Speaker 1 (00:00):
WDPE. It's work that iHeart radio station guaranteed human.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
So it's lost that early days of like either MySpace, Facebook,
all that kind of stuff where people actually were using
the app to communicate with each other. Yeah, you're not
really connecting with people, like maybe you follow them and
you're like half stocking them.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
But like, well it is weird. Like when I went
home last week and I was in eerie for a
week and people have not seen in a long time
and they know everything about you and that is such
a weird feeling. Hey, how'd your comedy fest go. I'm like,
I haven't talked to you in twenty years. Yeah, you
know what I mean. Like, yeah, it's online, and I
know that that's not a new observation, but it'll never

(00:48):
kind of not feel weird to me that people know.
Like and one woman was like, well, you know you've
seen our kids on social media, right, And I'm like
I haven't. I'm sorry, I just we'd be creepier. I said, yeah,
oh yeah, oh I've seen them all right, yeah uncle
watching Randy Bellman and the DVE Morning Show. Everybody. Joe

(01:11):
Barnick's hanging out with us as well this morning here
on the DVE Morning Show, and Abby Krisner has a
news update for you. What's going on Abby News.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
This hour is brought to you by Keystone Basement Systems
Web Basement Keystone Basementsystems dot com.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
It's mostly sunny, very hot today.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
Caution is advised if you're going to be outside for
extended periods of time.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
It's a high of ninety seven.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
As the first week of commutes of the partial closure
of the Parkway East occur, pen dots directing people to
a website that has real time information on how quickly
they can get to their destination via various detour routes.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
So the website, if you.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Don't know, is five to one one PA dot com
that provides travel times for the main detour routes and
shows real time incidence construction, traffic cams, traffic speeds, and
message board delays. Of course, the key section of the
Parkway between eastern end of Squirrel Hill Tunnel and Edgewood
Swissfeld is closed on Friday, and that's going to remain
inaccessible until at least August the fifth.

Speaker 5 (02:07):
I saw somebody post that it was like taking thirty
seven minutes to get from Forest Hill to the south side.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Oh, there was people in traffic for two hours, two hours,
waterfronts of mess. Uh, this is going to be a
night to mere for a while. August fifth is the
conservative i've seen. Yeah really Yeah, it's kind of wiggling
a little bit.

Speaker 5 (02:35):
Yeah, I guess you have to say it a date.
But wouldn't you want to be kind of sure? So,
I mean, people, it's licensed to freak out once you
blow past August fifth.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
What do you think the average number of trucker bombs
per day is in that traffic?

Speaker 5 (02:51):
Well, and you know, necessity is the mother of trucker bombing.
So people who never do that, unpracticed people are peeing into.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Bottles in their own cars right now. Oh yeah, there's
gonna be some some yetties that get mugs. Yeah, exactly.
Those are like neutron bombs.

Speaker 6 (03:11):
Well you Stanley coming, they're too expensive. You can't say
you just gotta sit there. Yeah, well, now use that,
but then you just got to, I don't know, go
home and wash it. I don't I'm not sure I
can't just throw it out the window. But when you're
in traffic that lot, well they should probably just put
up porta potties. That would be a good idea.

Speaker 5 (03:28):
Right now, it's only one degrees ninety degree heat. I
walked past one. I walked past the portage on on
my way to the gym in my neighborhood. It's like
right by the ballfield. And then in the heat, it's
like I hold my breath when I'm thirty yards away,
and then I fast walk past it thirty yards past,
and I'm like, because I can't breathe it in because

(03:50):
if you get snuck up on with that, it's brutal.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Is it open to the public or is it for
a construction site.

Speaker 5 (03:55):
It's like sort of both, Like there's I think like
public works. Dudes like chill down there and use it.

Speaker 6 (04:05):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (04:05):
Yeah, it's like what if you smell it, you get
a migraine, is what it is.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
I was going to, Uh, there's a there was a
bar I was going to last week that's on a
barge and all they have is a porta potty, like
that's the bathroom, and it's it was so hot, so
every time you had to go, yeah to hold your
breath and jump in there. It was the worst. Like
everything about this bar was great, except that I said

(04:34):
tat a video of it, I'm like, look, my cool,
I'm on the water. Super fun, super fun. But the
only place to go to the bathroom it's in a
hot porta potty hot, yeah, porta potties. Look, there's never
a good porta potty experience. There's only not disgusting. Like

(04:54):
that wasn't too bad. Yeah, I'm on record, I go home.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
That's it.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
Yeah, buzz kills show over. You won't even pee in them?

