce up
to ten percent less milk when it's too hot. So
experts say the damage stretches beyond cheese, hitting Italy's vineyards
and olive groves too, with delayed and hidden costs. Ripplings
(52:00):
through the whole economy. It's crazy and those are your
three things.
Speaker 1 (52:04):
Hey, we'll always have Pecerino, you know, thank for the Pekerino.
We got a thousand dollars free money phone tap on
the way.
Speaker 7 (52:14):
Serial Killers a podcast for Cereal lovers.
Speaker 1 (52:17):

Speaker 1 (52:23):

Speaker 7 (52:24):
Elvista ran in the morning show the free money phone tap.
Speaker 1 (52:38):
Let's get into that free money phone tap. It's worth
a thousand dollars thanks to our friends. That Eminem's popped Caramel.
All right, who's hoarding the pop Caramel?
Speaker 9 (52:48):
Well?
Speaker 1 (52:48):
I know, but who's hoarding? I know because I know
they sent over bags and bags.
Speaker 2 (52:52):
Of that stuff and it's been ravaged as well.
Speaker 1 (52:56):
Yeah, oh you left stuff in the pit.
Speaker 2 (52:59):
Left taken.
Speaker 3 (53:00):
I'm not sure Nate has bag somewhere.
Speaker 1 (53:03):
He won't tell us how to squirrel them away. Well,
it shows you how much we all love Eminem's Pop Caramel,
and you will become addicted as well. They're teaming up,
of course with us at iHeartRadio to send two people
to the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas in September.

the fact that we're all crunching into the Eminem's pop
Caramel they fun freeze dried snack. This is really the
first of its type I've ever had. I love them,
the kind of crispy, kind of airy. I mean, can
(53:48):
you really describe it as well as it deserves? I mean,
eating it is one thing, you know, you really have
to try it.
Speaker 2 (53:56):
Describe it like a freeze dride cookie, right, like a
nice Christmas.
Speaker 1 (54:00):
That's one way of putting it.
Speaker 3 (54:02):
But it really is crunchy in area is really a
good way to describe it, because that's.
Speaker 6 (54:06):
What it is.
Speaker 1 (54:07):
Well, here's what I want you to do. I want
you to go out and get a bag, at least
one bag of Eminem's Pop Caramel with that will be
a mistake not getting several. But get one bag of
Eminem's pop Caramel, take it home or on the way home,
eat it, and then text us and let us know
how you describe it. Okay, maybe you'll be better at
it than us. So thanks to Eminem's Pop Caramel, you're
winning one thousand dollars now with a free money phone
tap be called a one hundred and eight hundred two
(54:30):
four to two zero one hundred don't answer.
Speaker 7 (54:32):
The phone, Elvis durand Elvis Duran phone tab.
Speaker 1 (54:36):
I was listening to this phone tap earlier. I can't
believe she's allowing us to play this scary Tell everyone
what it's all about. Jacqueline wanted to phone tap her roommate,
and we've blocked out her name because she's a teacher
and her roommate has gotten a little cavalier with her
attitude during the school year because she got tenure recently.
So Jacqueline, here we go.
Speaker 8 (54:54):
Hello.
Speaker 6 (54:56):
Are you in your lunch break?
Speaker 9 (54:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 14 (54:58):
Yeah, I just w No.
Speaker 7 (55:00):
I was calling because our parents called for you at
the house.
Speaker 5 (55:05):
Well they called they were.
Speaker 11 (55:06):
Who called for me?
Speaker 8 (55:08):
I'm one of the relatives of one of your students.
Speaker 10 (55:11):
I can't remember.
Speaker 14 (55:12):
It was like, how did they get them moan over
the house?
Speaker 1 (55:15):
They were actually complaining about you.
Speaker 6 (55:17):
I guess they were just talking about how sometimes they
can see.
Speaker 14 (55:20):
Your tell t Yeah, no, are you giving me right now.
Speaker 7 (55:25):
No, actually, I gave them your number, so they're probably
going to follow you on your cell.
Speaker 14 (55:30):
But I wonder why did you give this person my
phone number?
Speaker 1 (55:34):
Because I think if the students complaining about your behavior,
I think you're still a student complaining.
Speaker 14 (55:40):
It's the brother of the uncle is a friend of
whoever the is. You still have a reputation to uphold.
You still work at a school, You're still a role
model to these kids.
Speaker 1 (55:48):
Or did you forget all that?
Speaker 14 (55:50):
No? I don't forget all that. What are you my
mother all of a sudden Jesus, No, I know when
these kids learn more from me than they do at home.
Speaker 9 (55:57):
So okay, like, uh, don't sho's a messenger.
Speaker 4 (56:00):
Okay, I'm just selling you what happened.
Speaker 7 (56:02):
I understand.
Speaker 1 (56:03):
Okay, you already know I'm.
Speaker 14 (56:04):
A piece of too. See you always say this, you're
a substitute teacher.
Speaker 1 (56:08):
I'm I'm talking to you, all right.
Speaker 14 (56:09):
I just know that I've got the relatives.
Speaker 7 (56:11):
We're gonna call you and that, Oh my god, did
you hear her? She's gonna hate me.
Speaker 1 (56:19):
I'm gonna get it already, know all right? Cool, I'm
gonna call her back. You listening it.
Speaker 9 (56:23):
Right, okay, all right, Hello, Hi, I'm looking.
Speaker 1 (56:28):
For missus please.
Speaker 7 (56:30):
This is her.
Speaker 1 (56:31):
My name is Dennis, and my nephew Gary. She is
actually a student in your class. I don't mean to
interrupt you in your private time here.
Speaker 14 (56:41):
I guess your MS my phone, aren't you? Yeah, so
you're interrupting me. Okay, I'm sorry. How did you? How
did you get this phone number?
Speaker 1 (56:47):
I did a Google search for you found it?
Speaker 14 (56:49):
U found my phone number came on Google search, Well,
the whole number did.
Speaker 1 (56:53):
And I got your roommate from the office, and.
Speaker 14 (56:54):
You can get a hold of my office phone number
and you can reach me through this.
Speaker 1 (56:58):
I explain what happened here, though, I mean, while I
have you on the phone. My nephew decided that he's
going to get a tattoo now based on the cobra
that he saw on the side of your rib cage.
So I just wanted to know how he could have
seen a tattoo of a cobra on your ribcage, because
now I have to explain to him why he can't
have a tattoo.
Speaker 14 (57:15):
Explain anything to you. First of all, I'm not walking
around unclothed in school, so it doesn't really matter.
Speaker 1 (57:22):
I also understand that you have a nose ring, right,
And I'm.
Speaker 14 (57:25):
Sorry, is this going somewhere because I don't understand the
point of this conversation and I am completely offended that
you were calling my cell phone and before this you called.
Speaker 1 (57:34):
My home phone. Well, as a teacher here.
Speaker 14 (57:36):
You need to get to the point or do you
need to go through the mid ministry.
Speaker 1 (57:39):
I can't believe I'm speaking with a teacher right now.
I mean, what the parents are saying about you is true.
I could see it's all true. I don't know the
fact that you just got tenure there, so you think
you're all that and that you don't have to really
give much effort into the school system.
Speaker 14 (57:53):
I give effort. Kids are learning, and probably more than
I can say for any of the people that they.
Speaker 8 (57:59):
Live with at home.
Speaker 1 (58:00):
Students will talk about you, you know.
Speaker 14 (58:02):
What, they do talk about me because I'm awesome.
Speaker 1 (58:05):
You sit there and you say hoodie, you wear sneakers.
How do you expect the students to respect you. It's
almost like you're trying to be their friend.
Speaker 14 (58:12):
Trying to that That's exactly how they start to learn,
That's exactly how they get good grades.
