Leasa and Zay - Mind, Body and Soul Expo

The Mind Body Soul Expo brings a full day of colour, connection, and wellbeing to Hotel Ashburton on SAT 14 FEB. From 10am–4pm, visitors can explore clairvoyants, international mediums, energy healers, crystals, crafts, workshops, music, food, clothing, gifts, and plenty more. Entry is $5, with free admission for children under 15. Hosted by the Ashburton Spiritual Group, the expo also supports a great cause, raising funds for Mid Canterbury Riding for the Disabled.

A day of connection and well being one headlong to
the Mind, Body and Soul Expo. It's at Hotel Ashburton
this Sat Today from ten am until four pm. I
caught up with Lisa and Zay from the Ashburton Spiritual
groups that are bringing it all together to ask what's
on the cards? Well, apparently a packed house of forty
five stall holders.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Reflexology, healing message. We've got so many ancraft people as
well and clothing and we've also been lucky enough to
get three international psychic mediums over from Australia coming over.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Who are they? What can we expect from them?

Speaker 2 (00:38):
So we've got Linda lu which is a psychic pin
up now she is also doing an.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Evening a pinup girl? Is this Rah?

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Yeah, she's doing an evening as well Friday Night. Yes.
We've also got Katrina who's astrology and numerals and Lady
d is also a psychic medium. We've got four rooms
in the Hotel Ashberson. They have been amazing as well.

And then you can just rock on up to a reader,
put your name down on the appointment sheet and just
go and cruise all the rest of the stalls and
come back and have your reading, so no one's pre
booked out. It's right there on the spur of the moment.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
And the best thing about it is that it's at
a cheaper price. Is where you book the person personally
and privately. I can probably a bit more than what
it would be at the excess. You get a bit
of a taste there and go, oh, actually I quite
like this person. I want to book them privately later on. Prisingly,
I'm fairly new to Ashburton and I was very surprised
that we have a huge spiritual following over here. I
had no idea. Yeah, we really really do.

First started our first service ever went into we had
fifteen and we're all we're getting up to almost forty
fifty people in our services every third Sunday of the
month now, so it's just blown away.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
What do you think that is?

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Well, I don't actually know the answer to that, but
to be fair, we have a lot of farmer wives
and they're more in the elderly generation, so I think
maybe back in that generation it was very forbidden and
very unspoken about. So now they have that freedom and
not the fear of being marketed like a crazy, crazy
woman so I think as time has gone by, people

(02:21):
have become more comfortable and more aware, and it is
really good to give people some clarity, some peace, to
know that their loved ones and spirit are okay, they're
doing okay. But also it's about us.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
We seem to be not taking on a lot of
other people's dramas. We're tuning inwards and we're looking at
ourselves and you know what we can do to make
to better us.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
And so our services are not just like a reader
coming in and doing a psychic reading or a meditation.
It's it's about teaching the group of people that have
made the time to come and learn about themselves. We
have workshops on self empowerment, betterment, just so many different things.
Like we've got a full year packed full of workshops.
So we're not just in there on a Sunday and

out to go where we're about getting the community involved
about yoga, meditation, healing, all sorts, even crafts who even
just talking about candle making workshops. So it can have
a variety of different people that don't necessarily have to
believe or think about the spiritual side.
