Speaker 1 (00:01):
Get your hands together, we're going to start the party.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
I'm ready to party!

Speaker 3 (00:05):
The Elvis Duran After Party.

Speaker 4 (00:10):
Welcome to the After Party Podcast. God knows we always
talk about some weird crap on this show. And including
this crap that's been on our list of crap to
talk about.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
Human odor. Human odor.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Yuck.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
You've heard us talk about it. Yeah. I mean, all
the way from, you know, oh, God, I stank.

Speaker 4 (00:32):
I really need to take a shower, to people who
don't want to wear deodorant because it's a turn-on for
some other people, to people who sell their.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
Unmentionables, their undergarments that are somewhat stanky.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Right.

Speaker 4 (00:47):
And this is men and women selling this stuff. I've
seen it on both sides of the aisle, if you
want to call it that.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Do we have someone on the phone? Rachel's here. Where's Rachel?
Punch up Rachel. Let's get to the meat and potatoes
of this.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
So, Rachel, talking about human odor on our show, it's
not unusual, but when a total stranger wants to buy
your human odor through mail, you actually can produce this, right?

Speaker 3 (01:18):
And you actually make a good living at it.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
I wouldn't say make a living out of it, but yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Make good money off of it. Rachel, I read your text.
I got it back here.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
I've made hundreds of dollars selling underwear, often thongs, that
people want me to get stinky and sweaty in first.
You'll work out with them an extended time, work out,
and then you'll have their address.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
You'll put it in some sort of vessel.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
And you'll mail it off to it. Okay, first of all,
the people who are buying this from you, is it
mainly men?

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Mainly, but there have been definitely women as well, yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
Do they know what you look like otherwise, or is
it just words that you put on it?

Speaker 2 (02:03):
No, not all of them. For the most part, they don't.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (02:06):
How did you start advertising?

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Really, I was interested in the psychology of it. So
I made an account on Twitter and it's been faceless
and people just instantly start buying when you know the
right keywords and they find you. Wow.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
Well, I got to tell you, timing is everything. The
power of radio is immense. If you want to advertise
on our show.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Do you think we would take money for that? I
don't know.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Go to the sales floor and ask that question. Oh
my God, I'll do live reads for her. Yes, order now.
Use the promo code Elvis.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Has anyone ever said to you that they were not
sweaty or stinky enough?

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Not necessarily, but people who have repurchased have definitely said, like,
can you work out longer? Can you get them stinkier?

Speaker 3 (03:02):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
She got repurchasers.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Okay, so let's go back to what you said earlier.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
You said that, Rachel, you said that you were interested
in the whole topic because of the psychology of it.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
What was it that drew you to this?

Speaker 6 (03:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Why people want it and what about it makes them
excited and happy and how they'll respond to it and what,
you know, what they say when they get it and
how they react. It's interesting.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
So you, do you actually have conversations with them going, Hey,
by the way, I'm just kind of wondering, I'm curious
why you're doing this or why you really want them.
And what is it about me and my underwear that
makes you so happy? I mean, do you have these conversations?

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Yeah, yeah, all the time. It's actually part of the
most fun of it, you know, just getting those answers.
And people are, I mean, they're just normal people, you know.
They're just enjoying their thing. They just kind of enjoy
the anonymous factor of not necessarily having to know exactly

(04:09):
who I am or me know who they are, but
they kind of get what they want. And they just,
a lot of them like the realness, the rawness of it.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Oh, God, that is definitely a factor. Absolutely.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
Now, is this something that you, through your studies, have
maybe felt that you yourself are sort of into this
or just supplying?

Speaker 2 (04:32):
No, I'm not into it myself, just supplying it. Okay.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
Any questions, guys? Oh, so many.

Speaker 7 (04:40):
Like when somebody gets one, are you usually on the
phone with them or any kind of communication with them
when they unbox it? Is there a review process when
they get it?

Speaker 2 (04:49):
They will sometimes send videos of themselves opening it and
smelling it.

Speaker 5 (04:55):
That's not what I thought you were going to say.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Oh, I don't want to do this.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
Okay. Gandhi, you or Danielle, do you have any thoughts here?

Speaker 4 (05:04):
I'm trying to steer it away from the pervy guys
for just a moment so the women can be a
part of this.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
Go ahead, please.

Speaker 5 (05:09):
No, I'm very interested because you said that this was
about the psychology and you're sort of doing a little
bit of research about it. Is there a typical profile
for the person that is seeking stanky underwear?

Speaker 2 (05:21):
No, no. You could walk by 10 of them in
a day. Interesting.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Yeah, because remember when we went to that sex club?

Speaker 2 (05:30):
Remember? Yes.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
And there were these business guys dressed in suits. Like,
you would never have thought, like, well, this guy is
going to take his clothes off and let this woman
spank him and handcuff him. But it happened.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (05:42):
Well, you know, and I love that part of that
because it really talks about the psychology of, let's say,
a fi-di guy, you know, financial dude who's, like, screaming
high-velocity orders.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
And yelling at people all day.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
He needs to be put in his place at the
end of the day.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Right.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
So from now on, because of what you said, Rachel,
as you said, you could walk by 10 people and
never know it's them. I'm going to start profiling people
in my head. I'm going to say out loud, actually.
See that guy over there?

Speaker 3 (06:08):
I think he likes the smell of stanky underwear.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Yep.

Speaker 5 (06:11):
Undie sniffer. Do you know if any of these people
have significant others and they're out seeking new undies?

