Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, welcome to Celebrity Buzz. My name is Garrett.
Now you might be wondering, Hey, you know you do
this with Rob Shooter, you know, once a week or whatever.
But you know what, We're coming at you a few
more days a week. And this show is going to
be like an open door policy where I'm gonna have
some of my best friends from work stopping and hang

(00:22):
out and see what's on their mind in the world
of entertainment. So today I present to you the one,
the Only David.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Hi. David, Hi, Gary. What a great introduction.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Oh please, all right, So David, outside of working here
at the radio station, is quite the entertainment savant.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
Oh yes, I would say, So that's a good way.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Like what like, so for people to get to know
you a little bit better, what would you say? Are
your strengths, like the things that you could always know
one hundred percent about everything when it comes to this
what movies? Movies? Okay, I know you're a big music fan. Yeah,
I was in say concerts, you're at alone? You were

(01:04):
at four concerts last week?

Speaker 3 (01:06):
Oh yeah yeah? And then honestly, like a niche like
fast food news like Froggy.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
All right, fast food news. If we do get to that,
like maybe like uh, someone drops like, uh, you know,
Travis Scott drops another exclusive line at McDonald's or something.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
I'll be there.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
We'll be there and we'll talk about it. So let's
let's start off with the news that pretty much has
just taken over the world. Over the last week and
a half in entertainment, the.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Word Diddy disgusting.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
One hundred and twenty new cases have come forward.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
I just want to say, Grett, like there has never
been a need for Wendy Williams to come back now or.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
It's funny you say that because Wendy just spoke out
instead said that you know pretty much, I told you so.
Why do you think it this long for the world,
Like it was almost like a dirty little secret that
most people knew or or participated in, and then no
one really wanted to talk about it until it was

(02:13):
actually art. He's he's safe behind bars.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Honestly, Like I don't want to be like the person
to say, well, we have to wait until there was evidence,
but that Cassie video like with her in the hotel,
like that.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Sparked everything one hundred percent. And the fact that he
it's just so funny a world I think you and
I will never understand. I would hope that we would
have the money, but not the not the the bad
karma that comes with the people that use that money
for bad things, like paying people off for that video, like.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
That's the hotel workers and you know, like that leak.
But I just remember my coworkers and I downstairs watching him,
my managers too, being like this is disgusting, but also
it all makes sense, right, like and this being taken
care of and quiet, like all that happening as quick
as it did. You just have to believe victims, and

(03:08):
did he It's unfortunately it sounds like he has a
lot of victims.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
But here here's the weird thing too, like uh talking
about all the crazy parties and his quote unquote freak
offs that he had. Did he had, you know, normal
parties too? But the problem is when you see a picture,
you just automatically think it has to be a freak off.
I saw a picture of Regis Philbin, God rest his soul,

(03:33):
you're telling me, not Regius Philbin and his wife. Now,
no regular party, That's what I'm saying. And that's the
problem with the internet. David, like we're never ever going
to get the true story. And honestly, I don't think
there's a tape being shopped around like I'm.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Showing young Justin Bieber doing X, Y and Z, Like
I don't think so whatever the whoever I.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
This is wrong and we shouldn't judge a book by
its cover. But the lawyer that is pretty much false.
Putting out the claims of saying, hey, there's a tape
we're shopping in around. Just the grease and his hair
alone just makes it doesn't feel like it's as believable
as it should be. Everything's I know, you know what
I mean, Like it's weird.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
I just think that it's it's interesting and I'm glad,
like the time is finally coming for him. But like
Wendy Williams said, and this was known, and he never
gave great vibes, like there was always something off even
you know, just looking.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
At it, like looking back at it now, like when
he gave everyone back their music rights, I think it
was not to say that he was trying to right
his wrongs, but he was trying to clean his his
like conscience and soul. And and I could tell you
like I was doing an interview with him before all
this came out. He was he was going to receive

(04:57):
the MTV Icon Award what two years ago, the Vanguard Award,
and they told us please stop talking about it because
it was a story that just came out at the time.
I was like, why are we about the rights? About
the rights? Why would you not want to talk like it?
He knew, like he said, well, that's what I'm saying.
So then you start putting puzzle pieces together. But it's

(05:17):
such a It's one of those things that like when
you look back on twenty twenty four, he's going did
the word Diddy is going to be on the top
of many people's lists. Absolutely, Let's move on to more
positive things. Yeah, okay, where do you lie, David on
the t Swift Travis Kelcey relationship? Are you a fan?

(05:37):
Are you not a fan? Do you hate the fact
that they get talked about more often than anything else?
Where do you lie on the Taylor Swift fandom spectrum? So?

