Speaker 1 (00:00):
Corlor, another night at home which had its good moments
but eating and another disappointing result. So how do you
sort of reflect on that one?
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Yeah, I think looking back at now, it's quite frustrating.
I think we scored two good goals and then I
think it's just sloppiness in key moments that cost us
probably goals. I think overall, we probably had the ball
and we had created a lot of chances. Think we
just switch off at moments at the moment that are
costing us and hurting us the same. I think, the
(00:29):
same as last week. We're probably in control of the
game and two moments again that costs us. So I
think we just need a not a bit of luck.
I think just it just needs to click. And I
think we're in the right direction now. Sapri coming in.
I think I think we're almost there. Is just one
more I think one more step up and I think
we will see end product.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
Yeah, because it's not as if you're being outplayed for games,
is it. That's sort of, as you say, sort of
freak moments and lapses of concentration. Can you put those
down to any particular reason?
Speaker 2 (01:03):
I don't think so, it's just frustrating because it's probably
happening too often for our liking. And like you said,
like we're in the game. It's not like we can't
haven't touched the ball. We've got probably we've got the
top goal scorer up top, we're creating chances, we're scoring goals,
probably scoring two goals a game. So there's positives, but
I think as we're just probably need the extra ten
percent just to stop conceding not even goals, just sloppy goals.
(01:27):
You can con see goals in football games, but I
think the goals we're conceding they're preventable. So that's probably
a positive. If we fix out, we're in the right direction.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Still, with the leagues as close as it us from
top to bottom, you know, very few points separating all
the teams, does it still give you some hope that
even though it's probably been a couple of disappointing gas
where points have been kind of in your sights, that
there's still chances to remedy us over the coming weeks.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
One hundred percent. I think that's not an issue. I
think you've everyone knows the league table. You in two
games and you're in the top six. I think that's
the positive for us. We're almost so close to doing that.
I think we just need to fix up the sloppiness
at the back, and not even at the back, just
in general sloppiness altogether in key moments, because for majority
of the game we're pretty good. It's just like I said,
(02:11):
keep harping on these moments. I think if we take
that out of the game, I think we're a very
good team.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
You mentioned Sarpre before I've begun failing here today pre match.
How big is that for this team and how excited
is the playing group for that?
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Yeah? I think as you saw, the crowd loved it,
and I think, yeah, he'll be massive for the squad,
bring a lot of experience and with his quality, add
another attacker up there. Yeah, we'll have a lot of
our firepower. That'll be also good.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
And obviously with Bill's and in jection and the team,
I mean having herm and I guess when Sarpre does
play integrating them into the playing group, their experienced players,
does it still take a bit of time to have
them sort of fit into the playing group.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Yeah, of course, no matter what football level football you play.
I think if you come to a new club is
we hopefully it clicks straight away, but you obviously have
to give him a bit of time. But Sapre obviously
knows a few of the boys playing here before and
playing with him at all, right, So hopefully he clicks
day one and we get him fire.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
And you're making a bit of a habit of scoring
in front of the yellow fever. Mate, no talk us through,
talk us through that one. Good moment for you.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Yeah, I don't like scoring out the other end, the
zo fans, so I just keep it this send. Yeah,
it's good moment for myself. I'm loving it here. It's
probably the best I've played consistently. And yeah, I just
love being in Wellington and scoring goals, assisting and hoping
the team win games.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
What does the focus for the team need to be
this coming week.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
I think we just need to get back to winning
games of football, because at the end of the day,
we can play well, score goals, but at the end
of the day you need you three points because if
you don't get three points, you don't go higher up
on the ladder. So I think now it's coming to
the business end. We're not out of it by any means.
I think I don't know what the ladder is now,
but say we're three four points off to six two
games and you're back in it. So I think we
have to stay positive. You can take a lot of
(03:43):
positives out of this game today and we'd have to
move forward. There's no points looking on it.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Congret it's on another great goal. Hardluck about the loss,
but thanks for your time here.
