Speaker 1 (00:17):
I was talking to the mayor Sean Casey today. He's
going to be a regular on the show in the
weeks to come through baseball season. Nobody better to talk
baseball with than the mayor, and we were just chatting.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
He brought up a great idea.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
He said, the Pirates should pull in the fences in
left and left center because you got Connor Griffin for
nine years.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
He's a power hitter.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
Give the people what they want, which is to see
Connor Griffin hit more home runs. I think it's a
great idea. For one thing, four to ten to left
center is absurd. That's death valley. Here's an added advantage
if Reynolds is still in field, give him what's ground
to cover because he's become a butcher out there. But yeah, again,
(01:06):
give the people what they want. If you move the
fence in to a reasonable distance. I don't even know
what that is, like three seventy I don't know. Griffin
would hit ten to fifty more home runs per year,
maybe more than that, and that's what the people want
(01:28):
to see and it gets the most out of him.
So case come up with a real good idea. You
can tell it's not selfish because if he was making
a call to benefit himself and he don't play no more.
But in his day, he would have wanted the base
pass to be cut the seventy feet because couldn't really run.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Got thrownotts seven to three.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Once Jim Leland Steeles signed for Case, what he was
on the Tigers was Case, if you see me jump
up in there and never come down, you can steal.
So that's what Case suggested. It's what I would do. Okay,
I'm looking at for example, minute made ballpark in Houston,
(02:14):
Dalkin Park.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Now it's called dyk and whatever. Who cares.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
It's four to ten to left center at PNC Park.
It's three sixty two to left center in Houston. Yeah,
let's let's bring them in.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
You can.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
You can position it as we're giving the greatest ballpark
in MLB a makeover.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
We're gonna get the fans.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
You the fan, We're gonna get you closer, more bombs,
more runs, more action.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
I think it's the way to go with this president.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Well, teams do that all the time in MLB, moving
back if they got pitching, move it uh in if
they got hitters, and yeah, maybe the pirate pitchers weren't like,
that's too bad.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Connor Griffin's the guy.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
Now you do stuff for Connor Griffin because he's here
for the long term at Forbes Field, And boy I
sounded old, but I wasn't there when this happened. They
got Hank Greenberg, who had been the American League home
run king.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
He was at the end of his career.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
They got him from Detroit, so they moved the bullpens,
which had been along the file lines, to left field.
They put him in front of the wall, in front
of the scoreboard, and it got called Greenberg Gardens because
just shortened a very deep left and the left center
for Hank Greenberg. Well, the beneficiary was Ralph Kiner. It
(03:40):
eventually got called Kinner's Corner, and Kinner led the league
in home run seven straight years, and people paid to
see him. People want to see Connor Griffin hit home runs,
not Brian Reynolds stumble around like a dope in a
left center field death valley.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
That's just too big. So good stuff. By case you're
thousand any or all of that.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Eight three three four one two WXDX, We've been talking
about a whole bunch of stuff. Colin Coward saying the
Steelers are more like the New York Jets all the
time because of their weight. For Rogers, we talked about
Evgeni Malkins saying he would play for another team but
would prefer to stay in Pittsburgh.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
I wouldn't bring him back. I won't be outraged if
they do.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
And the more and more I read the tea leaves,
I would bet he does come back for one more
season because that's what Sid's gonna want, That's what the
new owner's gonna want, and uh, that's what the fans wants.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
And I would do it with a caveat.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
For Sid that if we're not good and Malkin being
bad as a part of that, you can't be mad
about us not being good. You can if your agent
shoot his mouth about how Sidney Crosby deserves to be
in the playoffs because Sid wants to play with malcol
and Latang. I don't know, maybe they all quit together,
I don't know. I will say this, if you have
(05:07):
Malkol and a Tang on the team, it's hard for
Sid to even consider leaving, let alone leave. Not that
I think he would, but I think their presence guarantees
his presence, and I had one guy, a hockey inside
who really thinks Malcolm should be out, saying he can
see the wisdom of seeing it out because it guarantees
Sid plays in his entire career. Here I was talking
(05:29):
about Ben Kindall, who I love more every day, saying
that that last shift falling on the puck, icing it
losing the draw Flyers went in overtime made him sick
to his stomach and he'll do everything possible to never
let it happen again. That's accountability, though, that's responsibility.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
That's a future captain talking.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
And we've talked about the Pirates losing five games in
a row. Schemes couldn't break the losing streak yesterday. Where
do they go from here? I'm going to see guns
and Roses next week. Won't be here Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
going to Fort Lauderdale. If the Penguins had won this series,
I'm not sure what I would have done. But now
I'm going to see guns and Roses in Fort Lauderdale,
(06:14):
probably stopped by the elbow room. And I got reminded
of that because I said, where do the Pirates go
from here? As in Wana o En go ow whan
oinenkow whan oinko now uh oh, one more penguin thing.
Dan Muse is a finalist for NHL Coach of the
Year and should be absolutely should be. What do you
(06:36):
think of cases idea pulling the fences in? I think
it's so obvious A three three four one two WSDX.
I watch way too much TV, although I do watch
from the treadmill. That's got to be good, right, And
I'm watching the Hulk Hogan documentary on Netflix. There's nothing
(06:57):
really revelatory. Nothing I didn't know. But and then again,
I wouldn't because I was a wrestling insider for eight
years work for WCW, really an insider longer than that.
But my tenor of employment with World Championship Wrestling was
nineteen ninety three through two thousand and Hulk was there
just about the whole time. I got there, just before
he did. I saw the nWo invasion Hogan's heel turn,
(07:20):
which was the single greatest angle in wrestling history. So yeah,
I was there and I saw it. And Hulk is
the biggest wrestling star ever made the business mainstream when
he did the Red and Yellow superhero gimmick took it
out of the smoke field old timey arenas and made
it fit for families. And there are some that you
(07:43):
could argue were bigger stars or in the class. And
Steve Austin was in the class. The Rock was in
the class. But what they got they built on top
of Hulk's foundation. That's not an insult, that's just a fact.
I couldn't think higher of Steve who I know and
the Rock either. Where the Rock succeeded where Hogan didn't.
