Speaker 1 (00:02):
Pittsburgh an iHeart radio station guaranteed Human.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Wyndham Clark is a guy who is easy to kind
of root against, but I kind of think that his
infractions are so like lame. Like the irony of people
reacting to his not holding every single tenet of golf
as Sakra sank and their response to that is to
completely break protocol and be total morons on the course
(00:33):
to him is not lost on me. It's like, oh,
you hate that he's not a traditionalist or he doesn't
respect the sport, and then you're doing the least respectful
thing you can do during the game.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
Yeah, and the walk up thing is right, I mean,
we talked about it on part of my take, but
it's just so ridiculous.
Speaker 4 (00:48):
That's where people go to the bathroom.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
Like that's where guys are walking around with their pants
off and like old dudes are nude. And we said,
like listen, say what you will about Tiger Woods, but like,
good for it, Like he was smart enough to never
pop a couple of pills and flip his SUV in
the Oakmont locker room, because if he did that, he would.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Have been.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
Brandy Bellman and the DVE Morning Show.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
Hey, Cattilby joining us at eight forty five this morning
here on DVE, Abby Krisner with a news update for
you right now. Our buddy Joe Barnick is live in
studio with us as well, and uh, she's she's a
camera woman, she's a news person.
Speaker 5 (01:28):
And she's a had to make an adjustment.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Yeah, I mean, these cameras they have in here in
the studio for us top notch Jason suck so bad.
They're so good, you know, they lock us in a
bank vault, they have the most like this is the
least cool looking room to go in and be creative in.
And then they're like, and we want to film it
(01:52):
and show the whole Internet. And then they give us
Fisher Price Price cameras. Yeah, that absolutely suck and make
us all look like we're in that hot for Teacher
video looking the fish eyelids.
Speaker 6 (02:04):
Well, I know they.
Speaker 5 (02:05):
Don't want us to judge up the room in any
way that we.
Speaker 7 (02:09):
God for people to watch.
Speaker 5 (02:10):
Yeah, but like, can I project something onto the walls?
I don't like, maybe like a Batman signal and we'll
get like a big like Iron City logo, or we
could have like I don't know, just Donny Iris's head
spinning like they do.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
I like that that would be good, But like Mike
and Bob have the same problem. You look at our
videos in Miking Bob's videos, so the exact same room,
even though we're not in the exact same room.
Speaker 7 (02:33):
Because our company thought it would be a good idea.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
At some point, they're like, you know what, let's make
it as bland and as boring as possible. Let's make
it look like that Apple commercial of Dystopia and that
aired in the Super Bowl in nineteen eighty.
Speaker 5 (02:45):
It looked like an episode of Severn.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Yes, right, that make it look like we're locked in
the basement. And then we get yelled at because the
videos don't look that good. Oh, because we're now we're
freaking Steven'sberg on top of it all.
Speaker 5 (03:01):
Oh okay, I actually would like to fix the room anyway.
Speaker 7 (03:08):
Well, if I got.
Speaker 5 (03:09):
Us a palm tree, like I could get us lush
greens that doesn't impact the wall integrity. I could just
do like a big olive tree.
Speaker 7 (03:17):
Guys, guys, I love it.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
Any kind of tree is good for me. I'm totally
fine with it. Maybe some maybe some lights jush up
the place a little.
Speaker 5 (03:27):
Bit Christmas lights. I have a whole string I just
took out of my daughter's room.
Speaker 7 (03:30):
I'll bring them in.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Yeah, just I'll do it, do something, and then maybe
it won't look like you know this, this ridiculous situation
that they have locked us into. Oh it's nice and
sunny today, we won't know solitary confine.
Speaker 7 (03:44):
Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
We're locked in the vault like al Pacino's outside negotiating.
Speaker 7 (03:51):
Na, maybe he won't shoot all of us.
Speaker 5 (03:56):
The bault is safe for us today though, because it
is a code red air.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
Actually this is our company having our back today. You
don't have to go outside and breathe.
Speaker 5 (04:04):
Uh that by the way, issued by the State Department
and Environmental Protection, the particulate matter in the air PM
two point five because of the wildfire smoke. I don't
know that sounds bad.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
Well, so three hundred is the EPA says, don't go
outside when it's three hundred.
Speaker 5 (04:25):
So we're two point five.
Speaker 7 (04:27):
This is cause that's that's very bad.
Speaker 5 (04:31):
If we're just a two point five and I'm using
my puffer this morning.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
No, this is sixty the one that I'm looking up
right now on IQRE. But like Toledo, Ohio is at
five hundred and eighty right now. Woof, so that we
could be seeing a little more something along that direction.
I don't think we'll get nearly that high, but there
are towns in Michigan that are at one thousand, one thousand.
Speaker 5 (04:56):
That's insane. Well, the implosion of the bridge just happened,
so that'll help on top of that. If you saw
any of the video, which is very funny, the same
person that told us it was not going to implode
today just send another email that said.
Speaker 7 (05:10):
Holy f it just exploded.
Speaker 5 (05:14):
So now it's just nothing but a gigantic plume of
white smoke.
Speaker 7 (05:19):
Oh you have not seen the follow ups, but it's.
Speaker 5 (05:22):
They're supposed to let that die down for a couple
of days before they can even start the next phase
of the project. Like they're waiting. It's going to take
a long time for that smoke to clear before they
can even start moving the bridge.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
Uh okay, yeah, the official iHeartRadio press release here is
holy f it just imploded.
