I went out to dinner at this place where it
was a new restaurant and there went to meet some
friends and I got there early, and I go to
the bar and I'm sitting at the bar and the
bartender is annoyed. Okay, come and find out he's the owner,
and yeah, he's working really hard. Because somebody comes up
and goes, oh, we just.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Wanted to come up and say hi, and you're doing
so well.
Speaker 4 (00:34):
And we were telling everybody at the Sebenberger Club today
that they should come down here because your.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Food is so good and everything, and we're just so
proud of you Johnny.
Speaker 4 (00:42):
And he's like miserable and he's like, I'm the only
one doing any work around here right now.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
I swear to god.
Speaker 4 (00:47):
He's like, I just made forty gallons of sauce. Forty gallons.
I'm just it's just it's a lot.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
It's a lot.
Speaker 4 (00:55):
And they're just trying to compliment him, and he's being
miserable to them, like they're being nice this guy's being miserable.
So then finally he gets around to like, he looks
at me, He's like, what can I get you? And
I went, I'll have forty one gallons of sauce.
Speaker 5 (01:08):
Randy Bellman and the DV Morning Show. Yeah, you would
like to know how much that costs when you could
afford it? Me, what a weird you got saucemogged Randy.
I did get saucemgged, but it was it was just
the fun. Like my buddy was laughing so hard and
he's like, only you would do that. I'm like, well,
I just thought I was like helping the room little levity, like.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
Because the guy was just being unpleasant, you know. And
if I was like, I'll have a Tito soda, you know,
then you know, I don't know. Then that guy miserably
makes me a Tito soda, And I thought I might
have got a chuckle out of him instead anger.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
Anger, Yeah, resentment. That's right.
Speaker 4 (01:44):
I got saucemog. I got saucemogd It's okay, I deserved it.
Abby's got a news update for you.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
What's going on?
Speaker 6 (01:51):
Is this hour brought to you by Better Call Sy,
mostly Sunny and hot and high of ninety. The annual
Pittkelesburg Festival is said to be held July sixteenth through
the nineteenth in downtown Pittsburgh. The event kicked off in
twenty fifteen. It's grown with each passing year. Obviously a
lot of pickle related food options, including pickle egg rolls,
(02:11):
pickled Barogi's pickled pizza.
Speaker 7 (02:14):
This year, Picklesburg also.
Speaker 6 (02:16):
Includes an expanded footprint, incorporating the newly renovated Market Square
as well as the new Arts landing. Jeremy Waldrup, who's
the president and CEO of the Pittsburgh Downtown I don't know,
let's call them a coalition, also offered advice for Picklesburg
goers navigating the twenty five day Parkway East closure that
(02:37):
began on July tenth, saying that they're encouraging folks to
take mass transit, but that there's plenty of alternative ways
to get in. He said, quote, you have four days
this year to make it happen. If I were you,
I would look at our Thursday and Friday afternoons. They
tend to be some of the slowest times in the festival.
Speaker 4 (02:55):
Well, my sister has come in into town with their
daughters on Thursday, and uh, they are the kind of
people where my sister would would hate this, but my nieces,
who are adults would love the kitchiness of it. So
I am taking them through Pickles Burk. Hell yeah, just
to make my sister miserable.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
It's fine.
Speaker 7 (03:16):
Don't you love it here?
Speaker 4 (03:17):
Because she's like, I want to go to the war
Hall and then go to dinner. I'm like, you got it,
bougie chick. We'll do the boogiest Pittsburgh experience I can
think of for you.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
And uh, and then that is decidedly unbougie. And they're like, your.
Speaker 4 (03:30):
Bully is going to be chugging pickle juice on the
Clemente Bridge.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
Ninety degrees want a cup of vinegar? Wait a minute, pickles?
Oh no, are they of the explosion. They have to
be safe, right, they're so cue cumber.
Speaker 7 (03:46):
They're cucumbers, but they're soaked in stuff.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Right, there's but to vinegar.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
I don't know, because they said vinegar like rinses on
vegetables and fruits don't work to get rid of the diarrhea.
Speaker 7 (04:01):
By diarrhea bug because we can't say cycles.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Spurs whatever.
Speaker 7 (04:09):
The diarrhea Bug, the diarya Bug no.
Speaker 4 (04:13):
Parentheses featuring diarrhea Bug known as the diarrhea Bug. Anyways, Okay,
Picklesburg this weekend. I'm looking forward to be prepared.