Speaker 1 (58:16):
Seems like you fell off the wagon this year, because
as soon as you got your tenure you pretty much
hung it up and said, you know what, I'm just
going to come in every day.
Speaker 14 (58:23):
And I'm going to be allous for you to be
talking to me this way.
Speaker 1 (58:26):
I'm a concerned parent. I'm a tax payer.
Speaker 14 (58:29):
Parent though you just told me you weren't pair and
you're like a cousin of.
Speaker 9 (58:31):
An uncle of somebody I live and it's my.
Speaker 1 (58:34):
Tax dollars that go toward your salary. Okay, So don't
make me come through this phone right now. I will
have your job.
Speaker 9 (58:41):
No, you won't have my job.
Speaker 14 (58:43):
I'm not teaching math. I'm not teaching numbers. I'm representing humanity.
Speaker 1 (58:47):
Maybe you should think of a career change.
Speaker 14 (58:49):
You should think of a life change and get one.
Speaker 1 (58:52):
Instead of calling the principal, I'm just gonna call Jacqueline.
How about that. I hear she's a better teacher than
you are.
Speaker 14 (58:57):
What are you talking about?
Speaker 1 (59:00):
This is scary Jones Meloster ran in the Morning show
What oh you guys are really funny.
Speaker 14 (59:07):
And by the way, I actually do love teaching. What
makes my job difficult is all the budget cuts going
on and people calling me telling me how to do
my job.
Speaker 1 (59:18):
There you go, another satisfied, pissed off customer on the
morning show. Uh, there you go. Worth one thousand dollars.
That was Who did that phone tap? I did?
Speaker 6 (59:30):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (59:30):
Scary so so remember, so memorable.
Speaker 6 (59:33):
I love.
Speaker 1 (59:34):
Let's go talk to Julia. Julia, your caller one hundred.
You want one thousand dollars worth a free money phone tab?
Speaker 7 (59:41):

Wow, oh wow, that is so cool. Well, you know,
congratulations to you and your husband.
Speaker 11 (01:01:00):

but it is with you, and that's that's really cool.

is the country's most popular.
Speaker 7 (01:03:19):
Top hour Elvis Duran in the morning show.
Speaker 1 (01:03:27):
Well well, well, and we all gather together on this
beautiful summer day and to do the thing we do,
which is this. This is this hey by the Global
Citizen again coming back to New York's Central Park September
twenty sixth. We uh, we're going to make them the
official announcement in an hour, So I really don't want to,
you know, give it out. You know who's going to
be there, because it's to be a big deal in
an hour, right at an announcement. Well, you could make
(01:03:49):
it now. I mean technically it has been released as
really six minutes ago. But we're going to talk to
the big head honcho in charge of it in about
an hour. Okay, Well, then, so I guess I was
I felt like really crafty because I was going to
give the list out early, but you know, sometimes speaking
less is more. Wine rewhine, all right, number that we'll
(01:04:11):
get to that in an hour. It is summertime, by
the way, and I was telling everyone during the song.
Last night, I went outside, sat by the pool, didn't
have any music on, barely had any lights on, and
just listened to the sounds of summer. So as I'm
sitting there having a glass of wine, I'm thinking, God,
the sounds of summer. They are a universal thing for
(01:04:33):
all of us. Right, Yeah, when you hear them, you
know it summertime. There was the Katie, did you know
what I'm saying? And then there's that what's the thing
that's going? And then there's the old crickets. It's hard
(01:04:55):
for me to do a cricket, But here's the cricket.
Can anyone do a cricket? That's hard? That Nate can
and it works. While a frog will come up?
Speaker 10 (01:05:06):
Oh did anyone do a frog?
Speaker 1 (01:05:11):
They don't really rib it, do they? Who's doing that?
That's me? Do it again?
Speaker 3 (01:05:20):
Okay, that's pretty good.
Speaker 1 (01:05:23):
Well, that's as close as.
Speaker 10 (01:05:24):
We can get.
Speaker 1 (01:05:24):
Froggy. Let's just be positive. Come on, now, they don't
say rib it. They go what Okay, all right, we
get it. We get a great job, better than the
rest of us. So okay, So Nate's on the cricket,
Scary is on the frog. Who's doing.
Speaker 14 (01:05:41):
You?
Speaker 1 (01:05:41):
Okay, you do that, and I'll do that. But Danielle,
I gotta be honest, she's not great at it. Impersonating creatures.
The only impersonation she does well, she does do she
does Elmo, which we don't need in the Sounds of
Summer in summer. No, no, not at all. But you
(01:06:02):
also the other one. Only there's a sound effect you
can do is a siren. Yeah, but there could be
a fire truck in the summer time and the Bronx.
Speaker 4 (01:06:10):
When everybody opened up the uh Johnny pumps fire fire
hydrants so they could get the water out so they
could have like a nice little splash.
Speaker 3 (01:06:18):
Then the fire would come and shut it down. So
it's a perfect sound of summer for the Bronx.
Speaker 1 (01:06:24):
So why don't we start the Sounds of Summer here
with our morning show Sounds of Summer chorus? Okay, but
hold off, hold off on the siren until we get
nice in a status.
Speaker 3 (01:06:35):
Okay, you know there is one more one more sound
of summer. You're forgetting.
Speaker 1 (01:06:39):
We don't have room for another one.
Speaker 3 (01:06:40):
What is this one?
Speaker 1 (01:06:43):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:06:43):
I'm wrapping saltwater taffy.
Speaker 1 (01:06:45):
Okay, get that out of here. It has to be
made by the mouth. Oh okay, okay, you have to
use your boosh. Use your boosh our mouth band. All right,
here we go to set, ladies and gentlemen, the sounds
of summer with the elves dre in sounds of summer chorus.
All right, here we go. What Froggy, what are you doing?
(01:07:08):
I didn't get a sound one that goes. He has to.
It has to come from him. What sound of summer
do you have? I'll do the whatever the sound Scary
was making? Whatever the heck sound? Your name is? Hold on?
Your name is frog? Scary? Did it better frog than me?
I did the ribbit? You said they don't make ribbits?
(01:07:29):
Can you make a bird whistle.
Speaker 10 (01:07:30):
Like a like a morning?
Speaker 1 (01:07:33):
I'm thinking night time? You don't really hear those at night?
All right, sorry, I have away in my head. It
has to go at night. Okay.
Speaker 6 (01:07:44):
You know what we have?
Speaker 1 (01:07:45):
We have bats flying by it. I got a tax
by bat yesterday.
Speaker 7 (01:07:50):
Back.
Speaker 1 (01:07:50):
They're great, all right, all right, So what are you
gonna be? We gotta get this done. I'll do the owl.
I'll be the owl. All right, ladies and gentlemen, the
sounds of summer three two one go wait, hold on, no,
(01:08:13):
one's going hold on. We sorry, okay, oh here comes
here comes the fire truck. Oh god, you're right all right,
(01:08:42):
stop stop stopping. What are we doing? Carry stop it?
Stop it scary? Any way, that was the loudest frigging funk.
Speaker 3 (01:08:52):
Was like, oh my god, I think we nailed it.
That was good.
Speaker 2 (01:08:59):
Somewhere in the.
Speaker 1 (01:09:01):
Textor just said, what about the lawnmower.
Speaker 15 (01:09:04):
Talk?
Speaker 1 (01:09:05):
You can do a lawnmower or a leaf blower. You're
so proud about the ice cream man. Oh yeah, well no, no,
we don't play that on our show. That that's not
(01:09:25):
the sound of our ice cream truck. Scary, scary, hands off,
hands off, mister softy, not allowed because it gives you
people diarrhea. Let me get rid of that, all right.
All right. So someone said they didn't hear cicadas or crickets.
We gave you cicadas, We gave you crickets.