Speaker 7 (05:44):
So just you know, well, I'm not sure why that
was a surprise.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
No, yeah, well the reason was a surprise. I don't
know if you saw the email before that there was
two minutes prior to that is that pen Dot had
told our person thirty minutes until eight thirty is the time. Uh,
and they said they will let us know five minutes
before and then that's why the next update is Holy
f it just exploded.
Speaker 7 (06:10):
Premature implosure. That's right. It never happens to me. Happens
to lots of bridges. Guys implode at home before you
go out on Yeah, I should have been thinking about
the pirate, that's right.
Speaker 5 (06:27):
Experts do suggest wearing an N ninety five mask if
you have to be outside, and keeping your indoor air
cleaner by closing windows and running an air purifier or
an air conditioner.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Today again, I said that the you know, the tweet
of the day yesterday was from the dude who said,
breathing in hefty lungfuls of smoke as I get explosive
diarrhea from salad, the sky turns apocalyptic orange. While oil
companies drilling protected land screw worms are eating cattle alive,
and the president just paid six million dollars for rape,
and I'm able to bet on all of it. We
(07:02):
are living in interesting times.
Speaker 7 (07:04):
Oh god.
Speaker 5 (07:06):
Uh, speaking of interesting times, this could have been my algorithm.
I don't know if you heard that. Chuck Schumer seemingly
rips an extremely loud fart on the Senate floor. Take
a listen, and.
Speaker 6 (07:18):
We need a complete investigation that's independent now on Iran
and the NDAA when all the Trump administration.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Okay, look at a time when cyclost Bory he's a
running rampant. That might just be the warning shot across
the bile that you're gonna have to pay a little
attention to their Chuck I just shumered in my pants.
(07:51):
Is he related to Amy Shows her uncle?
Speaker 7 (07:53):
Really?
Speaker 2 (07:54):
Yeah, he's not on ozembic though she bummed me out
when I will say when she did the DV Comedy Fest,
she was so fun.
Speaker 7 (08:04):
We had a blast with her.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
She was super cool, except she wouldn't take pictures with
with the sponsors of the fans.
Speaker 7 (08:09):
She's like, is that my contract?
Speaker 5 (08:11):
Really?
Speaker 1 (08:11):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (08:11):
And we were like, uh no. She's like, am I
see if I don't do that? Am I see if
I don't do that. I'm like, no, if you don't
do that, you don't have to do that. She's like, Okay,
I don't want to do that. Okay, And you know
there's like three pictures that you take or whatever. But
that was the only thing. The rest of the time.
Speaker 7 (08:26):
She was an absolute blast. We had so much fun
that night.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
But it bummed me out when she went from being
missed body positivity to took ozempic, got hot thirst traps
all over the internet, left her husband.
Speaker 5 (08:40):
Seems like that happens to everybody, even Well, I should
take that back, because I was gonna say that Lizzo,
you know, has been like body positivity and everything. But
I don't think she did Ozempic because she actually went
like through like a fitness regime and like her album
just tanked. And she said as soon as the album tanked,
I gained back like twenty pounds.
Speaker 7 (09:00):
Didn't her fans get mad at her for losing weight.
Speaker 5 (09:02):
Though, Yeah, that's but that's part of it. If that
is your messaging as you're entering into.
Speaker 7 (09:09):
Well Billy has said it.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
Gardell has said it many times that he hears constantly
from fans that like, we liked it better when you
were fat. He's like, yeah, I couldn't walk up steps. Yeah,
you know, like I was having trouble breathing. I was
gonna have a massive coronary this is better.
Speaker 8 (09:24):
Yeah, that's like the greatest ClickHole story of all time.
Click Hoole is like that other onion spoof website.
Speaker 7 (09:32):
It's like.
Speaker 8 (09:34):
Plus size actress who was already beautiful loses one hundred
pounds in great motivational script flipped. But then they like
the article is them, you know, saying like both things
are great, and then like being mad at the other
one and just like flipping the perspective the whole time.
Speaker 7 (09:51):
It's hilarious. I don't.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
I mean, it's strange to me because at the same time,
I think there is more body positivity out there than
ever before. Women who carry a little extra weight have
never felt so free to just flaunt it, and I
think that's good.
Speaker 5 (10:11):
I see a lot of even like young girls at
the mall that like they are not covering anything, and
I again, that's one of those things I tread lightly
on because I'm like, I want everybody to feel good
in their body. And then also sometimes I'm like, wow,
it's just impressive because I couldn't be me.
Speaker 9 (10:28):
Yeah, feel good, just don't show us. But I'm you know, like,
if you're four hundred pounds, it shouldn't be all with
positivity and you do you like, no, you are so unhealthy.
Speaker 7 (10:40):
Yeah, you gotta get healthy.
Speaker 5 (10:42):
I just have a natural hate for myself, like a
normal person, right self notwithstanding.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
I mean this is like people who avoid the fact that,
like I think, there are natural like, hey, I'm this
is my body weight, and I work out and this
is where and I you know, that's genetic and there
are people who are dangerous and dangerously overweight and they
should treat it like a health issue.
Speaker 9 (11:08):
That's yes, Yeah, I mean I'm you know, I could
lose a few pounds and I'm happy.
Speaker 7 (11:13):
Well, I was talking about it.
Speaker 6 (11:15):
Chubby.
Speaker 7 (11:16):
Chubby's happy, you know it really is. Chubby is happy. Well,
you have a bet about that? Yeah, I do.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
Bet.
Speaker 9 (11:22):
I mean I think everyone you have a couple of
pounds on you, you feel better than.
Speaker 7 (11:25):
Oh, I've been working on them.
