Oh, I can say something that's misunderstood. Everyone thinks that
tattoo gate. I don't know if you know about this.

It was Vanner pump Villa and he has his sister's
name tattooed, but not mine. And I did see a
lot of people messaging me being like, girl, we've seen
Vanner Pump roules and your intuition is always correct. Something
weird's going on with his sister. And I'm like, oh
my god, you guys, no, that's not what I'm saying. Like,
I'm not saying that my intuition was not telling me

What do you think has kept your audience coming back?

I wonder that all the time. I'm like, how did
I trick everyone to keep keep buying my books and
reading what I have to say and listening to what
I have to say and watching what I have to say? Like,
how did I trick everyone? I don't know, I think
because I'm just like on it. I think that's just
like really helpful if you're just like honest with people.

Yeah, no one wants to feel lied to.

True, very true, and that honestly led to a tour.
Wasn't your first tour in twenty nineteen. Yeah, so what
made you say, you know what, I'm taking this on
the road.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
I think my agents, Yeah, you're like a page.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
I think my agents were like, this is what you
should do next, and I'm like, okay, sounds good.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
But people showed up.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Yeah, I mean was that wild to you to see that? Like, Wow,
here are people listening to my show live?
Speaker 2 (03:28):
Yes, that's like one of the coolest experiences. And especially
because like I do meet in greets beforehand, so I
get to meet so many people and hearing how like
something I wrote or something I said affected their lives
or helped them through something difficult.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
I'm like, oh, so, like I have more purpose life.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
It's crazy because when you're on in Mike, you don't
really realize the reach you have or that you listening, Yeah,
until you do meet people out and about Yeah, and
it's like wow. And I imagine that must be one
of the things you like about a live per formance recording, yes,
versus being in the studio.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
Yes, that's what I love about, especially meeting people.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Yeah, that's really really cool. You have now written three
New York Times best selling books. Excuse me, very hard
to do. Did you always see yourself as an author or.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
It just happens?
Speaker 2 (04:16):
You know what's so funny? Yes, So I went to school.
I went to college for English writing. And when I
was in college, I still have this, Like on one of
my computers, I wrote a book proposal, not a very
professional one, but it was a book proposal about how
to fake it till you make it, like being an
it girl, faking it till you make it. And I
(04:38):
only remembered that I did that, like as I was
writing my first books, I'm like, oh my god, I
am writing a basic bitch how to book.
Speaker 4 (04:48):
I was like, I manifested this.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Wow, you know so yeah, I knew that writing was
always something that I wanted to do, But now I'm
tired of it. You're done, Like the thought of writing
another book makes me want to die, like I need.
It's going to be a while, okay, never, Like it's
not never happening again. It's just it's very difficult and
it takes a lot, like yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
Yeah, and it's time consuming too.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Yeah, you have a million things going on, but clearly
people want them. You can be a four times best
selling author. Let's go, let's make it happen not now, Okay,
all right, so it eventually. Yeah, your first book, Next
Level Basic, hit number one on the Wall Street Journal
bestseller list. What do you remember about the moment you
found out?
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Oh my god, that was so exciting. I remember my
publicist at the time called me. I was in my
apartment and just tears. It was like, what the fuck?
This is so surreal?
Speaker 4 (05:44):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (05:45):
Yeah, and then your last book was twenty twenty four.
Was that twenty twenty four that you can't have it all?
Speaker 5 (05:51):
Yes?

Yes, what do you want that book to say?

The first two really didn't cover you know.

Hindsight looking back, because this is like all the advice
I wish somebody was giving me, but I can't always
take this advice.

Yeah, so like this is deeply personal because this is
and I don't think people probably even realize how personal
it is, because this really was I wrote it for me,
and I didn't know that I was doing that at
the time.

basic pitch or whatever it is that makes you you
like again, there's only one you so like, embrace that.

The third one was about just like trying to take
the pressure off because I was feeling like I had
to be doing everything, and so I was just writing
this book for myself to be like, no, you don't, Yeah,
now you don't.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
Yeah, well clearly it resonated. Yeah it did.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
If you could sit someone down who has never watched
vander Pump Rules and show them one scene of yours,
what scene would you show?
Speaker 4 (07:29):
That's such a good question.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
Probably, you know. One of my favorite scenes is season one.
We're at Lisa's house and someone says something and about
like what are your desires or what is it that
you want? And I say world domination? And then I
go into my interview. My yeah, my interview is setting whatever,

and I say I explain what a life a world
dominated by me would look like. And I think that's
one of my best lines and it's completely underrated, and
no one ever.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
Talks about it.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
No one talks about it.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
No, Like I can't like quote it because it's really long,
But it was what I would want the world to
be like if I was dominating the world and I'm like,
that was like really interesting.

I was like kind of cool for that. Let's dig
that one up right.

And nobody talks about it.

Now that you've had two kids, has motherhood changed the
way you approach your career at all?

It honestly, it motivates me so much more and it
makes me way more I think of the bigger picture
more than like the immediate. Like whereas before I had kids,
I was like, yeah, I'll take every job that like
comes my way.

Now I'm so.

Much more strategic because we got to be thinking how
will this affect us fifty years from now?
Speaker 4 (09:09):
So it's like the bigger brand.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
So like, I don't take every deal that I'm offered
because if it's not aligned, it's not worth it and
it's only going to like hurt the bigger picture.
Speaker 4 (09:24):
And that's because of my kids. I got to think
about the future.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
That's I mean.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
And that must be such a different mindset than from
when you began.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
No, because I was just like, hustle, hustle to everything
that you can, like yes to everything?
Speaker 3 (09:36):
Yeah, right.