Speaker 2 (01:09:42):
Yeah, they were just overpowered by the large frog.
Speaker 1 (01:09:44):
The fox, the frog as usual, trying to take it.
Speaker 2 (01:09:48):
All really took over.
Speaker 1 (01:09:50):
There comes a siren. I don't know the Cicadas so
what you were talking about this during the song, getting
ready for the big chorus, and this one said, Oh God,
remember that that artist we all love? The nicest guy
in music, John Cicada. Isn't it? Isn't it? Scicata?
Speaker 9 (01:10:09):
It is?
Speaker 8 (01:10:10):
I thought it was.
Speaker 1 (01:10:14):
The nicest guy. He is on tour. He's going to
be in Mexico and Rio de Janeiro, Wow, Brazil. He's everywhere.
He is everywhere except for where we are, John Cicada,
Do we agree the nicest guy? Don't you remember the songs?
Speaker 2 (01:10:34):
Oh god, Nate is dancing here, he goes.
Speaker 1 (01:10:36):
Do you remember the song Gandhi before Your Time?
Speaker 7 (01:10:39):
Not totally, but.
Speaker 1 (01:10:42):
I heard this song in publics the other night. Oh
I love Public's music. Whoever's owned the ones and twos?
I think he lives in Miami though he's on tour
about it. He listens to why one point seven? Doesn't
he he does?
Speaker 11 (01:10:57):
What did he tell you?
Speaker 1 (01:10:57):
One time?
Speaker 13 (01:10:58):
He told us that when this, when he heard this song,
then why for the very first time, That's when he
knew he made it.
Speaker 1 (01:11:06):
Hearing. Yeah, okay, if you want to remember John Cicada,
this is like modern Yadra. All right, so we'll let
(01:11:26):
we'll let John Sicata be the cicada. And now back
to the summer sounds. Here we go, Oh, here the craig.
Speaker 15 (01:11:40):
Alright, alright, alright, I think we are the future in
this now.
Speaker 1 (01:12:00):
I don't think we have a future at all. Anything.
Speaker 2 (01:12:05):
The silent siren really brings it home, Thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:12:08):
Ruddy could do a good cicada. So we played John Scicata.
But the sounds of summer, I mean, don't you just
love it? Don't you just love those sounds? I just
love them, you know. We actually, uh, last summer, we
had a bullfrog in the backyard. And of course Alex,
who just grew up, you know, with all sorts of
frogs and snakes in his basement as a kid, He's like,
we got to go find that bullfrog because we're nowhere
(01:12:29):
near water. We got to take it to water. Our
neighbors have a pond, so we were going to take
the bullfrog across to the pond, let it loose, just
you know, appearing on their property without asking if we could,
if we could come on to their private property and
let the wouldn't you love a bullfrog on your property?
Speaker 2 (01:12:47):
It sounds like you have a new pet, you know.
Speaker 1 (01:12:50):
It's it's better if you just let them do their things.
I remember when I first moved to the country, we
had wild turkeys. I thought it was a woman screaming
for help in my backyard. It sounds like, oh, yeah, yeah, here,
yeah you do. I moved from the city to get
away from the sounds of women screaming to a.
Speaker 10 (01:13:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:13:12):
I don't know. So so there's just another day talking
about summer. Sound. Yeah, I don't want summer sounds to
go away. I love them. I love summer, and I
think we just we just captured summer, so well bailed it.
Who else is doing this for a living today? Answer that?
All right? Go almost payday? What are we getting paid for?
(01:13:33):
What could you just heard that?
Speaker 2 (01:13:37):
The mosquitos?
Speaker 1 (01:13:45):
All right, all right, we're gonna move on into the
three things we need to know, Gandhi, what's going on?
Speaker 7 (01:13:49):
All right?
Speaker 2 (01:13:49):
Rescue efforts in western Colombia continue today. The death toll
from Monday's catastrophic seven point four magnitude earthquake has risen
to two hundred and sixty five with nearly five hundred
people still missing. Yes, it is tragic, thankfully though there
were three thousand people missing and now that numbers down
to five hundred. So some people are being found and
dug out of rubble. International search teams are on the
(01:14:10):
ground using cranes and heavy equipment to dig through flattened
buildings in the hardest hit cities. Local officials say they
are still detecting signs of life beneath the rubble and
are desperately racing against the clock to save them. The
Red Cross is on the ground there. Redcross dot org
if you can donate. Social media is on trial. It
started with the beginning of jury selection Wednesday in California
(01:14:30):
in a trial against Meta, after a US appeals court
declined to dismiss thousands of online safety lawsuits against major
social media companies. The lawsuits we know allege platforms owned
by companies like Meta and TikTok encourage addictive behavior, fail
to properly verify users age, and do not do enough
to protect users from harmful content. Meta says collective penalties
(01:14:53):
being sought by four state attorneys general could total more
than one point four trillion dollars. And finally, speaking of
a big amounts of money, a witning ticket was sold
in Illinois for wednesday Nights billion dollar powerball drawing. That
massive jackpot has a cash value of more than four
hundred and fifty million dollars. One ticket sold in Massachusetts
and it ended up being worth two million bucks. There
(01:15:15):
were million dollar winners also sold in Arizona, California, North Carolina,
and Florida. And those are your three things.
Speaker 1 (01:15:22):
Hey, did you hear the story yesterday about Luigi Mangioni
in what could happen with him in his trial is
murder trial?
Speaker 2 (01:15:31):
Which part of it?
Speaker 1 (01:15:32):
Well, they're saying that there may be a plea bargain.
They so he would get less than life in prison,
possibly because it could move from the federal to the local,
I don't know, generic state to state and there could
be a double jeopardy thing going on with his trial.
So he may get off in this murder case with
(01:15:56):
like I said, less than life in prison, definitely less
death in prison. Yeah, so you never know he could
be out at.
Speaker 2 (01:16:05):
Some point, right, wow, And we don't know exactly what
the What would he do?
Speaker 7 (01:16:10):
Is that?
Speaker 2 (01:16:10):
What you said?
Speaker 10 (01:16:12):
Well?
Speaker 1 (01:16:12):
Yeah, what would one do if Oh, well, I was
supposed to maybe be in life, in prison for life,
but now I do to do? I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:16:20):
I mean I think honestly, if that guy gets out,
he is going to have a TV show, a modeling contract,
a fragrance, well, his own restaurant.
Speaker 1 (01:16:30):
Yeah, if he gets out, I think it will be
quite a while from now. So what will happen though?
If this plea thing works, it'll go from being a
jury trial to just a judge trial. But also if
it's going to the state, they can introduce they can
introduce the way he was feeling, the way, the way
he was upset at what he thinks is a corrupt
situation with insurance companies in big insurance fraud and this
(01:16:53):
and that, and which they would not allow on the
federal level. Right, So it could be a whole different
story for this guy. So just keeping informed, all right.
So I saw to just light in the room a
little bit.
Speaker 2 (01:17:05):
Yeah, I'm listen. I'm invested in these trials. I want
to see everything that happens, everything that goes on. I
know that they're going to allow a spillover room. And
then the trial for the guy who allegedly killed. Charlie
Kirk is about to get going as well.
Speaker 1 (01:17:19):
Right, there's that going on. And plus you know, if
Luigi Mangioni goes down to a state trial, then they
can televise it at that point. Probably isn't it federal?
I don't know so much going on. I mean, I
don't know anything about the law except for what I
just rip off from the headliner that's gonna be?
Speaker 2 (01:17:33):
Is that gonna be outside your apartment?
Speaker 1 (01:17:36):
Yes, in the back the backyard of my well? Will
it be the state? I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:17:41):
Are you all looking for a couple of days?
Speaker 1 (01:17:43):
Okay, see if you can go to go to uh
what is it?