Speaker 7 (05:03):
No, nine nine times I had of ten, I'll pee
buy a car and risk it being arrested. And then
the worst was my gall bladderstone incident. Well, i'd like
to hear about that show. No, you've heard about it
a few times on the show at the Rose Bowl whatever.
Oh yeah, that's right, okay, all right.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Yeah yeah yeah.

Speaker 7 (05:24):
And then finally people start going into the game, so
I got to go.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
It like, you had to go to the bathroom so bad,
but you couldn't go, Yes, just a terrible feeling and
a porta potty. And so when it finally popped, it
popped in a porta potty. No, and it finally popped,
I was They were like minutes away from rushing me.
To the hospital.

Speaker 7 (05:45):
I was just relaxed by a truck and I still
remember seeing it hit the tire.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
That's what it felt like. I felt immediately, immediate.

Speaker 5 (05:56):
Rely, oh my god.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
But it was a kidney stone, kitty. I'm sorry. Okay,
I was gonna say I didn't know your peeout gallstones? No, no,
kidney got my stones? Confused? Yeah, Mick and Keith, Oh yeah,
Kidney's the pean out of kidney stone in a hot
porter potty sounds about as bad as it can get. Well,

(06:19):
you don't know what's wrong. I know what was wrong.

Speaker 7 (06:22):
I'm like, how I've had fifteen beers already and you
just all you wanted to do is pee and nothing
would happened.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
They couldn't come out. Yeah. Yeah, And then that's why
I could see in my ice.

Speaker 7 (06:31):
I could just see it come out, like yeah, yeah,
crazy stuff. Well we're all glad here.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
Okay.

Speaker 7 (06:39):
Have you ever had someone try to say, hey, you
want to do some drugs in this port? I'm like,
are you crazy?

Speaker 3 (06:45):
No RFK.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
Tom Segura and Christina p are going their separate ways
after nearly two decades his husband and wife. Source that
familiar with the situation told TMZ, the comedians and podcasts
hosts recently separated after eighteen years of marriage. They're told
this split happened within the last couple of months and
is completely amicable. TMZ is also told that they had

(07:10):
a special and productive relationship, creating one of the most
successful comedy podcast networks in the industry, and more importantly,
two kids. They're taking different paths moving forward and remained
devoted to their children.

Speaker 7 (07:22):
Well, that was on one of their first dates with them. Really, yeah,
I've known them forever. I've known them forever.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
Well, you were here at the Comedy Fest where we
had Tom Segura and Christina Paziski as part of the lineup.
That was the one that was It was Jim Norton,
Michael Ja, Christina Pazzitski and Tom Segura. Was that was
like the big show, and then me and Versey were
on the Medium Show. Yes, we had the Rex Theater
show also, and that was the night Ralphie May was

(07:51):
in town, right, and then we all got together afterwards
and eight nine hundred primanties and nobody slept, but we
always one and Ralphie had seven hundred. That's true. Yeah, Well,
Ralphie was sitting in my I have a bar in
my basement and there's like this big bar school there
that he was sitting on. And the next day that

(08:12):
was like it was like a crime scene imprint of
Ralphie in Coleslaw. This is like his body. But somewhat
of a surprise. I know, eighteen years is a long time,
but a little bit surprised that Christina p and Tom.
They always seem so unbelievably close that if anybody was

(08:33):
gonna make it in show business, those two would. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (08:36):
It never even brings them up as like one of
the only two or three comedy couples that ever works out.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
Yeah, yeah, I don't. I mean, I don't know. Where
did you go on one of their first dates?

Speaker 7 (08:46):
Oh, like you know, some dive bar. Was like they
were like hanging out for the first time, Like, oh,
you guys are a couple, and like, eh, Christine was like, oh,
like giddy. Yeah, I love Christina, She's great. Tom's always
super cool to me. Yeah, but they've both been great
with us in the past too. I wish him both well.
I wonder if she's gonna move back to l A.
I wonder if you just freaked out in Austin.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
Oh, I didn't. I guess I didn't realize he went
to Austin.

