Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey guys, welcome to I've never said this before with me,
Tommy Didario, I am so excited to bring you this episode.
So I just got back from LA I was hosting
the iHeartRadio Music Awards Live Red Carpet show, and basically
I was live for two and a half hours talking
to all of the amazing nominees and presenters and music royalty,
(00:23):
and I thought, you know what, I want to bring
you some highlights from that carpet from that two and
a half hour period, I want to bring you some
really fun moments and interviews from the show talking to
some of your favorite artists. So today you were going
to hear my interviews with Ray, who just came out
with another album that is brilliant. It might be one
of my favorite albums I've ever heard of my entire life,
(00:45):
and we have a really fun moment together. You'll also
hear from Kailani, from Nicole Scherzinger, The Pussycats Dolls are
back and reuniting, so we're going to talk about that
new tour. You'll hear from Chihapadas and Ludacris. Two time
Olympic goal winning figure skater Alyssa Leu There's also Ella Langley,
who is an up and coming well I shouldn't even
(01:06):
say up and coming. She's an amazing established country artist,
which she's in her freshman season, we'll say, and I
know she's just gonna go on to be like the
biggest thing in the world. So you're going to really
enjoy this interview with her. Also TLC Music Royalty. So
this is a super fun episode, little bits and pieces
from all of my interviews with the people that you love.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
I hope you guys enjoy.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
Look at this gorgeous vision Tricia paid us.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
How you doing offro I was so excited to be here.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
You are giving us Beetlejuice realness with the sweep hang
a little homage to the Broadway musical that you were starring.
Speaker 4 (01:41):
Yes, I was nominated her Favorite Broadway debut and I lost.
But that's okay because Beetle Juice is forever in my heart.
I love it so much and I'm here to represent.
It's been on Broadway three times in the past six years,
so I had to represent.
Speaker 5 (01:53):
You know, yes, and this hair, I mean, Tricia, it's
everything everything.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
You can't show up and do it.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
I almost did today.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
I didn't have an outfit, and so I was like, oh,
let me just pick something out hanging in my closet.
Speaker 6 (02:06):
I guess I have a.
Speaker 7 (02:07):
Lot of beatles. Just threw something on.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
Please.
Speaker 4 (02:10):
I feel a little HALLOWEENI But that's okay.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
I love that, And I also love that you're doing
it all right. You're singing, you're acting, you're performing, you're influencing,
you're running the world. Oh my god, I love that.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
I want to do I mean, I thought about maybe
running for Congress, but before that, I would love to
do more Broadway since it's like favorite Broadway debut, shout out.
iHeart for having a Broadway category of Broadway. We're so underrepresented.
So like, you know, protect the arts, protect chance people.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
You know all you know all that.
Speaker 7 (02:34):
Wait, I'm going to vote for you when you run
for college.
Speaker 5 (02:37):
You heard it here first for Trish Congress.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Really you would consider it.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
I would consider it. I was considering it earlier this year.
But you can't take any brand deals if you're running
for office in a couple of years. I don't need
a brand now. So maybe if I I'll never run
for Breakfast once I get my coin and then I
can run, you know, what I mean. But yeah, no
brand deals, so no Domino's, no r'sponsor but no.
Speaker 7 (02:57):
I need your food reviews always. That's my favorite, you know,
for the people they need the food.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
Eventual Woods era one hundred percent. But I can still
like pass a bill before going to Congress. You know,
Demielbotto has done it, so I'm still you know, octive.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Yeah, so I'm still alien aj they just did.
Speaker 4 (03:15):
So There's a lot of queens that are inspiring me
to do, you know, get political a little bit because
we need it right now, you know something you want
to act on so many things I think, like, you know,
protecting girls from the adult film industry is a huge
thing obviously, like immigration, trans writes, you know, just things
that are just not represented enough. And I feel like
we're just not allowed enough voice, you know what I mean.
So I just feel like, you know, trying to protect
you know, everyone.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Someone who stands for something meets, especially someone will tell
and is so outspoken.