Speaker 3 (06:17):
Oh, they do.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Oh, they do? Yeah. Yeah. Lots of them have partners.
And more than you would think, the partners know about
it and just don't mind. Right.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
Well, so would some people think it's cheating? But you're
saying that a lot of people support it because it's anti-cheating.
It's anonymous and there's no connection other than, you know,
there's a couple of strings attached.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Yeah, there's no connection. It's almost like a business transaction.
And they like being able to just be their normal
selves in a sense. You know, not being judged and
just having someone be interested and open to hearing what
they have to say. I mean, there are people who
have sent me photos of themselves on vacation. You know,

(07:00):
they are just connecting, saying hi, and showing me that
they brought them on vacation with them.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Oh, right.

Speaker 5 (07:08):
Okay, but do you judge a little?

Speaker 2 (07:09):
There are some people, some rare cases, but no, for
the most part, it's just interesting to me.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
Okay, did you ever have a client that kind of
freaked you out a little bit and you decided that
was it, you couldn't give them a second pair?

Speaker 2 (07:29):
There's maybe been like three people who have, over years,
who have made really strange comments that I've decided to
steer away from. But no, for the most part, they're
just really nice and friendly people just hoping to get
what they want. Wow.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
Well, yeah, because it seems like it's at a safe distance.
It is usually anonymous, probably.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
And so whoever, whatever profile person it is, they probably
enjoy not having.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
too close of a relationship with you, you know?

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (08:01):
Do you at all, you said that you are making
hundreds and hundreds of dollars off of this. What's the
average going rate for a pair of stanky undies asking
for a friend?

Speaker 2 (08:11):
I've definitely sold pairs for over a hundred dollars.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
Do you buy them in bulk? I mean, do you
have like, Oh, here's another one. Let me run this
off the pole.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Yeah. Yeah. In bulk on sale. Some people will pay
extra if you're willing to go buy like a certain
color or one that they're interested in. Wow.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
God, we are so full of questions.

Speaker 7 (08:34):
It helps you stay in shape as well because you
go to work out. You're like, oh, I got to
get my workout in because I got to sell these.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
See, look at that. There you go. Scotty B., I
knew he would come through with a question.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
Yes, Spence.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
Scotty, what's going on?

Speaker 6 (08:47):
I mean, I heard you say you started on Twitter earlier,
but let's just say somebody was interested in doing this.
What would your recommendation be as to how to start?

Speaker 3 (08:55):
Are you asking for a friend? For a fiancé. Asking
for a fiancé.

Speaker 7 (09:00):
You're going to.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
Let your fiancé do this? Oh, we've talked about it.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Oh, come on now.

Speaker 6 (09:04):
We've talked about it. She has lots of underwear, old
underwear that we said, you know what, let's just sell it.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
People are pervs.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
Yeah, but she's going to have to wear it.

Speaker 5 (09:13):
It can't just be old underwear.

Speaker 6 (09:14):
She works out twice a day, every day.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
Who cares?

Speaker 5 (09:16):
And you're fine with that?

Speaker 2 (09:17):
Absolutely. Money.

Speaker 5 (09:18):
Oh, God, you're gross.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
Anyway. Go ahead.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Yeah, I mean, you can kind of create a persona
and go online, and the people will find you.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
But you have to show your face?

Speaker 2 (09:30):
No.

Speaker 7 (09:30):
Huh.

Speaker 3 (09:31):
Huh. Well, you basically just said she's going to do it.

Speaker 6 (09:34):
Yeah, but I just don't know where. Like, are you
still on X or Twitter or whatever? Or how do
you start?

Speaker 2 (09:42):
Yeah. Yep.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (09:44):
I'm starting to think we should add underwear to the
Elvis Duran merch collection. And someone every day can work
out in it or whatever. Then when we send it
to the listener, they can guess who it was.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
That means we have to ruin it? Yeah. I never
thought I'd see the day where signing it wasn't enough.
There's a signature. Yeah, it depends on what you're signing
it with. DNA signature.

Speaker 4 (10:05):
Rachel, this is so fascinating. And not only do I
find it fascinating, as you do, with the people who
are requesting these things and paying good money for it,
but the fact that you're willing to do it. And
I think, I don't know, I think it's cool. It
doesn't seem like... Does it seem like an activity where
anyone's really getting hurt? Am I correct in saying that?

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Yeah, so he's victimless.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Yeah, no one's really getting hurt. I get money, and
they get smells, and everybody's happy. Wow.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
There you go. All right. Okay. It's not even a crime.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
You might make more money if they know it's your fiancé.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
That's what I'm saying. Let's not get into that. Let's
not do that. I don't know if iHeart would enjoy that.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
Oh, yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
Let's find out.

Speaker 6 (10:52):
It's legal, though, right? It's legal to sell that. I
know on eBay you cannot sell used garments on eBay.
But other sites like Twitter, Instagram, they don't care?

Speaker 2 (11:03):
No, they don't care.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
He's taking notes. Do you include shipping?

Speaker 2 (11:10):
They pay for everything.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
Do you include what?

Speaker 2 (11:13):
Shipping.

Speaker 5 (11:14):
I love the same thing.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
Wait, my next question.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
I shipped my pants. Anyway, thanks for talking with us, Rachel.
It's great knowing you're listening to us. Have a great day.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
Stay in touch.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
Thank you, you too.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
Okay, bye-bye. The Elvis Duran After Party.