Speaker 7 (01:17:48):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (01:17:49):
You buy tickets for concerts? Ticket Master stub Hub may
have some tickets.
Speaker 8 (01:17:55):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:17:56):
Are you ready for the show? That's right?
Speaker 7 (01:18:00):
Duran in the Morning Show?
Speaker 1 (01:18:09):
Knock Knocker?
Speaker 2 (01:18:09):
Who's there?
Speaker 7 (01:18:10):
Elvis Duran and the Morning Show?
Speaker 1 (01:18:13):
Surprise? Listen? Hey, we have Foggy sitting over here getting
ready for Food News. It is Food News Thursday. Come on?
What's your countdown going to be today? Come on? All right?
Speaker 13 (01:18:22):
Well again, I'll let you choose if you'd like. It
doesn't mean I'm gonna throw the other two out and
never use them again. But I have three if you'd
like to choose one, Okay, what are they?
Speaker 14 (01:18:30):
All?
Speaker 5 (01:18:31):
Right?
Speaker 13 (01:18:31):
So today's countdowns could be one the best store bought
in there and narrow sauce off the grocery store shelves. Okay,
testing number two, the best chain restaurants for our first date?
Speaker 1 (01:18:43):
There you go at number three.
Speaker 13 (01:18:45):
The NFL ticket price is for a ticket, a beer
and a hot dog at NFL stadiums this year.
Speaker 1 (01:18:50):
What it will cost you for a ticket, a beer
in a hot dog? Number Two's who cares about that?
It's crazy expensive? Okay, turn away the marinera thing. Do
we have any conflict with that list right now?
Speaker 5 (01:19:05):
Are we?
Speaker 1 (01:19:06):
Okay?
Speaker 10 (01:19:06):
There?
Speaker 1 (01:19:08):
Want excuse dearious? Okay, So it may be the best fast,
the best of the chain restaurants for dates.
Speaker 5 (01:19:14):
I like that.
Speaker 1 (01:19:16):
I do too, me too.
Speaker 2 (01:19:17):
I recently saw a list of all the places women
said they would not go on a first date, and
I was blown away.
Speaker 1 (01:19:23):
Okay, then we have to talk about that list as well.
Speaker 2 (01:19:25):
Okay, I'll find it.
Speaker 1 (01:19:27):
We have multiple lists, and of course food news is
on the way. Danielle has been a report in a while, right,
have you no, Danielle report because Danielle needs something to do. Yeah,
you know, she's been eating grape so long. There are raisins.
Let's go around the room though, we love it. Around
the room session. Let's start with Froggy, Foggy, what's on
(01:19:48):
your mind today?
Speaker 13 (01:19:49):
Danielle's my witness eye? Am spoken to like a complete
bum in my household?
Speaker 1 (01:19:54):
Danielle.
Speaker 13 (01:19:55):
Yesterday was on the phone with my wife and she
heard my wife call me two names, names that cannot
stay here on the radio.
Speaker 1 (01:20:00):
Names they cannot repeat. But I just want you guys
to know I am not treated very nicely in mind.
You had to tell us what.
Speaker 3 (01:20:08):
I cannot.
Speaker 1 (01:20:08):
I can't. I can't even say that. You're awful.
Speaker 3 (01:20:10):
And I don't think she said them, because you know
she really meant them, so you know, I think it
was one.
Speaker 1 (01:20:16):
It was one, A A whole was one of them. Oh,
it was much worse than that.
Speaker 2 (01:20:21):
Did you earn it, Froggy? Did you earn it?
Speaker 1 (01:20:23):
I didn't know it did not?
Speaker 3 (01:20:25):
No, actually, actually he did not earn it yesterday.
Speaker 1 (01:20:29):
All right, guys, you can't tell us what the words are.
It doesn't it's It's okay. Sorry, I'll talk to you
like that, Thank you? Was it really bad though?
Speaker 10 (01:20:37):
It was?
Speaker 1 (01:20:38):
Okay? Hey, Gandhi, what's up with you today?
Speaker 2 (01:20:40):
There are a lot of parts of these jobs. I
love this job. I think one of my favorite is
whenever it comes to anything medical. And we have a
lot of doctors who listen, who are our friends, who
help us out with things. And I want to shout
out our dude, doctor Brad, doctor Bradley Shaeffer. We know
him from my feet are killing me?
Speaker 1 (01:20:54):
Yeah, we love doctor Brad.
Speaker 2 (01:20:56):
Diamond was having a foot issue yesterday that she didn't
want to like talk about, so I took a photo
of it. I sent it to him. He figured out
what it was immediately. Diamond got it taken care of yesterday,
and I just love that. This is this is a
good situation to be.
Speaker 1 (01:21:11):
Yeah, God, to have doctor Brad on speed. Wait, Diamond, dim,
what's wrong with your foot? What's going on over there?
Speaker 2 (01:21:20):
Drop my phone?
Speaker 7 (01:21:21):
Sorry?
Speaker 1 (01:21:21):
Hi, what's wrong with your foot?
Speaker 9 (01:21:24):
Well?
Speaker 2 (01:21:24):
I had a procedure yesterday. It wasn't a big deal.
What is it called, Nate uh?
Speaker 1 (01:21:31):
The planters planters Wark? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:21:34):
Oh god, it was a it was a war and
a blister.
Speaker 1 (01:21:39):
It's a double banger, a blistering wart.
Speaker 2 (01:21:43):
It was very weird. Yeah, just no, everybody should see it.
Speaker 14 (01:21:48):
No, no, no, But I just wanted to be known
that I had a procedure yesterday and she's still in
the building today.
Speaker 3 (01:21:57):
Hand clay, that's.
Speaker 1 (01:22:02):
Soldier here, she's no soldier. That's a procedure. That's that's
the whole point of a procedure. You move on.
Speaker 2 (01:22:08):
Can I just say really quickly? The acrobatics that Diamond
was going through so I could take a photo of
her foot without capturing her toes was crazy. I think
she might there's something going on with her toes. I
don't know what it is, but it's something.
Speaker 1 (01:22:20):
All right, Everyone's feet, ichy, even when they're healthy feet,
they're still feet at the end of the day. Hey Nate,
what's up with you? Very rarely do you get to
choose your own name. But I was talking to somebody
the other day that he was trying to pick out
his name because he was becoming a grandparent. If you
become a grandparent, you have that like, oh be Gramps, grampy,
(01:22:43):
Nona pop Like he ended up choosing Pops. He's going, yeah,
so good, Elvis, I think you need to have kids,
and then you know grandkids, so you get to choose
your own name. Because because I'm not I will never
have grandkids. But people are gonna start calling me granddad names.
(01:23:05):
I thought I'll skip over the actual lineage. Just call
me some old grand Hey, here comes Grandpa or g.
Speaker 7 (01:23:18):
Daddy.
Speaker 1 (01:23:19):
Okay, no one's gonna call me any of those things.
How about that? What's up there, Danielle?
Speaker 4 (01:23:25):
So you know I love introducing new people to Broadway, right,
So Kids Night on Broadway happens every year. This year
it's August twenty fifth, and the cool thing about it
is kids and teens ages eighteen and under can attend
participating Broadway shows for free if an adult pays full
price for their ticket.
Speaker 3 (01:23:42):
And some of the shows this year are incredible. Schmigadon.
You've got Lost Boys, You've.
Speaker 4 (01:23:47):
Got Wicked, The Lion King, MJ the Musical Six. I mean,
the list goes on and on and on. So if
you want to do it, check it out. Kids Night
on Broadway. You can go to Broadwaydirect dot com for
information and so August twenty fifth it's a great way
to introduce people to Broadway for the first time. Anyone
who's never been there, you know, and it's a it's
a better cheaper way to do it as well, So
(01:24:07):
I think you should take advantage of it.