Speaker 6 (04:25):
Country artist Charlie Crockett dropped the satanic doo wop group
Twin Temple as an opening act over there quote Satanic imagery.
The duo were not unemployed for long, though, Jack White
reached out and offered them a much higher profile gig
opening for him at the Hollywood Palladium. In an Instagram post,
(04:45):
the Hall of Famer wrote, Twin Temple, would you like
to open my show in LA on September twenty ninth.
Let me know, get in front of me, Satan, referencing
of course white stripes keept behind me Satan. But the
duo unsurprisingly snapped up that invite. As for Crockett, in
a brief statement to Rolling Stone, the country singer said,
I thought they were like Black Sabbath, but they ain't
(05:07):
not today Satan.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:09):
The Charlie Crockett's a weird guy. He's like always persecuted.
He's constantly like he's constantly acting like you know, he
is being put upon somehow, and he's a great artist.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
But I've heard a lot of crazy things about that dude.
He's just he's a disagreeable fellow.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
Now that's not to say he doesn't have the right
to exercise, you know, his judgment here and change up
the openers.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
But like the statement he posted was very long. It
just didn't need to be that long.
Speaker 7 (05:41):
No, it didn't.
Speaker 6 (05:42):
It just needed to say, like, you know, it was
a misunderstanding about this kind of band on this tour.
Speaker 7 (05:47):
This was not quite what I had in mind. Yeah,
move on. But he made it.
Speaker 4 (05:51):
Uh, it was like a it was like a manifesto. Yeah,
just talking about these opener and just how like people
are coming for me all the time, you have no
idea what I have to endure stuff. And I was
like one of the like I wanted to post that
meme like I'm not reading all that. I'm happy for
you or sorry that it happened.
Speaker 7 (06:09):
Yeah, I'm not reading that.
Speaker 6 (06:12):
John Mulaney mentioned that Mick Jagger wasn't nice to work
with on SNL in his twenty eighteen stand up special,
and Mick has kind of responded to that. He addressed
how fame has changed his personality, saying.
Speaker 7 (06:27):
Quote, it does affect you.
Speaker 6 (06:29):
You become disassociated from what people might call real life psychologically,
your actual state of mind is permanently damaged. Your late
twenties and early thirties is a very tough time because
it's a big ego trip and you have to have
a huge ego to do this. People that don't have
huge egos have huge problems because they have to manufacture
(06:49):
a completely different personality.
Speaker 4 (06:52):
Yeah, I get it makes sense. Not a huge surprise
that Mick Jagger has a big ego. Yeah, It's the
only thing keeping him alive. It's like if he did
you know, mushrooms or hyahuasca and did an ego death,
he would actually die.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
Probably. Yeah. Wait, I'm just like everybody else. Yeah, yeah, exactly,
all right.
Speaker 6 (07:19):
Max Holloway defeated Connor McGregor by first round knockout after
the after McGregor suffered a devastating right knee injury just
one minute into their UFC two three twenty nine main
event on Saturday Night at Mobile Arena. McGregor appeared to
injure his knee while attempting a flying kick and was
unable to continue. Referee Herb Dean stopped the fight after
(07:44):
Holloway signaled that his opponent was seriously hurt. Halloway, in
a statement afterwards, said I didn't want to win like that.
UFC CEO Dana White said that the injury appeared to
be a torn acl, though no official diagnosis was immediately confirmed,
but the lost spoiled McGregor's first UFC appearance in five years.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Total scumbag.
Speaker 4 (08:03):
But a lot of people are pissed that about this
because they think it was a pre existing injury that
they knew about and they made him fight through it.
Really Yep, there's a lot of talk online about that
that this was not predisclosed, but it was known about
MM which affected gambling lines considerably. And if you look
(08:23):
at the gambling lines and the way they moved at
the end, like the word got out to some people
and it totally just went. I mean, it was gonna
go against him for a couple of different reasons, but uh,
it really flipped right before the fight.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
Isn't he a spokesperson for polymarket sexual what? Oh? Yeah, dude,
yeah good? Is he a polymarket guy? I thought so?
Speaker 3 (08:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (08:52):
That was part of the grift, was like his uh
gambling gamble with me, right I'm a scumbag. H Anyways,
it'll be interesting to see if anything comes with that.