(08:06):
Hogan tried movies, wasn't good. The Rock has been one
of America's biggest action stars for what like two decades now,
and Hogan energized the biggest angle ever. Like I said,
the Heel Turn and the NW Invasion, I lived it.
Hawk was on the show a few times. Like I said,
I worked with him for the best part of eight years.
(08:27):
I liked Tulk and I miss him. It's a good watch.
That documentary, Also Dead, was on HBO the last couple
of days, the whole run of the series on one
of the channels beginning to end, and then the movie
set ten years later. That was excellent, A fantastic period
piece with great sets.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
HBO.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Timothy Olephant what was the guy's name that played out
swearing Ian McShane. Just so many great actors and great
performances in Deadwood, and HBO's had so much great original stuff.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
I did all the networks in that regard by far
I did with with dead with Netflix has done since
Netflix came on the scene with stuff like that. Netflix
kind of does quickie stuff and the whole thing. It's interesting,
but it comes off as kind of quickie stuff. Well, no,
it comes off as kind of wrestling stuff is how
it comes off. But you look at what are the
best HBO series ever in no particular order, obviously Sopranos, Oz, Deadwood,
(09:36):
I like Righteous Gemstones. There's just so many series I've
watched in HBO that I just can't get enough of.
A few I've rewatched outside HBO. I mean I really
liked what was the one with Ola.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Fhont and Walton Goggins. Oh god, oh god, how can
I not remember?
Speaker 4 (09:56):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (09:56):
And of course you know, Breaking Bad leading into Justified?
Was Goggins an olifant Breaking Bad leading into Better? Call?
Saul On? Was that AMC? I think so?
Speaker 1 (10:10):
But yeah, I just I'm old, I'm tired. I'm still fat,
not ass fat, and I just love to watch TV,
and honestly, I usually do it when I'm on the treadmill,
so I guess that's a good thing.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
Let's go now to Chris. Chris, you're on with double.
Speaker 5 (10:27):
M hey Mark. I was just wondering do you have
any inside information on whether Malcoln had a shoulder injury
here at the end of the season and that's the
reason he couldn't seem to take.
Speaker 6 (10:40):
Any slap shots.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Yeah, he's not been taking that shot dating back before
the playoffs, so I don't know. I think everybody's banged
up at this time of year. That does not influence
my opinion that he shouldn't be on PP one next
year if he does return.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
Let's go to Justin. Justin, you're on with double.
Speaker 7 (10:57):
M hey Mark, longtime fan, first terrific.
Speaker 6 (11:02):
I wanted to ask you about you've mentioned moving the
fences in baseball.
Speaker 8 (11:06):
Is there like a role that dictates the minimum or
the No.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
I don't know about a minimum or maximum, but I
do know four to ten in left center field at
PC Park is egregious.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
It's depth valley, It's where home runs go to die.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
Moving in more seats closer seats, more home runs for Griffin.
To me, it's something that even a brainless idiot could decide,
and it might have to Actually shouldn't say that Nutting.
That's the kind of thing Nutting would dig. That's something
he can sell, anything he can sell. Nutting is a
great businessman. He's really a great baseball owner. Just doesn't
(11:40):
care to win. And this year, because he did a little,
he got you guys to think he did a lot,
and right now we're seeing that he didn't do enough.
All right, eight three three four to one two WSDX.
By the way, another piece of news I gotta rehash
Steelers decline the fifth year option Broadery Jones because the
(12:01):
next thing. But they've also put them in a position
to fail constantly for the sake of Dan Moore Junior
one oh five nine.
Speaker 9 (12:09):
Now the super genius Mark Madden.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
No, I just said, I don't know what I said.
I don't know what you said.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
M Yeah, the exit one nine, As we do when
the opportunity presents. We're watching UH soccer in the studio,
UH Premier League. Right now it's leads three Burnley nil
in the sixty first minute, Burnley already having clinched relegation
(12:38):
for next year, Leeds trying to avoid and looks like
they're pretty safe.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Keep in mind Leads three Burnley nil.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
Is TJ McConnell this Parish three jj Watt nil. Because
TJ is a part owner of Leeds and JJ Watt's
a part owner of Burnley. You had another example of
JAJ Watt failing in a tight situation. I find the
situation with Connor McDavid in Edmonton just fascinating. I know
(13:08):
the Penguins aren't going to get him, then again, what
if they could?
Speaker 2 (13:12):
No, they can't, but what if they could?
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Because they got eliminated in the first round last night
after losing in each of the last two Stanley Cup finals.
What's going to happen with McDavid moving forward? Will he
want out? Here's Mike Johnson on the NHL Network talking
about that situation, and boy, what's going to happen?
Speaker 10 (13:32):
We know that he sent it to year contract as
a bit at a significant discount financially to himself, like
five six seven million dollars per year to give his
team the best chance to build a team around him.
Speaker 9 (13:43):
That starts next year.
Speaker 10 (13:44):
That two year window starts next year, and he will
want to make sure that that team is going to
be good enough to give him a chance to win
a Stanley Cup starting next year. And I think the
way they played this year would tell you that there
needs to be some change that team.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
Well, the most significant change would be if McDavid would
figure out a way to move on, if he would
finagle that.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
And I don't know, I can't get a read for that.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
McDavid said it the to the media last night that
it was a mediocre team.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
Why wouldn't they play mediocre?
Speaker 1 (14:19):
Didn't exactly pile the blame on himself, but didn't exactly
point fingers either, except at the entirety of the roster.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
Hey, if the Oilers aren't a.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
Clear cut contender for the Stanley Cup next year, I
mean like a juggernaut by the trade deadline, that that's
in first place in not just the division but the
conference and really looks the part. If the Oilers ain't that,
maybe McDavid does one on as early as next season's
trade deadline, like Edzo suggested as possible. McDavid is twenty nine.