Speaker 9 (11:26):
It's like, no, you writ the buck and a pizza
in the Hogy, you drink a six pack, you feel
better than if you really worked out hard.
Speaker 7 (11:33):
Kind of in a.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
Way, Well, Ethos has always been to like, when I
am having a good time, I'm not going to keep
myself from having a good time. But I'm not trying
to make everything into a party, so like, you know,
if I'm eating lunch by myself, it doesn't need to
be a huge HOGI you know what I mean. It's like,
I'm not healthy and work out during the week and
then on the weekend if a pounds of beers and
(11:55):
someone's like you want wings, and like.
Speaker 7 (11:57):
Yeah, yes I do, I do, and then you go, no, you.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Know what, I'm like two, I'm like to However, many
are ordering like I'm good for two, and then you
eat eight. That's how it happens. And you have a
pizza late night when you're banged up, and when you
go home. You wake up the next morning and there's
rappers on the counter and you're.
Speaker 7 (12:13):
Like, what did I do?
Speaker 2 (12:14):
And then you take account of your night before and
then you deal with it that week.
Speaker 9 (12:18):
But like, everybody should be able to have a good time.
Everyone should be like, ah, he's a couple of pazza,
he's twenty pases away whatever he's But if you can't
walk up steps, yes, that's a problem. And then promoting
is like, oh, she's just let her be herself. She's
probably out, she's being herself or he's being himself. It's no,
you're unhealthy. Yeah, you're gonna die young.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
There was a I don't know if it was Sports
Illustrated or it was like one of the fitness magazines
was like the new face of health and it was
like a clinically obese person and people were furious, yeah,
because they're like, hey, you gotta make the distinction. It's like,
it's okay if you're not movie star spelt, but you
(13:01):
can't promote unhealthiness. So someone's like, look, it's fine to
just sit here and eat unhealthy and all that other stuff.
Speaker 8 (13:07):
The headline that I botched from the spoof website is
this plus size model was inspiring, but then she lost
one hundred pounds, which was also inspiring, even though she
was already perfect before, but she's also perfect now.
Speaker 5 (13:29):
It's also this phenomenon though, when you brought up Amy Schumer,
and this is happening with male actors as well, that
they dropped the weight, they get the body, and the
divorces immediate.
Speaker 7 (13:41):
Tom. People are saying this about Tom Sigar, saying about Tom.
Speaker 5 (13:44):
Sigart, that would happened, Like Jason Biggs even said, oh,
I lost like forty pounds and then boom divorced. It's
just like, but I'm like, I'm so curious about this.
If this is like a side effect of a GLP one.
Speaker 7 (13:58):
Like in your brain, like in your no, I think there's.
Speaker 5 (14:01):
It's saying no to all these pleasure center things.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
There's a lot of people wondering about that. But the
GLP ones, they're saying that the compulsion aspect of your
brain gets like whittled down to next to nothing in
terms of like coursiveness over your actions, and then you
stop to crave. You stop craving lots of things. And
that's why they were saying. It was like, hey, this
(14:25):
is going to be effective against people or for people
want to quit smoking, but then a lot of other
pleasurable things might fall into that Eventually. He's like, I
don't want to have sex. Well, if you don't want
to have sex, why would you get divorced? Sounds like
you're in a perfect.
Speaker 7 (14:45):
Situation, all right.
Speaker 5 (14:50):
A medium is a person who claims to act as
a bridge between the physical world and the spiritual realm.
So if anyone on earth knows anything about death, it
probably is them. But here are the four biggest things
that mediums say that they wish everyone knew about death.
Speaker 7 (15:09):
Number one.
Speaker 5 (15:09):
They believe that death is not the end. They describe
it as a shift instead of a goodbye. They say
loved ones are still connected to us, just in a
different way. And many believe that signs can show up
in dreams, songs, or unexpected moments.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
Yeah, like when Paully goes to see the medium in
the Sopranos, he's like, Chucky says, you were he was
your first.
Speaker 7 (15:32):
Are you still itchy? Yeah, I hear you home. He
gives me a gay sler. It's so funny. Ghosts. I
don't know.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
I kind of believe that, Like I think there might
be another dimension, for lack of a better word, just
stuff we don't understand.
Speaker 5 (15:49):
I don't know happy to not understand it, but I'm
open to it.
Speaker 7 (15:54):
Well, I've definitely had.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
Experiences that I could chalk up the circumstance, or I
could if I want to leave that it was, you know,
somebody or some something making its presence known. You know,
I told you when when my my buddy Kevin died,
Like that night, I was sitting at my piano and
the top key just started going.
Speaker 7 (16:16):
Plink plink plink out of nowhere, and it was annoying
and something he would totally do, like what you do
you playing piano? Playing pan pant you know. And I
told everybody.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
I was like, I mean, it's kind of strange that
it happened there where I was just sitting there and
uh and I wasn't even playing. I was kind of
like looking at the piano and then it just started going.
Speaker 7 (16:39):
Clink clink, plea.
Speaker 5 (16:40):
It's crazy.
Speaker 8 (16:42):
My dad sort of shaped my, uh my views on
the afterlife and stuff like that. I remember I was
like four, I'm like, Dad, is there a heaven? He's like, no,
I don't think so, and he just like continued to
drive around. I'm like, so, what happens He's like.
Speaker 6 (16:58):
You just die?
Speaker 5 (16:59):
Like right, thanks dad.
Speaker 8 (17:02):
Yeah, I'm walking through food Land and downtown Imperial having
this crisis at four years.