Speaker 7 (09:08):
Well they both did and didn't know that. Yeah, they
live in Austin. They have some big compound or whatever. Yeah,
everyone does. It's the end thing to do in the
comedy world. Yeah, it's still Austin.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
I don't know, Joe, when are you gonna sparky? All
the comics should move to Pittsburgh movement? Why you mean
either's those stage time? Anyway?

Speaker 7 (09:28):
Maybe you know me and Sean Coyer, So we got
to keep it locked down. I need Actually, a buddy
of mine just moved to mister Ricardo. I'm space on
his first name right now. I'm good friend. Yeah, good friend. No,
he he's following his Josh Accardo.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
He's his.

Speaker 7 (09:50):
I guess he got divorced. He's a New York comic.
Great guy, and he's like, I just moved to Pittsburgh. Guy,
what are you doing? He goes out, my wife, I
got divorced and following my kid here. Some have lunchure
dinner with them next week or so.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
Well, come up with a plan to launch a big
comedy boon here.

Speaker 7 (10:05):
I'm trying to Yeah, you know, trying to get some
shows together. Got one Thursday night for the final bit
for the tell the Kidney Stone story.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Just take fibrosis.

Speaker 7 (10:17):
I've done so many benefits the last two weeks, one of.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
Those weird tonight to raise money for this wicked thing.
Am I right? Folks, It's like a Krusty the Clown move.

Speaker 6 (10:36):
I don't even know.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
What jaredy I'm doing. That's terrible, isn't it? Oh my heartbreak?
That's it? Go again? Anyways?

Speaker 2 (10:46):
All right, Warner Brothers has just dropped the first trailer
for the Tom Cruise, starring Alejandro Intu directed Digger.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
Did anybody get to see it?

Speaker 3 (10:56):
You have to watch the trailer.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Yeah, this is uh Alec Cruz's major studio boss, Les Grossman.
In Tropic Thunder, he transforms into another kind of opposite
once again. So it's very blunt, Southern talking, older pot
belly oil baron who may have set off a massive
global economic disaster.

Speaker 4 (11:17):
And his name is Digger Rockwell.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
So he's the only guy who can fix what looks
to be a rapidly melting iceberg crisis. And he's ordered
by the standing US President who's played by John Goodman
to Save the.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
Day, all right, just sounds more interesting than anything he's
done in a long time to me. Cruz. Yeah, Tom
Cruise and Will Smith are two guys where I have
a hard time watching their movies because I just can't
separate them. I just feel like i'm watching them. I
don't feel like i'm watching a movie. I feel like

(11:49):
I'm watching that person, you know what I mean? Yeah,
And so I just I'm never really a fan. Though
I think Tom Cruise has done some great movies.

Speaker 7 (11:58):
I'm triggered. I can't even talk about Will Smith. I
get triggered because he slapped Chris Rock.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
Yeah, I hope whatever. He's doing some show he's going
around the world.

Speaker 7 (12:06):
He falls off an Arctica.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
Did you just say you hope he falls off and
the world?

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (12:15):
I just I want the worst things to happen to him.

Speaker 7 (12:19):
But Tom, Tom Cruise Impossible is amazing.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
I looked very good. I'm just saying I can't separate
Tom Cruise from the movie. I feel like I'm watching
Tom Cruise. That's all you are though. Yeah, No, I know,
I know, but like you know, sometimes you get engrossed
in a movie and you just like I never don't
think like, oh, sure, Tom Cruise, you know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (12:38):
If you feel like that this Digger movie is gonna
be much of the same because the makeup is so pronounced.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
Okay, well see now, I think that that might actually
help me. Like that movie collaterally did where he had
like the white hair him and Jamie Foxx. Yeah, that
was a good movie. I thought that was good.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
I prefer him to do weird roles like that then
then see him as an action uh star like I
don't know why.

Speaker 4 (13:02):
I don't care about that.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
I'd rather see him in like a Vanilla Sky than
I would rather see him in a mission impossible.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
Completely agree. I think it's interesting that King Ralph is
now a president. Yes, well it's a downgrade, but presidency
is kind of getting monarchy these days, so who knows.
That's one of the best lines I have driver Fence
Hello in college, just watches.

