Speaker 1 (00:00):
BTS is here.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
Hello, BTS, Hey, I are Radio.
Speaker 3 (00:07):
We are here, you go, just.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
Another Friday in New York City.
Speaker 4 (00:11):
Welcome to New York.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
Guys, Big Apple. I know it is by the way. Today,
let me just keep you up to date with what's
going on BTS.
Speaker 4 (00:19):
Today is the day.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
It's BTS the Return a documentary on Netflix today.
Speaker 4 (00:24):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
Also, Jimmy Fallon last night. Did you have a good
time with Jimmy Fallon? Yeah, yeah, he's the best guy.
Speaker 5 (00:32):
It's been like six years that we've all been together
to Fallen, so it was.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Six years ago that you were with us here as well.
So welcome back BTS. It's good to have you back.
A world tour which kicks off in Korea and then
to Japan and then here in New York City in August. Yes, sir,
when you did your comeback live at Guangha Moon, the
(00:56):
first live performance back to get there again, were you
nervous excited? How did you feel that day for that
first performance back?
Speaker 4 (01:12):
Messiah?
Speaker 3 (01:13):
Want tell them take it with the money.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
Some of the devas man.
Speaker 6 (01:19):
Ok, we were super nervous down when we were before
we were performing on the stage and then it was
quite a while since we stood as a group in
front of the fans, So we just wanted to be perfect.
That's why we were super nervous.
Speaker 7 (01:34):
So how long did it take you guys to just
get right back into it now you're back together. Did
it take a while or did you just pick it
right up where you left off.
Speaker 4 (01:44):
I'm gonna do to even look through the money other
comments caught in the.
Speaker 8 (02:08):
Well.
Speaker 6 (02:08):
We were on our solo journey as an individual members,
so we did obviously have stronger ego from that solo journey,
but we gradually eased into it and then that's how
it came about with and then also meanwhile, that's all
the journey got us, you know, like grow into something
and then, uh, we do have a mature version of
(02:29):
music now because due to that growth, right, you've got.
Speaker 9 (02:34):
Tonight BTS the Return the documentary on Netflix, right, so
we get to see a little bit behind the scenes
of your life. Is that nerve wracking or exciting for
you to show the fans that those sides of you you.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
Feel bts of BTS we to men.
Speaker 6 (03:17):
So we just wanted to show the very honest side
of us. So what that's why we are very curious
how our fans wire going to receive it. I think
that's just one of the priority or one of the
thoughts that comes to my mind.
Speaker 10 (03:29):
And just one thing.
Speaker 6 (03:30):
I wasn't really fit when I was, you know, like
filming the documentary, So that's one of the point that
I get nervous.
Speaker 5 (03:40):
We weren't ready for the combat, you know, during the
process of the session. So but we all watched it
together like we did it kind of like a screening
before it comes out, and I think we basically all
liked it right the documentary, So it just it's just looks.
Speaker 4 (03:56):
So I just want to say sorry.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
You know, you know what's so fascinating about this experience,
how music brings the whole world together. For instance, once
you start singing that very first note, we're all on
the same page. And that's what music does. So your
song swim, I'm sure it's open to interpretation from anyone anywhere.
(04:21):
The way I look at it, I don't know. I
see it as, look, you're swimming in the ocean and
you just got to go where the tide takes you.
Is that partly what it's about.
Speaker 5 (04:30):
It's just funny that like some people like listen to
it like a just like a you know, like a
like a typical love song, like oh, I spend lifetime
watching you, like because of the lyrics of like batgirl
like something like that. But I think you got the
point because the last uh the actually the most This
is kind of behind the scene. I ever, I never
told but uh, the last important like debates was that.
(04:57):
So there were two lines for the like swim swim
water falling off your skin swim swim, I could spend
a lifetime watching you. So there were a candidate, which
is wonder where the waves are taking you? So between
I could spend lifetime watching you and wonder where the
waves are taking you. Everybody like have talked a lot,
(05:21):
but some people just told me, like I just loved
this song because of that single line, like which is
saying it's just singing like I could spend lifetime watching you.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
So we decided to go with that.