Speaker 10 (17:09):
Old, existential crisis.
Speaker 7 (17:13):
Show it just nothing.
Speaker 8 (17:16):
Nope, uh huh No, you're still talking about that. No, yeah,
there's no point to this.
Speaker 5 (17:21):
Nope.
Speaker 7 (17:26):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
I'm very firmly in the I don't know camp, and
I think that our brains can make us see and
hear and want a lot of things to happen that
may or may not be happening. But I withhold the
you know, reservation to believe that there's something I just
don't know what the hell it is.
Speaker 5 (17:48):
They say, as their second point, that fear is normal,
but they say don't let it take over. The medium
say it's natural to wonder what happens after we die,
just don't let the fear take control, which, as Dad's
talking about, I imagine that when you know, I have
a conversation with my kid about this, I probably won't
say that, but I.
Speaker 7 (18:09):
Would probably encourage to live.
Speaker 8 (18:12):
Now, Hey it worked out great ish.
Speaker 7 (18:16):
Look at me now you bounced back? Yeah? Uh, I mean.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
Being raised Catholic, it was like, you know, none of
this matters. It's all about the next stage, you know, like,
all right, can we have a little more fun in
this stage?
Speaker 3 (18:33):
Though?
Speaker 7 (18:35):
Right as they're imposing some super strict rules.
Speaker 5 (18:38):
Well, that always like didn't sit well with me. Whenever
you know, talking about how bad Hell would be so
that you would behave here on earth, and I kept thinking, like.
Speaker 9 (18:46):
All the sex stuff happens down there, why is that better?
Speaker 7 (18:54):
Hell sounds awesome. It's full of cool people.
Speaker 5 (18:57):
Number three, they believe that pain stays behind. According to
the mediums, once someone dies, their physical and emotional pain
is gone. Some even believe that the soul continues learning
beyond this life.
Speaker 7 (19:10):
I can do the rubuscube now suck to have a
bad back in heaven. No, it's great, but take it
up these steps.
Speaker 6 (19:22):
Ye.
Speaker 7 (19:23):
No, the harp is way heavier than.
Speaker 11 (19:27):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (19:27):
And fourth and final thing on the list. No one
crosses over alone.
Speaker 7 (19:31):
They say.
Speaker 5 (19:32):
One of the biggest misconceptions is that people die lonely. Instead,
they believe loved ones are welcomed with peace and love.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
Yeah, all your relatives are there and they go, come
on over. We've been watching you masturbate for the last
four years.
Speaker 7 (19:46):
You like some freaky stuff.
Speaker 10 (19:48):
You are weird, my god, things you've done to socks,
Hartley Sonny and toasty conditions today wildfire smoke will create
unhealthy air quality and poor visibility.
Speaker 5 (20:02):
It's a high of ninety three.
Speaker 7 (20:03):
All right, that sounds great. Micha will be in with
your sports in just a little bit.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
England gets eliminated by Messi and Argentina yesterday Big Cat

Looking forward to the second half, the un official second
half of the Major League Baseball season that'll commence for
the Buckos Friday Night in Cleveland Jared Jones against Gavin
Williams seven to ten, Game one in Cleveland. Then it'll
be Braxton Ashcraft against Joey Cantillo at four to ten
(22:15):
on Saturday, Paul Skeins against Tanner Bbie in the series
finale one forty pm on Sunday. Pirates currently sitting at
fifty and forty seven. Couple of games out in the
wildcard chase, and according to fangrafts, for what it's worth,
the Pirates are being given a forty one point three
percent chance to make the playoffs, which I think. I
(22:40):
don't know how they arrived at that number, but that
feels right to me.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
Okay, well, you know how that goes one series the
you know, they drop all three this weekend, that drops
down at thirty four.
Speaker 12 (22:48):
Yeah, the three wildcard teams. According to fangrass, Philadelphia's got
an eighty six point one percent chance, the Cubs seventy
six point eight, and Miami, which is currently head of
the Pirates, has a thirty three point seven percent chance.
This is going to be a really fascinating second half
because there are only six and a half games separating
(23:13):
the Washington Nationals and the Cubs, who are currently the
first wild card. Eight teams within six and a half games,
only three of them are going to ultimately advance, So
it's going to be a pretty crazy game of musical chairs.
Pirates was sixty five games left and they have twenty
one of those against Chicago, Arizona, Miami, St. Louis, or
(23:34):
San Diego, which are five of the eight contenders. Bucks
already done with Philadelphia and Washington. Nothing like starting strong
in the second half Cleveland and the Pirates starting Friday
night in Cleveland, the Mets and Phillies will play tonight
to usher baseball back after the All Star break.
Speaker 7 (23:57):
Two to one.
Speaker 12 (23:58):
Argentina over England yesterday, and about his dramatic and compelling
and exciting and captivating and I don't know what else
sporting event you could ask for. England got the lead
early in the second half of the fifty five minute mark.
Argentina comes back with goals at the eighty five minute
mark and the ninety second minute mark into extra time.
(24:21):
Lionel Messi assisted that second goal, was on both goals. Yeah,
he has ten assists in the World Cup knockout stage,
which is six more than any other players had in
at least the last sixty years. He also has a
goal or an assist in eleven straight World Cup games
dating back to twenty twenty two. G's phenomenal. Yeah, at
(24:44):
thirty nine, and it was fascinating to me. I thought
they did a great job on the broadcast. They would
have those wide shots and a lot of the time
he'd just be standing over by the sideline, just kind
of watching and waiting and I forget which an he's
gonna pounce when he senses an opportunity, and then all
of a sudden you see him spring in action and
(25:05):
he gets the ball and then stuff starts happening.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
Yes, incredible entertainment, just incredible yesterday. Don't miss the finale
Sunday at three o'clock and that was highly chippy in
the first half. I missed the first half. I only
saw the second half, and it was chuck full of entertainment,
a lot of contact.