I don't think there's any investigative body that's going to
look into you know, UFC fights being fixed.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
Yeah, Dana, what we'll get right on the right from
the Trib.
Speaker 6 (09:13):
Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Juju Smith Schuster got married
on Friday, but two of his wedding guests seemingly stole
the show. That'll happen when you invite recently newlywoed Taylor
Swift and Travis Kelcey to your event just a week
after their Madison Square Garden wedding. The star couple, who
are both thirty six years old, were among attendees at
(09:35):
Juju's nuptials to his longtime girlfriend and fitness influencer Laura
Cruck at the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Beach, Florida.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
Oh that's cute.
Speaker 6 (09:43):
Yeah. The guest list featured various NFL players, coaches and friends.
This offseason, Juju signed a one year contract with the
New York Giants. He's gonna play for former Baltimore Ravens
coach John Harbough.
Speaker 4 (09:54):
Imagine them going to a Pittsburgh wedding and Travis seeing
a cookie table, the whole table.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
This is awesome? Can we get one?
Speaker 7 (10:04):
Why didn't you tell me that we could have had
this for a wedding?
Speaker 2 (10:09):
Now?
Speaker 7 (10:09):
The tots table looks stupid.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
Do you ever go to a wedding and this happened
to me? I was. I went to a wedding in Minneapolis,
and I was seated at this table with this guy
who was getting married later that year, and everything. He
was seeing everything through the lens of like you know,
at my wedding.
Speaker 7 (10:31):
Ew.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
Yeah, so that was kind of Oh yeah, I got
one better for you or worse. I know a dude
who went to a Destination wedding and at the wedding
proposed to his girlfriend. You have to be insane to
do something like that.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
How old was he old enough to know of age?
In his thirties? In his thirties? Yes?
Speaker 4 (10:58):
Is he just that type of dude? Did it shock you?
Speaker 2 (11:02):
No? I was not there.
Speaker 4 (11:04):
I only know of the event because I knew a
ton of people that were there.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
Proposed at the reception. Yep, crazy, yep, crazy behavi.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
You're gonna make it about us now, like so bananas
related to the no no, no, just hey, while we're here,
can we borrow your photographer?
Speaker 2 (11:28):
No blame. What's funny is when he thought to do that,
he was like, huh a moment of brilliance.
Speaker 4 (11:42):
I've got a great idea. Yeah, I'm going to take
over this wedding.
Speaker 7 (11:47):
Tell me she hated it.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
I don't know, I I I think they're still married.
Speaker 7 (11:52):
Well it's actually.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
Yeah. Well I wouldn't you say no, like not here,
not here? Not here, not here?
Speaker 6 (11:59):
Yeah, as soon as I would see the motion, no no, no, yeah.
Speaker 7 (12:05):
No, no, all right, let's see.
Speaker 6 (12:10):
Despite what our billionaire overlords would have you believe, apparently
you can have enough money.
Speaker 7 (12:16):
Just ask Rosi O'Donnell.
Speaker 6 (12:18):
So for six years she hosted The Rosie o'donnald Show,
one of the most popular and influential daytime talk shows
on TV, and then in two thousand and two she
quit not because her ratings were down, not because of
a scandal, but because she found out that she had.
Speaker 7 (12:32):
One hundred million dollars in the bank.
Speaker 6 (12:34):
She says, quote, when I heard that number, I thought, Okay,
now I'm done, and everyone else was like, why are
you leaving the answer, in addition to having enough was
her kids. She said she wanted to be at their
softball games and wanted to be at school plays. She
even refused an offer of another one hundred million dollars
to do two more years. Her thinking at the time
was quote, I already have that money, and I think
(12:56):
if I need more, something's wrong with me.
Speaker 4 (12:59):
Yeah, that's actually like normal thinking. I'll just understand what
some people are driven to do more. Uh, But if
you get to that level of financial independence, I mean
you could also consider, like, you know, what might be
more fulfilling doing nothing, being around my family, just picking
what I want to do instead of like being in
(13:19):
the grind. And I know people will be like, oh,
she wasn't like digging digenoushoe dealership. But it's just stress
and stuff that you have to worry about fifty million
year to do two more years, two more years. Man
wasn't feeling it though, And this is like twenty five
years ago.
Speaker 2 (13:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
Yeah, you could buy a house in the South Hills
with that. Now she could move to Peters.
Speaker 7 (13:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (13:48):
All right.
