Speaker 1 (00:01):
Put your hands together, and we're gonna start to party.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
And start part I'm ready to party.

Speaker 3 (00:07):
The Elvis Duran after Party.

Speaker 4 (00:17):
It must be Juju Juju Greeny, We're renaming this segment.
It must be Juju. I like that.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
It's like a It's like a sitcom on Disney Channel.

Speaker 4 (00:30):
And let me tell you right now, Juju green is
more than just hanging out with us every every week.
He's also got his own incredible podcast rolling. He's all
over the socials that you need to be checking out
as well. Do a search for straw Hat Goofy and
I'll give you that again at the end of this conversation. Now, Juju,
as I say, every week, we don't go to the theater.

(00:52):
We don't even turn on Netflix or Hulu or name
them all until we talk to you first about what
we should be watching. Are you guys ready for some
ju Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Yeah, all right?

Speaker 4 (01:01):
Where do you want to go?

Speaker 2 (01:03):
All right? So we'll start with two things that are
in the theaters right now, because you guys know I
love the theater, right, I love going And we have
a Pixar movie out, guys. I don't know how much
you guys love Pixar, but I'm a I am a
Pixar nut, and we have an original Pixar movie, which
is I It seems very rare these days. I can't
remember the last time we had one, But Hoppers is

(01:25):
out this weekend, and I'm really excited for everyone to
see this one because people are saying that this is
Pixar back in rare form. I saw it. I went
to the premiere last week, and it actually feels like
Pixar is back in rare form. This is probably the
funniest movie that Pixar has ever done. The comedy, it's
it's I'm not even joking with you, guys. The comedy

(01:46):
is so unhinged and it's so unpredictable and it's so
dang funny that me and my daughter were like cracking
up the entire freaking time. I'm not gonna spoil it,
but there are moments where I literally was like that, like,
you know, so it's great if you don't know what

(02:06):
if you have for the listeners who don't know what
it's about. Hoppers follows a girl named Mabel who's really
into the environment, really into nature, and she finds out
that a glade is in danger of going like instinct
for favor of a highway, so she pulls an avatar,
puts her mind in the body of a robot beaver
to talk to the animals, to convince them to basically

(02:29):
save their own glade. And there's a lot more that
goes into it. It goes really unhinged, and I was
really surprised at all the turns that it took. But
it's really good. I really enjoyed Poppers.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
I just love the thought of putting my body into
a robot beaver. This is this is a film for me.
This sounds like it would be a lot of fun.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
It is a lot of fun.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
I love the people who cannot only bring it to
life through the magic of Pixar in their animation, but
the storyline like that is like fabulous love.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Yeah, yeah, gotta love some stuff like that. Plus Bobby
Mornihan plays like a king, the King Beaver, and I
love me some Bobby.

Speaker 5 (03:08):
So he's very funny.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
He's hilarious.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
It's great.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
King all right, This next one we have, you guys
have probably heard of it, and you guys have probably
heard of the director, a little known woman named Maggie Jillenhall.
She is directing her second feature debut, The Bride, which
is a new take slash continuation on the Bride of
Frankenstein's story. It's very interesting. It's a it's a very

(03:35):
interesting movie.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
It's shot interesting. Interesting usually means what.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Interesting in this case usually usually means it's it's a
divisive movie. And you guys know me whenever a movie
is very divisive. This is where I'm like, everyone needs
to see it because I'm very curious to see their
thoughts on it. As for my thoughts on it, I enjoy.
I do think there is some messaging that gets a

(04:02):
little loss. I feel like Maggie does have things she
wants to say. I don't know if all of them
will crumb across for different audiences. It reminded me of
the first time that I saw Sucker Punch and I
was like, this movie is trash. Then I put those
opinions on the internet and everyone said, what the hell
are you talking about? But then people quietly were telling
me it was trash. So with The Bride, it's the

(04:23):
opposite where I was like, I thought it was pretty cool.
I thought it was interesting, but everyone's like, this movie sucks,
But I'm like, fun I'm not arguing.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
Frankenstein purest like I am, and I.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
Love that we never knew this about you, you know.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Yes, yes, Do you think somebody who really loves the
Bride of Frankenstein and the story and all that would
enjoy it?

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Okay, I'm gonna answer your question with a question. Wow,
this is a very complicated segment. I'm answering your question
with a question. Do you mind if the Bride of
Frankenstein story crossed over with Bonnie and Clyde?

Speaker 5 (05:03):
No?