Speaker 5 (05:30):
But I actually loved the vibe that it has, like
wonder where the waves are taking you? So the song
is just about it could be also a love song
for somebody because it could be quite universal. And I
was thinking of the lives at the time that we
were not beside the fans because we were in the military.
(05:53):
We spent like five hundred and fifty days in the troupe,
and we were just like counting day, like okay, five
hundred forty nine, four hundred thirty seventy or something like that.
So I was like thinking of just like swimming with
the time and just one one one step, one step, pedal, pedal, pedal.
Speaker 4 (06:13):
Yeah, So the song is about that. Actually.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
Also, the ocean is just like life. We can't really
control it. The ocean will always be bigger than I.
Us can always control us, yes, sir, So you just
got to relax it, just go with the flow. Let's
get to know the guys, all right. You want to
play tm I.
Speaker 9 (06:27):
Oh yeah, what if you tell me something about another
member that maybe none of.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
Us knows JK Sugar anything the game killed your goal?
Game will tell me? So tell me that it's me.
Speaker 6 (06:50):
So one of our members bought a game machine like
Nintendo Nintendo Nintendo yeah, like console, yeah, and then but
couldn't start the game because of the payment failure.
Speaker 8 (07:01):
It's me, it's me, So, which which one was it?
Yea sugar, Sugar, Sugar, I don't survive daddy no more.
Speaker 7 (07:19):
Wait, anybody else need money?
Speaker 10 (07:20):
He's giving it away to about also how to fit
payment failure?
Speaker 6 (07:28):
We need to.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
I'm out of money.
Speaker 8 (07:37):
I'm out of money, talk about to think about it.
Speaker 6 (07:43):
I also had a payments give it to walk.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Well, that's the thing, you know, your fans are so
into watching you on your videos and watching you on
stage and watching you on TV, and so they rarely
ever get a chance to see what it's like behind
the scenes. And so do you prefer keeping that part
of your life hidden or are you getting more and
(08:12):
more comfortable with sharing it all, even if it's embarrassing.
Speaker 4 (08:16):
Sometimes we need pushman, and.
Speaker 10 (08:26):
You will never have that fantasy of us once the
documentary is out.
Speaker 7 (08:30):
Now, okay, okay, So you guys have lived together, you've
toured together. You all know each other very well at
this point. If you were on a tour bus and
the bus broke down in the middle of nowhere, who
is making it out alive from the wilderness?
Speaker 4 (08:50):
Oh okay, okay, sugar.
Speaker 11 (08:52):
Yeah, it's like a walking GPT, like he knows everything
the most, the most brilliant and learned of the group.
Speaker 6 (09:04):
Cause I even because I wish, but in that case
the tour of US broke down in the middle of Nore,
I don't think I would want to live.
Speaker 7 (09:19):
Who would not make it out of that scenario?
Speaker 4 (09:21):
Maybe me? Because I just got driver's license, so I
don't know how to park a car. So thank you.
In case you have the money, In case you got.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
A twenty dollar bill, then will not get you far.
Speaker 9 (09:35):
Did you just say you got a driver's license but
don't know how to park a car. Yes, So what
happens when you need to park?
Speaker 12 (09:44):
What do you do?
Speaker 4 (09:45):
Go to places volid only you'll need that money for that.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
Seriously, So the world tour, it's a massive, massive undertaking.
Are you for this life? I mean, this is a
lot of work.
Speaker 10 (10:13):
Get we're still in the middle of preparation.
Speaker 6 (10:25):
I feel like because we've been preparing Netflix, the show
and the tour together, we did have, you know, like
in our struggles and like what to do, Like like
there were these phases where we had to figure out something.
