Speaker 1 (00:01):
Put you hit us together, and we're gonna start and
I'm ready to party. Elvis Duran after party.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
We love it when Green decides to stalk by and
tell us what we should and should not be watching,
either streaming or in the theaters.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
He's in charge. You're in charge, Juju.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
We trust.
Speaker 4 (00:20):
I'm so happy that you've been trusted me with this
high honor.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Only when we trust. All right, where do you want
to start?
Speaker 4 (00:26):
All right, let's start with the theaters and then let's
go into some streaming. I watched some new stuff, some
old stuff, but it's all pretty good. So last week
we were on a little bit of a break, so
I feel obligated to say Mortal Kombat Too was a
really fun time at the theater. I'm a big Moral
Kombat fan, play the games growing up, and this movie
is the closest to the games that you're gonna get.
(00:46):
It's gory, fatalities are dope. I was like, Also, who
doesn't love Carl Urban. He's having like a little bit
of moment between the boys, and then playing Johnny Cage,
my personal favorite Mortal Kombat character. The fight scenes. I
think the fight scene are the best that they've ever
been in a Mortal Komba movie.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
So yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:03):
We also interviewed Lually Lynn on the podcast who plays
Lukeing So Mortal Kombat too. If you're a Mortal Kombat fan,
go ahead and check that out. It's an IMAX's time.
The first one was during the pandemic, so it only
came out on streaming. But this is the best way
to watch it, especially with a bunch of fans.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
So Mortal Kombat two.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
Okay, all right, Mortal Kombat two.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
Check next one.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
This one, guys, I think this is a generational movie.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
Obsession. I don't know if you guys have heard about it.
Speaker 4 (01:30):
I don't know if you guys get the same amount
of like exposure advertising wise over there in New York
as I do in LA. But Obsession is a horror
movie from the director Curry Barker, who fun fact started
off as a comedian on TikTok and YouTube making skits
and things like that. This is his first movie that
he's ever done, and this movie is one of the
best debuts from her director that I've ever seen. It
(01:52):
follows a guy who makes a wish that this girl
that he likes is in love with him and only him,
and she becomes absolutely insane and not just like, oh,
she's doing like little weird things to keep them around belt.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
This woman is straight up crazy. Like.
Speaker 4 (02:08):
It is one of those movies that's terrifying, it's relatable.
It's also like beautifully shot. The score is great. But
Obsession is probably one of the best movies of the
Year's in my top three movies of the year already,
and it's yeah. I just hosted a screening the Q
and A last night, and I went to the premiere
days before, and I will gladly watch it again because
the movie is that rewatchable. So I would highly recommend
(02:31):
watching Obsession. It's it's incredible, it's scary, it's relatable, it's
it's just an amazing movie. I think this is this
is my top three movie of the year.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
Okay, really, okay, that's yeah from you, that's a big thing.
So when you say scary, what is the what kind
of scary?
Speaker 4 (02:45):
Imagine a girl so obsessed with you that you in
the middle of the night, she's in the darkest corner
of your room, staring at you, saying go back to sleep.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
It's that type of scary.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
God, I think I needed that I think I am that.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
Yeah, so Obsession one of the best films of the
year already. Curry Barker, he has a bright future. He's
actually gonna direct the new Texas Chainsaw Masker. That's how
good this movie is. He's already got the green light
for that, so accession watch it this weekend. Also this weekend,
if you Guy Richie, if you like Guy Richie, he
has a new movie out called In the Gray. Sorry,
eph Dallas, Oh my gosh, Jake Jillen Hall and Henry
(03:27):
cavill And they're basically these people who go on this
worldwide tour to steal back money that's already stolen. This
movie also has Roseman Pike. I love the way I
love watching a movie where they just plan a heist.
Ason Gonzalez is the star. I think this is like
one of her first big starring roles where she's in
full command. She's giving like George Clooneyvies, but a little
(03:49):
bit more cold, a little bit more calculating, and it's
just one of those fun movies that you know, if
you love Guy Ritchie, this is one of those dations
to watch In the Gray I do.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
I adore anything that Guy Richie. So when is the
new season of the gentle.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
Men coming out? Do we know?
Speaker 1 (04:04):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
Sometime this year. That's all we know.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Such a great show. Let's make it happen.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
Let's make we have the power to make this happen.
All right, next ones, we got some things on streaming eyes.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
Did you guys watch Lord of the Flies? I started it.
I just started it. It's pretty incredible.
Speaker 4 (04:25):
I should be the definitive Lord of the Flies adaptation because,
like I obviously read the book in school, as like
I'm assuming most.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Of them everybody had to read that damn book.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
And the teacher when they're really lazy, pulled in the
TV it said, all right, guys, we're gonna watch the movies. Yeah,
this is what they should be showing now. Four episodes,
each one following one of the main characters, Piggy, Ralph,
Jack and Simon. And it's it's shot very confidently, like
it looks beautiful, it's trippy, and these kids are giving
(04:57):
adolescence level performances. It's like they got four Owen Cooper's
and said this is your show. And to see them
devolve into madness, it really is a tribute ride. So
I would say Lord of the Flies really great. Watch
four hours, time will spend.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
Spoiler alert it descends into madness. She never thought that
would happen. Right now, Where's where is Lord of the
Flies streaming?
Speaker 1 (05:20):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (05:20):
That is on Netflix. Okay, you can remind me that
is on Netflix. Also on Netflix Running Point?
Speaker 1 (05:25):
Have you guys heard obsessed with it? I love Running Point? Okay.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
Kate Hudson is starring as a Genie Bus stand in
It's it's basically like she's Genie Bus but she's like
like the owner of a team that's like the Clippers,
if that makes sense. And I don't know if I
know you guys are in New York, but when it
comes to La Lakers and Clippers, we fans just don't
like each other.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
Clippers just need to go somewhere.
Speaker 4 (05:51):
So it's really telling the story about how this woman
is taking this very incompetent organization and trying to make them.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
A decent team. So there's a lot things going on.
Speaker 4 (06:00):
Family dynamic plays like throws, but in the world of basketball,
and Kate Hudson is like the star of the show.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
She runs it. So it's a funny show if you're
into basketball. It's great. Tom Hanks' son Shit is in
and does.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
Such a job.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
The whole cast is amazing. So yeah, Gandhi finished it up.
I finished up Running Point two nights ago.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Season two. Danielle is like on season I mean, season two,
episode six or something, and.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
Each episode gets better and better and better. It was
just announced yesterday that they're coming back.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
For season three.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
This Mortal Kombat two loving it obsession, Juju says it's
his favorite movie.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
Of the year.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
With a freaky girl in the darkness of the corner,
with a freaky girl in the dark corner.
Speaker 3 (06:46):
Of the bedroom, saying she wants to watch you sleep.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
It's nostalgic.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
And then and in the gray Guy, Ritchie, Guy, Ritchie
can do no wrong.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
We're streaming Lord of the Flies and of course Running
Point excellent.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
We love you Juju.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
Of course, let's draw hat goofy on your socials and
thank you j.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
The elvist Ran after party
Speaker 4 (07:12):