Speaker 5 (01:24:09):
You know.
Speaker 1 (01:24:09):
Danielle and I so enjoyed our last Broadway outing. I
think I'm due for another night. Take me to a show.
Speaker 3 (01:24:16):
You picked the show, and we'll go.
Speaker 1 (01:24:18):
All right, we'll go, Hey, scary, what's up with you today?
Speaker 5 (01:24:20):
So?
Speaker 1 (01:24:21):
You know, I color my hair a little bit. I
put a little bit of a you know, a little
touch of these cool brewis whatever the name of that
company is that does that. I'll do a full on
polish color. But I know so anyway, I like to
put that some occasionally. But here's the issue. Now, my
beard doesn't match my hair, Yeah, Mike, because I come
(01:24:44):
in my beard comes in gray. So now I've got
to find myself shaving every single day. Otherwise it looks stupid, right,
because you don't want black on the top and gray
on the beard. Is that a thing?
Speaker 7 (01:24:54):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:24:55):
If you can do that, you can color your beard
as well. Yeah, that's too much work.
Speaker 10 (01:25:00):
Too much work.
Speaker 2 (01:25:00):
I think it's the same amount of work as your hair,
if not less, I don't know. But so take a
little comb, brush it through.
Speaker 3 (01:25:06):
Just go great, you do the son Pepi.
Speaker 1 (01:25:09):
Here's the thing, here's the thing. Look, you know it
was what ten years ago or more when you know
guys wearing beards, was it became the thing, right, and
now everyone who can has one. Mine was. I was
looking like at the Santa Claus as well, and for
my beard, and so I never got to do that.
I never got to be in with the facial hair thing,
and I was scary. When you have a silver beard,
(01:25:29):
it's it's a sucks.
Speaker 2 (01:25:32):
I think a little a little silver and the beard's
kind of hot.
Speaker 8 (01:25:34):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (01:25:34):
Yeah, Well then I guess I'll start that silver bear.
Speaker 2 (01:25:38):
All right, baby, bring it.
Speaker 1 (01:25:39):
Where's Elvis? He's out growing a silver beard. He'll be back.
All right. We got everyone in from around the room.
I think we're good there. Danielle, you ready to go?
Speaker 3 (01:25:48):
Oh sure, my grapes down?
Speaker 1 (01:25:50):
All right, put your grapes down. Okay, what's going on?
All right?
Speaker 4 (01:25:54):
So a Seinfeld re ups with Netflix for five more years.
Speaker 3 (01:25:58):
So here's my question.
Speaker 1 (01:26:00):
Question.
Speaker 4 (01:26:00):
Does that mean that Jerry and the rest of the
cast get a lot more money if they did their
contracts right?
Speaker 3 (01:26:06):
It would right?
Speaker 4 (01:26:07):
It wouldn't mean that if Netflix re ups for five
more years. That's what I'm thinking.
Speaker 3 (01:26:12):
Does not the rest of the rest.
Speaker 1 (01:26:14):
Of the car I think they all get something, but
he definitely gets the line.
Speaker 3 (01:26:18):
He'll get the most. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:26:19):
So, Ariana Grande made Ricky Alvarez her Instagram official boyfriend.
Speaker 3 (01:26:23):
You know, they split almost a decade ago.
Speaker 4 (01:26:25):
Then he re entered the picture as her Eternal Sunshine
tour started and word got out that she and her
Wicked co star Ethan Slater had parted ways. So yesterday
she posted this carousel featured a couple of photos of Ricky,
and then he reposted them. And I know He's been
at like almost every stop on her tour, which is cool.
Speaker 3 (01:26:45):
So they are definitely back together.
Speaker 4 (01:26:48):
Two thousand parents were asked in a recent poll who
their kid's favorite characters are, and I will tell you
just the top five. Number five is SpongeBob SquarePants, number
four is Moana, number three is el from Frozen, number
two is Bluey.
Speaker 3 (01:27:02):
But coming into number one is Barbie. Barbie comes in
a number one, which I thought. It's pretty interesting. Yeah,
it's kind of interesting.
Speaker 4 (01:27:09):
TMZ is reporting that the warden at FCI Fortnicks released
Diddy from solitary confinement three weeks ago he was involved
in a fight with it. Well, actually three weeks ago
was when he was involved in the fight that got
him into solitary combinement and his punishment was that, and
then he got a later release date. If you haven't
heard now, it's February twenty of twenty twenty eight. So yeah,
(01:27:32):
Perez Hilton voluntarily gave his mother temporary custody of his
three children after everything that went down on the internet.
He said, I understand and acknowledged that I may have
to comply with a reasonable transition plan prior to the
court returning legal custom to me. He signed this, and
obviously his attorney is saying that their main concern is
(01:27:53):
an objective is to keep the kids safe and make
sure the kids are well taken care of.
Speaker 3 (01:27:57):
Right now, So what are we watching?
Speaker 4 (01:27:59):
There's a lot lot of good stuff tonight, NFL preseason football,
the Steelers, the Packers, the forty nine Ers, the titan
So that will be cool.
Speaker 3 (01:28:06):
Over on Netflix.
Speaker 4 (01:28:07):
It's the Field of Dreams Major League Baseball in Iowa
series the Phillies and the Twins go at it. You
also have camp Rock three tonight on the Disney Channel.
The Jonas brothers are there and Demi Lovato. So that's
gonna be a lot of fun if you were a
camp rock fan, and that is my Danielle, beautiful.
Speaker 1 (01:28:23):
Danielle, you pick up your grapes and head back to
grape Chris Hill, how much choked on one? We got
sound with Garret? Garrett? What are you go going on
to that? All right?
Speaker 16 (01:28:30):
So if you're listening last break, you decided to bring
the Sounds of Summer to life with everybody in the room.
So do you guys want to hear what you sounded like?
Speaker 7 (01:28:38):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (01:28:38):
Yeah, not really? No, yeah, no, we've moved on. So
ten years ago, Okay, here it is. Can we handle
the truth? This is the sounds of Summer from the
Elvis dr In chorus. Sorry, Froggy, why is it birth? Well,
(01:29:04):
that's not the sounds of summer. Sorry, that's that's you
year round. What are you doing if you have a soda?
All right?
Speaker 16 (01:29:11):
All right, So it's crazy to think that ten years
ago we got Baby Shark became the biggest most watched
video on YouTube. Well, Park Young Rung was seven years
old when he recorded that song. And he's in the video. Well,
next Friday he gets his first single called Wave where
he samples baby Shark.
Speaker 1 (01:29:30):
And here's just a little clip of that. Two games
today today. There you go. So next, yeah, next, next Friday.
We get that all right now.
Speaker 16 (01:29:46):
If you if you ever played NBA Jam at the
arcade or at home on the video game, and you
ever played against the Bulls and noticed that the Bulls
had a little trouble towards the end of the game
and they always missed some shots. It was because the
creator grew up as a dis fan and he hated
the Bulls so much that he wrote some code into
the system to make sure the Bulls always lose.
Speaker 1 (01:30:06):
And he talks about it right here.
Speaker 17 (01:30:07):
But the one way that I could get back at
the Bulls once they got over the hume was to
affect their skills against the Pistons in NBA Jam, And
so I put in special code that if the Bulls
were taking the last second shots against the Pistons, they
would miss those shots. And so if you're ever playing
(01:30:28):
the game, make sure you pick the Pistons.
Speaker 10 (01:30:30):
Over the Bulls.
Speaker 1 (01:30:31):
Hey, you know, if you're doing the code, you can
do what you want.
Speaker 2 (01:30:34):
Right right, the same thing.
Speaker 16 (01:30:36):
But I always thought it was like, oh man, what happened?