Speaker 6 (13:48):
So we've talked a lot about cyclosporiasis today with sorry.
Speaker 7 (13:55):
It's explosive diarrhea.
Speaker 6 (13:57):
You guys, if you want to reduce your chances of
getting sick outside of that parasitic exploding diarrhea bug. Here
are the things that you should always wash your hands
after touching.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (14:14):
Number one on the list touchscreens and pin pads. Things
like the atm, ordering on a tablet at a restaurant
or a coffee shop, or doing self checkout, or punching
in your phone number at the grocery store.
Speaker 4 (14:26):
I always use my knuckle for that, now, Yeah, I
knuckle it. Yeah, yeah, that's I mean. I don't know
that it makes much difference because then if I'm have
like an itchy eye, I'm not going to stick my
finger in and I use my knuckle, oh right, like
to like wipe your eyes, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
I don't know. I'm using the sleeve of my shirt.
Oh big, I'm big on that one, big on that.
That's my move. Oh yeah.
Speaker 7 (14:51):
Grocery cart handles.
Speaker 6 (14:53):
A lot of different hands touched those every single day,
and some of those hands are unwashed.
Speaker 2 (14:59):
All of those.
Speaker 6 (15:00):
Have you been, uh, have been handling raw meat packages?
Like if there are people that are working and then
have to move like you know stuff, or maybe think
about people who take care of sick kids all the time.
Speaker 4 (15:14):
Yes, that's why they give you those handy wipes to
wipe your cars.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
I use them.
Speaker 4 (15:20):
I don't when I'm done at the grocery store.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
I always have.
Speaker 4 (15:26):
I have like a Purel in my car, and I
would just go up like a doctor walking into a
hospital room.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
What do we have here?
Speaker 4 (15:34):
I do that, and then I try to do my phone,
try to wipe it down purel my phone. My phone
is so disgusting right now. I've got to do something
about it. I definitely thing on the list phones, Yeah,
third thing on the list that's just gonna get me.
Speaker 7 (15:49):
Your phone is dirty.
Speaker 6 (15:50):
You take it with you everywhere you go, and it's
picking up germs all along the way from the bathroom,
the gym, you name it. And chances are you are
not cleaning it that often either, unless you're tad.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
I don't clean it that often. But I'm aware. I'm
gonna this. This cyclosporiasis is gonna make me like Howard
Hughes at the end of the Avia and like Way
of the Future, Way of the Future, Way.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
Of the Future. Let's get ted into the penthouse. No
one could see him like this, just p and in jars.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
Wait the future. Why did he pee in the jo
I'm not sure why he peed in jars. It got
very weird there at the end.
Speaker 4 (16:32):
That whole story is very bizarre, but OCD will do
a lot to you.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
Eff if you leave it unchecked. I'm gonna piano jard tonight,
just to be safe.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
I knew dude in college. Apparently there was a guy
at SNL that used to do that and the writers.
Because the bathroom was so far away, he would pee
in a jar in his office and I can't remember
who it was. It was like somebody that everyone knows,
and then he would pour it out the window.
Speaker 2 (16:57):
Like emptying a chamber pot in medieval time. Exactly.
Speaker 4 (17:00):
Good dude, dude, it might have been norm Really, Yeah,
it seems on brand for.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
Nor who pede in a jar at SNL.
Speaker 4 (17:12):
Uh Multiple male writers, according to Tina Fey on the show,
would urinate in cups and jars rather than walking to
the nearby bathroom. Will Face specifically singled out her boss,
former co head writer Steve Higgins, whose son was one
of the members of Please Don't Destroy. She noted other
unnamed staff members also participated in the habit.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
Yeah, so that it became a cultural thing. Yeah, but
she sold out Steve Higgins, well, it's just probably sick
of rancid jars of pe.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
Once he became aware of what was going on, she
couldn't help but notice cups in other rooms as well.
One exception was the weekend up at Update Offices. In
their fay pointed out there was just a single jar
of urine with a lid on it. Based on what
she could see of the liquid in the jar, she
expected that either the writers were also spitting into their
urine or that one of them was very sick. Further More,
fay recalled that you could see the jar immediately upon
(18:08):
entering the room, and that would sometimes be backlit by
the sun shining in the room. That Fade did go
out of her way to clarify not all the male
SNL writers were engaging this activity. At the end of
the day, she said, it only amounted to about four
or five of twenty men who worked there at the time,
and apparently some of them used to enjoy pretending to
dry hump each other. Oh, and did we mention the
booger in the one weekend Update Offices that was evidently
(18:32):
wiped on the wall and painted over that that was
another part of her books. She said that someone wiped
a gross booger on the wall and like hardened and
they painted over it. Guys are disgusting, just the guys
being dudes. If you could have seen the third floor
bathroom in our last building, it was one of the
nastiest things.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
There was a whole booger wall. People. Also, there was
a trend for a while at the Green Tree Studios
of writing.