Speaker 7 (03:40):
To always away.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
Well I haven't always been, but you need to be
outspoken because it's like people just need to, you know,
we have to have to have a voice, right and
I have kids now, and obviously that like change everything.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
Climate change is real.
Speaker 4 (03:49):
That's like the whole thing that I like recently discovered,
and it's like we need to do stuff to protect
this like Earth, otherwise we're all gonna go. If Michael
Jackson was here, he'd be like, you know where we
are the world?
Speaker 6 (03:57):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (03:57):
Earth song?
Speaker 4 (03:57):
Where you don't like all this stuff like that and
with the movie come, yeah, we need to remember that,
we need to remember that we are all here together.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
Is this her soft launch for your campaign?
Speaker 8 (04:06):
Well?
Speaker 4 (04:06):
I saw lunch earlier and then I got scared everyone
like I went for it. Yeah yeah, I don't know.
Maybe I'll like do some other things for us. It's
a very soft launch in a couple of years maybe yeah.
Speaker 6 (04:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (04:16):
It is also your first award show. You were just
telling us first award show?
Speaker 7 (04:20):
How does that feel?
Speaker 3 (04:21):
Overwhelming?
Speaker 4 (04:22):
I didn't think anybody want to talk to me, and
they pulled me over it because I think you need
a PR person to come up here and I'm just
with my husband, but they're like, do you want to
do one? And I was like yes, absolutely. I found
out I lost my award mid Glam and I almost like, oh,
I shouldn't go but I was like, no, I need
to show the outfit, you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (04:36):
Right now everybody, and we're honored to be talking. They
really are you honestly award or not? You should be
so proud of everything that you've built. Yeah, and you're
in the public eye. You're doing this, achieving your wildest dreams.
What is something that you want people to understand about
you that maybe they don't about me?
Speaker 9 (04:54):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (04:54):
You know that change is possible.
Speaker 4 (04:56):
I feel like a lot of people have seen growth, right,
but it's it's a whole long thing. I feel like
what my speech tonight was going to be like, anything
is possible. Don't let lack of talent. I don't singer, dance,
but I made a Broadway. Don't let lack of intelligence
I never went to college. Don't let lack of anything
stop you. If you have passion and you have people
behind you, like go Ford, don't let your weight stop you.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
Don't let anything stop.
Speaker 6 (05:14):
You, you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
So that's what I just I wanted to have that message.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
How lucky are we that we get to hang out
with Kailani?
Speaker 7 (05:21):
I'm fangirling right now.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
I mean, is.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
You are such a queen such an icon of vision
a vision. How you doing tonight? How you feeling?
Speaker 9 (05:30):
I'm really happy to be here. This is actually like
my first award show performance ever. No way, wait, so
tonight is like personal history for me.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
I'm really excited.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
Well, what can we expect? What do you have up
your sleeve?
Speaker 10 (05:42):
You know?
Speaker 9 (05:42):
I'm came to do the big song kind of do
with some justice, trying a new way, give new life
to it. I'm excited about everybody I worked on it with.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
And yeah, we're just really happy to be here.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
Can we just talk about Folded for a second.
Speaker 5 (05:53):
When you created this iconic, iconic song, did you what
were you thinking going into it? And did you expect
for it to resonate with so many people as it is?
Speaker 9 (06:02):
Honestly, I try not to think about music that way.
I try not to think of the second you start
having those thoughts while you're creating, like it actually has
the opposite effect on you know what the music really does.
The most impactful thing I could have done was to
go inward and say, like, what do what is the
base of this emotion that I want to express? And
how do I keep diving deeper into that feeling? And
we uncovered. You know, all of this big story to
(06:23):
tell with the song.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
So right, well, fans are praising you because I feel
like this era that you're in is very emotional and
vulnerable and open and raw. Why did you decide now
is the time to show a little bit more of
who you are?
Speaker 3 (06:34):
What's my self titled?
Speaker 9 (06:36):
I ran from my self titled for a long time,
but I had.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
A crazy couple of years.
Speaker 9 (06:41):
There was a lot of big changes, a lot of
cool things happening, a lot of growth, and I feel
like it now was the perfect time for me to stamp.
