Speaker 2 (00:23):
Good News, News talks 'b. It's time once again for
the Matt Heath and Tyler Adams Afternoons New Zealander of
the Week. As always, three great New Zealanders shall be
equally honored, and remember the founding charter of the New
Zealander of the Week clearly states that any person, group, animal,
thing or snack can be honored. So let's get on
(00:44):
with it. For our beloved dairies, the ten minute temp
park out front is life and death. Whilst tacos are
great and taco's from Tarco Loco even better. When this
week with parkser plenty across the road, a lazy lady
(01:05):
chose to shove her car and Garnet Dairy West me
As ten minutes and then set down for a long
arsed sets shoving Mexican sandwiches in her face. She crossed
a line and so pushed to the limit by endless
parking entitlement, the dairy owner entered the next door taco loco,
but loco, he didn't go. She could have apologized, put
(01:26):
down her taco and reparked her auto, but instead she
went full loco, becoming abusive and turning on the water works.
Pragni Sepatoo the parking Sheriff of Garnet Dairy for doing
what needed to be done so the good people of
Wesmea can conveniently stop and get their milk, bread and
(01:47):
other items. You are a new Zealander of the week.
Traditions are forged in time. They grow slowly, but are
stomped out so easily, and whilst scaling two point seven
liters of beer out of an ninety one centimeter glass
(02:09):
is a stupid thing to do most days of your life,
on your twenty first birthday, it is very special, like
firewalking in Tahiti, the Satirimaui bullet and initiation of Brazil,
the Confucian ji le and guanli of China, and the
Sajian Nohi of Japan. The Kiwi Yati is a sacred
(02:32):
rite of passage. That's why the nation was shocked to
its score this week with the news that the Makutuku
black Dog tabn is being investigated for simply doing what
is always been done, filling up a stupidly long glass
of beer for a newly minted adults once in a
lifetime drink the twenty first Yati. You are silly and
(02:52):
dangerous and that's the point my cookie wants to most
of mine, And you are a New Zealander of the week.
Everyone knows the two country singing Kiwi twins, sometimes camp
leaders and sometimes dressed up as men called Ken. Their
(03:14):
performances and TV shows and media appearances have loomed large
over the New Zealand zeigeist since the nineteen eighties. Sadly,
this week one of them passed, as Linda, the one
who remains put it, it is with deep sorrow and
unimaginable grief I announced the passing of my beloved twin
sister Jules. She lived bravely with breast cancer for twenty
two years. Now she is finally free to ride on Pegasus,
(03:37):
her wind course and round up sheep again with our
dad Peter.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
And all her precious dogs.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
But it was this beautiful line Dame Linda read out
from her sister that really strummed our national heart strings.
This week there.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
Was one simple statement, and that was if you get
a chance, Linda, could you think mu Zeman pulled me?
I sign off the Jewels top a Dame, a beautiful
horsewoman who were very special twin.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Sister's heartbreaking stuff. Listen Dame Jules talk. You are a
new Zealander of the week. Take it away the top