Speaker 12 (25:26):
I mean, it was it's socker. So it's not like
Willis mccahee against Ryan.
Speaker 7 (25:31):
They still beat the hell out of each other.
Speaker 12 (25:33):
And they were taking what they could get away with
as well. And then it sort of settled down and
it was much more of a game in the second half.
England's getting crushed for its tactics to coach, in particular
of just trying to sit back and play defense after
taking that one to nothing lead. That was probably a
bad idea, but also the execution was just awful. If
(25:55):
you're going to play defense, you got to defend well.
Speaker 9 (25:58):
They were saying too that like it was one one
they didn't know what was gonna happen because England brought
in all their defensive people and Argentina had all the
offensive people.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
Yep, and on the attackers. That coach really screwed up.
They are not happy with him.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
No.
Speaker 2 (26:16):
Apparently, English like sports talk was hilarious yesterday and somebody
posted that all kinds of Irish and Scottish people were
calling into these national shows.
Speaker 7 (26:27):
Just to heckle them. That's so great, that's awesome.
Speaker 12 (26:33):
The NHL has announced home openers for its new eighty
four game season that's going to commence on September the
twenty ninth. The Penguins will be at Philadelphia on September
the thirtieth. Pence home opener is October the third against Montreal.
Penguins will also play in the Capitol's home opener, which
(26:53):
isn't until October the seventh. Everybody's full schedule would be
released today and New Jersey has reached agreement with Anthony
Manth on a two year, nine point five million dollar contract.
Manthis one year with the Penguins. This past season a
career high thirty three goals and thirty one assists for
(27:13):
a career high sixty four points in eighty one regular
season games, Joey Bay, I give him a nice pat
on the back and show him the door. Thanks for
your service, Tony.
Speaker 9 (27:23):
But I'll tell you this, you lost ten million dollars
at least by not burying a couple in the playoffs.
Speaker 7 (27:30):
You one assist in the six game of elimination against Philly.
He gets two goals.
Speaker 9 (27:34):
He's getting at least a three times seven point seventy
five from somebody.
Speaker 7 (27:40):
Anthony Mantha had a panton Namesamantha.
Speaker 9 (27:45):
Hey, Tony, he kind of ruined Kyle Dubas's plans. Yeah,
Yle won the t won the tank this year for
last year.
Speaker 7 (27:54):
Want to sign him and trade him? Yeah?
Speaker 12 (27:57):
Yeah, say by the Geno No, like we're in play
They could have said Geno, Yeah, yeah, who's he hurting?
Speaker 7 (28:08):
I mean we can talk about this every day. He
is he hurting?
Speaker 6 (28:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (28:12):
Who's he's helping?
Speaker 7 (28:14):
Everybody? What are they accomplishing? They made it to the playoffs?
Speaker 12 (28:18):
Yay?
Speaker 9 (28:20):
Hey, you know selling tickets too. One of every three
people has a Gino jersey on. It's true.
Speaker 7 (28:27):
It's a big deal in that leg. Like Eno, Let's
see how.
Speaker 2 (28:31):
Much they like him when he's fucking wind in November.
Speaker 7 (28:36):
Should have given him five years.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
Guy Junker, next hour, Guy Junker should be on the
Pittsburgh Walk of Fame. Mario made it this year. Mario
is one of the ten people well deserved. Yeah, he
should have been on the first one. It's kind of
egregious that he wasn't. He's going to show for the ceremony.
That blows me away. But you know what I remember?
I remember Michael Keaton. Should have They spelled Michael Keaton's
name wrong, unforgivable. Yeah, on the Star last year they
(29:01):
spelled it wrong. They spelled Michael wrong.
Speaker 9 (29:02):
Mickay Oil. Yeah, I do that all the time. But
I'm a little dyslexic. I mean they shouldn't.
Speaker 7 (29:07):
Yeah, you're not.
Speaker 8 (29:07):
You're not making stone works to be displayed in front
of everyone.
Speaker 4 (29:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (29:12):
Where is that the Smallman Street?
Speaker 2 (29:14):
I thought it was at the terminal on Smallman, Like
right on the terminal.
Speaker 7 (29:20):
It's good spot for Yeah, why not?
Speaker 2 (29:22):
Well, I hope that Mario gets a good spot. Franco too.
Franco's in it this year. That's another one that's the
first ballot.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
Guy.
Speaker 7 (29:28):
Yeah, it's on Smallman, says Henry Mancini.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
Not the bread guys Yeah, I gotta bet.
Speaker 12 (29:36):
That on there, Dexter's power ballot Chlnge, Henry Vancini, the
other one, the other.
Speaker 7 (29:41):
One, the full disclosure.
Speaker 11 (29:43):
We're buying your loyalty with the only currency we have.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
Music.
Speaker 11 (29:47):
Chad Tyson kicks off his show every weekday at three
with a commercial free rock block.
Speaker 7 (29:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (29:53):
We sell a little less, but rock a little more
with Tyson afternoons on.
Speaker 8 (29:58):
DV, does your driveway or walkway just keep getting worse?
Sunken slabs, cracks, uneven steps before you start thinking constantly?
Speaker 2 (30:07):
Rue, It's the DV Morning Show, Randy Bauman, I'm would
Tad Whistle.