Speaker 5 (06:46):
How do you keep that longevity and how do you
continue evolving as an artist each time?
Speaker 3 (06:51):
You know, I just keep my best foot forward.
Speaker 9 (06:53):
I don't give myself I've probably a bad idea to say,
I don't give myself breaks, but I keep my foot
on the gas and I make sure I really connect
with the people that have always loved me and try
to service those people. Those are people that want to
grow up with you and carry you into their parenthood
and their grandparenthood.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
And those are people that don't just come and go.
Speaker 9 (07:09):
So they've been with me forever and I owe them everything.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Can you talk about the new album. Yeah, probably right, Yeah, Okay,
what can we expect? I know you don't want to
give a lot away? What can we expect? What can
you team?
Speaker 3 (07:21):
It's an R and B album.
Speaker 9 (07:23):
All the features are people that I look up to
in some kind of way and a door. They're all
like classic people who really went into like their worlds
and gave me something that's like a piece of them
that I always loved. They didn't try to match me
and come, you know, to my generation and be like
let me fit into this. They gave me their stamp,
which was really cool. Was a big honor for me,
so that I think that's the coolest part.
Speaker 5 (07:46):
It's so amazing when you see, like when when you
open TikTok or Instagram or something, can you see people
doing like the folded rich child?
Speaker 7 (07:53):
Yeah, Like, how does that feel for you? Because I
tried it one time? Couldn't do it.
Speaker 9 (07:57):
You gotta like wiggle your finger when you do it.
Speaker 7 (07:59):
You're right, Maybe I need to try that.
Speaker 11 (08:00):
Yeah, yeah, I'm not going to do this right?
Speaker 7 (08:04):
No, So how does that feel for you?
Speaker 1 (08:06):
When you see the now?
Speaker 9 (08:07):
It feels cool because I remember all the runs that
made me want to sing and stretch my potential as
a singer all the times I was in the you know,
shower Scream and Brandy and Beyonce, and to have a
moment that people are like, oh, I recognize this as
like some vocal golds, it's really cool for me.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
Well, Kilanie, we love you, We're rooting for you.
Speaker 6 (08:23):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
You don't have the guys? Yeah, thank you?
Speaker 7 (08:26):
The best?
Speaker 1 (08:28):
I mean, did I just sign and go to heaven
because I am with the gorgeous ray? How are you tonight?
Speaker 8 (08:33):
I'm good to me.
Speaker 12 (08:33):
How are you?
Speaker 1 (08:34):
I am wonderful? Can I just tell you congratulations on
everything you've accomplished over the last year. What an explosive year.
You are nominated tonight for Best Lyrics for Where's My Husband?
This song is bold, it is unfiltered. I find of
love it more. What did you want to write this
and talk about this?
Speaker 13 (08:50):
Well?
Speaker 11 (08:51):
You know it does gets a point in your life
where you've been single for so long that you do
have to take matters into your own hands, right, So
I figured, like, what better way to market my single
then write a song you know, very specifically and clearly
and loudly wondering where.
Speaker 8 (09:05):
My husband is? You think it would have helped.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
By now nothing nothing yet.
Speaker 11 (09:10):
No, but I am offline, so maybe I need to
get back in my DMS and have a little look.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
I don't really sen I met mine on Instagram. Yes, magical.
Speaker 8 (09:18):
See, I just have a dream to meet my husband.
Speaker 11 (09:21):
Like that's an old fashioned way out of fun, I know,
but we're heading into the twenty first I mean, we're
very much in the twenty fist century now, so yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
Anyway, I also don't think Ray can just clap into
any bar and just see who comes up to you.
So look, DMS might be the way to go for sure, knows.
So people just scream to you, Ray, where the hell
is my husband? Like in the grocery store in the mall,
and I don't know wherever you go.
Speaker 11 (09:45):
No, I will say that song I feel like definitely
has reached like a really wide audience.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
And yeah, people don't.
Speaker 8 (09:52):
People come up to me and they just that I
love where is my Husband? Which is really nice.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
Yeah, and you have a new album dropping tonight at min.
