Speaker 1 (00:01):
Petty Bradford is with the Eshburton Golf Club. Morning to you,
but look always a great excuse to talk golf. I
was down south playing a two day tournament myself on
the weekend, which bond down in big time. However, one
thing I did get to witness was a guy named
Murray Davidson strike a hole in one on a wee
pass three. It's a wonderful thing to watch, isn't.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
It's it's great to watch. Seen many of them, seen
many of them.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
The ultimate aim for any golfer. But here's the kicker, mate.
This is Murray's second hole and one on the same
hole in the space of a week. What's the chance
of that?

Speaker 2 (00:37):
That's some good go in the space of a week. Here,
just to get two holding ones is amager, but in
a space of a week it's certainly up there.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Do you keep count of how many holand ones have
been struck in Ashburton?

Speaker 2 (00:49):
We've got Honors Bard, yet we've got an honors barred
with everyone. All strikes one on our home cast gets
the name.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
So how many and we up to just off the top?

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Lord? Each year? We're looking at maybe four or five
each year?

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Yeah, right? Have you been enough? Are you up on
it board?

Speaker 2 (01:06):
That's a silly question that we're just moved past.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
I know, right, Hey, well here's the bit about what
happened on the weekend that's got me questioning. I was
always of the understanding that if you are lucky enough
to hit a hole in one on competition day, you
shout the bar. But apparently no, that wasn't the rolling
down there and facts the club kept and said to
me that if anything, we should be shouting Murry a beer,

(01:29):
which in principle I agree was but that's not how
it works.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
It seems to I mean, that seems to be I've
been playing golf many years and there seems to be
that the etique and what sort of the history about
it is that they do show maybe not shout the
whole bar, but the shout certainly the people are playing
with them, their good friends and whatever we get the
Ashburton Golf. So we give the hold them on recipient,

(01:55):
We give them one hundred dollars bar vout you to
help them leave the bar.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
It's going right back in.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
The till that's what we do. And we also have
holding one club that people can can join in everyone
can put a fiver in and think when when it
went up. So there was like fifty two people in there,
so two and fifty bucks as well. So that when
you get the Holding One, you take the take the kitty.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Yeah, oh you you go home with the money, I thought,
because there's some clubs that run like an insurance scheme
and the scenes that you pay two dollars a week
or whatever and then if there is a hole on one,
the club covers the shad.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Yeah. I have seen that, as we've seen Holding One.
I think you can get insurance. I think you can
get over here. I think you can get insurance for it.
Of course, we had one on Saturday Hour cast. We
had a Charlie Alexander Charlie Alexander knockdown. I think he
said it was his ninth for something. So it's I mean,
it's it's disgusting. So many around more.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Yeah you take that, Marry. Oh well, congratulations to you man.
It must have been the weekend for it. Well, we
could see some of it again this coming weekend. I
mentioned there's going to be some class golf on shows
that the return of the Harvy Norman Classic it is
this week and.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
We have our Harvy Normond Classic and they'll be there'll
be some great golf, but there will be some very
average golf as well.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
I know the feeling. What's the field you got?

Speaker 2 (03:18):
We've got one hundred and twelve pairs, so two hundred
and twenty four players. Geez, it's it's full. It's full,
full to the full, to the brim to the brim
of course looking good, courses looking well. We've had some
some rain and some son so it's looking it's looking
top notch. And Simon our green Caper will just give
it the final edges coming up to the weekend and

(03:40):
we'll have a couple of them working bees on on
Friday and we'll it'll be a'll be spick and span.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
So it's two days said day Sunday, is it?

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Yeah? Sunday. Whos the defending champion are the Robert Harris
owner right, Gary half A and Richard Dudley. So they
are the they they are the the winners from last

(04:09):
year and they are playing in the morning round this
year to try and defend their title. There lots of
lots of players out there hunts of it. We've got
a field from from Hawker Ticka on the west coast
christ Church and from down south, from Saint Clair down south,
so we've got we've got a big, big drawing card
and we've got a lot of Piers players coming to

(04:31):
try and take the top prize away

The night before, she learned the unimaginable – that the husband she knew in the light of day was a different person after dark. This season unpacks Saskia’s discovery of her husband’s secret life and her fight to bring him to justice. Along the way, we expose a crime that is just coming to light. This is also a story about the myth of the “perfect victim:” who gets believed, who gets doubted, and why. We follow Saskia as she works to reclaim her body, her voice, and her life.