Speaker 10 (10:36):
But I feel like once we were on the stage,
we'll were able to pull it off.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Do you remember last time you were on a world
tour and all of the things that you missed from home?
Are you already preparing to adjust and be okay without
those things that make you so comfortable at home. And
what are those things? What do you miss the most
when you're on.
Speaker 12 (10:58):
The Roadman and Tom and then pend.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
Cot and that.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
Person, oh Beam Cohan.
Speaker 6 (11:33):
Come co is also, I mean we have any and started,
(12:00):
so I don't think we like we can't really think
about like what to miss in Korea. But so at
for now, top of our mind is just like focused
on like let's prepare it right and then just like
show everything on the stage. But if we just think
about in the past what we missed during the world
to where I think the food comes priority because we
(12:20):
all are Korean food lovers. But to think about it
like across the world these days, like k food is
just like a big hit, so you can just like
find it anywhere.
Speaker 10 (12:29):
I feel like, Yeah, New.
Speaker 5 (12:31):
York has some great creating restaurants. We just figure it out.
Yeah that things have changed. I'm so lucky that I'm
living in twenty twenty six as a Korean.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (12:44):
Have you guys tried American fast food?
Speaker 2 (12:48):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (12:48):
Do you have a favorite in and out?
Speaker 6 (12:51):
Oh?
Speaker 9 (12:57):
But you guys like to cook, right, because I know
when you live together working on the album. Like, did
some of you cook?
Speaker 4 (13:03):
Don't look at me. I don't know how to park
some of you do.
Speaker 10 (13:09):
What's your favorite thing to cook?
Speaker 2 (13:10):
When you do cook? Pasta?
Speaker 7 (13:12):
Okay, okay, nice cook?
Speaker 1 (13:20):
What about New York City? What are your thoughts about
New York City? The culture of the people, the awful food?
I mean, what what is it you do or do
not love about New York City?
Speaker 4 (13:28):
I prefer I prefer New York more than La. Why.
Speaker 5 (13:31):
Yeah, I'm from Seoul and it's like it's quite similar
with SO and SO. I could feel the staleia about
into a different version.
Speaker 7 (13:40):
Is there a place on this upcoming tour that you
guys have not been yet that you're excited to see?
Speaker 4 (13:45):
Spain?
Speaker 10 (13:50):
Well, Spain. I haven't been to Spain, so I really
want to visit you love it? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (13:54):
Great?
Speaker 9 (13:55):
Did you talk about good food?
Speaker 4 (13:56):
Have good food there from Alpaso?
Speaker 6 (14:00):
Yeah?
Speaker 10 (14:01):
Okay, okay.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
What's unique about al Paso is you're on the the
the United States Mexican border, so a lot of people
from Mexico come over to the US just to see
these great concerts there. El Paso is a small town,
but when it comes to a BTS concert.
Speaker 4 (14:17):
They're all coming in.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
It's going to be a great party.
Speaker 4 (14:19):
You're gonna like that.
Speaker 9 (14:20):
Now you're saying like, you guys are obviously so close.
So when you were apart, you guys obviously missed each
other a lot. Is there something specific you missed about
each other?
Speaker 4 (14:29):
Now you.
Speaker 6 (14:36):
Take it in money, not so, it just has been,
you know, such a while since we were together as
a group, like seven members all together, so like eating together,
walking together, just being on a car together.
Speaker 10 (14:56):
I missed everything.
Speaker 9 (14:57):
Wow, you Elvis, that's how you missed us.
Speaker 1 (15:01):
I missed them when I'm not around him. Let's get
back to the album. Uh, you worked with incredible global
talent with dip Loo and Ryan Tetter. These these guys
are incredible to work with. Did you learn a lot
from these guys?
Speaker 6 (15:20):
Was?
Speaker 1 (15:20):
Was it quite the learning experience to bring in these incredible,
incredible talented producers from around the world.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
Oh, talking of Sion come to That's company, the such
a session and to kat.
