Gala evening of the A and Z Business of the
Year Awards. How can I be very proud to support this.
We catch up with one of the event organizers, Vicky Pluck,
to note that tickets are almost gone. What are we
ninety six percent sold?

Speaker 2 (00:16):
We are? And the ticket sales closing on the fourtey.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
It's tomorrow, that's said day.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Yeah, it's come around for your fast chee.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
And that's considering too. We've got increased capacity. There's about
twenty five percent more seats, well there is, and we've.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Got a very flash new aviation museum hangar to bring
us through.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
And it's an opportunity. I mentioned this last time with Gary.
There's not so many of them these days. To get
out the glad rags. It is black tie.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
We are accepting years Champagne on a Bible and a
three quarter to now.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Hold on so we get fed too.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
So we've got startup players on the tables. On arrival,
we've got a dinner serve and a dessert buffet.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Ooh yum oh. And because we've gone to the effort
of dolling ourselves up, do you have the photographer back.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
To Absolutely, we've got a nicely photo all the year brilliant.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
And then of course the focal point is celebrating fifty
local businesses finalists from a record one hundred and sixteen
entries or something, ain't Yes.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Yep, it's pretty impressive that we've got one hundred and
sixteen entrants just across fifteen categories.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Do we get to hear, you know, stories about what
these businesses have been up to and stuff?

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Yeah? Absolutely, yeah. Each finalist will be invited to have
a speech and let us know how the year's gone.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
That's the really inspiring stuff because we are quite humble
by nature here in mid Canterbury and it's not until
you go to an event like this and you're sitting
there listening to you know, this company kicking goals on
the international stage and selling to Iran or you know,
solving this crisis over in Africa, and you think, really.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
All done in little MD Canterbury.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Exactly right, So that's neat. And then once we find
the supreme winner of the night culminating on a high,
we get to party into the evening with DJ Ryder.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
That's right, fantastic opportunity to chill out and have a.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Boggy what sort of music does DJ Ryder Server.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
He's known to be frequent at the Blue Pubs, so
I'm sure it will be a mixture of all music generations.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Already a crowd favorite. What times it all kick off
six o'clock, Business Off Theyear dot NZ and that's where
you can go to see all the finalists and maybe
recognize a few names that you'll be able to catch
up with on the night as well, Business of the Awards.
