Speaker 1 (00:14):
Welcome to the Naughty but Nice Show. Shoot, it's Monday morning,
a bright Monday morning, and a bright lovely friend. Garrett
Vogel is joining us. Hey, Garrett, are you there?
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Bobby Shooter? Good morning friend.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
How are you? You look as if you're in a
different location today. Where are you? Oh?
Speaker 2 (00:32):
I'm working from the satellite Naughty but Nice office is
in Westfield, New Jersey.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
A bureau in Jersey gets a lot of good scoop
that bureau does. Go there. I know.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
I'm on the streets looking for a new Housewives. Theer's
we'll talk about in a little bit.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
Oh, we will, we will. Okay, let's jump into the show.
What time is it? My friends? At is D time?
So everybody's still talking about Megan and Harry's big interview.
We told you they're going to do this CBS Sunday Morning,
get aired Sunday morning. We don't have the ratings yet,
but the early numbers look very positive. They don't look
as if they're Oprah numbers. I don't think millions and
millions and millions of people sat down to watch this.
(01:11):
It wasn't like a big two hour hour interview. They
were just part of the show, although they did get
a good six minutes. And so during this interview, Meghan
revealed that she's quote only scratched the surface of all
the details that have gone on in her life. So
she admitted to Oprah that she had suicidal thoughts. Remember
(01:33):
that Jane Parley brought this up, and Megan seemed a
little bit surprised, and she said that she was a
little shocked that they brought it up, but she was
happy to talk about it. And she said that her
journey has only just begun and I haven't even scraped
the surface of my experience. She went on to say
(01:55):
that if she's talking about this and if she can
help somebody, then it's all worth it. But she's still
processing this really really dramatic time in her life where
she was so so sad that she thought about suicide.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
Wow, it is interesting. I mean, it's one of those
things you can't question, you know what I mean. You
can't question illness and mental health, you know, because only
you know the truth, you know. So as consumers of
watching this interview, you have to sit here and you
really can't, you know, call her out on anything, because
she's only speaking how she feels. So you can't tell
(02:34):
her how wrong she is because that's how she feels.
But the interesting thing though, is, as you're talking about
how it was only six minutes versus the big Oprah interview,
do you think Oprah at the end of the day
or this morning? You know, because Oprah is a very
in touch with media, going I got the little edge
on the interview.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
I was there. Yeah, No, I think, yeah, Oprah dose.
Oprah got the interview, second interview, use third interviews are
never as good as the first. So just like movies, Yeah,
that's right, Oprah got that big sit down interview, which
really was historic. The Royals just didn't do interviews like
that at all. This is their first interview together since
doing that. We should point out that there really are
(03:16):
doing something really positive here there and launching this new initiative,
this charity to really empower parents. And part of the
touching part of this package for me was it wasn't
just Harry and Meghan, it was parents who've lost their
children because of online bullying. And that's how Jane Parley,
the interviewer, linked it to Meghan, saying, you know something
about this yourself. You know a little bit about what
(03:38):
it's like to be bullied online. And even if you're
not a Megan fan, you were in power what she yes,
you can admit, what she went through was extraordinary, and
I'm not sure I would have had the strength to
have survived that amount of attention, good or bad. It's
just suddenly she became the most famous person in the
world and she could get away from it. And we're
(04:01):
not built for that, Garretts. We're not taught how to
be that famous.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
I don't think anybody is, even even the people that
lived in the palace, you know, the kids. I mean,
you can't even break it down to Princess Diana. Nobody
really can be even built into it, as much as
they want to put up the facade saying oh yeah, no,
no this is for me. No, it's not for anybody's.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
It's really an awful place. I know some famous people,
and I wouldn't change my life with them for all
their money. They have a lot of money. That's what
I want. I want the money. I don't want the fame.
Meccan's not the opposite she got. She got the fame
and there wasn't that much money.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
Let me tell you, I've seen one of the famous
people that you do know what they have gone through
just to walk out of building to get two blocks,
you know, only only to be jetted off to a
street corner so they could get out and walk back
the opposite way, just to avoid the craziness that their
life brings with them.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
It's not good. And that person's liked. Can you imagine
if you were disliked like Megan. Meghan has this army
of hate to waters. I watched this interview brought me
to tears. To think that kids are in their bedrooms
at night, really going down this rabbit hole of destruction
because of their phones. Is something that I did not
grow up with. So this didn't happen till about what
(05:23):
fifteen sixteen years ago. So when I was a little boy,
I had thoughts in my head and I sat in
my bedroom and I had really sad nights, But I
didn't have a cell phone in my hand that was
interacting with me, that was really giving me a porthole
into this world of hate. And I just can't imagine
my garret. You have young children, This interview with Meghan
(05:44):
and Harry must have really touched your buttons, because this
is gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Two things, because it was relatable, you know, And I
think you can only start to relate something when you
start to live through it, you know what I mean.