Speaker 3 (05:47):
I love Taylor, as you know, I like Travis, but
I thought he was handsome before, like they were a.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Thing like VH one, a reality show star days or
just like.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
No, not too girl friend, like I followed him when
he was with his acts. That's when I became like, oh, like,
this man is really handsome. I mean, I like, I
like their relationship, but I'm also just, oh my god,
I need to be obsessed.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
I don't have a Travis Kelce jersey.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
You should, you know, but I don't see you as
a football jersey Christmas.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
I have one for J. J. Watt because he's handsome.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
Well based off of that now handsome, I mean, so
if you want to get me one, I would take
a Gronk one from you and then a Travis kelcey
could be.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
I don't own a football jersey. What I'm not a
football jersey guy, Like.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
I said, for me, it's only because based on but.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
You probably own more football jerseys than I.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
Why you want to write it out, make it through
Travis Kelce and Gronk what have it? But I think
going back to it, you know, like I like the
songs that he inspired. But she's happy, and I think
I wasn't expecting him to him to get name dropped
at the VMA's a couple of months, right.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
But you know, you know what bothers me is the
fact that the media just like, so, so everybody's like
too much tallor too much Taylor, too much Taylor. So
what does Taylor do over the last two weeks. She
doesn't go to the game, she doesn't travel to road games,
she's not on the team. People like she she's working,
she's getting ready to finish up her Ears tour in
the US and in Canada, she's putting out new music.

(07:17):
But the fact that people are like trouble in Paradise,
Taylor didn't show up for two games. It wasn't home games. People,
they were playing on the road. Maybe that's why they
were playing in other cities. They weren't playing in Kansas City.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
But she did go to the home game, right the
first one. She went to the home game, the home opener. Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
So for the fact that people, I just find it
funny that people are like, oh, they're in trouble, but
don't talk about Taylor too much because we talk about
Taylor too much. But they might be breaking up because
she hasn't gone to two games.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
That's what I see on Twitter. It's like, you need
a stop showing Taylor. And I'm like, okay, what the
fourteen seconds of this two hour telehas see.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
Her now, David, where you at fandom wise, because I'm
not that big of a fan, but it still has
to be recognized real housewise, I don't watch them.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
So the closest I know clos is that I've gotten
to reality TV over the past couple of years. Secret
Life of Mormon Wives really oh my, so only because
my co workers down Sayers watched it. You talk about
brain rot for six seven hours, Garrett I, And the
only thing about that show that made it so enjoyable

(08:27):
to watch is that I am never going to relate
to them. I'm never going to relate to these women ever,
and that's why I'm like, oh, this is really interesting.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
So I would I would guess, and we're going to
talk about it later. So the Mormon reality show is
what you're watching currently? I finished. I watched it in
two days. You watch it in two days?

Speaker 2 (08:43):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (08:44):
Okay, yeah, So we'll talk about what we're watching segment
we like to call what you're watching. So I just
finished the mister McMahon documentary because I know you recently
just got into wrestling. Only the only the yes, very dramatic.
You watched one video and one viral and the world

(09:04):
thinks you're a big wrestling fan. It's and you know
what this doc wrestling Jersey again, don't know, I'll buy
you John Cena jeorts. I'm not gonna be able to
see him, John. This documentary is right for you, David,
because you're not the fan. Like we have friends. Our
friend Josh, who we have in common, is a huge

(09:24):
fan of wrestling. He kind of like I was talking
to him about this yesterday. He kind of like, I
watched it, but it's stuff I already knew. But for you,
you might be interested because you get a little backstory.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
But he was weird right, like he had a lot
of he is.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
It starts to give off a lot of Diddy vibes,
Diddy slash other vibes. Oh god, okay, you know it's
like it's funny though because he said it like he
there's like three three Vince McMahons. And I don't know
if you like have like a you know, a double personality,
you know, outside of work or whatever. We see the happy,
joyful David here, but he goes there's the businessman, there's

(10:03):
the family man, and there's the character. And his life
became so big. It starts character his Yeah, it all
started to blend so like he almost got lost in himself,
like he got right just on Netflix.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
Yeah that sound like a Netflix R versus the way
that you described it, Like now the way just in
that ends, like the characters started to well, but that's
that's what that's what I took from it, because he
like he got so caught up in himself that he
didn't realize like cameras were rolling any not rolling anymore,
and he still acted the way he did on camera, and.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
People took it that way.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Oh that's so weird.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
So so then that's where all these the interesting thing was,
it was supposed to be a documentary about him. It
turned into a documentary about wrestling, but the last two episodes,
all the news broke about it, so he stopped doing
He stopped doing the documentary, and they had to fill
in the blanks with with with the stories that were
coming out. So that's why. That's just the other The

(11:00):
other thing I watched was Will and Harper. So will
Will Farrell and Harper? Yes, yes, so Will. They were
best friends at SNL. They known each other for thirty years.
Remember when Will Ferrell did like a local beer commercial
in Milwaukee for like the super Bowl like many years ago.

(11:20):
It was because his friend wrote it. He didn't do
it bit for anything else, like the reason why he did.
Will Ferrell did an entire movie in Spanish because he
thought it was funny and his friend wrote it. So
his friend just transitioned to a woman and he found
out about it via email. So during the pandemic, he
got an email while he was while Will Farrell was
filming the Christmas movie Ryan Reynolds and said, Hey, I'm transitioning.