Speaker 4 (19:01):
In the grout above the urnal. But it was like,
wasn't it like booger puns and stuff that was it
had to include the word line.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
So it was like, oh yeah, okay, red line, bread line,
free cheese line, and it was all over the groud.
Speaker 4 (19:17):
Yeah, it was, but only in the ground, which was small.
It wasn't like a big thick ground. It was like
a tiny it was tiny.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:24):
So what I always wonder is who's going into the
toilet with a pen and then enough time on there,
Like if you're in there like writing stuff, I've got one.
You gotta you gotta get some fiber gone. You gotta
really start to think about supplements at that point.
Speaker 7 (19:42):
Yeah, it's supposed to be a quick transaction.
Speaker 4 (19:44):
You're not supposed to be in there that long, you're
you're gonna have a prolapsed as if you were in
there writing Moby Dick for crying out loud.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
It's I'll never you know, I don't. You don't know
which of your friends are the guy that wipes the
booger above the urnal. But it's the people.
Speaker 4 (20:00):
Do it all the time, all the time. It's unbelievable.
I'll tell you what's even just as disgusting to me.
At the gym, the guy who hawks lukis into the
sink where you're going to wash your hands. Yeah, there's
like a big like, oh, you have a sinus infection,
lung butter maybe.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (20:24):
You watch what's going to start happening at these gyms.
People are going to be doing squats pretty soon, and dude,
it's coming for everyone.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
Wait out on the explosion. That's so good. How long
is that? Like nine seconds?
Speaker 4 (20:44):
I'm telling you right now, you watch, someone's gonna be
asking for a spot, Someone's going to be doing deadlift,
trap bar deadlift.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
You're right, come on, come on, come on, gym is
closed for the day. It's coming for all of us.
Speaker 4 (21:03):
I just pray it does not happen to me in
front of other people. That is the only thing I
am hoping for. It's going to happen in here, all right,
Look a diarrhea dress in here, so that if it
does happen to one of us, we can like, I
have mine right here.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
Well you have a jacket, Okay, I.
Speaker 7 (21:20):
Guess I would just take that off and make it.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
And just like back out of the studio.
Speaker 4 (21:27):
Guys, I'll join by phone from the parkway on my
way home.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
I don't think you will. You'll be crying too hard. Yeah, well,
well there will be like a recap. Are we all
going to get it? Is? It sounds like it?
Speaker 4 (21:41):
Okay, unless you stay away from fruit and vegetables altogether,
or make sure that they're all cooked.
Speaker 2 (21:46):
I'm just gonna instant pot everything.
Speaker 4 (21:48):
Rfk's on it. It should be fine. He'll fix it soon.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
It's a good point.
Speaker 6 (21:52):

Brought to you by Bridgeville Appliance to Pirates sweep completing
fourteen to five blowout of the Brewers yesterday PNC Park.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
Included a ten run fourth inning.
Speaker 11 (23:43):
Pirates were leading four to two after Milwaukee played at
a couple of runs in the top of the fourth inning.
Ten runs pretty much decided things even with the Pirates bullpen.
Speaker 4 (23:54):
Well, let me ask you this, Mike, because I was
out of town, didn't get to watch any of the
games this week, and both the skiing starts, he had
a ton of run support. He got those wins, that's great.
But besides having that run support, did he look a
little more? Paul Skin's this a little So we're not
(24:14):
there yet on that front.
Speaker 2 (24:15):
Okay, Nope, not even close. I mean he's better.
Speaker 11 (24:20):
He's not getting hammered like he did for two consecutive starts.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
But he's not miss Rowski, he's not. He's just good. Hey, good,
good job, good five and a third. Ooh, way to
go you know.
Speaker 11 (24:31):
I mean, what do you think I get that the
game was out of hand yesterday they decided to take
him out after eighty two pitches for whatever reason.