So you know, we can all live through the fact
that grew up in an era where cell phones weren't
as accessible and social media wasn't a thing. So there's
that level of it. Then there's the level of children
(06:08):
versus no children, and seeing comparing and contrasting yourself to
a younger generation. But the other thing I realized too,
it kind of brought it brought Megan down to a
human level, you know what I mean. Like she's been
on this pedestal of you know, royal, this royal that
(06:29):
breaking up the family. It brought her down to you know,
our level, you know, just like I can relate to her,
I can. She found something that was relatable to a
lot of people out there, and I think that's what
she needs to to get what she's trying to accomplish
in life out of us all like realizing that hey,
she's just.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
Like us, really smart. Garrett, I think this is a
turning point. I went into this interview feeling very differently
than how I left the interview, and it's here in
my eye. I did after I just said there and
watched it, and I know I was sick of Meghan
and Harry, and I know I'm part of the feeling
that they do too much publicity and they demand their privacy,
(07:10):
but they're always on TV and you know they want
it both ways, and so I do understand all those arguments. However,
after watching this interview it's online today, it's on YouTube,
it really touched me and thought it wasn't really about them,
it was about the kids. There are kids out there
who were fourteen or fifteen and some of them don't
survive this. They had parents on whose children had committed
(07:33):
suicide after being bullied online. It's a real issue, and
I think using their celebrity, their power that Harry and
Meghan have for good is something that's going to change
the way a lot of people think about them, which
brings us to our poll question of the day. Meghan
Markle has shared that she's only just begun to scratch
(07:53):
the surface of all the trauma that she endured. The
question is do you want to hear them more? Should
she reveal more? Meghan's sending the interview that if you
talk about stuff. It really helps. So maybe Meghan, maybe
Meghan should reveal more. What do you think? Hey? Go
votes on our Twitter page, add Milton nice Rob. Her
facebook page is nord he Go said, and be sure
(08:15):
to check back tomorrow to hear your results. Hey, what
are you looking on?
Speaker 2 (08:20):
Well, you know, I think it's time for a new
meme from Ben Affleck. You know we're all used to
the dunkin Donuts, smoking cigarettes, dropping coffee all over the place.
Well there's a new one because he debuted a new haircut,
you know, post trouble with Jennifer Lopez and the marital
rumors of them separating. He has a new faux haircut
(08:41):
like a like a like a mohawk type looking.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
Now.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
I don't know if it goes to anything, because it
was I was reading the story over the weekend that
he is going to play Hulk Hogan.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
Based off of.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
The Gawker story where Hulk Hogan sex tape was revealed.
But I don't know if it has anything to do
with that. He's looking a little you know, bad boy
or she's gotten you know, the the leather jacket on
Red Hot Chili Pepper's T shirt, some some aviator sunglasses
and a motorcycle. The only thing missing the wedding ring,
(09:14):
of course, of course, and of all that, you know,
he goes to the you know, the the longest of
miles just to like change his look, change, put a
motorcycle on, and everybody's looking for his hand. You know,
he should have wore gloves. He should have wore motorcycle gloves.
That would have put the end of everything. But you know,
it's it's kind of interesting, you know, the are we
at the end of a relationship? I think we all agree,
(09:36):
I think they are. And you know, where do they
go from now?
Speaker 1 (09:39):
Yeah, my sources tell me they're not speaking anymore. Now
everything's going through their lawyers. So for a long time
they were emailing, texting, calling. They didn't see a lot
of one another, but they tried to when they were
in the same city. But now I'm told communication is zero.
This divorce is happening, and in fact, ironically, the fact
they're not talking has slowed down the divorce. It slowed
(09:59):
it down because they won't speak to one another. The
good news here is they had an iron clad prenup
and the only thing they purchased together during the marriage
was this sixty million dollar house that's on the market,
so they'll split that. They might lose some money, they
might make some money, they'll split whatever they make.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
They'll split when they don't have kids together.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
They don't have kids together, and so this is actually
going to be quite an easy divorce if they talk
to one another. And at the moment I'm told they
will not speak to one another.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Which is so interesting though, because they signed that prenup
what less than two years ago. When you sign that, like,
obviously you do it just to protect yourself, but you
never think you would use it that quickly, you know
what I mean.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
It's so heartbreaking, it's so heartbreaken. Okay, moving along, The
Real Housewives of New Jersey, Yes, have been put on
hold until at least next year, twenty twenty five. So
we broke the story first that Andy and the brother
executives were thinking about rebooting the entire show like they
did the New York one. Now, when you reboot a
new show, when you fire everybody, they don't get as
(11:01):
big as ratings as what you used to do. However,
you slash your costs and TV at the moment they
would love big ratings. Don't get me wrong. But TV
is not motivated at the moment by ratings. It's rated,
it's motivated by money. Everybody wants to slash the costs.