(14:52):
Edmonton's windows seems to be It's not closed, but it's
kind of sliding shut their goaltending is a mess.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
I can't believe Jari didn't help lol.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
But whenever a star player wants out to try to
ring chase somewhere else up, I kind of roll my
eyes because McDavid is not blameless when it comes to
Emma to not winning stars who want to move because
someplace else gives him a shot to win. I just,
(15:24):
I just it doesn't sit well with me because a
real star wins where he is, like Sid, like Mario,
and McDavid disappears in elimination games like zero points last
night and the Ducks knocked him out.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
I know he's playing harpet f that.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
If McDavid wants out at some point, yo, he was
out there too in a prominent role.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
McDavid lost too.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
And maybe if you look at the money and the
staff and the star Ara and the Captain C, maybe
McDavid actually lost more.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
Let's go to Matt and Murraysville. Matt, you're own with double.
Speaker 7 (16:09):
M and Mark, I agree with you about the whole
Malt impossibility with Philadelphia, But I saw rumors and I
don't know if you saw, And what's your thoughts on this?
Were about Malkin going to Washington if a Bekin comes
back from No, that.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
Was just the b team that they made that up.
Like they make so much stuff up. There's no rumor
about that the Philadelphia thing. Don't forget. I'm actually around
hockey people.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
Uh, Like, why would Washington who missed the playoffs and
Ovie his play slipped even if he still didn't score
thirty three goals. They don't need to play kate him.
They don't need to play the buddy buddy game. Why
would Washington bring in a forty year old? They got
rid of John Carlson, who's arguably their best defenseman, well
certainly was the best defenseman of the past, like like
(16:59):
ten twelve years. They traded him because they're trying to
move forward. Why would they sign a forty year old?
Speaker 7 (17:07):
I mean, it didn't make sense to me that they
were talking about.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
They were talking about that because they don't know what
they're talking about, and they make stuff up about hockey.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
Especially thank you for the call. Uh, let's go to
Dave and the Rocks. Dave, what up?
Speaker 8 (17:22):
Good day, sir?
Speaker 2 (17:22):
I said, good day?
Speaker 9 (17:25):
Hey?
Speaker 8 (17:25):
Back when talk it was on the Vancouver Canucks before
he took that Flyer's coaching job. He had the opportunity
to come here. Do you think that if MWS would
have went elsewhere and Talk it came to the Penguins.
Speaker 2 (17:33):
I don't think Talk. I don't think when did Talk
have the opportunity to come here?
Speaker 11 (17:38):
Oh no, he didn't.
Speaker 8 (17:39):
We had a coaching vacancy and he didn't.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
That's I mean, Talk could have come here this year.
Is that what you're saying, because because that's when the
job opened up. Yeah, I mean, was he considered? I
don't know, but I think that the Penguins wanted a
more developmental coach, and even though Talk's done a great
job in that regard in Philadelphia with their young talent,
and I don't think they saw that in him the
(18:02):
way they saw it in Dan Muse. So while I
would have loved to have had talket here and he's
done a tremendous job in Philadelphia, I understand perfectly the
decision making.
Speaker 8 (18:13):
And real quick, what's the difference between Montreal and Buffalo.
They're seemed to be young, un haralded, really leading their
ceieries obviously against two great contenders. That makes them different
than than us.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
I think they're heralded, and I think what the difference
between them and us is they have young stars. The
Penguins have old stars. The Canadians and Sabers have young stars.
I mean, you look at Cole Kawfield with Montreal, the
Hudson Kid on defense. You look at all those defensemen
on Buffalo. Tate Thompson, I mean, he's not young, but
(18:44):
he's not yet old either. I don't believe he's yet thirty.
That's the difference. The reason that the Penguins lost to
the Flyers is because the Flyers had the lakes pure
and simple.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
The Flyers had the lake.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
With youth comes energy, and with youth came a four
games to two series win. Yet Tage Thompson twenty eight
years old in his prime. Thank you for the call up. Next,
we're going to talk to Noah Hyles of the Post Gazette,
But right now I want to talk about bet Parks,
because it's better to bet with bet Parks. You make

Speaker 12 (20:43):
Rich, listen all day for your chance and some extra

Speaker 1 (20:51):
X from the one oh five nine the Ex Weather Center.
This report is sponsored by Delta and now the super
Genie Mark Madden.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
No, Mark, Hi, buddy, how you doing?
Speaker 11 (21:05):
What?
Speaker 2 (21:05):
If they were assless chaps? Would that help it all?
Speaker 5 (21:07):
If they was the.
Speaker 9 (21:08):
Ex at one nine.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
Doublem on the X joining me now from the Post
Gazette with lots to talk about, he is calingist Noah Hailes. No,
why are the Pirates not collapsing but certainly backsliding, certainly
not performing up to expectations during this five game losing streak.
Speaker 5 (21:29):
I think it starts and ends with the pitching mark.
I mean, this is the first time we've seen the
starting rotation not look anything, you know, shy of stellar.
Speaker 4 (21:39):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (21:39):
They they did not have a good series against the
Saint Louis Cardinals. And when you put more pressure on
this bullpen, you're flirting with danger. And I would argue
the bullpen was probably just as big of a problem,
if not more, throughout this losing skid. But the starting
rotation hasn't done its job either. No one's truly looked
really good. As from the bull pen game on Monday.
(22:01):
But I mean the bullpen ends up blowing that one
as well, So pitching is the answer, right there.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
I agree with that mostly.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
It felt ominous too when Schemes lost yesterday to put
the losing streak in five. He's the guy that's supposed
to break up a losing streak. And if that's unfair
to expect that every time, well maybe he's in an
unfair position given the makeup of the team.
Speaker 5 (22:25):
Yeah, I mean that's what your cy young ace is
supposed to do that. They called them the stopper for
a reason, right, But to be fair, there are more
than one. There's more than one guy that you can
depend on for that type of thing in this starting rotation.
I mean, they should feel good with Mitch Keller on
the mount today. He's ended plenty of losing streaks for
this team throughout his time in Pittsburgh. So that's the
(22:48):
benefit of having your starting rotation be your team's greatest strength,
even when it's not pitching.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
Well, what do they still need if they could strengthen
at any one spot?
Speaker 2 (22:57):
Noah, what what would you do?
Speaker 8 (23:00):
I would add depth to the bullpen.