Speaker 2 (24:39):
But is he dead armed after the World Baseball Classic?
Is there? I have no idea.
Speaker 11 (24:43):
But my biggest concern for this team, and we talked
about this with Kevin Gorman, it's a legit concern. The
starting pitching hasn't been good enough to this point, and
it's in great question moving forward because in the ages
of these guys were or the injury they're coming off,
or just how they want to treat them like they're
China dolls. Yeah, so what are you gonna I get
(25:07):
the bullpen's been the biggest problem, But if the starters
had been better, the bullpen would be less of a problem,
if only because the bullpen wouldn't have pitched as much. Right,
So if the bullpen has a chance to get better,
the starters have to be better. I think the starters
might be worse in the second half. So can they
just club people to death and be a softball team and.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
Find that path? October I don't think.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
So.
Speaker 2 (25:31):
You gotta get better starting pitching.
Speaker 11 (25:35):
But it didn't matter yesterday let's go through the bottom
of the fourth inning. I mentioned that Milwaukee had just
scored two to pull within two. Ozuna leads off with
a home run, Triolo double, Davis single, Mangham walk, Lao single,
(25:56):
Mangham scored, Reynolds hit by pitch, Davis scored, Valdez walked,
Mangum scored, O'Hearn single, Loud scored, Gonzalez double, Reynolds scored,
and Valdez scored. Finally, uh Milwaukee gets an auto. Zuna
in his second at bat of the inning, strikes out
nine consecutive batters reaching base in succession against three Milwaukee pitchers,
(26:20):
and for the entirety of the inning, ten runs on
eight hits, and the Bucks hit for the team cycle.
In the bottom of the fourth, four singles, a double,
excuse me two doubles. Triolo had one of each, a
triple and a home run. They also had two walks
and a hit by pitch. I was wondering if Milwaukee
(26:41):
was going to turn to a position player for the
top of the For the bottom of the fifth, it
was explosive to use the word of the day.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
It is the word of the day, and that's how
the Bucos completed the wipe of the Brewers. I think
they're still wiping dab technique.
Speaker 4 (27:03):
Everyone in America is gonna have to refamiliarize themselves, damn.
Speaker 11 (27:08):
You know, if Clint Hurdle was managed in Milwaukee, he'd say,
that's all right, shower it off, boys, it's gonna take
a while.
Speaker 4 (27:15):
Hey, that's a hell of a weekend by your Bucko's
going into the break though, It's been a long time
since we've had something to feel good about with this
team going into an All Star break.
Speaker 11 (27:22):
First fifty wins at the break since twenty fifteen. Parts
of fifteen forty seven, they played a few more games
than they usually do with the All Star break. Back
in twenty fifteen, they were fifty three and thirty five
on the way to ninety eight and sixty four. That
that was that great team that still couldn't win the
division because the Cardinals wone one hundred games and then
they got steroid jaked in the wildcard game.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
Pissed me off so bad. I think they were down
two nothing right away. Yeah.
Speaker 11 (27:49):
That one last time they finished with the winning record
at the All Star Break was twenty sixteen. There were
forty six and forty three, that on the way to
seventy eight and eighty three, so you know, certainly nothing
is assured, but they've gotten this far and there is
reason to believe there is reason to be concerned, which
(28:10):
probably is represented by fifty and forty seven. It's not great,
but it's pretty good, and it's way better than they
usually are. Yep, let's hope two games back.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
An.
Speaker 11 (28:20):
You got to keep investing in this team, right, they
said at the start of the year. The goal is
the playoffs. But but they spent on Bob Nutting like
funds to set this team up, So next step is
to improve it. Right, It's certaly not going anywhere in
its current configuration.
Speaker 2 (28:37):
No, I mean.
Speaker 4 (28:41):
You get to a playoff series or a wild card
game those bats.
Speaker 11 (28:46):
Yeah, and maybe Ashcraft could pitch anything get a third
because you know twenty twenty nine.
Speaker 4 (28:54):
You know what I mean, The anticipate Aired Jones will
be pitching, you know, to eighty five ninety pitches by
the end of the season.
Speaker 11 (29:01):
Or is it just getting All I know is his
first game of the year in May, he through seventy seven.