Speaker 4 (15:47):
The cool.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
Cool Mmm uh they got you don't, okay? Comunity transition.
Speaker 6 (16:18):
Since I did have an experience from my solo journey
working with the you know, like global producers, I thought
I was pretty familiar to it, but having to work
with these new producers or new collaborations with in a
team of BTS, it was just in a in a
different level because it was on a bigger scale.
Speaker 10 (16:38):
They were great producers, and so it was very inspiring.
Speaker 6 (16:42):
And then I felt like, oh, like something that I
haven't thought would be like translated into music, like this
was something that I have also learned to uh through
these sessions.
Speaker 10 (16:53):
And it was very motivating and it was so exciting.
It was great fun.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
Look, before you leave, we have to talk about the
biggest four in the bt S world, and that's your army,
your fans. I mean, they are with without a doubt,
the most incredible fan base we've ever seen in the
history of any group or artists ever. What kind of energy,
what kind of energy are they giving you that makes
(17:16):
you keep on going? I mean, are they truly your fuel?
What are they to you? And what do they mean
to you?
Speaker 4 (17:23):
Don't I mean the toyoga tom you money yo curs
(17:54):
that so boga.
Speaker 6 (18:00):
Okay, I think top of their mind. If I think
of an army, army is BTS itself and also our
identity because we just didn't know that we would be,
you know, like this much of a success at the
very beginning when we started off as you know, like
(18:21):
a group in Korea. But then we were just you know,
like enjoying our music. But then Army was the one
who you know, like marketed us literally and then like
showed us into the world. So that's why when I'm
given this question, like what Army is to BTS, I
would say our BTS itself and also our identity.
Speaker 12 (18:39):
Wow wow V very good.
Speaker 4 (18:40):
Thank you.
Speaker 7 (18:41):
You guys are only human. So you tour and you
see people in the audience. Have you ever seen a
celebrity standing there that made you take a step back
and catch your breath because I can't believe that they're
at My show.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
Took its Costrin chicag And.
Speaker 6 (19:01):
You know, there are some artists that I used to
like as a younger kid. If they show up on
our show, it's it's one of the stories.
Speaker 4 (19:08):
I remember Matthew Matthew mcconnory.
Speaker 5 (19:10):
Oh yeah, he came over to our show like in
twenty nineteen with his son, and he came over to backstage,
and I was like, that's how I was like so
into Interstellar.
Speaker 4 (19:22):
I was like.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
Find a way.
Speaker 4 (19:26):
We always have remember the moment.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
Gratiate, gratia brae, Yeah, gratia.
Speaker 4 (19:48):
Artistic, theological.
Speaker 6 (19:53):
If joan, there's sometimes when I find out later that
they were in our concert.
Speaker 10 (20:04):
So if we find out later, it's it's it's great.
Speaker 4 (20:08):
I bet so uh b t s.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
The Return documentary drops today on Netflix of course, back
with our friend Jimmy fallon tonight on NBC The Tonight Show.
And is there anything before you leave you want to
say to the army before you get ready for the
big tour.
Speaker 10 (20:54):
So we're coming guys this time. It's been a while,
so we had this.
Speaker 6 (21:00):
Common ground of thoughts that we have to extend the
number of countries and the number of venues that we
have to perform. So please stay tuned and look forward
to our concerts.
Speaker 10 (21:10):
We're coming.
Speaker 4 (21:12):
So you go concert to.
Speaker 3 (21:17):
Chick oh condition a condition producing oh Tom hasan.
Speaker 10 (21:48):
So it's been a.
Speaker 6 (21:49):
While since our group as as seven members were together,
so we have grown older since then, so we will
try our best to stay healthy and stay fit and
and you know, like bring that energy of the twenties
back into the concerts.
Speaker 10 (22:03):
So just stay tuned.
Speaker 1 (22:04):
There you go, Cook, Thank you very much. There you
go out on tour at on the world Tour. Thank
you guys, BTS everyone, Thank you guys.