Speaker 5 (23:03):
I mean, I'm not going to put a lot of
blame on guys who've struggled this week, like Dennis Santana
and Isaac Mattson, because they've been really good for years now,
but they need middle relief. And you can tell by
their transactions they've been pulling guys up and sending them down,
guys like Hunter, Barco Wilberd Hotel. They just activated uh
(23:23):
Davinski the other day. I mean, they're they're struggling to
find someone who can bridge that gap between the starters
and the back end of the bullpen there and and
that's what they really need right now.
Speaker 8 (23:36):
That's what they're missing.
Speaker 5 (23:37):
I mean the offense. I know certain guys are kind
of cold right now, and the defense has been inconsistent,
but the reality is those things have been good enough
to win you ball games. The area where they're hurt
the most throughout the entire month of April, in my opinion,
is middle relief. They need to add more depths there.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
Okay, that's that's true, But what do you do with
Ozuna and Davis. I think Ozuna might just be a
bet investment. And Davis, I mean, I know he's a
good catcher, but with abs that means less. There's no
such thing as framing pitches, and he just can't hit well.
Speaker 5 (24:10):
I'll say Davis is worth keeping around strictly because he
can call a good game and he gets the most
out of the pitching staff, and by comparison, he is
way more valuable than anyone else they had that can
play that position. Go ahead and look at what the
pitcher's performances look like when Joey Bart catches compared to his.
So that's why you had to keep Davis around. Although
I would agree that he's probably not a starting catcher.
(24:33):
I think they have a surplus of number two catchers
and they got to find a number one somewhere else.
As far as Ozuna, I agree. I mean I wasn't
a fan of that signing when it happened. I didn't
see how he would fit.
Speaker 9 (24:44):
It struck me.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
It struck me though, as my god, it's late, we
better sign somebody.
Speaker 6 (24:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (24:49):
I think they had a little bit more money to spend,
and he was the best guy available, But I mean,
the fit never really made sense to me unless he
would be one of their better power hitters and marks
in one of the worst players in baseball. There's no
sugarcoating it now. There's still time to turn things around.
It looked like there was a little bit of a
turnaround going the last time this team is playing in
its own.
Speaker 8 (25:08):
Ballpark, but he cooled off.
Speaker 5 (25:10):
I mean, he's metrically maybe the worst edition player in
all of the sport right now. You can't have that
from a guy you're batting in the middle third of
your lineup. You can't have that for a guy that's
getting paid twelve million dollars. So yeah, it's just been
a disaster. And I don't know how much longer you
give this guy to figure it out, just because I mean,
(25:31):
I know you paid him a lot of money, but
you're also trying to win here, and he's hurting that cause.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
Well, given that they are trying to win and made
some moves in that direction, should they make another move now,
should they make a trade, should they sacrifice a bit
of future? What are their options in that regard.
Speaker 5 (25:46):
I don't think they're gonna make any drastic moves this early,
but yeah, I think it's time for an external edition.
That could be a waiver claim, that could just be,
you know, a small move. You're looking past years and
early in the season, I mean in twenty twenty four.
They Acquiredoe Bart in early April, and he gave that
team a spark. I mean they've they've made other moves
similar to that. I think they could just use something
(26:08):
like that. It doesn't have to be an amazing, overwhelming
player that they go get, but I think they could
use a spark. I think Connor Griffin provided a spark
when he first came up, and they need another spark.
They need just another shot in the arm here to
kind of add a little bit of depth because they're
where their sin right now is very easy to see
(26:30):
and it's hurting them a lot.
Speaker 1 (26:31):
We're talking to Post because that call him this Noah
Hiles here on one oh five ninety x uh, Noah,
you you could really dfao Zoon if they did that.
You know, if this continues, I wouldn't fault them for that.
You obviously can't dfa Brian Reynolds, but he seems a
big problem, big ticket, can't field and no home runs
in nineteen games.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
I was shocked to realize that.
Speaker 5 (26:55):
Yeah, yeah, I mean it's I don't know what you
do with Reynolds because I agree. I mean, if he's
I mean, he's a better DH option than Ozuna, but
that's not through merit necessarily by more than default. He's
not good on the basis.
Speaker 8 (27:10):
He's really not good in the field.
Speaker 5 (27:12):
And uh, I mean, if he's not providing a lot
of power, then what is he doing. I don't know
why you keep batting him. Third, he's got to get going.
He's got to get going. A lot of these moves
they made in the offseason were to get more out
of Brian Reynolds. I've talked with a whole bunch of
people in the ORG and they say, I mean, he's
a guy who needs lineup protection. He can't really be
someone who carries the team offensively throughout an entire season.
(27:36):
He can do it for a month, but he can't
do it for a whole season. But they just need
him to be better than what he has been, especially
if he's not gonna help them in other areas. They
need him to hit with a little bit more pop.
And yeah, it hasn't it hasn't been visible.
Speaker 8 (27:49):
So I don't know what you do with them.
Speaker 5 (27:50):
I mean, I think you know, I have an idea
what you do with them next offseason, But right now
they're stuck with them, and they need him to be better.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
What's wrong with them?
Speaker 1 (27:58):
I mean I watch him play, he looks disengaged. I
don't think he's like like dogging or tanking, But there's
just something that should be there that we've seen prior
that isn't.
Speaker 8 (28:10):
No.
Speaker 5 (28:10):
I agree, and I don't have the answer to that.
I mean I candidly I saw that from them all last.
Speaker 2 (28:16):
Year too, not like this, not quite like this.
Speaker 5 (28:20):
Yeah, yeah, I could agree with that, and you would
think that he would be more locked in this year considering,
you know, everything that happened. I mean, this is the
best team he's ever played on in the major leagues.
So I don't know. I don't know that he's got
to figure it out. I mean, they're paying him. He's
their highest paid position player on the team, He's one
of their most veteran players on the team. They they
(28:41):
can't be dealing with this right now.
Speaker 1 (28:42):
It's very early in the season, just thirty two games
in out of one hundred and sixty two. That said,
this series against Cincinnati at home feels in some way
to be important for May anyway, since he and first
Pirates in the last still a very closeable gap. I
think they really need just for the car and for
the fans too, to win two out of three at least.
