Speaker 1 (00:01):
Today's Daily Highlight from Elvis Duran in the Morning Show.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Elvis Bucky's in their big Beaver lawsuit. All right, they
have several By the way, Hey, did you remember this song?
I think it was by a group called Primus called
Wyona's Big Brown Beavers.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
Got a big brown Beaver.
Speaker 4 (00:19):
Here we go, big hit, massive hit. They give you
a long intro so you could do the weather. They say,
here's Primus. Anyway, it's called big Brown Beaver.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
I wonder who pissed off.
Speaker 5 (00:45):
I think you're gonna start singing and coming in right here.
It's a long thirty second just wait for a second.
Here it jumps along the way to beaver.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Okay, you know, never mind right there, that wasn't right there.
We were nowhere near the lyrics of big round Beaver.
Speaker 5 (01:08):
You were touching it, that would happen. Okay, shut up
each and everyone else.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Anyway, So, uh, BUCkies, if you're familiar with BUCkies, you
know what I'm talking about. Their logo is like a
big beaver, like in a circle, right, and that's their logo. Yeah,
they're launching all sorts of all sorts of lawsuits against who. Well, okay,
let me read from Uh, what's your thing that we
(01:40):
love every day?
Speaker 3 (01:40):
The morning break?
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Yes, because they were it very well. We thought the
only angry beavers were Norbert and Daggett.
Speaker 5 (01:49):
Who's that what?
Speaker 2 (01:52):
But it might be time to add BUCkies to the list.
BUCkies has garnered a lot of attention for a series
of lawsuits it's filed regarding alleged trademark infringement on its
beloved bucktoothed boy the Beaver. The convenience mart slash gas
station chain based in Texas recently thrilled international World Cup fans,
but public sentiment has shifted because now they're suing everyone.
(02:13):
They're suing the clothing brand called Bourne United for an
apparel line featuring a beaver that looks similar to the
BUCkies beaver. Okay, they're suing a dog part in dog
park in Missouri called Barkies, which shut down as a
result of the lawsuit. Not Bugies but Barkies, So I
(02:34):
see what they did there. There's a place in San Antonio,
Texas called Choke Canyon Barbecue. The restaurant chain has a
circular logo featuring a cartoon alligator which looks like the
BUCkies beaver. Suing them they're suing everyone. There's a store
called Mickey's. It's been opened since nineteen eighty two, the
same year BUCkies open. They're suing them.
Speaker 6 (02:57):
So basically, if you got a beaver there hunting for you, yeah,
they're hunting your beaver.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
So they're saying, anyone that uses anything like a beaver
or a beaver's likeness, we're gonna sue you.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
This is.
Speaker 6 (03:12):
Beaver.
Speaker 7 (03:13):
Okay, the alligator does from Choke Canyon Barbecue does not
look anything like the BUCkies beaver.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
I don't think the beaver Mart beaver does either. First
of all, the BUCkies beaver sort of looks like an
otter if we're being really specific about this, But that
beaver Mart beaver looks different. And there are only so
many ways you can draw a cartoon beaver. They can't
the market beavers.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
You can't own every beaver, ye what you do.
Speaker 5 (03:36):
Well, you can't.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
You can't if you're BUCkies because they are big beaver.
Down with big beaver, down with big beaver. Isn't there
a beaver on a coin in Canada?
Speaker 6 (03:46):
I mean, are you gonna say that they got to
take that off their their nickel or whatever they that
thing's on that Beaver's everywhere.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
You're the worst part about this is this Beaver mart
in Ohio is in Beaver Creek. They earned that.
Speaker 5 (04:00):
They can't call it Beaver Creek anymore. You're BUCkies.
Speaker 7 (04:02):
Did you see this one super Fuels logo. It's a
puppy wearing a cape, a superhero cape, and they're fighting them.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
Looks nothing like it looks nothing.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
Like the like AI lawyers. You know how Instagram flags
everything for no reason. This seems like what Bucky's doing.