Would you be down if your kids came to you
one day and said, I want a reality TV career
like you.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
Yeah, I'm trying to raise NEPO children.
Speaker 4 (09:47):
This is the family business. You want to do this,
I'm giving you a head.

Start, give them the spin off?
Speaker 4 (09:52):
Yeah yeah.

Would you be a stage mom?

I don't think i'd be a stage mom. I just
be a supportive mom.

co hosting a podcast with your husband? Does that ever
get complicated?

We have.

It's really fun because it gives us like an hour
where like we're forced to talk about things because you know,
when you've been with somebody for so long, you feel
like you know everything about them, and then when you
have kids, you're like only talking about like family.

Things, the things that we need to do, things on
the schedule.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
So like we're able to like come together for an
hour and like talk about things, you know. So that's fun,
but it does get hard, Like if we're like pussy
with each other, then we have to do a podcast, right,

Worst when that happens, the worst, but you do it.
But we do it.

You're not like, oh, let's not record today.

Why I think she's been able to take the Mormon
Wives show and just build up the business that she
already has her hair business and jay Z styles and
all of that.

And I think she's using social.

Media really well to just like it's like the harmony
of it all. She's like building a lasting career for herself.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
Have you ever given any of the newer generation of
reality stars advice? Has anyone come to you ever?
Speaker 3 (11:55):
Yeah? Kind of for a blueprint about a.
Speaker 4 (11:57):
Lot of things. Yeah, I get asked about a lot
of things.

From all different shows, all different casts.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
Yeah, whenever I'm around new people. Yes, yeah, do.

But also every reality show is different every you know,
so the audiences are going to be different, and different
production companies treat people differently, So my advice might not
work for somebody else, you know.

Now that you've had two kids, has motherhood changed the
way you approach your career at all?

It honestly, it motivates me so much more and it
makes me way more I think of the bigger picture
more than like the immediate. Like whereas before I had kids,
I was like, yeah, I'll take every job that like
comes my way.

Now I'm so.

Much more strategic because we got to be thinking how
will this affect us fifty years from now?
Speaker 4 (09:09):
So it's like the bigger brand.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
So like, I don't take every deal that I'm offered
because if it's not aligned, it's not worth it and
it's only going to like hurt the bigger picture.
Speaker 4 (09:24):
And that's because of my kids. I got to think
about the future.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
That's I mean.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
And that must be such a different mindset than from
when you began.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
No, because I was just like, hustle, hustle to everything
that you can, like yes to everything?
Speaker 3 (09:36):
Yeah, right.

Would you be down if your kids came to you
one day and said, I want a reality TV career
like you.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
Yeah, I'm trying to raise NEPO children.
Speaker 4 (09:47):
This is the family business. You want to do this,
I'm giving you a head.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
Start, give them the spin off?
Speaker 4 (09:52):
Yeah yeah.

Would you be a stage mom?
Speaker 4 (09:55):
I don't think i'd be a stage mom. I just
be a supportive mom.

I feel like we'd see you in the background of
their shows being.
Speaker 4 (10:03):

I'm so controlling. I'm like the most controlling person. I

They'd be like, mom, you're in my shot again? Really? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (10:14):
Yeah, they'd probably make it about me.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
I can't wait for that show. That's gonna be a
good one. A couple more, What is it actually like
co hosting a podcast with your husband? Does that ever
get complicated?
Speaker 4 (10:25):
It does?
Speaker 3 (10:26):
We have.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
It's really fun because it gives us like an hour
where like we're forced to talk about things because you know,
when you've been with somebody for so long, you feel
like you know everything about them, and then when you
have kids, you're like only talking about like family.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
Things, the things that we need to do, things on
the schedule.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
So like we're able to like come together for an
hour and like talk about things, you know. So that's fun,
but it does get hard, Like if we're like pussy
with each other, then we have to do a podcast, right,
it's the.
Speaker 4 (10:56):
Worst when that happens, the worst, but you do it.
But we do it.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
You're not like, oh, let's not record today.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
You're like now sometimes I have to pause, yeah, and
I'm like flip this energy around right now, get it together.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
Yeah, that's amazing. Last question, which newer reality star do
you think is doing it right?
Speaker 4 (11:20):
Jesse Draper?
Speaker 2 (11:21):
Why I think she's been able to take the Mormon
Wives show and just build up the business that she
already has her hair business and jay Z styles and
all of that.
Speaker 4 (11:36):
And I think she's using social.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
Media really well to just like it's like the harmony
of it all. She's like building a lasting career for herself.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
Have you ever given any of the newer generation of
reality stars advice? Has anyone come to you ever?
Speaker 3 (11:55):
Yeah? Kind of for a blueprint about a.
Speaker 4 (11:57):
Lot of things. Yeah, I get asked about a lot
of things.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
From all different shows, all different casts.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
Yeah, whenever I'm around new people. Yes, yeah, do.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
You like doing that? Yes?
Speaker 5 (12:10):
I do.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
But also every reality show is different every you know,
so the audiences are going to be different, and different
production companies treat people differently, So my advice might not
work for somebody else, you know.
Speaker 4 (12:26):
So I do like feel the pressure to say the
right thing.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
Yeah, Okay, Why should we watch.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
House of Stace because it's revolutionary. I'm changing the way
reality TV is made. I'm changing the course of history.