Speaker 5 (29:03):
I totally agree. I totally agree. I mean, you've already
lost the home stand, but if you can leave before you,
you know, head out to the West Coast having one
two of your last three against the first place team,
you're back over five hundred. That's that's good. You just
need to keep that momentum rolling and listen, Like, good
teams lose five games in a row, it happens, right,
(29:27):
but the good teams find a way to keep it
at like a number like four or five, rather than
letting it continue to snowball. They have bad weeks, not
bad months, not bad entire home stands, not bad.
Speaker 8 (29:41):
Entire road trips.
Speaker 5 (29:42):
And that's that's where the Pirates really need to figure
out what they are right now, because if you're a
good team, you come out on Friday night like tonight,
and you find a way to win, and if they
can win a couple of games, everything will be a
little bit easier. As far as tension here, you don't
want to let this continue to snowball and build up,
because you know you had a lot of good momentum going.
It'd be a shame if you wasted it.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
Sean Casey came up with an idea. I was chatting
with him this morning. I want to run up by you.
He thinks they should move in the left center field
fence for the sake of Connor Griffin being here the
next nine years and to get as much as you
can out of him, to give the fans what they want.
It doesn't sound that absurd to me that that left
field ALI four ten is ridiculously deep and that's gonna
(30:27):
cost him a bunch of home runs. Plus you could
present it Noah, as we're bringing the fans closer to
the action.
Speaker 2 (30:33):
It sounds good to me.
Speaker 5 (30:35):
I don't hate the idea, but at the end of
the day, are you going to cater more than one
player or what your organization does that?
Speaker 1 (30:43):
Yeah, if he's your star player for nine years, then yes,
the nine year thing is what does it for me?
Speaker 5 (30:50):
Oh? I don't disagree, but I mean there's gonna be
plenty of great pitching when throughout that whole nine year
you know, run that he's here, guys that are gonna
be up well after.
Speaker 2 (30:59):
If it's that's really great, that should be no problem.
Speaker 5 (31:02):
Well, I mean, yeah, I don't know. I think you're
better off, especially with Griffin speed balls into that gap.
Speaker 8 (31:08):
I mean he'll lead the league in triples then.
Speaker 5 (31:10):
And I mean there's plenty of other short areas. We've
seen his ability to hit the ball to right center,
right field, and even down the line and left. I mean,
I personally don't like it, because again, I still think
this organization's greatest strength is pitching development and building your ballpark.
In a way to not cater to that I don't
think makes sense. But I don't hate the idea if
(31:31):
you're looking to add offense, because I mean, I wouldn't
be shocked if that's something that turns guys away in
addition to the other things that have turned them away
and free agency is this isn't necessarily hitter's ballpark, especially
if you're a right handed.
Speaker 1 (31:43):
Not for right handed for sure. No, I want to
just talk a bit of Penguins. In the time we
have left, would you bring them allkin back? And what
do you think they will do? I won't be outraged
if they do, and I'm starting to sense more and
more that they will.
Speaker 5 (31:57):
Yeah, I'm coming with you. I say it's going to happen.
I personally probably wouldn't. I just think it's time to
get it's time to get younger.
Speaker 8 (32:06):
It is what it is.
Speaker 5 (32:07):
Uh. There it looked like I mean, as a storyteller,
this felt like a very nice final hurrah for that
trio that's given the fans so much. Malcolm proved that
he's still capable of playing. Uh but I mean, you
always want to be a year early rather than a
year late.
Speaker 8 (32:25):
With these decisions, and they've they're probably.
Speaker 1 (32:28):
Already a couple of years late though. I mean, there's
no value to trading of the tang. You couldn't and
in Malken you know, you know, I mean, Malcolm was
pretty good this past year. People are overestimating the point
total though it's the it's the goals. I'm looking at
nineteen goals for top six who played PP one.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
That ain't that good.
Speaker 5 (32:47):
No, Yeah, I think I would move on from him.
I don't expect them to. I mean, if you could,
if you can find something of better value for what
you would pay him, and if that players younger, then
you use that money for that asset rather than something
that's you know, nostalgia attached. And like I said, I
don't expect that to happen. I think he will be
(33:09):
back just going off with vibes and reading the room,
but who knows. I think they'd be better off probably
not making that move up.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
Why couldn't they score against Philly?
Speaker 1 (33:18):
It was really odd because they were third in the
league in goals during the regular season, and it really
and dramatically dried up.
Speaker 5 (33:26):
Yeah, I mean, I mean the first two games, I
think they got away from themselves, and then I thought
they did fine, and you know, the back half of
that series, and then in game six, I mean, lad
Air just played Vladar played incredible. So I mean that
whole series, I was sitting there waiting for, you know,
a goalie to steal one. And in game six, ironically,
(33:48):
both goalies kind.
Speaker 8 (33:49):
Of fit that.
Speaker 2 (33:50):
I tweeted that.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
I tweeted that at the end of regulation, both teams
are getting goalied.
Speaker 5 (33:56):
Yeah, and the Flyers guy played better And that's just
the reality of it.
Speaker 8 (34:00):
And so why you.
Speaker 5 (34:01):
Can't fall behind three games to none. But I mean,
they had really good they had really good scores in
the regular season. But when some of those guys just
do not show up, and I mean it's pretty easy
to figure out which one I'm talking about.
Speaker 8 (34:13):
That's what happens.
Speaker 2 (34:15):
No great stuff. Glad the Post Gazette survived.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
Glad your tenure there is ongoing as well, and we'll
talk again real soon.
Speaker 5 (34:21):
Absolutely, I'm glad to you, Mark, thanks for having me on.
Speaker 1 (34:24):
That's Noahiles Collins with the Post Gazette, a rising star
in Pittsburgh media. Right now, it's time to ask Mark anything,
and I do mean anything, and I prefer anything A
three three four one two wxdx, or you can leave
a talk back via the microphone icon at the iHeartMedia app.
At the top of the hour, we have Max Vieira
(34:44):
from the Pittsburgh river Hounds joining us first year pro
river Haunts at home Saturday night, seven pm against Phoenix.
And it's Toughy Shallenberger's birthday, the owner, so happy birthday,
Toughye and hopefully his team will get if Tim three points.
