Good afternoon. I'm Malcolm Jordan and this is your midday
news fix for Tuesday, the thirteenth of January. Police have
found the body of twenty five year old at Tiananga Tiotia,
who was swept downstream in the Waikata River near Graham
Island on Saturday. Meanwhile, the body of a man missing
since August has been pulled from a car submerged in

Yesterday's discovery follows a series of recent drownings including an Akaroa,
Lower Kaimi, Mahia Peninsula and Gisband's or Kitu Beach. Formal
identification of the body found inside a vehicle is underway,
but police believe it to be thirty nine year old

Donald Trump has announced a new twenty five percent tariff
on any country doing business with Iran, with immediate effect.
Hundreds of people have been killed in Iran in a
crackdown on anti government protests. The US president has warned
he's considering very strong options to intervene, with Iran's foreign minister,

percentage of procurement contracts given to Maori businesses over the
past financial year. It comes after Cabinet removed to target