How come the bulls? Like it's the bulls they should
be winning. But it's because this guy, you know, made
sure that he won, and I always lost. All right,
let's move over to some talkbacks that we got on
the iHeartRadio app a review from our listener Angela about
something that went down on the show today.
Speaker 6 (01:30:55):
I've been listening to you guys since I was nineteen,
since probat of you the most thirty years. That today
today was one of the best phone tabs I've ever heard.
Speaker 1 (01:31:06):
It really was one, and it was scary, scary. I
loved your phone tap today, Thank you so much.
Speaker 16 (01:31:11):
All right, you haven't And then we move over to
another listener who wants to try out to audition a
new jingle she wants to hear on the show.
Speaker 5 (01:31:19):
If you have the.
Speaker 7 (01:31:20):
iHeart Radio.
Speaker 10 (01:31:23):
And you want to listen to Elpstaan in the morning show,
you better put your Eyeheart Radio.
Speaker 7 (01:31:30):
Love y'all.
Speaker 5 (01:31:30):
There you go.
Speaker 10 (01:31:31):
I love it.
Speaker 16 (01:31:32):
We'll consider it. We'll consider it and then send us
your jingles. Yes, all right, we all know. Ella Langley
having the song of the Summer pretty much choosing Texas
and it sounds like this drink and.
Speaker 6 (01:31:41):
Jacko by myself, I'm just choosing Texas SoCon test.
Speaker 1 (01:31:47):
So last night I love it.
Speaker 16 (01:31:49):
Last night on the Tonight show, Fallon had Matthew McConaughey
and they both got together to do a bluegrass version
of choosing Texas.
Speaker 8 (01:31:58):
To Stop.
Speaker 1 (01:32:06):
I'll say it again, even though Nate doesn't like it,
but who cares. This is one of the things I
love about watching Fallon. He always incorporates music into his
bits and things. I love that McConaughey can play the banjo,
which I had no idea. So, Nate, why why are
you making fart face? Which one was that it's good
you had to look into your face like ew oh, no, no, no, no,
I just prefer the Ella Langley version. I'm sorry. She's
(01:32:29):
really hard to top in. I thought maybe maybe Daniel
vomited on your It is food News Thursday. You're a
good American garrette. You get his food News Thursday. We
get into food news. Coming up.
Speaker 7 (01:32:40):
When you wake up, wake up to Elvis Drain in
the morning show.
Speaker 1 (01:32:45):

Elvis Elvis Duran in the morning.
Speaker 1 (01:34:00):
Oh here it is. It's Thursday. It's food News Thursday.
Of course, Froggy's in charge of all this stuff, food news,
and he gives us a countdown list Today's list. We
all kind of agree it's okay. Yeah, but also there's
a counter list to that as well from Gandhi. Right, Gandhi,
I do have another list? Yeah, absolutely, okay, Well let's
do it. Let's just get into food news. Let's go news.
(01:34:21):
It's magically delicious.
Speaker 13 (01:34:23):
It is all right, Froggy, you're on all right. After five,
y'all are long years. If you like spice. McDonald's is
reportedly bringing back its fan favorite fiery chicken nuggets in September.
They are due to return spicy McNuggets, and this time
the bringing back the mighty Hot sauce as well with them.
Spicy and chickenan nuggets were last seen on the menu
(01:34:45):
back in twenty twenty four. They're breaded with a sizzling
tempura coating, maybe with both cayenne and chili peppers, and
once again it'll be a limited time return. But they
are returning in September to McDonald's. Dominos has decided to
finally place games with their new pizza. Dominoes is making
Domino Pizza. They're now going to make a new personal
(01:35:06):
pizza made of two square slices that form a Domino
tile shaped pizza. Of course, they'll come in accustomed Domino
shaped box and it's going to be Detroit style pizza.
So if you like Dominoes and you like pizza, the
is not going to come in square boxes. They look
like Dominoes. Their namesake, Wow Cheese. It was the first
person to introduce gluten free snacks. Well, now guess what,
(01:35:30):
Goldfish After so many years of fans requesting gluten free
cheese crackers, this fall, it is finally happening. They are
going to hit shelves in November. You'll be able to
get them for just four ninety nine a box. But
if you're a sillyak or gluten you have a diet
that includes that free you want it. Well, guess what,
Now you can have goldfish snacks crackers because you couldn't before. Also,
(01:35:54):
Chick fil A introducing four new limited time menu items,
two chicken and waffle sandwiches once breakfast sandwich is smaller
and then one's a bigger sandwich is like a meal.
Also a s'mores, a milkshake, and s'mores frosted coffee. There
will be a Chick fil A's beginning October twenty fourth
for a limited time at participating nationwide Chick fil a restaurants.
(01:36:16):
You ready for the countdown?
Speaker 16 (01:36:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 13 (01:36:18):
Yeah, Oh my god, I've been waiting all night for this.
Here we go, the countdown, Here comes the fight. Here
we are best chain restaurants for our first date. Coming
in at number five. The Melting Pot. Oh okay, the
melting Pot? Is that that the pond due place?
Speaker 16 (01:36:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 13 (01:36:34):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, all right, all right, scary Number four,
there we go. Chillies, Ah okay, huh? Number three Outpack
Steak House, have the bloomin onion.
Speaker 12 (01:36:46):
Ah.
Speaker 1 (01:36:49):
Number two, olive Garden, endless breadsticks and salad. What a date?
And number one.
Speaker 13 (01:36:55):
Because there's got to be something on the menu for everybody.
Cheese Take Factory coming in at number one.
Speaker 3 (01:37:01):
What my Applebee's not a date night?
Speaker 1 (01:37:07):
I'm with you, Danielle Applebee's. Yeah yeah, first place that
took Lisa on a date. All right, So that list.
You had a little of everything on there, all of
not Gandhi's list. I don't know. Yes, so Gandhi is
a different list. What's your counter list?
Speaker 2 (01:37:22):
So I just saw this list posted. It was a
list of places women absolutely refuse to go on a
first date, piled by by you know, all of the
people that follow this page.
Speaker 1 (01:37:32):
It's the highlights.
Speaker 2 (01:37:33):
Okay, Well, every restaurant Frogg you just mentioned was on there,
which I think is wild. Other things the movies, your house,
any fast food chain, a buffet of any sorts, the gym, church,
coffee dates, ice cream dates, family functions, movie night like
a move like Netflix and chill type of night, somewhere
(01:37:55):
that requires a long drive, bowling, nightclubs, hookah ours a
bar just for drinks and sports events.
Speaker 1 (01:38:03):
Well, what's left?
Speaker 3 (01:38:04):
I'm not sure extant? Yeah, that's you're right, scared jet
yep a jet.
Speaker 2 (01:38:14):
I think that list is wild. I would go to
almost any of those places, would house.
Speaker 1 (01:38:19):
As you as you were reading that list, I'm thinking
I would do all those things. Yeah, doable. Church to me,
I don't know about a date a church. I see
why going to church is great, but I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:38:32):
I mean maybe just you know, the parents house for
the first time, A great.
Speaker 1 (01:38:38):
Coffee. I thought, yeah, the little coffee. I would go
to their parents house if they were like a billionaire. O,
my god, what's wrong with like the number one on
that list, Gandhi? The number one place they don't want
to go is cheesecake factory. Right, the number one best
chained restaurant for our first date is cheesecake factory. So
which one's right and which one's wrong.
Speaker 2 (01:38:59):
I don't know if people have gotten a little nuts
about the places that they refuse to go on a
first date, because I think the majority of those are a, Okay,
I get no fast food, Okay, you don't want to
do that, and you know some of the other ones,
but come on, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:39:11):
Last time I went to cheesecake factory, I had a
little disruption.
Speaker 2 (01:39:14):
Oh oh no, do you want to talk more about that?
