Hey, everyone, Welcome the Monday's Morbid Minute, a brand new
weekly bonus episode of Mother Nos Death. This is your
quick rundown of the week's most fascinating stories involving death, disease, medicine,
and injury, making headlines and rippling through the pop culture.
We'll tease the cases here, then we'll do a deep
dive into the pathology, forensics, and medical mysteries later on

(00:25):
in our normal Mother Knows Death episodes, in articles over
in the Grossroom, and during our weekly YouTube live bonus
episode exclusively for Grossroom members. If it's dark, disturbing, medically bizarre,
or just too good not to dissect, you'll hear it
first on Monday's Morbid Minute. Okay, let's get started with

(00:49):
crime and court cases. Actor director and Emmy Award winner

and the husband of actress Melissa Gilbert, is finally in
police custody. Authorities issued and arrest warrant related to sexual

(01:10):
occurred decades ago while Busfield was working in television. After
the arrest warrant was issued, his whereabouts were unknown for
days until he finally surrendered to law enforcement, was taken
into custody, and has since denied all allegations in a
video he made online. The case is still currently moving
through the criminal court system, with prosecutors seeking to keep

(01:32):

In West Virginia, a stepmother has been charged with murder
after her so averely malnourished eleven year old stepchild died
in her care. Authorities say the autopsy revealed prolonged neglect
and starvation. Prosecutors upgraded the charges following medical findings, and

(02:13):
the case remains under investigation. In Pennsylvania, an eleven year
old boy is being handled in juvenile court after admitting
to fatally shooting his adoptive father during a dispute over
a Nintendo switch. Investigators say the child accessed a firearm
in the home and called nine one one after the shooting,

(02:35):
raising renewed concerns about gun access and storage in households
with children. Several sexual exploitation cases have also made the
news headlines this week. A Tennessee church deacon has been
charged after explicit images of his teenage babysitter were discovered
on his phone by his wife while she was holding

(02:57):
his phone during a dental procedure. In Florida, an o'callaman
was arrested after allegedly creating and possessing AI generated Sato
masochistic child sexual abuse material. In Michigan, a mother is
facing felony child abuse charges after allegedly holding a six

year old boy underwater in a swimming pool as retaliation
for bullying her son. She was arrested and booked on
a charge of aggravated child abuse. A man was arrested
on January fifteenth during a joint manhunt that began after
a thirty seven year old woman was found dead. Police
say her death was suspicious and was being treated as

(03:40):
a homicide. When authorities found and detained the man, he
was wearing a purple hooded sweatshirt that read I will
put you in a trunk and help people look for you,
stop playing with me. In medicine and health news, a
twenty one year old woman seeking care for persistent eyes

(04:00):
learned her symptoms were caused by a parasite affecting her cornea.
Doctors identified the infection after her condition worsened and she
underwent treatment to preserve her vision. A mother was found
not guilty by reason of insanity after her two year
old child died with toxic levels of benadryl in his system.

(04:21):
Medical experts testified that she was experiencing a severe mental
health crisis at the time. She has been committed to
a psychiatric facility. A lawsuit was filed against Pernuvo, a
company offering elective full body MRI scans, after a man
had a scan and was given a clean bill of health,

(04:41):
only to suffer a life threatening stroke eight months later.
In the suit, he alleges that the company overlooks signs
of trouble and scans of his cerebral arteries. Freak accidents
and unexpected deaths this week include two best friends vacationing
in Florida who died after a a deep sand hole
collapsed while they were digging in the beach. First responders

worked for hours to recover them, but both were pronounced
dead at the scene. Officials continue to warn about the
extreme danger of digging large holes in sand. A grocery

are being discussed, and Gene Hackman's new Mexico home, you know,
the one that him and his wife, Betsy Arakawa died in,
is on the market for six point two five million dollars.
We will have much more to say about this later
in the week. In other death news, in washing In State,

(07:00):

commercial flight with the body of his dead wife. Airline
staffs alerted authorities when the woman appeared unresponsive, and investigators
are now determining when and how she died. Investigations into
the body broker industry reveal estimating pricing for human remains,

(07:22):
prompting renewed concerns about how donated bodies are used. A
Pennsylvania editorial warned that donated bodies could be mishandled or
displaced without donor consent, calling for stronger regulation. This, of course,
is a hot topic to discuss after some of the
high profile cases we have covered on the show and
in the Grosser Room this year. Finally, a lawsuit in

(07:46):
New York alleges repeated failures by child welfare agencies contributed
to a teenage girl death after she jumped from the
