Speaker 1 (00:00):
That's as always though, begadding over summer by chatting bowls
and Rod Leach is back in studio with us talking
all things bowls. Gonda ros good, I am not to
see you you too, writes Obviously last weekend for this
time a week ago we previewed the latest round of
inter Club. Of course taking a break this weekend, but
shall we have a look at the tables and start with.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
The men's yep, good as gold. Now there has been
a change in fortunes there because Johns Will have hit
the front. They lead on ninety eight points after they've
had two three nil wins the last two weeks, so
that's really strewed to them. At the table they lead
on ninety eight, with Stokes Valley on ninety four, Plymington
on seventy eight and Victoria on seventy three. So Victoria
have held their spot in there because they beat Stokes
Valley two to one. Now the next team down nine

(00:39):
I sixty seven, Tarbor fifty nine, Miramar fifty eight and
Hunt fifty two. Those teams are obviously still a chance.
Why New We and believe not Plenty Central stip to
the bottom of the table on forty three. Why now he'
on forty four.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Great, all right, we'll we look forward to that resuming shortly.
What about over in the women's.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Woman's Yeah, Johnsvill Ladies still have quite a good control
on that division. They lead one hundred and twelve points
nineint eighty seven, Silver Stream eighty five Stokes Value eighty one.
That rounds out the top four. Then we go to
Victoria on seventy, Tarwar on sixty, with Tony Central on sixty,
plymodon fifty five, Hunt and mirramar Hut on thirty nine
Marimar twenty eight. There is just one thing with that

(01:16):
John's will team Dale Rayner has realized he's no longer
available for the end club playoffs this year. So I
think she may have been left out of the team
for the next round, which is a week or two away.
But yeah, so they're going to try and form the
team without her.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Now okay, wow, Well the club's in a pretty good
position though you'd have to say men's and women's then
in the way.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
That's a great result for the club.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
Everyone would want to be right. During the week, I
know there was a bit of weather, wet weather these
last few days, but midwek Pennet's how much of those
did do we get through?

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Midwek Pennance, We got through most of all the men's
got theirs played, so Johns will have actually hit the
front of that which it's probably a harder time petition
to win the NDI club, and I'll get a bit
of flack about that. But Johnsviller on eighteen, I've got
a head of Island Bay on seventeen, Tedba twelve, Victoria eleven,
plymotin eight and Mirramar six. So there's one more round
before Ristmas where it at the top of the table

(02:01):
clash for Johns Fall and Island Bay. Then there'll be
a break till mid jam. Also that valley competition, we
better keep you now, that's very tight. They've got nine
I on eighteen, Hot on eighteen, Upperhut on sixteen, silver
Stream on thirteen. So those four teams are all well
in the mixed Stokes Valley on four and wine Amy
on three. They'd have to hurry along a bit to
try and get into the top spot.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
All right, great and women was there much complete at
all with.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Now when we got rained off on Thursdays was Thursday.
There's got rainedoff, so they'll have their postponement day for
later in the season.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Catch up with that, okay, look forward to hearing about
that later in the summer. No into club this weekend,
of course, because they go Open four's events on always
one that people look forward to.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
YEAP Open fours kicks off today and we'll finish on Monday.
Johns Fall's headquarters club. So if you've got nothing to do,
get on down to Johnsville. There'll be at least one
green there, possibly two and all post section places should
be at Johnsonville. We've got lastly as winners and the
men's which will be a team that could be hard
to beat again with Fim mcgwig and Blake Signal, Mike
Carroll and Sunny White. Up from there again, there's an

(03:02):
interesting team in the ladies division. We've got a team
of all under eighteens which is Lily Signal, Nevaia Hickey,
Maya Carvey Kevy sorry and a Cheetah Ramesh. They're playing
at Island Bay and yeah, hopefully they make it through
to johnson on the post section.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Yeah great. So this's great from a bolls Wellington perspective
seeing some youth in the rate to see.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Some young ones out there doing it. Yeah, and even
if they don't do well, it'll be a great experience
for them.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Last week on our show we had Caleb Hope, who
I know is a top bowler in Wellington. He's had
some great success but it was obviously on our show
as part of his big darts trip around the world.
I imagine there'll be a few people in the bowls
seen taking credit for some of his sporting success.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Yes, well, Caleb was one of our high achiever and ballsy.
He won a couple of indecented titles with us, so
you know he's a guy that he's only twenty five
years of age, so he's got a lot of years
where he can come back to the Bolls. Hopefully he
does come back, but darts seems to have taken over
now he's on. He kicks off his campaign in the
darts on Sunday morning at one am and that will
be live streamed. Blake, We'll be putting out a newsletter

(04:01):
for Bolls Wellington today and if I have a link
to the live stream to came with match. So anyone
up at that time of day, good luck get into it.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
Yeah, wonderful and the Cole sounds like they've got a
great Yes and Nicole great campaign hits And before you go,
Rod's entries closing for the latest tournaments are the singles.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Yeah, two weekends away. We've got the Wellington Open. Singles.
Entries close on December the first. Now we're a wee
bit disappointed at the stage because men only have approximately
one hundred teams in sorry, one hundred players in compared
to one hundred and fifty two and last years ladies
are at currently sitting around forty five they had fifty six.
So we've still got time to get a few more entries,
but that men's entry number does worry, as weber, we'd

(04:37):
love to see it getting higher. So if you're not
doing anything in a couple of weekends, time get on into.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
It all right, and entries and by Monday entries and
by Monday yep, crass off Monday fantastic. Thanks as always
Rod will chair next week.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
Look forward to it for more from News talks'd be
listen live on air or online and keep