Speaker 7 (30:16):
Joe Bartnek live in studio with us this morning.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
Our next guest brought to you by Yingling Traditional Lagger.
It's a ying laying thing, Brewing America's lagger since eighteen
twenty nine. Big caffin Barstool Sports joining us, right, Yeah, yeah,
what's that?
Speaker 6 (30:32):
Whoa? I'm getting an applause. That felt nice with some guys.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
We're just doing, you know what, I'm trying to get
a little momentum going, you know what I mean. The
air is full of smoke here right now. The lettuce
is giving us all weeks long diarrhea. I just want
people to, you know, just to perk up a little bit.
Speaker 6 (30:48):
You know, have you do you know anyone who's gotten
hit by the lettuce diarrhea situation, because I maybe it's
way worse than I'm imagining, but I feel like I've
been training my life for this.
Speaker 7 (31:00):
And I'm not worried at all.
Speaker 4 (31:01):
Like this one, this is one I can handle.
Speaker 6 (31:04):
You know, when COVID happened, I get it. When all
these other things, when when the swine flew, I don't
know what that, but when they're like, hey, you have
you get gyria for a few days, Like, all right,
I've been lifting weights. I got this, Like, don't worry.
I don't need to see a doctor.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (31:18):
Well, not to be all like a pedantic about it,
but it's a few weeks.
Speaker 6 (31:23):
Bill, got it. You'll you'll probably still buy a fewer
amount of days than my worst days.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
I believe in you. I believe in you, big cat.
Let's first talk about the All Star Game. Okay, uh,
you guys did your own home run home run derby yesterday?
Speaker 6 (31:38):
Yes, yes, we did. We do it every year and
it's a nice reminder that I'm old and have no
power left and just frustrated it at Father.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
Todd, How how bad do your sides hurt today?
Speaker 6 (31:53):
My sides hurt, my quads hurt.
Speaker 4 (31:56):
So the format was funny.
Speaker 6 (31:57):
It was uh, I think, I think.
Speaker 4 (31:59):
What I need to keep happening.
Speaker 6 (32:01):
So it was all of us. There's eight barstool people,
and then you had to go find a partner, and
so a lot of people just found like a friend
or something. I got two time All Star Jason Kidnis
who played on the Guardians, who lives in Chicago, and
so I think I need to just like, as older
as I get, I need to find younger and younger
MLB All Stars we.
Speaker 4 (32:21):
Will compete with me.
Speaker 6 (32:21):
But he was awesome and he was fun and it's
like it's always funny just watching a guy who played
professionally and like just seeing just how smooth everything is
and how.
Speaker 7 (32:31):
Good he is at all the little things.
Speaker 2 (32:33):
Well, the Home Run Derby the other night, I mean,
Will Ferrell and those guys got some pretty bad reviews,
and obviously that was just an overreach and it doesn't
need to be, you know, everything Netflix does. They just
try to shoehorn all this comedy into it. But the
home run Derby remains pretty pretty fun to watch usually.
(32:53):
I think the change they made to it this year
really benefited having like no clock but a limited amount
of swings and then that come from behind win was.
Speaker 7 (33:02):
I mean, that was pretty exciting. The highlight of All
Star Week, no doubt.
Speaker 4 (33:07):
I agree.
Speaker 6 (33:07):
Yeah, it was thrilling, and yeah it was My biggest
complaint the last few years was that we were getting
to a point where it was not like a home
run Derby.
Speaker 4 (33:15):
It was just who can hit like quickest and fastest.
Speaker 7 (33:18):
Yeah, and you.
Speaker 6 (33:19):
Wouldn't get to watch any of the home runs actually
land and when you think of like home run derbys
in the late nineties and early two thousands when guys
had a limited amount of swings and it was our
outs and it was like you get to watch these moonshots.
So I think they did a good job as well.
It was interesting to watch, like the Phillies kind of had.
(33:40):
I just kept on thinking like there was gonna be
a big moment for a Philly, whether it be Schwarburn,
the home run derby, Christopher Sanchez, you know, pitching to
start in the game, Bryce Harper coming up, and it
just they just didn't.
Speaker 7 (33:51):
Have one of those moments, but.
Speaker 6 (33:53):
It was a good week. I left the All Star
Game for midjor league baseball. People try to fix in
a million ways, do all these things. It's like, it
is still the best All Star weekend or week of
any of the sports. It's not even close. Like no
other sport comes in. They canceled the NFL, you know,
the Pro Bowl.
Speaker 4 (34:11):
I don't even know what the NHL.
Speaker 6 (34:13):
Does, and the NBA is like an absolute joke of
a weekend. So they still do it better than everyone else.
Speaker 2 (34:18):
I kind of fall on the line of it's better
to have the All Star Game than to not have
an All Star Game and some of the things, because
this one just ended up being boring.
Speaker 7 (34:31):
It's like, well, sometimes that happens. When they started.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
Doing like interviewing people during the game, I thought that's
that was kind of a cool aspect to it, and
I like seeing them out there in their respective uniforms.
I hated when they do the you know, American League
unis and the National League unis and it shouldn't have
any playoff implications. It should just be a celebration of
the sport. The NFL does a good job with that
(34:54):
with the draft and other things where it becomes like,
you know, NFL con and Major League Baseball gets that
through their All Star week. So as boring as it is,
at least it's a nice celebration of the game, and
there's a historical element to it, and we always get
to talk about Pete Rose light not Fossey at the plate,
Bob Gibson, Bean and guys and stuff like that, you know,
the glory days of it. But as far as it
(35:16):
being the best All Star game, I mean, it would
be hard for me to argue that, only because everyone
else kind of just kind of quit on it.
