Speaker 1 (00:00):
So last week they came in and said, you know what, Uh,
Kevin Jonas's new single is out, Little Things, so let's
hear it. So I didn't even hear it on my own.
I just played it for the first time on the air.
And as I've said many times, it usually takes a
couple of plays for a song for you really to
try to get it. It was one play. Did you

(00:23):
did you agree or do you agree with what I'm
just saying? I like, yeah, like it, I like I
like the actual lyrics.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Sometimes I don't pay attention to lyrics because I'm just
listening to the music.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
The lyrics are great. Well, Kevin, congratulations, we like your song.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Oh well, thank you very much.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
I mean, if we didn't like it, we would not
have like, we would not have waken we wouldn't wake
you up. Okay, So you and the Jonah's brothers, of course,
were in South America. How was that?

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Yeah? It was amazing. You know, anytime we go to.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
To light of South America, it's just absolutely crazy and amazing.
And the fans are just they try to outdo each
other country to country they really do in what way?

Speaker 1 (01:04):
But what do they do?

Speaker 3 (01:05):
Like just like the more like they like do really
special things, Like I played my song Changing in Brazil
and they like opened up these giant, like like cut
out paper blue like hearts and then blew up like
balloons and then released them in the audience like the
entire stadium. So it was just like a coordinated effort
on different songs. Like it's it's really special.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
So, Kevin, does it still I mean, after all these
years performing around the world, does this still kind of
just boggle your mind that you could be in some
country you can even pronounce sometimes and they know every
single syllable to every single song.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Yeah, it's pretty special.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
You know, I cannot speak Spanish or Portuguese, so the
fact that they've you know, taken the time and energy
to you know, maybe not have English as their first language,
so that they, you know, know our lyrics and they
sing them just as loud, if not louder back to
us as really you know, look, we've been able to
do this for a long time, you know, as you know,
all of us.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
But it's one of those things where it never gets old.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
And now I'm gearing up for our Las Vegas weekend
and it's going to be fantastic for memorial growths.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Look, yeah, I'm confused here the longevity of all of this.
I mean, do you sneak too what what I mean?
But when you walk out on that stage now, how
is it different than walking out on the stage let's
say fifteen years ago.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Oh, it's completely different, you know.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
I think what's really fun about this band is, like,
you know, there's a lot of there's a lot of
things we used to have to do, like you know,
early days, like a lot of crazy production and you know,
a lot of like pyro and video walls and all
of this stuff. It's like, now people just want to
be there with us in that moment hearing the music.
It's kind of crazy, like we're seeing We love putting
on a huge production obviously because you've seen our shows.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
We do that, but like we've learned.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
That like half the time, they just want to be
in a place where they can see us and hear
us really well and just be there and just be present.
And that's why shows like in Las Vegas this weekend
or in the park at the MGM Theater, and it's
a more intimate venue than like an arena or stadium.
So like it's super fun. But there's four nights. So
each night we've been talking about our set list. It's
like what are we gonna do? How are we gonna
switch it up? And like what are And that's the

(03:17):
best part food for us, Like every night we try
to change the set so it is different for us.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
No, Kevin, you bring up an interesting point about how
they just want to see it raw and real and
there's no reason to blow things up on stage. But
she said, Hi, Hello, you know what I see. I
see this trend on the way as we are diving
into these oceans of AI, this AI that I really

(03:43):
think people are starting to truly resist it and wanting fresh, natural, organic, authentic,
and I really think you can't lose going that way.
Do you agree with that?

Speaker 3 (03:54):
I do in the sense of like this stuff, I
will say I am like become an obsessed guy and
it comes to AI stuff, like I've been building a
lot with incredible tools that are out there for us
and for our business, for myself, like very exciting stuff
that you can do now as like a creator, like.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
You can really build really unique, really unique things.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
But from an authenticity standpoint, I think going back to
like like beta level stuff and like analog and feeling
like disconnected and feeling present. Like I think there's gonna
be like a wave, like a trend's happening where like
you're gonna go and it's gonna be like no phone's
at my show, like zero technology at the show, and
it's gonna be like there's gonna be like like really jarring.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Things that I think people are gonna try to do.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
Uh a jet GBT. How can I appear to be
more authentic?

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Exactly?

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Four days in Vegas sounds like a hell of a party.
What do you guys do during the daytime?

Speaker 2 (04:47):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (04:48):
Man, you know, we do golf. It's hot, so it's nice,
but like, you know, hang with the pool. I'm actually
really excited this trip. Danielle has a bachelorette party for
her cousin's wedding coming up, so she's unable to join me,
But I'm actually taking my girls, So I'm going to
be like doing the dad hang with the girls for
the whole weekend in Vegas, which is really kind of

(05:08):
I have taken Alina on a trip like one on
one a couple of times, but this will be my first,
Like Dad's doing it with both the girls and just
me and Valentina too, which will be really really cool.
So we're gonna go see the Wizard of Oz at
this sphere?