So these ladies treesa Melissa, they've been on the show
now a long time. They're earning good money. They're not
(11:23):
earning quite as much as what they make out they are,
but they're earning several hundred thousand dollars a season. The
New Ladies earn about fifty sixty seventy thousand. And so
if they fired all these original ladies or what five
to sixty seven of them, and brought in five sixty
seven new people, their costs plummet. And so that's what
(11:43):
I'm told they're doing. People use the New York example
as a failure. You're wrong. It's a huge hit. Not
so many people watch New York. But now it costs
them almost nothing to produce.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
I mean, the easy thing, the Monday Morning quarterbacking of
this situation would be bring in the Jersey Shore ladies.
You know they're of the age. Now they're all out.
Problem is those Jersey Shore they were making a hell
of a lot of money, and I think they would
be taking a pay cut if they were to jump
over to Real Housewives, even though the storylines are already there,
(12:17):
the drama's already there, the audience has grown up with them,
and they would just transition beautifully into Real Housewives. And
I just don't think the money's there for that, though.
It would be the perfect situation for here.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
Yeah. Yeah, I know a celebrity in New York who's
a real New York type celebrity, and they were interested
in doing the Real Housewives of New York And they
approached Bavo and Brather said, we can't afford you. We're
just not paying those salaries anymore. And she's not a superstar.
It's not Ariana Grande. She didn't want it stop Taylor Swift,
but she wanted a decent amount of money and brav
(12:51):
were like, no, we're just not paying that now. So
whenever somebody comes into audition, they look at the bottom
line here, so I think gone are the where celebrities
are going to be joining the show. The Lisa Renner's,
the Denise Richards, they used to love, like as I
wouldn't do it for any amount of money, not for
a million. I just it's not for me. But it's
(13:14):
interesting that this show is evolving, and shows have to evolve.
What was acceptable on American Idol during the first ten
years was not acceptable now. Making fun of people who
clearly have mental health issues not funny now. It was
when Idle shamefully first debuted, And I think the same
with the Housewives. Now people rich people, any people throwing
(13:35):
and spit in and pulling hair. It's just not fun
to watch anymore. So Housewives is going through a major, major,
major change. Okay, quickly, before we get a break, what's
going on with Tory Spelling.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
So I think we've all had that conversation before too,
where it's like, oh man, how do I make some
extra money? So Tory Spelling, you know, going through some
financial issues right now. I think she was saying this
joking around, but she says she's going to have to
consider joining only fans to put her five kids through college,
and which is interesting because her kids, literally all five
(14:10):
of them are of the college age almost She has
a seventeen year old, a sixteen year old, a twelve
year old, eleven year old, and a seven year old.
So by the time the seven year old out there,
she's only like not even a quarterway through paying the
first two kids college. So I mean, I think again
relating to parents, you know what college costs now, and
(14:31):
you only envision what it could cost in years from now.
So for Tory Spelling, who, as we know, the last
name alone is worth you know, millions upond millions upon
millions of dollars though she can't afford it, It's.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
Not scary, it's scary. Just have to fix this system.
It's that rageous to have children and not be able
to afford to get to college drives me crazy. Only
fans triggers me because historically it has a reputation of
being an X rated site right where you can go
on and make money by showing naked photographs, and I
don't really like eddy of that. I try not to judge,
(15:06):
I really do try hard not to judge, but I do.
I do. But what I've learned from poking about a
little bit around the site is you can do other
stuff on there too. It doesn't have to be X
rated if fans are willing to pay you. I think
it's twelve dollars a month or something like that to
watch cooking videos or to what you didn't have to
be x rated, so maybe Tory will do something quite flirtatious.