Speaker 7 (35:26):
Hockey comes a little close, even so.
Speaker 6 (35:30):
You agree with me, Yeah, just because everyone else stinks
doesn't mean it's not the best.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
No, right, you get it.
Speaker 6 (35:36):
Yeah, yeah, I want to be accomplished.
Speaker 7 (35:40):
It's by and fault.
Speaker 2 (35:41):
But just because it stinks doesn't mean I don't think
we I mean, it's the best of all of the
games at stake, doesn't mean we shouldn't have it.
Speaker 7 (35:48):
I still think it should still exist.
Speaker 6 (35:50):
I agree. I also, you forgot to mention that Ray Charles.
Speaker 7 (35:53):
Is still alive.
Speaker 6 (35:54):
I don't know if any of you you brought you guy,
you guys know music a.
Speaker 7 (35:57):
Little bit better than me.
Speaker 11 (35:58):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (35:59):
I thought he was still alive for like a minute there,
And boy did I feel stupid when they like zoomed
out and he was in Milwaukee in two thousand and
two on the video for Yeah. I don't know. Maybe
I was just so pumped that he was still alive.
Speaker 4 (36:13):
And I was just like, Oh, this is so awesome.
Speaker 6 (36:15):
And then I looked at it because I was like, wait,
but Stevie Wonderson, Stevie Wonders is still alive. But yeah,
I felt really stupid things. Ray Charles was still alive.
Speaker 2 (36:22):
Yeah, they did the America the beautiful rendition from many
years ago.
Speaker 7 (36:26):
Not alive, although you know it's hard now with AI.
Speaker 2 (36:29):
Who knows, they could probably just recreate Ray Charles whenever
they wanted to. What is your take on that, Zach Hampell,
dude who collects all the bait, who's like the home
run baseball collecting guy, who might be the most obnoxious
sports collector in the history of the game.
Speaker 6 (36:47):
Misunderstood genius, the greatest of all time? Okay, okay, Ilica's
jealous rage from all the losers and nobody's which I
sound like you're one of them.
Speaker 13 (36:59):
Well, Listen, people, if you could go out and catch
thirteen thousand foul balls and home runs, you would, but
you can't because you're a nobody.
Speaker 6 (37:10):
And Zach Campbell's to somebody and he's the best that's
ever done it. And I don't know why we've as
a country, we've stopped, uh, you.
Speaker 4 (37:18):
Know, like greatness to that level we will never see again.
Speaker 6 (37:23):
Why why are we shunning it? Why are we Why
are we saying, oh, this is not fair, Oh like
a little kid. No, No, he's the best to ever
do it. And anyone who's upset about it is a
jealous baby.
Speaker 2 (37:34):
It's like saying he's the best TMZ Reporter's inherent that
he's doing what?
Speaker 6 (37:43):
What's what? What? What annoys you about it?
Speaker 4 (37:46):
Because you're a loser and you can't catch a fowel ball?
Speaker 7 (37:48):
Precisely, yes, precisely that.
Speaker 6 (37:52):
I love him. I've always defended him. I think it's funny.
I think it's like, listen, if you show me footage
of him like actually stealing it from a kid, I'll
be like, Okay, that was that was messed up. But
for the most part, he's always just in it with adults,
and he's just better than them, And yeah, is he
a little bit quirky? Yeah? Maybe is maybe not like
socially the most normal dude. Like, are you gonna be like, hey,
(38:15):
I want to a beer with him? Yeah, I'll agree
with you that there. But like, in terms of greatness,
he's cut over thirteen thousand follow balls. What are we doing?
He's the greatest of all time?
Speaker 7 (38:25):
He's pretty amongst us World Cup talk.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
Now, yesterday's game was insane, you know, Francis Spain was
a really good game too. But England Argentina, my god,
England completely choked. But I guess that this is kind
of a broad brush question for you, you know, I
mean I played soccer, you know, from a little kid
in some you know, till like you know, intermurals through college.
I love watching soccer, but I don't get into the
(38:50):
premier leagues. I always watch the World Cup. To me,
this World Cup was more enjoyable than anyone I can
remember in quite some time. And I don't know I
can really quantify why that is. But do you think
it'll really have an effect on American soccer? Because the
ratings for USA Belgium, we're fifty one million viewers tuned
(39:12):
in for that.
Speaker 7 (39:13):
That's no small potatoes.
Speaker 4 (39:16):
Yeah, I think it will.
Speaker 6 (39:18):
I think it absolutely will.
Speaker 7 (39:19):
I mean you can't.
Speaker 4 (39:20):
It's just like, will the.
Speaker 6 (39:22):
Gold medal game for the USA Hockey have an effect
on USA Hockey?
Speaker 7 (39:27):
Yeah, you have to say.
Speaker 6 (39:28):
It will because there are kids watching.
Speaker 4 (39:30):
It that we're gonna you know, they'll look to.
Speaker 6 (39:32):
That and look to their heroes. Will it mean that
we're gonna be good at soccer?
Speaker 7 (39:35):
Absolutely not.
Speaker 6 (39:36):
We suck as a country at soccer. And I've been preaching.
Speaker 4 (39:39):
This to everyone. It's okay, like we I'm okay, just being.