We are ready for it. What do you want to
share about?
Speaker 11 (10:00):
I'm terrified, I'm so excited at the same time, what
do I want to share?
Speaker 8 (10:03):
I want to share that.
Speaker 11 (10:06):
I'm really sorry for how long the songs are. I
just like long music. I like I've been very unapologetic
gi me, which is somebody who has a lot of
lyrics and a lot of words to say.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
But I'm very.
Speaker 11 (10:18):
Proud of it, and you know, it's the kind of
record I know, as an independent artists that can make
you know.
Speaker 8 (10:23):
It's very just free and there's no.
Speaker 11 (10:26):
Rules, and there's lots of genres and I'm really proud
of I'm just proud of it, and I hope people
out there will connect with it and it'll find those
who need it.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
Yeah, well we can't wait for that.
Speaker 14 (10:34):
Ray.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
We absolutely love you. We're with the Man of the
Hour Ludicris. How you doing, my man?
Speaker 15 (10:45):
And this is my second time bro humbly speaking, I'm good.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
You're good because they brought me back.
Speaker 15 (10:51):
Must I must have done something right, because if they
didn't bring me back then I'd still be worrying.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
Yeah, you're doing, You're hosting, your performing, You're receiving the
I am MARKA.
Speaker 6 (11:00):
Warren.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
How are you balancing it all on one night?
Speaker 2 (11:02):
Listen one thing at a time.
Speaker 15 (11:04):
I gotta pace myself, man, But I'm extremely honored and
it's just a privilege and I just love I started
in radio, so to be able to do this is like.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
A full circle moment.
Speaker 14 (11:13):
Bro.
Speaker 5 (11:14):
You've been in this game for a very long time,
Thank you man. And your music has defined generations.
Speaker 15 (11:20):
I mean I know as a kid, I was always listening.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
To roll Out, roll Out.
Speaker 5 (11:25):
Yeah, And so what is some advice you can give
to a new artist on how to maintain and continue
that long chevity year man?
Speaker 2 (11:33):
Listen?
Speaker 15 (11:33):
Nowadays you just have to gather your own fan base, man,
And like, the more you.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
Do that, more you feed your audience.
Speaker 15 (11:39):
Next thing you know, people are gonna start calling you
and offering you deals and then you decide whether or
not you want to take them.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
So I would just say keep pushing.
Speaker 15 (11:46):
You gotta keep going, keep making content, keep feeding your audience.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
That's it.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
You're also a tremendous actor. We love your movies, Thank
you man. What do you love about acting versus singing?
What's something you get.
Speaker 15 (11:55):
Different from That's such a good question because you know
that it's when you make music. It's like you have
a blank canvas and you're pretty much if you have
a producer is fifty to fifty. For the most part,
you're creating the song. The producer creates the beat.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
Right. In acting, you have a lot of different roles.
Speaker 15 (12:13):
You gotta director, you gotta producer, You have all these
different individuals.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
And you play one piece and you're one piece of
the puzzle.
Speaker 15 (12:19):
So it's just a lot more going on with acting
as opposed to with music. I'm pretty much just creating
something out of nothing on my own. Unless you wrote
the script, directed it, acted in it. It's kind of different, right,
But that doesn't take away from acting. Acting is absolutely amazing.
You have to dive into the character that you're doing
and focus all your energies on that.
Speaker 5 (12:37):
Yeah, And because you're performing tonight, do you ever approach
your performance tonight at the award show versus your performance
when you're on tour or at a festival.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
Is there any differences there?
Speaker 15 (12:48):
It's all different because this is more mostly for camera
as opposed to just the in house audience. So you know,
when you're on tour, you're just performing for a large crowd. Here,
you got to cater to both TV and THEOK and
the crowd.
Speaker 1 (12:59):
You're one up on yourself. I feel like if it's
how I see you. It's like, how did you just
do that?
Speaker 2 (13:03):
And that you gotta do that.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
You put that pressure on yourself, like I want to
go out there and be better than.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
I was last time I tried.
Speaker 15 (13:08):
Yeah, I absolutely have to do that, because that's how
it's how you stay in this game. That's the only way.