(11:44):
I just hope this doesn't affect our friendship. So what
they did was they traveled from New York to California
and went to all the towns and just learned about
each other and saw if their friendship changed or grew stronger.
And Harper now wanted to go to the spots that

(12:05):
she used to go to as a man to see
if it changed her physically and emotionally and mentally. So
it was very cool to watch that. And then finally
the last thing I watched the other thing back to
wrestling real quick, which I think you would like this.
Did you ever watch Friday Night Lights? It's football? No,
but I've heard great things, so there's a show called Heels.
Do you know Stevenamal he plays He's on the show

(12:29):
Arrow on the CW. Yes, I've seen. It's like about brothers, right,
two brothers, two brothers and like in Georgia and they're
in this independent wrestling and you know they sell lawnmowers
during the day and then they they fight at night
and then but it's kind of like Friday Night Lights.
It's two seasons. It was on Showtime, so you get
a little bit of get a little bit of cursing,

(12:51):
a little bit of skin if you're into it. Netflix.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
Netflix.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
But yeah, and oddly enough, Stevenamal is gonna be in
the Suit spin off. But so that's what I'm watching.
And you are all about Mormon.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
Mormon wives, which it's right, Like I said, it's just
nothing about this is I will never relate to any
of these women and characters on the show. They're just
so funny and out of touch with life.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
And they can't have coffee, right.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
They talk about they are, you know, having sex and
nudity all the time and then have like two three
forty four ounce SODA's every day. But like Starbucks is
where they drug the line.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
All right, So, David, you were a part of something
very viral this week, not that you did personally, you
partake your partook And no, actually no, you went to
another show. I was about to talk about. Sabrina Carpenter.
She did two shows here in New York, in the
New York area at Madison Square Garden Barkley Center. You

(13:50):
went to Barkley Center, right, I went to Barkley's. But
at Madison Square Garden she was doing her right before
she got into I believe nonsense. She just was talking
to the crowd, going, hey, so what do we do?
What should we talk about the fact that I kind
of inadvertently got the Mayor of New York indicted, And
so I totally forgot the fact that she filmed I

(14:13):
believe it was Feather Feather video, the Feather video in Brooklyn,
and there was some shady stuff of how it happened.
People from the church are like, why would we let
a music video happen here, and especially that music video,
and then the Mayor of New York. I looked into
all based off of Sabrina Carpenter. Jesus was a Carpenter
and then but I just find it so funny that

(14:36):
like another thing I wouldn't see on the Bengo card,
Like if you think back to twenty twenty four, did
he and the fact that Sabrina Carpenter inadvertently got the
first time had the New York City mayor the first
time ever indicted on charges of money and fraud. All right,

(14:56):
full review, David? You know this is more of you know,
what are you thinking about? What you're talking about? Entertainment wise?
How do you how do you think we did as
a team.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
I like it.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
I think there's room for improvement.

Speaker 3 (15:09):
I will can I before we go, I watched Beetle
Juice for the first time ever.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
Just beetle Juice, and it was weird.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
I was gonna into it, though, and then I saw
Beetle Juice, beetle Juice.

Speaker 2 (15:23):
I thought that was weird.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
Can I give you a little fact about beetle Juice
and let's play a little game.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
Were you in it?

Speaker 1 (15:28):
No? I wish I was first one. How many minutes
do you think Michael Keaton was in Beetle Juice? It's
like something like fifteen or something, twelve minutes, twelve minutes
and a two hour loss in the prices away. But
you went over. Yeah, you would. You would have lost
back to your but you would have minute a lovely
parting price.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
He is an F bomb, I'm sorry, two f bombs
within the twelve minutes that he's.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
In it, right, in a PG movie. In a PG movie, well,
it was a different time, a different time. But that's funny,
like the only when you see PG and the only
not the same, it's not the same merit only in
Disney movies. That's the only time you would see a PG.
You wouldn't hear any cursing in movies back in the day.
But that's interesting. So from just seeing it currently, what

(16:11):
was your take because there was almost a thirty year
difference between the two films.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
I thought it was weird, but it's also like really entertaining.
It was zany, It was very you know Tim Burton, right,
I thought it was great.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
I always think that they need to make one more
Beetle Juice because, as you know, beetlejuice, beetle juice, beetle juice,
and then it's done, just like just like the now
you See Me, Oh yes, yeah, now you see me.
It should have been not now you See Me too,
it is now you see me now you don't and
that's what it should be. But I leave you near here, David.

(16:46):
All right, door is open for this. You can come
by anytime you want. We're going to record down the
hall almost every day under I'm on the fifth way. Yeah,
whenever you want. Honestly, you could send a text, you
could send an emoji. But the other cool thing too
is if you're listening right now, you're on the iHeartRadio app,
there's a little microphone. You could hit that microphone, send

(17:07):
us a talk back, leave us a review, or you
can ask us a question. We'd love some questions about
what's on your mind, what you want to know more about,
and we can dive into it a little bit more.
So that is David. My name is Garrett. Thank you
for listening to Celebrity Buzz and we will talk to
you very very soon. I guess bye.