Speaker 8 (13:22):
You quoting the movie King Ralph. Trendy movies, you know
that classic King Ralph. What year was King Ralph? That'd
be like nineteen ninety or something like eighty six maybe, Okay,
I don't know King Ralph. I never did see that.
John Goodman no, No, we're gonna round. It was on

(13:45):
all the time.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
One. It's a great cast. Peter O'Toole John Hurt. I mean,
you know, but an Oscar shut up in Oscar they
were robbed.

Speaker 5 (13:58):
He hits a danger with the cricket bat Randy, Oh, okay, spoiler.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
All right, out watch it. You know, we'll put it
on Sean Collier's list of movies to watch. He hates
all the movies I love. Every time we get Sean
Collier are like, oh dude, you've never seen this. You
have to see it. He watches it and he's like,
I don't know what you guys were thinking. This is terrible. Okay, well,
all right, all right.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
Google ms be getting a policy to disclose ads that
are made using AI. Consumers can now see that information
by clicking on the info icon when using a Google platform.
The company says a disclaimer will be automatic when an
advertiser uses an AI image. The staff writer for the
Atlantic did a story on how AI is already breaking

(14:40):
our brains. There's clear evidence that we're not thinking for
ourselves as much as we used to. But here are
a few techniques to try and prevent that from happening.
Number one, When you're using AI, ask for hints, not answers.
So people who ask AI to directly answer their questions
suffer severe decline in motivation and ability, but people who

(15:03):
ask AI for background thinking or clarifications do not.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
So every time I hear like ask AI, I will
just type into Google something. But that is using AI.

Speaker 4 (15:14):
I mean it kind of is, but you're using it
for a search function.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
Right, yes, so it's not like saying, like, you know,
write an email to my you know, different boss or
something like that, so I don't have to think about.

Speaker 4 (15:25):
It, you know, just the function.

Speaker 9 (15:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
Number two is start with a blank page when you
want its take on something quote, write up your own
analysis and conclusions, and then ask AI to challenge your thinking,
not produce your thinking. Okay, which I like that. So
if you did okay, let's go back to the email example.
You wrote an email that was like, you know, something
that work that was giving you anxiety and you were

(15:53):
worried that it wasn't coming off the right way. You
write it first, then you pop what you wrote into
AI and let it be like, hey, this is where
this is unclear, instead of you just saying like okay, well,
AI did it, and I'm good, got it?

Speaker 3 (16:06):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
Number three, rotate tasks. Every time you do a task
with AI, follow it with a task that doesn't involve AI.
That will keep your creative effort muscles alive.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
Okay, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
Let's say something out.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
The double The work is clean your bathroom. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
And the final thing for number four, make a sharp
distinction between the rote work and the creative work. Let
AI write quick emails. Don't let it write your essays
or your memos.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
Yeah. I would just refrain from letting it do anything
outside of a search. Personally, my buddy got very angry
angry with me for criticizing him for using it for
his heat for decoration ideas. He was like making a
man cave, and he used AI to give him all
kinds of like interior design ideas. And I came around

(16:58):
on that one. I'm like, He's like, I would eat
I never thought to do this stuff and it looks awesome,
and I'm like, okay, all right, all right, I'm willing
to admit that does not seem to erode your brain
because you did not have that in your brain.

Speaker 7 (17:12):
You need AI to tell you where to hang your
steeler pictures.

Speaker 3 (17:16):
Yeah, he'd ended up doing like this whole like ship
lab thing. I don't know, you know, it looks very cool, but.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
I used it to I just gave my daughter a
new bedroom for her birthday, for her tenth birthday, and
I used AI to do it because I took a
picture of her room. We talked about all these things
that she wanted and then I was just like, show
me what that looks like. And then you know, but
I wrote things like keep all the existing furniture, change
it to this color.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
Did you involve her in this selection pros?

Speaker 2 (17:46):
I wish that together, and we did it because she
was kind of talking about like, well, I don't want this,
but I do want, you know, these kind of characters
in my room, and I don't want this kind of pink.

Speaker 4 (17:57):
I want this kind of pink. And so I was
just like.

Speaker 2 (17:59):
Okay, let's put our ideas together because if we're doing
a pink room, I don't want to paint it again
in four years when you tell me it's cringe. So like,
now I need my you know, adult version of being like,
give me the softest, most you know, adaptable pink color
that you can find. Given these parameters and it gave
me this perfect room and I'm like, great, what paint

(18:21):
colors are those? And then gave me that went out,
bought the paint done. I'm like, that's kind of awesome
instead of, you know, going through the process of getting
it wrong a bunch of times.