The last time he pitched, he through seventy seven. They
are not stretching him out to this point. I don't
know what they're waiting for. Very weird, very strange. After
the break, we're going to celebrate a milestone today. It's
the anniversary of one of the greatest days of live
(29:22):
music ever. I'll explain when we come back, But first,
Mike Randall's no soccer today and no baseball, but there's
still plenty to ponder with bete Parks. The bet Parks
sports book and online casino app is still open for
business on the futures market.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
That's right.
Speaker 11 (29:40):
That goes for division winners, league champions, even the team
that's eventually going to capture all the marbles.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
And it's the same.
Speaker 11 (29:48):
Regarding the eventual individual award winners. If you've got a
feeling about any of that stuff by now, bet Parks,
as you covered, there's always another way to win with
bet Parks, and that includes the live in game betting
off when they're actually playing games, which is always better
on bet Parks. It's no wonder the bet Parks sports
booking online casino app is the only one I recommend.
(30:09):
Bet Parks has a special World Soccer hub with odds
boosts as well as team and player props for all
the games, and right now new users can up to
five hundred dollars casino bonus back plus five hundred bonus
spins on the new soccer themed online.

Speaker 8 (30:35):
Full disclosure. We're buying your loyalty with the only currency
we have.
Speaker 3 (30:41):
Music.
Speaker 8 (30:41):
Chad Tyson kicks off his show every weekday at three
with a commercial free rock block. Yeah, we sell a
little less, but rock a little more with Tyson afternoons
on DVE.
Speaker 4 (30:54):
Do you have a passion for making a difference in
the lives of Chad Whistle? On this day, July thirteenth,
nineteen eighty five, forty one years ago, Live Aid was
held jointly at Wembley Stadium in London and JFK Stadium
in Philadelphia. Now the Wembley Stadium lineup was adam Ant,
(31:23):
Boomtown Rats, David Bowie, Phil Collins, who was at the
height of his solo career, Elvis Costello, Dire Straits, Brian Ferry, Elton,
John Howard Jones, Nick Kershaw, Alison Moyer, Queen Chardei Spando,
(31:48):
Ballet Status Quo. They were the first band to kick
things off for all of Live Aid at Wembley.
Speaker 2 (31:56):
Style Council, sting.
Speaker 4 (32:00):
U two, Ultravox, Paul Young, Wham and the Who at
JFK Stadium in Philadelphia. Brian Adams. You have to remember,
this is nineteen eighty five. Brian Adams, The Cars, Eric Clapton, Duran,
(32:23):
Duran Boy, George Hall and Oates, Mick Jagger, Solo Stones
weren't playing around then. It was before the Steel Wheels Tour,
Billy Joel Whalon, Jennings, Judas Priest, I remember that Priest
except Chris Christofferson, Huey Lewis in the news, Robert Plant.
(32:50):
Of course, that would be the led Zeppelin Reunion, The Surprise,
The Power Station, Pretenders, Santana, Paul Simon, Simple Minds, Tears
for Fears, The Temptations, The Thompson Twins, Neil Young and
Stevie Wonder that all happened at JFK Insane tickets, by
(33:16):
the way, at for the Wembley Stadium show, we're twenty
five pounds, which I'm guessing is I don't know what. Yeah,
I mean, but back then in nineteen eighty five, who
knows what it was so many legendary performances. Obviously, you know,
three dollars, Yeah about that? What that wouldn't even be
(33:38):
half of your ticket fee for something like that. Now
the iconic performances. Obviously, Queen has been voted the greatest
live performance in the history of music, which I think
is like, I bet there were a few Wagner shows
back in Austria. At the end of the day, they're
pretty rocking. But in a two thousand and five poll,
(34:02):
everyone voted that Queen the twenty one minute live aid
set that was immortalized in the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, but
it was voted that it was voted the best in
two thousand and five, not as a reaction to the film.
Film was years from being made great. Yeah. Other notable
things about that day, of course, Phil Collins playing at
(34:22):
Wembley Stadium, then getting on the concord and zooming over
to JFK, and then playing drums for that ill fated
led Zeppelin reunion which was marred by the drunkenness of
Jimmy Page.
Speaker 2 (34:35):
The fact that he didn't like Phil.
Speaker 4 (34:39):
Collins and Robert Plant just sort of demanded that he
play with them, even though they had Chester Thompson on drums,
and it devolved into a just it was horrible if
you watch it, and you can watch it, and I'll
tell you more about that in a second, really really bad.