You can't stay consistent and just do the same things.
You always got to try to get better and be
a better version of yourself the next day than you
were the day before.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
Not everyone believes that. People posting and you're like, no.
Speaker 15 (13:24):
Man, let them be them and I will continue to
do me And I know that's right.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (13:28):
Man, Yo, when you said you started off in radio,
so do you remember the first moment when you heard
your song.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
On the radio? I do, I definitely do.
Speaker 15 (13:36):
I had a song called Fat Rabbit with Timblin and
it was on his album, and that was my first
time on a commercial album. And not only did I
had the competitor radio station, he played it on his station,
which he's not supposed to do because I worked on
the other stations. So then that's when I knew. I
was like, we got we got something.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
I try to tell you to one of your songs,
which I'm not sure I can see the m of here,
it's moved the second river Minds rhymes with which was literally.
Speaker 7 (14:04):
Out there that way of my upper year.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
What do you think of when you could go out
song man, listen.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
That's when I perform.
Speaker 15 (14:11):
It's almost not fair because all I do is hold
the microphone out to the crowd and I don't have
to say anything, and they're paying me to come and perform,
So that that is a it's a cheat.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
It's a cheat code. That song is a cheat code.
Speaker 5 (14:23):
Yeah, I'm always wondering too, But bring up songs like that,
and when you hear some of your older catalog, like
have moments on TikTok because last year there was a
training going around in my chick.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
Bat yeah exact when you and I used it.
Speaker 5 (14:36):
I did a bunch of TikTok too, So I'm like,
when you see that type of stuff, how does that
feel when it's like, oh wow, that song came out.
Speaker 7 (14:41):
So long ago.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
I love the kids are resonating with it.
Speaker 15 (14:43):
Bro, when you make a song, you don't know if
it's going to last for one day or you know,
like one hundred years so for it to be over
twenty five years man and still seeing those type of
trends go on with a catalog, it just lets me
know how much I'm appreciated.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
And I just want to let everybody know I appreciate
you right back.
Speaker 7 (14:58):
Yeah, we appreciate you.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
Who has done it all? Is there something you have
your eye on where you're like, you know what, I
haven't done that yet.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
That'd be cool.
Speaker 15 (15:05):
I was gonna Oscar winning movie, but one day I
got to take home that Oscar.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
Yeah, bro, Yeah, that's happening. There you go.
Speaker 7 (15:11):
We're manifesting that. That's happening.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
Yeah, I believe it. What I love about you too
as an actor, if I can give you some props
for me, is you have a great comedic element to
you too.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
Thank you, man.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
I don't know if everyone realizes, but you can do
comedy and you can do it well.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
I'm gonna keep on so hopefully somebody will they'll pay attention. Yeah, right,
thank you. Yeah, Yeah, you're appreciated.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
You're good at it. Well, listen, we're big fans of you.
You have a major night ahead of.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
You, major night.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
You gotta go get to work.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
Yes, congratulations, I'll see you guys later on thank you.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
Yes, sir, I am standing here with Olympic Royalty come
time gold winning champion Melyssaly you. How are you doing?
Speaker 6 (15:47):
Kon thank you?
Speaker 3 (15:48):
I'm doing good. I feel good, so amazing.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
Well, we are so excited to have you here. You
of course took over the Olympics. We were glued to
our screens watching you. You were such a phenomenal athlete
this whole season. You're in a bit of a bubble.
So what has it been like coming back stateside and
really feeling the love?
Speaker 7 (16:04):
Great choice of work?
Speaker 16 (16:05):
Yeah, good, good wording. It's been really crazy, but I've
just been trying to stay grounded and I'm back out
on ice every now and then.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
So it's been good.
Speaker 5 (16:16):
And speaking of state side, obviously that performance was insane amazing,
so talked about everywhere. You're incredible. What was it What
was the decision behind choosing that song?
Speaker 2 (16:27):
Well?
