Jono & Ben - The Podcast

Jono & Ben - The Podcast

This is mildly amusing banter at its mild amusing best! We’re Jono Pryor and Ben Boyce, two best mates who started their work marriage a decade ago in a quest to become a hotter kiwi duo than a mince and cheese in a scalding service station pie! While we aren't there yet, you can catch us weekdays on The Hits breakfast to talk about our life misadventures, big interviews, fun games and plenty of LOLs. OK, we can’t promise LOLs but hopefully you stopped reading after we said LOLs the first time.

But little did Ben know, we had him teed up the whole time... So yes, we unnecessarily put him through 24hrs of listening to one Michael Buble song for no reason! Claaaaaaassic stitch up. We also had the PM Jacinda Ardern in, and surprised her with some very special guests. Today is our final show of the year so unfortunately you won't hear us over the summer, but we'll be back in your earholes January 24th! LOVE Y'ALL!...

Ben is listening to a Michael Bublé Christmas song on repeat until the Bube zooms us! That began at 8am this morning. But beforehand we discussed who is having the busiest Christmas, more inappropriate Christmas gifts people have been given, and we also presented for the first time, our 2021 WRAPPED UP RAP! Enjoy!

One of our listeners did... after she was gifted them from her partner. Who even knew those existed! We also caught up with THE HIPPO (Chris Hipkins), one of our fave people & the front runner for NZ's quote of the year. Finally, you know that noise you hear when your child winds down the window slightly in the back seat of the car? VERY ANNOYING NOISE! Jono did more research into why this happens. Enjoy!

Who saw this coming!? Not us! The Hippo's infamous "spread your legs" quote is up alongside a quote we made about Judith Collins... We also found out that some of our listeners have been listening to Christmas music since OCTOBER (good on ya). Finally, we debated whether Ben should let his 12-year-old Sienna get Tiktok, but decided this JUDGE JUDY/JONO style. Enjoy!

If you've got sharp ears, you may have noticed Ben mention a few times how much he'd love to interview Michael Bublé. The Drive show interviewed him, and he did the rounds across some other radio stations. So Jono has hatched up a plan for Ben to listen to the same Michael Bublé Christmas song on repeat, until Bublé Zooms us. We'll publish a link and hopefully make enough noise on social media so that he notices! Wish u...

Ben is one of the most on-to it people we know. He loves to-do lists, labels and calendars. And we wanted to see if there's anyone more organised than him! Yesterday we also spent the day on the roof of Eden Park, shooting basketballs into a hoop on the field below. And we managed to get a shot in each! Which meant that this morning, we were able to give away an all-access pass to Eden Park in 2022 as well as $1000! Finally, Be...

Nothing worse than when you've been calling someone by the wrong name, and they're too polite to say anything, but you then find out later that you have it wrong. Ben found himself in this exact situation. Awkies! We also talked about what your greatest achievement is. Tomorrow, if we manage to land 2 basketballs into a hoop from the roof of Eden Park, we reckon it could be our greatest achievement. But we asked you for you...

It's not something that many people would be able to pull off. But we spoke to Emma Timmis, a Kiwi who is doing just that. But she's doing the length of the country over 21 days! Which equals to be about 100km per day. Unreal. Ben's daughter posed a very interesting question which we spoke about this morning: If you knew about Covid one month before it hit in 2020, what would you tell yourself, or what would you do? Fin...

Quotes give us wonderful nuggets of wisdom throughout our life. But I bet you haven't thought about the fact that there are quotes that cancel other quotes out. You'll get what we mean soon... We also learnt today that Ben's nervousness has reached new heights, and we also caught up with Jeff Kinney, author of the very successful "Diary Of A Wimpy Kid" books!

Remixes are the THANG at the moment so we remixed this Kiwi classic. And we got a large variety of feedback.... Have a listen and see what you think! In today's show we also caught up with new National party leader Christopher Luxon, a self-professed lover of country music. We tested his country music knowledge & chatted about how he's going in the new role. Finally, Ben's dog got a little too close for comfort and ...

The man who directed some of the biggest movies in history - E.T, Jaws, Jurassic Park, Back To The Future, and so many more, we had the ABSOLUTE HONOUR of interviewing him and the cast of his latest film, West Side Story. Not only did we speak with Steven Spielberg, we also caught up with our Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern. A project we're working on at the moment is remixing an old Kiwi classic song. There are popular remixes o...

There's a video from 2015 where Bill Gates gave a TED Talk on how the world is not prepared for a pandemic or a highly contagious virus... and it's so eerie to watch now! We also discussed the Christmas jobs that are so admin & unenjoyable, and finally, we caught up with Dr Joel Rindelaub who spoke to us a bit more about this new Omicron covid variant and whether we should be worried. Eeeek! Enjoy the podcast.

Taylor Swift's 10-minute version of All Too Well is officially the longest song to reach #1 in the charts. Today on the show we challenged ourselves to play it, leave the studio, buy coffees and see if we could make it back in time. Did we? Was it a shambles? We also spoke about a TikTok couple's crazy rules they have in their relationship... And we spoke to relationship expert Bridgette Jackson from Equal Exes to see if th...

To celebrate 100 days in lockdown, we gave a bunch of people $100 on air! While a lot of us have been "stuck" in lockdown, we wanted to know where else you have been "stuck"... One woman called up saying when she was younger, she licked the ice in the deep freeze and got stuck to it, with no help around. And that was just ONE story we got! We also discussed one of life's most mundane tasks and why it seriously s...

We continued on yesterday's chat about the most amount of money you've cost your workplace, and we had Russell come through with a craaaazy story about how his friend BURNT HIS BOSSES WORKSHOP while he was an apprentice! Good lord. And if that wasn't enough of a WOW FACTOR, we also had our segment Wow Wednesday make a comeback. We had a lovely lady call with a heart-breaking story that just seemed to get worse! Finally,...

We had the lovely & hilarious James Blunt on the show for an interview and straight off the bat we offended him with some false information about him! But all was ok in the end. He's a very funny dude & the chat was a lot of fun! We also spoke about the Aussie TV reporter who essentially cost his network $1 million, when he went to interview Adele in London, told her he hadn't listened to her new album yet, to which...