Speaker 6 (39:43):
Like, hey, culturally, soccer is never going to be the
number one sport here and that's so we're never gonna
care as much as all these other countries. I've actually
gone so far. I'm reversing it. I think you know
that everyone's making this argument that we should have our
best athletes play in the world that you know, in soccer,
and we would win the World Cup. I think we
should reverse it. I think all the best soccer players
(40:05):
we should just reassign them to like mac uh slot receivers,
because like Kristin Pulafitch being like a nasty punt returner
for bowling Green would mean more to this country than
us losing in the round of sixteen, like getting whites
with Belgium. Do you know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (40:23):
That's a Tuesday night that will never forget.
Speaker 6 (40:26):
He's given us like a Monday afternoon in July every
four years that we have.
Speaker 7 (40:30):
To be ashamed of ourselves.
Speaker 6 (40:32):
We got yeah, yeah, yeah, let's read, let's let's boost
up the mac and and forget about soccer. We're never
gonna win, like we're never gonna win the World Cup.
And that's okay, We're just It's just I know that
people want it badly. I get it. I get on
the train every single four years. We're never gonna win
(40:53):
the World Cup.
Speaker 4 (40:53):
The levels to this are so pronounced, and we're so
much worse than these top teams.
Speaker 6 (40:59):
Belgium wipe the floor of those almost.
Speaker 4 (41:01):
Like the ninth best team.
Speaker 6 (41:03):
They're not even on the same level as these other
teams that are still playing.
Speaker 7 (41:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (41:07):
You know, it's funny though, because I have friends who
are way into you know, international soccer and Premier League
and stuff like that, and they get up early on
the weekends and go and watch, you know, and drink
their faces off before eleven am. Watching their respective teams,
and I get the sense it reminds me of pirate
fans when they're there's a sect of diehard pirate fans,
(41:27):
no matter how bad they are, they're all in on
the Pirates all year long. And because we've had so
much futility for so long, there's a big group of
pirate fans who don't get involved unless there's a little
band wagon situation and things are going good and they
jump on board. And then those pirate fans that suffer,
they kind of hate the band wagoners. They hate the
people that come and fill out the parking instead of
(41:49):
sixteen thousand and their thirty, and there's like a little
level of resentment they have for them. And I kind
of feel like that's how the Premier League people feel
about everybody that jumps on board for the World Cup.
Speaker 7 (42:00):
They're like annoyed that.
Speaker 2 (42:02):
People are jumping on board and liking the thing that
they're passionate about. And it's almost like the hipsters who
are like I liked Arcade Fire before they were big,
you know, like, don't you want people to be attracted
to your sport?
Speaker 4 (42:18):
Right?
Speaker 6 (42:18):
The pleae like my sport people are the worst because
they plead to please like my sport.
Speaker 4 (42:23):
They'll say, oh, well, World Cups on, World Cups.
Speaker 6 (42:25):
On, And then when you talk about it, they're like, oh,
you don't know anything, like you're a casual.
Speaker 4 (42:30):
Like, okay, which one do you want?
Speaker 7 (42:31):
Man, I don't listen.
Speaker 6 (42:33):
If you want to yell at me and tell me
I'm a casual and up I am? And yeah am
I counting down that we're eight Sundays away from the NFL.
Yeah I am. And the NFL is the NFL mean
like ten million times more to this country than soccer?
Speaker 4 (42:46):
Ever?
Speaker 6 (42:46):
Will? Yes, it will? So you can, like I'm giving
you some attention right now, you know, take it.
Speaker 3 (42:52):
Enjoy it, like, enjoy.
Speaker 4 (42:53):
The fact that the eyes of America are on your sport.
Speaker 6 (42:56):
And don't embarrass us by having guys run out of
the goal and losing four one to Belgium.
Speaker 2 (43:01):
Sunday night football averages twenty three and a half million viewers.
Speaker 6 (43:06):
M h.
Speaker 2 (43:07):
So that's like half of what they got, less than
half of what they got for that USA Belgium game. Yeah,
and that's just an average. That's crappy Sunday night games
if you go across the whole weekend. Yeah, the viewership
for American football is just insane, and I think we're
going a little crazy trying to do the opposite and
get the international crowd to pay attention to the NFL,
(43:30):
because there's absolutely no reason the Steelers should be playing
in France this year.
Speaker 12 (43:36):
Agreed.
Speaker 6 (43:36):
I hate it so so much. I get it. It's like,
you know, Roder Goodell's job is to make money for
the owners where they all I mean, the Seahawks just
went for nine billion dollars.
Speaker 4 (43:47):
Yeah, I don't care.
Speaker 6 (43:49):
I don't care if someone in europeanks the NFL.
Speaker 7 (43:51):
It changes zero for me, like.
Speaker 6 (43:54):
Just my day to day life. So yeah, I think,
and you know, it was where we're going. We're going
to a point where there's gonna be sixteen international games,
so every single team will have to play an international
game every single year.
Speaker 4 (44:04):
And they're gonna probably do a Super.
Speaker 6 (44:06):
Bowl in London, and I'm gonna be so so.
Speaker 4 (44:08):
Upset and we just let that happen.
Speaker 2 (44:10):
I agree with you on all of that. All right, quickly,
who do you like? Sunday, Argentina or Spain.
Speaker 6 (44:17):
I'm a messy guy.
Speaker 4 (44:18):
I actually think it's been.
Speaker 6 (44:19):
Really fun rooting for MESSI because I get it like
I like the the lebron sexuals out there, who all
they do is root for Lebron no matter what team
he's on. I've always been like, that's kind of weird,
and now I understand. It's like so fun because I'm
just rooting for Messy. I'm not rooting for Argentina.
Speaker 4 (44:37):