Speaker 3 (05:03):
Not, that might be interesting. I could see I could
do that.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Then I think you'll dig it. I think you'll one.
It's also shot in Imax. There is a sequence in
the movie that has to do with a ballroom that
I think is amazing. It's beautifully shot, It's awesome. It
literally sticks in your brain. And I do think Jesse
Buckley does put in a really, really good performance. I
think Christian Belle is great in it. But again, it
is a lot to take in, and I do think

(05:27):
it's something that causes a lot of discourse. It makes
me excited because I get to like kind of like
break these things down on my TikTok and my podcast
as well. We talked to Maggie Jillenhall on the podcast,
so like we do do a deep dive into like
her thought process on a lot of things, so I'm
a little bit closer to the movie in her thought process,
whereas like the average person may don't have that benefit.
So listen to the Get Reck with stri Goofy podcasts

(05:49):
if you want a companion piece after seeing the movie
Shameless Plug.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
I've seen it trashed here and there. But you know,
there have been so many movies in the past where
I've seen them trashed and I ended up loving them
myself totally exactly.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
And I'm the guy who tells you, like watch watch
what you watch and figure it.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
Out for if you didn't want us to see it.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
So there is exactly blame the discourse. You can blame me.
I'll take those bullets. I don't mind, all right. This
next one is a pirate movie. How often do we
get a pirate movie that doesn't have Johnny deppin it? Yeah?
Not often. The last and the last one I think
we got had Geena Davis, and that one didn't end

(06:28):
well for anybody. This one, this one, guys, it's called
The Bluff. This movie the bluff is absolutely amazing. I
believe it's done by Agbo Studios. That's the Russo Brothers
company who did things like the Avengers movies and the
Captain America movies. And you know, they're gearing up for
Captain America. Not Captain America. Sorry, they're gearing up for

(06:50):
Avengers Doomsday. So I think this one is worth a
watch in case you want to like really get into that.
But yes, the bluff is just flat out awesome Pirate goodness.
I had a lot of fun with this one. It
has Carl Urban if you like the Boys, if you
like I just saw him in Mortal Kombat too, we'll
talk about that later. Preor Kachropra is in it. And
it's just swashbuckling fun on Prime video. I think it's

(07:12):
one of those movies. I'm starting to have this thing
where sometimes I think it's good for movies to go
to the theater, but then other movies feel great just to
watch it home. And the bluff is great just to
watch it home. Right, So I find like, if you
want to just turn this on and just like watch
like Pirates be Pirates, the bluff is, the bluff is
where it's at.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
We all use a pirate movie.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
Of course, I think we should have.

Speaker 4 (07:36):
One yearly he should say he did say swash buckling
goodness to this where's it playing?

Speaker 2 (07:43):
It is playing on Prime Video?

Speaker 4 (07:45):
Okay, okay, okay.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
So you got some swash buckling godsha say that more off.
This is what we need, more pirate movies because we
need vocabulary like this. And and then finally, and I
know I recommended this last week, but season two who
comes out March tenth, And I told you I am
obsessed with this thing and I'm still obsessed with it.
One Piece drops on Netflix March tenth before we meet again,

(08:08):
so I know I can like save this for next week,
but I'm not going to because I love that that much.
So one Piece season two, it's great. More pirates, Okay,
we got two pirates things in the same year, guys. Okay,
I love pirate stuff, so I'm just saying one Piece again,
that's okay.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
Did you have to see Suburgatory when it was out
in twenty fourteen on It's on Netflix now, It's got
three seasons. It's just this type of show that, like
you know, I was saying everybody in the room that
we have so much crap going on in the world
right now.

Speaker 5 (08:39):
You don't have to think.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
It's about a dad moves his kid from New York
City to the suburbs. It's stupid. It's kind of like Clueless.
The guy who played Elton from Clueless is actually in
it as.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
The dad, and it's just cool.

Speaker 5 (08:51):
It's just stupid. It's dumb.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
It makes you chuckle. It's a half an hour show
and you're like, Okay, I didn't have to think for
half an hour.

Speaker 5 (08:58):
I love this.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
It's nice.

Speaker 4 (08:59):
I like our shot build that. Any questions, Bundy.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
Yeah, you told us you were going to start watching
more documentaries, and I am a documentary weave.

Speaker 5 (09:08):
So I was hoping you have something for me or
do you have something?