Speaker 3 (18:30):
Yeah, yeah, that saved me time, right, So I can
see that as a sort of like acceptable use of AI.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Yes, all right, it's super hot today. It's going to
be high of ninety seven.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
Mike pursuita coming in with sports. Not a lot going on.
The home run Derby last night was exciting if you
watched Jordan Walker rally late and you had to hit
like seven home runs in a row. They have a
new format that people seem to really like. The broadcast stunk,
but it seemed like the actual home run Derby was
pretty excited. I couldn't watch it because the broadcast was

(19:02):
annoying the piss out of me, and I was like, yeah,
no thanks, and put on an old Sopranos instead. Michael,
have a full report on that and look ahead for
your buckos. Here Sean Casey, the Mayor, joins us at
eight forty five. Billy Gardell in the entire nine am
hour here on THEE.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
No matter how you listen, DVE is always there. Listen
on the three iHeart Radio apth on all your devices
and save us as a pre sins.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
Why don't you quite find DV.

Speaker 10 (19:29):
Live from the Don's appliance to studios where Pittsburgh shops
for appliances.

Speaker 11 (19:33):
This is w DVEE Pittsburgh from the Seedon Hill University
Weather Center. Schedule your campus visit today. This report is
sponsored by Pierre's ice Cream.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
It's going to be another hot one today, mostly sunning,
very hot Hive ninety. There's Mike Persuda with three takes
that resident I hear we all three takes one two
three mic pursuita let's go.

Speaker 12 (19:55):
Take number one. Different strokes for different folks. The three
home runs lasted by his Merlin Valdez against Milwaukee provided
the exclamation point for the player who has clearly emerged
as the Buckos breakout star of baseball's unofficial first half,
but a couple of bats on which the ball didn't
leave the infield, let alone the yard against the Brewers

(20:17):
were likewise revealing. Valdezes grounded into a second to short
the first double play in the bottom of the eighth
in Game two on Saturday. That's not the desired result,
but he was trying to move the runners into scoring
position in a one run game, as he should have been.
And on Sunday, Valdez accepted a bases loaded walk during

(20:37):
the Pirates ten run eruption in the fourth inning rather
than swing from his heels for the cheap seats. He
apparently has an understanding a situational plan from a bat
to at bat. It isn't just home run or bust,
and that might make Valdez the real deal. That can't
impress me this weekend?

Speaker 3 (20:55):
Oh man, he's again. He's the sample sizes, who's indy.

Speaker 12 (21:00):
It's substantial, knows how to play baseball, or so it appears.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
Take number two Mason has entered the chat.

Speaker 12 (21:07):
Lefting Mason Montgomery save in Game two on Saturday was
also as revealing potentially as it was encouraging. Montgomery walked
Christian Yelich to open the ninth, which is never advisable,
but Montgomery did so in part because he refused to
serve up a meatball on three and two that could
have tied the game. Unfazed by putting the tying run

(21:28):
on base. Montgomery worked through the Brewers two, three and
four hitters in succession and closed it. Could he too
actually know what he's doing. Closer is still wide open.
Montgomery deserves some runway in an effort to try and
change that.

Speaker 3 (21:46):
I like that.

Speaker 12 (21:47):
Take number three defense wins championships. That's the theory. At
least France and Spain may both test it in their
World Cup semi final today. France has allowed two goals
in six games and Spain in one. The suspicion is
that's the case because these are two elite teams, not
because they're two teams playing soccer and nobody ever scores.

(22:09):
It should be tough to score in final fours in
any sport. I'm looking forward to a struggle to produce chances,
let alone goals this afternoon. Yeah, I said that, I
really am. I want to see a battle royal today
and I want to get excited if there might be
a chance.

Speaker 3 (22:28):
You are your embrace of the World Cup has I
don't know what to say. It's surprising, but it's uh,
you know somewhat. I mean, I'm still not nuts for me,
I'm still not nuts for the sport. But I get
the beautiful game.

