newsfax for Tuesday, the first of April. The Prime Minister,
it's justifying the government decision to not back Auckland's America's
Cup bid. Auckland Unlimited has confirmed the city's unable to
proceed with its bid for the twenty twenty seven event.
It says it relied on funding from Auckland Council, Central

Government and the private sector and has been told the
government can't provide the funds. Chris Luksen sees the government
needs to be grown up with how it spends taxpayers money.

As nice as it would be to support America's Cup,
the reality is that we need to make sure that
we're putting that money into things like better hospitals, better schools,
better roading network.

Landowners will not be responsible if someone is injured doing
recreational activities on their land. As part of health and
safety law changes announced by workplace Relations Minister Brook van Velden,
Senior political reporter Sophie Trigger has more.

The minister says New Zealand's work health and safety settings
have reduced appetite for outdoor activities, claiming it's created a
culture of fear among landowners worried about liability. Under the changes,