But we want your calls right now. Eight three three
four one d w XDX. Ask Mark anything.
Speaker 9 (35:08):
It's the Woody Show weekday mornings at six nine X.
Speaker 13 (35:12):
This Monday, Kenny Ross Masda you'll find great value on
new Mazda models.
Speaker 9 (35:18):
And now the super genius Mark Madden.
Speaker 5 (35:23):
Her how do.
Speaker 2 (35:24):
My solution is give me my cake and eat me too.
Speaker 9 (35:27):
At the X at one.
Speaker 2 (35:34):
Time to ask Mark anything?
Speaker 1 (35:36):
What this my people's natural gas, People's and the Sensitial
Utilities company. That's People's hyphengas dot Com.
Speaker 2 (35:45):
Let's go to Paul. Paul, you're all with Mark. Good
day to you, sir, I said, good day.
Speaker 6 (35:52):
Well, my question to you is if you had any
advice or pointers to give Art Rooney the second on
how to run a franchise and championships back to the
city of Pittsburgh.
Speaker 8 (36:03):
What would they be.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
I think that a broad based advice is a little presumption. Well,
first off, he wouldn't listen, But I'd tell him to
stop waiting for Aaron Rodgers and restore pride in the
logo and not be holding some washed up grandpa game manager.
That would be the first piece of advice I would
give Art.
Speaker 2 (36:25):
That sounds great, it really does. Thank you to come.
Speaker 1 (36:29):
Let's go to Patrick and Newcastle. Patrick herrowing double.
Speaker 8 (36:32):
M tave us one sixty six, Good.
Speaker 2 (36:35):
Day, I said, good day, hey, Mark.
Speaker 14 (36:38):
One of my favorite episodes of The Sopranos, It's the
closer of season two, features a stone song I really
liked called through and threw off the record Voodoo Lounge.
Just wanted to get your thoughts on that record or
if you liked it at all.
Speaker 1 (36:52):
For their latter day output, I thought it was very good.
I think the last truly great Stones album though with
Some Girls, which was White my reel house.
Speaker 2 (37:02):
Being in high school.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
I thought Tattoo You, which came up, was it the
next album or another album after that after Some Girls,
I forget, but Tattoo You was a polishing of outtakes
and updates to you know, songs that had been kept
off prior album. So but I thought Voodoo Launch for
the Stones latter day output was very good.
Speaker 2 (37:23):
Let's go to a talkback.
Speaker 15 (37:25):
Double m What are your thoughts on Boardwalk Empire.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
Oh, we talked about great HBO original series, yet Boardwalk Empire.
It's not at the very top of my list, but
it's really good, really good, really a lot of great characters,
a good period piece like like Deadwood, you know. And
every time I go to Atlantic City, I sometimes eat
a knife and fork which was depicted a Boardwalk Empire,
(37:52):
because it was there then and certainly the boardwalk was there.
So yeah, I was a big fan of Boardwalk Empire
bouschemy was unbelievable. Let's go to Avon Hootersville and Drone
with double M.
Speaker 3 (38:03):
Hey now, Mark, Hey, now we doing good. I think
both of both of us agreed that on the power
play that Malcolin might be the weakest link on the
power play.
Speaker 2 (38:13):
Well, for for a long time he was one of
the biggest strengths. But just not no more.
Speaker 4 (38:19):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (38:19):
My question is that I wondered a lot of times
when they change from the first unit to the second year,
Malkin still remains on the ice.
Speaker 2 (38:26):
Well, that's that's not that's not true.
Speaker 9 (38:29):
That's not true.
Speaker 1 (38:30):
No, sometimes he gets caught out there, but he's not
being left out for the entirety of the power play.
As for the coaching advice, nor is he freelancing. He
just can't get to the bench. Let's go to Jude
Jude Drone with double.
Speaker 13 (38:42):
M super g what I I agree with you. I
would not bring Malcolm back. But one thing I wanted
to ask about. I know, coming into this season, we
thought that they might trade one of Raquel or Russ.
Do you think they'll revisit that this offseason or likely
not to play.
Speaker 1 (39:00):
I think when it comes to Raquel, Rust and Carlson.
They will be available in trade, not actively shopped, like
they're not looking to dump them. I would suspect they'll
all stay and maybe one or more gets traded at
the deadline. And you can't play Kate Sid with every player.
You can't let him determine the roster. And I don't
(39:23):
think Sid ever goes to them and dictates terms Brov.
Speaker 2 (39:26):
I just think they try to divine what he wants.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
But I think the only deal breaker for him and
what he'd do if the deal got broken, I do
not know, but he wants Malkin and Latang their period.
Speaker 2 (39:37):
Let's go to a talkback.
Speaker 16 (39:39):
Mark, if you were in legal trouble and needed legal representation,
who would you rather have as representing him? Would you
rather have Saul from Better Call Saul, Matthew McConaughey from
the Lincoln Lawyer, Keanu Reeves from Devil's Advocate, or Tom
Cruise from a few good Men.
Speaker 1 (40:02):
I'm torn between Saul Goodman and Shandorovich, Shandorovitch and Fishman.
I will say saw Goodman, I don't know what he charged,
but it was more than twenty five percent.
Speaker 2 (40:15):
Then he get it.
Speaker 1 (40:16):
He always had that big bag of whatever sitting around.
Let's go to Gary, Gary, Askmark anything, Ah.
Speaker 2 (40:24):
Good afternoon, Mark.
Speaker 8 (40:25):
I have an idea for improving the shootouts. See what
you think. I think maybe if you should time it
forty five seconds once this year after he.
Speaker 11 (40:33):
Touches the puck.
Speaker 1 (40:35):
I think anything that could be done to hurry it
up and not have the guys just just swing outside
at a snail's pace. Yeah, leave it to the NHL.
They made three on three overtime mostly boring, and they
made the shootout boring.
Speaker 2 (40:47):
So yeah.
Speaker 1 (40:48):
Some people suggested having an opposition player at the blue line,
the far blue line, chase the guy when he touches
the puck.
Speaker 2 (40:55):
But that's two showbiz for me. I like your idea. Better.