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Oh je yeah, oh my god. Do you know to
see a Jonas Brothers concert at the sphere would be titilating.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
I'm sure people people keep saying this to us, and
I don't disagree with that idea.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
That could be.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
Wait, I'm going totally against the AI the authentic thing.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Well, no, no, no, no, no no, we're still there. It's authentic.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
That's immersive art. It's still in art form. Somebody has
to build it. If daddy takes daughters to Las Vegas,
I think a nice burlesque show.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
Oh yeah, sure, it's really yeah, that's I want to
have a wife that I come home to.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
I love the fact that all these new kids from like,
you know, the next generation are falling in love with
you guys too.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
So I saw a video of.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
The three of you the other day with a little
girl who is like your biggest fan, and she ran
over to all of you and was giving you hugs
and props. It was the cutest thing.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
I mean, that's got to be important.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
It's weird.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
We're definitely the most amazing thing that it's continuing to grow.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
I'll say like a couple things that I think has happened.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
One, the generation has grown up with us, right, They
are now in their mid to late thirties, and just
like we are, and you know, I'm damn near forty.
But like it's one of those things where they are
having kids and they have so their favorite band is
the Jones Brothers, and they're introducing them in the car
on the way to school and listening to the music.
And it's very very cool to see the continuation of

(06:45):
the generations grow. But then I think, like back to
like just this last holiday season, the Christmas Movie, I
think was one of those things where a lot of
people sat as a family and watched it, which I'm
very grateful for. And then even more than that, like
we're all parents now, so we can associate and understand.
But I think the thing that's going to probably be
the next generation's growth even further is the fact that

(07:05):
we have Camp Rock three coming out this year.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
That's all right, so Kevin, let's talk about little Things.
This song. You know, I was introduced to Little Things
before I heard it online on Instagram with all the
polaroid photos you know from your past and brilliantly done.
There's something different about it. Kevin Jonas song dropping very

(07:27):
different and unique than Jonas brothers song. It seems like
such a personal thing that you're dropping. I'm not saying
that that that your brothers don't do the same thing.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
I think you're right though, like they do their own
personal versions of things, right, Like Nick's album recently was
incredible and extremely personal, gut Punch, and the songs you
had in Sunday's Best were that. I think when we
do projects that are our own, it does allow us
to be much more you said it again, but authentic
to ourselves, right because we have three voices in the room.

(07:58):
Like I could talk about, you know, my my journey
with my wife, but it might not be the same
as for Nick, and it might not be the same
for Joe. And you know, we write, We do write,
and specificity is I hope that's it's a hard word
to say, but we also write with kind of broad intention,
so it's kind of have to do both and we

(08:19):
balance that for sure.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Well.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
The relatability of little things to me, to everyone, it's
it's of course, it's our own unique experience to apply
it to our lives or apply our lives to it,
talk about little things, where it came from, how it
was born, and where it is now as we reat
to listen to it.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
It's amazing.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
Thank you again, by the way, for the support on it.
I got a phone call. I was actually traveling when
I got your phone call. I missed it. I apologize
I was sleeping, but I will say I think Little
Things for me was the same team that helped me
with Changing. I took like twenty years trying to find
like what a Kevin Jones' song sounded like, you know,
And I've recorded a lot I've done like in my

(08:59):
a little bit more country, am I a little bit
more pop?

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Am I a little bit this? And I just want
to do some cover songs and do it my way.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
Like I've recorded a lot of music over the years,
and just nothing really worked for me. Like felt was
truly like the thing when I heard Changing, I felt like,
oh my god, this is it.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
I felt like I.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
Owned that song and like knew that song and lived
that song, which was really important to me. But then
beyond that, I actually felt like when I heard this
song from the same team.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
They're like, we think we got the next one, and
they sent it to me.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
I will say I played it for the guys at
our writing camp after I'd cut it, recorded it and
didn't put it. They both said like, oh, no, this
should be a Jonah's Brother song. So I held onto
it for this long because I thought we were going
to do it as a Jonah's Brother songs. So I
got the stamp of approval kind of by that direction,
like them being like, oh, we're going to do this
one together.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
What changed?

Speaker 1 (09:49):
Why did you do together?

Speaker 2 (09:51):
You know? It was timing.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
It's like we have another project where you know we're
working on and it doesn't actually fall in line exactly
the same right thing.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
So I was like, I'm taking it.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
Back, like it of course, it's good, it was meant
to be this way. Well, I'm gonna play it now,
and I want everyone to listen, listen to the words
of this song and go back and look at the
lyrics later, because sometimes I'm a little slow and stupid,
so I love looking at the lyrics later.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
But it's important the lyrics that Yeah, the lyrics of
this song are super important to me because it's like
they are the littlest contented but like the littlest things
in the relationship that matter.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
And for me, we live a crazy, big life.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
And I even say it in this you know, it's
not the big house, it's not the first last playing tickets,
it's not any of that. It's just the fact that
we spend time together and I get to get home
to you, and that that's what I live every single
day with.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Danielle.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
Wow, Kevin, thank you for thank you for talking to
us today, and welcome home. And when you back, just
you're back on the for Las Vegas.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
Then I am.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
We leave tomorrow for the first show, like come back,
you're at the kids, go back. But yeah, it's we're excited, man.
So much more is about to happen and be announced,
so be ready.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
Well, thank you and thank you for this, Jim. It's
my other life, all right, go work it off, work
it out, hey. And by the way, thank you for
the song. The lyrics mean so many great things to
everyone and me included.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
Well, we love you and family. We can't wait to
have a nice little family dinner with you guys, so.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
Soon, let's go.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
We're always eating around here.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
Kevin, thank you. I'm going to play little things right now.