Speaker 16 (16:27):
I love that song a lot. You know Pink Panthers
Sons are they really did that and then I just
had I was like, I could envision some Q choreo
to this, and I just put all nice.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
It was truly brilliant and what I really admire I
love about your story is you're someone who took time
away for you. You took care of your mind, your body,
your spirit. You knew you knew you needed to take
a pause, and you came back and won everything.
Speaker 14 (16:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
How important was it for you to take that time
for you?
Speaker 15 (16:54):
Yeah?
Speaker 16 (16:55):
I mean I think taking breaks for your mental health
and just yourself in general is really important.
Speaker 6 (17:00):
I didn't know what I wanted to do, and in
Nord to live.
Speaker 16 (17:03):
A different life, you have to make different choices.
Speaker 6 (17:05):
So that's what I did.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
But let me tell you, it's not easy to do
that when you're at the top of your game. It's
not easy to do. So you're an inspiration for so
many people watching who think, you know what I need
to focus on me?
Speaker 15 (17:15):
Do you have?
Speaker 1 (17:15):
Do you realize what you've put out in the world
with that Looky?
Speaker 16 (17:19):
I didn't, but I'm glad that I'm able to show
people that there can be a different perspective.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
All right, I am here with best New Artists and
Country Ella Langley, How you do.
Speaker 7 (17:31):
Want to knowing?
Speaker 8 (17:32):
Great?
Speaker 2 (17:33):
You were great?
Speaker 11 (17:33):
Great?
Speaker 1 (17:34):
You were up for a few awards tonight. Honest, the
best new artists in country, best lyricsuse in Texas, which
is I mean, that's that's.
Speaker 8 (17:41):
A stack category tonight. That's crazy.
Speaker 1 (17:43):
Can you just talk about that song? Yeah, really quick?
Speaker 5 (17:45):
That talk is so incredible, the storytelling obviously, the lyrics.
Speaker 7 (17:49):
How did that song come about?
Speaker 11 (17:51):
Well?
Speaker 14 (17:51):
I wrote it was one of my favorite artists and friends.
Now our name is Mariana Lambert, and another good friend
of mine, Joy Beth, and another guy named Luke Dick,
and we were just in a writer's retreat and she
was telling me the story about how she had a
kangaroo and her passenger seat and she got pulled over
and the cop was like, oh, you have Texas plates,
And I went, well, she's from Texas.
Speaker 8 (18:11):
I can tell.
Speaker 14 (18:12):
And literally just from that phrase, the she's from Texas
I can tell by the way kind of just fell
out and wow, I think we all latched onto that
story of oh he picked the other girl.
Speaker 8 (18:23):
Yeah, you know, well someone else.
Speaker 5 (18:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 14 (18:25):
I think everyone's had a crush and at some point
that crush was more into somebody else at one point.
Speaker 8 (18:31):
If not, then lucky you or you're lying.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
That's right, right, Like I said, relatable. We've all been there,
we've all done that. Yeah, and that's why I think
your music is resonating too. It's like you talk about
things in a really fun way that people have experienced.
What do you want people to know who maybe haven't
heard your music yet, you were just discovering you. What
do you want them to know about your work as
an artist, what you stand for, what you represent?
Speaker 8 (18:53):
You know, I just represent. My favorite thing is playing
the shows.
Speaker 14 (18:56):
I love writing the songs, I love the studio, but
I love playing the shows. And I just want my
music to represent welcome this right, fun, come to the show,
have a great time. When you're listening to the music,
it's not for just this person or just this person.
I want it to feel like music for everyone, you know.
And so when it comes to my music, I think
it's just that it's a little bit of something for everybody.
Speaker 5 (19:18):
Yeah, And because you just talked about live shows, we
have so many incredible performances tonight. Is there anyone in
particular that you're excited to see.
Speaker 14 (19:26):
I'm excited to see Laney Place. I know I've seen
her a lot.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
But she's always shit.
Speaker 14 (19:30):
I just can't Everything she does is just how do
you breathe? Like that is saying At the same time,
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (19:36):

your first iHeart music a word.

theater I got saying that. The royalty like Taylor Swift right, like, yeah,
maybe you'll bump into Are you a Taylor fan?