Just go to Dan, Dan, you're all with Mark? Any Mark?
Speaker 8 (41:04):
Great to talking?
Speaker 17 (41:05):
Just a quick question. I don't know if I have
my icing mixed up? But the one that they called
on kindle, do I recall corrector that Gorky and Josh
gets up for both, like kind of questioning whether or
not that should have been icing.
Speaker 2 (41:17):
Or was that a clear kit? There was a love
I don't know what they heard.
Speaker 1 (41:22):
I was at Marinos in Greensburg and I couldn't hear,
but I that looked like icing to me for what
that's worth.
Speaker 15 (41:29):
And I just want to.
Speaker 17 (41:29):
Say josh and and Phil they should be national. Theyre
just they just just an unbelievable job.
Speaker 1 (41:34):
They do it. They do a great job. I want
to keep him here. I like I like Havin on
all the Penguin games. Thank you for the call. Uh,
let's go to Johnny Utah, Johnny Utah, ask Mark anything,
what I mean?
Speaker 2 (41:46):
What I mean?
Speaker 8 (41:48):
So I read the Calm today and one thing that stepped.
Speaker 6 (41:51):
Out to me.
Speaker 17 (41:51):
It wasn't anything about Mochan.
Speaker 8 (41:52):
It was about the attendance at u PPG and and one.
Speaker 14 (41:56):
Thing that I think, uh, it really stands out to
me when I go to a game, is it.
Speaker 11 (42:00):
A beers that damn near? You get two beers? It's
damn near the same place with three cases of beer?
Speaker 2 (42:04):
Okay, so don't so you don't have to buy beer
to go to a hockey game.
Speaker 14 (42:09):
Yeah, well that's why I want to trink beer walk
the sporting events. So ill could damn near get three kings?
Speaker 2 (42:13):
Well then don't go see you later. Don't go cheap
skate You're either cheaper an alcoholic. Maybe both. Uh, let's
go to Joe Joe ask Mark anything? What up mine?
Speaker 9 (42:28):
Hey?
Speaker 13 (42:28):
You mentioned you're going to see guns and.
Speaker 5 (42:30):
Roses and correct them playing to check anything else out
other than the elbow room.
Speaker 8 (42:34):
You're you gonna check anything else out?
Speaker 17 (42:35):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (42:35):
The elbow Room's further away than I thought from where
I'm staying, but I went a couple of trips ago,
so I guess i'll go again. No, the place I'm
staying Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood.
Speaker 2 (42:46):
It is so self contained. Every restaurant's great, the sports
bar is great, the gambling is great. That's where gn
R is playing.
Speaker 1 (42:52):
I'll mostly stay there, except I'll probably go to the
elbow room.
Speaker 2 (42:55):
Let's go to Alex.
Speaker 8 (42:58):
What up mine?
Speaker 4 (43:01):
So?
Speaker 15 (43:02):
I know you're talking a lot of penguins today, But
out of the UFAs and the RFAs, who would you
bring back without question? Who would you let walk without
even talking to him?
Speaker 2 (43:12):
With the Well, the RFAs are.
Speaker 1 (43:16):
Shilloffs and Chinakoff of any note, I'd bring both them
back obviously, and the Penguins have leverage given the nature
of RFA, and I would bring back Shay depending on affordability.
But I'd bring back Shay and uh maybe doer Doer
is a guy on debate depending on the price. He's
twenty six. But they got young kids who got to
(43:36):
play in the bottom six. Uh and uh, you know,
like I said, the Gino debates ongoing.
Speaker 2 (43:42):
Everybody else, I would just let walk. Let's go to
a talkback.
Speaker 17 (43:46):
Mark, what is your thoughts about Jason Robertson now that
the Dallas has been eliminated?
Speaker 11 (43:55):
Boy, but I love to have that guy.
Speaker 1 (43:58):
He's a great player. If you sign as an RFA,
had cost you four first round picks. If you trade
him had cost you a ton. And I don't think
Dallas wants to let him go anyway. So I know
that's a guy that Kyle covets, and you need to
get a guy like that.
Speaker 2 (44:10):
I don't think that's gonna happen. Let's go to a talkback.
Speaker 4 (44:15):
When the Penguins go out, do you root for another
team if they're in it? For me, it's always been Montreal,
and plus I think they should be favorites once the
NHL allows them to trade for Crosby for the second
round for some poutine in the seventh round.
Speaker 9 (44:28):
Traffic.
Speaker 1 (44:29):
Yeah, they're not going to trade Crosby ass and I
like Montreal as a mistress team, But honestly, I'm not
fanatic about any teams. But the Penguins in Liverpool that's it.
I mean, it would make me happy if Montreal one.
Then again, they're in Canada, but Canada doesn't think Montreal's Canada.
I think that's a Francophone territory, which it is. But
you get my drift, which is BS. But well, there's
(44:53):
a few guys you could talk to about that. Uh Okay.
Up next, we're gonna have River Hans midfield Max Vieira.
The River Hans are at home tomorrow night Tuffy Shallenberger's birthday,
seven pm against Phoenix at FNB Stadium. I'm joining me
now with the River Hans at home tomorrow night against Phoenix.
Speaker 2 (45:14):
Rising FC.
Speaker 1 (45:16):
Ball gets kicked off at seven pm at FNB Stadium.
It's a pleasure to welcome first year River Hans midfielder
Max Vieira. Max, you're from Chicago, played collegiately at Georgetown.
How did you come to play for the River Hans
this year? Your first in professional soccer?
Speaker 11 (45:35):
Hey, Mark, happy to be here. Yeah, good question.
Speaker 12 (45:37):
I actually was, like you said, just playing college soccer
at Georgetown, and we're just trying to find my next team.
Speaker 11 (45:42):
And funny enough, my coach is connected me.
Speaker 12 (45:44):
My college coaches connected me with Rob at the river Hounds,
and I went to the combine, obviously, tried my best.
I knew I knew quite a bit about Riverhounds already.
I knew they were a great club. They had just
one obviously, and I want I would love to be
part of a winning program. So once this opportunity was
presented to me, I was super intrigued, super motivated, and
then yeah, I went to the combine, gave it my best,
(46:05):
and luckily enough the coaches like what they saw, and
here I am.