Speaker 12 (22:43):
I get the drama, I get the stakes, I get
the world stage, I get the passion, I get.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
The emotion that's compelling. Yeah, and it's gonna go away.
I mean that's the other thing. It's not like I'm
going to adopt Everton. Yeah, you're not gonna. I'm on
the weekend. You're gonna watch Premier League games. It's not
gonna happen.

Speaker 12 (23:00):
See at the Olympics, boys, But give us a good
ending here and go friends.

Speaker 3 (23:06):
We are from France. I just want Argentina to beat England.
That's all I care about. Last night, the home run
Derby pretty exciting by all accounts, Mike, for the people
who watch a terrible broadcast. Yeah, but no, well, I
mean I tried to watch it. It was just way
too annoying of of a production. But Jordan Walker had

(23:29):
such an amazing performance last night. He basically had to
hit six in a row because they changed the format
and you had limited swings, which I think is a
great idea, but they took a clock out of it,
which made it go until who knows what time. But
Jordan Walker's dad was behind home plate rooting on his son.
In a crowd full of Philly people who were cheering

(23:52):
for Kyle Schwarber, which was pretty funny. He got interviewed
after the game and he was, I don't know, man,
I mean, he's a great hitter.

Speaker 9 (24:03):
I saw him the tone and he was doing hitting
a whole lot of home runs.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
So I just came in here trying to be easy
and trying.

Speaker 9 (24:08):
To swing as easy as I can, and I'll go
on my way.

Speaker 4 (24:11):
They're still doing you.

Speaker 13 (24:12):
What's it like to have forty thousand people brew you.

Speaker 3 (24:14):
I was once sold.

Speaker 9 (24:15):
You don't boot nobody, So it feels pretty good.

Speaker 4 (24:17):
Yeah right, how about your dad, Derek? Get over here,
get over here?

Speaker 3 (24:21):
How about your boy?

Speaker 9 (24:22):
Oh he was awesome today. I just loved everything about it.
Just his attitude, his approach, the smoothness. Is this swing
look like his dad? But yeah, he just did a
great job. We're so proud of him. He just really
we're proud.

Speaker 14 (24:36):
He told me at six years old he hit her
home run, don't hat his grandma's car?

Speaker 4 (24:40):
When did you know he could be this?

Speaker 5 (24:42):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (24:42):
Man?

Speaker 9 (24:43):
So that was an indication there. That was one good invitation.
I think again, from early age, he always loved the
game He always loved to play baseball, loved to sleep
with his glove. He always had a bat. We traveled
with it all the time.

Speaker 3 (24:57):
He you know, h.

Speaker 9 (24:58):
Slept thought baseball, and he just kept progressing. He just
kept getting better and better and working in his craft.
And again, we can't be more proud.

Speaker 3 (25:08):
You said you were so nervous, Jordan coming in. We
full of me. We didn't look it. No, No, absolutely
was nervous.

Speaker 4 (25:14):
Man, hold on one thing, right, Howard.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
Ryan Howard comes over and blaying from right Howard. I mean,
that's pretty awesome. His family looks like like his sisters
were on the field with him and everything. It was
like an extremely wholesome moment. And it happened in front
of a bunch of angry Philly fans, which I absolutely loved.
They were booing him. His dad's like, we couldn't be

(25:40):
more proud of him. He slept with his glove. Yeah
that's Philly.

Speaker 9 (25:48):
I know.

Speaker 12 (25:49):
Harper goes out in the first round and Schoreburg got
that close, that.

Speaker 3 (25:53):
Close on the way for you. We'll talk with Sean
Casey coming up at age forty five, dumb mayor tonight
a Star game. I don't know what to be even
excited about her. How much I'll watch tonight. The year
that they tried to make it matter, I think things
took a turn in the All Star Game, and it's

(26:15):
I'm not sure that much should be riding on it,
you know what I mean?

Speaker 12 (26:21):
Well, they didn't used to have to have a carrot. Yes,
I mean the guys used to want to play. We
could get blasts on. He could tell the same stories
he's always told about how competitive it was.

Speaker 3 (26:30):
Yeah, Cason wouldn't talk to him in his own locker room.

Speaker 12 (26:33):
I get that that changed with free agency and interleague play.
And it's not you never see this guy against that
guy anymore. But the players do not want to really participate,
at at least too many of them. It's had an effect.
It's it's diluted it. Yeah, and if they don't care,
why should we.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
By the way, I just want to point out, I'm
just now realizing you're wearing your Rigs Baseball shirt this morning.
I am sick. Did you watch this cigarette? Smell out
of it or at the times? Yeah? I put mine
through twice? Did you?