Speaker 1 (01:39:17):
Well, think it was a cheesecake factory at a mall,
so we ate a cheesecake factory and it was like, okay,
we would out to the mall that I had to run.
I you know, I had to go to the bathroom,
and I'm like, I don't care if I'm on the
opposite end of the mall. I'm going back to the
cheesecake factory bathroom because they started this, you know, I'm
I'm gonna give them a dose of their own medicine.
Speaker 2 (01:39:37):
One of my favorite things to do with my friends
is go to the cheesecake factory and just order a
bunch of appetizers and split them.
Speaker 7 (01:39:43):
Love it.
Speaker 2 (01:39:43):
Yeah, you can't stop me?
Speaker 1 (01:39:45):
All right? So where are we going on the first date?
If we all had to vote on one of those
places to go for a first date, it would be Danielle,
where would we be.
Speaker 2 (01:39:54):
One of these places or just any place these.
Speaker 1 (01:39:57):
One of the places listed? Okay, what place would you
I'd like to go to?
Speaker 6 (01:40:01):
Live?
Speaker 3 (01:40:01):
I've got movies? Is probably good?
Speaker 11 (01:40:04):
Is that?
Speaker 1 (01:40:04):
All the movies are good because you don't have to talk,
You have to get to know each other. You get
a drink with someone. Come on, people, Cocktails are good
even if you're mock tailing it, that's fine. Gandhi, what
do you think?
Speaker 2 (01:40:16):
I would totally do a coffee date or an ice
cream date? Either one of those work.
Speaker 1 (01:40:19):
What about you? Uh? Frog, cheesecake factory is good for me?
Speaker 7 (01:40:27):
Did you ask comments?
Speaker 12 (01:40:28):
Almost Sauce on this side, Oh God Please a podcast
hosted by Gandhi.
Speaker 2 (01:40:33):
Are you okay?
Speaker 12 (01:40:34):
Open your free iHeartRadio app, search for Sauce on the
Side and listen today with Elvis Duran in the Morning Show.

Speaker 12 (01:41:03):
Collus at one eight hundred and two for two zero
one hundred and every morning, every morning, this is Elvis
Duran in.
Speaker 5 (01:41:08):
The Morning Show.
Speaker 1 (01:41:09):
Look at this, This is August thirteenth, and so that
means September twenty sixth is going to be here before
you know it. We're talking about twenty twenty six Global
Citizen Festival in Central Park and around the world. Of course,
and of course every year we have to talk to
Hugh Evans about what's going to happen. How we gearing up.
Good morning, Hugh, Welcome to the show. It's good to
have you here.
Speaker 10 (01:41:29):
Good morning, Elvis. It's awesome to be on your show
this morning. Thank you for having me.
Speaker 1 (01:41:34):
Well, it's it does it feel good to be had?
Because that's the question.
Speaker 10 (01:41:38):
It feels good to be had.
Speaker 5 (01:41:39):
And we are very excited about, as you said, the
twenty twenty six Global Citizen Festival. We announced the line
up this morning and you've been the most amazing partner
to us over so many years. So thank you from
all of us at Global Citizen.
Speaker 1 (01:41:55):
Well we're about to get into that, but I got
to rewind the hands of time just a little bit
for a second, going back to the World Cup viewing
party for the final game in Central Park, and I
was so so excited to be a part of that event.
And I tell you what, I think Global Citizen should
have a permanent residency at Central Park. I mean, so
(01:42:17):
that was two events you did in the span of
one year. Is that the first year? Is this the
first year you've done two events in the same year?
Speaker 5 (01:42:25):
It is that same day we hosted the halftime show
for the World Cup and we also hosted, as you said.
Speaker 10 (01:42:31):
The largest viewing party in the world for the World Cup.
Speaker 5 (01:42:35):
Final, sixty thousand Global Citizens, and thank you so much
for hosting it. Everyone who was there was so thrilled
that you were on stage and it was amazing to
see when that first goal was scored. I saw all
of Central Park light up. And we've been so honored
because you know, we're the only charity event on the
(01:42:58):
Great Lawn of Central Park, alongside the New York Philharmonic,
and so it really is an enormous honor to call
the historic Great Lawn our home. And we don't take
that privilege lightly. We want to use it to build
the world's largest movement on the planet taking action to
end extreme poverty.
Speaker 1 (01:43:16):
Well, at that watching party at Central Park, I made
a new friend, Victoria Bretto. I don't know if you're
familiar with Victoria. Now she's become a good friend of
the show. She's the god daughter of the world famous
Pale and she is so so locked in in the perfect,
perfect partner for anything and everything that pertains to global
(01:43:37):
citizen events. We insist, we insist you bring her on
for more events. Hopefully she'll be able to help us
out on the twenty sixth of September at Central Park again.
So put her on the list, please.
Speaker 10 (01:43:47):
Okay, I'll put her on the list. I think she's wonderful.
Speaker 5 (01:43:49):
While we're at it, my one of my team members
Prisca told me to tell you that she loves you,
and so she's a huge fan of your work, and
so I'll put her on the list and then when
you're in Central Park she can come on stage with you.
Speaker 1 (01:44:03):
Is that a deal? Oh wow, we're in Okay. By
the way, this is all on air, so we have witnesses,
so you can't back out of any of this. It's
all stamped and Den and Dennie all we expect you
to be there as well. Enough, there you go, expectations, So.
Speaker 8 (01:44:16):
There you go.
Speaker 4 (01:44:18):
I hear Landy Wilson's coming, so you Knownny.
Speaker 1 (01:44:22):
Well, let's get to the list. Then the twenty twenty
six Global Citizen Festival, the lineup featuring Ms. Laurin Hill
and Why Cleff Jean, Lenny Kravitz, we love. I think
we're about to play some Lenny in a second, because
he's always the best. John Legend will be there, Laney Wilson,
Shahboozi and of course tomorrow by together they are incredible
and they I think we had a bit one of
(01:44:43):
our shows recently too, didn't we? Yes, just say we did.
So who's hosting this here? Hugh?
Speaker 10 (01:44:51):
I'm going to be hosted by Hugh Jackman.
Speaker 5 (01:44:54):
As you know, Hugh has been the most extraordinary ambassador
for Global Citizen for the last fIF years, and he
announced it this morning on his social channels. And I'm
really excited because Miss Laurence Hill and Wycliffe are going
to do the thirtieth anniversary of the Score, which will
be extraordinary on the Great Lawn of Central Park, John
(01:45:15):
Legend together as you mentioned, Lenny Kravitz, Lenny Wilson, Shaboozie
Tomorrow Bye together, and we have some huge special guests
that we're going to announce in a few weeks time
as well. This is going to be one of our
most extraordinary Global Citizens in Central Park.
Speaker 10 (01:45:31):
So we want every single person across the Tri State.
Speaker 5 (01:45:34):
Area and around the world to earn their tickets to
come to the Great Lawn of Central Park by taking action.
Speaker 4 (01:45:41):
You know, the Hugh Jackman used to listen to us
when he was driving his kids to school, remember, so yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:45:46):
He still does.
Speaker 3 (01:45:47):
I think he still does.
Speaker 1 (01:45:49):
He's listing now, so don't see anything.
Speaker 3 (01:45:50):
We love you, We love you, thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:45:52):
Okay, So let's talk about here. Let's bring everyone up
just being about Global Citizen in the festival and of
course the action people can take to be a part
of this event, but it's impact around the world. And
I know that we're all so into what you're doing
because it's so ahead of everyone else. It's trying to
do sort of the same thing. Go ahead, let everyone
(01:46:15):
know what Global citizens all about.
Speaker 5 (01:46:17):
Yeah, So it's very simple. Global citizens belief is that
when we take action together, it's more powerful than we
just take action alone. So we use our collective actions
and call on world leaders to commit billions of dollars
for the eradication of extreme poverty. Because when you all
call on a world leader together, they can't possibly ignore it.