Speaker 5 (04:19):
Okay, So here's here's the thing.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
And look, every time we've talked about BUCkies on the show,
you guys are just over the top with admiration. You
love BUCkies, the concept shopping there. But now people are
going up against beavers. That's right, they're they're going up
against BUCkies.
Speaker 7 (04:37):
Bad bad, I mean, I still like the place.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
They're just overstepping their downs.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
They really are down with big Beaver.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
The beavers the back down.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Yeah, down with big Beaver. So if you're a fan
of if you're a fan of BUCkies, you consider this
before you make that exit for the big old the
big old BUCkies. Hey, uh, only Scuttie beeB and this
where's the closest BUCkies to us?
Speaker 8 (05:02):
Actually it used to be South Carolina. Now they built
one in Virginia, but that was off I think Root
eighty one, so it's not a straight shot out. The
closest one on ninety five to us is in Florence,
South Carolina.
Speaker 7 (05:12):
Why don't they we make one closer? Like Perami's, New
Jersey would be a good place for our BUCkies.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
Yeah, Like, if you don't even have a Bucky's in
Beaver Creek, Ohio, what are you doing?
Speaker 5 (05:23):
What are they doing down Beaver Creek, Ohio needs it? BUCkies.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
It's a bully. It's a bullying beaver.
Speaker 5 (05:29):
It is it is.
Speaker 6 (05:31):
Wasn't there a feature in an adult magazine called beaver Hunt?
Speaker 3 (05:35):
Yeah, you get it.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
Yeah, it was called Hustler. Hustler Magazine. I think that's
wasn't that Larry Flinch's magazine? Yeah, yeah, Hustler Magazine. And
so they had, you know, all sorts of porn throughout
the pages, but at the very back of the magazine,
at the very end, it was photos that people sent
in with of their nude bodies. These women, oh of normal, yes,
(05:59):
normal every day people, and they always have one naked guy.
They go one for the ladies, an ugly guy with
this wiener hanging out. God, I'm sorry that I know that.
But for the lady, how do you know that you
didn't get me? You were you? Was it your dad's
Hustlers or something. I'm not going to have this conversation
(06:20):
with you Ustler. Hustler was a huge magazine back in the.
Speaker 5 (06:25):
Year, but I didn't think you you would read it?
Speaker 3 (06:28):
What you what?
Speaker 5 (06:30):
I had a subscription.
Speaker 8 (06:32):
I was a teenager and my mom was like, your
porno came and would throw it on my back.
Speaker 5 (06:39):
Your mom, let you have that. It was a plain blade.
It was a black plastic wrapper. Leonora allowed Hustler in
her house. My mom actively bought me the Madonna issue
of Penthouse and Playboy because it was Madonna and she
probably want to see it too.
Speaker 7 (06:57):
Wait, do you remember what We used to get something
sent to us monthly, and we used to all make
fun of the regular guys that used to send there
fature just like he was dressed like a construction worker
and he like posed this thing, Dane.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
There's because there's no good way to position it.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
There really is no You really have no control over it.
Speaker 5 (07:24):
Really. I mean, gravity positions we were dying every month
doesn't come to be so much fun. It was that.
Speaker 7 (07:32):
It was Airlin was plairl yeah, laid across his leg.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
Okay, hold on back to Nate, Why are you poking
fun at me? Because I mean, it's a lot of
naked women in that thing. I didn't think you would
be entertained by flipping through and we Hustler was more
than nudity. It was just it was a nexty magazine.
R Scott I read. I liked the sultry stories. Write
(08:04):
articles in there, man, No, it was mostly fiction stories. Yeah,
you really got into their journalism. So anyway, Yeah, so
beaver Hunt is in the back of Hustler, and so so.
Speaker 5 (08:16):
As Bucky's going to sue them. I mean, it's kind
of past past the time you imagine that I can't
take down beaver Hunt.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
You're right, it's an institution really all right, Well, this
was a lot of fun. I'm glad we had this conversation.
Can we talk about something other than this?
Speaker 3 (08:33):
We