Speaker 9 (27:05):
Ah?

Speaker 3 (27:05):
Nice?

Speaker 12 (27:07):
I like their slogan tho if you're not more side
you're outside there you go, Abby, I'll have your news
coming up at the top of the hour.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
So there was an MLB reporter that was on a
hot Mike calling Paul schemes of future Yankee.

Speaker 4 (27:17):
We'll play that audio for you. And Mick Jagger does
not believe in meeting your heroes.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
Joe Bartneck's live and studio with us as well this
morning on DV.

Speaker 1 (27:26):
The Electric Lunch sounds better because it's all request through
socials phone or the talk back on the iHeart radio app.
You picked the songs Michelle plays on the Electric Lunch
on DV.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
Hey friends, it's Abby, and think about the last time
you actually had your carpets cleaned because vacuuming.

Speaker 3 (27:46):
It turns out it's the DV Morning Show right down
and along with Mike Prosida, added Christener, Tad Whistler, Buddy,
Joe Bartnick is in studio with us this morning as well.
And well, the thing that the entire country is really
talking about right now is, uh, who that kooky little parasite.

Speaker 14 (28:09):
I have a I have diara, I have a Diaryea,
I have a diarea.

Speaker 15 (28:20):
Yes, it seems like we're all going to have a
bad case case area. Yeah, the name of it once again, cyclospora.

Speaker 4 (28:31):
Okay, that's the parasite.

Speaker 3 (28:33):
That's the parasite, and they believe for the most part
that it is in Lettuce. Michigan has tallied twenty six
and forty cases and forty four hospitalizations. That's what I'm saying.
This is not just like you pooped your pins, you
pop your pints, everybody going to the dookie dance. This

(28:56):
is something completely different.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
Yeah, Lettuce is the calm product that regularly comes up
in the investigation just because it's so difficult to clean.

Speaker 3 (29:05):
So you know, I think everything that you're ordering from
now on is going to be like mm no lettuce,
know nothing. You've get a cheeseburger, no veggies, no nothing.
According to doctor Priam Bordoloi, who is a specialist in
this kind of stuff, he says it loves fresh raw produce,

(29:28):
cyclospora and bagged salads. We talked about this yesterday. That's
the big culprit right now, which I think everybody just
thinks that means like, oh yeah, when they give you
the salad makings, and I think that's all like lettuce
that's bagged, which is almost exclusively what I've been using berries.

(29:50):
I'm a big berry guy. No berries anymore. Basil a
fresh basil. If you go your own at home, you're fine.
It's pretty easy to grow basil of it that way.
And cilantro completely microscopic. Of course, you don't catch it
from someone coughing. It's not like so if someone has
in your house, you can't get it from them.

Speaker 5 (30:11):
What if you kiss someone with cyclists bora, let's find.

Speaker 3 (30:15):
Out under the Kaufman's clock. No, I don't know. I
don't think you will get it. I think it's like
because it is ingested at that point.

Speaker 2 (30:25):
I don't think you'd want to kiss somebody who had it,
because they'd be like, no, it's not what you're looking for.

Speaker 3 (30:31):
Here's the thing, man, Like people who are sick like
or weakened immune systems or maybe going through chemo and
stuff like that. Older people, this can be life threatening.
It's no joke for them because it's severe dehydration. Uh,
they're saying now, Yesterday they were like, ah, just be
careful of whatever. Now they're like, no, no, no, avoid

(30:52):
all of this stuff for at least a week until
we learn a little bit more. No bag salads and
any vegetables you do have, you have to cook to
one hundred and fifty eight degrees. I think something like that.
That's what I saw. Okay, and fifty won't cut it now,
I don't believe so no, So just be very very careful.

Speaker 7 (31:13):
I saw a video on those bag selets. I threw
them all out.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
Yeah, they're just it's disgusting. I know. Neil Young always
used to say that during the farm made things. You're like,
those bag shells are bad for you. You know, I
go play with its. Well it's just easy then yeah
grab it.

Speaker 12 (31:31):
Yeah, but you throw a little protein in there and
you got a nice lunch.