Speaker 1 (46:09):
Now let's stick with the winning thing now, Because what's
that like for you as a rookie to join a
championship team. The river Hounds won the USL last year.
Is it tougher or easier to break in in your
first year?
Speaker 11 (46:23):
Yeah, great question.
Speaker 12 (46:24):
Obviously it's tough because the standards are extremely high. But
at the same time, it makes it even easier to
become a better footballer and better human being all around.
You're surrounded by winners, people with amazing mentality all over
the staff and on the team.
Speaker 11 (46:36):
So yeah, it's been great so far. The first two
months have been amazing.
Speaker 12 (46:39):
My teammates have been great and they just pushed me
to get better every single day and I think I've
been doing that just being around them.
Speaker 1 (46:45):
One thing it probably makes it easier for you in
that regard, Max is you played on a real good
program at Georgetown, reached the Elite eight last year, Big
East Champs last year, and in twenty four you were
offensive MVP of the twenty twenty four Big East Tournament.
Talk about your experience and how that translates to the
level of soccer you're playing now.
Speaker 12 (47:05):
Yeah, Georgetown men's soccer has been a huge part of
who I am today. The level there has been amazing,
the coaching staff and all the players. It was a
great program, super high standards as well, and I think
all in all, it's just prepared me for the next step.
And my next step was coming to the Riverhounds, and
I think it's translated amazingly.
Speaker 11 (47:21):
So thank you so much for the Georgetown family. Yeah,
it was great there.
Speaker 1 (47:26):
Now, you got your first pro goal in the game
this past Saturday against Greenville, a Cup win. Describe yourself
as a player, what are you looking to do out there?
And I know you sometimes play midfield, sometimes.
Speaker 2 (47:38):
Play wing back.
Speaker 12 (47:40):
Yeah, so back at Georgetown I played ten winger, more
of an attacking minder, and recently I got converted to
a right wing back to the Riverhounds, and I think
it's been it's been fantastic so far. I think I'm
more of an attacking minded defender. Obviously still working on
the defensive kinks like one v one defending and box defending,
but that'll sort of itself out as time goes on.
But yeah, I just like to get forward in the attack,
(48:01):
have some fun, connect with my teammates, get some good
balls in and like you saw on the weekend, get
near and a round goal and hopefully pick up some
easy goals like that and provide some assists to my forwards.
Speaker 1 (48:11):
Now, one thing worth noting is that in Rob Vincent's attack,
you have a lot of freedom, don't you, even as
a wing back.
Speaker 9 (48:20):
Correct.
Speaker 11 (48:20):
Yeah. Rob has given me the license to go.
Speaker 12 (48:22):
For whenever I feel it's right, and he's giving me
a lot of confidence on and off the field. But yeah,
he's prepared me a lot, and he gives me the
license to get forward, like I said, make those runs,
whip some balls in, get close to the goal and attack.
Speaker 11 (48:34):
Helping the attack whenever I can. However I can now you.
Speaker 1 (48:37):
Spoke a moment ago about getting the ball to the
guys who could score. Nobody on this team can score
better than Albertdikua back with the team after an absence
to play elsewhere.
Speaker 2 (48:47):
What's like being out there with him? And is that
the name of the game for you guys, to get
him the ball?
Speaker 12 (48:53):
Yeah, Albert Dekwell, I mean, as you all know, he's
a super experienced player, amazing striker. One thing guaranteed with
him his leadership and goals, and that's one of the biggest,
biggest things that you.
Speaker 11 (49:04):
Need on a winning team.
Speaker 12 (49:04):
So, like I said, just being around him and seeing
how professional he is and how he carries himself, it
motivates me, honestly. Just try to kind of replicate that
day to day routine and be as professional as him.
Speaker 11 (49:15):
Obviously I'm not there yet, but that's the goal one day.
Speaker 12 (49:18):
And yeah, obviously when you have a striker of that caliber,
the goal is to get the ball in the box
and make sure he's around at all times and give
him as many opportunities as you can, because he will score.
Speaker 1 (49:28):
Now, you guys are three to three and one in
the league, kind of an up and down start. I
think you've looked better than you've looked bad in those games.
You're out of the us Open Cup after a couple wins,
but you're still alive in the USL Cup.
Speaker 2 (49:39):
Where's the team at right now?
Speaker 11 (49:42):
Yeah, I think you mentioned it a little bit.
Speaker 12 (49:44):
I think we're just trying to find our consistency in
getting results. We've been playing well, our performances haven't really
matched our results, But we're just trying to find that
consistency and trying to secure those clean sheets more often
than not and continue on this upper trend that we're
currently on one more home game tomorrow. Obviously, we want
to finish that home game stretch with a win, and
(50:05):
I think will be in a good place.
Speaker 11 (50:06):
I think we're growing a lot as a team.
Speaker 12 (50:07):
Our chemistry's growing, the plan is becoming more and more clear,
and yeah, I think we'll get through.
Speaker 1 (50:12):
Yeah, Heaven's sakes five and zero in home matches in
all competitions this season. In the atmosphere at FNB Stadium,
It's really something, isn't it.
Speaker 11 (50:23):
Oh, yeah, fantastic.
Speaker 12 (50:24):
It's I haven't played in front of a crowd that electric,
I don't think my whole career. So for my first
professional team to be Pittsford Riverhounds and have that kind
of home crowd, it's been a blessing.
Speaker 1 (50:34):
Max, great stuff. Thank you for taking the time to
join me. We'll see at the stadium tomorrow.
Speaker 11 (50:39):
Thank you so much. Mark, see tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (50:41):
That's Max Vieira. Good young player for the river Hans.
They you know, the weird part about class trip a
level soccer, which is very good soccer, but there's always turnover.
Guys just move because that's the nature of that level.
But the River Hans they lost a few good guys,
most notably the goaltender Dick, but they got some real
good guys too, like this Viera kid, and I'm looking
(51:01):
forward to seeing more of him and more of the
Hans tomorrow night as we celebrate Tuffy Shallenberger's birthday at
FNB in No