Speaker 2 (09:11):
Yes, I do have something. I did watch a documentary.
I held to that promise. However, however, I don't know
when this documentary comes out, so it's not necessarily something
to watch right now. But I will bring this up
something to keep your eye on. Okay, I can I
recommend one of those. It's called what's ai? How I

(09:34):
became a Sorry, it's a difficult word and it's a
new word. It's what's ai? How I became an apocaly optimist. Yes, okay,
So this one, I believe is premiering at south By
Southwest pretty soon. I don't know when it's coming out
this year, but I do want to put everybody's ears
and eyes on it because it is a very fascinating look.

(09:54):
I believe it's made by Daniel Mower, and it's literally
a cocumunity that he made because he was so stressful
about where AI is going and he's about to have
a baby, that he just starts asking a lot of
AI experts, a bunch of them that really like are
afraid of AI, then a bunch who are very positive
about AI. Then he got really depressed and act some

(10:16):
people in the middle. Then he got really depressed and said,
I'm gonna talk to the actual CEOs, just short of
Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. And it's a it's a
really fascinating like if you don't know how serious AI
is and what it can do, it's eye opening. But
if you one of them learn the potential of AI and
white people are so obsessed with it, it's a great watch.
But if you want to just go from the perspective

(10:37):
of a father who's afraid to bring a child into
the world that he doesn't know it's it just has
all of these interesting things working with it. So I
found a very eye opening, also very scary, but also
kind of hopeful at the same time.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
Oh, I mean, I have a gazillion documentaries. The one
that I will always go to is called Assassins. If
you have not watched Assassins, it's about the murder of
Kim Jong Nam.

Speaker 5 (11:01):
The assassination, I should say, and it is.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
It takes so many turns, and it will make you
lose faith in everything in a good way.

Speaker 5 (11:09):
Oh wow, by all means you should watch it.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
The two girls come up to the guy in the
airport and jab him and he dies. No, he sniffed something.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
No, they cover his face. It looks like they're playing around,
playing a little prank on him. They cover his face
and then he dies within like minutes, right, and then the.

Speaker 4 (11:26):
Story goes like they didn't know they did it, or
they didn't know what they were doing.

Speaker 5 (11:30):
If you want to ruin the whole thing, sure, nothing.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
Has nothing to do with not knowing what they're doing.
They knew exactly what they were doing.

Speaker 5 (11:37):
It's fascinating.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
It is literally looking at the poster and it's literally
them covering his face.

Speaker 4 (11:43):
Yeah and enjoy yep, yep.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
So down, there's so many more layers other.

Speaker 4 (11:50):
Than what I just said. So I did not quite
ruin it, but almost.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
Can I can I say one more thing like I
just did? Think of it. It's not a documentary, but
it is a mockumentary, but that feels very much like
a documentary that I think everyone should watch. It's called
American Vandal. Has anybody watched this? Yes? American Van. American
Vandal absolutely great. It's the story. It's the story about

(12:13):
a teenager who gets accused of spray painting phallic things
on the school parking lot cars. But it's played so
seriously as like a true crime documentary and these I
don't know who wrote this, I don't know how smart.
This person must have went to Harvard or something. But
the dots that are connected to figure out who's the

(12:35):
real culprit of this crime. I was so locked in
and I was like, who drew the phallic things? Who
drew it? I need to know? And it was suck
you in, I need the answers. Season one deals with that.
Season two deals with this thing called the browning where
someone put laxative and the water supply and so now
they're trying to figure out who's the culprit who made

(12:57):
all the students poop?

Speaker 4 (12:58):
Like following the the is the Vandals American American American Vandal.
I'm in Where is this playing?

Speaker 2 (13:05):
This is on Netflix. It is on Netflix. And again
it's so funny, but it's but the comedy comes from
the fact that it's played so seriously, like it is
like so straight. It's great.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
All right, Juju, we started in the theater. Pixar is
back with something called Hoppers, and you love it. You
say it is beyond fantastic. Yes, Also the Bride The
Bride is playing. Where's the Bride playing? In theaters and
theaters and look out for the ballroom scene it's supposed
to be. Yes, he came to us with the Bride.
So therefore, even if you read bad reviews, Juju says

(13:40):
you should try it up if you're stream if you're streaming,
check out the bluff on a pirate movie swash Buckling
Good Time. We can use the Pirate movie and that's
on Prime video. And of course you're reminding us that
March tenth is season two of One Piece More Pirates

(14:02):
in Action. Love it. Thank you so much. Juju, Thank
you guys, I you're fabulous. Check out Juju Green of course,