Speaker 3 (31:34):
Yeah, except this kind of thing can happen. So should
you not eat vegetables at all? Well, you can still
eat vegetables. You just got to cook them. You got
to cook the bejesus out of them.

Speaker 5 (31:47):
What better day to make a nice, big hot pot
of soup than today?

Speaker 3 (31:52):
Ninety seven degrees And that's what you should. That's what
they're saying to do, is like, if you have veggies,
make a soup out of it. Yeah, yep, boil it,
great time for it. Boil it or just roll the dice. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (32:05):
Now is it like they knows all the lettuce from
like Wisconsin, or is it like they don't let us
all over the world. We know it's it's here, and
the program that we used to have to follow these
things and track it Elon and his doge buddies got
rid of it last year, so we have no idea
of knowing where this started, where it's located now, how

(32:27):
fast it's spreading, or any of that kind of stuff,
which makes it more fun for the family at home.

Speaker 3 (32:33):
Who's going to get it first? You don't want it,
I do know that much. But the fact that it's
constantly being described as explosive diarrhea is hilarious. Like we
said yesterday, it's just like a funny term, like what
are your symptoms? Well, it's, uh, explosive diarrhea docket. That's
basically what it is. No swimming for two Oh my god,

(33:00):
I didnt even think about that.

Speaker 7 (33:01):
But the other thing is, yeah, every signs like two weeks,
Like some comics have some great jokes.

Speaker 3 (33:08):
I hadn't thought about that. No swimming pool, So people, what.

Speaker 4 (33:11):
If you find out you have it at the pool?

Speaker 3 (33:15):
Oh yeah. The other weird thing is that like just
cook the parasite, And I'm like, well, you're still that's
weird that you're eating dead parasites. But I guess you
do that all the time when you cook things. But
now that I know it could be in there.

Speaker 5 (33:27):
Yeah, you don't even want to think that that is
something that you're engaging in constantly.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
Which you are the five.

Speaker 5 (33:34):
The incubation period is not great to do ten five
to ten days because you know it's like, it's not
happening on a Tuesday, it's going to be Saturday morning.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
You got plans. Oh yeah, Ah, I just hope it
doesn't happen if I get it. I don't want to
be around anybody. If you know it's going to be
in here. I hope not. I mean, you can hope
as much as you want. Randy, I'm terrified that that's
what's gonna happen. Goodness is it wouldn't ruin the studio. No,

(34:05):
you never know that is true. In here is gross.
Last night's home Run Derby reminded me of this. Do
you remember this girl's anthem from two years ago?

Speaker 10 (34:16):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (34:17):
Say, can you see.

Speaker 16 (34:22):
By the dawnsly?

Speaker 4 (34:28):
What's so proudly? We by the trio light?

Speaker 3 (34:35):
Last clean, food's broad shape.

Speaker 16 (34:41):
Sun bright, sad to the pairs, fine, oh the rest,
but we wat we're so gayly stream.

Speaker 4 (35:03):
Yet the bombs bust?

Speaker 3 (35:10):
All right, God bless her? All right.

Speaker 10 (35:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (35:12):
The weird thing about that she was like it was
so bad she had to come out afterwards and be
like I was hammered and I'm going to rehab see
you guys later.

Speaker 4 (35:20):
Yeah, that's all you can do.

Speaker 2 (35:21):
She sounds like one of those singers that like gets
a lot of accolades for being like a soft singer,
like Billie Eilish style, but like if they try to
belt it, it.

Speaker 4 (35:30):
Just goes sideways.

Speaker 2 (35:32):
Because she was introduced as like a national recording artist,
like they made a like they made a big deal
about her being like recording artists blah blah, and so
people's expectations were that that's.

Speaker 3 (35:42):
That she would know how to sing a little bit.
Yeah she did not. But I do think it's funny,
like you mentioned Billie English, like when people do the
anthem like they want to have sex with it, you know.

Speaker 4 (35:52):
It's like.

Speaker 3 (35:59):
Not the vibe. Francis Scott Key did not have a boner. Woah, wow,
Matty's going your news next. All right.

Speaker 2 (36:06):
So, an MLB reporter was caught on a hot mic
calling Paul Schemes a future Yankee.

Speaker 3 (36:11):
Sean Casey, former Yankee coach joining us a forty five