Speaker 6 (19:49):

Speaker 14 (19:50):
I mean, come on, starting out in country music. She
just did something so cool at such a young age.
And I've been a fan of her for so long,
and I am such a fan of how she takes
hold her for artistry and whatever's in her brain.
Speaker 8 (20:02):
She's not afraid to put it out there.
Speaker 1 (20:04):

keeping our eye on you. This is just the beginning.

you guys. We I'll speak for myself. I grew up
listening to you and loving you and hearing your words,
really hearing your words and what you had to say,
and you're responsible for making so many people feel seen,
feel valid, feel heard. What messages do you think that
you put out then are resonating more than ever today?
Speaker 13 (21:49):
I'm pretty I'm pretty for the most part, especially with
social media and the way people are so judgmental and
bullies all that stuff. It's just all still is relevant today,
Like as if I wrote it today, anything else come
to mine?
Speaker 10 (22:06):
No, that's I said, un pretty, that's I mean that
for sure. I mean waterfalls. Yeah, you know what I mean.
Speaker 6 (22:13):
I have to say.
Speaker 10 (22:14):
You know, if I weren't in TLC, I would be
a huge fan of be my very growthrid mainly because
of the lyrical funted you know what I mean. We
can jam and all that. But you know, to your point, listen,
really listening.
Speaker 6 (22:27):
I just love the lyrical content.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
Is there a moment from your career is that if
you still look at and think, oh my god, that.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
Was surreal, all of it.
Speaker 6 (22:37):
Yeah, our whole career has been really real.
Speaker 13 (22:40):
Okay, very much. So we've had some ups and downs
from triumphs. So we're still here and that's a blessing.
So that's all that counts.

for buttons. They're excited to reimagine the music and like
you know, this is for we gotta hit it for
our OG fans. But also we got a new generation
out there, right, so we imagine the songs had some
(25:06):
musical interlude, some mashups to change it up to, like
just really think outside of the box and push ourselves
on this tour.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
I do feel a little bummed because I don't know
if you're going to be performing stick with you, because
you did say it's not your favorite to perform, Nicole, which.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
Was I love stick with you.
Speaker 6 (25:23):
It's just because when I sing, it is so.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
Long to keep singing. That's right, you go to the bridge,
you keep going to that bridge.
Speaker 12 (25:31):
No, but you know what's going to be amazing is
because the fans, the audience, they got to be singing
along and they got to be carrying that song.
Speaker 5 (25:38):
Of course you can just put the micro Yeah.
Speaker 6 (25:41):
Well we're gonna have the breakdowns and everything.
Speaker 12 (25:44):
We'll break it down just a hand.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
Yeah yeah, wait, wait a minute, that totally. There's so
much to talk about. We have to talk about what
you're nominated for building the band. So what do you
love about shaping artists careers and being a part of
that side of the missus, helping mold them into who
they're going to be.
Speaker 12 (26:00):
Babe, I love nothing more than connecting with an audience
and fans, singing and music and another gift that God
has blessed me with is mentoring people.
Speaker 7 (26:09):
I feel like.
Speaker 12 (26:09):
As an artist who's been on many different spectrums, I've
lived in so many different worlds, whether it's the theater,
whether it's film, whether it's music theater, whether it's the
pop stage, I feel like it could be a proper
artist ambassador. It doesn't matter who you are. I just
feel like I just love helping people and artists blossom
(26:32):
and become the best artists that they possibly can be.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
I take pride and I've been doing it for many years.
Speaker 12 (26:38):
Started out on X Factor and the most successful judge
on X Factor. I know that's right, Simon, I know
that's right, but it's awesome.
Speaker 6 (26:47):
It's just great. I'm so grateful that Netflix got me
on this show.
Speaker 12 (26:50):
With building the band and the talent is just extraordinary.
Speaker 1 (26:54):
On that show, well, we are seeing everything you're doing literal.
We love seeing everything you're doing. I know you have
to run, so unfortunately we have twenty thousand more questions
by don't call robe, keep killing it, keep inspiring, keep
doing your thing, and get back to Broadway soon after
this pop era, which I will be at because we
want to.