The other moment that stood out on days like this,
(35:02):
careers can be launched. Iconic moments can sort of help
to define a band, and that is exactly what happened
for You Too, because at the end of You two set,
they were supposed to get off the freaking stage and
(35:23):
they're playing bad and Bono leaps off the stage at
Wembley Stadium down into the security pit. The security guards
catch him. He motions to a woman that he saw
that was getting kind of crushed up against the front
of the railing and has the security lift her up
(35:44):
and bring her into the pit, where he then just
embraces her and just begins to like slow dance and
hold her and embrace her for a long time. Now
they're supposed to be getting off the stage. This song
is supposed to be done, but Bono can't leave this girl,
(36:08):
and so he stays with her for a minute or
so and he's like, I gotta get back on the
stage now, and then that proves to be a little problematic,
and then he runs and jumps back, gets on the
stage and then vamps a little bit longer, and the.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
Edge is like, what the are you doing? They went backstage.
Speaker 4 (36:31):
The rest of the band thought they were going to
fire bono. They were so pissed at him for doing that.
It turned out to be a move that became part
of rock and roll lore and helped to sort of
launch the identity of you two just as the Joshua
(36:51):
Tree was coming out and you know, on the heels
of Unforgettable Fire and all of that, And it really
was something that was like just a just an impulse
that he had that became one of the most recognizable
moments in music live music history. The JFK's show did
(37:13):
not have a lot of highlights. It really didn't. There
was not a lot of great stuff there. The Clapton
set's pretty good, but not great. The sound there was weird.
They had like Bill Murray and Chevy Chase where the
MC's during the day, and so it had just a
different vibe. The Wembley vibe was a lot different, and
I think that when you watch the Queen set, you
(37:34):
see that, when you watch the David Bowie set, you
see that it just had a gravitas that the JFK
shows just couldn't achieve. But a super fun thing to do,
and I have done this party a few times, is
to do a rewatch and you can do it all.
(37:54):
It's like the full MTV feed was availed on YouTube last.
Speaker 2 (38:01):
Time I checked, and maybe it is now or maybe
it isn't, but.
Speaker 4 (38:03):
You can minimum line up the shows you want and
do a full rewatch of the day and it's super fun.
I remember being a kid and watching this and just like,
you know, on the floor because I couldn't get on
the couch because there's so many of us in there,
like head in my hands, like staring at the TV
like oh my god, oh my god, led Zeppelin and
(38:27):
I thought it was just like I'm like, this is
I can't believe I'm seeing Led up And it was terrible,
but I didn't know any better.
Speaker 2 (38:33):
And it's really fun.
Speaker 4 (38:34):
And if you want to go back and just remember
everything about it, because there's a lot of controversy surrounding it.
There's a great BBC documentary that's on YouTube. There's a
couple of different documentaries with the BBC. One it's a
two partner and it's amazing. And I remember the one
(38:56):
scene is they had created this video that showed just
how awful things were in Ethiopium, and the BBC was like, well, no,
we're not airing that. We are not airing that. And Geldoff,
you know, one of the organizers. By the way, when
you watch it, you'll also realize like Geldoff kind of
(39:17):
just took the mantle as the organizer and it wasn't
just him. Mid Jerry from Ultravox was a big, big
part of it. He kind of gets pushed to the wayside.
He's like he got garfunkled a little bit in terms
of getting credit for Live Aid. But the BBC did
not want to air this video and then David Bowie
(39:41):
insisted that it air and then he shot to the
video before he performed, and they said, like after he
did that, the phones just exploded and you know, the
phone banks went down because so many calls were coming in.
Cool documentary, like I said, it's on YouTube, check it out.
Speaker 2 (40:03):
So things were explosive even back then. Well it was
a different kind of explosive, I mean back then.
Speaker 7 (40:08):
Oh no, did that come from accounting?
Speaker 4 (40:13):
Cheryl Cheryl, Cheryl's gotta go home. That's it for us
for today, thanks to Benzi Gorman. Yeah, it wouldn't have
been right if we wouldn't have gone out with a
fart joke. Not even fart joke, that is an explosive
diarrhea bowe joke. Yes, dwelling when you're heading into first
(40:36):

the launch agle cyclosporiasis. We're gonna do the Pittsburgh power

Speaker 2 (41:02):
That'll be Friday morning. That'll be coming your way.
Speaker 4 (41:05):
So Michelle's up next, Hey, call Michelle, tell her to
play some of the live aid.
Speaker 2 (41:09):