And we have thirteen million members around the world. Now
(01:46:40):
we've all registered on the Global Citizen app. And when
everyone does that same action and calls on President Macron
or President Vonderline of the European Commission, they hear those
messages in unison.
Speaker 10 (01:46:51):
You see.
Speaker 5 (01:46:52):
It's like digital democracy at work. And this year we're
calling for three big things. Firstly, we want to create opportunity.
He's for two million children to be able to go
to school. Secondly, we want to support one point five
million farmers who feed the world but often struggle to
feed their own families.
Speaker 10 (01:47:11):
And thirdly, we want to make sure that two and
a half million homes.
Speaker 5 (01:47:15):
Across Africa and the Pacific have access to electricity. We
want them to be able to turn the lights on
for the first time.
Speaker 10 (01:47:22):
And how do you do this well. In the first thing,
we're calling.
Speaker 5 (01:47:25):
On the governments of Denmark and Ireland to invest more
into education because those countries haven't yet stepped up, and
we're going to be supporting two initiatives.
Speaker 10 (01:47:36):
One is called Education Cannot Wait.
Speaker 5 (01:47:38):
They're one of the best organizations for supporting kids on
the frontline who are affected by crisis or famine. And
we're also supporting GARVI, the Vaccine Alliance, who make sure
that kids under the age of five years old don't
die from preventable diseases. And then on the issue of
making sure that we can turn the lights on for
(01:47:58):
two and a half million kids, we actually need my
own country of Australia to step up in this instance
because I don't know if you remember, but last year
Global Citizen ran a huge campaign supporting clean energy in
Africa and we managed to get all of the European
Union united behind Energy in Africa and we raised fifteen
billion dollars, which was a huge, huge campaign, and now
(01:48:21):
we need the Australian government to step up for its neighbors,
which is the Pacific countries like Fiji, Palao too blue.
These are the countries that are still lacking electricity for
so many of their residents and you can't lift people
out of poverty without electricity. And so we're calling on
the Istraian government to step up with one point five
(01:48:41):
billion dollars, not just in foreign aid, but actually in
loans to support businesses who want to create clean energy
projects across the Pacific, because it's far more sustainable if
you're creating long term investment rather than just charity and handouts,
and so this is what it's all about. Global citizens
(01:49:02):
will also be able to volunteer hearing New York City
at homeless shelters and to clean up the beaches across
the Rockaways. We did it all last year. Thousands of
Global citizens came out Elvis. You're welcome to join us
that day as well, and it's it's amazing to see
the spirit of New Yorkers taking action both locally and globally.
Speaker 10 (01:49:22):
It's very powerful.
Speaker 1 (01:49:24):
I'll bring my dice and vacuum cleaner down to the beach.
I don't know if that works. By the way, if
you're just turning us on. This is Hugh Evans from
Global Citizen, of course, and hearing these initiatives from you,
and I know these are actually to be honest, these
are the tip of the iceberg. There are so many,
so many different initiatives that Global Citizen is a part of,
(01:49:44):
and you can be a part of as well. Downloading
that Global Citizen app is really the coolest thing. Not
only can you keep up with the news about what's
going on around the world, and you need at the
very least in life, you need to be updated daily
about what's going on around the world as far as people,
ca farmers, electricity, all of it. At the same time,
when you do things on the app, you can start
(01:50:07):
earning these free festival tickets, you can start earning all
sorts of points and things. It's really fascinating how you've
put this together, Hugh. And let's talk about another Hugh.
Hugh Jackman. Good question coming from Nate over here. He's like, why,
Hugh Jackman, why is this so important to him? He
shows up every single time.
Speaker 5 (01:50:28):
Yeah, So I first met Hugh about seventeen years ago.
We were at the time he was hosting this big
summit in Australia and he actually mistook me for a waiter.
Speaker 10 (01:50:39):
I was twenty one at the.
Speaker 1 (01:50:40):
Time, and he thought okay.
Speaker 10 (01:50:42):
He asked me for a drink and I got him
a drink.
Speaker 5 (01:50:44):
And we ended up talking about basically about how you
can end extreme poverty within our lifetime, and he decided
to be the first person to back Global Citizen when
we were still getting started. In fact, we hosted the
first event at his house in New York City and
for that for the last fifteen years, he's been the
most extraordinary ambassador for our work. And he, you know,
(01:51:07):
he has seen as the movement has grown, because in
the first year, everyone didn't even believe we'd get the
Great Lawn of Central Park because everyone was like, no,
it hasn't happened since Simon and Garfunkle back in nineteen
eighty one.
Speaker 10 (01:51:20):
There's no way you can have the Great Lawn.
Speaker 5 (01:51:22):
But then when Meror Bloomberg gave us that first permit
almost fifteen years ago, that's when Neil Young and the
Food Fighters and everyone came on year one to perform
for free and sixty thousand Global Citizens rocked up, and
Hugh Jackman was so blown away. He's like, Okay, I'm
going to help take this aul around the world, and
as he was actually filming one of his Wolverine movies
(01:51:45):
at the time, and he just got more and more involved,
traveled with us overseas, saw the movement at work, and honestly,
he's been the most extraordinary ambassador for Global Citizen. That's
why he was the perfect person to announce the lineup
this morning and has just been the most amazing friend,
both personally and to the organization.
Speaker 2 (01:52:08):
Wow, you gandhi y had a question, Yeah, this is
an incredible lineup. Is there somebody that you are most
excited to see?
Speaker 10 (01:52:14):
Oh? That's really hard. I know, that's really hard.
Speaker 5 (01:52:17):
I mean, I mean John Legend is on the board
of Global Citizens, so he's.
Speaker 10 (01:52:24):
Like fully invested and it's done so much.
Speaker 5 (01:52:26):
Lenny Kravitz actually performed in headline Global Citizen when we
were when we were in Paris, alongside Billie Eilish, So
he's been part of the movement for a long time.
But you know why, Cliff and Lauren we were down
in Rio with Global Citizen, a few months ago and
Whycliffe's become a true friend. He invited me to his
(01:52:46):
church in Jersey and we ate Haitian food after at
his house and he's really He's become a formal Global
Citizen ambassadors. So this is like a lineup of people
who truly believe in the mission. And you know what
I think is also exciting about this year. You mentioned
Laney and Shaboozie. You know, like we haven't had a
huge country lineup in many years, that this is the
(01:53:08):
first year where you know, having Lady who headlines stage
Coach on Saturday, and Shaboozie, whose song is everywhere on
the planet. You know, we're so honored. I can't wait
for this year's lineup. It just feels like the energy
it's going to bring it is going to be unrifled.
Speaker 1 (01:53:25):
Well, Hugh Evans is here Global Citizen app. You got
to download it today. It's happening going down Central Park
on September twenty sixth. And as you said, Lauren Hill, Wycliff,
Jean John Legend, Landy Wilson, Shaboozi, I mean the list
goes on and on and on. Be a Global Citizen,
just like all of the above simply download your Global
Citizen app and get into Oh do I hear it?
(01:53:46):
Let me Kravitz, I smell Lenny. Here we go, Hugh,
thank you so much for coming on with us. We
sure do appreciate you.
Speaker 10 (01:53:55):
Thank you really appreciate your partnership.
Speaker 1 (01:53:57):
We'll see you on the Great Line. I'll bring my
diyce into the Rockaway beaches.
Speaker 10 (01:54:00):
I'll be out there. Okay, I'm counting on you.
Speaker 1 (01:54:02):
Elvis, all right, all right, turn it up. It's letting
grab its. Let's go to this. Let's go.
Speaker 7 (01:54:12):

Speaker 1 (01:54:16):
All right, shows done, Let's get out of here until