(15:29):
I think Denise Richards is on there, and I don't
think it's X rated. I think it's more flirty. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
No, I would love to see you make an egg
plant one day.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
You, Garrett, It's very rare that I have anything to say. Okay,
we're going to take a quin recoop. Welcome back to
the Naughty but Nice Show. I'm rom shoot with my idear friend,
Garret Pogel. Hey, Garrett, let's get to the polls. Last show,
(15:58):
we talked about Harry and Meghan's interview on CBS This
Morning ED yesterday. Our question was, will you watch, let's
have a look? Seventy percent said no. Now, if I
look here a little bit, I can break it down
by country. In the UK it's much higher so overall
figure overall, So in the UK, Megan and Harry are
(16:19):
not liked. In America, though it used to be fifty
to fifty. Now it looks as if the pendulum has
swung a little bit, which is a sad thing because
this interview is quite important. Garrett, I understand it, I
said earlier. I get the backlash on Megan and Harry
I'm not necessarily there myself, but I understand why people
find them annoying or they want it both ways. But
this interview is really really powerful and they could save lives.
(16:41):
So maybe give them a second chat.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
I think if you ask people today that same vote,
if you put it out there, think I think it
could have changed a lot.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
I think so this interview helped. It really did help
both of them. Okay, don't forget to vote on today's pole.
Going to write a page an Ordonanize Rob. Her facebook
page Isady Gilds and we sure check back tomorrow. Here
your result. So now it's time for an nicest of
the day. Yep.
Speaker 2 (17:05):
Well, the high school couple is finally getting engaged, allegedly
so Travis Kelsey Taylor Swift. The rumors are that the
buzz is so loud that literally everyone can hear it,
but everyone doesn't know except for Taylor or Travis. According
to insiders, that the engagement is happening soon, but everybody,
(17:26):
of course is denying it. Imagine if they just said yep,
they're getting engaged soon, they would just totally ruin the
buzz at all, you know, So it's only a matter
of time. I mean, Travis is back in Kansas City
getting ready for the football season, hanging out at concerts.
He was at Morgan Wallen on Friday night and he
got to do the big walkout with him. And Taylor's still,
(17:47):
you know, finishing up her tour, and you know, I
think they might even add like a date or two
at the end of it. It looks like that's what
she was going through with a ticketmaster on Friday, that
they put a show on sale, then they took it away.
So those two, those two are still very, very busy.
But obviously, once once touring's over, football seasons underway and
(18:09):
you don't have to worry about much, I think we
could see an engagement. Sometimes I think, hey, this is
what I'm going to call Christmas.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
I'm going to say, oh, that's interesting. This is what
we call in my business. An educated guests, most reporters,
gossip columnists, columnists here, entertainment writers. They know at some
point they will get engaged. So if you say it now,
if you report it now, you probably will get it right.
At some point. It's how long how long do you
have to wait? I hit the phones and I spoke
to all my tailor sources. And they told me Rob
she would have get out of here. They said, we
(18:35):
wouldn't know that. They said, there's just no way she
would tell anybody but her immediate family. That and her
Sirtle's very very closed. He's a little bit more loose slips.
So I have a few. I know, it's amazing I
have sports sources. Now I'm shocked. When I look at
my phone, I've got like NFL people. It's like, who
are you? Are you an NFL inside? Right now? Now
what that means? I've never ever true these people lurry
(19:00):
by phone, but I have to talk. They said they
have no idea. They have no idea. They said, if
they were guessing, yes, they're probably gonna get engaged. But
at the minute, there are no plans. Okay, let's do
and notice the day naughty naughty celebrities snubbed Meghan Markles
at an event in the hampton So, Megan was at
this high profile event in the Hamptons and my friend
Paula frolic over at News Nation. She's reporting that several
(19:22):
celebrities there did not want to take photographs with Megan,
market including Gweneth, including Greece, including Diane soyer. So, when
big celebrities are in a room and they don't have
a snap together, it's normally because they don't want to.
Photographers go out of their ways to put you together.
So I've seen photographers literally grab one person and another
person and put them together for a quick photograph and
(19:43):
you come over here. There's always these photo ops. They're
called step and repeats and so like, there's lots of
opportunities to get these photographs. So the fact that they
didn't might mean somebody was snubbed. That's not nice. I
not is the day. Let's end with a moment a rob.
You're gonna rob you a rub again rob. I love
this quote from Lucille Ball. Now, some of our younger
listeners might not know who Lucille. Wow. I love Lucy.
(20:06):
Watch her on late night TV. She's fantastic. Just want
a real pioneer. But she said the following, and it
really made me stop and think, love yourself first, and
everything falls into line. You really have to love yourself
to get anything done in this world. I didn't love
myself for a really long time growing up, and nothing
(20:27):
really changed in my life the day I started to
allow myself to love me. Life got better and, as
Lucy says, everything fell into line. Learn to love yourselves
just a little bit today, naughties. I'm not asking you
to give yourself a big French kiss. You don't have
to do that yet. But just a little peck on
your cheek today, just a little kindness to yourself. Hey,
(20:49):
that is it for today. Thank you so much for
